honestly the worst thing about my parents divorcing was neither of them wanting to keep my childhood home so they sold it and now i can never go visit that house again or go spend time at radison’s grave which is in that backyard 🧍

this is the only picture i took of new york city while i was living there, a storm was rolling in and the clouds hung low and dark over the city, i have always been sensitive to weather and we were going to meet an important friend of hers for dinner, i begged Laura to please take it easy on me, i had a severe headache and was extremely irritable as a result of the weather. upon entering the restaurant and meeting her friend i felt even worse because her friend just plain didnt like my ass, she didnt even politely laugh at any of my jokes, and to be honest was just generally rude to me. i wonder now looking back if laura hadnt already been complaining to her friend about me and her coldness was just general disapproval of me, cant say that i blame either of them really, i hadnt found a job the entire time i was in New York despite putting out applications with my resume literally hundreds of times a day, every single morning for six months. New York City is a very competitive job market, and the fact that i moved constantly is reflected in my work history. in any case i behaved admirably under those circumstances and remained friendly and outgoing during the entire torturous dinner, but on the way home my headache and low mood got the better of me. i let “she didnt seem to have much of a sense of humor, but thats ok, i think its ok that i dont get along with some of your friends (all of them) its good that you have your own friends.” slip out of my mouth. this little gaff led to a solid month of the cold shoulder and her sleeping on the couch (i tried to sleep on the couch instead of her but she wouldnt have it) i went weeks without sleeping as when we first started being romantic together her boyfriend was similarly sleeping on the couch, a sign of the end of their relationship, that poor motherfucker. none of this was her fault, its worth noting that at the end of her relationship with her last boyfriend she had just come off hormonal birth control, which is proven to change women’s taste in men, i had higher natural testosterone than her indian boyfriend and her new hormone profile selected him over me, she had gone back on hormonal birth control and instantly fell out of love with me, and love covers over many transgressions. everything she used to love about me she suddenly hated. many such cases.

her lovely cats. in the end one of her cats could sense that i was leaving and started sleeping in my duffle bag that i was packing. i cant imagine what this process is like for men who have children and get a divorce.

here they are cuddling together in the same spot on the cat tree. on only the first and last day that i lived there they cuddled inbetween us as we slept face to face. id never before experienced that level of intimacy.

heres me in florida at a party, playing a girls toes like a harmonica, i was sickly skinny back then as i was still recovering from an absolutely brutal break up.

heres another one of me in florida, we threw that watermelon off the top floor of a multi-story radison hotel building. it “exploded into cats” meaning when it hit the cement it exploded and a dozen or so stray cats went running. i really miss my friends from florida. i have a very long neck

The Old Spacer's Song Singing "Fuck You, Earth"

Leftenant Radison had worked his way up, step by step, over the heads of his fellow trainees; when he'd ratted out the men selling pot and homemade porn, he'd become the sargeant's favorite. But who was she? She was the number one ace-pilot of the spaceways! The number one fly in the ointment and the number one gnat stinging the Capitatriarchy! She was Jezebel Harble, tough-as-nails transgender princess of the spaceways!

"That was stupid of them!" cheered Vance Sputnik, astral dreamer, hanging tight to the safety pressors! "In the face of your jinking and switching, they were sitting ducks!"

Jezebel shook her head, her purple ponytail sparkling in the light of ion beams. "Harble's Law, kid, there ain't no such thing as stupidity! The Capitatriarchy of True Earth doesn't care how many of their goons they waste if they can close their claws around us - and it's still closing in!"

Suddenly, a thoughtspark glimmered in their minds! .o(Gay MacRainfall on the line from the Sparkling Homestead!)

"Gay! Never thought I'd be so happy to hear your televoice!" Jezebel flew a crazy figure-eight, S-Fighters crashing into each other in the wake of her ship, that mode-morphing polyfighter, the Queer Bedfellow!

.o(Same to you, you crazy slut! Did you manage to snatch the treasure?)

.o(It's in our back pockets,) telechirped Vance, using his affinity with the Rainbow Stream that flows between all truly open hearts to send an image of it in their hold!

"But not for long, if Militindustry Incorporate has anything to say about it!" Jezebel's hands ran across the cybronic interface, the guns of the Queer Bedfellow pulsing infraviolet! "And for all the firepower Alonza installed on this babe, we're still outnumbered, thirteen thousand to one and climbing!"

.o(Make that thirty thousand!) teleyelled Vance, hands to his forehead. .o(Capital ship is chugging thru astral space right for us!)

.o(Then it's time to do something *really* stupid,) telesaid Gay, their mental voice scintllating in the high-dopamine range. .o(The Sparkling Homestead is going to open the hearts of every S-Pilot in a forty-klick range!)

"WHAT!?" Jezebel nearly ran straight into a transgravitic mine, juking out just in time! "Gay, it's too dangerous! Engaging with such resentful, closed, hate-filled hearts is gonna drain every spoon you have - and then some!"

.o(This ain't a democracy, Jezebel, it's an anarchist commune! You may have been President of Old Earth for two whole weeks, but in this polyfamily, your concern is noted, appreciated, loved - and filed in the wastebasket!) Gay telespoke with ultrasubconscious passion. .o(We've already formed the Pentacle Heart - centered on the thing we collectively love the most!)

"So why ya formin' it on a stuffed crust pizza," muttered Jezebel, blushing furiously. "All right, all right - but on my mark! I'm diving right into the heart of the storm!"

.o(A whole-ass masochist like you wouldn't have it any other way!) Jezebel and Vance could feel the spectral energy coruscating on the edges of Gay's words. .o(We're charged with hedonism and hope! On your mark!)

Jezebel drove the Queer Bedfellow through a torrent of coherent light and charged particles, closing in on the command wing at a hundred times the speed of sound! This would require thought-perfect timing! She readied the call just below the surface of consciousness, to trigger the moment she saw the glow of the Head Oppressor's gleamaward! "And..."

Psychic love shot across the cosmos faster than light, faster than darkness, faster than conscious understanding! It burst across the cold thought-shields the Capitatriarchy enshrouded their agents in - burst and burrowed, digging in towards their hearts! And those hearts responded, reaching desperately for the light, for love, even as the conscious minds enclosing them fought against the kind intrusion!

Jezebel kicked the Queer Bedfellow's astral engines into overdrive! Vance caught onto the powerful hyperthought, guiding the ship on a path down the Rainbow Stream right towards home!

But they weren't out of the starwoods yet! The S-Pilots were trauma-trained to keep attacking even as tears poured from their eyes and painful hope beat against their breasts! Jezebel poured every erg of piloting skill she had, and every drop of love she had for the Queer Bedfellow, into bobbing and darting through the eye of the storm!!

Gay screamed wordlessly! .o(cold) .o(resentment) .o(pain) .o(one way) .o(doesn't matter) .o(Doesn't Matter) .o(Give Up) .o(GIVE UP!)

Tears flowed from Vance's eyes, nails digging into his hands as the psychic stream funneled thru his brain! "...hurts..."

Jezebel kicked backwards! Feet on the controls, she grabbed Vance's face and kissed him passionately! "Don't give up on me, motherfucker!" she murmured into his mouth, and grabbed his crotch, squeezing tight!

"Mmmmmmnh!" The screaming delight of a single moment burst across his brain, channeling back along the Rainbow Stream into his family, and back outward into the Incorporate forces - cracking hearts left and right, ion banks going silent as pilots and controllers alike wept for a lost life!

They flickered past the edge of the gravity well, locked hard onto the astral stream, and BOOSTED across the cosmos in a wink and a flash!

Another televoice came over the connection, softer, tired from struggling, but satisfied with a hard, worthwhile accomplishment. .o(queer bedfellow, do you read? this is maxine. gay's all right but needs to introvert. how are y'all?)

Jezebel set the autopilot with her big toe. "Just fine, Maxine." She lifted Vance's soft, brain-pummeled form out of his spacechair. "We're gonna do the same. See you at home."

Two relative hours later, the Queer Bedfellow eased into the docks at the hidden asteroid known as the Sparkling Homestead. The hatch opened by itself, and Gay, sipping on a cannabis smoothie and stretching, made her way inside. "Jez? Vance? How ya doin?"

A pile of blankets and pillows lay in front of a crystalline statue depicting Aphrodite Hermes in loving union with themself. Vance's head was sticking out, and he finger-waved to Gay. "She's fast asleep, as ever after one of these really hard ones."

"Awwwww." Gay knelt down, running her fingers thru Jezebel's hair. "Good job. We'll alert the Tellurians we got their artifact back from the museum."

"Hey," Vance said, "What do you think she'd say if I told her she's my hero?"

Gay chuckled. "She'd say she's just another old spacer, and that you're a soft-hearted nerd."

"Yeah, that's what I thought. Big tsundere."

"I know, right?" Gay leaned in and kissed Jezebel's cheek. "Sleep tight, princess of the spaceways."

Oooh. Nice. Most of them seem to be more evocative of Seasons 6/7 for them with me, but that’s more a commentary on the kinds of music I like than on preferring them there per se.

Okay, so Nobody’s Home by Avril Lavigne mainly an Amy song for me, but it also gives me Radison feels in places too. Especially Season 6

I Hate Everything About You  by Three Days Grace works for lots of ships of mine, and Radison is one of them, if we deal with Season 7 era Amy’s feelings towards Willow

Dance With the Devil - Breaking Benjamin - I first heard this song via a Fuffy fanvid (I find most songs via fanvids these days, since my music tastes are quite eclectic) but it is very Radison-y for me, more their season 6 era. 

Girlfriend - Avril Lavigne - I imagine Amy singing this about Tara in regards to Willow. That “she’s like so whatever’ line feels very much like how a bitter pining (and angry about it) Amy might feel about Tara. Amy, when she’s bitter/angry/pining would absolutely be the kind of person to dismiss Tara as ‘Boring’ and ‘useless’ and ‘flat’. (and I think that’s both Avril Lavigne Songs I listen to with any regularity on this list. Huh.

and I don’t really have a fifth one. I don’t think in ships for songs much, but sometimes a song really does hit me with a ship.

Basically this diverges from “Wrecked”, where Willow and Amy get drunk and go home, rather than have their magic-fest at the Bronze.

When Willow awoke, feeling someone in the bed next to her, feeling their arms around her, her heart leapt - tara! It had all been a horrible dream-

And then she realized that it wasn’t Tara that was spooning her, it wasn’t her girlfriend… her ex-girlfriend… 

The events of last night came back to her in a rush, her head throbbing. Amy… they’d gone to the Bronze… Amy had talked her into it, and then… she’d drunk. A lot. She remembered matching shots with the other witch… and then…

Oh goddess…

It was a blur, but a few moments - flashes - were left to her. Staggering back to Buffy’s house, the trip made all the slower because they’d kept stopping to make out… then finally up to her room… to the bedroom she’d once shared with Tara…

Flesh against flesh… screaming Amy’s name - Amy screaming her name… 

Willow was torn between mortifying shame, at sleeping with anyone who wasn’t Tara, so soon after their breakup… so - at all… And… the memory of how much she’d enjoyed it. And… a sense of satisfaction - Tara had been the one to break up with her, after all… not the other way around. She owed her ex nothing… right?

Willow laid there, unsure if she should move, if she should wake Amy up…

Goddess… what the hell do I say to her? 

“Mm… you’re awake…” Willow heard Amy say softly, “Sleep well?” 

“Ah…yes…” Willow managed, reaching one hand to rub at her temple, as if that would eliminate her headache. “I… Amy… last night…” she started, trying to gather her thoughts, find her words…

“It was an amazing night… merciful Hecate, I dreamed about it for years… kissing you, making l - having sex with you,” Amy changed, mid-word, and Willow blinked, sure she had to be imagining that ‘l’ sound… “But last night… so much better than I could have ever hoped.”  

“You - you dreamed about… about me?” Willow turned, looking at Amy, blushing down to her neck.

“Willow…” Amy started after a breath. “I’ve been crushing on you for years, even before I realized that I was bi and that that’s what I was feeling… if I had realized you were gay back in high school…” Amy let out a wistful sigh. “Well… that’s the past.”

Willow swallowed lightly, her throat feeling a little tight. She hadn’t… she hadn’t even - how could she have missed that? Well… then… I didn’t realize I was gay at all in High school, so… Willow allowed herself a mental sigh. 

To hear that Amy had been crushing on her for so long… it was flattering yeah.. and a little overwhelming. 

“Amy… I… I had no idea… and - last night… what I remember of it… anyway…” She stammered out slowly. “I mean - it was good… really good… but… I… I mean… I just… Tara - and…” 

Amy bit her lip for a long moment, then she nodded. “I… I understand…” Amy swallowed. “I know you don’t… I mean… for you, it’s been three years since High School, and… you… you just broke up with…” Amy took a breath. “I get that you don’t… is there… is there a chance, at least? Do I have that much?”

Willow could hear the hope in Amy’s tone, the soft note of desperation. She opened her mouth, about to tell Amy the unvarnished truth - that Willow really didn’t know… she had no way of giving her an answer. But at the same time…

Part of her wanted to tell Amy yes. The notion of someone who wanted her as much as Amy seemed to - not just for sex, but just… her… it was…  

Tara had left her, right? Willow didn’t owe her anything. And here was Amy, willing and offering… and… she could… 

I could show Tara what she gave up… I could have someone who wouldn’t try to stop me from using magic… someone who wants me, maybe even loves me, again. It was petty, possibly unfair to Amy… selfish…

We used to be really close, when we were younger… Willow considered. And in High School, after Amy got her body back… they’d been friends. There’d been a lot to like about the other girl…

Maybe I could… maybe not…

But she wanted to say yes. Didn’t want to tell Amy no.

“You… you do have a chance, yeah.” Willow finally said softly. “Maybe even a pretty good one.” She leaned in towards Amy and pressed a light kiss to her lips.

Malcolm Mason is the newly elected president and is the head of a very dysfunctional family

Events:

The hostage situation:

The Masons are attending an an event, which Malcolm has had to leave to attend to some other business - much to Marnie’s dismay, as she didn't want to come in the first place. The event is hijacked by a man - Radison Riggs - intending to take the attendees hostage, he does so, but his actions don't bring about the fear he would have expected - especially as Marnie seems to be telling him everything he's doing wrong. Things go from bad to worse for Riggs when the phone rings with hostage negotiations and Marnie insists on showing him how it's done.

Marnie (taking the phone from Riggs) - “look, I’ll show you how it’s done. Right. No one's getting out of here alive unless I get what I want, ya hear me?! I want a helicopter that will take me wherever I tell it - no questions asked. And 50- no $500,000 waiting for me in the helicopter - do I make myself clear!?” (she covers the phone and starts talking normally to Riggs) “see you’ve gotta go big or go home in this game - otherwise the feds will walk all over you.”

Riggs is utterly baffled by what he’s seeing and doesn’t really know what to do - he just nods.

Back on the phone the police on the other end are also rather confused.

Negotiator - “who is this?”

Marnie - “your worst nightmare!”

She smiles and puts her thumb up at Riggs, who is clearly regretting his decision to try and take the family hostage.

Negotiator - “wait, I recognise that voice… Miss Mason, is that you?”

Malcolm decides to step in

Malcolm (taking the phone from the negotiator) - “oh, ok, you know what, I’ll take this.” (On the phone to Marnie) “hey Marnie.”

Marnie - “oh hey dad
