Trump just went back and snatched a policy from 1965—but he’s not racist?
Let’s be clear: undoing a 60-year-old policy designed to address America’s racial inequities IS racist. This isn’t just about politics; this is about erasing protections that ensured fair opportunities for Black people, women, and other marginalized communities.
This is the door to companies not even notifying people of other races about promotions and opportunities. They dress it up with buzzwords to distract you from what they’re really doing. Don’t be fooled.
If you’re talking about this, make it plain. Too often, we assume people know the history and implications, but they count on us not connecting the dots. They rely on our silence.
Why do I always speak on race? Because I knew how quickly they’d try to take away progress if we weren’t vocal, active, and strategic. If we don’t have leaders who are willing to speak up and fight back, policies like this will dismantle decades of hard-fought progress.
This move directly harms the economic progress of Black people, and if you think it stops here, you’re mistaken.

“Why is equality so assiduously avoided? Why does white America delude itself, and how does it rationalize the evil it retains? The majority of white Americans consider themselves sincerely committed to justice for the Negro. They believe that American society is essentially hospitable to fair play and to steady growth toward a middle-class Utopia embodying racial harmony. But unfortunately this is a fantasy of self-deception and comfortable vanity.”
- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. - “Where do we go from here,” 1967

“[Mayor] Adams ordered the clearing of hundreds of homeless camps and sent an additional 1,000 police officers to patrol subways and remove homeless people from train cars and platforms. He also simultaneously cut $615M from the city’s Department of Homeless Services.”

As my final act of advocacy before the election, I’ve published a fan fiction that I hope a lot of people read before they make the decision to vote. It’s fictional, but based on real circumstances and environments. I hope it can be the final straw that encourages someone to stay in line at the polls or to show up and Vote Kamala even if they were leaning third party. The more kudos and comments I get, the more people on AO3 that will see it.
In 1958 Alabama, a young Black student named Devon goes missing, and his disappearance is met with indifference from local authorities. But when two outsiders arrive—one with a deep understanding of time and history—they team up with a brave girl named Everline to uncover the truth and fight for justice in a system built to overlook people like them.
This story tackles themes of systemic racism, the fight for civil rights, and the emotional toll of seeking justice when the world tries to ignore your pain. Through the lens of historical fiction, it reflects the struggles we still face today and calls on all of us to act, listen, and stand against injustice. It emphasizes the damage Donald Trump represents.
Even if you’ve never watched Doctor Who, this is a story for those who care about racial justice, historical truth, and the power of allyship. It’s about breaking the silence, uplifting unheard voices, and holding onto hope in the face of loss.
If you’re passionate about civil rights or the ongoing fight for equality, this story offers a glimpse into the past with lessons that still resonate in the present.
Update: Got a troll comment I actually wish to address. I know it might truly seem odd to have cell phones in this story. It’s just a nod to a Doctor Who episode where the Doctor mentions having once lent Elvis a cell phone. The Doctor and Rose are time travelers. It’s just a little Easter egg. Fellow Kamala supporters, if you think I should remove it, let me know.

American or not, please help me bring traffic to this fic before the polls close. It is a Tenrose canon compliant fic. I’m hoping it could be something that stays in the back of voters minds and keeps them in line at the polls. If you haven’t voted yet, please vote. Make sure it gets cast. One day of waiting in line is worth it. I promise.

Uhhh this is like 6 weeks old but I'm just now hearing about it: are people aware that a 27 yo, black, mentally ill, homeless man was delivered via van, likely already dead, to the Oregon State Hospital by police? And like, no one is investigating them???
Hospital staff proceeded to believe the cops that he was "just catatonic" and ignore his lifeless body in a wheelchair for 69 minutes- which is insane on its own- but its also the only thing people are paying attention to!!! The hospital staff!! What the fuck happened to this guy while he was in police custody???
Tumblr media
He was in jail for wandering in and out of traffic BTW. Like something was clearly going on with this guy mentally but he got arrested instead of proper help, yet no one is even questioning the cops when he turns up randomly dead???? What the fuck???

>> Attorneys for Lorincz claimed throughout her trial that the woman fired her gun in self-defense, the same stance she took in interviews with law enforcement after Owens' death. Lorincz told authorities she feared for her life when Owens approached her home, and just "fired the gun" because she felt she was in "mortal danger," according to the arrest affidavit.
She also said a prior altercation with Owens was the reason she purchased the handgun, which Lorincz said she had used only a handful of times at a shooting range, the previous year. Witnesses told law enforcement investigating the shooting that Lorincz was known to harass children in the neighborhood and call them, including Owens' children, horrendous racist slurs. Lorincz admitted to some of those allegations in conversations with detectives but denied she intentionally threw a roller skate at a child before the shooting.<
I hate this woman and can absolutely say with confidence this was racially motivated. Fucking killing the mother of numerous children over them being loud, a normal kid thing!? absolutely disgusting.

Guess who just came back drained of all energy because she spent the day contradicting stupid b*tards. And then they ask me: "why do you look so tired all the time?". Well what can I say? "I'm sorry, putting up with humanity's hate and evil is really taking a lot out of me." I mean, I know it would be much less emotionally draining to just ignore them and not lead an argument but I had to say SOMETHING!
Like I'm French and I have to hear all day other students laughing RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME at how disgusting and arrogant french people are. And when I confront them it's "oh come onnnnn... It's true and you know it. You should be glad we accept YOU, because you're not like them, you're nice" EXCUSE ME?! I should be feeling grateful that you "FORGIVE" me for being french?! You're knowledge of french people goes down to having travelled to Paris for holidays 3 weeks in your life, but you let that define a whole nation?! And no one supports me. I am the only french native in the international high school so I have no support. They think it's normal. Worse they think it's JUSTIFIED.
And then during English lesson we were talking about prejudices and the danger of a single story. We were debating in groups and I thought (oh how naively) it would be a good idea to lead the debate towards furries because of the unjustified hate and prejudices they receive at the moment... Welp...
So a guy started saying furries are mentally unstable (which is a prejudice and not true in any way, not that I have anything against people struggling with mental issues ofc), and they think they're animals (techniqually that's therians than furries, but therians know they are humans though, they just don't completely feel human), and then he said we (who the heck is "we", I certainly do not relate to you in any way) should hunt them down like animals, since they identify as such. (WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT THE F*CK)
And then before I could say anything the teacher asked our group: "so what did you learn about the danger of a single story (name). And the guy turns around. And says to the whole class, looking the teacher in the eyes: "Well sir, I believe the most important thing is to not dehumanise people because of our personal bias. As it is unfair and will inevitably lead to hate and violence." (he didn't say it that well as that dumbass has no vocabulary whatsoever, I wrote it in a way you can understand better).
......
see what I mean?
So of course I had to say something. And I don't regret anything. The good thing with being neurodivergent is that in moment like these my immense sense of justice makes up for my social awkwardness and I don't stutter or can't make eye contact anymore. I wish I could talk more about the heated debate that followed, but writing this has definetly drained me of whatever energy I had left and I can't go on.
I know I'm ranting and venting and I'm sorry, but honestly..... humanity sometimes....
