I rewrote the Entire Rabbit Miraculous Lore

Below is my rewritten version of the lore for the Rabbit Miraculous, you do not have to like it or agree with it but please don’t leave nasty comments in the replies I’m only doing this because I can’t understand the canon lore for the Rabbit Miraculous and sadly that is a BIG part of my AU(Timey Wimey) so I have rewritten it in a way I think others will understand.

The Lapin family is part of a long bloodline of Rabbit Miraculous holders. Before the Miraculous Order fell the Lapin family served the Miraculous Order by being the Time Guardians, watching over all the timelines while making sure no past or future enemy dare to change the course of time or dare bring harm to the Miraculouses. It was known to all that only Rabbit Miraculous holders could travel through time and this was an issue as there was no way to communicate with the Rabbit holder while they were in the Burrow, so one of the members of the Lapin family, the youngest of all the rabbits tested her strength and wit. Using the same metal that the Miraculouses were made out of she created the family heirloom. A pocket watch that was a straight copy of the Rabbit Miraculous. The Lapin bloodline heirloom, a pocket watch.

Su Han did not approve of the family heirloom until the family found out that the kwami Fluff could transform the watch if the kwami touched the pocket watch making a connection to the watch. Leaving two now-existing Rabbit Miraculouses. Su Han was enraged that the Lapin family had created a second Rabbit Miraculous and so he hid the existence of it from the Grimoire and other Guardians. The second watch was to remain a family secret hidden from the world and never to be seen or spoken of. The youngest Rabbit was the one gifted the heirloom since she made it. Alexandra Lapin learned that Fluff was now connected to both of the watches, one that was made by the great mage and the other that was made by her.

When the Miraculous Order fell to the beast known as Feast the bloodline was said to be extinct leaving the timelines unguarded. All of the Lapin family was killed by Feast leaving only one survivor. Taking the family heirloom Alexandra Lapin ran from the falling Miraculous Order leaving her as the last of the Lapin Bloodline to exist. The connection to Fluff was cut off and lost, no matter how hard Alexandra tried to transform, without the connection to Fluff the pocket watch was vulnerable, breakable, and useless. Alexandra has no idea that the Rabbit Miraculous survived the attack and is with Master Fu.

Over the years Alexandra started her own family and soon when her time was over passed down her watch from youngest to youngest. As the years passed on the great great great granddaughter of Alexandra Lapin, Eliana Lapin meets a historian named Alim Kubdel, an only child who has a passion for all things of history and old times. The two fall in love and soon start their own family. Elaina inherits the watch but it is damaged and broken from the past generations.

Eliana marries Alim and takes his last name, hiding the last name of her family. The two move to Paris and Jalil is soon born. Since Elaina is in Paris the connection with Fluff is weak but soon starts to strengthen. The watch starts to tick for the first time in thousands of years. In the pocket watch is a message from the past that reveals the hidden history of Elaina’s family. Elaina now realizes why this watch was so important to her family, not wanting her new husband to think she’s crazy she hides the watch and never looks at it again.

Alix Kubdel is soon born and the watch leaves a message from the future to Elaina. The message reveals Alix’s destiny as the next Rabbit holder and rising Time Guardian of the future, it mentions the next Miraculous Guardian and the next generation of Miraculous Holders. Elaina is surprised and thinks it's a trick, a lie, and doesn’t believe it until her daughter comes home one day hand in hand with the next Miraculous Guardian, Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Elaina realizes she must complete her duty as a Rabbit descendant. She watches as Alix meets the next generation of Miraculous heroes one by one all but the black cat.

Elaina soon falls ill, cancer, unpredictable, and shockingly she finds out she doesn’t have much time to live. Elaina leaves a long letter in her will behind for her husband and her daughter. Elaina dies around the same time Alix turns 9. After Elaina’s death, Alim was heartbroken and sad but unlike another father, he healed with his children and waited a year to open the letter his wife left him.

As a year goes by Alim opens the letter and is in disbelieve about the nonsense his wife left, he takes the pocket watch and saves it for Alix’s 14th birthday. Alim never knew his wife was a Miraculous holder descendant or that he married into a Descendant Family. So he knew his Daughter was going to be a Rabbit holder but didn’t believe it until he started receiving letters from his future daughter. He learned that his daughter needed to become friends with the next Guardian, and that was the little girl that Alix hung out with named Marinette. So Marinette and Alix are very close since the Guardian and the Rabbit holder need to be close due to their important duties.

Alix’s dad knew that Marinette was going to become the next Guardian and that Alix was going to become Bunnyx along with all of their friends becoming Miraculous Holders. Though he is scared for his daughter knowing she will be in danger he has faith that his daughter and her team can handle themselves.

Timebreaker:

The pocket watch is not indestructible like the Rabbit Miraculous and over the years the watch has been broken and damaged meaning it cannot be used to transform or even send any messages until it is fixed. When Alix gets the watch for her birthday she sees a hologram of a lady holding up a watch, that is Alix’s great, great-grandmother, Alexandra Lapin.

When the watch is destroyed in the race the Miraculous Cure fixes it. The watch is now able to be transformed with or send messages and receive messages from the past or future. Though the watch will only chime when there is a message.

How the Pocket Watch works:

There are technically two Rabbit Miraculouses one that is made form the ancient magic of the great Mage that holds the kwami of Evolution and the other a pocket watch that is connected to the Rabbit Miraculous. Both watches can be transformed but only is the main Rabbit Miraculous is active, so there can be two rabbits instead of one but it has been years since the watch has been transformed. Alix uses the Rabbit Miraculous but always keeps her pocket watch on her just in case. Fluff can only transform the watch if the kwami is near the pocket watch, touches it or makes a connection to it like using the transformation phrase. Without Fluff the pocket watch is just a plain family heirloom.

Aka my redesign of Rabbit Noir and design of Rabbit!Adrien

Coniglio is on the left (Rabbit in Italian) and Coniglio Noir is on the left

We have Coniglio and Coniglio Noir, both of which I love a lot and I'm honestly sad they're rarely going to be used in the story

Rabbit Noir's name and design is fine, but of course I had to update Chat Noir's design and I decided to make him use Rabbit in Italian just because I don't like that so many of the characters use English translations for their names when they themselves aren't British or American (I know Adrien himself is British but semantics)

Coniglio's design is partially inspired by cyberpunk, as Rabbit Noir's design has the glowing blue accents that made me think of it, though the overall design is more akin to something Adrien would just wear (if not for his father) and comfy clothes since time travel is STRESSFUL

As for Coniglio Noir, I just altered the top half of Coniglio's design slightly and swapped the blue and white to get the design

I also really like Coniglio's design because the white and blue color swaps (albeit unintentionally) resembles Chat Blanc and I find that amusing

And what a finale it'll be. Be ready for Rose of Connection, I mean Rabbit of Connection.

Get used to seeing Rose Lavilant here. She is my predestined Rabbit (save for Paradise and Separate Worlds). Here she is Lapine and her powers are straightforward with her lesser being telepathy and her greater power allowing her to see the threads that connect people together.

And Rose is back as Bunella in Salvation. As no plans to make her an Avatar, her only power is telepathy.

Oh, look! It's Rose again as the rabbit, but in All That Remained universe. Her hero name, but like in Salvation, is Bunella because my friend had a good chuckle stating that it sounded like Vanilla. Her power, like the other rose rabbits, is communication through telepathy.

Holy fuck! A rabbit that isn't Rose? Absolute blasphemy! Anyway, Mylene is Luna in Paradise. This is where we have a change of powers. Whereas the typical rabbit holder will have telepathy, Luna will be able to see the connections that tie people together.

What is this? Another rabbit that isn't Rose? Say it ain't so! Anyway, Amelie is Artemis in Siren's Song. Like most rabbits, she will have Telepathy.

Rabbit Miraculous Rewrite

This my first time doing this, but, I wanna cover Miraculous! More precisely, the Rabbit Miraculous. A couple of friends and I agree that it absolutely sucks, and so I took to rewriting it.

So, without further ado, let me share my thoughts:

First a little recap on what the rabbit miraculous is in canon. The rabbit stands for Evolution, and allows the user to travel through time via Burrow, which acts as a portal to a pocket dimension from which one can observe all timelines and open portals to any point in them. Aditionally, the transformation seems to possess a Wonderland aesthetic.

Now, the aesthetic and the concept I will buy, but the power needs to be fixed. The thing that bugged us was the fact that even though it is meant to be a last resource,the Rabbit is actually pretty used, and makes you wonder just why they don’t use it to get away with a lot of things.

It is specially infuriating  because it is suposed to be one of the minor miraculi. It’s a Zodiac Miraculous, it’s even lower than the Fox. I do not get how the Fox can be higher in the Miracle Box than the Miraculous with unrestrained time travel.

In my opinion, the role of absolute last resource should be granted to the reality altering Wish we already have, there is no need for an additional Miraculous that can bring about massive changes in timelines.

Not to mention, it renders the Horse and the Snake pretty useless, since it does what they do better, since the Rabbit can open portals through space too, like we saw Bunnix do during the battle with Time Tagger and during Chat Blanc.

So, in order to effectively fix the power of the Rabbit, just cut the portal part and just focus on time.

Now, the snake miraculous is inspired by the ouroboros, which symbolizes among other things cycles, aka, it has rewind powers. So to keep both Miraculi unique, the Rabbit must have powers related to forwarding. It even fits its concept, Evolution, going forward.

Therefore I would give the Rabbit the power to move forward in time. A useful secondary power would be increased speed, but its main power would be the ability of jumping forwards in time a total of five minutes. With this power, they could throw their enemies by surprise through dissapearing and then reappearing a couple of seconds of minutes afterward, thoigh they’d risk an ambush since they wouldn’t move in space.(This offers the chance for a tie to the Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland, they move through time and not space, so they risk being late) Aditionally, this way they could avoid attacks by simply jumping forward in time. And, it would also allow the user to escape a cycle set up by the Snake Miraculous, since each time the wielder used Second Chance, they’d have to prevent the user of the Rabbit from hopping after the cycle has ended. However, should the Rabbit use their powers first, the Snake could ambush them as many times as needed with Second Chance. This way, we balance these two Miraculous as well.

I don’t have many ideas regarding names for the power, the best I could come up with would be “Teatime!”

But that would be it! I am not used to writing posts, so I hope this isn’t too bad. But I hope you liked this, and if you’d like me to, I do have more ideas for things I’d rewrite about Miraculous.(Spoiler alert: There are many things, so many things I am gonna rewrite.)

Ladies and Gentlemen. I give you Little Vesperia. She's a powerful punch in a petite package! I posted her design in sketches ages ago but I was SO jazzed to finally do it digital. And I finally could do Teen Zoé and Vesperia.

Buckle up folks this is a long one.

I won't go into too much detail on Teen Zoé's fit, since I already talked about it in here. But Vesperia is where things get more interesting.

Little Vesperia obviously takes more inspiration from Queen Bee since in my rewrite Zoé idolizes Chloé so much. Zoé's father couldn't really be bothered to care about Zoé, she's been at every boarding school and summer camp he could afford while still keeping most of the money Audrey sends him. She rarely sees him, and when they are stuck together he wants her out of sight and out of mind.

Then Zoé is uprooted entirely when Audrey's infidelity is exposed. To save face she gets brought to Paris, to play at being one big happy family. She may be young, but she's wise enough to know this is just another person using her for their gain. She did face bullying at her schools, and a whole lot of nothing done about it from the teachers.

She also does not speak french. Which means that a good 70% of people have no idea how to communicate with her. And Audrey was no help. Zoé vas given so little information she didn't even KNOW she had an older sister when the was taken to France. Chloé was a complete blindside to her.

And she especially doesn't expect this intimidating teenager to kneel down to her level, and in perfect english explain that it's okay to be scared and she'll make sure Zoé won't be stuck wondering what's gonna happen next.

They spend the rest of the day learning where everyone is, and what certain things are called in french so that Zoé has a better way to communicate. They also sit down and order decorations for Zoé's room.

Zoé fully anticipated André to ignore her, but he is kind like he is in cannon. Just very busy so can only get in small conversations with her. Still, he's shown her more care than her own father had in the 9 years she's been alive. Since he'll ask her about her day, anything she may need, how school has been, etc. He also manages to get a free day to show her all the cool things in the hotel that most people don't know are there. He tries to have dinner with Chloé and Zoé as often as possible and they eat lunch together at the hotel at least once a week.

Now to Teen Zoé. I'll probably write this down in a separate post but my Idea for her is because of the limits I put on the rabbit miraculous Bunnix is no longer able to fight Timetagger, but she IS able to bring someone from that point in time to help instead. And since bringing anyone that could be recognized could potentially cause a paradox, the best solution is to bring in someone who they haven't met yet.

Design wise I like Vesperia's cannon design but it does look more like a wasp than a bee. I based her top on these biker jackets that had segments on the sides and just made the segments alternate black and yellow. I originally planned to keep the black top and yellow bottoms, but it just didn't look the way I wanted it too. I think making the jacket yellow makes it look much more like a bee. Also black mask because I like how those look better.

I think Little Vesperia looks good too, different enough from Queen Bee while still looking like she took inspiration, my favorite part was making it look like she had striped socks. While Teen Zoé looks like a logical progression while also dipping into badass as opposed to cute. Also her pupils turn gold to further differentiate her from Queen Bee.

Yes. First of all, one should understand which materials could be used for making jewelry. During Qing dynasty the most popular materials were jade, gold, silver, kingfisher feathers, pearls, coral, amber, lapis lazuli, cat’s eye and turquoise.

What will you do for the elements part of the box for fox butterfly peacock turtle and bee?

The new miraculous system consists of 4 layers. The first layer and the bottom one consists of crow, snake, fox, weasel and hedgehog, the Five Great Immortals, also known as Wudaxian. The second layer is Vermilion bird and Black Warrior. The third layer is Dragon and Tiger miraculouses. The third and the second layer consist of The Four Symbols. The fourth layer is Qilin, the ultimate form that can be acquired by combining tiger and dragon miraculouses.

Here's the scheme of the new system

At this point, Vermilion bird is new Butterfly, Dragon is new Ladybug, Tiger is new Black cat and Black warrior is new Bee. Fox stays the same.

What will happen to the zodiac kwami?

Yes, zodiac kwamis indeed fit into this setting. However, in my opinion, this amount of kwamis is unnecessary. Besides power overlapping, it leads to some kwamis being overpowered and/or not memorable enough.

Power overlapping

Fluff and Sass. Rabbit and Snake miraculouses. The most obvious one, in my opinion. Snake miraculous is like a cropped version of the rabbit miraculous. And it raises certain questions. Does one miraculous influence the second one? Does snake miraculous also creates a new alternative timeline? Unclear...

Orikko and Nooroo. Rooster and Butterfly miraculouses. Rooster is also a cropped version of butterfly miraculous. If butterfly can give one any superpower PLUS a cool costume, rooster grants just a power that doesn’t already belong to another kwami. It’s also unclear if goat miraculous is able to copy power from another miracle box.

Tikki , Ziggy and Xuppu. Ladybug, Goat and Monkey miraculouses. It’s actually unexpected but Ladybug (in terms of a superpower) is a cropped version of Goat miraculous. A holder of Goat miraculous can control a created object, while Ladybug’s created object is random. Monkey miraculous just summons a subject to "throw it at the opponent." So, basically mindless usage of a ladybug miraculous?

Wayzz and Stompp. Turtle and Ox miraculouses. Ox miraculous is a turtle miraculous just without a shield.

ARGUABLY!! Fluff and Kaalki. Rabbit and Horse miraculouses. Rabbit miraculous holder is able to travel through both time and space. Can’t holder travel also jump just through space?

Overpowered

Duusu. Peacock miraculous.This is arguable point; peacock being able to create actual people with their own emotions, opinions and feelings without anything in return? These synthesized people do not draw their vitality from a third-party source? Plus, adult holder can create endless amount of these human likenesses? Firstly, that doesn’t sound like equivalent exchange to me. Secondly. Fortunately, no one thought of creating an army of these clones.

Fluff. Rabbit miraculous. Time travel. Holder can change anything in time. In past, future and present. Endlessly.

Nooroo. Butterfly miraculous. It’s also worth mentioning that Butterfly miraculous is capable of copying 2 main miraculouses, Ladybug and Black cat miraculouses, other miraculouses in the box and creating absolutely new powers. It’s unclear if it can revive dead or not.

Xuppu. Monkey miraculous. What... I didn't even get what the superpower was even about. Had to google it

Here's some of my thoughts. Kwamis at this point become tools, not characters. I personally couldn't even remember even the half of kwamis' names, unfortunately. In the show they're more like cute plushies than ancient immortal creatures.

Will the dragon and tiger have new powers?

It’s a trick question and I’m still thinking it through. At this point. No. I’ll just make them more controllable. At first you should think of a plan and then look what you're lacking. Kids will have to learn this lesson 😉

I wanted to make a massive man's ring formed like an archer's ring.

At first, I considered these types of bracelets, but then I realized they might be too heavy. So, it meant they would be uncomfortable for fighting. At last, I shaped it like one of the reference bracelets.

LORE POST #1

Redesign of my Chat Noir redesign to go together with my rewrite which I will talk a lot about under the cut. I'm pretty set on this design too and will link it at the beginning of the fic when I get ten chapters completed and ready to post :3

What is different from canon, why I am changing some things, etc. Feel free to just read my thoughts around the design if you want to read my fic without any guidelines of what I'm planning so far for him

The design:

I've changed chat noir's design so it would blend in more at night. The preferred the sleek black tones over the glow in the dark green I gave him before. I take a whole lot of inspiration from the PV of miraculous ladybug in these designs so of course his hair is still floofy.

When initially designing Chat noir, the tips of his hair are darker since I really liked that trait some other redesigns gave him so I included it without making his whole head of hair black.

I got the idea to base his design off of rust and RAN with it! He still has some greens in his design but they've shifted closer to yellow green and gold for the color scheme!

I've liked the idea about the clothes in the hero designs looking more cloth like too so I've incorporated that into the design with pockets and a zipper cause I can. Since Adrien has been thinking about being a superhero for a while, his design is more thought out were it could be.

EDIT: Forgot to mention!! Ladybelle has a lil more black in her design and now chat has a little more red! :3 matching

I saw some concept art of Chat Noir with a hat at one point and I loved it so much I wanted to keep it in to a certain extent, SO Marichat moment all the way. I decided to add the bells back into his design (I missed them) and took inspiration from @/callimara's Chat Noir design.

Chat noir will still be very cat like in this and I thought it'd be funky if his feat were like a cat's

Overall it isn't much of a design change for some aspects but I really like how it turned out!

K story stuff now:

I want to get ten chapters done before I post chapters again on the first fic since I don't think I did the best job introducing what I've changed. This isn't talking about adrien agreste's life this is more his role as Chat Noir. I'll get to adrien when I get his redesign sheet finished

I've been developing for two years now and I just gotta write it out... Entirely hinging on my execution sigh

Chat noir's powers are now on a more equal footing with Ladybug's (Ladybelle now) and I'll get more indepth when I post Ladybug's redesign and stuff but basically

The miracle box is a mix mash of several miraculous's from other boxes due to an event Guardian Marianne caused. Supposedly, she unleashed the Rabbit kwami of time on the guardians in an act of defiance. Resulting in rips in time eating away the members present for such an event, burning to death in fire. Marianne managed to run away with the miraculous's she could obtain and do her best to live her life knowing what she's done.

The Ladybug and Cat miraculous are a duo pair. Strongest when used in a partnership. Many are tempted to use both at the same time for what the powers merge to become but this isn't the strongest path.

Tikki and Plagg are soulmates you could say. They aren't really romantic but they are bonded for life. Never one without the other.

They are the only miraculous pairing in the new mixmash of the guardian box. Eventually Marianne gives the responsibility to Master Fu, her lover, before the rabbit comes after her as well.

I'll talk more about the changes I've made to Tikki's character in Ladybelle's post but as a part of the Miraculous cure, something all pairing miraculous's have to purify evils and darkness, it requires both parties to be present. Usually some form of touch or communication initiates the Miraculous cure

Chat noir can use his power alone to defeat evils but it's like cauterizing a wound. He doesn't figure this out for a bit.

This is still a part of the story I'm working on but:

the miraculous of destruction gets more powerful the longer the user wields it. With techniques and familiarity, Chat noir will be able to make black pockets of nothing just from a touch. Yes I'm including this from the concept art. Though he'll only get this later down the road

Chat noir is still a form of escapism to Adrien and part of his character arc is realizing he can't rely on it like that. A large part of adrien's character I'll talk about in adrien's post ties into Chat Noir too

I'm still figuring out some plot points for him so this is where I'll end this off. But I will say I'm planning on Chat Noir getting more time with the kwamis and more of a role in the Guardian arc and guardian stuff in general

Do you think the Peacock Miraculous would be better if it had a better power. Before Season 2, I thought it would have some kind of "sight" like can see things from far away or never missing their target.

I think that the peacock would be so much better if it had a truly unique power. I'm incredibly biased about what it should be because of my own rewrite passion project, but I'll try to set that bias aside and just give you some general thoughts on the topic.

Here are some ways that a different power would drastically improve both the peacock and the overall narrative that the writers are going for, but failing to land.

Improvement One: Audience Sympathy

As-is, the peacock makes the Agrestes look unhinged and selfish. Even fans who love the later seasons think that Emilie was probably a terrible person in spite of the fact that canon clearly wants them to think otherwise. Changing the power to something else allows Emilie to be this better person by letting her use the peacock for less blatantly selfish reasons, making her fate less an instance of karma and more a true tragedy. This new power could still be something that ties back to Adrien, but it could also not. She could have just been a generally good person who liked helping people.

Improvement Two: Audience Investment

In terms of how the miraculous are used in a fight, the peacock and the butterfly are extremely similar and that's not very interesting story wise. I've found that stories with heavy magic use tend to be more interesting when you create limited powers and then force your characters to work within the confines of those powers. The less restrictive the rules, the less invested the audience is as they don't have any way to anticipate what's coming and anticipation is something you generally want your audience to feel.

Season five was a great example of this. I think that a lot of people were excited to see Miraculous pull a Cardcaptor Sakura by having our heroes hunt down each of the missing miraculous. That anticipation vanished with the arrival of the alliance rings. Suddenly our heroes had no idea what to do and the season quickly devolved into ignoring the missing miraculous in favor of shipping nonsense. Imagine how much more fun and engaging the season would have been if every episode had the potential to end with a miraculous being recovered!

Improvement Three: Audience Understanding

Most of the miraculous are pretty straightforward. The tiger is a magic punch. The black cat is destruction. The rabbit is time-travel. But the peacock? I cannot explain it to you. In fact, when I first started watching the show, I asked the friend who got me into it what sentimonsters were. She had no idea how to explain them and she was not a casual fan!

We're told that they're an emotion brought to life, but what does that even mean? Who picks their form and special powers: the person whose emotion is being brought to life or the peacock holder? Why are they somewhat immune to the power of pure destruction? What kinds of emotions overwhelm the creation process and create things like Feast? I can't tell you. It's not in the show.

We're three seasons into dealing with sentimonsters and people are still using the head writer's Twitter feed to justify their stance on this major part of canon. There is no reason to introduce such a complex element to your show if you don't care to engage with it.

This is extra true because it's not a fundamental part of making canon's story work. Canon's official line is that Emilie had no idea that the broken miraculous would kill her or anyone else, so they didn't need to make her use case be some major thing like making a baby. She could have just wanted to play with magic and we'd get the same story.

And if they did want her to make her death an active choice? Then we're back to improvement one where her use case needs to be something that's a relatable sacrifice. As is, she doesn't feel even remotely sympathetic. She's just a privileged, wealthy white woman who used that wealth to get magic in order to create her perfect child because she's too good for the kind of suffering and hard choices us normal people deal with. (Like come on writers, at least make the Agrestes middle class. You went the least sympathetic route possible here.)

In another post, someone mentioned using a sentimonster as an artificial heart for Adrien and that's a perfect example of a relatively small change that makes a world of difference for how people view Emilie. Using forbidden magic to save a real child is so much more powerful than the route that canon took.

Improvement Four: Thematic Consistency

I was a huge fan of the initial idea that every miraculous required a specific type of person to weld it. It's something that I lean on heavily in my own writing when I do stuff that focuses on the magic. I want the fox to feel like it belongs to Alya and Alya alone. Similarly, I want the peacock to feel like it belongs to Nathalie or like Nathalie is totally botching its use. Because the peacock is so nebulous and ridiculously overpowered, it doesn't feel like it belongs to any of its holders. Nathalie, Emilie, Gabriel, and Felix have nothing that ties them together and yet I can't say which of them were a true fit and which of them were failing to use the peacock to its full potential. It seems to fit all of them because there's nothing special about. It just makes you a minor god. Huh, maybe that's the theme? Ego of a god? It certainly fits.

So, what should this new power be?

I won't bias you by telling you what I did, I'll just give you my starting point and let you make you own suggestions. The original seven miraculous are largely designed around myths (tricky fox, bad luck cat, etc) so go look up mythology around peacocks and come up with a power that fits! Or don't. That lovely theme was dashed to pieces with the zodiac miraculous as far as I can tell. After all, Fluff is pretty clearly designed around the ancient myth of Alice in Wonderland. 🙄

I'm saving this for a future blog I plan to do but in these months I thought about making sense (and a slight rewrite) of the Chinese zodiac from the miraculous box. It always bugged me quite a bit that the concepts and powers didn't correlate with each other, like:

If there is a kwami of Illusion, where is the kwami of revelation?

Shouldn't Adoration have a counterpart representing Contempt?

How do I distinguish Determination from Pretension?

What does Exaltation have to do with hitting hard and what does Passion have to do with drawing things?

Well, I decided to create a subdivision in the zodiac in which each miraculous is more related to that of the ladybug or the cat, so kwamis that are "creative forces" and "destructive forces" that oppose each other. At the same time each of these dualities represents more universal concepts of existence.

To summarize, it would be:

1. Time

Rabbit (creative force) Power of Progression: allows the user to have small premonitions or glimpses of the future/create projections of past and future events (I'm still undecided). True time travel is a power up that only the adult Bunnix possesses.

Snake (destructive force) Power of Regression: her canon powers allow her to create time loops.

2. Space (or movement)

Horse (+) Power of Translation/Travel: creation of portals.

Dog (-) Power of Return/Devolution: instead allows objects to come to you.

3. Structure:

Dragon (+) "Harmony/Order": allows you to organize the atmosphere around you although initially you can only use one element at a time.

Monkey (-) "Chaos/Disruption": alters the order of things and the powers of your enemy.

4. Matter:

Goat (+) Integration: from a representation or image (drawing) you can bring something from your imagination into reality.

Mouse (-): Dispersion: the canonical, the creation of microclones.

5. Strength:

Rooster (+) Affirmation: allows you to obtain or improve TALENTS (not superpowers or desires) only human abilities such as speed, intelligence, reflexes, etc.

Ox (-)Negation: repel any enemy attack with a shockwave that weakens it.

6. Coexistence:

Pig (+) Conciliation: grants the user the ability to empathize with his rival/target, showing their wants and needs:

Tiger (-) Collision (confrontation): grants you incredible strength to dominate your opponent.

I hope all these ideas make sense, I tried my best to organize them.

I really like the idea of pairing up each Miraculous like you've done. It's very creative, and makes a lot of sense.

So, awhile back, you mentioned that for your miraculous rewrite, you were considering turning some of the akumas into their villains, so out of curiosity which akumas do you think could works as their own villains?

Teeeechnically spoilers, though the fic isn't coming that soon and I guess this wouldn't really give away too many details and not everything is for sure...

Honestly, most of them, so far, are a handful of the season 1 akumas. I can't think of any akumas from s2 that stood out to me as potential villains to stand on their own, and I stopped watching around s3 so any akumas post s2 I either don't remember or just haven't seen.

Horrificator I'd vote to be a mythical creature, as in hindsight, it's kinda icky that the plus size girl is the only one with a monstrous akuma out of all girls (that I know of).

So Horrificator instead may work better to be her own thing, and be an intro to other types of magic out there than just the Miraculous.

Darkblade I feel could've been his own thing, could've tied him to the Arthurian legends (maybe he has a corrupted Excalibur), or could've been tied to the Catacombs, which I don't think Miraculous has covered yet, and he could've had a magical sword that animates suits of armor. And if Chloe was to have an arc, could work off him targeting her family as he seeks to be the mayor.

Mime I could see possibility in being his own villain, the ability to mime could be it's own sort of magic and could be fun; but I do also think he was one of the better akumas in s1, having a good balance of being powerful but having limits, and a good set up for him becoming one. So he could go either way.

Pharaoh I'd lean being his own villain. Rewatching it recently, he was a very awkward akuma as he wasn't working off Jalil himself, he was like he was the actual pharaoh revived, talking about how he clashed with a Ladybug hero 5000 years ago and I'm like...

Does this mean the Butterfly also has the power of letting old souls possess people in the present? Or is Jalil just LARPing as an akuma? Idk. It was just really awkward so he's be an akuma I'd vote to just go ahead and be his own thing. And it can work off classic mummies being enemies.

The last one off the top of my head is Volpina. I'm of the belief that Lila either should've come to Paris already having the Fox, or she did actually buy the Fox Miraculous from the jewelry store. This also goes in hand that I don't think Fu should've had 16-17 Miraculous with him (depending if you think he does have the Rabbit or not as that seems kinda up in the air). It actually makes much more sense that he lost more than just 2 or 3 given the chaos, and it better works off him sending out the very two Gabriel wanted if Fu had more limited options on what he could do.

This also could've had Volpina nicely reveal to the heroes that there are more Miraculous out there than the initial 3 they knew about. This also would've made Lila work more naturally as a threat if she had a Miraculous and was playing hero, competing with the other heroes for glory, and coming to side with Gabriel later. A lot better than her spending s2 sulking in her room.

There could be others, but off the top of my head, these are the major ones.

Announcement for Timey Wimey:

Timey Wimey Uh Oh is currently still being written and is also currently going through some rewriting. In order for the story to flow and seem less jam packed with things that are not needed in the story some things are being removed.

Some unifications are being cut, Huntress and Pegabug along with Lady Fae and Lady Celine are safe! They will be in the story. But the butterfly/peacock unification is being cut and so are the water power ups. The ice power ups are staying but only limited to a few miraculous(cat, ladybug, butterfly, peacock). Other power ups are also being cut as well as they make no sense in the story. Some kwami swaps are also being cut too. The main seven and the Rabbit, and mouse are the only ones staying.

The chapter art is also done for chapter 5 and this chapter may be longer than the last one.

Also once we pass chapter six I will be posting a side story about Marinette’s time stuck in the past. This was supposed to be a part of the main storyline but I realized it would only ruin the plot and drag it out too much. So it will be turned into a side story. This side story will dig deeper into Marinette’s feelings of being stuck in a nostalgic time while we also get to see how Chat Blanc is doing without her.

Thank you all for your patience, this hobby of mine makes me happy and I’m so happy that my story is inspiring all of you. I have many responsibilities in my normal life(an adult needs money to survive) and sometimes I’m not great with writing at all but this story is one of my greatest works and I’m just so proud of how far it’s come.

My favorite changes in my Miraculous Ladybug rewrite!

Here are a few changes I've made that I really enjoy (some of which I haven't gotten a chance to talk about yet!)

All holders of the Rabbit and Snake Miraculous have the ability to break the fourth wall due to the nature of their Miraculous (This persists into their civilian lives if they're a permanent holder)

I've changed a couple of the Miraculous weapons (Because a ball? Really?) and my favorite of the changes is that the Dog Miraculous now has a Flail!

All Miraculous holders are immune to their own powers, which includes a copycat's powers, because of this I get to design and write a Butterfly!Nathalie which I'm very excited for (She's probably my favorite character in the show)

Because Adrien and Félix aren't sentimonsters I was able to change the fact that they look identical, so now Adrien has heterochromia (two eye colors) and he's also slightly taller than Félix

Because I've changed the ages of characters, I got to play around with their characteristics like Luka having tattoos and Socqueline having a higher maturity level than most of the main cast

Since I didn't want to change EVERYTHING about the characters, I kept a major personality trait they had and rebuilt the character around it which was fun as it challenged me to keep them similar to their original selves while also not making them exact replicas but older/more mature

The rewrite is going to be a bit more mature so the characters will swear (not all the time), the Miracle Cure can't bring back people from the dead, and I can delve deeper into certain topics that the show either avoided or couldn't go too deeply into because it was a kids show (Such as Gabriel and Tomoe's borderline abuse of Adrien and Kagami and the actual abuse Colt put Félix through)

I rather liked the whole concept of miraculous ladybug, but the actual show didn’t particularly sell itself. And there were enough issues with the power system that I thought it’d be fun to remake it myself.

I am using this system for a Miraculous crossover AU I’m developing. The only thing featured being what this post is about, the miraculous themselves!

What happens when you use more than one miraculous at a time?

They become unstable, hard if not impossible to control.

What happens when the ladybug and black cat are used together?

If one holder tries to use them both it could be catastrophic, potentially world ending.

However, two strong holder’s who are proficient with their miraculous, working together can harness the combined power to accomplish nearly anything.

What happens when a miraculous is damaged?

It’s powers become unstable, if activated it could begin to corrupt the holder, potentially changing their appearance, affecting their behaviors, and more even outside of costume.

Do the miraculous have any drawbacks or affects?

Every miraculous has behavioral or slight physical affects based on the animal it’s associated to that become stronger the longer or more connected a holder is to their miraculous. Lasting even out of costume eventually.

How do the suits work?

The suits are made from magic, and are designed using the holder’s preferences mixed with the animal theme. In some cases, the suits can give extra benefits.

Some parts of the transformation aren’t just the suit however, depending on the miraculous or even just the holder can cause more physical alterations to occur.

The transformation may sometimes appear to only be in their clothing, but it always happens to their bodies as well. This is what gives them base abilities such as heightened endurance, strength, and speed.

What about their weapons?

The weapons work similarly to the suits, appearing to the holder in a way more complimentary to them.

Each weapon however has it’s own set of rules and potential abilities.

What stops people from recognizing the holders?

The potent magic transforming both the individual and their outfits has a layered enchantment to make it hard for people to make the exact connection.

Were there more miraculous boxes?

Nope, and never were.

Are there spells for miraculous suit extra transformations?

No, they are a little out there and unnecessary.

How would the miraculous mix with other forms of magic?

Each miraculous would react slightly differently depending on their core type of power. In a cross over setting, mixing different magic or techniques while transformed could create a variety of new outcomes.

Can the miraculous be taken from the holder?

When deactivated it is possible to remove someone else’s miraculous, but while activated it is impossible to remove it included by the holder themself.

Is there a set back with the powers or time limit before transforming back?

Not as there is in the show, the potential of how often and how powerful their abilities are, are entirely based on the potential and energy of the holder as well as the Kwami. When they both run out of spare energy, the holder will automatically transform back.

The further I’ll dwell into this will likely be through my own crossover au involving my favorite show, Ranma 1/2.

I love how each of your miraculous pairs and the set of five all have their own wish granting abilities! But it has me curious: what are the wishes of the pairs we haven't seen yet and the wishes we haven't heard about yet?

Had to grab the master list of kwamis for my AUs for this as we'll be adding this to the pinned post.

So, while each has their own effect, you'll find that the emotion ones are extremely similar given the nature of what they are affecting. But, let's get into this:

Ladybug and Black Cat - Fairly straightforward. Anything can be made that is destroyed. However, whatever is to be created, something of equal value must be destroyed. I.e. you want to create life, you'll need to take a life.

Bee and Spider - With the power of Devotion, a holder can make themself or another worshipped like a god, but Betrayal cuts their ties to anyone, preventing them from giving their loyalties to anyone else.

Mouse and Pig - With Perception, a holder can create new alternate realities that are as real as the existing one, but Ignorance forever blinds to the one that they actually live in.

Fox and Lynx - Amongst the most dangerous and paradoxical of Miraculous. With Deception and Honesty, they can alter universal truths and falsehoods. What's false becomes true, and what's true becomes false. And, in their own way, are capable of granting the wish that Gimmi could in show.

Dog and Rooster - Together, Love can create true, everlasting bonds that'll never fade, but Animosity will prevent them from loving anyone or anything else, manifesting terrible contempt within them.

Bat and Tiger - Valor can strip a person of all their fear, but Fear inflicts another with that fear, stealing away their courage forever.

Ant and Goat - TBA

Monkey and Raven - Joy can strip a person of all their sadness, but Sorrow inflicts another with that sadness, stealing away their joy forever.

Horse and Rabbit - With the assistance of Freedom, Connection is able to communicate with the world (should they desire) and will not be restricted by any types of barriers. (one of the few without a steep cost)

Wolf and Owl -Due to the limitations of the human mind, this has the greatest of prices. Knowledge and Intuition are able to open their mind's eye to the fullest and gaze into realms inaccessible. All knowledge is allowed, all possibilities foreseen, allowing them to see even the fabric of the universe. However, for every second they are in this mode, ten humans lose their minds. This continues every second until they leave this mode.

Bull and Koala - the bull can give the holder or another literal boundless energy, never getting tired or running out of energy. But in turn, the koala makes someone else will lose their energy and fall into a coma like state. (Suggested by anonymous)

Robin and Dove - Combined, a pair of holders can access the tapestries woven by the threads of fate. This allows them to rewrite events for any people. However, messing with someone's life events will drastically change the person and the people involved in their life.

Dolphin and Seal - Combined, the holders can alter, adjust, and erase the memories of any person, creature, and event. Once changed, the memories changed or erased will never be remembered again, lost to the waters of oblivion.

Cow and Swan - The only power to create something akin to sentimonsters. When the kwamis come together, they are able to create a living golem. The golem can be any material, but it all depends on the material on hand. If the golem is made of anything except flesh, the body will never grow or weather, sustained by the magic that created. However, it can sustain damage enough to destroy the vessel and release the soul. If made with flesh, they will be human made through magic.

Cicada and Chameleon - Quite literally, reality is in the hands of a pair of holders. They can remold reality to whatever they want and no one would remember except them. So, basically the Gimmi wish from canon, but extra safety steps.

Shark and Bear - TBA

Finally, the set of five:

Snake, Turtle, Dragon, Peacock, and Butterfly - With the power of all five, Health, Protection, Nature, Beauty, and Transformation, they are able to create a paradise, literal Heaven on Earth, a Garden of Eden. However, for every part they make into a paradise, other parts of the planet and sterilized and turned into wastelands, unable to sustain life.
