The chain gets separated during a portal jump and luckily almost everyone is at one spot except Wind and they are on the fucking death mountain
All links are stuck and Wild quickly uses fire resistance potions for the members with no fire resistance like warriors while everyone frantically tries to find wind
Just to see wind speak to a random goron and with no fire protection whatsoever (the goron is extremely happy because hylians rarely go to the top of the mountain and happily gives him a tour trough their whole town)
And he seems fine
Because the hero of the winds disregards the laws of nature and apparently shooting an ice arrow at the ground ever so often is enough
And then the entire chain is just questioning what the hylians of wind's Hyrule are even made of
LIKE HOW !?!?
You are wearing nothing that could protect you and you BURN IN LAVE BUT THE HEAT DOES NOT BOTHER YOU OR WHAT
You are inside a literal volcano and all you do is shot a single ice arrow
What is the hero of the winds made off

Danny Phantom Prompt: Too Late to Save Them
Ok! There are similar concepts floating either around here or AO3 (or both), but I haven’t been able to find this particular angst path. (Though I’m sure it’s around)
So!
Canon Divergence After TUE (The Ultimate Enemy)
Danny fought his evil self, but was too late to save his family. Clockwork didn’t reverse time to save them— they were always meant to die. It was their “time.”
-------------
“NO!”
Danny was flown backward from the explosion, his body hurtling along with the rubble.
The rubble.
When the dust settled he heard sirens in the distance. Saw. . . a torn red beret beside his foot.
Tucker.
Sam.
His. . .
Family.
Distraught, confused, exhausted, Danny notices a woman crouched down beside him. She’s speaking to him, but he can’t hear her; there’s a dull buzz all around him, and the world seems more. . . narrow. It’s hard for him to focus on what he’s seeing.
And then she. . . freezes.
The world freezes in time.
The ghost, Clockwork, is floating behind her. He has his hand out, waiting for something. His expression unreadable, but Danny understands.
His fingers lightly grasp the thermos holding his future self. As though in a trance, he lifts it up to Clockwork. Gives him the thermos.
Clockwork accepts it, continues looking at him impassively.
Resumes time.
. . .
The days go by. He is released from the hospital in the care of a caseworker. She is talking to him gently, but he doesn’t hear what she’s saying.
He's had many people talk to him, so many people gazing at him with pity. He can't be bothered to care.
He is led to a car, someone buckles him in. The car begins driving, and soon is parked in front of Fenton Works.
His home.
The caseworker is saying something. . . Something about his aunt Alicia. He ignores her, walking into the house.
Into the lab.
He hears her scurrying after him.
Ignoring her cries of alarm, he goes into the portal.
…
He floats in the ghost zone. A few ghosts attempt to banter with him, push him around; but noticing his non reaction, leave him be.
He can’t go home. Can’t go to Vlad. He has to keep his humanity to prevent becoming a monster.
But how can he keep what he can’t feel?
He’s lost them all.
But he can keep his promise.
“Don't worry. I won't turn into that. Ever. I promise.”
He floats further and further into the ghost zone.

"It's so silly, why is Carlos scared of dogs?"
"What's going on with the whole staring contest thing with Mal and Maleficent, it's so lame"
Because these are both details on how each of these mothers control their children! Same with the Evil Queen convincing Evie that her only worth was in beauty and who she married and why Jafar made Jay steal consistently!
I know the second and third movies really gloss over it horrendously but D1 was very much about abused children escaping their parents and each of the four parents has a different method of "control" over their child.
Maleficent's staring contest is "you will never be as powerful as me unless you do as I say," (aided in part because at this point in canon, Mal's dad was human), so Mal finally "winning" a staring contest was her beating her mother through refusing to give in, and thus Mal's spell triumphed.
Cruella teaching Carlos to be scared of dogs is "the world is too frightening and dangerous and you must stay here," but befriending Dude is the moment he realizes she is absolutely wrong about the world and he would much rather be surrounded by friends than live in fear.
Jafar making Jay steal is because there's no magic and wealth is now the only semblance of power that can be found on the island but also isolation because you can't trust anyone - until Jay wins the MVP trophy and realizes that trusting his friends makes a great difference.
And the EQ reducing Evie's worth to beauty not only references the whole "Fairest of Them All" thing but also magic/knowledge was not a guarantee of power, but 'beauty' was what mattered most and why Snow White survived being poisoned; and yet that fails Evie because Chad is the worst but the one person who encourages her no matter what is the son of a dwarf.
