gonna be real, i literally don't give a shit whether charlie dies or not. he's only going to be replaced by his bald son and the monarchy will continue as it always has.

what i do care about is how this is going to be all over the news for the foreseeable even though tens of thousands of people are dying in a genocide our government is helping to fund, how people in our own country are suffering because of the cost of living crisis and the tories practically trying to tear the nhs (and many other public services) down.

and if he does die? we'll have to watch as this 'no money for the nhs' is funnelled into another state funeral and coronation. forgive me if i don't participate in the celebrations

I've come to the conclusion that loving young royals doesn't mean I can't be critical about it, maybe especially bc I love the show so much I have such strong feelings about it, good and bad and I can love parts of canon and agree with it and appreciate it but I don't have to love it all. I have accepted that it's okay if I don't accept the ending and I don't have to force myself to support it. It's okay to not agree with all of canon and it's okay to not side with all of the creators' intentions/views. Loving a show doesn't mean you have to take everything the writers say on face value and that's the only version that is allowed to exist. Canon isn't everything and fandom is about curating your own experience that makes you happy and not miserable. You don't have to dismiss canon in every aspect and ignore it entirely, that's certainly not what I want but there is a fine line between being canon respectful, allowing some parts to exist and sometimes, yes, you just have to say "fuck canon" and move on for your own sanity and wellbeing

Shio only asks Satsuki to tell people Hibaru and Terasu died, and sure, for people who have them in front of them he isn't going to say that, it's more logical to ask them to kill and act as if they didn't but—

But it's still not Shio who asked for the murders? We don't see him ask for it? It's Satsuki who carries the message – I don't doubt that Shio rather have Hibaru (and Terasu) dead, but it's very much Satsuki who pronounced those exact words.

That doesn't erase the surprise from "but we're brothers"! But it does change the "tell everyone Hibaru and Terasu are no more" to "kill everyone that takes Hibaru's side" and that's not the same thing

It's very oblivious the entire situation is beneficial for Satsuki: he looks like he's pleased with how things turned out, Shio just develops a God complex so he's even more easy to manipulate (if he already wasn't before), and for someone as naturally not charismatic as Satsuki who doesn't look like a fighter and doesn't have an astro giving him a fighting ability, using someone else — someone whom most follow — is the best option. He's the second son, he knows he won't ever be first no matter what in no matter which context, so he takes advantages of it: if he is second, nobody pays attention to him because he's not a direct threat, and if nobody pays attention to him because he's not perceived as a threat then.. he has free rein to manipulate everyone as he pleases. And nobody will ever notice but he'll come out on top.

He's very much more brain than muscles, that's easy to see. I'm just waiting to see how much he manipulates things to place himself in the true position of power and how much Shio knows Satsuki subtlety distorts his words. (Because surely, if he only changes the way it's worded, the way people will understand Shio's intents won't change, right?)

Is it the first time Satsuki subtlety distorts Shio's orders/words in a twisted game of telephone?

I know Ai and Oom's grandma is currently the most stressed ever cause Oom is kinda sorta maybe dying, so I do actually give her a little pass for being absolutely godawful in all the hospital scenes, but there is NO excuse for every other scene before the crash. Including all the flashbacks.

Like I know she's not going to ever apologize and Ai will forgive her regardless because filial piety, so I just really hope she starts treating Ai better now that she knows she's made her own granddaughter feel so worthless she truly thought her own grandma would rather her potentially die than her sister.

if i think too long about the ending making lloyd leave the home he worked so hard to save behind along with the new found family he sacrificed his life for so he can move to a place he has no emotional connection to where he only knows two people (one of which is actually following him from the aforementioned home) in order to make him get a standard "have a wife and children" 'happy' ending i start wanting to bite people not gonna lie

@elliehallers the way I already kinda have a plan for how Amy's story goes in the Cursed Princess verse, and it's essentially hero-turned-villain/fallen angel trope. She finds out she was destined to be a hero but how that will ultimately undo her entire life and lead her down a dark path, ultimately losing herself more and more the longer the story goes as she tries to live up to being a hero and a warrior, but she was always an extremely flawed hero to begin with. She's not gentle and kind like Tara, though there are times she tries, but she's always been loyal to her family and only them. She's willing to sacrifice others if it means protecting her siblings, and later to protect Thomas, too. She went to war thinking it was to save her home (the people in it, mainly), trying to tell herself she was doing it for something more, something with purpose, but it was ultimately to save her father from the vision she had that saw him die (and spoiler alert: King Charles dies either way and it was all for nothing, which leads to Amy spiraling into a slow descent into madness.

And with Amy and Tara, think "No One Mourns The Wicked" for when Amy does ultimately die 🤭 when everyone's view on her as a hero and prophet and Chosen One is soured because she's become bloodthirsty and tyrannical by the end.
