“mercy saga” au

name is a work in progress but its what im tagging all of this au under. anyways, AU is basically;

Odysseus’ arc goes in reverse. He starts off as a monster and learns mercy. also au is sorta ooc, also referenced from the odyssey

Anyways,

TROY SAGA

the musical starts with The Horse and the Infant, followed by Just a Man.

No changes to THatI. Just a man is less of a ballad and more of a villain song. With Odysseus dropping the infant, he establishes how he will do anything to get home. He has minimal hesitation, unlike the original song. Odysseus is already a monster.

then, we have Full Speed Ahead, and Warrior of the Mind

In Full Speed Ahead, we meet two major characters. Eurylochus, Odysseus’ second in command, and Polites, his best friend. They’re running out of food. Eurylochus suggests they dock on the island ahead and raid for food. Odysseus agrees.

There, they find the Lotus Eaters, a large group of men and women who are more than willing to share their fruit after some back and forth with Polites.

Unfortunately, Odysseus does not recognize the fruit.

In Warrior of The Mind, Athena appears and forces Odysseus to reject the fruit from his body. She sobers him up by reminding him of his role as a warrior of the mind and his goal to get home.

Unfortunately, Odysseus’s men have also consumed the fruit. Some are harder to sober up than others.

The final song of the Troy Saga is Cope With That.

In this song, Elpenor, a crew member, reveals his friend Perimedes is depressed. He asks that they leave him on the island, because he is happier under the lotus’ effects.

Unfortunately, Athena urges Odysseus to refuse. And he does.

Odysseus forces all of the men to return to the ship, including those still under the effects of the lotus, like Perimedes.

He threatens the lotus eaters, asking where they can get other food, and is directed to a nearby cave.

So I have a lot of toughts about the Vengance saga. (English isn't my first language and I am writing in a phone)

So, one of the things that jumped to me (and saw that a few people didn't like) is the fact that Odysseus beat Poseidon in a fight in 600 strike, mainly because of the great deviation from the source material and also generally the conventions of greek mythology.

The thing is, for me, it makes scence in terms of the narrative Epic is going for.

Poseidon has been the main antagonistic force of the story and arguably, the character that influences odysseus development the most.

Poseidon is the character that first championed the philosophy of ruthlessness, the one that slaughtered the fleet, the one big obstacle in odysseus way, and the one who's philosophy pushes him into becoming a monster, doing more and more brutal things just to get home.

Poseidon pushed Odysseus to the brink, and now, those very same actions came back to haunt him.

The roles are reversed. Odysseus didn't kill the cyclops, and when Poseidon came for revenge, his pleas for mercy where rejected

Now, Poseidon didn't kill Odysseus, and when Ody came for revenge, his please for mercy were rejected.

Personally, I am not bothered by the changes.

Epic is, honestly, it's own thing besides the odyssey, so in the context of it's own world, I am willing to buy the whole beating the shit out of poseidon, as well as some other silly things.

Besides, it's clearly inspired in RPGs and in those you fight gods or capital G God every time, and I honestly love it

On that note, maybe I will write sometime about why those kinda batshit in Epic elements such as the Windbag JetPack, Disco Hera, and the like are part of it's charm, but I need to sleep first

Hello! Can I request a Snake(vinland saga) x femreader scenario? Maybe where he falls in love with a slave in the farm (maybe a thorfin and einar friend). Thankss

First of all, thank you so much for this request it was such a good idea !! I watched it a long time ago the arc he was in, so I didn’t remember precisely the events but I tried my best to transcribe what I think he would do. And sorry for taking so much time doing it :’(

When Snake saw you for the first time he was having dinner with Ketil, and you were the one who served the dishes. He got an immaculate sense of observation so he immediately noticed you, he was intrigued about this new slave so he asked about you to Ketil. He answered that he bought you to a slave market at a really cheap price because of your bad health state but with the care he provides you’re now in good physical condition and a great worker. As time passes you’ve become friends with Thorfinn and Einar and you were often by the side of Sverkel too, so he got to learn more about your personality.

And even if he didn’t want to at first he started forming a bond with you. Everything about you was great, you always do your best, take good care of Sverkel, have an amazing sense of humor and you got this enchanting appearance he couldn’t take his eyes off. You were just too charming. Snake was lost in his own feelings, he’s grounded and his emotions don’t usually take the best of him. But with you it was different. Sverkel immediately noticed his affection towards you, he noticed that snake greets him more frequently when you're with him and that he patrols nearer the field of your friends Thorfinn and Einar.

At first, you two start getting close friends, you have endless conversations together about your past and he has a lot of compassion because he doesn’t have an easy story too (they don’t tell us about his past but we know because of his sword that he was employed by the byzantine emperor so he come from really far away, and Thorfinn says that he’s one of the best fighters he met, so we can guess that his history is kind of tragic too). He also opens up to you which surprises him because he doesn’t talk about his past to anyone (or maybe only Sverkel knows some facts). He started to get vulnerable with you even when you hadn’t started dating yet. Being a slave can be difficult socially, so he would defend you from mocking and bullying, and because of how angry he gets against people when they’re mean to you, no one dares to disrespect you.

Once you become more… intimate, he would rather keep that relationship private. So you two would share a playful stare when you’re the one who serves dinner. Thorfinn and Einar would start to get the hint of it, watching from afar in the field you two chat with loving gazes. When you’re particularly exhausted from work the role would be like reverse, he would be like a servant for you, he would be the one serving your food, helping you change, etc…And when your hands are damaged because of the laundry and field he would take such good care of them, massaging them, take care of the little cuts and finish it by pampering them with kisses.

So he’s really a caring and kind of protective man, he’s only like that for a few people (like Sverkel) and prefers keeping things private. He can’t wait for you to be free and would help you work for it if you're okay with it, so you two could finally enjoy freedom.

Nah tho, anon is right. We've definitely fielded our fair share of the women on this blog being torn down for absolutely nothing so I think that factors in when it comes to the girls. I do want to say that think that part of the reason it seems to differ by gender is because there's a kind of inherent difference in how men and women accept responsibility that you're so good at portraying that we're seeing here? For instance, Hope had a lot of awareness in her part in the runaway saga and the Kenji arc that DJ has been sorely lacking and so people were easier on her faster so it LOOKS like we're preferring women but really we're preferring an acceptance of responsibility and DJ is part of a world that doesn't force or encourage that in him. Yet.

i see people being confused about why Epic!Eurylochus was so torn up about sacrificing the 6 men, when he wanted to leave Circe's island earlier, but like??? It makes perfect sense to me??? Guys it's just a standard character arc. He learned to care more about the crew; to me that's why the role reversal in the Thunder Saga hits so hard. As Odysseus learned to be the monster, Eurylochus was the one who learned the opposite. They went in opposite directions. It shows how far these two have changed.

Oh god guys I just came up with the filthiest Snamione smut idea ever.

Think.

Sev is used to having a master, in a very nonsexual sense, but a master all the same.

Now that he doesn't, he realizes he might have a predisposition for being a bit...submissive in the right situation.

Now that he's a free man, he finds that he is a bit overwhelmed with just how free he is.

So many decisions to make about a future he didn't think he would have. The day to day is now rife with too many possibilities.

Until a certain well-meaning and incredibly bossy know-it-all is put in charge of repairing the castle.

She tells him what to do, and he has no desire to disobey. That confuses him. But also pleases him. It pleases him even more when Hermione is pleased with him in particular.

Severus of course over thinks this so much that he ends up having an anxiety attack in her presence. And of course, Hermione walks him through it in the gentlest way possible.

Cue the first time Sev really falls into 'subspace'.

And thus a dom/sub saga is born with the role reversal I need to put in writing
