can't believe how many people want to do this, do not do this
peel the onion 2k23
time to stop clogging @portmanteaurian’s mentions, here is my bold proposal for FatT onion order 2023. I am accepting criticism
Palisade 01 until Austin says “STOP, go back, go listen to Partizan”
Partizan (all), Road to Palisade 01 (reveals at the end that they’re returning to the Twilight Mirage)
then start the original onion order: Twilight Mirage 00-27
COUNTER/Weight 00-21 when the Hieron anime is first mentioned
Autumn in Hieron (all), Winter in Hieron 01-26 when Austin says “if you haven’t listened to Marielda now is the time to do that”
Marielda* from start to 03, when Austin says “it’s Train Day, sir!”
Sangfielle (all)
finish Marielda*
finish Winter in Hieron, Spring in Hieron (all)
finish COUNTER/Weight
finish Twilight Mirage, Road to Partizan (all)
finish Road to Palisade
Palisade (all)
*Ultimate Marielda

https://www.nytimes.com/2024/09/09/opinion/taliban-afghansitan-gender-apartheid.html
-- The Taliban Has Reached a New Low. How Can the World Respond? --
Afghanistan's problem began with the Khalqist coup, but perhaps we shouldn't have opposed the Soviet invasion that subsequently ousted Hafizullah Amin and his red terror. Compared to the Taliban and even to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan government, Babrak Karmal and Dr. Najib were paragons of progress and human rights.
My question about any provisions for gender apartheid in a codification of R2P in international law is would it really be enforced? When countries like Iran and its proxies, as well as several other regional powers in the Muslim world all practice blatant gender apartheid, UN enforcement would be a joke. Western countries would wind up sanctioned for restricting abortion access while Muslim countries' "right" to imprison, beat, rape, and murder women for showing their hair in public would be protected zealously. Such an idea would become a farcical double standard in practice, just like so many other promising ideals at the UN.

I don't know. Austin pulls so much from gurs earlier speeches for both the fake gur & gur (haunting) that like. It could feel cheap if someone less skilled was doing it but it hitsssss it hits is the thing because it always so clearly communicates something about gurs state of mind
has anyone ever collected all the gur speeches... I keep thinking about how handy it would be to have them all next to each other. I should just do that sometime

Hi so um, can i request a Yandere Alpha Germany with a gn or (if possible) male Siren reader who's cocky af, and probably has attempted to drown Germany once
Going to go with a Male reader because I 100% recognize this page is a cesspool of me drooling over Alfred like a demented maniac and also mainly caters to female readers so I need to diversify and cater to all, so here we go.
The angered German blonde wags his tail and paces back and forth in his study. He’d been up all night with wide ears pointed up and at attention. He was planning how to capture the siren that tended to drown some of his own soldiers, most of which may have been betas, but when they dared to try to drown him, that’s where he drew the line.
He grinded his teeth at the memory. Fists balled in pure rage at the fact that you could drag him to the depths of the sea nearly. He rubs his bandaged forearm. You made him feel weak. Something that Alpha’s were never supposed to feel. You’d found a fragility within his rigid personality. Ludwig hated that. The scene played out in his mind like a feedback loop from hell.
It was a full moon; the stars glistened in the sky, and there was a calm that washed over the usually uptight Alpha. He had just finished a dozen requests to capture (R2P’s), and some of them were rebellious omega scientists who’d been helping others escape or change their ranks. They defied the natural order, and they needed to be dealt with swiftly. With his ego boosted on high from his recent wins, he worried not about some of the legends he’d heard about the sirens and mermaids that inhabited the waters of the Italian coastline.
His bare feet trailed along the pearl-white sand as the sound of the smooth undulation of the rhythmic waves eased the rest of the tension that resided within his muscles for the day.
Y/N was watching the German General from afar on one of the fairy chimneys molded by the sometimes fearsome waves. Their wide (Eye color) had taken in their animalistic features. A dog. One that could survive water but not for an extended amount of time if dragged to the outer depths of the water.
‘He’s cute I wonder if he can swim.’ You mused to yourself, wondering how you could allure him to the ocean. ‘I might want to play with him though he has nice muscles, but I can tell he’d put up quite the fight.’ Your tail whipped behind you casing small waves just beneath the dark navy waters. ‘How fun it would be to hear his screams because by the looks of it I’m sure he’s relished in the sounds of others begging for mercy, with their pleas only falling on deaf ears. Those scratches and scars all of them tell a story.’ You decide that it might be fun to sung out a short siren tune one to relax the senses to draw him in.
Ludwig's dark brow ears lift up higher into the air he’s caught wind of the light melody that is floating like bubbles from the ocean. He’s skeptical at first but allow himself to be more alert but not ready to fight.
‘Seems that I’m not alone out here. Maybe someone has decided to be on a small boat and play a late-night love song of sorts; after all, Italians are known for that romance and vhat ever.’
After a few minutes go by, and with no luck of the German trying to approach the water, you decide to try another tactic to make the calm waves more enticing. You use one of your spells to make the waves have an enticing sparkle.
‘Was zur Hölle? Unmöglich!” The melody that you had been singing for a while was begging to hit Ludwigs' mind and have a slight effect.
‘That’s it, doggy boy, come to your death.’ Your voice gradually got a little louder so his mind could have a higher dosage of your hypnotic effect.
Ludwig’s feet inched towards the water until they were fully submerged.
Y/N began to venture closer to his target.
‘Oh this will be fun.’ He thought to himself as he prepared for his attack. ‘He should be lulled enough by now’ Within about five feet of him, his attention is still concentrated on the now-illuminated water that has an enchanting glow.
Who would ever want to take their eyes off of this magnificent sight?
Still in a trance and still unaware. Ludwig crouches down so that he can touch the water’s surface.
“No way can this be real.” As his palm is submerged in the cool waters so he could investigate what made the Italian sea so magical he felt something wrap around his right ankle.
“Verfluchte Scheiße!” (Fucking Hell) He’d fallen back into the shallow parts of the water.
He’d fallen for the sirens trick.
“Awwww don’t be afraid~” You tease. “I’m just a humble siren curious as to what a man of your stature is doing in a serene place like this? Don’t you have chaos to wreak somewhere?”
“ZHE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT AND WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU?” He barks.
“Oh, poor Alpha. Afraid of a Siren? Hasn’t anyone told you that we’re real?” You allow yourself to show your sharpened teeth. “Afraid to be a victim instead of prey?” You let out a hearty laugh. It was nice to scare the shit out of a haughty Alpha every now and again. Legendary creatures like you deserve respect.
“You have no idea who you're talking to, you Omega of sorts!” He breaks free from the end of your tail. He moves so that he was standing again and from up close he had a far more imposing figure at 6 feet tall.
“Oooooh I’m so scared~” You back up a little. Sensing that if you stayed too close he’d bring you back to one of the many facilities and strip you of any freedom you had. Only to be sold off to some asshole as entertainment.
“I’m a head General and I’m the only one who can demand respect.” He spits out. The veins in his head were beginning to show.
“Ooooooooooooooooh.” You give him a wink as you summon your spear. You were going to take this asshole down. “Someone needs to cut down that overblown ego the lot of you Alpha’s tend to have.” You try to stab him directly in his heart but he backs away and puts his arms up for protection. You miss and make a deep gash within his forearm. Some of his blood gushes out quickly dissolving into the salty waters. You only heard a slight grunt from the now irritated Alpha General.
“You’re defiance is not cute you mermaid or whatever zhe hell you are!” As he tries to lunge at you, you swipe your tail in his face flinging some sand directly into his eyes. You weren’t going to be his victim tonight. A shocked yelp could be heard. You’d blinded your victim and once again your tail was on his ankle as you pulled into the depths of the glimmering sea. His only falls in with an audible thud as he hit the water.
“I’m not some weakling!” You shout out and you began to swim forward. Before you could even get within 5 feet deep of the ocean. Ludwig grabs onto one of the eroded rocks even with his eyes still closed. When you realized that you were unable to yank him further. You felt a few harsh kicks to your tail and released the angered General.
Ludwig used some of the water to wash his eyes clean of the sand and readied himself for a fight. He reached for his gun.
Had swam back to your original fairy chimney so you could see where he’d gone. He was swiving his head around searching for you.
“COME BACK OUT AND FIGHT ME BEAST!”
“Oh booooo how rude!” You yell out to him. A few gunshots fire off in your direction. “Time to bail. Until next time you cute but annoying German Dog man.” You giggle to yourself as you swim away. Ludwig was only able to hear an audible splash but couldn’t see where you’d escaped.
“Damn it. He got away.”

Israel's assault on Gaza better change international law. States should no longer be able to abstain from signing and ratifying humanitarian law. Israel has not ratified the Rome Statute. Human rights must be unequivocally agreed upon.
War is a continuation of policy by other means, and war does follow a particular set of rules. These rules should never permit crimes against humanity—to a good extent, they don't. But the relevant international agreements require party states to sign and ratify these agreements into law before they can be applied to that same state. Belligerents must be held accountable regardless of their signing and ratifying.
Intervention must be genuine, without allowing war by proxy, and must not allow war by attrition. The R2P has failed several times in this regard, and the UN as a global body severely miscalculated its own competency—a pattern of behaviour. Retaliation between states in "unprovoked" attacks may be necessary—this is an unavoidable fact of human behaviour. However, the punishment must fit the crime. Israel's assault on Gaza is not happening in a vacuum and should not be treated as such. Hamas's attack on Israel was not created in a vacuum and should not be treated as such. Whether or not Israel was instrumental in creating Hamas, or to what degree, I don't know. I do know that Hamas and other extremist groups tend to form under pressure, whether legitimate or perceived, i.e. manufactured pressure.
In the last 80 odd years, Israel has been the equivalent of a playground bully. Never caught, never responsible. It is not unreasonable to look at the history of Israel and its relations with the surrounding Arab countries and realize that Israel is indeed the perpetrator of quite a few conflicts. The forgiveness that the West has shown to Israel stems from both their own overcompensation for their complicity in the Holocaust, and from their economic interests in the region, to which Israel by virtue of being friendly is their open door. The mending relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia brokered by the Biden administrations have been broken. Iran funds Hamas and is neutral to Saudi, but holds negative views of America, and considers Israel its number one enemy. Net negative for Iran, if Israel and Saudi managed to become friendly. But, the punishment will never fit the crime. Hamas killed 1,300 and captured 199, while Israel carpet bombs Gaza in retaliation, killing thousands. The death toll rises every day.
So many Western powers have bent over backwards for Israel in the interest of maintaining a good standing with the Israeli Jewish community. Predictably following the Nakba, Israel's right to exist as a state has been protected by those very same Western powers. The displacement of Palestinians? A minor inconvenience for the colonizers. Instead of allowing Palestinians and Jewish people displaced and destroyed from the Holocaust coexist in a region that is rightfully the homeland for both people, the West has consistently pushed for the slow but steady eradication of native Palestinians. They apologize for one genocide by funding another. Look to the Gaza Resolution set forth by Russia to the UNSC. Nine affirming votes are needed to pass the resolution. The vote failed, with three Western powers plus Japan (i.e. four powers with histories of colonization and genocide) voting against. This is an explicit message: the West will continue to profit from this war.
The ability to rapidly share news worldwide affects support and dissent. Local and regional conflicts have and will continue to become global issues, as long as those conflicts are made public to the world. Israel's assault on Gaza is a prime example of social media being used as a tool of state propaganda. Statements put forth on official X (formerly Twitter) accounts indicated Israel's intent to commit genocide and ethnically cleanse Gaza for the sake of reaching the Hamas tunnels. These tweets have since been deleted. Israel has consistently been fact-checked by community notes. The latest propaganda is their claim about the hospital bombing, that it was caused by a Palestinian rocket misfire. And news sources are eating it up. Tell me, BBC, since you so happily posted about Hamas tunnels under schools and hospitals, do you think that if Hamas had this kind of bomb in its artillery, it would not have used it against Israel long ago? Which is more consistent? A powerful military that is currently carpet bombing Gaza or a group of extremists with a known pattern of firing weak rockets?
The West's stance is inconsistent and shameful. Israel's claims are inconsistent and shameful. If an Israeli ground assault takes place within the next week, I'll win War Crime Bingo. Never again is now.

I was literally about to send an anon asking u what ur fav fatt opening is for partizan and you post one of mine damn (second is ep.29)
haha this one is cruel because pzn is my favourite season!! i have so many!!! I'm gonna limit myself to only main season, though the one i posted for r2p is just. augh. gur sevraq my beloved.
Ok so my favourites include ALSO episode 29, I will never forget the way I felt when austin hit that "in death, she could be something she never was in life: useful" ending it made the hairs on my arm stand up. Just such a good opening that ends so well.
Episode 5!!! It does such a good job of setting up the stels and imperialism and it really set the tone of the season for me. I was sold on the season the moment I heard priests pop stars and police in 00, but this was the intro where i GOT what it all was, I think. Orion beliefs and the elect-divine relationship...whew.
Episodes 13 and 14!!! Episode 14 spotlights my BOY my DARLING my BELOVED Jesset City who is perfect and I love him forever. This intro made me fall head over heels in love w him. Instant fave NPC, tied with Gur. And then 13...the crysanth intros are chilling in so many ways. "And when the True Divine asks who saved the Principality from its wrath, God will know our name." You know!!
I'm also fond of all the Millennium Break intros (esp ep 24), the Witch In Glass openings, and the Finale, but these are probably my standouts.

You know, with whatever the *gesture wildly at America* is going on, can't help but wonder where are all the fixit fic from political science, social science students and the like? Isn't this what we study for? The bs of politics may prevent things from being real and there are troves of published IPs about a fantasy land somewhere that has things done well for them but what about us?
Maybe, I don't know, what's going on with Florida currently. Yes, we understand that decades of gerrymandering have stripped the power of the people and enabled that ruling interest to extract and exploit to enrich their patrons. And yes, let's not go all "screw Florida" and "they deserve it for all of the shit they've done" because the action of the elite few also harms the population which has tried and failed to change, not they are a monolith that is uniformly ignorant or advocate for the same interest.
And any IR students ever studied economic sanctions can tell you that regardless of its effectiveness in instituting change, sanctions hurt the population more. Taking away federal funding from those states most likely mean the people who need it the most (from disaster, poverty, medical assistance program, even schools) will lose access to it, further worsen their life. Because that local government may not already be interested in funding those programs in the beginning, and yes they have only been taking the federal funding for themselves or other non-social welfare programs.
So how about this? A fixit fic based on the concept of Responsibility to Protect (R2P) born out of the 1990s where the international community considers the very specific conditions where the need to save a population from genocide or systemic violence override the respect for sovereignty. Yes, we need a distinct concept to basically go into another country to do good because it is the year 1990s and we're not imperialist colonizers anymore haha. But anyway how about that? Federal government just go into those states and do those things, you know, that they have a bunch of practice elsewhere in the world? Safe passage for refugee for instance, for those wishing to get the hell out of those holes. Relief program delivering food, necessities, water during flood or, maybe, preventable-but-happen-anyway power outage done not by the local government because they don't care anyway, but by the feds or an independent third party like the absolute symbolic-and-dubiously-effective UN Peacekeeper Red Cross or Doctors without Borders. Or, even better, satisfying the military industrial complex as well, initiating an armed campaign under the guise of "we installed nuclear weapons there" or "this is a failed state that threatens our security" and just overthrow that local government so that others will accuse you of regime change. And 20 years later, Hollywood will produce a summer blockbuster titled something like "24 Hours: Red vs Blue" by Michael Bay that half the country will not care about.
That is, if the Writer's Strike and the Actor's Strike end by then.
Please recommend me tag or blog to follow for this kind of fic Im desperate

Learn more about the R2P doctrine here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Responsibility_to_protect
I would call it one of the most significant developments to come out of universal human rights in the 21st century.
