If you go to the song My Goodbye on Spotify, there is a new animation clip I don’t remember seeing before, and it depicts Odysseus falling into the realm of quick thought, and it takes place on the hourglass, and it’s so cool-

you said were meeting up with someone for lunch. you didn't specify who and you didn't seem like you wanted to. his heart dropped at the mention of someone else and there was only silence between the two of you. it was a piercing needle of reality popping his lovesick bubble.

you seemed disappointed by his silence, a slight frown pulling at the corners of your lips. you merely returned his silence and stood up to look for your shirt.

you're tying your shoes when he finally speaks up.

"don't go." you don't look up, but he knows you heard him because your hands are frozen above your shoes with your laces pinched between your fingers. "stay...here. with me."

you huff out a sigh, finally looking up with inquiring eyes.

"what are you saying, steven?"

"i don't want to do this anymore." you drop your laces and turn your body to face his. everything just spills from his lips, "i know you just wanted help to please your next partner, but i can't stand the idea of seeing you with anyone but myself."

"steven..." you stand up and walk over to the bed where he sits, carelessly leaving your one shoe untied. you rest a hand on his shoulder, urging him to meet your gaze. dark lashes frame his warm brown eyes. "there isn't anyone else."

he blinks as a dusting of pink rises to his cheeks, confused and a bit embarrassed. "...there isn't?"

"no."

"then who are you seeing for lunch?"

"there is no lunch." you confess, "it's selfish, but i just wanted you to tell me not to go..."

gentle fingers wrap around your wrist, "then don't."

"steven, i already told you, there is no lun--"

you yelp when you're abruptly pulled against him, your chest meeting his. "don't go. ever." his other hand cradles your jaw and pulls you in until your lips are nearly touching his. "stay with me." his voice lowers to a whisper, but you swear you can feel the vibrations flood through your body.

"ok."

Quick thoughts about Takara's treasure (EP 11):

I always feel great when I'm rewarded with a spin off or a special episode. You got to see a universe with characters you learned to appreciate and you can dive into it for another time. It's so satisfying.

It was interesting to see the love between Takara and Taishin through the eyes of their observant fellow club member. She kinda represents the viewers and it adds another layer of perception.

Takara and Taishin's love is gentle and so subtle. Everything is in the way they speak to each other, the gentle care and gesture between them and the way they look at one another. I feel this episode shows us how their relation will continue to work because they find peace and happiness in small moments spent together.

I guess when you watch so many series of movies you get used to big grand gestures of love. However, in everyday life it's more simple just like Takara and Taishin's love. Even if the separation while Takara was hiking abroad wasn't easy, they found a way to make it and they are willing to stay together. It's nice and comforting.

I'm glad I could see them again one last time.

Sure, I miss Norman’s performance but he’s probably busy with other stuff and I understand. Striker’s voice was slightly deeper than last time, but overall it didn’t lose what made him badass and “sexy” (according to Stolas).

So something that always disappointed me in the series was the reveal that Queen Oasis was actually killed by scavengers. Not even with something animus-touched or careful planning, it was entirely unintentional.

In the past (pre-Dragonslayer), my personal theory about this was that somehow Blister had led Oasis to her death because she knew beating her in a fight wasn't a viable option. Maybe she provided the scavengers with an animus-touched treasure that would enable them to kill her. Maybe she managed to ambush/kill Oasis herself and frame the scavengers.

I still prefer this outcome, and I think it would serve as an example of Blister being clever and manipulative.

4Minutes: more craziness, but still a compelling story (EP 3):

So many great idea around here about the series, but I want to concentrate on the idea of parallel universe mixed with the time travel. In this world of fiction the parallel universe serves one purpose. It's the starting point of the question "what if this event turned differently?" There are two things that would explain these parallel universe: the time traveling / visions Great has and how when modifying his choices he is creating them, or the concept of Sidewise in Time from Murray Leinster. My own crazy theory is based on the phenomenon Great is experiencing with time. He has noticed that every time he is alone, his clocks are stuck on one time 11:01 at the begginnig of the episode 3 and now we've reached 11:02. This phenomenon is happening only when he is by himself. Otherwise, when he is with someone, he can see the time as it's supposed to go by. When the series started the clock was stuck on 11:00. I feel like each time the clock is moving, Great got a vision of another parallel universe. We're on number 2 right now. I feel like next episode will be a pivotal point in the story as we're reaching episode 4 and this number has been really important in the series. After all Great has the ability of going back to the past, 4 minutes ago. There is also a real symbolism around the number 4.

In addition to this time traveling ability, Great also has the possibility of seeing the parallel universe. For me, it was shown by his visions. He would get to see something different by looking at one object or one person. For example, in today's episode when he received the drink from Tyme he saw two messages written on it: one that is in his reality asking him to take care of his wounds and another one in a parallel reality asking for his forgiveness. These realities/universe overlaps and Great is the only one to be able to get them.

I like this idea more than the concept of different timelines. I feel like it's also translating well with other characters who have no "power" like Great. On the relationship that Tonkla has with Korn and Win, you can see a parallel of actions with different reaction. With Korn, Tonkla is more subdued in his desire and attention, while with Win he is taking the lead and seeking/obtaining what he wants. We get two lovers stories, but different results while also having a common factor. It's the representation of parallel universe/realities overlapping for me. I feel like all the noir fiction elements in the series serve only as an excuse to show these parallel universes/realities and to create a tension so we're always on the edge to know what is going on, and yet, there is still something missing. It will keep us hooked until the end.

Why does Courtney remain on Alejandro’s side in WT, even after her elimination?

Bridgette and Leshawna, the other two who appear as puppets in ‘This Is How We Will End It’ resent Alejandro after the cause of their eliminations. So does everyone else.

Except for Courtney, who even after KNOWING of Alejandro’s schemes, and that he used her, STILL, at her own free will, sides with him.

Now yes Lindsay sides with him too, but 1) She would likely want to be on the non-Heather side anyway 2) She was one of the few people Alejandro has not caused the elimination of, so she doesn’t hold beef against him.

So why does Courtney stay?

It has to do with her desperate need of control.

Courtney has always controlled people of tried to, to benefit herself. In that sense she relates to Alejandro and sees him as just and the good guy. Especially compared to Heather.

In Courtney’s mind, this behavior is right, and she is NEVER to blame for the bad stuff that happens to her.

But ironically it’s this behavior that she pushes away opportunities for relationships.

She even says so in an Action confessional, telling a story about how a classmate walked out on her and yet she won anyway:

“You want something done, you do it yourself.”

The only characters she ever considers friends throughout the WHOLE SHOW are Duncan and Gwen. Even then, even though she cared about them, (emphasis on the past tense in this sentence) she chose the win over them and used them.

When she dated Duncan, her goal was to change him into a male counterpart of her, and she considered the effort to be ‘love.’

I said it before, I do believe she genuinely loved Duncan in her mind, but that doesn’t excuse her actions, it just explains it.

Then even before the love triangle even happened, Courtney’s only concern of Gwen is whether or not she’d be risky competition to take to the finals. She even asks, “How do you think they’ll make us turn on each other?” Or something on the lines of that.

As though that is her only concern.

In that same episode where she asks this, she reveals her plans to change Duncan still, revealing she has learned nothing.

When writing a negative character arc, the character often doesn’t learn a lesson that makes them better.

In fact Courtney and Gwen’s friendship is solely circumstantial. They’re the only non-simps, non-crazy, non-Heather people on their team. So they have to work together and get along. Then in All Stars their friendships is basically: “We share the same awful ex boyfriend. Ha ha.”

But of course, in Courtney’s POV, she becomes the one who was always in the right.

Duncan and Gwen both betray her, PERSONALLY. Of course she’d be out for blood.

The only people she ever became friends with go behind her back and disregard her feelings.

This is another Britney Reed. It’s further proof that Courtney is far better off alone.

Only when she’s in control and the ONLY one in control, will there be peace in the world.

And in the end of her run on the show, it’s the only thing she cares about.

So why let Alejandro use her?

Well… she doesn’t.

If you really look into it, Courtney only helps Alejandro at her OWN WILL.

Unlike Bridgette and Leshawna, who only needed seduction, Courtney was already trying to kill Gwen and sabotage her team BEFORE Alejandro even tried to convince her.

In Episode 16, he tries to convince her only for HER to say she’s trying to do things herself.

She doesn’t need Alejandro to screw her over.

And actually, Alejandro does NOT even plan to ditch Courtney in episode 20. They vote Blaineley. It’s only proof in Courtney’s mind that Alejandro is not only her only ally who will listen to her, but also the definitive example of what a winner looks like.

So even after she loses, she thrusts the conversation of eliminated characters helping the finalists, so she can take matters into her own hands on how the game plays out.

This is HER being the one in control of the victor she deems best suited.

Looking into her character arc more, you learn more the more you think about it.
