Athena 100% helped him!! Jorge shared a video a while back about how you can hear the Quick Thought sound in that song, and it’s meant to show she is helping plan the next move before he attacks!!

If someone would have told me Caged Again would be a series about the complex feeling of betrayal, love, comfort and trauma with animals that became humans... I'm not sure I would have believed it was a real series (but it is and it's great).

The synopsis doesn't give enough credit to this very interesting story. The fantasy elements are nice, but it's a character-driven story. It's their personal journey that makes you feel fully engaged.

These characters are very compelling and you can't be unmoved by the struggle of Sun or the overwhelming pain of Junior when he discovered his "father" wasn't as loving as he thought he was.

This episode 4 makes you experience so many emotions. It feels like a rollercoaster and in the end the hug is so tight because they both needed to cling to the other one so they don't feel like being out of their depth.

I felt so much in this episode.

this is one of the few times he hasn't held you in his arms afterwards. he feels empty. alone. he wants to reach out, stop your frantic searching, and tug you onto his lap. he wants to nuzzle his face into the crook of your neck and breathe you in. he wants you to stay.

you said were meeting up with someone for lunch. you didn't specify who and you didn't seem like you wanted to. his heart dropped at the mention of someone else and there was only silence between the two of you. it was a piercing needle of reality popping his lovesick bubble.

you seemed disappointed by his silence, a slight frown pulling at the corners of your lips. you merely returned his silence and stood up to look for your shirt.

you're tying your shoes when he finally speaks up.

"don't go." you don't look up, but he knows you heard him because your hands are frozen above your shoes with your laces pinched between your fingers. "stay...here. with me."

you huff out a sigh, finally looking up with inquiring eyes.

"what are you saying, steven?"

"i don't want to do this anymore." you drop your laces and turn your body to face his. everything just spills from his lips, "i know you just wanted help to please your next partner, but i can't stand the idea of seeing you with anyone but myself."

"steven..." you stand up and walk over to the bed where he sits, carelessly leaving your one shoe untied. you rest a hand on his shoulder, urging him to meet your gaze. dark lashes frame his warm brown eyes. "there isn't anyone else."

he blinks as a dusting of pink rises to his cheeks, confused and a bit embarrassed. "...there isn't?"

"no."

"then who are you seeing for lunch?"

"there is no lunch." you confess, "it's selfish, but i just wanted you to tell me not to go..."

gentle fingers wrap around your wrist, "then don't."

"steven, i already told you, there is no lun--"

you yelp when you're abruptly pulled against him, your chest meeting his. "don't go. ever." his other hand cradles your jaw and pulls you in until your lips are nearly touching his. "stay with me." his voice lowers to a whisper, but you swear you can feel the vibrations flood through your body.

Damn, is it just me or did Ed do a great job voicing Striker this episode?

Sure, I miss Norman’s performance but he’s probably busy with other stuff and I understand. Striker’s voice was slightly deeper than last time, but overall it didn’t lose what made him badass and “sexy” (according to Stolas).

So I was reading about special relativity. It's fucking fascinating. And I just had a quick thought a la the twin paradox: if a human was living in our regular world, their twin living in a spaceship travelling at 99.5% of the speed of light would appear to be aging 10x slower but really they would be experiencing the same amount of life as each other as the twin in the spaceship's thoughts and actions would be slowed down 10x too. Quick thought would be like having the world travel in the spaceship (it gets the slow mo) but allowing your mind to be on earth stationary relative to the spaceship (without the 10x slower mo)

Special relativity is epic and Athena's powers make my nerdy physics self happy beyond infinity

When did Taishin grow up so fast?! I'm so proud of him. He is just so comfortable with Takara and so sure of his feelings for him now. He was giving him the reinsurance he needed because Takara is just too afraid of being like his mom and making the same mistakes she did.

I had such a good time watching this episode... If we forget about the inauspicious text message that will certainly cause problems next week.

Something that won't leave my head is in Remember them, does Odysseus just... leave Quick Thought? Independently?

Like before he addresses Polyphemus there is no Quick Thought sound and Athena does not sound like she's done talking at all. To me it really sounds like he decides to cut her off and go back. But like... How? He's famously just a man and it's not like time passes but Athena has no reason to let him out of her mind in that moment if she really does not want him to do this.

Idk thoughts? Cos I don't think this actually happened but I also kinda think this happened and the idea that Odysseus can do that intrigues me.

So something that always disappointed me in the series was the reveal that Queen Oasis was actually killed by scavengers. Not even with something animus-touched or careful planning, it was entirely unintentional.

In the past (pre-Dragonslayer), my personal theory about this was that somehow Blister had led Oasis to her death because she knew beating her in a fight wasn't a viable option. Maybe she provided the scavengers with an animus-touched treasure that would enable them to kill her. Maybe she managed to ambush/kill Oasis herself and frame the scavengers.

I still prefer this outcome, and I think it would serve as an example of Blister being clever and manipulative.
