Just finished Blue Eye Samurai on Netflix and it was incredible.
Spoilers!!
The Art, the murder, Mizu's pure and unending rage, the fact that Taigen is our 2020's Li Shang - bi awakening and all (y'all this man gave us a sexually fraught wrestling match between two supposed men that ended with him getting a bona-fide boner from being pinned down by his freind/rival/enemy/childhood victim). The discussions that will spawn about race and gender, Mizu's self-loathing quest for revenge on the men who potentially brought her/them/him into a world that was always going to despise her/them/him for even existing. Akemi "I want to be great" in response to Taigen "I don't care about being great, I just want to be happy".
EPISODE 5!! THE ONRYĹ!! EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS SHOW!!
But the thing that I'm obsessing over the most is that Mizu fucking burned Edo to the ground to kill Abijah, and then she/they/he didn't even fucking kill him! Hello? I know there's reasons and everything but still that city is burnt fucking dead and Mizu is just off on a boat to London with one of her three living potential fathers in the brig so she can better find the other two.
Also just "The biggest city in the world is burning to the ground as a blood sacrificeto your revenge. Your white half is showing." What a line Abijah you goddamn madlad.
I'm frothing at the mouth for season 2
#blue eye samurai#mizu#taigen#akemi blue eye samurai#abijah fowler#li shang#mulan#every line out of abijah fowler's mouth is just *chef's kiss*#he's such a villanous piece of shit#âyour bones break like a womansâ#he's irish#he's one of four white men who have been in Japan in the past 2.5 decades#he did his waiting#12 years of it#at the top of a very fancy castle that he had full control of#abijah lovers where you at?#or am I just shouting into the void like a psychopath#âdidn't i kill youâ he's such an insidious asshole#i love him(derogatory)

Audiodrama Sunday 10/20/24
Happy Audio Drama Sunday! I think I'm going to stick with the more abridged format I did last week, just because I'm spending so much time writing these.
@worldsbeyondpod - âWeâre having different daysâ really summed up this episode. I wonder how many episodes the party is going to stay split this time.
@lostterminalpod - Seth receives yet more ominous visions. The abandoned space base is very cool, you can tell how much research goes into this show.
Spout Lore - Aquariaâs moss suit concept is a very cool idea. The gang are finally going to complete the real quest - reuniting the whole wizard polycule. I laughed out loud at Tuk trying to write through Blackspire.
@midstpodcast - I finally got around to listening to the first 2 episodes of Unend. Star trek in Midst is a great premise, can't wait for more of this show.
@midnightburgr - Speaking of Midst, Third Person cameo?! Third person as a trio of AIs was great. Itâs such a trip to recognize every new VA in an episode of an audiodrama.
Rude Tales Of Magic - Glad to see this show returning to its roots with genuinely terrifying monsters. I'm never going to forget Kebin.
@breakerwhiskey - A full listener transmission! Itâs so cool how the listener transmissions are becoming canon and affecting the story.
Skyjacks: Courier's Call - The kids are reunited, at least temporarily! Kiran neglecting to mention that the person theyâre dating is a ghost is so funny, Iâm really excited to see where that relationship goes this season.
@storiesfromylelmore relisten - I've been recovering from getting my wisdom teeth out, so I decided to relisten to Ylelmore while recovering. The standout was Rion's character arc, which holds up really well on a relisten, even without knowing where it's going to end up at the end of this season.
Second Fiddles - We finally learn where tammy is! I like the naĂŻve happy go lucky character who thinks that they have good luck but actually have terrible luck.
One of these days I really need to update my audiodrama website, I have like 10 shows that need to be added or updated.

I finished stargate sg-1 a bit ago but instead of a full series review for now I'll be sharing my thoughts on seasons 9 and 10, Ark of Truth, and Continuum! These are just my opinions and I am more than happy to hear anyone else's thoughts and discuss. Everything is below the cut : )
I can understand why the plot and cast change would put a lot of people off the last two seasons, and it's possible that had I watched the show as it aired, my opinion would be different. But having known those things were going to happen I went in with an open mind. I ended up really enjoying season 9. Maybe it was the novelty, but I was mostly down with the Ori plotline starting out. It seemed like the writers had crafted a strong villain with a compelling storyline. Surprisingly I liked Vala and her dynamic with Daniel (considering I didn't like prometheus unbound) and while it took me a bit, I grew to love Cam. All around season 9 was a solid season with an interesting new villain and new characters.
Season 10 I enjoyed less.
It wasn't necessarily bad. There were a good bit of high points (the first 3 episodes, most of 200, the quest, the shroud, and bad guys to name a few) but ultimately I felt it wasn't as strong of a final season as it should've been. The Ori plot had so much potential but the ending was lacking. I also felt Unending wasn't a strong conclusion to the series. I would honestly prefer not to think about it. Enter Ark of Truth, a movie I found all over the place and disappointing. But at least they tried to wrap up the Ori stuff, I guess?
Fortunately, the writers did redeem themselves with Continuum! I found it very entertaining and fun. Definitely miles above Unending or Ark of Truth.
The general fandom consensus seems to be that the season 8 finale was a better ending to the show, which I agree with. I totally get stopping after season 8 if you want a nice, satisfying conclusion. However, I don't think everything after that should be completely written off. I genuinely think season 9 was good. If season 9 has one fan that is me. If season 9 has no fans then I am dead.
I'd at least recommend watching through season 9 and Continuum. Sure, you won't get an ending to the Ori story but you don't really get that if you watch all of it either :)
#i will eventually review all of sg1 but i need to rewatch it to do it justice. there's so much and i know i missed a lot this first go roun#also it should be said that even though i'm a season 9 defender there are some things i take issue with. just like with previous seasons#let's pretend i don't have at least two other paragraphs long drafts with my thoughts on the last two seasons#stargate sg1#taqueue bell

Skyrim and Civil War
You know, there are ways to make good morally grey conflicts, but Skyrim's Civil War is not one of them. However instead of talking about how undercooked it was (it was), I want to talk about the underlying concept of it. Sometimes just saying "add more content" isn't a reasonable critique when it comes to a product that needs to come out (there are graveyards of games that never stopped developing).
The issue with Skyrim's civil war -
It puts a lot of emphasis on Talos, a god that tbh I don't think needed it and wasn't referenced until the third game. IDK this is more personal but I'd prefer Talos just be a hero-god of Cyrodiil/Skyrim you know? (Oh that guy who conquered you all and forced you into his empire, which some of you are old enough to remember? worship him pls)
It's morally grey, but in the "I hate both of these options way". There historical precedents for a nationalist movement opposing imperialism, and there are precedents for rebellions occurring from princes or nobles who want take power. However the conflict feels more like neoliberal democrat versus libertarian republican, aka I hate em both and the difference is minimal. It's like if someone wanted to do the US civil war but they really thought it was about states' rights. It's like Braveheart but worst.
It's both the impetus for the plot (the dragonborn prophecy) and shows up in the main quest, but ONLY if you don't interact with it (too much). And there's incentive not to, as it provides a cool quest that is optional and you can remove a jarl or two you don't like depending on how it goes. Otherwise you can really ignore it, and you're standing with any guild or city isn't really referenced except when the new Jarl takes over.
It's an excuse for chuds to make stormcloak memes after they're done making Morrowind slavery memes.
OK i know what I said about content but yeah the gameplay aspect isn't great with one or two exceptions (the siege of Whiterun and Solitude/Windhelm). The lack of say and options as a nation's folk hero truly shines here. It's like if during the US civil war Jesus showed up, killed the devil and then everyone said "thank you but we need you to blackmail a secretary".
You could make it work. There's a phrase the comes up in the game, Season Unending, which the nords used to mean war. You could put an anti-war theme or something regarding the cyclical nature of violence, even if people didn't agree it would be saying something. Personally, I'd use the 30 years war as inspiration - a religious and political conflict about an empire with multiple actors, all of which causing mayhem to the countryside.
Here are my solutions which don't involve any additional content, but instead changes/removal.
The Civil War ended at the beginning of the game. You see Ulfric die, his forces are scattered and the jarls with him are left picking up the pieces, but the Empire doesn't have the funds to restore control nor pay its soldiers. This helps explains why forts are ruined and the high number of bandits - they are soldiers/deserters looking for a payday. It also creates a narrative of trying to see who Ulfric Stormcloak was using unreliable narrators and maybe a bit of tragedy for a guy who thought he was The Guy (but in fact You're The Guy).
The Civil War ended years ago. Same as above, but make it more tamed. This would be the closest to just removing it entirely.
Make it a rebellion and have the player be a part of it. It would be so interesting a contrast to be against the empire after four games directly or indirectly aiding it. Now you could either try to do something thoughtful about revolutions and violence and the character of that rebel army, or you could just do Braveheart, but either way people would probably be more invested in it.
Don't let us join either side. The Empire's rulers claim the title dragonborn, and having some shmuck say he is would not be in their interest. Ulfric claims tradition and his power of the voice, not saying but implying a connection to Talos, and so he would not want you as a threat to his power. Have both groups be awful, and hammer home how these nobles might all claim to be different, but they slaughter the peasants all the same.
These aren't perfect solutions, and tbh the quality and quantity of the writers on board a project are going to impact any idea. But still, I think I'd prefer these options than what we got in game.

It is 2022, and there is time for Potion Permit.
Maybe not, like. A lot of time. But enough.
In this twist on the farming sim genre, you are a chemist (read: alchemist) from the capital of a vaguely steampunk country, sent to the remote island of Moonbury as an olive branch to the community. Many years ago, chemists wreaked havoc on the island's flora, and the bad blood still lingers.
As the new local chemist, you spend your days gathering ingredients from the local flora and fauna for your potions so you can treat the townsfolk when they fall ill. The townspeople are pretty standard vaguely-steampunk folks, though out in the boonies and so more reliant on traditional trades than it's implied the big city folk are. Like any good farming sim, there's a dating sim element, too: some of the townsfolk are romancable.
It's all very cozy and reminiscent of the early days of a Stardew Valley game, where gathering wild resources provides a supplement to your farm as you get your feet under you.
Except...
Well, that really is all the game is built around. To explain, it's a very shallow experience compared to your Stardew Valley or your Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons. In particular, it really suffers from the lack of any real in-game calendar.
One of the big draws of these kinds of games - farming sims and close relatives - is the wish fulfillment of getting out into nature and feeling its rhythms. And on the nuts-and-bolts gameplay side of things, these kinds of games rely on the feeling of time passing and natural cycles to break up the monotony of the gameplay loop. For example: sure you might still be farming the same nine squares you tilled in spring, but it's autumn now and the harvest festival is around the corner, and after that will be winter so if you don't have a greenhouse you'd better be ready for mining.
Potion Permit does have an in-game week and the characters have schedules based on it, but there's no real sense of time passing. It doesn't have to be a four-seasons temperate climate or anything (the development team is the Indonesian MassHive Media, so a wet/dry season system would've been pretty cool) but without it, the game becomes an unending samey drone after a while. There are no festivals or birthdays to look forward to. Potion ingredients don't cycle. Hell, diseases don't cycle: characters just come down with random ailments that usually don't have anything to do with each other.
As for the townsfolk themselves, eh, they're fine. There were, I think, a few baffling decisions about who's romancable and who isn't (whyyyy is the farmer not romancable, his mother is even trying to get him hooked up with somebody), and I sense some amount of 'swing and a miss' with their handling of sensitive topics and mental health concerns. Still, it's a small indie team, and for me at least I can forgive it as a sincere effort with some rough edges.
That said, the relationship system is pared down compared to other games in the genre. No one has any favourites: everyone gets the same gift of the local tea, which you earn for treating patients and for completing relationship quests. The romances never advance past dating, either. And the event flags for the main quest and for relationships are completely decoupled: I dated my former rival and got his relationship to that point before doing a few endgame things, and this wasn't acknowledged At All. It does let you romance whoever you want regardless of gender, at least, and perhaps because of the shallow system you can date multiple characters without issue.
Speaking of the endgame, the game just kind of... peters out, storywise. Oh, there's a party when you Become The Local Hero, but it doesn't take any ingame time and you don't even rest after it. There isn't even a credits roll. You're just booted out of the party cutscene to outside of the tavern with the same ingame time as when you started.
For all my misgivings, though, I enjoyed most of my time with Potion Permit. I don't think I'll be buying it (I borrowed it from the library for my Switch), but it occupied the time and felt nice while it lasted. Not really recommended, but not really not recommended, either.

if it came to that i would do the stupid civil war but the problem is when you battle to take over a city it just gets ugly and fucked up and partially burnt down forever? the alternative is to peacefully cede the various cities (literally just windhelm) back and forth via season unending but thatâs, like, really deep into the main quest, which we have never been particularly interested in anyway. i guess we can download a mod to make the cities get better but we are honestly afraid of it not working!

okay just spent hours doing nothing but drawing elbelion so uh here he is in my attempt to draw his armor (and not drawing torment in the damn slightest so it looks like shit)
still haven't drawn the helmet which is a problem but i'll get there eventually
gonna be honest used this here to get a grasp on posing bc uuhhhh i don't have the mental energy to spent hours focusing on that
for the text on the drawing w/ extra additons (warning: biiig text wall. i ramble. i do not shut up.)
also now that i look at this i drew torment on the wrong side of his body.
(here's a link to his toyhou.se page if you're curious)
Elbelion Bluepool (also called Elb by friends & family and Elbe by Bryn)
The Last Dragonborn
â Commonly known as The Steel Soldier on account on having Peladius' enchanted armor. He usually wears the helmet when he's not in a hold save for the rare occasion he takes it off outside of a hold.
â Basically blind due to reading two Elder Scrolls (albeit very spaced out) as there's a period of time that passes before Dawnguard events start. I stole his plot armor
â Herma-Mora's (unwilling) Champion & the unwitting instrument of Mehrunes Dagon. Considering the Skaal & Bosmer both say Herma-Mora, Elb's gathered that Hermaeus Mora & the Woodland Man are similar enough if not literally the same entity. Also after dealing with Mora during Discerning the Transmundane and Dragonborn, he shoved the black books in a chest and hid said chest hoping the books would just vanish from there eventually. All of these events thoroughly messed him up
â For whatever reason, people love using him for their nefarious plots. This has contributed to his current attitude .owards strangers outside of the holds. Some argonian tried to turn him into a blood sacrifice and he felt a little used by the Blades (not to mention Arch-Curate Vyrthur, Mora, and the Mythic Dawn) so it's not like he can be blamed exactly.
â Socially awkwardâbad at persuasion. Got through Season Unending with the most anxiety an elf will ever have. He also got snappy at both sides of the war.
â Somehow VERY intimidating despite being a Bosmer. He's tiny compared to most people. (based off the fact I regularly fail persuasion checks but pass intimidation checks with flying colors. it's really funny imagery)
extra things not on there:
In order of what events happen, he goes through the main quest, the mini quest involving Ironbind Barrow, Dawnguard, Dragonborn, a bunch of Solstheim questlines, and then The Cause.
(points to the entire Bosmer race) Sharp canines and strong jawsâfor eating meat or biting a hole in your enemies' arms
Has Auriel's Shield
Had a cheatnut horse named Glade for a while up until he went to the Soul Cairn where he gets the conjuration spell for Arvak. Then he lets the guild use Glade. Occasionally summons the Daedric Horse by accident.
(Saying now that I imagine followers hopping on the back of whatever mount you're on. They deserve to be able to do that.)
Does the first two alone, then from Dawnguard to before The Cause he's with Serana. Then they talk about if she ever considered curing her vampirism and by the end of the conversation she decides to go through with it. During that Elb gets a letter and he decides well it shouldn't be that bad so he won't need the extra help right? and because cringe culture is dead Bryn decides to go with because something seems off and they eventually learn that it's that bad
Had about one friend for the longest timeâan Argonian who was also crossing the border around the same time. That argonian is the Dark Brotherhood Listener, Zane (@noah-moth-cursed-chaos' oc) and that was about it before he wandered into Riften and got wrapped up in the Thieves Guild.
Only time he became a Thane was just because he helped the Jarl of Falkreath, Siddgeir. It just kind of happened and then slipped his mind.
Due to how active he is with traveling (and the high respect he gets) it's very easy for him to sneak a job or two for the Thieves Guild. Not something he expected to find himself doing but uuhh he met Brynjolf and that just sealed his fate /j
Public Thalmor Enemy #1. They hate him so much. /hj Likeâboth Elenwen and Ancarion have had encounters with him and he is, again, fairly intimidating for a little guy.

Rules: post seven snippets and tag seven people.
Once again, all these are from Alexis Dalliance vs the Evil of Titan, in my unending quest to edit the damn thing.
One
The other elf⌠Now he was a conundrum. He stood, ramrod straight, directly in front of the Captain's desk. He'd yet to change into any issued armour, and still wore what amounted to peasant rags â a tatty, oversized, undyed shirt and brown woolen trousers darned to an inch of their life, the whole ensemble held together with rope suspenders. Alexis squinted, sniffing suspiciously. Yes, there was also a faint miasma of animal dung from his direction. An elven farmer was a distinctly unusual thing. One to keep an eye on, that was for sureâŚ
Two
On her way to the mess hall Alexis ran into Ithanor and Richard. It was Ithanor who heard her yelling to wait, where Richard would have sleep-walked on. Richard's limbs drooped, reminding her of a weeping willow, but Ithanor was as bright and alert as a holly tree in Autumn. As they made their way to the mess hall, Alexis told them about Captain Hengar. "I don't think he's fit for duty," she said. "But the townsfolk need organising to start work on repairs. I think I can convince him to eat and sleep. Richard, after last night you'll have their respect. You should coordinate the people." "Me!" Richard stopped coming alert as if he'd been slapped. "But⌠I don't know how. I wouldn't know what to do or what to say or-" "I'll do it," Ithanor said, holding up a hand to slow Richard's panic. "It's fine. They saw the three of us together, so if they respect and trust Richard, it should carry over. We'll get you to do a little speech and then I can take over giving the orders." "Good plan. If you see Yazty, send him my way?" Ithanor nodded. "Right then lads, let's get it done."
Three
Between the three of them, they managed to wrangle Hengar into bed, get the townspeople motivated, and begin work on the townâs reconstruction. Soon the air was filled with the sounds of workmen calling, rubble being shifted and sawing as seasoned timbers were brought out of storage. Once Hengar was deeply asleep, thanks to some concoction from Yaztromo, Alexis took any spare hands from the militia buildings to help with the town's efforts. Of Victor and Bastet there was no sign. But it didn't matter; Alexis knew that now Zagor was dead, they had some loose ends of their own to tie off.
Four
Following the Quartermaster's directions brought Alexis to a long room, filled end-to-end with bunk beds. A human with black hair and lieutenant's stripes held a slate, marking off filled bunks as he directed the recruits to their new sleeping places. Alexis froze in the doorway â there were so many people, so many sounds, so many smells. Talking and laughing, the tang of metal polish and reek of bodies. "Next! You there, don't dawdle." Alexis looked up at the lieutenant, eyes wide. "Not seen anything of the like before, eh?" he asked. Alexis nodded. "You'll get used to it, lass. Sixth on the right, against the wall." He squinted down at her. "Lower bunk." "Yessir," Alexis squeaked, and made her way to the assigned bunk.
Five
A half-elf followed shortly after, arriving as Alexis was trying to figure out which chest was hers. "You're my bunkmate, huh?" he asked. "Yeah. Alexis Dalliance." She held out a hand. He shook. "Holger Brodanic. I think that one is your chest," he added, pointing at the one against the wall. "Ta." "So how come they let a kid in? You lie about your age?" Brodanic asked as he put his own equipment away. "I'm not a child, I'm a full-grown adult." "You're awful short. You got some kinda sickness?" Alexis balled her hands, then released them slowly. "No. I'm an eshen. I'm actually tall for my kind." "Huh." Brodanic perched on the edge of the lower bunk with a lopsided smile. "My mother used to tell me stories about your lot. Mostly that if I didn't stay close to the village, an eshen would turn me into a tree." Alexis gave a puckish smile and wiggled her fingers. "Who's to say I won't?" For a split second Brodanic's face dropped, then he gave a tittering laugh. Alexis winked. "Nah, that's not something we can do." Brodanic stood, chucking her on the shoulder before bouncing up to his own bunk. "We're gonna make great bunkmates, Dalliance."
Six
Alexis smirked as she finished putting away her gear. Her ears twitched, making her stop and listen. Through the general hubbub of the barracks came the sound of angry, raised voices. Ensuring she could remember which bed was hers, she left, following the sounds of conflict back outside. In front of the the awning where the human had been taking in the recruits, an elf and the half-orc officer argued. The human â sheâd overheard some of the other militia say he was the Captain of this outfit, a man called Hengar â sat back in the chair watching the kerfuffle. Also joining in on the argument was another human, tall and broad, and another elf. Abruptly the Captain stood up. "Enough." He laid his hands flat on the table. "I wonât have dissent in the ranks before weâve even gotten anywhere. Vrog, take over. You three come with me." With that he left the half-orc standing there, striding towards the entrance. Alexis tried to back away, not wanting to be in trouble already, but she wasnât fast enough. "You there," Hengar pointed at her as he approached. "How much of that did you hear?" "Nothing, sir. You stopped as I arrived." Hengar grunted. "Where were you before?" "In the barracks, sir." An eyebrow raised. "Good ears on you, eh? You too then, come along." Alexis gulped, but dutifulled trailed along after the group, as Hengar lead the way to his office.
Seven
The end of the sewer pipe lead into a small alcove filled with long brushes and leather gauntlets and aprons. Quietly, they used these tools to remove the effluent from their legs. "I should scout ahead," Alexis said. "No offense but Iâm less likely to make a lot of noise while doing so, and I suspect my senses are more keen than yours." Ithanor glanced at their companions. No one disagreed. "Very well," he said. "We shall await your return. If you run into difficulties, holler, and we will come." Alexis nodded, her mouth set in a grim line. In a moment she was gone.

Markarth, Throat of the World & Sovngarde?
YAYYY hi bestie (beloved follower)
Markarth - If you could rewrite one questline in Skyrim, which would it be?
oh boy do i have OPINIONS. if i could rewrite on questline in skyrim i would rewrite the companions questline to Not Be The Companions
sorry. racist werewolves aside, i think i agree w u that it would be the dark brotherhood, but iâve got different ideas. idgaf abt astrid and cicero and the night mother i want oblivion back. the oblivion dark brotherhood questline is my favorite fucking questline in any video game, i swear to god. your first quest is to go sneak aboard a pirate ship?? you dive into the ocean to escape?? you can murder a guy by dropping his stuffed minotaur head or whatever tf that taxidermy is on him?? wildly sprinting away from bruma so his guard doesnât catch you and you still get the bonus?? THE MURDER MYSTERY DINNER PARTY??????
iâm sorry i just love oblivion so so so much. i would try and return some of that whimsy to the dark brotherhood. i mean, yeah, i guess we can keep the whole betrayal thing, but i never liked the night motherâs portrayal and just am not fond of any of the existing npcs there. also, including an assassination of the emperor was fucking stupid, i hate how tes tries to make it canon that your character is simultaneously the godsâ greatest gift to nirn and also sithis himself (whatâs the tes equivalent of the devil)
actually speaking of stupid canonical statuses i would rewrite the civil war questline to also not exist. fuck it the dragonborn is just a messenger now. the war doesnât have a finish within the game, we leave it at a standstill. like i said i have Opinions
Throat of the World - How do you feel about âSeason Unendingâ?
to be truthful with you beloved follower i didnât remember what this quest was. in recent times i havenât even gotten to diplomatic immunity. i always lose interest before i get that far LMFAO. that being said when i remembered what it was iâm vaguely fond of it. i think having a meeting where you just have to sit down and debate shit is fun. donât remember if it translates very well into a video game. love the idea of the dragonborn sitting there simmering with rage while everyone insults each other. think itâs really stupid that everyone somehow safely made the climb up the 7000 steps at the same time without guards carriages horses or food. youâre telling me elenwen hiked that shit?
Sovngarde - How would your Last Dragonborn celebrate after the battle with Alduin, or would they celebrate at all?
OOF⌠youâve hit me with the one oc question. i love to discuss my Opinions (thereâs lots of them) but ocs require more thoughts. hmâŚ
azug would celebrate because i think lucien would go hog wild about his friend defeating alduin and erik is just down to party. where the fuck do you go after coming back from skuldafn? how do you come back? do you just fast travel? summon odahviing again? itâs been so long i donât remember. iâll just assume you summon odahviing again and he deposits you back in dragonsreach, in which case, jarl balgruuf would probably want to have a feast or something anyway. but azug and the crew would go celebrating on their own after, and, tbh, knowing azug, would probably keep celebrating for a long time after. like, bar hopping in every city for the next year (or until whatever inevitable tragedy happens next for them to help with)
megana is much more reserved. she would enjoy the feast but she doesnât really. have close friends. at least not yet, i havenât finished the game with her so idk. she also doesnât live in whiterun like azug does (well, technically azug lives outside in tundra homestead) so i think she might have less casual friends there. all that being said, i donât think she would celebrate beyond agreeing to whatever celebrations are held for her, and even then she would quickly find a limit to what she could stand to attend. sheâs more of a private person; sheâd rather have a few drinks with the others at the college of winterhold (hey i forgot she was gonna do that quest) or relax with thistle in myrwatch than be rowdy all across skyrim like azug
sadly those r the only two i can answer for, cirendil exists in my mind palace but i havenât played her at all so i donât have a good grasp of her character or development. friki is⌠technically a dragonborn because the randomizer feature in the alternate start mod iâm using decided she would be, and because i think itâs funny to imagine her going around stealing shit and not at all being helpful while another dragonborn actually does their job, but she will not be doing the main quests at any point so i donât bother contemplating her much
thank u for asking!!! this one was super fun to consider <3

Throat of the World - How do you feel about "Season Unending"?
I gotta be real with you, Iâm so much of a main questline avoider that Iâve hardly ever played that quest, so my opinion comes down to a shrug đ

solitude and throat of the world for the skyrim asks!
Thank you for the asks!
Solitude - Who's your favorite Jarl? Who's your least favorite? Why these?
I have a soft spot for Idgrod Ravencrone, both with the visions and her Diplomatic Immunity distraction techniques. I was always a little disappointed that Skyrim didn't get more into Clever Women sort of stuff.
As for least favorite...I completely forgot Korir exists so probably him.
Throat of the World - How do you feel about "Season Unending"?
Pretty solid meh. The Civil War related quests never really grabbed me, especially the Stormcloaks, and so I wound up doing this quest a several times and being less enthused each time.

Throat of the World - How do you feel about "Season Unending"?
honestly?? i love it. i think it could have been more fleshed out, and having the blades AND the thalmor in the same room was a fucking wild decision that i do not understand, but like. as a quest? as a narrative device?? calling a ceasefire because theres fucking DRAGONS is so much fun to me. i wanna do a hell of a lot more with it in my fic, but that'll be a waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay long way down the line.
thank you so much for sending this ask!! <3333

kynesgrove, morthal, and throat of the world for the skyrim asks!
Oooh! Very quick - thank you dearly!
Kynesgrove; What is your favorite non-major city/town/settlement? Oh this is is a kinda tricky one. I'm going to assume this rules out all the hold capitals - even the really smol ones like Morthal - and Raven Rock. Hmmm... I think ultimately it comes down to either Deepwood Vale or Narzulbur. There is something incredibly captivating about the latter - how it clings to the mountainside and is divided between two parts with a narrow rope bridge connecting them. IDK. Its just always been my favorite orc stronghold in Skyrim from an aesthetic standpoint by a wide margin. Deepwood Vale, though. That might be a weirder choice. Like, ok, I get that it technically isnt even a proper settlement (in game). Its a dungeon. But for the Reachfolk living there it really must be a fairly major settlement. I'm gonna use that as my excuse anyway. Its just... ok so very few skyrim dungeons really wow me but Deepwood Vale has gotta be one of my favorite. The progression through it, the feeling of it being a real town to the Reachmen. A settlement and not just a camp. All the intriguing ties it has to cut Reachmen content and then how it was reused as the mainland base of the Icereach clan in ESO. I've just always loved it. I'm a sucker for when TES games jump a small, enclosed, sub-worldspace on you like Deepwood Vale, Blackreach, or the Forgotten Vale. PLUS!! It was actually the dungeon that first sparked my consistant love for the Reachfolk, so it has that going for it!!
Morthal; Do you enjoy exploring dungeons and ruins? Why or why not? Sadly not particularly. IDK, by and large dungeon design never really seems to have been a Bethesda speciality. They do really blend together. Doesnt help that I am so familiar with... well... ALL of Skyrim these days that I can navigate most places with my eyes half shut. That said, when Skyrim hits, it HITS. Definitely has some really good high points and those stick with me. *Cough* See Above *Cough* These days I actually take most of my joy in playing Skyrim more like a weird TES lifesim game. I vibe in towns, hone non-combat skills, run small errands and jobs that don't even touch combat, and just sorta... well... live life like a non-adventurer. Its a weird AF way to approach it, I know, but it sparks immense joy for me. ESPECIALLY with my well honed mod order!
The Throat of the World; How do you feel about "Season Unending"? See this is an especially difficult one because I don't really play Dragonborn characters xD. But ah, well. Ok. From the times I have played through it and conceptually. I really enjoy it in idea, though the execution is REALLY clumsy. Honestly I would adore a peace council option somehow as a side path in the Civil War entirely independent of the main quest. Just sorta jam it in there, somehow. Cant hate it too much, though, since its one of the necessary parts of the (very fiddly) method of entirely ridding Markarth of those dang unkillable Silver Bloods!!
