made this point in the tags of a post earlier but this fandom needs to have a conversation ab how much of it’s homophobia comes from other queer ppl. it’s not just the “straight swifties” who get weird and accusatory whenever someone makes a harmless post ab taylor writing a lyric that can be understood in a queer context, or whenever someone makes a little ha-ha joke about how a majority of taylor’s friends are in the community etc. a great deal of the shade that ive experienced has come from other swifties who are also in the community more than ive had a problem with any cishet swifties lmao

Last night, while waiting for the pizzas to be done so I could make my last delivery, a family of four was waiting for their food to be ready. One of them moved to the other side of the room, and that meant I was in the perfect spot to see the rainbows all over their shoes, from the edges of the base to some patches to the shoelaces themselves.

Of course I had to say the thing. It was only as they were leaving with their food, and when complimented on their shoelaces several members of the party thanked me and checked their footwear, which I found lovely.

(No one stole them from the president, though.)

Today, after I finally got my covid booster, I had to spend the usual ten minutes bumming around the pharmacy to make sure all was well – and my magpie brain decided we did indeed need more heinously shiny wrapping paper (nothing as glorious as the snowmen on slime green background I rummaged up at sales last year after the holidays, sadly). I lucked out and was the only person to hit the register, and as the cashier rang me out, they declared, “I like your mask!” I beamed back at them, and they continued, “That’s the ace flag colors, right?”

I’ve been wearing ace flag masks since the pandemic began, and this is only the second time someone registered it – and I cannot begin to convey the absolute delight it gave me right then. It was just wild.

So today’s been a good day.

(For the curious, masks came from NerdyKeppie, though it looks like they’re no longer making them. The relevant designs are still all over their products, however!)
