We did an Apivar treatment today, and checked to see where we stand, heading into the heat of the summer. We located Queen Victoria in Hive 1! 👑🐝

The second hive was MAD that we were looking at their honey stores though, and they were literally pelting us, and I pulled a few stingers out of my gloves. I have only duct tape covering some holes in my veil, so it was a bit stressful. 😆

Since I finally finished the Main Five, I had to do a proper lineup of them! Just so we can see how they look together. Especially their heights!

I'll post them again when I eventually do all of Team Miraculous but for now! Have the kiddos!

I’ve been working on a miraculous ladybug fic, and I needed to redesign everyone’s costumes. I only have Marinette (ladybug), Adrien (chat noir) and Chloe (honeybee)

These are my redesigns:

some bees! the nature center i'm interning at asked me to make a visual for them that shows the differences between queens, drones, and workers since they have an indoor hive :-)

when i was looking up ant biology i kind of derailed into bee biology a little since they are related, and the contrast between them was so funny

leafcutter ants: new virgin queens take a sample of fungus from the colony's fungus garden before the nuptial flight, so they have a little to start off their own hive with in case they are successful! :) virgin queens and males all wait patiently until the day of the nuptial flight - multiple colonies synchronize it for the same time so they have a better chance of survival and genetic diversity!

honeybees: newly emerged virgin queens immediately send out signals, inviting other newly hatched virgin queens in the hive for a no-holds-barred battle royale. the surviving virgin queen, after killing all others, goes on a rampage to destroy all other queen pupae that haven't emerged yet.

Really kinda want to write a fic where Rufus SWEARS he’ll never go to the Honeybee Inn because his dad is always there… well, you know. And then Andrea Rhodea starts performing and Pres Shinra goes on this huge tangent about how the Honeybee is “too woke now” and says he’ll never go back… And Rufus is intrigued, so he goes and manages to finagle a meeting with Andrea, who takes a “special interest” in Rufus and helps him cross dress

Guys! I finally decided to make an Instagram dedicated to posts about my boyfriend and I navigating through the ups and downs of learning to become better beekeepers!
