WIP Wednesday

Again. Been some time since I did one of these proper. Tagged of course by the dear @hircines-hunter 💜

This was intended to be part of a One-Shot series buuuuut I doubt I'll ever finish it as an actual series. Maybe just standalones. We'll see.

"Oh, aren't they absolute darlings!" Queen Ayrenn was gushing to her Eye, Razum Dar, about the very tiny babe currently swaddled in her arms. As she stood there gently bouncing it, Raz beamed with pride. After all, he helped make the cub. And the one in his own arms. The Queen continued with the rocking as she turned to Raz and softly asked, "How's their mum? Is she doing alright?" Raz nodded, "Oh yes, she's doing well. Tired, but well. She's taking a much needed rest in the bath right now," he gestured toward the washroom door. "Divines knows she deserves it. That was no easy feat. Especially with two little ones." Razum Dar was the one to break the news to Ayrenn about him and the Vestige being a couple. The Queen was not particularly surprised at the announcement, much to Raz's relief. In fact she had more or less expected, even anticipated, the news.

(Placeholder) Raz was especially surprised, nearly falling over in shock. His love was better at keeping surprises than he realized. Queen Ayrenn immediately withdrew them from their traveling duties and made them stay at Skywatch Manor with her. She assigned them one of the empty offices (which had a convenient adjacent bedroom). All things considered, the Vestige's endeavor went smoothly. Only the finest and most skilled of healers were allowed to help her; Razum Dar would let no one else near his love. And now he has two beautiful twin girls.

Yeah this one is all over the place and I'm lucky I was able to piece enough together to make sense of it ^^; but Hey have some Raz.

Sometimes the things we've lost have ways to come back in the most unexpected manners.

Zanri al-Anaqi, my Khajiit ESO Vestige, with Queen Ayrenn, who now has become his mother figure.

After losing his parents as a teenager, Zanri found himself being part of the Aldmeri Dominion family as an Eye of The Queen. But 7 years later, Queen Ayrenn finally finds what he has been missing the most all this time: someone who loves him like his parents once did.

The Vestige stayed where they were, watching the three Royals and gathered Elder Council. Another threat arose, another Daedric Prince wanting to destroy Tamriel. They had solved every single problem and world threat that had come to Tamriel for the past decade. The Vestige was tired, exhausted, but also deep down, angry, and vengeful. For the companions they'd lost, the friends and family killed, only for these three 'leaders' to start tearing apart the continent once again when all was said and done.

The Vestige, Hero of Tamriel, was done with these three. Abnur Tharn had called a council together to face the oncoming threat, the old mage was angry and tired as well. The rest of the Elder Council was not helping, going on about the fact they didn't have to listen to any of the Alliance Leaders.

Politics.

Politics.

And more politics.

Exhaustion.

Anger.

Pain.

"Well since we can't agree and innocent people are dying the Vestige can take care of it-" they couldn't stop the abrupt laugh that came out of them. Ayrenn was trying to shove the responsibility off once more. Just like Summerset and Elsweyr. Cynical, that's what they'd become the Vestige realized. Though it did not bother them much in the slightest.

"What makes you think I want to?" They'd always stepped in, just for these three to destroy their hard work. The Vestige's eyes narrowed onto everyone in the room, their anger firing through their system. "I always take care of the problems plaguing Tamriel, over and over and over again." Their voice was calm, ice cold irritation resounding through. The Elder Council shrank back, Tharn simply smirking slightly. The Alliance Leaders looked confused, and irritated.

"You always help people though, why stop now?" Emeric spoke up. Trying to appeal to the Vestige's better nature. Unfortunately their better nature had dried up when it came to coddling any nobility.

"I do always help, then you Three destroy my hardwork and effort, and care, with your pointless war. So no, I will not be doing anything this time." Shocked gasps filled the Council chamber, some people even getting angry.

"Our war is not pointless, it's for the good of the Ebonhart Pact!" Jorrun spoke quickly, probably trying to do damage control for the Vestige's comment.

"The Aldmeri Dominion wants peace throughout Tamriel!"

"The Daggerfall Covenant refuses to lose to Elves and Barbarians!"

It did not take long for them to start arguing amongst one another. Shouting was exchanged, the noise irritating the the Vestige's sensitive hearing.

"Then prove it." Simple words, spoken with force and will. The Vestige stood up, making eye contact with each of the world leaders. "Each of you say your faction, well you specifically, should have the Ruby Throne. Then prove it."

"We have armies at our disposal, surely-" the Vestige interrupted.

"No. Not your armies. You individually. Defeat this threat to Tamriel and prove you deserve the Ruby Throne. Risk everything you hold dear, and fight that Deadric Prince."

Silence.

You could hear a pen drop.

Then the Vestige walked out, ignoring the shorts trying to command them to come back.

No one commanded the Vestige, no man or mer. No God, Aedric, Daedric, or living.
