I come here to quench my sense of scientific inquiry. Who is your favourite kdrama actor? Because I feel there is a correlation between people's favourite Kdrama actors and their biases that make so much sene. Like of course I love Mingi and Lee Soohyuk.

^^This picture does something to me.

(They do a matchy matchy too.)
Like it makes so much sense.
(I feel like you might be a Lee Dongwook girlie because you bias Yunho but I might be wrong. But if I'm correct, GIRL HE'SSO HOT WHEN HE PLAYS INSANE CHARACTERS.)
i'm gonna have to think about this very deeply i take these questions very serious (ALSO AAAAAAAAAAA THAT FIRST PHOTO OF LEE SOOHYUK HE'S ONE OF MY FAVS TOO BTW)
okay with actors tho... idk if i have a type. sometimes it's the character that makes me fall for the actor. sometimes it's just the way they portray their characters throughout their acting career.
ofc i'm a lee dongwook girlie. been one since my first drama which was goblin, but bruh. his roles. his acting!! i prefer him in thriller roles like a shop for killer or strangers from hell. in his romance roles tho.... i fold so quick lmaoo
here's a quick list of my fav actors in no particular order:
lee dongwook the man the legend
park jihoon. watch weak hero class 1 and tell me he doesn't become your fav immediately.
kang haneul. man is a green flag. man can act. man nails his roles. and he's. hella. adorable. also followed him very closely since scarlet heart ryeo he's been my fav actor since! to all the ppl who liked him after squid game, kindly get in line.
choi wooshik. he just acts really well man i love his acting
ju jihoon. he has the best roles/characters. he's also very daddy.
lee junhyuk. he was underrated asf until his recent drama love scout, but when i tell you he's been my crush since city hunter i watched him in 2016 and immediately FELL. and i see y'all appreciating him now GET IN LINE.
ji chang wook. another man myth legend. another daddy. he's hard not to fall for.
namkoong min. man altered my brain chemistry so hard after i watched the dearest. he should be winning all the awards for that role alone. his acting is incredible.
lee dohyun. !!!!! i don't think i need to remind everyone how good an actor he is. i've always followed his dramas very closely.
lim siwan. again, get in line folks. y'all are here after squid game WHERE WERE YOU WHEN HE ACTED IN BOYHOOD OR STRANGERS FROM HELL OR UNLOCKED OR RUN ON OR SUMMER STRIKE?? WHERE I ASK WHERE??
lee jehoon. very versatile actor!
at this rate i fear the list might never end. there are more i can't recall rn and don't make me choose a fav or even a top 3 or 5 bc these are all my number 1s they're literally all at the top spot!! it's not like kpop where i can choose an ultimate bias sadly (even in kpop i be having like a handful of ultimate biases soooo)

Insomnia
Tumblr media
Pairing: Jonathan Pine x Reader
Words: 3900+
Author’s Note: If you haven’t seen The Night Manager you definitely should. It’s super good and Tom looks incredible as usual. I hope whoever reads this likes it!
Your eyes bulge at the beautiful scenery of Milan as your school group walks towards the hotel you'll be residing in for two weeks. You're so glad that you could afford to come on this trip, wanting to visit Italy for a while, since you were a small child.
"Do you think we'll find some hot guys to fuck around with?" Kayla asks as the two of you walk into the fancy hotel.
You let out a snort and shake your head in reply, looking over at the short brunette. "In the time frame that we have? Maybe. I wouldn't think you can achieve more than just a hookup though," you explain to her as your teacher checks you guys in.
"Hm, true, but it doesn't hurt to try," she states and you nod your head in agreement.
"Okay, everyone!" Your teacher calls out to gather the group's attention. "We've got six rooms with two beds in each room. There's twelve of you so pair up and grab a key."
You and Kaya give each other a look before laughing, the two of you walking towards your teacher. You smile at the older woman as she writes your names down before handing you a key.
"Kaya and Y/N… room 145," she mumbles and you grab the key from her hands. The two of you head towards your room, deciding to relax a bit before you all head out again.
Hours Later…
You toss and turn in the queen-sized bed, a soft sigh leaving your lips as the insomnia kicks in. You throw your covers off of your body before getting up. You quietly grab your room key and glance over at Kayla, seeing her dead asleep.
You envy her, wishing you could be dead asleep. You've been dealing with insomnia since your early teens. You'd be surprised if you ever got a full eight-hour sleep. Most of the time it's about four or five hours.
You hold your breath as you quietly open the door to your room, slipping out before the hall lights can shine into the room. You release a breath after you hear the lock of the door click. You walk around the gorgeous hotel, your eyes looking at every art piece you walk by.
"I'm really surprised Mrs. Smith chose this hotel," you mumble to yourself while heading towards the lobby as you remember seeing a little seating area next to a fireplace.
You didn't notice the man standing at the reception desk as you walk into the lobby, your arms crossing over your chest as you head straight towards the loveseat sofa. The man at the desk watches you as you sit down before grabbing one of the magazines.
His eyes glance towards his watch to see that it's almost 1:45 in the morning. It's not often he sees any guests at this time of hour. You run a hand through your hair as you prop your feet up, another quiet sigh leaving your lips.
"Is there anything I can help you with, Miss?" An accented voice asks you and you jump in your seat, looking over your shoulder.
Your breath hitches in your throat as a tall man stands beside the couch, his blue suit making his blue eyes stand out just as much. Holy shit he's gorgeous. "U-Uh, no I'm okay," you mumble shyly and the man smiles.
"Are you sure? I can get you a water bottle or something," he offers and you feel your cheeks blush.
"Okay, sure," you smile softly and the sandy brunette nods before walking away from you.
The man returns with a bottle of water and holds it out for you to take. You thank him quietly while grabbing it, feeling your fingertips brush against his. You press your lips together as you could feel butterflies roaming around your stomach.
"May I sit with you?" He asks politely and you nod your head in reply. The man sits in the chair beside you, his blue eyes looking towards the fireplace. "I'm Jonathan Pine, the Night Manager."
"Y/N L/N," you introduce while tucking a strand of hair behind your ear and you lean forwards to set the magazine back onto the coffee table. "So, you stay up all night to watch the place?"
A chuckle leaves Jonathan's throat as he nods his head, crossing one of his legs. "I do, yes. Been doing it for years now," he explains and you hum in response.
"Don't you ever get… lonely?" You quietly ask and Jonathan furrows his eyebrows together.
"I've never really thought about that, honestly. I guess I keep myself occupied enough to not really think about it," he mentions and you grab a hold of the pillow beside you, hugging it to your chest. "Real question is why are you up at two in the morning?"
A chuckle leaves your lips as you lean against the arm of the couch, adjusting your position. You prop your feet up on the cushions as you turn towards Jonathan. "Oh, this is usual for me. I suffer from insomnia and don't usually fall asleep until three or three-thirty," you tell him and the man frowns slightly. "That's why I asked you if you ever get lonely because I'm lonely every night."
"Do you want some tea? I have this tea recipe I use when I'm trying to sleep," Jonathan offers and you smile at him, fond of his kindness.
"If you think it'll work, go for it. I could use the sleep," you joke and earn a laugh from the blue-eyed man as well.
Jonathan stands up from his chair before holding out a hand to you. "Come," he smiles softly and you hesitantly reach out to grab his hand.
He pulls you up from the couch and leads you towards his office. "Have you been to Milan before?" He asks while the two of you walk into the office, Jonathan shutting the door behind you.
"First time, actually," you tell him and fiddle with your fingers. "But, I've wanted to come here since I was younger. I'm glad that one of my college courses was able to make my dream come to life."
"That's pretty neat. So, you're here with a school?" Jonathan questions while motioning for you to sit at the small table. "You must be the one staying here for two weeks."
You hum in response as you watch him fill the kettle. How are you so calm right now? This man is beyond gorgeous. You think to yourself as your fingertips tap along the wooden table.
Jonathan grabs a cup from one of his drawers and sets it on the table in front of you. "I hope I'm not making things weird for you," he mumbles and you shake your head immediately.
"Oh, you're fine, Jonathan," you reassure him with a smile. "It's nice to have someone actually care? Like, I've roamed around places I've stayed and no one's stopped to have a conversation with me. Let alone make me tea."
You rest your chin against the palm of your hand as Jonathan lets out a chuckle. "I'm not like many people, darling. Plus, it's my job to take care of our guests," he informs you and your chest clenches a bit, the smile dropping from your lips.
So you didn't do it just because? You hum as you're suddenly not feeling up for tea. You stand up from your chair, gaining the man's attention. "I'm not feeling well," you whisper as you walk towards his office door. "I'm going to head back to my room."
The smile on Jonathan's lips fell as you leave his office without letting him get a word in. He clears his throat while turning off the kettle, not needing it anymore before letting out a sigh. "Was it something I said?" He questions himself while heading back towards his reception desk.
-
A knock on your hotel room door wakes you from your slumber, a small groan leaving your lips as the sun peaks into the room. "Be up and ready in half an hour!" Mrs. Smith calls from outside the door.
You look towards Kayla, seeing her bed empty and already made. You rub the sleep from your eyes and sit up slowly, glancing towards the alarm clock to see it was almost nine in the morning. "Jesus Christ," you groan and lay back down, placing your arm over your eyes.
"Morning, sunshine!" Kayla beams as she walks out of the bathroom. You move your arm to look over at her before letting out a grunt. "That's what happens when you roam around the hotel for two hours."
You sit up suddenly, your eyebrows furrowing together in confusion. How does she know that? "What- I-"
"Don't even try to come up with an excuse. I woke up to go to the bathroom last night and you were nowhere in sight," she explains and you deeply sigh.
"Sorry. I have insomnia," you tell her and her eyes soften a bit. "I went to the lobby to sit by the fireplace for a bit."
Kayla sits down beside you as she brushes through her wet hair. "How come you didn't tell me about this? We're best friends," she mumbles sadly and you shrug your shoulders.
"Not many people know. I usually just keep it to myself so no one else has to bother with it," you confess while fiddling with your fingers.
"Well, I care about you. Don't you forget that," she whispers and you give her a soft smile,  thanking her quietly. "Now get dressed. I need some coffee in me."
Kayla patiently waits as you get ready, the brunette scrolling through her phone. You tie your tennis shoes before standing up,  letting her know that you're ready. The two of you walk towards the lobby, your heart dropping a bit as you see Jonathan standing at the desk still.
When does he leave?
Your friend drags you up to the reception desk, watching her eyes widen as she takes in the man standing in front of her. Jonathan looks up from the computer he's typing on meets your eyes first.
"Good Morning, Y/N," he greets with a soft smile before turning his attention to Kayla, "Miss, what can I help you guys with?"
Kayla quickly glances your way before telling him that she would like a coffee. He simply nods his head and moves away from the desk, doing as she asked. "He knows your name?" She asks you as soon as he disappears.
You rub the back of your neck and nod your head in reply. "I met him last night," you tell her and she slaps your arm, causing you to groan. "What the hell?!"
"You didn't think to tell me you met one of the most handsome guys in Milan?!" She laughs and you shrug your shoulders, feeling your cheeks blush. "Did something happen?"
"No. I'll tell you about it later," you mumble as Jonathan comes back with the coffee Kayla ordered.
She takes it from him with a smile before walking away from the two of you while giving you a look. You hated her sometimes. You think and chuckle to yourself.
"Do you need anything, Y/N?" He asks softly and you shake your head in answer. "Uhm, if you don't mind me asking… have I said something wrong last night that made you run away?"
You press your lips together before looking up at him. "I felt special. You actually made me feel special by taking time out of your night to talk to me… when no one has ever done it, and you ruined it by telling me it's just part of your job. So, what you're saying is that you wouldn't keep me company and offer me tea to help me sleep if you weren't the Night Manager?" You rant on, feeling yourself getting angrier by the second.
Jonathan's eyes widen slightly as you breathe heavily, moving to walk away from him when his hand grabs a hold of your wrist. "I'm sorry," he mumbles and you can see the sadness in his blue eyes. "I… I didn't mean to make you feel that way. That was never my intention."
You pry your wrist from his hand and give him a sad smile. "I've got to go," you mumble quietly as your group begins to walk out the door.
Kayla calls out to you and motions for you to come along when you glance back at Jonathan once more. You swallow thickly and your heart breaks at the look on his face. You shouldn't feel like this. You just met. You take a deep breath as you catch up to everyone else, linking arms with your best friend before walking out the hotel doors.
Jonathan taps his fingers against the desk and scrunches his nose. "That's your girl?" A random person asks and Jonathan glances towards one of the hotel customers.
"Oh, no, sir," he politely tells him with a small smile.
The man scoffs in response and glances back towards the front door. "Could've fooled me. The way the two of you looked at each other. It was like you've been together for years," he explains and Jonathan swallows the lump in his throat before clearing it.
"Heh, no. She's a guest just like you, sir," Jonathan awkwardly laughs while the gentleman working the day shift stands beside the blue-eyed man.
-
"Are you going to visit Jonathan again tonight?" Kayla asks as the group walks into the hotel. It's almost nine-thirty at night when you all return, most students feeling exhausted after today's activities.
You shrug your shoulders and glance towards the reception desk to see Jonathan relieving the man who you assumed works the day shift. His blue eyes meet yours and the two of you smile softly at one another.
"I don't know, maybe," you mumble as the two of you walk towards your room.
"Good Evening, everyone," Jonathan greets and your teacher gives him a warm smile.
You glance over your shoulder at him as you can't help but feel somewhat entranced by the man. A small sigh leaves your lips as you continue towards your room.
"You should. I can tell that the two of you have this unspoken thing going on," Kayla mentions and you hum in response. "I'm just saying… you don't have to follow my advice."
You're twiddling with your fingers as you stare off into the darkness. Tonight's the one night you wish you could fall asleep since you've been out in the sun all day. You're exhausted,  yet here you are, not able to get some shut-eye.
A sigh leaves your lips as you find yourself getting up, deciding to roam around for the second night in a row. Albeit you're a bit nervous to run into Jonathan, but part of you wants to see him again.
You throw a hoodie on before leaving your room quietly. You cross your arms over your chest as you wander into the lobby, seeing Jonathan standing at the reception desk still.
"Hey," you softly call out and the dirty blonde picks his head up, his blue eyes meeting yours before a smile comes to his lips.
"Y/N," Jonathan smiles and lets out a small chuckle, "I'm very surprised the Milan sun hasn't knocked you out."
A snort leaves your lips as you nod your head and rest your arms against the desk in front of you. "Honestly, I am too. I was hoping it would," you mumble loud enough for him to hear.
"If you want I can make that tea I told you about," he offers and your heart flutters at how gentlemanly he is.
"Do you have a girlfriend, Jonathan?" You suddenly ask and his eyes widen a bit before shaking his head. You tsk in response and look into his ocean blue eyes. "It's a shame because anyone would be so lucky to have you."
Jonathan's heart pounds against his chest at your compliment, having not heard it before from a guest… a stranger. A smile comes to his lips before taking a glance down at his shiny shoes.
"Well, thank you, darling. That's quite sweet of you to say." You chuckle softly as Jonathan adjusts the tie he's wearing. "If you're comfortable with it… would you want to come to my room? I can make you some tea and we can just hang out, get to know each other."
You bite your bottom lip softly as you think about it before nodding your head in reply. "As long as you don't murder me, sure," you joke with him and the blue-eyed man lets out a laugh while shaking his head.
"I promise, darling," he grins with a chuckle and logs out of the computer before walking around the desk. "This way."
You fiddle with your fingers as you follow Jonathan down the hall. He glances over his shoulder at you a few times and you give him a reassuring smile when his eyes meet yours.
"What did you guys do today?" Jonathan asks while inviting you into the spacious room.
"Oh, we did so much," you laugh while sitting down in the computer chair, hooking one of your legs beneath you. "We went for breakfast at this cute little Cafe near the hotel and then we went to all the famous tourist attractions. I swear my eyes have never been so wide before. This place is beautiful."
Jonathan grins widely as he listens to you rant while making your tea. "I'm glad you're enjoying yourself, darling," he mentions and pours the boiling water into the teacup.
"I'm really glad I was able to afford this trip," you chuckle as Jonathan walks towards you with your tea. You swoon a bit as you hear him call you darling once more, taking the cup from his slender fingers. "Thank you for this."
He sits down beside you on the bed and nods his head in response. "It's no problem. I'm hoping it can help you sleep. If so, I'll send you one to your room each night before bed," he offers and your heart flutters in your chest.
"But then I won't be able to have these late-night conversations with you," you whisper while looking up at him through your lashes.
You drink a sip of your tea as it becomes quiet between the two of you. You hum in delight at the taste of the drink and set it down on the nightstand beside you.
"Is it weird that I feel so close to you when I barely know you?" You suddenly ask and Jonathan raises an eyebrow. A dry laugh leaves your lips as you fiddle with your fingers. "I must sound crazy. It's just-"
"I feel it too," he mumbles loud enough for you to hear and your breath hitches in your throat. "There was this customer yesterday… he said that the way you and I looked at each other was the way a couple who's been together for years looks at each other."
You swallow thickly as you can feel yourself growing tired. "Maybe this is God bringing us together or something…" You trail off as you lay back on the bed. "Damn that tea really helps. Are you sure you didn't spike it?"
Jonathan frowns at your joke and shakes his head in response. "Of course not, darling. I would never," he softly tells you and you smile up at him before your eyes flutter shut.
The blue-eyed man stands up from the bed and adjusts your body so you're lying completely on the bed. He covers you up with the duvet before grabbing your cup of tea and places it in the little kitchenette area.
"Sleep well," he whispers to your unconscious body before flicking off the light and returning to the lobby.
-
Kayla's eyes widen when she wakes up as you're not sleeping in the bed beside her. "Y/N," she calls out, and her heart pounds in her chest when you don't reply. The brunette flings herself out of her bed and rushes towards the bathroom to see it empty. "Oh, no."
She quickly throws some clothes on before running out of the room. Kayla makes her way towards the lobby as she spots Jonathan standing at the reception desk, talking to the man who'll take over for him.
"Jonathan, right?" She calls out to him and the dirty blonde picks his head up.
"Yes, Miss?" He asks politely and Kayla breathes heavily as she frantically looks around.
"I… have you seen Y/N? She's not in our room," Kayla mumbles and Jonathan gives her a small smile while placing a hand on her arm in reassurance.
"Do not fret. Y/N fell asleep in my room last night. That's where she is now if you want me to bring you to her," Jonathan offers and Kayla lets out a breath of relief.
Thank God. The brunette thinks while nodding her head in reply. Jonathan leads her to where you're currently finishing up breakfast while watching whatever the blue-eyed man put on the television.
You pick your head up when you hear the door opening, your eyes widening a bit as you see Kayla walk into the room before Jonathan. "You gave me a scare, Y/N!" She immediately says and you give her a small smile while mumbling an apology. "I'm just thankful you were in Jonathan's hands rather than a stranger."
"Jonathan is kind of a stranger, Kayla," you laugh while covering your mouth, finishing the food you're eating. "But, I get what you mean."
A sigh leaves your best friend's lips as she crosses her arms over her chest. "So, what happened?"
"We were sitting here talking and whatnot and the tea he made me that would help me sleep better worked quicker than I expected it to. I ended up falling asleep on the bed," you explain to her as your eyes move to Jonathan, seeing him standing in the corner of his room.
"You take good care of her or I swear to-"
"Kayla!" You scold her embarrassingly, feeling your cheeks heat up as Jonathan lets out a laugh.
"I promise to take good care of her. No matter what," he says in his beautiful English accented voice.
Your best friend lets out a sigh of relief before turning to leave the room. "I'll let Mrs. Smith know that you're feeling ill," she gives you a wink and walks out the door.
"God," you mumble to yourself and hide your face in your hands. You feel Jonathan sit down beside you, his hand resting on your blanket-covered thigh. "Sorry about her she can be-"
"It's quite alright, darling. I understand where she's coming from," he grins and you giggle softly. "But, now that you're ill… I can spend the day with you. If that's what you want anyway."
You grin widely and look up at the beautiful man. "That would be fun, Jonathan," you tell him and lean forward to kiss his cheek.
Jonathan's eyes stare into yours as he brings his hands to your cheeks before connecting his lips with yours. A small gasp leaves your lips, eyes widening before fluttering shut. You begin to kiss him back while bringing one of your hands to his shoulder, your fingers gripping the suit jacket he's wearing.
After about a minute Jonathan pulls away from you, a stupid grin on both of your lips as the two sit in silence. "Okay… that… felt really good," you whisper out causing the blue-eyed man to chuckle in response.
"Well, there's more where that came from."

And that was her life for fifteen years; endless training with her dad, taking care of her brothers while her dad went on hunts, leaving her brothers while she went on hunts with her dad; going on hunts with her brothers; leaving her brothers while she went on solo hunts, and, eventually, leaving her brothers.

Name: Jude Winchester
Story: Hey Jude
Face claim:  Trinity Rose Likins & Britt Robertson
Summary: Grandpa Bobby always told her that family don’t end in blood. And he was right, but Jude knew that there was still something to be said for the importance of blood. After all, blood was the reason that she was Jude Winchester; blood was the reason that Dean had begged his ex girlfriend to give him their daughter instead of putting her up for adoption, blood was the reason that he’d gone against John Winchester’s orders and kept her, blood was the reason that he’d named her after his mom’s favourite song. But family wasn’t just blood; family was living with Uncle Bobby when hunts were too dangerous for the ten year old, family was trying pumpkin pie with her dad in every diner they’d ever stopped in, family was driver picking the music and shotgun shutting his cakehole. Family was joining dad and Uncle Sam in looking for her grandfather, even though he’d never made a secret of how much he wanted her gone. Family don’t end in blood; it don’t start there either, and Jude Winchester will do anything for her family.

Summary: Rachel Winchester didn’t know all that much about herself. She knew that she was a mistake, that her dad didn’t - doesn’t - want her, and that her mother was named Lucy. She doesn’t know how her parents met, or how she ended up with her dad, or anything about the important things, and she doesn’t know why her dad won’t answer any of her questions. But she knows other things, things that aren’t to do with her past. She knows how to shoot a gun and perform an exorcism, she knows how to drive and hustle like a pro, and she knows how to keep her mouth shut and be a good soldier. But when John Winchester goes missing, Rachel knows one thing with more certainty than she’s ever had: if they don’t find their dad, she’ll never get the answers to the questions that matter.

Summary: Thomas Novak never believed in god.  Or in angels, or heaven or hell or anything that goes bump in the night.  Or at least, he didn’t.  Not until his dad was possessed by some self-righteous asshole angel named Castiel, who also possessed his sister Claire, and who tried to possess him.  But asshole angels don’t think about the people they hurt with their actions, and didn’t think about the consequences of the Novak twins losing their father.  So Thomas decides to tell him, and maybe get his father back.  Only, apparently it isn’t that simple, and he finds himself travelling the country with the asshole wearing his father’s body and two equally asshole “hunters” named Sam and Dean.  All he wanted was to get his dad back, but now it looks like Thomas is going to have to stop the apocalypse.

timeskip/post-timeskip misc. headcanons.
- During the year that it takes Paradis to exterminate the last remaining titans within and beyond Wall Maria, Sasha finally succeeds in getting her first titan kills. She does not kill a great many of them, but she winds up with a decent assists score as her career in an army solely dedicated to the titan problem comes to a close.
- Under Captain Levi’s watchful supervision, she continues to specialise in long range shooting, leaving her bow and arrows in the armory to pick up a rifle. After the battle of Shiganshina and the discovery of Grisha Jaeger’s journals in the basement, it has become clear that they will need to prepare to fight other people; a shift in perspective and focus that makes Sasha uneasy, but that she does not dispute. - She finds relative comfort in the idea that her new official position as an elite sniper mostly consists on her being in charge of covering other people, rather than actively seeking to take down as many enemies as possible. Her job is to spot confirmed incoming threats, and take them out, in order to ensure her people can safely come home.  - She is very independent on the field, but Connie has nonetheless been trained to act as her spotter whenever she has to perform her trickiest shots and may be in need of a second pair of eyes. - A soldier’s life is all she has known for four years, by the time the first Marleyan ships reach the coasts of Paradis - it’s a scope beyond which she cannot see, pigeon-holed into one life to the point that she cannot bring herself to consider a way out. Her ties to her friends are too strong, shared wounds and shared joys alike run too deep; only by losing them all would she ever envision quitting altogether. Besides, even brushing aside the irreplaceable bond uniting her to the former 104th - what else could she do with her life, after dedicating it to the military since she was barely out of her childhood years?  - She knows she could probably go home, settle at her parents’ house and help them take care of the stables and the kids, but there is something pulling her back - apprehension, fear, perhaps, at the prospect of starting over, of quitting everything she knows for something both brand new and terribly familiar; fear also, of not being able to pull it off and to really be left with nothing. Returning to the forest is not an option, and what kind of job would she be able to find, when all she really knows how to do is survive in hostile environments, fly around on ODM gear, fight titans, and shoot people? Reconversion is not exactly something the military ever prepares you for. - For four years, Sasha smothers her doubts and conflicting interrogations, finding comfort and reassurance in the presence of her friends, albeit troubled by the occasional flare up of existential crisis and dread - “what next?” a reoccurring question on her mind. Of these doubts though, only Connie is privvy, because there is nothing she can hide from her best friend and other half. Perhaps Jean and Mikasa would have been aware of them too despite her best attempts to downplay her concerning state of mind - and should they suspect anything, she would naturally ask them not to say a word to anyone. It’s okay, it will pass, I’m sure, she would try to assure them. She is not even trying to convince herself; but she does think that her loyalty to her friends will be enough to anchor her in this new life and carry her through whatever hurdles Marley throws at them.  - Paradoxically, meeting the Marleyan POW is a welcome distraction in these troubled times; Sasha is very curious about the outside world and their customs, and wary of strangers as she is, once the first few Marleyan officers start accepting dialogue, she is among the Paradisians always ready to ask questions and learn more about them; as individuals too. Part of it is bound to sheer curiosity, another part is her trying to understand the world that has turned three of her former comrades into mass murderers. Onyankopon's relentless patience is a true blessing in that regard; and of course, Niccolo plays a major role in her learning more about Marley and the hostility of the Marleyans towards the Eldian people.  - In spite of her doubts and concerns, she finds great enjoyment in her work whenever the army is sollicited for more productive work: building the railway, assisting in the Queen’s programme for oprhans, moving people back to their homes in Wall Maria... she experiences a much greater sense of purpose whenever the military is used as a force in service of the people, and when she can very directly participate in that.  - Maturity, both as a soldier and a woman, came to her in the form of the realisation that her role is to do whatever it is other people can’t. She joined the Survey Corps because, having seen and faced the titans of Trost as a young cadet, she was equipped to face them again and help keeping them at bay. She saved Kaya and stayed behind to face off the titan because Kaya couldn’t. Her life never revolved around revenge, reclaiming her home, or killing all the titans; it became her life when she was in the position to do so, and there would have been no one else to do it. “If I can do it, then I should” - Sasha follows in her father’s footsteps and philosophy of being part of a greater whole. This newly found drive and sense of duty towards her friends and the civilians of Paradis really confirm themselves over the four-year timeskip, and often conflicts with the questions Marley’s hostility and impending threats raise in her. - The raid on Liberio takes her completely off-guard. It was comfortable, preparing for four years, remaining on stand-by until they could find out more about Zeke’s plan and how to keep the island safe without having to activate the Rumbling. The raid is the first time since the MP’s conspiracy and Erwin Smith’s coup d’état that she has to attack other soldiers. She barely has any time to process it, pressed by urgency as they take off to Liberio; she focuses on what she knows, instead of the myriad of questions assaulting her mind. Take out the soldiers. Take out the Cart Titan. Avoid civilian casualties. Bring people home. Sort everything else out later.  - In any verse where she survives Liberio, once she processes what it is she took part in, her sense of duty and instinct to serve/help/protect also extends to the Eldians from the continent, and even Marleyans, you can pry that off my cold dead hands. She knows exactly why Gabi attacked her, and she very well knows that her desperate action was both a warning and a cry for help from all of the children who ever fell victims to this 2000yo madness. - Unfortunately, both Willy Tybur’s and Eren’s plans are making it extremely difficult, if not impossible, to hold out such idealistic convictions. The two nations are now pitted against each other, war is about to break out, and there is only so much one person can do, when caught in a storm spiralling out of control.

So I do think my OC Kaya-Sei brings up a good point: in becoming a Guardian, you lose all your memories. Your past is forcibly taken from you, and with it, everything that you are and have been.
You are not asked in advance.
You are not offered a choice.
You are not even allowed to remain in the peace and quiet of your own grave.
This decision is made for you by a machine (your Ghost, and thus by extension, the Traveler), and you do not ever get to opt out, and, assuming you do your job as a Guardian right, you'll never have true rest.
In a certain light (one I use Kaya's character to explore a bit), being chosen as a Guardian is a horrifying fate: you die twice, and some new person goes sauntering off in your body, and they're not even allowed to ask questions about who they used to be, because what if that compromises their loyalty to the Big Floaty Jesus Sphere? What if they find they preferred who they were before and that they want no part of being a Guardian?
No wonder Zavala starts freaking out when Ana Bray starts poking around and trying to learn who she used to be.
That would also be why in my headcanon, he insisted that Kaya's team be the ones to try to coax her back: she already decided that being a Guardian was uncomfortably close to being a slave and wanted no part of it. Nobody else could have stood a chance at talking her into staying, but the whole venture was doomed from the start for the same reason: Kaya would see it as an insult, sending her family and best friends to ask politely for her to consider choosing slavery of her own will.
No wonder she ends up in Mara Sov's employ — because Kaya-Sei had been a Queensguard who'd fallen in the line of duty before being chosen as a Guardian, Mara can offer Kaya-Sei so much knowledge about the past that was stolen from her and to Kaya, who is used to simply being a cudgel with an occasional dance-off, being the Queen's Shadow is a path she can choose for herself. This time she can choose who she serves, and that's no small matter for her, and it's worth the heartbreak of what she had to go through in order to be able to choose at all.
Ironically, she'd have probably changed her mind and stayed at the Tower if Zavala had respected her decision to leave in the first place.
At least she has Petra to keep her company. You go girls.
Further addendum: given that, as a Guardian, Kaya-Sei's eternally stuck with her Ghost, Grimsby (literally the thing that is directly responsible for violating her past and stealing everything she was from her), she's probably pretty livid every time he so much as speaks to her. Whatever their relationship is, it's almost certainly neither pleasant or particularly conversational.

Day 1: Beginning
(I’m an idiot that hasn’t written in ages but got ideas cuz of OCkissweek and post them far too late.....anyway hope you enjoy!)
It started like any other day for Kaya. Waking up to the first sunrays shining in her room, dressing herself up and head to the kitchen, many in the castle still slumbering.
She would never get tired of the peaceful atmosphere as she prepares breakfast for the court, assisting her helpers, walking around in the kitchen , still not fully believing that she is really there, living her dream.
As the first people woke up she started to lay the plates out, giving a cheerful greeting to her friends, gaze lingering a bit on the newest members of the court.
They both came from a fairly distant kingdom, being obviously good friends, and lovers, seeming perfect together.
Pia is a winged, the wings on her back shining a beautiful white, glistening in the sunlight, her black hair being a stark contrast to them. She offered to be the Queens tailor, her own appearance showing how much experience she had in that category. Long dresses that lightly touch the ground, most often having golden embroidery along them, making her a stunning sight, royal roots written all over her. But the best thing in Kayas opinion was her voice which she believes to be angelic, smooth but also having a light edge to her words, like a rose with thorns.
Daniel, her partner, is a wonderful balance to her. Being a centaur with white fur that appeared more silver in the light, always wearing a hat, almost as if to hide his hair with the same coloration. He has a surprisingly strong built and often helps with heavy transportation or other physically draining tasks, saying he’s happy to help. He dressed more like a commoner, his royal roots not being identifiable in his attire, humble and nice to every creature he meets. Though his voice was a big contrast to Kaya. Where she expected a confident voice on with a darker tone was instead a light and almost shy voice, sounding to her like the embodiment of kindness.
Their first appearance had Kaya locked in place, not being able to describe the warm feeling every time she sees them, the content when she sees them laugh, and the happiness whenever she talked with them.
In short, these two were gorgeous not only on the outside but also on the inside and Kaya would never have a chance to be with either of them. It didn’t bother her though, her hard working nature telling her that there’s no place for romance, confidence backing her up.
Though there were still moments where she would see them together, chatting about something, giggling, and cuddling.
Moments where all Kaya wants is to join them.
But she didn’t let herself sulk, rather occupying herself with tasks, not letting those thoughts get to her head.
The breakfast passed like usual, Queen Rachel, her royal advisor and guard being the first to leave, thanking her as always, as one by one more started to leave for their work.
Though something seemed odd, as Pia and Daniel remained in their seats, whispering to each other, looking around themselves every few minutes, waiting until the dining room was empty.
The urge to just go and ask them was strong in Kaya, not being someone who likes to ponder, but it felt intrusive, even rude, to interrupt them.
So she continued to steal a few glances as she cleaned the table, planning with her helpers what to prepare next, leaving the kitchen for her break.
As she passed the pair a voice spoke up, Kaya putting a smile on her face as she turned to face them, a little voice in her head whispering bad thoughts to her, trying to ignore it as much as she can, meeting the eyes of Pia as she spoke.
“I apologize for stealing your break but there is something Daniel and I would like to discuss with you.”
“No need for apologizing Pia! I’m always happy to help!”
An uneasy feeling made its way in her stomach, seeing how the pair exchanged looks not helping. Standing up, Pia offered Kaya a hand which she gladly took as she followed them, heart beating unreasonably fast.
The walk let her mind wander, trying to find an explanation on how exactly she got to where she was, all logic falling away as she entered the sleeping chamber of Pia and Daniel with them, taking a good look on it.
It was strangely empty, the biggest thing aside from the enormous wardrobe being the giant mattress in the middle of the room, a desk full of all kinds of trinkets shoved into a corner of the room.
It somehow fit their personality, a small smile on her lips as she they went further inside, Daniel going forth and settling himself on the bed, fingers intertwined as he looked at the ground, his emotions being unreadable, not helping Kayas worry in any way.
Pia lightly tugged her hand, asking without words to settle down, to which Kaya nodded and sat herself on the bed, facing Pia who, she now noticed, had an uneasy expression on her face, brushing her wings against Daniel so he would look up, awkward smile forming as he looked between the two, deciding to settle a hand on Pias shoulder.
As Pia removed her hand Kaya already missed the contact, catching the disappointing sigh before it could get out, only now realizing the situation she was in, her face wanting to turn red, hands laying besides her to hold them still as she waited for someone to speak.
Those few minutes felt like an eternity, desperately wanting to speak to have at least some sound but being too afraid to even move from her position, settling for looking on her knees, the sound of someone clearing their throat bringing her attention back to Pia.
“Again, I’m sorry for interrupting you break to talk to y-”
“Its no problem! Really! You could never bother me!”
The words just seemed to flow out of Kaya, not being able to stop them before being spoken, cursing herself for it.
Though Pia just smiled at the words, gaining a bit more confidence as she continued  on.
“Our time here has been wonderful. We couldn’t believe how nice the people here were, how Rachel welcomed us and how he court didn’t judge us when we arrived. It truly has been phenomenal.”
Daniel smiled at the statement, quietly confirming Pias words, the love for those two growing at seeing how adorable these tow were, Pia starting to talk again.
“We were starting anew, uncertain where it would take us. And there was something we hoped you could help us with.”
Kaya nodded along, prompting Pia to continue on.
“There is someone that caught our eyes and we don’t know how to approach.”
Kayas heart sank. Of course.
She knew almost everyone, and was on good terms with each of them. It was logical to ask her for help.
The thought of seeing someone with Pia and Daniel made her chest hurt, eyes burning lightly the smile wavering the tiniest bit, not letting her feeling be known, putting on fake enthusiasm.
“Oh, that’s wonderful to hear!”
The tension felt like it was getting stronger but Kaya kept speaking.
“So, who is the lucky one?”
It felt like the air got sucked out of the room, no one risking to open their mouth, holding their breath as it was their last. It wasn’t helping that Pia wasn’t meeting her eyes anymore, Daniels hand shaking the slightest bit, being barely visible.
Why would they be so scared to tell her? It made Kaya restless, fearing the worst as whats going to happen next.
They probably realized that she was absolute no help, never wanting to be around her ever again, going to ask someone else, losing them forever.
It sounded illogical if Kaya was being honest, but at the moment it felt like the truth, trying to save the situation in some way.
“You don’t have to be shy! I won’t tell!”
An awkward chuckle leaving her as she waited for a response from either of the two, Pia daring to meet her gaze again.
“Well, its uhm,, its you know.....eh-”
“its you”
The sudden statement from Daniel made them bot turn their eyes to him, Pia tensing up, her wings fluttering for a second, Daniel gently squeezing her shoulder as comfort, finally meeting Kayas eyes as he started to explain.
“The moment we met you, we were entranced. To be more exact, Pia was entranced and couldn’t stop thinking about you. I was a little more busy and had my mind on other things but as we started to spend time I have slowly fallen for you, but didn’t know how to approach you.”
Kaya was left speechless. She couldn’t process what Daniel just said. They liked her. They want to be with her. It felt like a fever dream, frozen on the spot, coming back to reality when Pia gently took her hand again, her eyes showing uncertainty but also hope.
“Kaya, we love you. Would you like to be in a relationship with us?”
Pia said it slow, seeming almost scared of rejection. Another minute passed as Kaya just shut her head off, being better to tell with actions rather than words, running her thumb over Pias hand.
Getting closer to Pia, moving her head in a slow motion, asking silently for permission, to which Pia answered with a nod, Kaya planting a light kiss on her cheek.
She leaned further to Daniel, him meeting Kaya halfway, also receiving a kiss on the cheek, smiling again. As she leaned back again she noticed Pias pondering look tapping her hand in question, Pia voicing her question.
“What makes this?”
Kaya giggled at that, Pia getting the slightest blush on her face, Kaya taking her other hand in her own as she answered.
“Its the beginning of us!”

King And Queen Of The Pirates
Chapter Eight, Jango The Hypnotist!
"Actually Klahadore these people are -"
"Not now Kaya. You can tell me all about these riff-raff after they've left. Now get out, all of you. Leave now, unless you have business with me." said Klahadore, sternly, silencing the young girl then adjusted his glasses.
"Oh, do you think you can help us get a ship?" asked Luffy.
"Certainly not." Klahadore dismissed Luffy. Luffy frowned, disappointed. Then Klahadore looked up at the tree next to Kaya's room.
"Usopp!" He called out. Usopp jumped as he was startled, nearly loosing his balance as he hanged upside down from the tree.
"Crap." He cursed under his breath.
"I hear that you're a pirate." said Klahadore.
"Sure, I am." said Usopp as he climbed up back on the branch, chuckling.
"I hear that you've been on many adventures. Quite impressive for someone as young as you." asked Klahadore, doubtfully.
"I'm actually a captain, so it's Captain Usopp to you." said Usopp as he climbed on a branch, standing on it, and chuckled.
"A captain?" Klahadore snickered as he pushed up his glasses. "You're father also had some kind of reputation. A no-good filthy pirate." He said smirking. Usopp glared angrily at the butler.
"What?" He scowled, gritting his teeth. His hands were shaking in fury. Kaya gasped. Aya shot the butler a dirty glare. "Who does this guy think he is?!" thought Aya to herself.
"Klahadore, please just stop!" She ordered, but Klahadore ignored her.
"You're never going to be nothing more than the son of a filthy pirate. Who knows what sort of trouble he's doing now? All I ask is that you and your kind leave this respectable young lady alone." said Klahadore.
"A filthy pirate..." growled Usopp.
"You and her live in completely different worlds and you know it. Is it money you're after? How much do you want?"
"That's enough, Klahadore. Apologize to him!" yelled Kaya, angrily. Usopp stared at her, surprised by her outburst.
"Hey, calm down Kaya." He said, worried, seeing that Kaya was leaning out a little too far out the window. He was scared that she was going to fall out of it.
"I don't have any reason to apologize to him. My goal isn't to slander, only just to prove a point." said Klahadore looking at Usopp. "I feel sorry for you. you hate your father don't you? Because your idiot father abandoned his family for the seas and mindless lust for treasure." Klahadore pressed more.
"Klahadore, stop!" shouted Kaya.
"Don't you dare insult my father ever again!" shouted Usopp. Then he jumped down from the tree branch.
"Usopp!" Kaya called out, startled. Then she saw that a hook was secured on the branch as Usopp slide down. She sighed in relief and Usopp landed on the ground and the hook unlatched itself from the branch and went back into Usopp's satchel.
"What has gotten you so worked up, Usopp?" asked Klahadore as he pushed up his glasses. "It's times like these that you do what you do best. Why not lie and tell her about how your father became a traveling salesman? Or that you have nothing to do with him that you're not even related? Or how about your mother-" Krack! Everyone gasped in shock as Usopp punched Klahadore, knocking the butler to the ground.
"See! He resorts to violence! I guess the apple never falls far from the tree, does it?" Klahadore babbled. "SHUT UP!" shouted Usopp. Klahadore flinched. "My father listened to his heart and chose a life of risk and adventure. I am proud to say that my old man is a brave warrior of the seas. I will never lie about who my father is! I refuse to be ashamed of my heritage. I am the son of a pirate!" Usopp declared loudly.
Klahadore snorted. "Pirates are brave warriors of the seas are they? Don't make me laugh." He asked as he got up, dusting off his suit. "It's bad enough that you run around spatting lies. But, the real reason that you want to be close to Miss Kaya is because of her money."
"You're wrong, I only-!"
"Your father is a filthy no-good pirate. Treachery is in your blood!" shouted Klahadore, angrily.
"You just won't let up, will you?!" Shouted Usopp. He grabbed the butler by his suit getting ready to punch him again.
"Stop it, Usopp, please!" begged Kaya. Immediately, Usopp paused and hesitantly lowered his fist. He turned to Kaya.  "No more fighting. I can't take it! Klahadore isn't a bad person. He's only doing what he thinks is best for me, but sometimes he can go too far."
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" Shouted Aya, angrily.
Kaya jumped as she was startled and turned and looked at the sea foam eyes girl in shock, so did everyone else, surprised by her outburst. Luffy blinked as he watched silently. Aya stepped up but Zoro tried to hold her back. "Don't get involved. This has nothing to do with you." He said as he placed a hand on her shoulder. But, Aya shrugged it off then she looked up at Kaya, giving her a harsh stare. The blond hair girl shivered feeling a chill run through her body.
"I-Is there something wrong?" asked Kaya, nervously.
"You say that you're owner of this place, correct?" Questioned Aya. Kaya smiled. "Yes, but-" But, Aya interrupted her. "Then why are you letting this punk walk all over you? You're the boss aren't you? Why are you letting him do this to you!? He's supposed to take orders from you, not the other way around! Are you freaking stupid or freaking dumb?!" Shouted Aya. Kaya stared at the sea foam eyed girl with wide eyes, completely speechless, as she was stunned with shock. Klahadore glared.
"Man, she's scary." thought Usopp to himself.
"That is enough! I do want to hear another word out of you. Lady Kaya is not well enough to decide things on her own. You're making it worse as it is, encouraging her to do so. So stay out of our affairs!" Shouted Klahadore.
"Bullshit!" Shouted Aya. But, she was held back by Nami and Zoro as they grabbed her holding her arms. Aya struggled but their grip was too strong.
"Stop, you're going making things worse for us." Muttered Zoro.
"Honestly, you're like this idiot, always rushing things recklessly." hissed Nami, as she jerked her thumb over her shoulder gesturing to Luffy. A dark shadow casted over Aya's face. Zoro cringed. Then, Aya slowly turned her head looking at Nami.
"Do you want to feel how hard I can punch?" threatened Aya.
Nami slapped Aya on the back of her head. Zoro's eyes widen. Luffy cringed. This is not going well. "What did you say to me?!" Shouted Nami. Aya smirked. "You heard me. You and me, right now, let's go!" Luffy and Zoro tried to hold the girls back.
"Aya, no! We need a navigator!" Begged Luffy as he and Zoro tried to pry the girls apart from trying to kill each other as they tried to throw punches.
As the group were arguing, Klahadore looked at Usopp.
"And as for you, I want you to leave this place. You are never to come here, again!" said Klahadore, coldly.
"Yeah, I get it. You don't have to tell me twice. This is the last that you'll ever see of me." said Usopp. He walked past the butler not even looking at him, leaving the garden.
"Hey, you butler jerk! Our captain is not that kind of guy!" Carrot called out. Klahadore looked and saw the three boys as they climbed over the hedge and ran over to the group, glaring angrily at the butler.
"Jerkface!" The three boys shouted.
"Jerkface!" Shouted Luffy as well. Zoro whacked him on the head. "Stay out of it." muttered Zoro. These two are driving him crazy. Klahadore gave the group a harsh glare. The three boys began shaking and they quickly ran over to Nami hiding behind her.
"What are you doing?! Don't hide behind me!" She shouted.
"You will all leave, immediately!" Ordered Klahadore. The group walked away quietly as they left the garden, dragging Aya away.
"This is not over! You hear me, you butler punk!" She screamed angrily. "THIS. IS. NOT. OVER!" Klahadore smirked.
Inside, Kaya's room, she was sitting on her bed, holding her pillow crying. She couldn't stop thinking about what Klahadore said to Usopp. Then the sea foamed eyed girl appeared in her mind as her angry face burned into her memory. "Are you kidding me?! You're the boss aren't you? Why are you letting him do this to you!? He's supposed to take orders from you, not the other way around! Are you freaking stupid or freaking dumb?!"
Kaya felt her chest began to grow got as she grew angrier. She gripped the pillow tightly with her fingers. Who does this girl think she is? She doesn't know what's she's been through! She can't possibly know how she's feeling! How dare she?! Kaya's eyes widen in shock. Where did that emotion come from? She never felt anything like that before. Could she possibly envy that girl? Suddenly, Kaya heard a knock on the door. Kaya knew who it was and stayed silent not answering. The door opened and a cart wheeled in that carrying food and tea for her as Klahadore entered.
"Time for your meal, Miss Kaya." said Klahadore, softly.
"I don't want it." Mumbled Kaya, refusing to look at him. Klahadore sighed.
"It'll break the Chefs heart to hear you say that. They are trying very hard to come up with food that make you healthy." He said then he picked up a tall pot  filled with warm milk and poured it into a tea pot.
"Why did you say that to him?" said Kaya. Klahadore stopped what he was doing and looked at the young girl.
"It was my fault that I saw him without your permission. But, you and didn't have to take it that far." She said. Klahadore stared at the girl sadly and set the pot down on the cart.
"May I sit?" He asked, calmly.
"Go ahead." said Kaya. Klahadore walked over and sat down on the side of the bed.
"It's been 3 years since I've arrived at this house." Kaya looked up and she gasped when she was that Klahadore's shoulders shaking as tears began to build up in his eyes.
"I've never forget that day. I used to work on a ship, but, they fired me because I did not complete my work.I walked and I walked until I arrived at this village. At the time, I didn't have a job, I didn't have any money, and I almost died of hunger. But, your father helped me, he saved my life...and you, are his most precious daughter. I know that it's not good to get involved in your personal life too much. However, I can not find the heart to trust that boy, because...if...if anything was to happen to you. How can I face your father, who took me in?" He covered his face with one hand and his lower lip was trembling, starting to burst into tears.
"I know that I was too hard on him. Are you angry at me?" He asked.
"It's not like that." said Kaya. Klahadore turned to her. "I am very grateful for everything you've done for me, Klahadore. But, Usopp is not a bad person." She said. Klahadore stood up and adjusted his glasses.
"It doesn't matter if he's good or bad." He said.
"Klahadore, you really are a narrow-minded person!" Shouted Kaya.
"Yes, I am." Said Klahadore as he turned his head to Kaya, smiling. Kaya smiled in return.
In an open road in the middle of a field, Zoro, Nami, Pepper and Carrot were sitting next to a fence. Nami noticed that Luffy and Aya weren't with them.
"Hey, where did Luffy and Aya go?" She asked.
"Who knows, they've probably gone after that "captain." answered Zoro. He rested his back against the fence, sitting on the ground with his arms crossed resting his head on them.
"I bet he's at his secret spot!" exclaimed Pepper.
"Yeah, over by the shore. He's goes there when he needs to think. Wanna go see if he's there?" asked Carrot, as he looked at the swordsman.
"It's fine." said Zoro.
"Luffy can take care of himself, Aya too." Said Nami.
"Wonder where Onion went?" asked Pepper, seeing that he had been gone a long time. Suddenly, the group heard screaming and saw Onion running towards them with a look of horror on his face.
"Terrible news, guys! Listen to me!" He screamed.
"Here he comes." Said Carrot as Onion ran up to them.
"There's a guy in his way here but he only walks backwards!" He shouted.
"You liar." said Pepper and Carrot in disbelief.
"It's the truth!" Shouted Onion then he pointed down the path. "Look! There he is!"
Everyone looked to see a man moon-walking towards them, getting closer. He stopped and looked at them. The man had long gray hair, wearing red heart shaped glasses, a dark blue hat and jacket, olive green pants and gloves, and tall white socks and black shoes.
"Hey! Who told you that I'm weird? I'm not a weirdo. I'm just an ordinary run of the mill hypnotist." The man exclaimed.
"A hypnotist?" asked Onion in awe.
"Awesome! Do something!" asked Pepper excitedly.
"What? What makes you think I would do anything for certain strangers? Fine, then." said the man as he pulled out a ring holding it in front of him.
"Why didn't he just say that in the first place?" Zoro questioned to himself, giving the man a suspicious look.
"Look at this ring closely. On the count of Jango you'll be in a deep sleep." said the hypnotist as the ring began to swing left and right. "One, Two,...Jango!"
The three boys fell backwards lying on the ground fast asleep, including the hypnotist as well.
"Who is this freak?!" exclaimed Zoro.
On the edge of the cliff near the shores, Usopp was sitting with his legs crossed watching the waves, as he listened to sound of it as the waves crashed onto the beach. It was calming for him. He like to think that it was his father was talking to him, comforting him. Usopp was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't notice Luffy was hanging upside down in front of him from the branch of the tree.
"HI!" Shouted Luffy excitedly. Usopp jumped back, startled.
"What are you doing here?" asked Luffy
"I came here to be alone, but I guess that's not happening!" Said Usopp as he frowned. "Did you follow me? What do you want?!"
"Oh, you know, nothing." Luffy lets go from the branch and started to walk on his hands until he fell forward landing on his face. "Ouch! That hurts."
"We actually came to check on you?" a voice called out. Usopp turned and he let out a startled scream and nearly fell back seeing Aya sitting next to him. Luffy giggled.
"Don't do that!" shouted Usopp as he felt his heart racing, trying to it calm down. "Ahh! You nearly gave me a heart attack!" Aya laughed.
"Sorry, we wouldn't want that would we?" Aya laughed. Usopp frowned.
"What do you want?" He asked.
"Are you okay?" asked Aya
"I can't believe that butler, insulting my old man like that." mumbled Usopp.
"Yeah, he's was a jerk." said Aya.
"Yeah, I hate that guy, too. No matter what anyone says, Yasopp was a great pirate." said Luffy. Usopp smiled as he felt enthusiasm rush through him, hearing about his dad.
"Yeah, really! I've always looked up to my old man, for always putting his life on the line. He made a brave choice and I admire him for that! That stupid snotty butler stomped all over my pride, he's going to pay for that." said Usopp.
"Hey, wait, do you know if you'll ever see that girl again?" asked Luffy.
"I-I don't know. I'll consider it, if that butler apologizes to me for what he said." answered Usopp.
"You mean that butler right there?" asked Aya as she pointed down below them. It was Klahadore but he wasn't alone.
"Yeah, that's the one, he's-!" Usopp's widen in shock and he immediately ducked down pulling Luffy and Aya down with him. "WHAT IN THE WORLD IS HE DOING DOWN THERE?!" He exclaimed. The three listened in on the conversation between the two.
"He's talking to some weird guy." said Luffy.
"I've never seen him before. Who is he?" questioned Usopp.
"Jango, I told you not attract the attention of the villagers. But, you slept in the middle of the street?" said Klahadore, strictly.
"Don't be stupid, I did not attract any attention." said the hypnotist. Klahadore frowned and adjusted his glasses.
"I assume everything is going as planned?" He asked.
"Of course, we can start anytime. We could kill the girl now." said Jango. Luffy, Aya, and Usopp cringed as they gasped in shock.
"K-Kill her?!" stammered Usopp.
"What are those guys talking about?" questioned Luffy.
"Just be quiet. Maybe if we listen a little closer, we'll find out." said Usopp.
"We can't simply kill her. It is very critical that you make it look like that Miss Kaya perishes in an unfortunate accident. So don't screw it up." Klahadore sighed as he frowned at the man's stupidity.
"So, you want me to make it look like an accident, to kill the little rich girl? When you get your inheritance, we'll all get paid, right?"
"You moron, your ignorance is outstanding. We're not related so how can I inherit anything from her?" Klahadore growled.
"Now listen closely, before you kill her, you need to make lady Kaya write her will. And it will say I will leave my entire fortune to my butler, Klahadore." He said with an evil smirk and sinister look in his eyes. Usopp gasped as stared at the terrifying man before him. He couldn't believe it. They were really going to kill Kaya. "Then and only then will I have assume control over her fortune. I've have spent my entire life gaining the trust of everyone around me, so that it would be unsurprising of her to leave her entire inheritance to me. Just make it quick." said the butler.
"That's funny coming from you. You don't think that you're perhaps going soft, Captain Kuro?" Jango snickered. Klahadore shot him a glare.
"Never call me that again. I abandoned that name years ago." He scoffed.
"When you told me that you didn't want to be a pirate anymore. You got one of your crew to acts like a double for you to make it look like Captain Kuro was executed. But, after all this time, here you are alive and well, under everyone's suspicion, posing as a butler." Said Jango as he laughed. "Some butler you are, murdering an entire family just to get what you want."
"Hold on, I haven't murdered an entire family. The father's death wasn't planned."
"Whatever you say it means no difference to me. The crew have been awaiting your orders for over a week. They're itching to scratch their claws." said Jango, eager to get started.
Up on the cliff, Usopp was completely in shock as his body was shaking. He clenched the grass tightly with his hands. "This is horrible! This is really horrible!"
"I officially don't like this guy." murmured Aya to herself as she glared at the butler.
"What they talking about? Is it bad guy stuff?" asked Luffy. Usopp looked at the straw hat with disbelief. Aya sighed.
"What? Were you even listening to that?! Those guys aren't just bad, they're evil! Captain Kuro is the most dangerous and devious pirate around. He's known for his smarts and legendary brutality. The Marines captured him and executed him a few years ago. But, Captain Kuro is alive and well and he he has his diabolical sights set on Kaya's fortune for the last three years! First, they'll attack the village. Then they'll kill Kaya!" explained Usopp. He imagined the villagers being brutally slaughtered by the pirates and Kaya's horrified look on her face as she let out a blood curdling scream as a pirate brought his sword down on her.
"This is bad! This is seriously bad!" said Usopp as he gripped his head tightly trying to get rid of the thought from his mind. "We won't let that happen. We'll figure something out. They don't know that we've heard everything, so we got the element of surprise on our hands." said Aya as and tried to reassure the long nosed man. Luffy looked at the two as they were whispering to each other then back towards the two men below them and stood up.
"Hey, get down! They'll see you!" hissed Usopp as he grabbed Luffy's hand trying to pull him down, before the two spotted the two spotted him.
"HEY BAD GUYS! YOU BETTER STAY AWAY FROM THAT GIRL!" Screamed Luffy out loudly. The two men looked up seeing the three.
Aya sighed. "Well, there goes our element of surprise." She murmured to herself, turning her head frowning at Luffy. "I hope you're proud of yourself."
"Your way is boring." said Luffy.
"It's called having a plan, dumb ass."  Aya whispered, harshly.
"They've spotted you! Get down!" hissed Usopp, panicking. Klahadore smirked.
"Well now if it isn't, Usopp?" He said in a harsh and cold tone of voice. Usopp screamed.
"Ahh! Now, I'm spotted too!"
"Did you hear anything?" said the butler in a deadly tone.
"No! Nothing at all! We just got here! We didn't hear a peep! Nothing at all!" Usopp stammered, nervously, panicking even more.
"We heard it all." said Luffy. Usopp smacked the straw hat captain on his shoulder. "Shut up!"
Kuro sighed. He looked at Jango giving him a signal. "Well, if you say so." said the hypnotist as he brought out his ring. "Pay attention, brats and watch this ring closely." He called out to the three As he began to swing the ring sideways. Luffy leaned in looking closer, interested, becoming entranced.
"Okay." He said. Usopp and Aya tried to pull him back.
"Don't you get it, it's some kind of weapon. We got to run!" exclaimed Usopp.
"On the count of Jango, you'll be in a deep sleep. Are you ready?" said the hypnotist as he began counting.
"One, two,..." Usopp and Aya leaped for cover as he began counting.
"Run for cover!" shouted Usopp.
"Jango!" shouted Jango. Luffy's eyes suddenly began to feel heavy until he fell asleep standing up. Jango fell backwards leaning on the butler.
"Jango, you idiot! I see your still falling asleep on the job!" said Klahadore frustrated as he tried to push the hypnotist off of him. Then Luffy suddenly began teeter as he leaned dangerously over the edge of the cliff.
"Hey, be careful! You're going to fall!" Usopp called out. But, it was too late, as Luffy had fallen over the edge.
"Luffy!" shouted Aya. Luffy crashed on the bottom landing on his head with a hard crack.
"He fell down, with that height, No one could survive that fall." said Jango as he looked at Luffy, who was not moving. Usopp clenched the grass tightly with his hands in horror.
"This can't be happening! They killed him. Hes really dead."
"Don't worry, he's not dead. Luffy's like a cockroach, he's hard to kill." said Aya. Usopp looked up at her with disbelief.
"How can you be so heartless? That's your brother down there! Did you not see what just happened?! Nobody can survive a call from that height!" He shouted.
"What about the others? Shall I take care of them?" Jango asked.
"There's no need."  said Klahadore. "Jango, tomorrow, at day break, prepare to attack the village. Above all, make sure that Kaya's death looks accidental." He finished as he smirked menacingly at Usopp.
"T-Tomorrow?" Usopp stammered. Klahadore smiled grinning from ear to ear.
"Face it, Usopp. There's nothing that you can say or do to warn the villagers of this impending tragedy." Usopp stared at him in shock until Aya placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Go. I'll stay with Luffy." She said as she pushed him away.
"B-But,- Are you crazy?! You're just going to get killed as well! Just like him!" shouted Usopp.
"My brother's not dead." said Aya, not moving from her spot. Usopp shook his head grabbed Aya's arm. "We have to run! Come on!"
Aya shrugged his hand off of her and give Usopp a cold stare. He froze. "No! You go. Warn the others, get their help. But, I'm staying." said Aya.
"I can't just leave you here to-"
"GO!" Roared Aya. Usopp screamed.  He quickly turned around and ran off. Aya looked down seeing the butler and the hypnotist walking away, glaring at them as they did. Then she glanced over at Luffy who was still not moving.
"The things that you put me through, idiot." She muttered under her breath as she began to climb down the rocky cliff.
Usopp ran through the woods as fast as he could heading towards the village. "I can't believe it! Everyone is in danger! Everyone that I know and love is going to be slaughtered. And Kaya's going to be killed! I can't let that happen to the people I love!" An image of Kaya appeared in his mind, smiling. He remembered the times that he and Kaya spent together, him telling her stories, and her beautiful laughter and smile. Then a pair of sea foamed eyes appeared in his mind as Aya appeared as well.  "And not her as well. I can't let that happen!" Tears began to fall down his face like waterfalls as he continued to run.
"DAMN IT!"

Books Read in 2019: The Why
In a tradition I accidentally started for myself and now quite enjoy, at the end of the year I look back at my reading list and answer the question, why did you read this particular book?
Below, the books are split into groups by target readership age, plus nonfiction at the end. This year I have added the category “how I heard of it” as well, because I just think that info is neat.
FICTION
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Visitor - K.L. Slater. 2018. Read because: Ten episodes of The Good Cop weren't enough, so I tried to find something w/ similar characters, and this looked kinda like "TJ as a slightly more withdrawn weirdo." By the time I realized it wouldn't work due to being British, I was too excited by the prospect of a thriller to stop.
How I heard of it: Googling keywords
Like the Red Panda - Andrea Seigel. 2004. The back cover and first few pages reminded me of a friend I had once.
How I heard of it: Library
The Lost Vintage - Ann Mah. 2018. What's that? You've got some secret family history/a mystery from the past to be solved using old personal papers, including a diary? My jams.
How I heard of it: Goodreads
The Asylum for Wayward Victorian Girls (4th ed.) - Emilie Autumn. 2017. I googled for books that promised unique formatting/art design, and Emilie Autumn has always been an intriguing enigma to me.
I Heard the Owl Call My Name - Margaret Craven. 1967. I know this title, but not why -- when I tripped over it in the teen* section and saw how tiny it was, I decided to find out what it was about. (*it's there because it's often taught in schools. It's here because its intended audience is adult.)
Escape - Barbara Delinsky. 2011. Went looking for an audiobook -- the cover with a woman standing on a small bridge amidst the woods drew me in (I can't find that cover on the internet though), and the idea of abandoning responsibility and driving off to a small town sounded like my dream.
How I heard of it: Library
Saul and Patsy - Charles Baxter. 2003. Another search result from my attempt to cast Josh Groban in a novel -- Midwestern-set and a man very much in love with his wife, no worries about the relationship being wrecked? Sweet! (though ultimately, I had to mentally recast)
How I heard of it: Googling
California - Edan Lepucki. 2014. Needed an audiobook. The title and green forest cover caught my eye, and the off-the-grid life + promise of a mysterious and possibly suspicious settler community described in the plot appealed to me.
How I heard of it: Library
The Lost Queen of Crocker County - Elizabeth Leiknes. 2018. Woman moves back home to rural Iowa in a book described as a "love letter to the Midwest"? Look at all these good choices.
How I heard of it: Library
All The Things You Are - Declan Hughs. 2014. Was looking for a different book w/ this title, but saw Spooky Dark House cover + wild summary and wanted to know how that could possibly happen / what the explanation was.
How I heard of it: Library catalog
Tumbledown Manor - Helen Brown. 2016. Cover love. A book about restoring a historic family manor?? BRING ME THERE.
How I heard of it: Library
The War Bride's Scrapbook - Caroline Preston. 2017. IT'S LITERALLY A SCRAPBOOK. I loved her other one like this.
How I heard of it: Goodreads
Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day - Winifred Watson. 1938. Rewatched the movie and needed to relive an alternate take immediately (especially for more Michael).
How I heard of it: special features on the DVD
April & Oliver - Tess Callahan. 2009. This just screamed "(slightly less storybook) Ned/Chuck AU!!" [Pushing Daisies] at me. There was semi-platonic comfort-spooning in the second chapter, COME ON.
How I heard of it: Half Price Books
A Short Walk to the Bookshop - Aleksandra Drake. 2019. This looked like an even more solid Ned/Chuck AU, missing only the childhood connection/age similarity, with bonus fave keywords anxiety, widower, bookshop and dog.
How I heard of it: Googling
Girl Last Seen - Nina Laurin. 2017. Recently watched "Captive" and wanted a story of the aftermath from the captive's perspective.
How I heard of it: Goodreads (specifically, I looked up an older book by this title intending to check out related recs, but this came up first)
The Road to Enchantment - Kaya McLaren. 2017. Gorgeous cover/title + "single [pregnant] woman inherits late mother's ranch" = an alternate life I want to try on.
How I heard of it: Library
From Sand and Ash - Amy Harmon. 2016. Love between childhood best friends who can’t (well, aren’t supposed to) touch? Sounds like a Ned/Chuck AU to me!
How I heard of it: a book blog post
My Oxford Year - Julia Whelan. 2018. Always here for age-appropriate student/teacher romances -- I had this one saved for a while -- but read now specifically to cast David Tennant.
How I heard of it: Goodreads
The Reckoning at Gossamer Pond - Jaime Jo Wright. 2018. There's a mystery from the past being solved in the present. Also, "inherited hoarder's trailer" made me v. curious about what was inside.
How I heard of it: a book blog post
My Husband the Stranger - Rebecca Done. 2017. It's Find Books That Remind Me Of David Tennant's Roles Month, and this was my crack at "Recovery."
How I heard of it: Googling
The House on Foster Hill - Jaime Jo Wright. 2017. Fixing up a spooky abandoned historic house + solving a mystery from the past in the present!
How I heard of it: a book blog post
Broadchurch - Erin Kelly. 2014. Fell in love with the show, had to immediately relive it in text form.
How I heard of it: Goodreads
The Vanishing - Wendy Webb. 2014. Spooky historic mansion from a reliable author for the spookening season.
How I heard of it: looking up the author’s back catalog
The Scholar - Dervla McTiernan. 2019. The Ruin - Dervla McTiernan. 2018. "Hmmm looks kind of like (Irish) Broadchurch but where the detective character has a girlfriend to fuss over and worry about. Nice." Read out of order because the second one had more girlfriend content, and enjoyed it enough to go back for book 1.
How I heard of it: Googling
The Day She Died - Catriona McPherson. 2014. The cover looked perfect for the Spook Season/gloomy weather. Sign me up for insta-families and murder mysteries w/ MCs in possible danger any day.
How I heard of it: library (literally because it was right next to McTiernan)
Still Missing - Chevy Stevens. 2010. Collecting base material for when I play this scenario (abduction/prolonged captivity and its aftermath) out w/ TV characters I like.
How I heard of it: Goodreads
This Is How You Lose The Time War - Amal El-Mohtar & Max Gladstone. 2019. It sounded EXACTLY like a (genderbent) Doctor/Master or Crowley/Aziraphale relationship.
How I heard of it: a book blog post
The Tale of Halcyon Crane - Wendy Webb. 2010. Wanted an audiobook and I like this author (esp. for spook season).
How I heard of it: author’s back catalog
The Child Garden - Catriona McPherson. 2015. I liked her previous book and this setting looked even spookier and more atmospheric.
How I heard of it: author’s back catalog
Quiet Neighbors - Catriona McPherson. 2016. One last dip into this author...because what part of "woman gets a job organizing the books in 'the oldest bookshop in a town full of bookshops' + an old cottage to stay in" does not sound like my dream life?
How I heard of it: author’s back catalog
Doctor Who: The Nightmare of Black Island - Mike Tucker. 2006. After 2.5 months in a Ten/Rose spiral, the time was nigh to pluck one of their novels I didn’t get around to reading back in my original fandom heyday.
How I heard of it: can't remember
Misery - Stephen King. 1987. I just woke up one day and decided I was in the mood to try this infamous mother of all literary whumps.

The Whisper Man - Alex North. 2019. Went looking for books that would remind me of the father/son dynamic in "The Escape Artist."
How I heard of it: Googling
Open Your Eyes - Paula Daly. 2018. Second crack at a "Recovery"-shaped novel (it failed instantly because I didn’t take the possibility of diversity into account, but suspense is still a good genre regardless).
How I heard of it: Googling

How I heard of it: Goodreads

The Pull of Gravity - Gae Polisner. 2011. I was looking for quality male friendships, but the male/female friendship + road trip in this search result sounded like I could cast them as teen versions of Survivor contestants. I forget which ones.

Happened to be on the shelf when I checked to see what non-Alice books of hers the library had in stock, and figured as long I'm on a Naylor kick, this might as well happen. New Secrets || Aubrey & Rye
The tournament itself was the height of insanity, but what transpired during and after it was far beyond any kind of logical reasoning of how such a day should unfold. Rye still wasn’t certain whether to be upset about it or not. The tournament, for the most part, had been halted, and he liked to believed many of the humans that would’ve died had been spared. But so many more were sitting, waiting in the cells under Roheim, for the King’s judgement.
It had been some time since the tournament though, and everyone he’d been worried about during it were accounted for. He trusted Kaya to be able to convince the King to free the Wolves that had bene taken prisoner; there hadn’t been many, and even without her influence, Rye was fairly confident Oberon knew the stakes. The alliance with the Wolves was tenuous at best, and he didn’t believe the King would risk alienating them over an attack during the tournament that none of them had likely had any part in. Kit was safe, even if Rye questioned Maddox’s methods and priorities. Rye had even seen that Rosemary was safe, though he hadn’t spoken to her outside of polite pleasantries exchanged over dinners she’d been required to attend by the Queen’s side. He wanted to seek her out, to find out her side of what had happened, since she’d seemed to disappear in the confusion after the guard had collapsed.
But there was someone Rye needed to speak to first. Even if the Queen had believed her to simply vanish, only to reappear later where she was expected to be, by the Queen’s side, Rye had seen the disappearing act more closely. And witnessed the artist behind her escape.
“I’m here to see Aubrey,” Rye said when a man answered the door at Crane Manor. He didn’t wait for an invitation or for the servant to announce his arrival to the master of the home. Rye simply brushed past him, ignoring the sputtered responses that he needed to remain where he was until Lord Crane came for him. “He won’t mind,” Rye assured him, before casting his gaze around the expansive room he’d stepped into. “Aubrey?” He called out, making his way down a dimly lit hallway. Rye couldn’t remember the last time he’d been in Crane Manor. Sometime during or before the war, he expected. Certainly not since Aubrey had taken over title and control of it. Rye looked back to the servant, eyes raised in a silent question.
“He’s—He’s downstairs, I expect,” he muttered quietly. Rye followed the servant’s gaze to a door further down the hall, and made a beeline for it.
“Aubrey? You down there?” Rye called when he opened the door, watching for movement in the light that he could see flickering at the bottom of the stairs.

Manon was downright pissed. The Yellowlegs bitch somehow took her ward and is now asking for twice as much as her supplier was asking for. Her gang, her grandmother, was counting on her to collect the newest batch of laced heroine and get it dispatched to their sellers quickly. Their clients were getting pissy and when clients get pissy they stop paying.
Walking towards the Grunge and Glory, she knew two things. The first being that her grandmother was going to be at her door in no less than a week. The second being she should kill the entire Yellowlegs gang so Iskra can stop making her life a shit hole. She walks into her tattoo shop that she and her close knit group run to pay for their house. The rest of their money, which is quite a lot,  comes from the smuggling they do for her grandmother’s business. Manon was raised by her grandmother and didn’t feel like only having her to fall back on so she got trained in tattooing.
“I don’t know, maybe you shouldn’t have had sex with a guy in the back alley of a bar in Moncrief.”
“He was attractive and, besides, you could tell from across the bar he was packing.”
“Packing what? A gun?” Some of the Thirteen laugh at Kaya’s innocence. She has only ever been with one person, something only she can say inside the confines of their friend group, and that would be Thea, her lover and reason for joining a drug dealing gang.
“No, you dumbass, a big dick actually,” Vesta says once Manon pulls back the curtain. “I see you guys are doing work,” She says, rolling her eyes at the women slumming around their shop. “We work very hard, thank you very much,” Her cousin and closest friend, Asterin says without any hint of sarcasm.
“Mmhmm, I’m sure,” Manon sets down her bag. She knew from the moment she saw a tattoo gun she wanted to learn how to use one. Her grandmother didn’t approve of course, but she could do both.
“What do you think our FBI agents look like?” Asterin asks from her own work chair. “I think they are all gross, old, white men who jack off while we’re changing.”
“Asterin, ew, can you not? I’m eating?” Sorrel says while indeed eating a salad. Manon shakes her head and slightly smiles at their conversation. The joke that the FBI watches people is absurd. If they did she would be in prison along with everyone else in a this dark world.
Elide disliked a lot of things. Her uncle, her boss, her lamed leg, but more than anything, she disliked this godsdamned diner more than anything. Her parents died when she was eight and left her with a trust fund, but it had all been spent by her dick of an uncle way before her eighteenth birthday had arrived. The consequences of her uncle being a drunk are that while she was working her internship she needed to pay rent, buy food, and basic necessities by working at this shit diner in the middle of D. C.  The people who frequently visited the diner were either stressed, but kind, college kids and drug addicts who made her want to spit in the already watered-down coffee.
She had just gotten to work and changed into her short, skimpy uniform when the cook decides to start throwing a fit. She walks into the dirty kitchen and sees the one of the waitresses dropped a plate. She watches the cook yell in a language she never quite identified and walked out to start on her tables.
The food was cheap, and they did have running WiFi which were the only reasons she could ever reason for someone wanting to voluntarily eat or even breathe here. Elide limps over to table five already writing down Johnny’s order, but when she looks up it is not Johnny sitting there. White hair, leather jacket, long black nails, sitting in her shitty diner. Elide drops the order pad and the beautiful woman looks at her with a completely blank face. She blushes up to her roots and bends down to grab the pad from it hit the cracked floor.
“Um, uh, sorry... what can I get you?” Elide has never been more flustered, or terrified, in her life.
“Anything not made by the back alley rats,” The woman’s voice was low and soft, almost as if she were in a bedroom with her. “That might not be possible,” Elide says and regrets it immediately. The woman, the only exchange in her facial expression a raised eyebrow, look out the window as if wondering if she would drag Elide herself to the back alley she just mentioned.
“I was joking the turkey club is actually some strange fish from South America that I’m fairly certain is poisonous,” She’s joking now, wanting to not be murdered by someone so beautiful, but when the woman looks at her again she has a softer expression. Not a smile exactly, but Elide doesn’t think she’s going to be sliced into anymore.
“I’m sure just the air in her makes me feel as if I’m going to have to go to the hospital for lung cancer,” She looks back out the window when she says,”Give me what you’d risk your life eating here.”
Elide is sure she’d eat anything but the French fries, and the blonde female sitting in booth five didn’t seem like she ain’t those often. She goes to the order shelf and puts in a order for French fries, hoping the woman doesn’t want actual food. Of course, she came here there’s no way she wanted food. So what is the reason that someone with perfectly toned blonde air and what looked like a very expensive watch doing sitting in this place?
~~~~~~
The plate of very greasy fries comes out in a just a few minutes, and Elide didn’t realize that she should have prepared herself for having to interact with the blonde again. Elide has known for a while that women have been as much as an interest as men for her, but after dating one of her cousin’s boyfriend’s friends she hasn’t been interested in anyone. Until now apparently. She didn’t know what is was, well she knew she was undoubtedly hot, but the combination of grace and violence made her antsy, in a good way.
“Here you go,” Elide sets the plate down, hoping she doesn’t drop it as she dropped her note pad. She didn’t want to get yelled at by Cook either. The woman looked at the plate and smiled. Elide almost collapsed. “Thank you,” She says turning the smile toward her, “Join me? I can’t eat all of this by myself.”
Was she flirting?
“Oh, I shouldn’t, I have other tables,” Even she didn’t believe that, with just a glance around the blonde could see that she was only one of three people in the restaurant. “You know what, sure.”
“My name is Manon,” Manon says and smirks while biting into a fry.
Shit.
~~~~~~
Elide had never wanted to stay, or go, to her shitty place of work until Manon started to stay at the place until closing every time she came in, and now she wanted to go every time her shift came around again. Walking down the street, she was just leaving her internship at the capitol when she ran into someone with very hot coffee.
“Oh, shit, watch it,” Elide whispers and looks down at one of her very precious, very expensive blouses she wears only to her internship. Much like her cousin, Aelin, she had been interested in how their country works since she was little. Before everything had happened, when she, Aelin, and Aedion were still little, they would play kingdom. Aelin the Queen, Aedion the Warrior, and Little Elide the Lady. Throughout the years her and Aelin decided politics was the best career choice for them, so they both went and got degrees in Political Science.
“Well, you- Elide?” She looks up to see the one person she was thinking about. “Manon, hi.”
Hi?
Manon’s lips turn up at the corners, and Elide blushes like the love-sick puppy she is.
“Hi, I didn’t mean to bathe you in my coffee, but you weren’t looking either,” Manon says still looking at Elide in a way that makes her think she won’t be able to talk right. “Oh, yeah, I was just thinking about y- my internship.”
Dumbass.
“Where do you intern?” Manon asks, tilting her head. The last thing Elide needed right now was for Manon to look... like she does. Elide has been thinking about this woman non stop since she met her. Which she should stop. It’s making her life an inconvenience.
“The capitol. Me and my cousin are interning with senators,” she has never in her life felt stupid, and usually, people don’t think she is, but Manon was so much. Her shoes cost more than Elide’s entire closet. And she’s never seen her wear the same ones.
“You want to be a politician?”
“Maybe, but I would rather work press or something. My cousin is the more controlling one.”
“Well, next time I see you I’ll pay you for the dry cleaning,” Then she’s off, walking away before Elide can refuse the money.
~~~~~ It’s a few weeks later, and her and Manon had argued a few times over the money she kept trying to give her.
“I owe you,” She says, thrusting money towards her.
“No, you don’t. It was a mistake,” Elide says waving the money away.
She had even tried to put it as her tip. Manon was persistent. Elide couldn’t figure her out. She would come in a 2 A. M. completely dressed in brands Elide probably couldn’t even pronounce. The real question was why come to a shitty dinner when you could just Postmates lobster bisque to your house?
“I never asked. What do you do?” Elsie’s was sitting in a booth with Manon eating French fries when she asked. Manon stills for a second before taking a bite of the fry she was holding.
“I smuggle drugs for my grandmother. I also own a tattoo shop with my friends,” Manon says as if she didn’t just admit to a felony. Elide doesn’t know what to make of what she just learned. She could be joking, but Manon’s face always changes when she kidding, and her face didn’t move. That doesn’t mean anything she could be trying to trick her. So elide decides to go with it.
“You don’t strike me as a professional criminal,” Elide says keeping her face neutral.
“That’s what makes me so good at it,” Manon finally breaks as her face morphs into the smirk that makes Elide shiver. Elide wouldn’t have known what she would do if Manon really was a drug runner. She very well could be with her clothes, and demeanor, and money she clearly has.
Elide laughs, and they move on and talk about Elide’s internship. At one Elide get Manon to admit what her tattoo shop is called, and she makes a vow to stop by. Aelin has been wanting a tattoo and that could be a great excuse.
~~~~~
It wasn’t until a few weeks later that Elide finally grew the balls to go by Manon’s store. Aelin refused to go because apparently she didn’t want to get a tattoo by someone who showed up at Elide’s diner at 2 in the morning. Makes sense.
Elide walks in and sees no one in the waiting room or by the reception desk. She walks towards the curtain about to call out Manon’s name when she hears a a voice. Elide knows she should just turn around and leave, but she’s always been nosy.
“The clients want their supply. We can’t just ignore the problem we have.”
“If we just killed the Yellowlegs we wouldn’t have a problem.”
Elide can’t tell if they actually mean murder or is that’s just a hyperbole for dealing with them. But the thought is still there: what if Manon really did deal drugs?
The voice attached to the very person she’s thinking of pop in, “We can’t kill them. Not now, anyway. There’s to many eyes on all of us right now for an entire sixty people to go missing. Killing them is the last resort,” The voice doesn’t sound like the one she’s been talking to four nights a week. This one is cold, dangerous, and deadly. This one would deal drugs and kill people.
Oh, shit. Shit, shit, shit. Holy shit.
Manon wasn’t kidding when she said she smuggled drugs. She actually smuggles drugs.
Why has she been talking to me? Does she think I’m connected to these Yellowlegs people? Is she going to kill me soon for knowing?
Elide gasps and suddenly realized she needs to get the fuck out of there when the talking stops. She turns around and doesn’t bother being quiet when she slams the door open and sprints. She can’t run as fast as she wished she could with her ankle, but she damn well can get far enough away to get to civilization and disappear in a crowd. She hears the door to the shop hit the wall again and someone running after her. The footsteps close in fast, and she realizes just how much she underestimated the drug runners ability to run.
The person behind her grabs her arm and slams her hard in the building next her. She closes her eyes against the impact.
“Whoever you are, you better have an explanation for why you were in my shop,” Manon says right into her ear. Elide decides she’s probably going to die anyway and thinks to hell with being demure and says, “I came for a tattoo, but now that I’ve seen how you treat your costumers I’m going to give you zero stars on Yelp.”
Manon turns her around most likely recognizing your voice and just stares at her for awhile. Elide crosses her arms and waits not wanting to completely aggravate the murderous drug dealer.
“Well, it would be only fair for me to then report that diner for being shitty,” Manon says relaxing her body and smiles as if  pretending she wasn’t just talking about mass murder. Elide uncrosses her arms and looks sideways thinking about if it was worth it to try to run. Manon motives and says, “Don’t, Elide.”
Elide doesn’t know what to do except stay still. Manon doesn’t y’all for a while and just stares at her more. Elide starts to fidget. She doesn’t know what she even came. Manon has never really shown interest in her, maybe she just wanted to get away from the luxury.
“If you’re going to kill me can you do it fast?” Elide says and Manon looks genuinely shocked.
“I’m not going to kill you,” Manon says.
“Why not?” Elide should really stop.
“Because you... you already know what I do,” Manon looks down at her hands as if embarrassed.
“I thought you were joking! I didn’t actually think you dealt drugs, for God’s sake, Manon!” Elide lost it at that point. Throwing her hands, yelling, pointing.
“Well, I wasn’t,” Manon says looking at her with the same expression she had when she looked down at her hands. She looks kinda... scared. As if Elide was going to kill her.
“Oh, really? No shit!” She should stop yelling.
Manon flinches at her tone and that gets Elide calm down. Elide starts fidgeting again until she quietly asks, “Why?”
Manon answers knowing what she meant. “The first night I came in I just wanted quiet. This other... gang took our supply that day. Everyone had been arguing and I was down listening so I started walking till I found your diner. You came out with that plate of just French fries and figured you would be good company. Then I found out you were connected to the government so I backed off. I didn’t want you to worry about having to protect me while also keeping the career you’re working toward.”
Elide doesn’t really know what to do with that. Of course her career would make this complicated, but there should be nothing to complicate. But Manon said she backed off. Did that mean she really was flirting for a while?
“Okay,” Elide says.
“Okay?” The other woman said back, “I’m sorry I’ve made this so complicated.”
Elide snorts. Complicated is one way to put this. “So you like me? You’re interested?” Elide asks finally just wanting a full, blunt answer.
Manon smiles and says, “Yes, I was going to ask you out the night I ran into you, but with you working with in the government... well, again it complicates things.”
Elide nods. She never really believed this woman would ever be interested in her sexually, let alone romantically, but she is. And Elide is still interested even though she isn’t sure what that says about her character. Manon was talking about killing people, she deals drugs, but she is still disappointed that she was never asked on that date.
“So... if I said it wasn’t a complication for me would you still ask?” Elide looks up at her as Manon’s small smile turns into a grin.
“Well, that depends...” Manon steps closer.
Elide smiles now too, “On what?”
Manon gets into her personal space, and Elide now has to look up to see her eyes. “Would you say yes?” Manon is basically kissing her now.
“Yes,” Elide breathes and fills the small distance between their lips.
Elide knows that this is going to be hard, but she can’t bring herself to care. She never knew how much she likes complicated until this moment.

Hey, Zo! Your second character application for Kaya Pelt has been accepted!
OOC INFORMATION:
Name/Nickname: Zo
Age: 27
Preferred Pronouns: They/Them
Timezone: EST
Activity and Availability (Please answer in words as well as rating your availability from 1-10): I would say my activity will range from a 6 to 7 out of 10. I expect that I’ll be able to write replies on most weekdays, but I won’t typically be doing replies on the weekend when most role players seem to be active.
As for my availability, I would rate that more of a 4 to 5 out of 10. I will probably be around briefly during weekdays in the evening to post replies, with Thursdays and Fridays being the days I am online for the longest amount of time. I tend not to be online during the weekends, as I like to spend them with my significant other, but I will pop in and check the dash for sure.
Have you read the rules and FAQ? Yes. Fairecode
IC INFORMATION:
Desired Character: Kaya Pelt
Second Choice Character: Poesy Dew
What made you choose this character?: I initially had a really hard time choosing between Poesy and Kaya when looking over open bios. While both characters appealed to me, their bios are wildly different, and I couldn’t decide who I felt more connected to. At first it was Poesy, who I thought would be a drastic change from the sort of characters I tend to write. But at the last minute, I went back and reread Kaya’s bio, and realized how much inspiration I had for her.
There’s a wealth of opportunity to build upon Kaya’s background and history. I love the idea of exploring how her experiences have made her into the person she is now. From her transition to the Unseelie court in her early years to her time fighting during the rebellion, there’s so much to explore that I couldn’t with another character. And to top it off, there’s just so much for her to do in-game, given the current political climate and her closeness to the Unseelie queen.
I think playing Kaya will also give me an opportunity to interact with characters that Hawk wouldn’t necessarily have access to. The Unseelie court isn’t exactly a safe place for a human girl, so I’m excited to have the chance to write with characters that I haven’t before. Also, this gives me the opportunity to be more involved in courtly intrigue. (Hawk couldn’t be any further removed from the troubles of the Sidhe if she tried.)
Long story short, the opportunities with Kaya’s bio are endless and I hope that you all will consider me a good fit for her!
Are there any changes you would like to make?: None that I can think of!
Questions/Comments: I think what initially made me shy away from Kaya’s bio is how big a role she plays in the Wolf clan and the Unseelie court, especially in regards to Queen Titania. If I get accepted, I hope the admins would be willing to help me out in regards to giving a little more structure and insight into Kaya and Titania’s relationship, as well as the intricacies of the Unseelie court.
Writing Sample (Must be 300 words or more, third person limited, in the character you’re auditioning for’s point of view):
There was a moment – just a moment – where all she knew was anger. The rush of blood in her ears, the taste of copper in her mouth, the flash of red before her eyes – it was a sensation she hadn’t experienced since the war. Kaya hadn’t expected such anger to consume her, especially not towards some unknown enemy. But no one had dared to threaten the life of her friend within the walls of the castle before. And Kaya would make sure it never happened again.
The door behind her had shut only moments ago, and yet it felt as if hours had passed since she laid eyes on Titania and her son. But the anxiety of uncertainty, of threats lurking around every corner, was a feeling Kaya was not unaccustomed to. She’d become all too familiar with it in her time trapped amongst the Unseelie court.
When she had met Titania’s gaze that morning, she saw a blaze of cruel vengeance that had not been there in some time. Kaya had wondered in recent years if the Wolf within Titania had died, and she felt foolish to have considered it after their meeting. The Queen was clear on what she wanted – the capture and torture of the one who threatened the life of her son. And as the ambassador to the Wolf clan, and best friend of the Queen herself, Kaya desperately wanted the same.
But it would take time for justice to be served, and time was one thing that Titania seemed to have no interest in. She wanted results now. She would see the streets of Belladonna drenched in the blood of her enemies come nightfall. But there would be no satisfaction for either of them, not any time soon, and that knowledge brought Kaya’s anger to the surface.
How had she not seen this coming? With the murders of Lords and knights growing more and more frequent, it was only a matter of time before the unrest reached the royal family. She should have been on her guard. She should have better protected Titania and Oleander.
Perhaps it wasn’t just Titania that was losing her edge.
Taking a deep breath to calm herself, Kaya set forth to discover just who had perpetrated such a crime against the crown. Striding quickly down the steps of the castle, she didn’t dignify any of the servants with a single glance. Kaya’s mind was focused, several courses of action already playing out within her mind. But her feet slowed to a stop when she heard the clinking of armor and a derisive murmur cast in her direction.
Kaya turned on her heel, only to meet the gaze of some lumbering knight. The way he looked down his nose at her was all too familiar, but Kaya stopped herself from sneering in return.
“Apologies, Ser, I think I missed whatever it was you said,” Kaya spoke.
The knight replied with a roll of his eyes, “Wasn’t talking to you, my Lady,” he snickered. “Just muttering something to myself.”
“Ah, I see,” Kaya said with a nod. “And is that a common thing for you? Talking to yourself?”
The knight shrugged, a smirk sprawling across his lips. “Dunno. Maybe so. You’re the only one whose ever commented on it, my Lady.”
“Is that so?” Kaya queried. “Well, I’m certain the Queen would have a great many comments to make on that particular matter.” Her eyes narrowed, she watched as the knight visibly stiffened, a look of unspoken anger upon his face. “A knight meant to defend the crown, so preoccupied with having conversations with himself that he fails to pay heed to his duties? It’s no wonder the crown prince was almost slaughtered in his bed with knights like you left to guard him.”
The knights Titania surrounded herself were woefully inadequate, in Kaya’s opinion, but the Queen was more than aware of her feelings. it seemed this chatty knight had nothing left to say though, and Kaya was content to let her words take the place of her fists.
Pinning him with a final, spiteful look, Kaya carried off down the staircase once more. She heard no other mutterings as she walked past, but still she bristled at the eyes that followed after her. With so many years past amid the Unseelie, Kaya thought she’d have been immune to their pettiness. But today, when she was already feeling so irritable, she was hard pressed to ignore it. She was happy to leave the castle behind, though her work for the day was far from over.

I Just Finished Avatar: Legend Of Korra Season 3
... It was average.
I liked the villians since they weren’t just villians like the previous two and had a bit more humanity to them which made sense given their motives, but said motives are a little questionable considering nobody liked the Earth Queen, we had a different leader in the Earth Kingdom who WAS good, the president was very logical before but now acts like an asshole so that feels forced, nothing wrong is going in the Fire Kingdom and the only reason why there was trouble with the Water Tribes was because one of THEIR members was being an asshole.
Korra went from being an unlikeable douchebag of an idiot to being...your generic teenage hero with a side of stupid to me. And I really couldn’t care about her struggles because the previous two seasons spent so much time making her unlikeable I just felt nonplussed by her struggles. Even the mercury poisoning just ha me googling it to see what it was all about.
Asami was pretty good this season: Mostly an ally to Korra but it was alright.
I did like the moment with Mako and his grandmother when he gave her his scarf which made him seem a bitn more caring. Otherwise, it’s still just him being an okay straight man.
Bolin is still Best Character with now his talk with his grandma about Family, his caring about Kaya, the fact he can LAVABEND, his weakness about metal bending and his relationship with Opal.
The plot was okay but marred by the fact that we keep going back to the Air Temple to see their training which kills the pacing. The impact that the spirits had in the plot was minimal despite the fact that this is a major change in the world. I only really cared about the plots involving Zuko or Bolin or Tenzien since I liked them but not the ones involving everyone else because I wasn’t a fan of them.
The only world building here is the Red Lotus which is...okay but I believe that the WHite Lotus was about protecting the Avatar, not about Anarchy so that’ s confusing.
And then we have...the asspulls:
1. How did Zaheer know how to levivtate? I know the whole thing was building up to it but if you look at his mindset, he was very much tethered to the world with his anarchy mindset, not to mention he couldn’t have had the skill of an airbender with years and years more experience than him. Speaking of-
2. How the hell was he able to airbend so well? He had to have just gotten at the same time as everyone else so how did he get so good? Did he somehow train in the dark? Doesn’t explain how he is comparable to Tenzien, the guy who was trained by AANG.
3. How the hell was kora alive from THAT much mercury poisoning? Mercury in it’s metallic state is deadly to 1 gram per 5 kilograms of body weight. Considering Korra is around 61 kilograms(judging by her height and muscles) she should have been KILLED easily by that much mercury poisoning.
4. At the very least, she shouldn’t be able to bend due to her body and mind being thrown out of whack from the poisoning. Mercury poisoning causes damge to oth the brain and the muscles: What the hell?
5. Why did Korra power up in the Avatar state? The Avatr state is the combined knowledge and skills of all the avatars but Korra LOST her connection to them so it shouldn’t be able to do anything. Unless Rava is somehow powering her up in which case that’s a complete retcon from TLA as well as making the Avatar State just another lame Shounen power up.
6. Why did Harmonic convergence give people airbending powers? For that matter, why ONLY airbending? Should that have given people all sorts of bending powers?
Yeah, so this the end of my Korra watching since Season 3 was apparently the best of the series and I am nowhere near invested enough in the show to watch Season 4.
Overall, the series is...below average. Season 1 was at this level, Season 2 was god awful and Seaosn 3, although the best, was marred by the previous two seasons.
I honestly cannot say why Korra gets so much praise because, objectively, I just see a below average show that could have been good with WAY better writers and if it wasn’t the sequel to The Last Airbender.

Normal Teenage life Day 2
Summary: Gigi was just a teen trying to live her teenage life. Get on the cheer squad. Get good grades. Get a date to the Spring formal.
All the parts
Pairing: many
Notes: Still trying to figure out how I want this to go...
Also adding in more OC’s!
Tagging: @royslittleharper @guns-n-lilies @the-shadow-of-atlantis @coffee-randomness @daisyboobear @werewitchling  @nightwing-rules @jayne-writes
"I am not your plaything. We are not your toys"
The words echoed in Gigi’s mind as she opened her eyes. A bright light shining on her face as a man looked down at her. A surgical mask across his face as he studied Gigi. The red haired girl struggled to move but quickly realized she was strapped to a table. Monitors around her whirred and beeped as several doctors and nurses walked around her.
“We are not toys.”
The voice wasn’t her’s it was a boy, a boy with broken wings.
She didn’t know how she knew that but she did.
“Get ready for the procedure,” the doctor said leaning forward. One of the computers by him starting to beep.
The sound of someone screaming in the back of her mind started, an explosion of bright lights and debris…
And Gigi woke up to the sound of her own voice screaming.
"Gigi?" Antoinette asked standing in her doorway rubbing her eyes, "are you ok?"
The twin shook her head looking around her room, taking in the pale pink walls and boy band posters. Everything was back to normal, everything was the way it should be.
Giving a yawn Antoinette crawled up into bed next to Gigi, “another bad dream?”
“Yeah,” she mumbled pulling the covers over herself as the voice echoed in her mind “We are not toys”
“I don’t see why I have to do this” Bart “I am always the victim” Allan whined as he rested his forehead on the counter of the coffee bar. Maia couldn’t help but laughed as she watched him slump across the counter. The scruffy hair boy hadn't stopped complaining since they had come in a 5am to relive the night crew. Because of all the recent free coffees he had caused the small shop the owner had threatened to ban him unless he worked off the chaos he had caused.
Thus he was stuck with Maia, who was the only one anyone trusted him with, before class. The brunette had put him on cleaning duty since she didn’t trust him with much else. The kid was a quick worker even if he did complain and was soon just leaning against the coffee bar lamenting his predicament.
“Look you have caused enough chaos in here to work off a million hours. You’re lucky this was all my boss said.”
“But this is so boring” he groaned from under his shaggy mane his forehead still panted on the counter.
Maia was about to respond when the loud sound of a motorcycle engine rived outside. “Oh joy” she sighed rolling her eyes as the bright red bike rolled up. The rider of the bike parked jumping off carelessly tossing his helmet on the seat before sauntering up to the caffe hands in his letterman jacket. Maia watched him with a scowl on her face. This was the infamous Roy Harper, the bane of her existence.
“Well a beautiful morning to you too frosty,” Roy Harper said in response to the frown that greeted him as he walked in. Running his fingers through his hair he leaned against the coffee bar. “I’ll take a smile please.”
“Good Morning!” the bell jingled as Gigi and her twin walked into the caffee. Roy turned to smile at the small cheerleader who waved at him before skipping up to the register where Bart had popped up at the sound of Gigi’s voice. He was now standing mouth open clutching his mop as if it was holding him up. Maia glanced over at the boy whose face was slowly turning the same shade as his red hair as Gigi talked to him. Next to her, Anntonette had a similar smile to the barista as she watched Bart fumble over his words as her twin ordered her drink. Maia sighed, she better go save him before the poor guy tried to make a coffee and burn the place down.
Turning back to Roy she felt her mouth move back to a frown again, “So are you ordering something or just wasting my time?”
“Hummm,” Roy said looking over the menu “Do you have a frappe with some of that ice exterior of yours?”
Maia sighed rolling her eyes standing up going toward the three younger teens, “When you decide let Bart know and I’ll make it.”
Roy was about to say something when the bell on the door gave a little ring several students walking in. Three cheerleaders, Kaya, a pretty dark skinned girl who was known for her cat like reflexes on the squad, Kori, a tall redhead who was a total bombshell who use to date Roy, and Amber, the queen bee herself. Amber was a pretty blonde who always looked perfect. A hair never out of place. Her pretty green eyes scanned the cafe before running up to Gigi who was talking to a flustered Bart.
“There’s my newest star! I’m so excited about our practice today I have so many ideas.” she gushed tossing her blonde hair over her shoulder her back to Bart who was trying to look over the girl to catch Gigi’s eyes. “Oh, I’ll just have a black coffee,” Amber said. Bart just stared at her for a moment until Amber turned to him again waving her hand “Oookk shoo”
Kaldur and a few of the other football players filed in all laughing and goofing off. At the sight of Kaldur Kaya’s face light up.
“Oh good morning Kaldur!” she said waving before grabbing her drink and walking up to him. “How was your weekend?”
“Excuse me,” Annabella said pushing through the crowd as she tried to make her way into the now crowded shop. Behind her Tim darted in as if his life depended on it followed by Lucy, “Do you guys mind?” she added shooting Kaldur and Kaya.
“Good morning Annabella,” Kaldur said and Kaya turned flashing the girl a quick smile as she pulled Kaldur away from the door.
“Let’s get out of their way before they hack our brains or something.”
Annabella just shot the cheerleader and quarterback a half wave as Lucy laughed unsure what “hack our brains” even meant. Better not question it.
The morning rush continued as it always did. Jocks first, allready hiped for the day, loud and full of energy. Everything was worth cheering about and life was so exciting.
Then shuffled in the nerds. All ready for class while moaning about their late nights studying. With them came as many puns and jokes about coffee that could ever be made.
Then, just when Maia was about to close up came the rich kids came strutting in. All dressed to the nines on their phones taking morning selfies with their drinks.
In the lead of this pack was the IT couple, Dick and Layla. Dick was not only the hottest guy in school but also the nicest. He was part of the local Dance studio with Faith and Lily while also class president.
Layla was super sportive of her boyfriend in everything he wanted to do. From behind his treasure and campaign manager during his election to going to every show just to brag on social media about how great he was. No one knows what her dad does but she is always dressed in the latest trends that match her vibrant blue hair.
After the rush was over Maia turned to Bart who was still looking a little dreamy. Suddenly he turned to Maia.
“Wait, does Gigi come here every morning?”
“Yeah, and normally before practice too.”
“This is the best job EVER,” he said grabbing his skateboard before dashing off to class.

Requests (5/15/17)
I haven’t been answering requests for a while because I’ve been busy with school and other stuff, but things have quieted down so here are the requests I’ve been getting (and they’re A LOT). So if you sent me a request in the past week or two and you haven’t seen me to respond to it odds are it’s listed below. Thanks for being patient! <3
Anonymous said:
Can you do one with Jessica Chastain, where a high school guy gets turned into his biggest enemies mother, and has to be a motherly figure to him or stay her forever? And he also soon figures out he has a new big dicked husband to please too?
Sure thing!

I know I still have a request coming, but I'd like to make another request if I can. I quite enjoyed your Miley Cyrus cap the other day and would like to request one with her. Basically, a guy named Britt wants to be a singer, but is made over by his friend Melanie into a female pop star, Kitty St. Clare. She also uses some hypnosis to make sure Kitty is extra provocative both on and off stage using overt sexuality. Thanks!
I’m glad you liked the other Miley one I posted. I can 100% do this for you, Kitty. ;)
Anonymous said:

The Third Crown
Mannylee Ann Pangandian Magno,20,  Melo Javilla!
People always ask me  how i felt when i was crowned as Binibining Cabanatuan 2nd runner-up, with an awkward smile, i would say "okay lang" but deep inside i want to share to them my story and the lessons. The crowning moment is definitely not special for me with all honesty. I know that the crowning moment is the fruit of all the hard work but also the mark of the end of the bonding moments and experiences of joining a beauty pageant.
Behind the Big Hairs, Glamorous make-up, cat walks and bonggang to the highest level performance on stage. *take note the spiral* I am just a simple woman who just want to achieve a dream. So let me share my story and experience of joining the Banatu Festival Binibining Cabanatuan 2017
I am not a first timer, In fact it is the third time to join pageants but it is my first time outside Weleyan (my school). One year akong napahinga sa pageants so kinakabahan talaga ko. *sights*
The  screening
It was a sunday afternoon. I am scared and tired. Tired because I just came from a seminar at St. paul Quezon City about Mental Stigma in Psychology. I am scared because i am not used to screenings like this, yung tipong madaming tao unlike sa school na close door ang screening. Ginanap ang screening sa Sm Mega Center, Habang naglalakad ako wearing my spandex black and gold bandage dress with my Handler/MUA Nay Mat, ang daming pumapasok sa isip ko. I know that I am not the standard Beauty Queen material. Medyo malaki ako compared to the others, nung pumasok ako sa back stage nadagdagan yung kaba ko so I quietly sat on the chair they gave me. Tahimik lang ako as I look all the aspiring candidates. Magaganda sila and it seems na yung iba sa kanila ay magkaka kilala na. I was very shy, I can't approach them. Eto talaga yung sakit ko pag first meeting mahihiya ang halamang makahiya sa sobrang mahiyain ko. at times sinsasabi ng iba na ang hirap ko daw i-approach dahil nga I am a victim of the RBF (Resting Bitch Face).
The judges asked my nerve wracking questions like "Can you asses the mental state of the president of the philippines:" (Nakakaloka) fortunately I answered all the answers with all the wittiness i can give. Most of the questions are serious and about my course, Psychology.
So let's Fast forward, As I've been accepted to be one of the Candidates of Bb. Cabanatuan, I discipline myself on my diet. Nag jogging ako, Nag download ng kung ano anong diet programs, pati military diet tinry ko.  I go to the Gym and work out. I am really motivated to push my self para mapanindigan ko ang mga gusto kong gawin sa buhay. I am truly happy cause this is the first pageant na nanood ang Dad ko, Though not all the time nanonood sya, pero I know sinusuportahan niya ko. Sinamahan ako ng family ko during the screening so that is more than enough for me.
Binibining Cabanatuan is quite an experience. I have learned a lot of lessons like...
"You cannot please everyone"
This is true. During the pageant I gain more confidence dahil naging toned ang body ko. I am proud about it cause it is the result of all my sacrifices. My body is one of my insecurities, I don't have that super petite sexy legs and slim well toned arms. But with hard work, I know that I can confidently walk on stage with a two piece swimsuit and not disappoint my friends and Family for supporting me. As I was saying, with the lesson "You cannot please everyone" is this story. It is not new that when you join pageants it is expected that there will always be people that will try to bring you down. People that will say that you are not good enough blah blah blah. with the exact words "Ang taba nya, Kaya nya kaya mag swimsuit?" that particular statement became one of my motivation. There has been a lot of body shaming issues, but I never let a single word get into my system negatively. I always (as much as possible) turn the negative comments in a positive way that it somehow will be beneficial in my part. So to that person, Thank-you po :) The winning comment/Papuri is the "Di naman ganon kaganda yon, Matalino lang". I don't know how am I going to react with this, I know that we all have different standards in Beauty as we have in different countries, but we should respect the beauty of different races. But still, Thank-you Ma'am, I'd rather be called "not that pretty but smart" than "pretty but stupid".  I know that we are all different, and I truly respect our differences and I completely understand that people have different hearts and minds as we all think and raised differently. But please, STOP Body Shaming and before you give harsh comments about other people, please look yourself in the mirror and realize this, No body is perfect and you cannot please everyone.
"Pretty Hurts" -B.K
It takes a lot of fall and nausea before you can perfect a good spiral. As it is my first pageant outside the University I know that Ibang level na ang labanan. The other competitors has different titles. Others are know for being a good walker, a title in a modelling competition,  some are known for being good in public speaking and question and answer portion, others stand out because of their height and some are know for being always the title holder. Yes with all the information about the other competitors in my head, I know for a fact that I need to put on so much effort in practicing the way I walk,  the way I talk, he way I pose and smile. Everything. It takes a lot of practice, specially the different kinds of walk. The small detail really matters, one small mistake may lead to an accident specially if you are wearing a 7 inches pageant heels. Its never easy, that is why I have high respect for those people who fall on stage and stand up again. It takes a lot of courage and confidence to stand up after falling. Before the Pre-pageant of the swimsuit competition, At Harvest Hotel Cabanatuan.  I practice my walk and the spiral. I really want to learn about it so I called my two friends (Kenneth and Boki) who are used in doing the spiral on pageants. It is hard at first, Honestly I never tough that I can do it. but I practice until I have blisters on my feet. I took the risk. I did it. I conquered my fear.  It hurts, but I am Happy that I have that special kind of fulfillment after doing it. Worth it.
"A Beauty Queen is not present at Birth, It is Made" -E.F
People always say that "always be natural on stage" but I am telling you it is hard. On stage, you have to wear your big smile, make your chinita eyes pop by opening it a little bit more. You need to make sure that you always have a good posture even tough you have back pain because of scoliosis. It is hard to look natural if you are not in your natural self. In real life, you don't always wear your big smile. It is not like that. But you have do it, if you really want it.As you practice and practice then you will develop those qualities. Eventually.
"If it's not for you, It's not for you"-MM
Hypocrisy aside, Every candidate was aiming to be the title holder. I know that we all have our fair share of the sacrifices, spending money , giving  time and investing effort. In joining pageants, you have to prepare and to always give you best. Trust your feet, be confident, and always have presence of mind. But in every pageant there can only be one title holder "One lucky girl" Is it my fate? I am not a firm believer of luck, If I want something I will work hard for it, i will sweat a lot to earn it, I will give more time to read and give emphasis on the things I want to give emphasis. But no matter how you work hard for something, there will be moments in life that you cannot have what you want. To me, It is the title. Maybe It is not for me and It is meant for somebody else, Not because I don't have what it takes, actually many girls have what it takes. We all have different unique qualities. it's just that, it's not the time yet. Even If I don't believe in "Luck" I do believe in my "Strong Faith"  I know God has a better plan for me and for all of us. It is quite an experience that I will never forget for the rest of my life.
After all, the Real battle is not on the stage, but off stage as we face life challenges

Am I enough?
So hello again tumblr! It’s funny to say this but I just tend to open this every time I have a severe problem in my life. Maybe it is a sort of depression or an anxiety attack. Well “Am I enough” is the title because I keep on asking myself that question over and over again. Because if I’m enough, definitely my girl won’t leave me anymore cos I’m enough. If I’m enough, my dad won’t always brag and comparing his degree and high grades during his days to mine and emphasizing that I’m a worthless son to him. I feel sad because why on earth I need to experience all of these shit in my life. At the very start I already know that my parents won’t give a 100% importance to me because they didn’t let me study in UST which it is my one of my dream universities in my life. Instead they let me study here in DLSU-D which a school that I hated the most. “Anak mahal kasi tuition, wala na kaming pera, etc.” Usapang tuition ba kamo? Well UST marketing management course is way cheaper than DLSU-D. Second, malayo? well my cousin has a condo in espana where I can stay and rent for a cheap price. Ano pa? Simple arguments palang to talo na kayo, what more sa iba pa. All I want in this world is to be loved and to be accepted of who I am and what I am that’s all man. But the fucking problem is, my request is so simple but it’s sooo hard for others to do it. Even asking something sa parents ko nahihiya nako because I always think that I am not enough for them. Even asking for a brand new laptop for my studies cos the old one sucks di ko magawa cos isa lang ang maririnig ko from them. “Anak ano ba yan gastos nanaman!” And that breaks my heart and cry inside the restroom para di nila malaman that I’m crying. I always pretend to be strong and happy to cover up my real and ugly self. I always ask myself “Am I enough?” Tomorrow is another social construct day that is so called “Valentines” but even though it is a social construct, I want also to celebrate valentines with someone who I do really loved the most. But sadly, that girl that I loved the most left me already 3 months ago already. Man it’s been 3 months already, but my heart and all the pain is still in here. It’s hard to let go especially to the person who you are 200% sure with, to the person that my whole clan was already attached with, to the person who knows all my vison and goals in my life and she is part of it, and to the person who accepted me fully of who I am and what I am. Actually to be honest, our 4 months relationship with my ex was my best moments in my life. Because finally I already answered my question “Am I enough?” Because finally someone says that “Yes D, You are enough” I felt so good and my happiness overflows outside my system. But suddenly all of these happiness gradually fades away. I always ask myself. If she said that I’m enough, why did she leave me? Yes I admit, I commit a lot of mistakes to her, I’m not a perfect boyfriend that every girls is expecting with, I didn’t treat her better and taken her for granted. But I do believe, everyone deserves another chance to change and to prove their worth to someone. And for the first time in my life, I finally do things that I never did in my entire life for her because it is all for love. But why after all the efforts I’m still not enough for her that she didn’t give me another chance and she decided to leave me for good. Dude ang sakit pare kung alam mo lang tangina! Hanggang ngayon andito padin tong sakit sa puso na iniwan mo sakin. I cried and ask God “when will I be enough? Especially to someone?” Yes I’m always thankful for what I have right now. But I all ask for one thing, acceptance, love and making me feel that I am enough. fia, girls like you is so rare that makes me feel so extremely depressed because I lose you. I wont act like this if you’re not rare. Because for the first time all character of a girl that I want ay nahanap ko lahat sayo na akala ko imposible nang mahanap sa sobrang dami kong gusto. And losing you makes myself guilty and i keep on blaming myself why I did this, and I did that na kahit yung friendship natin na put into risk na and from lovers to bestfriends and now it turned into strangers that having a conversation is barely to happen. I don’t know how to move on or how this pain will finally go away. But I ask one thing, and it’s for you to come back again. I don’t know when this will end. But if this pain will finally ends sana maging masaya ka sa kung anong meron ka ngayon, cos I’ll be happy as well. And sana someday if we’re not meant to be talaga, sana may ma meet ako na someone na rare din like you and if nameet ko sya and naging kami, I’m definitely sure na di ko na yun papakawalan and I will treat her the way a queen must be treated. And I will make sure na itatama ko na lahat ng mali ko and all of my mistakes in the past will never ever happened again. Hope someday someone will say “D/Derek/Derek Matthew, YOU ARE ENOUGH.”
