alright it’s not wednesday and this is not a wip as it is a finished and completed dice bag

HOWEVER

this IS my first foray into using double-pointed needles!

and i have to say? 8/10 pretty solid experience! it was definitely a lot less fiddly than magic loop would have been for fingering weight yarn, and overall it wasn’t really that awkward to keep track of the needles (aside from a couple moments of just straight up dropping my loose to-be-knit-on needle near the beginning just because i wasn’t used to it yet).

of the two dings against the method, one is very fixable: i was using 4″ dpns, which turned out to be just short enough that unless i finagled it a specific way i ended up stabbing my hand as i was working. i already have ordered sets of 5″ and 6″ dpns which should fix that.

the second is that it did get pretty fiddly and awkward in the last few decrease rounds, just from having to maneuver around needles to get at those last remaining stitches. but on the OTHER hand, using dpns 100% solves the gappy tension issues that happened when i was doing similar decrease rounds to finish the hats i made for my sister’s family; i had to do MUCH less manual cinching together with my cast-off tail for this than i did any of those hats. so personally, i’d rather take the fiddly awkward dpn method for center-cinched things like this than magic loop.

the pattern itself was pretty simple, and boy oh boy is she spacious, much more so than i envisioned. there are eight sets of (bog-standard chessex) dice in there, with enough headroom to easily fit another set in.

... with that being said, i’m going to cast this pattern on again but with the colours reversed, and see which i like better which the intended birthday gift recipient likes better.

It has been exactly four months after first publicly sharing my idea of this insane project of making a 13-piece sticker set as a tribute to the man that won my heart at this year's eurovision. Four months and many hours sketching, rendering, deleting and re-rendering art to get to this point.

What a journey this has been: starting more or less after eurovision I can honestly say I have grown through this process and I might have been frustrated at times but all in all I've enjoyed the journey especially since it has involved all you wonderful kääryleet. Your comments and happy tags has get me through even the toughest of days and kept me motivated to finish this project.

From the bottom of my heart thank you for staying with me through it all :'D I probably won't stop making käärijä fanart so this is not a goodbye. It is more of a proof to myself that with the right support and drive, you can even finish the most insane of projects
