It is said that a stampede broke out at around 2 am before the Amrit bath on the Sangam banks of Prayagraj. It is being told that some people have died in this. According to an eyewitness, people started running as soon as the stampede happened. No official information has been released by the administration yet.

Bathing in Akharas stopped due to crowd Due to crowd on Mauni Amavasya, Shiv Akharas have stopped Amrit Bathing. Sadhus and Naga Sadhus of Mahanirvani and Niranjani Akharas did not come out to take bath. Thousands of Naga monks are present in the cantonment itself. Akhara Parishad President Mahant Ravinder Puri says that bathing has been stopped due to huge crowd. Akharas will come out to take bath only when the situation improves. Otherwise, the bath will be canceled.
