He's Just Too Busy
Never was a poet tbh but right now my brain hurts
From the longing stares to the long letters I write most nights... I don't care that my sleep is now in nonexistence.
I ought to care that my interpersonal relationships are breaking down around me in the real world... But I don't.
That my mind is in tatters and all I can natter about is the man behind the mask I perceive as true love.
I don't care that I sleep through the day and shine brightly when it's dim, because it's all for a good cause, I tell myself.
It'll pay off in the future, because it's for him.
Except... One teeny tiny detail.
Not that of his fame or fawning hoardes of women,
The fact he doesn't know I exist or maybe I'm just another 'fan'.
If it's not me... it's that he's just busy.
That's okay, I think. I would learn to cope.
We would talk over text about things that are normal.
Sport, weather, work, family, hobbies, random shit... I've no desire to discuss with him work if he doesn't want to - because I don't want a working relationship.
I want to be the person who he comes to in order to decompress. That person he feels so comfortable with in person, spending time with me isn't such a stress.
Oh, how I want him to love me... How I yearn to be loved by someone, I mean... But that's all muddled up in the crossed wires between.
How I long to be held in his arms, and fall for his infectious silliness.
That's just one of his charms, I suppose. From the clown-like, asymmetric grin to the dorky air about him, the way I've taken to feeling is so unfair and so fucking grim.
Because if it's not me, you see... It's because he's busy.
It's not like a stand a chance anyway, though I do often wonder if he would feel the same.
Would our lives intertwine, or would they fall apart, lame?
I know he isn't playing me, but he's playing my heart.
He's playing himself, also. Shouldn't he be indifferent and he fall so...
Deeply?
With the latter, I say: He's just busy. I tell myself he's just busy. Don't be so gruff.
I'm not good enough. The lonely thoughts hit.
Would he be into me?
From the spontaneous visits across the other side of the world with but a moment left behind, to the complete lack of respect for the NDA he signed - would that man care as long as it's something else we get to talk about?
Or does it cease to be like that? More mature and serious? I like that thought.
Cute thoughts and heartfelt apologies when our plans have fallen through, once again, of course.
"It's alright," I say, but he would insist.
"You deserve so much better than what I can give to you, dearest."
He's just busy. He's just busy. My head's just busy.
When he's gone for months at a time and I'm at the Universe's mercy, it might be another woman's face that I see... But I'd never tell him such insecurities. I would never misuse his fragile heart.
Not for clout and never for art.
Because he's busy, remember? It's not that he doesn't care.
Even when I'm left in the dust with nothing but cobwebs to bear. Always in someone else's shadow... I'm beginning to think I belong here.
Loveless and lonely - Perhaps my sense of fulfillment isn't supposed to come from a man... Even if he's the one I see in my plan - for the future. I picture us together... Would he picture me? Would he picture us?
No. He wouldn't, because he's busy. He's just so busy.
For him I would put aside my insecurities. I would kiss him back like nobody else was there.
I thought perhaps, in the pockets of time spent with one another,
This meant he would be patient and treat me with care.
But he's too busy.
Doesn't he want to make the effort?
Am I unworthy of his love?
No. He's just busy. Just busy, he says. That's all he says. That's his only excuse.
I'm cynical, now. It's not like he's given up on love, like me. If this goes on, one day, he'll find somebody else and be their 'just busy'.
She will have some other convincing factor, of course. That's what always happens, since I'm never good enough.
I could be the most perfect woman, the best wife.
But, I know deep down that I still wouldn't catch your eye.
Instead, I'll just tell myself that you'd never care for love or for me. It seems less wicked,
than chasing a dream fenced in pure white picket.
Because you're too busy. You're too busy for me and my thoughts. My desires. My love... I have so much love I could give you, you know.
But, hey ho...
Maybe one day, it'll be me who's just too busy.
And strangely, that would be the best comeuppance ever.

AN OPEN LETTER to THE PRESIDENT & U.S. CONGRESS; STATE GOVERNORS & LEGISLATURES
Say NO to Loony-Bins: Immediate Action Required for Inpatient Psychiatric Care
2 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!
The current model of inpatient psychiatric care, which primarily focuses on safety and crisis stabilization, falls short in promoting sustained recovery. The prevalent emphasis on ultrashort lengths of stay often overlooks the need for comprehensive treatment plans.
A proposed model of care advocates for rapid diagnosis, goal-setting, and treatment modalities before initiating treatment, organized into three distinct phases: assessment, implementation, and resolution. This approach emphasizes individualized treatment and active patient involvement in treatment planning, addressing critical psychosocial aspects that are frequently neglected.
As we strive to reform the mental health care system, it's imperative to prioritize effective, recovery-oriented treatment strategies. This includes ensuring patient comfort and preferences are accommodated within reason. Considering patient preferences, like comfort items (such as safe stuffed animals; Share-Bears, if you will) and rescue medications (like melatonin,) is essential to upholding rigorous standards of care and safety.
Let's advocate for reforms that enhance patient-centered practices while adhering to established treatment guidelines and advancing recovery-oriented care.
Say no to “loony-bins;” those archaic relics that should be relegated to the distant past.

Do you ever read your own diary entries from the past and get your heart broken?
Two months ago I was in a lot of distress because I was having a very rapid C-PTSD relapse. I wrote that at least this time around, I am surrounded by my wonderful friends and have the best bestfriend in the world. I felt so grateful because during my last relapse, I lost almost every single friendship and relationship I had. The isolation and sense of betrayal and lack of hope for any future relationships, almost killed me.
I haven't spoken to those friends, not even my bestfriend, in 6 weeks. Some of the last things they said to me was that I changed too much and it was too hard for everyone to watch me go through this and they didn't know how to help. They said maybe it would be easier if I had a car...
Now I'm seeing professionals 4-5 days a week because that was the best alternative to being admitted to hospital. I don't know how to talk to people or relate to them anymore, I don't know how to open up because I trusted those friends so deeply for so many years and this is where it got me.
It shouldn't be so easy to lose an entire community of friends, and I'm not going to let it happen again. I can see the signs and I can see where my actions and decisions lead me. I'm making changes.

Moving from Words to Action.
In June 2023, the United Nations General Assembly adopted by consensus a pivotal Resolution on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (A/77/300). This was the first time that the UN General Assembly recognized that mental health should be addressed as a stand-alone issue. This session will explain how the Resolution can move beyond words on paper to measurable targets and interventions.
Speakers will contextualize the Resolution within other efforts to advance global mental health within the UN system, addressing national needs, priorities, and concrete action plans for implementation to improve mental health and advance the Sustainable Development Agenda.
The session will convene UN and civil society stakeholders to ensure an inclusive and whole-of-society. Member State staff and others in the UN community, including from WHO, UNICEF, and the Permanent Missions of Mexico, Belgium, Romania, and Kuwait will exchange experiences and implementation strategies, complemented by varied civil society perspectives including national psychological societies from around the globe.
Event organized by the Permanent Mission of Mexico and the American Psychological Association (APA)

Choosing Between Psychosocial Recovery Coaching and Traditional Therapy in Adelaide
If you're navigating mental health support in Adelaide, you may wonder about the difference between psychosocial recovery coaching and traditional therapy. Here's a quick breakdown:
Psychosocial Recovery Coaching focuses on helping individuals with mental health challenges regain independence and manage day-to-day tasks. Recovery coaches work closely with clients to set practical goals and develop skills for daily living.
Traditional Therapy, on the other hand, is more focused on emotional and psychological healing. Therapists dive into deeper issues like trauma, anxiety, and depression, offering long-term support for mental health through techniques like CBT or talk therapy.
Which is Right for You? If you're looking for guidance on achieving personal goals and rebuilding life skills, recovery coaching may be a better fit. For more in-depth emotional support, traditional therapy might suit you. Many people in Adelaide combine both for a holistic approach to their well-being.

The Impact of Stigma on People with Psychosocial Disabilities and How to Combat It
Stigma surrounding psychosocial disabilities remains a significant barrier to achieving equality and improving the quality of life for many individuals. At Concept Care, we are committed to raising awareness and fostering a more inclusive society. In this blog, we will explore the impact of stigma on people with psychosocial disabilities and discuss strategies to combat it.
Understanding Psychosocial Disabilities
Psychosocial disabilities encompass a range of mental health conditions that can affect an individual's ability to participate fully in daily activities and society. These conditions include, but are not limited to, depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and PTSD. Despite the prevalence of these conditions, misunderstanding and negative attitudes persist.
The Impact of Stigma
Stigma can manifest in several ways, all of which can profoundly affect individuals with psychosocial disabilities:
Social Isolation: Fear of being judged or misunderstood often leads individuals to withdraw from social interactions, resulting in loneliness and isolation.
Discrimination: Stigma can lead to discrimination in various settings, including the workplace, educational institutions, and healthcare, limiting opportunities and access to essential services.
Reduced Self-Esteem: Internalized stigma can diminish an individual's self-esteem and self-worth, exacerbating their condition and hindering recovery.
Reluctance to Seek Help: Stigmatizing attitudes can discourage individuals from seeking the help and support they need, prolonging suffering and delaying recovery.
Combating Stigma: Strategies for Change
Addressing and reducing stigma requires a multifaceted approach involving individuals, communities, and broader societal change. Here are some strategies to combat stigma:
Education and Awareness:
Promote Understanding: Education is crucial in dispelling myths and misconceptions about psychosocial disabilities. By providing accurate information, we can challenge stereotypes and foster empathy.
Share Personal Stories: Personal narratives from individuals with lived experiences can humanize psychosocial disabilities and highlight the importance of support and acceptance.
Advocacy and Empowerment:
Advocate for Rights: Supporting policies and legislation that protect the rights of individuals with psychosocial disabilities is essential. Advocacy efforts can help ensure equal access to services and opportunities.
Empower Individuals: Encouraging self-advocacy and providing platforms for individuals to share their experiences can empower those with psychosocial disabilities and promote a sense of agency.
Supportive Environments:
Create Inclusive Spaces: Whether in the workplace, schools, or community centers, fostering inclusive environments where individuals feel safe and supported is vital.
Offer Peer Support: Peer support groups provide a sense of community and understanding, allowing individuals to connect with others who share similar experiences.
Media Representation:
Responsible Reporting: Media plays a significant role in shaping public perceptions. Encouraging responsible and respectful reporting on mental health issues can help change societal attitudes.
Positive Portrayals: Highlighting positive stories and successes of individuals with psychosocial disabilities can challenge negative stereotypes and showcase their strengths and contributions.
Concept Care's Commitment
At Concept Care, we are dedicated to supporting individuals with psychosocial disabilities through compassionate care and advocacy. We believe in the power of education, support, and community in combating stigma and fostering a more inclusive society. By working together, we can create a world where everyone, regardless of their mental health condition, can live a life of dignity, respect, and opportunity.
Conclusion
Stigma surrounding psychosocial disabilities is a pervasive issue that requires concerted efforts to address. By promoting understanding, advocating for rights, creating supportive environments, and encouraging positive media representation, we can combat stigma and support individuals in leading fulfilling lives. Concept Care is committed to being a part of this change, championing the rights and well-being of those with psychosocial disabilities.

It's hard to get better.
For a while, you think it's their fault for making you feel this way. You are angry, sad, confused. You're bitter at those who wounded you but as soon as you realize that you are the problem you begin to think that everything else that was bad was because of you. The longer this goes on the more you start to believe that all of it is your fault, some of it is, but you'll take the blame for everything. Distancing yourself from others, believing that it's better this way, not for yourself, for them. It's exhausting to be the source of all the hurt, and to live with the unhappiness that you bring upon yourself, you just hope you don't bring it upon any one else. You want to get better. You don't know how. You are trapped. You built the cage but everything else was what pushed you to go in. Why did you build it? You walked inside but what made you believe that you were so deserving to be locked up? And who gave you the right to issue your own punishment?
