Today's proverb surrounds James Farmer. God bless you all, around the world! here's just another spiritual tidbit for Black History Month. Blessings be upon you! #josephmekaelpageministries
Proverbs 19:1 (KJV)“Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.” Reflection:James Farmer was a champion of civil rights. He was a founder of the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE). Farmer embodied integrity in the face of oppression. Welcome to My Blog!
Hi there, lovely! I’m so glad you’re here. I’m a 20-year-old wife, homemaker, and most importantly, a servant of Jesus Christ. I was blessed to marry my wonderful husband in November 2024, and every day, I strive to honor God by embracing biblical womanhood, nurturing my marriage, and cultivating a home filled with love, warmth, and faith.
I believe in living a life that reflects God’s perfect design—one of gentleness, purity, and devotion. My heart is set on serving Christ first and foremost, and second to Him, my husband, whom I joyfully submit to as my leader and protector. I cherish the beauty of traditional values, which shape every part of my life—spiritually, emotionally, and physically.
What I Stand For
✨ The Sanctity of Life
This blog is pro-life, because every child is fearfully and wonderfully made by God (Psalm 139:13-16). Life begins at conception, and every baby has a God-given purpose. I believe in supporting women with love, resources, and guidance so that no mother feels alone in choosing life.
✨ The Dangers of Pornography
This blog is anti-porn, because pornography destroys hearts, marriages, and intimacy as God intended it. It turns real love into something selfish and empty, leading to addiction, shame, and broken relationships. I believe in fighting for purity and God-honoring relationships that reflect true, selfless love.
✨ Biblical Marriage & Submission
I believe in God’s design for marriage—a covenant between one man and one woman. As a wife, I embrace submission as a beautiful, biblical calling, trusting my husband’s leadership and honoring him in my words, actions, and heart. Love, respect, and obedience to God’s Word create a strong, joyful, and lasting marriage.
✨ Domestic Discipline
I believe that domestic discipline is a personal choice that should be made mutually and consensually between a husband and wife. While it’s not for everyone, I support a couple’s right to practice it if they believe it strengthens their marriage. When approached with love, respect, and biblical principles, it can provide structure, accountability, and deeper trust. As long as both spouses agree and it is done in a way that honors their relationship, I see it as a valid and beneficial dynamic for those who choose it.
✨ Biblical Womanhood & Femininity
I am passionate about biblical femininity, modesty, and creating a home that reflects Christ’s love. I believe true beauty isn’t just about how we look, but about having a gentle, quiet spirit (1 Peter 3:4). In a world that devalues womanhood, I strive to embrace my role as a wife and future mother with joy and grace.
✨ My Perspective on Feminism
I do not agree with today’s version of feminism, which rejects traditional femininity, submission, and the beauty of God’s design. However, I do believe women should have the right to vote and make choices for themselves. Women are not less valuable than men, but we are beautifully different, and our strengths should be celebrated rather than diminished by a culture that seeks to erase them.
✨ My Beliefs on Gender & Sexuality
I personally do not believe men can become women or that women can become men. I do not agree with the LGBTQ lifestyle, and you will not find me in support of it on this blog. However, I have nothing against those who choose to live this way—you are a valuable human being, just like the rest of us. My belief is simply that marriage was created by God to be between a biological man and a biological woman. If you disagree, this may not be the blog for you.
A Few Things About Me
• I love to cook! (I once dreamed of being a chef, but my heart is too tender for the food industry.)
• Children are my joy! I work in childcare and find so much fulfillment in nurturing little hearts.
• I love reading! (The Phantom Tollbooth is my favorite book!)
• I enjoy poetry, songwriting, and drawing. (I may not be the best artist, but I love creating beauty in every form!)
• I make soap, lotion, and tinctures as I learn more about natural living.
• I strive to be a good, submissive wife and grow in grace, patience, and humility every day.
Why I Started This Blog
Marriage is a journey, and I want to share mine with you—the joys, the lessons, and the ways God is shaping me into a better wife and homemaker. My goal is to encourage other women to embrace biblical womanhood, cherish their marriages, and build homes that reflect God’s love. ❤️
If you value faith, femininity, and the beauty of a God-centered life, you’re in the right place. I pray that this blog blesses and encourages you as we grow together in grace and truth.
With love,
thatgentlewife

The Lord‘s Prayer
Hey, got a minute to pray with me real quick?
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever.
Amen

The Arab,s proverb says, "Give me your heart; we can meet whenever you want."
This means that sincerity of heart and truthfulness in intention are essential in relationships, and the frequency of meetings is not as important. It emphasizes that genuine love, loyalty, and a pure intention strengthen relationships. When the heart is sincere, meetings become meaningful, regardless of how few they are. This is a profound thought that reflects the beauty of human relationships.

Proverbs 5:1-2 (NLT). “My son, pay attention to my wisdom; listen carefully to my wise counsel. Then you will show discernment, and your lips will express what you’ve learned.”
Hebrews 5:14 (ESV). “But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.”
1 Corinthians 12:10 (NLT). “He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to discern whether a message is from the Spirit of God or from another spirit.”
“Why We Need Spiritual Discernment” by In Touch Ministries:
“When faced with a decision that seems to have several good answers, rely on the Holy Spirit for guidance.”
“Things aren’t always what they seem. That’s the mantra of many mystery books and TV shows, but it’s also a wise attitude for life. Many people make decisions based on feelings or judge situations by what appears to be ideal. Thankfully, God has given every believer a spirit of discernment to help us determine what’s best.
Think about how many decisions we must make on a daily basis—choices about family, finances, work. In a perfect world, each decision would have a correct and incorrect choice. In reality, however, what seems right isn’t always best. Some things that are neither wrong nor sinful may still be outside God’s will for us.
Scripture doesn’t contain specific directives about every possible life scenario. Instead, it’s filled with principles laid down by direct teaching or, at times, through stories. As we grow in spiritual maturity, biblical principles coupled with guidance from the Holy Spirit help us make godly judgments. (See 2 Peter 1:3.)
The question isn’t whether a certain choice looks good or feels right, but whether it’s God’s will for that point in our life. A spirit of discernment is essential for living in His will. Many choices that feel appropriate are actually contrary to what the Lord desires. That is why we must evaluate situations from a biblical perspective and ask the Spirit to guide us.”

“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” – Proverbs 17:22
Laughter is a unique gift given to us, human beings by our Creator. I say unique because you don't see animals cracking jokes or laughing with their kind. Laughter makes our spirits light and reduces our stress levels. Instead of constantly talking about our difficulties, let's ask God to fill our hearts with joy and our mouths with laughter. We must take time off to have some lighter moments with our family and loved ones, laugh and have fun. See the brighter side of life. Your circumstances may not be favourable, but with Jesus by your side we can smile at the storm. There's no reason to be sad and miserable. All will be well. Cheer up!

A Day in the Life of God’s Princess 👑✨
As daughters of the King, we’re all God’s princesses—loved, valued, and called for a divine purpose. But what does it really look like to live as God’s princess in our daily lives? Here’s a reimagined royal routine to inspire your walk with Christ.
🌅 Morning: Rise and Shine for the King
“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24)
• Begin the day with gratitude, acknowledging your royal status as a child of God.
• Spend time in prayer and scripture, setting your heart on His promises and guidance.
• Remind yourself of your worth—your crown is not earned, but freely given through Christ.
✨ Midday: Walking in Purpose
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works.” (Ephesians 2:10)
• God’s princess isn’t idle; she pursues her calling with confidence and humility.
• Whether it’s school, work, or caring for loved ones, approach each task with excellence as a reflection of your identity in Him.
• Look for ways to serve others with kindness and compassion, spreading the light of the Kingdom wherever you go.
🌸 Afternoon: Kingdom Connections
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up.” (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
• Spend time connecting with others—whether it’s friends, family, or strangers.
• Offer encouragement and love, knowing that your words and actions reflect the King you serve.
• God’s princess strengthens relationships and uplifts her fellow daughters of the King.
🌙 Evening: Rest in Royal Peace
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
• After a full day, find time to rest in God’s presence, surrendering your worries and cares to Him.
• Reflect on His faithfulness, remembering that your identity isn’t tied to what you did today, but to who you are in Him.
• Renew your spirit through worship, quiet time, or journaling your prayers and gratitude.
💖 Being God’s Princess Means:
• Walking in confidence, knowing you are loved and cherished.
• Serving with humility, reflecting the heart of your King.
• Seeking His guidance in every decision, big or small.
• Living a life of joy, peace, and purpose, anchored in His truth.

365 Proverbs for Daily Living
Day 12 – The Giver of Wisdom
For the LORD grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding. (Pro 2:6 NLT)
Read: Psalm 49
The movie, The Giver, starring Jeff Bridges, is based on a Newbery Award Winning novel of the same name by Lois Lowry. It starts out seeming like a Utopian novel, about a society where nothing goes wrong, where every day is perfect, and everyone is happy. Everyone is well-behaved. There is no rain, no snow, no tornados, no bars, no drunk drivers. No crime. It seems like heaven, almost.
But under the surface, we discover that it’s really a dystopian novel, and the society enforces ‘sameness’ by removing any differences. There is no color, no rainbows, no music, no literature except approved manuals. There is no entertainment. No History. No memory, even. Everyone is required to receive a daily injection so that they can’t see color, so that they remain happy and content. Your lifetime career is assigned by computer. Anyone who does not comply, who does not fit in, who might cause trouble or even seem odd or different, is sent Elsewhere – essentially, they are euthanized. It seems like hell, almost.
The only person who knows anything about the past is an odd man called The Receiver of Memory. This person is allowed to store the collective memory of what came Before. He renames himself ‘The Giver’ as he receives an apprentice, to pass on the truth of what this society has become, to one of the boys in the Community. This knowledge, this memory of what they had LOST, what they had BECOME, what they WERE, what they were DOING, is passed on in small snips because the entire truth is too large, too hard to accept, all at once.
We can try to amass riches and live an idyllic life in a perfect climate, but our riches cannot go with us, and only wisdom will last beyond the grave where we are all going. God is the Giver of Wisdom. This information is freely obtainable in the Bible. It isn’t given to just one person. You don’t have to be lucky enough to be assigned by computer to be allowed to have it. All you have to do is open your mind, open your heart, open your Bible, and read. But it doesn’t come all at once. It comes little by little, over years of study. It does require a bit of mining, as we discussed yesterday. But it’s worth all the hard work, the careful and prayerful study. Because with Wisdom comes eternal life.
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for being the Giver of Wisdom. May I mine new truths from your holy Word, today. Amen

Proverbs Daily Reflection – February 2, 2025

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise adorns knowledge, but the mouth of the fool gushes folly.
The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.
The lips of the wise spread knowledge, but the hearts of fools are not upright. The Lord detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases him.
A person finds joy in giving an apt reply— and how good is a timely word!
The heart of the righteous weighs its answers, but the mouth of the wicked gushes evil. The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.
—Proverbs 15:1-2, 4, 7-8, 23, 28-29
~~~~~
Freedom in this Speech
By Jennifer Kane
A gentle answer
quiets the storm,
turns aside the fury
like soft rain on parched ground.
But a harsh word,
a spark that feeds the flame,
stirs anger’s heat
like wind through dry fields.
The wise adorn knowledge,
their words bloom like trees of life,
steady, bearing fruit in season,
while foolish words rush like a flood,
sweeping any peace away.
The lips of the wise spread knowledge—
planting kindness in each syllable.
But those whose hearts run crooked
cannot walk the path of truth.
The Lord knows our hearts,
accepts the prayers of the upright,
but from the wicked,
sacrifice is hollow sound.
Joy springs forth
from a word fitly spoken—
like apples of gold,
a timely gift,
an answer weighed in wisdom.
The righteous wait,
measuring words with love,
while the wicked mouth
gushes only harm.
The Lord draws near
to those who seek His way,
listening to gentle voices,
for the prayers of the righteous
delights His heart.
~~~~~
Scriptures: Proverbs 15:1-2, 4, 7-8, 23, 28-29
In a world quick to speak and slow to listen, Proverbs 15 stands as a reminder of the power of our words to build peace and bring healing. Each verse captures the significance of responding with wisdom, a gentle spirit, and a heart tuned to God’s will. Our speech reflects the state of our hearts and impacts our relationship with God and others.
"A soft answer turns away wrath, but grievous words stir up anger." Proverbs 15:1 shows us that peace can be preserved with a gentle response. Like a soothing balm, soft words can defuse anger, while harsh words only escalate it. This approach allows God’s grace to shape our responses, making us peacemakers. Just as Gideon’s mildness brought peace to the Ephraimites, our calm words can restore relationships and prevent unnecessary conflict.
"A wholesome tongue is a tree of life." the healing power of wise and gentle words, which soothe wounded consciences and restore broken spirits. Our words can be a "tree of life"—they can heal, encourage, and uplift others. When we practice speaking with kindness and grace, we spread hope and comfort, like the leaves of the tree in Revelation that bring healing.
In verses 2 and 7, we’re reminded that wise speech is rooted in a good heart. Those with knowledge should share it, using their words for the benefit of others rather than keeping it to themselves. Wise words are like seeds scattered in fertile soil, able to inspire and strengthen others. On the other hand, foolish talk is destructive, spreading confusion and harm.
God delights in the prayers of the righteous, as verse 8 tells us, while sacrifices from insincere hearts are an abomination to Him. When we come to God with humility and a desire to live according to His will, our prayers are a delight to Him. But if our words and actions lack integrity, they do not please God. A heart grounded in God is seen in sincere prayer and consistent, loving actions toward others.
The joy that comes from speaking wisely and at the right time. It’s better than just the satisfaction of simple a snappy comeback. A well-timed word brings encouragement and blessing, both to the speaker and to the listener. It’s a joy to know that our words have touched someone, offering hope or insight just when it’s needed. This encourages us to be attentive to the Spirit, ready to speak life-giving words at the right moment.
"The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous." God is close to those who live righteously and speak wisely, hearing and answering their prayers. When we walk in His ways, He draws near to us, offering His comfort and guidance. Yet, those who defy Him distance themselves from His blessings. Henry emphasizes that God is a present help to those who call on Him in sincerity, and His nearness is a precious gift for all who seek Him.
Consider your words today—are they gentle, healing, and wise? Do they bring peace or stir up conflict? As we cultivate hearts aligned with God’s wisdom, our words become a powerful witness of His love and grace. Pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance to use your words thoughtfully, so they may bring life and healing to all who hear them.
~~~~~
My Lord God,
Please fill my heart with Your wisdom, so that my words may bring peace, healing, and joy. Help me to speak with gentleness and truth, reflecting Your love to those around us. Draw me close to You, and may my words honor and delight You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Genesis 5:21-25 (AMP). [21] “When Enoch was sixty-five years old, he became the father of Methuselah. [22] Enoch walked [in habitual fellowship] with God three hundred years after the birth of Methuselah and had other sons and daughters. [23] So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. [24] And [in reverent fear and obedience] Enoch walked with God; and he was not [found among men], because God took him [away to be home with Him]. [Heb 11:5] [25] When Methuselah was a hundred and eighty-seven years old, he became the father of Lamech.”
Matthew 6:33 (KJV). “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
“How to Walk With God” by In Touch Ministries:
“If a relationship with God is our priority, we can rest, knowing He will direct our path.”
Scripture tells us that Enoch’s walk with the Father was so close that “God took him” (Gen. 5:24). This implies Enoch didn’t die but was taken directly into the Lord’s presence. It pleases God when His children seek to follow Him with this same closeness. Consider these aspects of a vibrant walk with the Lord:
• Reconciliation. This term essentially means “God moving toward us.” We can be joyful because the responsibility is all His. Through the cross of Christ, God has already made His move in our direction. 2 Corinthians 5:18 says, “Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.”
• Trusting God. We must have faith that, through Jesus, God provides all we need in order to walk intimately with Him.
• Agreement. To appreciate the closeness God longs to have with us, we must agree with what Scripture teaches about His Son, His Word, the church, and sin.
• Fellowship. Just as human relationships fall apart without regular interaction, our intimacy with God weakens when we don’t spend time with Him.
The walk of faith is a beautiful journey. When we seek the Lord above all else, He’ll direct our path (Proverbs 3:5-6).
