Proverbs Daily Reflection – December 2 2, 2024
Good morning, and God bless you. I appreciate everyone who takes the time to read what I write in Christ, and I hope that this touches your heart and compassion. #josephmekaelpageministries
Proverbs 22:22 – Advocating for the Poor with the Heart of Christ “Do not rob the poor because he is poor, or crush the afflicted at the gate.” – Proverbs 22:22 God’s Word calls us to uphold justice. It also calls us to have compassion for the vulnerable. Proverbs 22:22 warns against exploiting the poor or oppressing the afflicted. Cross-referencing translations deepens our understanding: KJV:…

هذه الحكمة تعني "أعطني قلبك؛ يمكنك أن تلتقي متى شئت".❤️
The Arab,s proverb says, "Give me your heart; we can meet whenever you want."
This means that sincerity of heart and truthfulness in intention are essential in relationships, and the frequency of meetings is not as important. It emphasizes that genuine love, loyalty, and a pure intention strengthen relationships. When the heart is sincere, meetings become meaningful, regardless of how few they are. This is a profound thought that reflects the beauty of human relationships.

Get to know me 🌸
Hi there! Here’s my get to know me,
I’m 20 years old, and happily married as of November 2024. I love Jesus, (and he loves you too!) I have very traditional values that reflect themselves in my mental, physical, spiritual, and sexual life. I’m holistic-ish. I used to be a feminist, not anymore. I try to live life cleanly, but as affordable as possible. I serve God before anything. Secondly, I serve my husband above all other people.
THIS BLOG IS ANTI-ABORTION I believe abortion is murder because life begins at conception. From the moment of fertilization, a baby has its own DNA, completely unique and separate from the mother’s. That’s a human life, and taking it is no different than taking the life of someone outside the womb. To me, the unborn child is not just “a clump of cells” or a part of the mother’s body—it’s a separate, living person with the same right to life as anyone else.
I also believe this because of my faith in God. The Bible says that we’re all made in the image of God, and in Psalm 139, it talks about how God knits us together in the womb, knowing us before we’re even born. Life is sacred to Him, and abortion is going against His design and plan. It’s heartbreaking to think of a life, one that God has already given purpose and value to, being taken away before it even gets a chance.
That’s why I’m anti-abortion. I understand that many women who choose abortion are scared or feel hopeless. I don’t think condemning them is the answer—I want to see people stepping in with support, resources, and love to help them through those hard times. Adoption, crisis pregnancy centers, and community support are such powerful ways to give these women and their babies a future.
At the end of the day, I believe every single human life is valuable, no matter how small or how inconvenient it might seem to the world. Standing up for the unborn is standing up for those who can’t speak for themselves, and it’s about honoring the sanctity of life, as God intended.
THIS BLOG IS ANTI-PORN I believe pornography is destructive to individuals, relationships, and society as a whole. It promotes unrealistic expectations of intimacy, which damages trust and erodes the foundation of healthy relationships. Porn also encourages people to objectify and devalue others, making it harder to see each person as someone with inherent dignity. Beyond that, it’s addictive, harming mental health, fostering shame, and isolating people. It promotes a culture that celebrates consequence-free, casual sex, which weakens values like self-control, chastity, and commitment—values that are central to strong families and communities. I’m especially concerned about how easily kids are exposed to porn, warping their understanding of sex and relationships at a young age. Spiritually, it tempts people away from a life aligned with God’s will and replaces real love with emptiness.
THIS BLOG DOES NOT SUPPORT DOMESTIC DISCIPLINE Domestic discipline, often involving corporal punishment of a spouse, is considered unbiblical by many because it contradicts the core Christian principles of love, respect, and mutual submission in marriage. The Bible emphasizes forgiveness and reconciliation rather than punishment, suggesting that such practices are abusive and not reflective of Christ's teachings.
FYI, I personally don’t believe men can be women or that women can be men. I do not agree with the LGBTQ lifestyle, you will not find me in support of that in this blog. I have nothing against people who choose to live this way. You are a valuable human being just like the rest of us. I just believe marriage is between a biological man and biological a woman created by God. If you don’t agree with this, this probably isn’t the blog for you.
However! The traditional lifestyle is something that should be accessible for all sexes and races. I don’t think it should be just limited to one sex or race.
My hobbies and interest include:
• Cooking (I wanted to be a chef but I am too soft for the food industry)
• Taking care of children (I work in childcare)
• Reading (My favorite book is the Phantom Tolbooth!)
• Writing poetry and songs
• Drawing (I’m not good I just love to do it)
• I love to make soap, lotion, and tinctures
• Educating myself on non toxic living
• Being a good and submissive wife
My goal on this blog is to post about how my young traditional marriage is going. What is working, what isn’t, what might work for you. Etc etc. Feel free to stay along for the ride!
With love,
thatgentlewife

“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” – Proverbs 17:22
Laughter is a unique gift given to us, human beings by our Creator. I say unique because you don't see animals cracking jokes or laughing with their kind. Laughter makes our spirits light and reduces our stress levels. Instead of constantly talking about our difficulties, let's ask God to fill our hearts with joy and our mouths with laughter. We must take time off to have some lighter moments with our family and loved ones, laugh and have fun. See the brighter side of life. Your circumstances may not be favourable, but with Jesus by your side we can smile at the storm. There's no reason to be sad and miserable. All will be well. Cheer up!

The Lord‘s Prayer
Hey, got a minute to pray with me real quick?
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever.
Amen

Proverbs 15:18 (NLT). “A hot-tempered person starts fights; a cool-tempered person stops them.”
John 14:27 (NLT). “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”
Luke 12:11-12 (NLT). “And when you are brought to trial in the synagogues and before rulers and authorities, don’t worry about how to defend yourself or what to say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what needs to be said.”
Psalm 141:3 (AMP). “Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips [to keep me from speaking thoughtlessly].”
“Responding to Conflict” By In Touch Ministries:
“When criticism comes your way, pause to ask for God's wisdom before replying.”
“When conflict occurs, what should our response be? Turning to the Lord in prayer is always the best way to respond in a crisis. By doing so, we can ask Him to provide…
Spiritual discernment. God knows and perfectly understands the source of the problem—and He can enable us to comprehend it, too. With the Spirit’s assistance, we will gain insight into the situation.
A quiet spirit. Our human nature will want to react quickly so we can defend ourselves or stand up for what we think is right. But before we act, it’s important to deliberately focus our attention on God and experience the inner peace that He promises (John 14:27).
Wisdom. The Lord told the disciples that the Holy Spirit would give them wise words to say (Luke 12:11-12). And He’ll do that for us as well. If we are tempted to speak hastily, we should ask the Spirit for guidance and the words to speak (Psalm 141:3).
God has called us to represent Him in every situation the same way Christ did—by depending on the heavenly Father. Next time someone speaks critically to you, focus your heart on God and let Him direct your response.”

A Day in the Life of God’s Princess 👑✨
As daughters of the King, we’re all God’s princesses—loved, valued, and called for a divine purpose. But what does it really look like to live as God’s princess in our daily lives? Here’s a reimagined royal routine to inspire your walk with Christ.

• Begin the day with gratitude, acknowledging your royal status as a child of God.
• Spend time in prayer and scripture, setting your heart on His promises and guidance.
• Remind yourself of your worth—your crown is not earned, but freely given through Christ.
✨ Midday: Walking in Purpose
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works.” (Ephesians 2:10)
• God’s princess isn’t idle; she pursues her calling with confidence and humility.
• Whether it’s school, work, or caring for loved ones, approach each task with excellence as a reflection of your identity in Him.
• Look for ways to serve others with kindness and compassion, spreading the light of the Kingdom wherever you go.
🌸 Afternoon: Kingdom Connections
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up.” (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
• Spend time connecting with others—whether it’s friends, family, or strangers.
• Offer encouragement and love, knowing that your words and actions reflect the King you serve.
• God’s princess strengthens relationships and uplifts her fellow daughters of the King.
🌙 Evening: Rest in Royal Peace
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
• After a full day, find time to rest in God’s presence, surrendering your worries and cares to Him.
• Reflect on His faithfulness, remembering that your identity isn’t tied to what you did today, but to who you are in Him.
• Renew your spirit through worship, quiet time, or journaling your prayers and gratitude.
💖 Being God’s Princess Means:
• Walking in confidence, knowing you are loved and cherished.
• Serving with humility, reflecting the heart of your King.
• Seeking His guidance in every decision, big or small.
• Living a life of joy, peace, and purpose, anchored in His truth.

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise adorns knowledge, but the mouth of the fool gushes folly.
The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.
The lips of the wise spread knowledge, but the hearts of fools are not upright. The Lord detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases him.
A person finds joy in giving an apt reply— and how good is a timely word!
The heart of the righteous weighs its answers, but the mouth of the wicked gushes evil. The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.
—Proverbs 15:1-2, 4, 7-8, 23, 28-29
~~~~~
Freedom in this Speech
By Jennifer Kane
A gentle answer
quiets the storm,
turns aside the fury
like soft rain on parched ground.
But a harsh word,
a spark that feeds the flame,
stirs anger’s heat
like wind through dry fields.
The wise adorn knowledge,
their words bloom like trees of life,
steady, bearing fruit in season,
while foolish words rush like a flood,
sweeping any peace away.
The lips of the wise spread knowledge—
planting kindness in each syllable.
But those whose hearts run crooked
cannot walk the path of truth.
The Lord knows our hearts,
accepts the prayers of the upright,
but from the wicked,
sacrifice is hollow sound.
Joy springs forth
from a word fitly spoken—
like apples of gold,
a timely gift,
an answer weighed in wisdom.
The righteous wait,
measuring words with love,
while the wicked mouth
gushes only harm.
The Lord draws near
to those who seek His way,
listening to gentle voices,
for the prayers of the righteous
delights His heart.
Scriptures: Proverbs 15:1-2, 4, 7-8, 23, 28-29
In a world quick to speak and slow to listen, Proverbs 15 stands as a reminder of the power of our words to build peace and bring healing. Each verse captures the significance of responding with wisdom, a gentle spirit, and a heart tuned to God’s will. Our speech reflects the state of our hearts and impacts our relationship with God and others.
"A soft answer turns away wrath, but grievous words stir up anger." Proverbs 15:1 shows us that peace can be preserved with a gentle response. Like a soothing balm, soft words can defuse anger, while harsh words only escalate it. This approach allows God’s grace to shape our responses, making us peacemakers. Just as Gideon’s mildness brought peace to the Ephraimites, our calm words can restore relationships and prevent unnecessary conflict.
"A wholesome tongue is a tree of life." the healing power of wise and gentle words, which soothe wounded consciences and restore broken spirits. Our words can be a "tree of life"—they can heal, encourage, and uplift others. When we practice speaking with kindness and grace, we spread hope and comfort, like the leaves of the tree in Revelation that bring healing.
In verses 2 and 7, we’re reminded that wise speech is rooted in a good heart. Those with knowledge should share it, using their words for the benefit of others rather than keeping it to themselves. Wise words are like seeds scattered in fertile soil, able to inspire and strengthen others. On the other hand, foolish talk is destructive, spreading confusion and harm.
God delights in the prayers of the righteous, as verse 8 tells us, while sacrifices from insincere hearts are an abomination to Him. When we come to God with humility and a desire to live according to His will, our prayers are a delight to Him. But if our words and actions lack integrity, they do not please God. A heart grounded in God is seen in sincere prayer and consistent, loving actions toward others.
The joy that comes from speaking wisely and at the right time. It’s better than just the satisfaction of simple a snappy comeback. A well-timed word brings encouragement and blessing, both to the speaker and to the listener. It’s a joy to know that our words have touched someone, offering hope or insight just when it’s needed. This encourages us to be attentive to the Spirit, ready to speak life-giving words at the right moment.
"The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous." God is close to those who live righteously and speak wisely, hearing and answering their prayers. When we walk in His ways, He draws near to us, offering His comfort and guidance. Yet, those who defy Him distance themselves from His blessings. Henry emphasizes that God is a present help to those who call on Him in sincerity, and His nearness is a precious gift for all who seek Him.
Consider your words today—are they gentle, healing, and wise? Do they bring peace or stir up conflict? As we cultivate hearts aligned with God’s wisdom, our words become a powerful witness of His love and grace. Pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance to use your words thoughtfully, so they may bring life and healing to all who hear them.
~~~~~
My Lord God,
Please fill my heart with Your wisdom, so that my words may bring peace, healing, and joy. Help me to speak with gentleness and truth, reflecting Your love to those around us. Draw me close to You, and may my words honor and delight You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The Power of Life and Death
Think of a time you said something you regret, or were the target of undeserved gossip. Now, reflect on a situation where you encouraged a friend who was hurting, or felt the life-giving effects of someone else’s words.
Words matter. Your words matter. And, God has given you the freedom to choose how you use them.
Are you using your words to tear down or build up? To provoke destruction or stimulate restoration? Do your words stir up drama or encourage peace?
“What you say flows from what is in your heart,” Jesus explained in Luke 6:45.
Fruit reveals the health of a tree, just as a tongue reveals what is happening in the heart.
Most of us want to use our words for good and not for harm … we don’t want to be unkind or critical. But, James 3 tells us that the tongue is unstable and cannot seem to be tamed.
So, what can we do? Is there a way to control it?
Self-control is a fruit the Holy Spirit produces in us, which means we can’t manufacture controlling our tongues on our own. But, we do have a part to play in the process: we need to stick close to Jesus.
When we read His Word, seek His face, and walk in His ways (no matter how many times we mess up and have to begin again), love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control begin to grow in our lives. The biblical term is abiding: staying, continuing, or remaining in Jesus’ presence.
As we abide with Jesus, the Holy Spirit begins to curb the way we speak and change the way we act. When that happens, our words start to bring life and hope to the people around us.
So this week, how will you use your words to bring healing and hope to people? If this isn’t something you’re used to doing, it’s never too early to speak words that spark life in someone.
