Tristan

Did he discover himself/what made him question?

He always hated typically 'girly' activities and things and felt like being a girl was restraining him, but he kind of just ignored it until a bit after the apocalypse, when he approached his mother and told her that he thought he might be a boy who God put in a girl's body my mistake (he was raised very very Christian so that's his only frame of reference for this) which set in motion a chain of events ending with him on his own in the woods running from a cult. He hasn't really thought about it much since leaving, but when asked by Orion, he said his name was Tristan rather than his deadname and presented himself as a boy (he cut his hair while he was alone)

2) how does he feel about labels?

He has a LOT of internalized queerphobia, so he has an instinctual reaction of disgust, but he honestly finds a lot of comfort in having a word for how he is so he feels less broken. In an ideal world, he'd definitely research his labels for fun, and probably would have a lot of them.

3) has he had any struggles with his identity?

Yep. He almost got murdered by a cult leader because he was trans, and he was raised not knowing thst that stuff was possible, just that God never made mistakes and women were created to marry men. He has a shit ton of internalized transphobia specifically (his homophobia circles back to transphobia, he doesn't really see how two men loving each other is that unnatural) and it takes him a WHILE to work on it.

Orion

How did he discover himself/what made him question?

He knew he was trans and gay since he was really young, his dad was aroace and raised him and his older brother in a very queer-friendly environment. He told his family that he wanted to be a boy when he was a toddler, and when he was eight or nine he said that he had a crush on Flynn from tangled. He's kind of just always known

2) How does he feel about labels?

He doesn't really have strong feelings about them, he's never really cared enough to label himself beyond transmasculine and queer. If they make people feel better, he's all for it.

3) Has he had any struggles with his identity?

Not really. His older brother was bi, and his dad was aroace, and all of his extended family/his dad's chosen family was either queer or very strongly allied. He's very comfortable with who he is.
