Subtitles for the news report stop at this point for this scene, so I will provide them:

Can you remember your favorite stuffed toy from childhood?

And how heartbroken you were when it left your life?

Then you’ll relate to the story, of a girl named *unintelligible*

So right from the jump, directly after the opening credits, we are being bombarded with shots of keys and Hopper showing off his blue bracelet and his watch. We know the bracelet was actually a ponytail that belonged to his daughter Sarah, however I think the importance of this scene runs a lot deeper.

It might not seem important, but the dialogue in the background also connects to not only Sarah, but to Will and El too.

As we know, Sarah had a stuffed Tiger on her bedside at the hospital during treatment for her cancer (also featuring the blue ponytail on Hopper's wrist).

As it turns out, Will and El also had a stuffed toy that was referenced in this same season, though they both had stuffed lions, in contrast to Sarah's stuffed tiger.

While it is understood by the majority at this time that these parallels exist only to jog Hopper's memory of his own daughters death, to give some more depth and impact to these moments, it still doesn't answer the question as to why these 3 kids all have the same stuffed toy to begin with? And apparently enough importance for them to drop an easter egg in the first 10 minutes of the show?

In the context of El for example, she has the stuffed lion because it was essentially the only meaningful toy in her possession while in the lab. Sure, she played with toys in the rainbow room and colored with crayons, but those were all things they were tasked to do to test out and improve the kids' powers. The lion in contrast, was simply there to operate as something more personal, tied to her innocence and a life she could have had outside of the lab. And yet at the same time, this being the only thing El had in the lab, gives its importance a tie to the lab itself, which is why I am so wary about this whole thing.

In the context of Will on the other hand, we don't really know much other than that it was shown a lot more than El and Sarahs' combined.

Will's lion and the prominence of it in s1, more than anything else, is what makes me think the meaning behind these parallels is so much more than how we currently understand it. Because while we assume right now he has no ties to the lab, the fact that this stuffed toy has ties to the lab for El and Sarah, begs to question why there was a need to focus on it so much in Will's case, when he was never in the lab pre-s1 (or was he?)...

Which then brings us to Sarah, where you might think her case has no ties to the lab, but it does!

Sarah received treatment for her cancer at Hawkins Lab. This is something so many people either overlook and don't know about, or forget and just brush off as being insignificant, which I just cannot fathom.

It would be one thing if this was common knowledge in canon and actually spoken about, with Hopper talking about how it's not his first time here, and yet they don't make any effort to establish that. All we got is this stairwell shot of Hopper mourning Sarah's death, in the same stairwell at Hawkins Lab, which we see not only referenced in s1, but also s2 and s4.

Yeah... Owens knows exactly who that is. Let's not forget he's the one who, in another universe (Aliens) signed a document back in 79' that led the death of a lot of people...

So... what's the deal? Why has there been such an effort to put in easter eggs to allude to something unanswered related to Hopper's memories of Sarah, often triggered by instances regarding Will and El, who have almost identical stuffed animals to his daughter's, all tying them to the lab to some extent, and without that being touched on at all by the writers outside of the show?

Well, probably because there's still one season left and this plays a big part in the key to everything...

More information on the bitties hmmm? I absolutely love the bitties and me, Jube, and Birb have actually developed so much lore about them. Some of it we cannot tell you (secrets for the future stories) but I can tell you some bitty things!

One of my favourite things which I haven’t really talked about in the bitty world is bitties with jobs! Although most bitties are pets, there are certain breeds which have been specially developed for certain jobs. These bitties tend to be cheaper because they are either made from the scrap parts of pet bitties or are so specialised that there isn’t much demand for new bitties. Here are some bitty jobs:

- Guide Bitties: a bitty can be very successful trained into a guide bitty if their training starts young. Older pet bitties tend to be much more distractible so they often aren’t good candidates but young bitties can be well trained if started early. If being synthesised specifically to become a guide bitty, the creators tend to focus on personality control rather than looks, so there’s no defined breed. Guide bitties are often selected to have enhanced intelligence and problem solving skills, but it’s important to pair those traits with extreme loyalty and obedience to prevent them from become too willful. Bitties tend to take well to a harness, form a deep bond with their person, and can understand more complex commands than guide dogs. Bitties are considered the premium guide pet, though their use is rare because of the cost of their creation and specialised training.

- Wildlife Control Bitties aka the “Everglades Cracker” breed: Developed in the Florida, the Everglades Cracker breed was created to control invasive wildlife populations and has boomed in popularity for Wildlife Agencies across the world. Cracker bitties are well-known for their almost otter-like appearance, sleek, waterproof coat, webbed toes, ferocious teeth and relentless pursuit instincts. Crackers were specially breed to identify and eliminate invasive species in the Florida Everglades and have been great partners in controlling invasive reptile populations. Often completely fearless, these bitties will attack pythons 10x their size and kill them through well-placed bites to the skull. Crackers are often a very intelligent and willful breed that are raised to differentiate between invasive and native species and to be independent when needed. In the Everglades, they are often found on stern of a skiff or an airboat, poised to jump into the water at the sight of an invasive species. Crackers are a highly specialised breed at do NOT make good pets due to their high prey drive. Despite this, they still bond deeply to their keepers and are kept as mascots for their respective field stations when not on duty.

- the Wool breeds: Although rare, some bitties have been bred to produce lush coats that are used as textile material. These bitties are often described as “walking throw pillows” and when their coat is fully grown only their muzzles are visible. When sheered, these bitties tend to have average looks and a low to the ground profile, so their full winter coat appearance is often preferred. First established in Iceland and then spread to other wool producing regions, these breeds are characterised by their luxurious fur that needs to be sheered every season for the bitty’s health. Different regions tend to specialise in different coat types and there are about a dozen formally recognised wool breeds. Wool breeds tend to created primarily for looks and personality wise, docility, agreeableness and submission are favoured. These breeds can be good pets, but they should not be kept in hot weather climates with their full coats due to overheating.

Starting with my favorites- I got extremely lucky and finally get both of the Eggman Kidrobot vinyl mini figures! I've wanted them since 2016 and they're quite rare now.

The cute Eggman in Egg Mobile bag tag! I had the series 1 but these tags are US only so it was a score to manage to get both

This classic Eggman rubbery mini figure! Very small but very beautiful, one of the most accurate pieces of merch in this artwork pose, the face and expression is spot on. This is like the way cooler version of those tiny figures of the Western style figures from the 90s as an actual JP game design equivalent to them. Base isn't part of it, he just can't stand up

DUCKTOR ROQUACKNIK PLUSH he's godly lol. I have the plastic version but when they released the all new cuddly soft version I had to get him hehe

Death Egg Eggman Robotics Corp coin! This is the monthly coin from UK Sega Shop, finally got one because it's Eggman themed. Really cool shiny gold with a premium feel. I'm choosing to imagine it as an employee token XD
