I know you've probably had a ton of people bullying Ace posts already, but what abt this
- Group of students are trying to bully Ace who isn't going to do anything bc he doesn't wanna get in trouble for beating someone up
- And then suddenly they mention beating the other first-years (you see where I'm going?)
- Skip past the fighting and the bullies are thoroughly regretting their decisions
- What makes things worse for them, because of course things can get worse, they mention Ortho during that previous conversation (I like motherhen Ace, can you blame me)
- Needless to say, Ace begins to blackmail them from heaven to hell, he won't stoop to their level by making their lives miserable, but he will make them question everything and maybe make some consider becoming monks (does TWST even have monks?)

At first, everyone is mildly concerned, and impressed by how Ace is so diligently studying. Turns out he's just gathering all the blackmail on the bullies. Honestly, azul should recruit him by how much he's gathered.
Let's say oke of the bullies is in the basketball club. One time, when Vargas is telling Ace to clean up, Ace looks directly at the smirking bully, ignoring everyone else's teasing, and loudly insinuates something to do with the blackmail he's gathered. Immediately the bully pales and says that he'll clean up for Ace. Does then repeats this process with the bullies in the clubs that his friends are at to make sure that they don't try shit.
When he finds out one of the bullies is in Igyhide he manages to get the bully expelled after 'tearfully' mentioning it to Crowley and Idia.
Idia is impressed and terrified of the younger. However, he now owes Ace for protecting Ortho. No, he isn't going to use this as an excuse to take Ace out to dinner in a private restraunt and become his lowkey sugar daddy. Why would you ask that? (Wink)

Elon Musk’s X is a thriving hub for Nazi support and propaganda, with paid subscribers sharing speeches by Adolf Hitler or content praising his genocidal regime. NBC News found that at least 150 paid “Premium” subscriber X accounts and thousands of unpaid accounts have posted or amplified pro-Nazi content on X in recent months, often in apparent violation of X’s rules. The paid accounts posting the content all consistently posted antisemitic or pro-Nazi material. Examples included praise of Nazi soldiers, sharing of Nazi symbols and denials of the Holocaust. The pro-Nazi content is not confined to the fringes of the platform. During one seven-day period in March, seven of the most widely shared pro-Nazi posts on X accrued 4.5 million views in total. One post with 1.9 million views promoted a false and long-debunked conspiracy theory that 6 million Jews did not die in the Holocaust. More than 5,300 verified and unverified accounts reshared that post, and other popular posts were reshared hundreds of times apiece.
X’s policies ban glorifying violence — a broad prohibition that X has sometimes used to take down pro-Nazi content and accounts. The rules also ban “praising violent entities” and say the platform will apply labels to hate imagery like swastikas. But NBC News found that X does not appear to be enforcing those policies consistently. The findings are the latest evidence of a flourishing Nazi network on X under Musk’s ownership. Previous investigations by news organizations and anti-hate watchdogs have documented many examples of antisemitism, white supremacy and support for Nazism on X.
NBC News found the Nazi propaganda posts by browsing the platform: scrolling through replies, clicking on user profiles and looking through the engagements on viral posts. NBC News conducted its review during one week in late March. The number of verified subscribers posting pro-Nazi material may be significantly more than 150. When NBC News conducted its review, Premium subscribers had the option to hide their verification check marks from the public. The verified users sharing the pro-Nazi content have entered into a mutually beneficial relationship with Musk’s X, paying $8 a month or more for premium services that are available to all premium subscribers. In exchange, they get “prioritization” when they reply to posts and the opportunity to monetize their content through ads, according to the subscription terms. The result is that X is bringing Nazi sympathizers in from the dark corners of the internet to a massive platform where they can pay to amplify their content. X had 174 million daily active users worldwide on its mobile app in February, according to the research firm Sensor Tower. X claims to have many more than that.
NBC News conducted its research in March, before X implemented a change to provide free premium subscriptions to accounts with more than 2,500 verified followers. That move has made it more difficult to determine who is a paid subscriber. A welcoming social media environment can make Nazi sympathizers feel validated in their views and recruit others to their cause, said Patrick Riccards, executive director of Life After Hate, a Milwaukee-based organization that helps people disengage from violent extremist groups. “For those who are already driven by hate, it is a big warm hug,” he said. Online hatred can also contribute to violence offline, he said, citing the racist massacre at a grocery store in Buffalo, New York, where 10 Black people died in 2022. The gunman wrote in a document that he supported neo-Nazism. He later said in court that he “believed what I read online and acted out the hate.” “They’re wanting to find individuals to take physical action when the time comes,” Riccards said.
In most cases, Nazi material on X is about spreading hate, said Megan Squire, deputy director for data analytics at the Southern Poverty Law Center, an anti-hate group founded in 1971. “It’s not like historians are on there talking about Hitler’s speeches,” she said. Squire said that in her research she has found that accounts posting Nazi material are run by “known white supremacist groups that are attempting to normalize their ideas, gain followers and shuffle those followers into platforms” elsewhere online where their organizing work continues. By failing to act against many pro-Nazi accounts, X continues to earn income from their activity in at least two ways: by collecting monthly subscription fees from those posting pro-Nazi content and by running advertisements on those accounts or adjacent to the pro-Nazi content.
[...] Many of the 150 premium accounts have put links on their X profiles directing people to their websites, books and other media, where they sometimes push Nazi sympathy and antisemitism. One such account, using the name The Impartial Truth, posts recycled and remixed Nazi propaganda content, and its X profile links out to a donation site. The account did not respond to an emailed request for comment. One of the premium accounts belongs to Stew Peters, a Florida-based host of an internet talk show who has praised Nazi book-burning in 1930s Germany. Last month, a post of his denying the Holocaust went viral on X with 1.9 million views. Peters has more than 574,000 followers on X, where his posts often include antisemitism, and his account links to his website charging $10 a month for videos. In response to a request for comment, Peters said NBC News was using “ad hominem arguments to create narratives out of whole cloth.”
Some of the accounts posting Nazi propaganda are unabashed in their praise of the Nazis. At least two verified X subscribers recently praised Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi propaganda minister. One said it used artificial intelligence to generate fake audio of Goebbels reading his writing aloud, bringing in more than 23,000 views. X’s policies require a “sensitive media” label for “hateful imagery,” which includes “symbols historically associated with hate groups, e.g., the Nazi swastika.” Musk cited a related “incitement to violence” policy when he suspended the rapper Ye, formerly Kanye West, after Ye praised Hitler in an interview and posted an image resembling a swastika.
Some viral Nazi content stops short of praise and instead drives engagement to accounts with no clear ideology. Two examples came in March from the account @dom_lucre, a conspiracy theorist. It posted two Hitler speeches that together received more than 15 million views. The speeches were translated with artificial intelligence, Lucre said. He, unlike others, included a warning that the speech was graphic and antisemitic, though he did not express disapproval. “I am simply sharing what is news as I always do,” he wrote in a post. Lucre, who also goes by Dominick McGee, according to his Facebook page, did not respond to an emailed request for comment. Lucre and other similar posters who stopped short of praising Nazis were not included in the NBC News count of the 150 premium subscribers posting pro-Nazi content. Those 150 accounts were more explicit in their pro-Nazi ideologies.

I crushed my interview, and I'm so happy I could cry 🥹 It was supposed to be only be a a first group interview, and instead they took me aside, gave me a temp badge and brought me up to the main floor for a second interview.
Job comes with:
✦ All health/vision/dental premiums paid.
✦ Free large latte from the fancy lobby cafe every 'friday'.
✦ No dress code, outside of basic no hate/nudity. Half the office was alt/gamer/goth, and there was a stitched Zelda banner on the office wall??
✦ It's the easiest commute I've ever had, and the heavily AC-ed ride includes a mountain, a lake, and a bunch of places to grab food.
✦ They stagger their calls for employees. Majority of IT or Customer Service lines only have 1-2 seconds between the time one customer hangs up and the next person rings in. Sometimes you don't even have enough time to inhale.
✦ Over $21/hr.
The 3rd person I interviewed with said if it goes the way he expects- I should get a call from their company recruiter within 24 hrs! ◝(ᵔᵕᵔ)◜

Juxtapose these facts against the misconception that people become rich by serving in Congress. ... Congress is full of multimillionaires for the same reason that the NBA is full of tall people. It’s easier to get recruited and win with such advantages. Serving in Congress does not pad your bank account any more than playing basketball adds inches to your height. While we might accept physical attributes in athletes as natural or desirable, wealth does not give a better perspective for politics. It undercuts the purpose of representative democracy.
Americans rightfully fume that congressmembers trade stocks, convinced that insider information is misused, but we refuse to squarely address the harm that comes from representatives having such wealth in the first place. From 2019 to 2022, over 130 members of the House of Representatives each traded over $100,000 of stock. To trade that dollar volume in a year, these folks are either addicted day traders who cannot manage their money (much less our economy), or—and this is the reality—they own stocks worth many multiples of what they traded.
Representatives who are my peers in age and years of political service—like Cindy Axne, Mike Garcia, Ashley Hinson, Ro Khanna, Tom Malinowski, Blake Moore, Kim Schrier, and Mikie Sherrill—have each traded over $1 million while in office. In my life before Congress, I knew that people with net worths in the tens of millions were not my peers. Pretending they are in Congress is an indignity."

[Review] World of Demons (ATV)
Okami 3???
I occasionally browse Apple Arcade to see what's been added; this time what leaped out was a title heralded as Platinum's first mobile game. Platinum of course is known for their character action games and as the successor studio to Clover, creators of Okami for Capcom. This has a very similar setting inspired by Japanese folklore and mythology, and almost identical graphic style inspired by traditional Japanese arts. After enjoying Okami and Okamiden so much, I wanted to see if this recaptured their magic at all.
It's important to reiterate at this point that this is very much a mobile game. The control scheme is simplified compared to other games from the studio to remain accessible on touchscreens, a priority for many Apple Arcade games that must be platform-agnostic. (I did play it on an Apple TV with a controller, which helped it feel better... although there's no helping the dodgy camera.) The level design is more or less simple corridors between battle arenas, with some interaction along the way: it felt like a very stripped-back Okami without the overworld.
The overall game structure too follows trends of the platform. The game encourages replaying levels with ratings and random drops, and grinding is required at times to progress or at least make your numbers go up enough. A bonus level requires a premium currency to enter, a likely vestige of a free-to-play microtransaction-driven business model which many Apple Arcade games retain even after being retrofitted for the paid service. It never fails to give these games an uncanny feeling of being neither fish nor fowl.
Anyway. The game feels good to play, those well-honed Platinum mechanics in a more accessible framework. There's one main attack button, although different weapons have tweaked attack strings and unique special moves. The dodge button gets a lot of play with well-timed activation giving you a counter. You unlock new characters for a total of four, and they each play quite differently (I favoured a combo of the fast, range-focused shrine maiden Sayo and the cursed Buddhist monk Dohzen who is slow and strong).
But the main gimmick of the game is the recruitable yōkai. These spirits and creatures of legend are the main enemies of the game and a constant stream of new ones keeps the battling fresh. When defeated they drop orbs which let you summon them for a one-time attack or effect. You also unlock permanent versions which can be enhanced, and each level lets you pick two per character to bring with you. (I usually made sure to pick at least one that would draw enemy aggro.) This is a fun way of customising your playstyle and experimenting with combinations, although with the length of the levels it's better to keep experimentation to the short sidequests lest you be punished for a poor choice.
The yōkai also have some use outside of battle, as there's a limited version of Okami's environmental puzzles. Some objects can be interacted with for a few items or an extra battle, but only if you have the right type of yōkai equipped. Since choices are restricted, and you might not get the right drop or know to save it, it's easy to be stuck without the right tools for these and feel left out; and replaying levels can feel a chore. It feels like a half-baked system, often punishing you for poor luck rather than rewarding you for smart play.
The story is pretty standard demon-and-samurai stuff, with a series of amusingly improbable revelations about character relationships as you go on. It's decent enough with a bit of flair, much like the character designs. It must be noted that after four chapters building to a climax, there's a cheap undercut seemingly setting up an Okami-style next phase (complete with a "to be continued" screen as with all the other chapters), only for the game to just not have any more content. I guess they released the game unfinished, expecting to add more story in later updates, as with Castlevania Grimoire of Souls, or Shantae and the Seven Sirens? But with over a year since the last update, who knows when or if it will indeed be continued.
Either way, what's here is a neat package. In fact I'm glad it didn't drag on too long as Okami did at times. The heavily cel-shaded art style invoking traditional ink painting is a great look, and the game systems are solid save for the yōkai interactions. It's not quite an Okami 3 but there's enough DNA here for it to be maybe an Okami 2.5, and for that reason it was a cool novelty for me.

Basically the sort of thing two unfriendly nations (like the Republic and the Empire) might cooperate to take down, at least as long as the particular pirates in question were not actually in the employ of one of them, or conveniently operating in such a way as to make their ex post facto licensing as privateers worthwhile."
If you need context for my Star Wars pirate ask, it was from a discussion of episode 5 of the new season of Mandalorian, where (s)he is ranting about all the military and politics being wrong. Do you have a general opinion on the military/political versimiltude of Star Wars? I would like to read it if so. Thank you in advance
I don't have a specific thing about the verisimilitude of Star Wars because I don't know the setting well enough really outside of the main films. Most of the military stuff falls fairly flat in the "space is just a 3D ocean" kind of way, but that's understandable. The space battles in Star Wars are largely inspired by WWII-era dogfighting and bombing raids. The politics in the later Star Wars films makes very little sense save as a means to rehash the old Rebellion versus Empire with different proper nouns.
What this person is probably referencing is the various treaties of Utrecht which ended the War of Spanish Succession. In the 1713 Peace of Utrecht, there was a stipulation in its contents that nations should: "cause all pirates and sea-robbers to be apprehended and punished as they deserve, for a terror and example to others." So in one sense, at a certain point in time, there was an effort to end piracy which, while not specifically operating as a joint coalition environment that we might think of, did offer some level of coordination and cut down significantly on pirate activity. By 1720 piracy was on a steep decline and the Golden Age of Piracy ended shortly thereafter, in many ways due to the efforts of European navies to end piracy and the collapse of the pirate republic of Nassau in 1718. Or this individual might be referring to current UN-led international efforts to curb piracy off Somalia, but that requires the mediation of a supranational entity which doesn't appear to be present in Star Wars.
But that specifically was following a resolution to a currently war, so I'd say that they have the issue backwards - once nations at war are able to conclude successful treaty negotiations (and thus no longer be "unfriendly"), which may indeed cover trade/monopoly licensing and the use of privateers, only then would they turn to the successful suppression of brigandry/piracy in a cooperative or semi-cooperative context. Non-privateers may have been hunted down but not typically in a joint operation, at best nations might deny pirates might deny the use of ports or crack down on contraband even from an unfriendly nation, but that's hardly something that two "unfriendly" nations would cooperate on. The context of this cooperation could be a full-on hunting of pirates either in a joint environment or one where they don't interfere in pirate-hunting and restrict or eliminate the use of privateers, or might involve other cooperative measures like denying the use of ports to known pirates and permitting foreign ships to weigh anchor and make use of port services (at a premium of course, mercantilism was the reigning economic theory in the day).
Initially, the end of the War of Spanish Succession saw a boom in piracy as trade exploded in the Carribbean combined with less need for navies and privateers which left many out of work. Trade ship life was miserable and many sailors abandoned the brutal life for a freer life of piracy. With the end of war and the rise of piracy, national navies were recruiting for anti-pirate campaigns. The same pool of skilled sailors that became pirates were also available for recruiting as anti-pirate sailors. Pardons were offered for pirates to end their ways and join up with the various European navies operating in the Caribbean.

Get a LinkedIn. Put your work history on it. Find someone who speaks Corporate Hype to help you phrase the details. (I understand Corporate Hype but do not speak it.)
If you are so inclined, use LinkedIn as a social media platform. Make sure to never post anything you would not be willing to discuss in a job interview. (I have never posted anything social-ish on LinkedIn.)
Put your resume on Indeed.com, WellFound, CareerBuilder... sites like that.
Be wary of the "best site to post at" listicles - they're okay,and not a bad place to start, but a lot of them are only "best" for people with a limited skill range. (Big Data analysts can find jobs. They might find better jobs by putting their resume at the Srs Tech People websites, but that doesn't help the rest of us.)
Applying to 20 jobs gets your resume seen by 20 people who will ignore it if it fails to match one of their most-wanted keywords.
Posting your resume on Indeed, LinkedIn, and so on, gets it seen by hundreds. Maybe thousands, if you have keywords for skills that are currently in high demand.
Most of those are not going to be useful to you. Also you will get a wave of spam about becoming a real estate sales rep. Do not take the spam bait.
(I carefully edited my resume to remove the words "phone" and "service." I still got real estate agent spam. When I had the energy, I would reply and say "Please tell me about any job openings you have that do not involve direct outreach. I'm good with administration and document management; do you have jobs in that area?" Crickets.)
Update your resume/job-search details about once a month. Recruiters look for recently edited listings; if it's been 3 months or more, they assume you've probably found a job or your interests have changed.
Note: Posting on job sites gets your resume seen by recruiters, not the people actually wanting to hire someone. There's a middleman thing going on. Bypassing that takes luck, connections, or super-skills; that's outside of my scope of advice.
But working through the middleman recruiter thing can (1) get you a job that lasts a year or so, (2) teaches you something about that specific industry's needs, (3) makes you some connections to look for something more permanent.
("Isn't that networking?" Maybe, but it's a kind of networking you can't do from the outside.)

Ifechukwude Okonjo, Obi of Ogwashi-Uku, Once Jailed in U.S. for Theft Ifechukwude Okonjo, the current Obi of Ogwashi-Uku in Delta State, Nigeria, was previously convicted of theft in the United States, a fact that remained unknown until recently. The shocking revelation surfaced after court documents indicated his criminal history in Maryland, USA. Ascension to the Throne Okonjo was crowned the Obi of Ogwashi-Uku in September 2019, following the death of his father, Professor Chukuka Okonjo. At the time, the local community had no knowledge of his criminal past in the U.S., where he had been sentenced for theft in 1997. Details of U.S. Conviction According to court records obtained, Ifechukwude Okonjo was criminally indicted in April 1995. He faced charges related to the theft of computer equipment valued at over $300. His younger brother, Onyema Okonjo, was also implicated and later convicted of a similar offense in January 1998. The documents reveal that both brothers were released on bail but failed to appear for subsequent court hearings, resulting in the forfeiture of their bail bonds. Mr. Okonjo was sentenced to six months in prison, while his brother received a 57-day sentence. It remains unclear if the two served their jail terms or fled back to Nigeria. Community Petition Raises Concerns The past criminal record of Obi Ifechukwude Okonjo came to light after concerned community members unearthed the court documents. A petition was subsequently filed with the Delta State Government and the State Security Service (SSS), alleging Okonjo's involvement in land grabbing, illegal arms dealings, and harassment of local residents. The petition, dated October 4, 2024, was authored by the law firm F.O. Okolie on behalf of community members, including Chiedu Enwenwa, Hyacinth Okolie, Ellen Adigwe, and Bruce Ugo Emordi.
