Actually I’m not sure if the pads/Colleen Hoover book/hot dog sausages trifecta was the worst thing I’ve ever checked out with. There was that time I was buying a tub of ice cream, a giant bottle of cheap vodka and a pregnancy test

Our New Beginning
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This small mini series is inspired by this anons' request here!
I found this absoloutely adorable to write and I hope that you all like it as well!
pairings: leah williamson x reader
summary: leah and reader have always wanted to start a family and that day finally comes true.
Tumblr media
You remember the day that you and your wife first planned to have a baby, just like it was yesterday.
For as long as you and Leah had been together, you had always been certain that you both wanted the same thing, which was to start a family and grow old together.
It was a forseeable dream that you both shared and you both knew it was only a matter of time before it happened.
"So, I was thinking," Your wife began, you were sat in your living room as the crisp autumn air filled the room, both of you sat with your fingers interwined. "I think we're ready," she stated.
"Oh, ready for what?" You couldn't hide the amusment in your voice.
"I think we're ready to start our own little family," Leah said, her eyes bright with anticpation at the thought.
You smiled and felt a surge of excitment mixed with nerves, "It's a big step, but I think so too. I can't imagine doing it with anyone else but you," you told your wife honestly.
Leah leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to your lips, "I love you," she whispered, "Lets' do this, let's have a baby," she said.
Tumblr media
In the weeks that followed, you and your wife drove headfirst into your preparations for journey towards parenthood. You had both done extensive research on fertility clinics, consulted with doctors and meticulously planned every little detail.
You decided you would be the one to carry, Leahs' football career was at a high right now and you didn't mind putting your career on the backburner to start a family with your wife.
It was clear that you were both just excited as one another, when one day you sneakily caught Leah browsing online for baby clothes.
"Really?" You asked your wife, a hint of amusement in your voice, "We're not even pregnant yet, love" The reminder from you was gentle, at the end of the day, you knew your wife was just looking forward to starting this journey together with you.
And the fact that your wife was a die-hard Arsenal fan, so of course she would be adamant that her own baby would therefore have their own kit, be damned.
"There's no harm in just looking," Leah waved off your tone of voice, "You can't not expect me to not get them one, our baby is going to be a Gooner, following in their mummy's footsteps. Arsenal runs through their blood," she joked with you, playfully.
"What if they don't even like football?" You challenged, amusedly.
Leah gasped and clutched her hand over her heart, "Arsenal will through their blood, whether they like it or not," she declared with a certain determination in her voice.
You couldn't help but chuckle and imagine your future together with your wife, filled with football games and family outings, "They'll be the cutest little Gooner," you replied, pulling Leah into a tight embrace.
Leah's excitement was palpable, already evisioning their little one wearing a tiny Arsenal shirt, "I can't wait to take them to their first match," she exclaimed, her eyes shining with joy.
Finally, the day arrived for you both to undergo the first IVF procedure, nerves fluttered in your stomach as the two of you sat in the waiting room, your wife holding your hand in comfort.
As you both were called into the doctors office, Leah squeezed your hand, her excitement was tinged with her own nervousness, "Whatever happens, we're in this together," she whispered, her voice steady with determination.
"We're in this together," You repeated with the same determination.
Tumblr media
You thought the IVF procedure would be the part that you were most worried about, but instead it was the the anxious waiting around for the results, that wait was the longest for sure.
Or at least it felt like it was.
Every single day with the lead up to taking the pregnancy test, the anticipation mounted and your nerves felt like they were never settled.
So many times, so many times you wanted to pick up the test and try it earlier than the recommended 2 weeks after the embryo transfer, it was hard to not do it.
You could say it was the same sort of feelings for your wife, especially when you found her up at all early hours in the morning, pacing back and forth with that small frown planted on her face that you would always teased her about, until the day where you could take the test.
You would always remember that special day, the day that changed both of your worlds' for the better.
Your dream had come true, finally.
"Le, come look at this a minute," You motioned your wife to join you, where you stood in the bathroom with a white stick balanced on the counter, the results clear as day.
2 very bold lines, you were pregnant.
Your wife was quick to bolt up from her seat on the sofa to join you in the bathroom, setting her eyes on the test as she gasped, "We're pregnant?" Leah whispered, tears of joy starting to stream down her cheeks as she stared down at the test in her hands.
"We're pregnant," You repeated, your voice trembling with emotion.
Leah's heart swelled with happiness as she wrapped her arms around you, holding you close, "We did it," she murmered, the tears still flowing down her cheeks.
In that moment, all the planning, all the nerves and the waiting faded away, it was replaced with an overwhelming sense of love and grattitude for your new addition to your little family and you both couldn't wait to welcome your little bundle of joy to the world.

characters — nanami kento x reader
note — this took me a long ass time to write. if it seems familiar to any other works, i requested something with the same plot on someone else's blog lololol. THIS IS PART 1 AS IT'S A LITTLE LENGTHY!!! dividers by benkeibear.
(am i posting this on nanami's birthday? yes.)
cw — not proof read, established relationship, kinda ooc nanami? like one mention of sex, pregnancy, strong language, arguing, crying, accusations of cheating, hurt/no comfort.
synopsis — the test results are positive and you aren't ready. when you try to hide this from your boyfriend of 5 years, he assumes the worst.
part 1 | part 2
Tumblr media
this wasn't supposed to happen. it shouldn't have happened. you both took every precaution possible to prevent an outcome neither of you were prepared for — from condoms, to birth control, to plan b. it had kept you safe for as long as you started having sex. you never found yourself worried about carrying a life in you for 9 months.
so why now does the test read positive?
it felt like the world stopped moving. you didn't even know if you were still breathing. your heart had fallen into the pit of your stomach, your eyes wide and full of disbelief. you couldn't believe it. it couldn't have been correct. the 99% accurate claim on the kit had to be lying. there was no way it could've been true.
it took some time, but you were able to tear your gaze away from the test. you looked up to the ceiling, blinking away the hot tears you could feel building up. you took a few deep breaths and tried to swallow down the lump in your throat, your fingers trembling around the test.
you've thought about having kids before. you did want them, just not now. you were unprepared for this. how do you raise a kid when you aren't ready, when you aren't even married?
then it hit you — nanami's involved in this too.
the realization made you feel 10x worse. if you weren't ready for a child, you could only imagine how he would feel about this. his life was going so well right now. he was happy with his career and his salary, he was content with the apartment you both shared, and he was even more happy to be with you. he had his whole life and future planned out. he knew when he would retire and even what he'll do in life after he retires. nanami saw you in his future, you were always there when he would think of it. but would you still be there if he found out you were currently pregnant with his child?
you two had never fully talked about having kids together. you both were confident that you would spend the rest of your lives together. you've discussed marriage, homes, and briefly, kids. it was never a deep conversation — you only ever talked about having them and how many there would be. but never about having them earlier than expected.
gosh, you felt like shit. utter, absolute shit. you felt even worse for nanami. you felt like you were going to ruin his life plans. you felt like this would be the downfall of your relationship. and if it was, who knew if you would ever recover.
your phone buzzed with a notification, pulling you back to reality. you didn't realize tears had fallen until one slipped from your chin and landed on the hand gripping the test. you stood from where you sat on the closed toilet and checked your phone. it was a text from nanami.
i'll be home soon, my love. do you want me to bring anything home?
he was so caring. always considering you, always putting you first. you couldn't help but feel even more guilty.
hi ken. could you get some takeout pls? i'm sorry, i'm not in the mood to be cooking rn.
of course. want anything specific? are you feeling alright?
i'm fine. you can choose tonight :)
alright then. i'll be home soon, i love you ❤️
i love you too 💕
you shut your phone off and placed it back on the counter, screen facing down. you felt horrible — he was always thinking of your needs before his. would this end now that your carrying his child? certainly he wouldn't want to have to worry about another person in his life at the moment. you wouldn't want him to worry.
you stood from the toilet seat, about to leave the restroom when you caught a glimpse of yourself in the mirror. your face was bright pink and red, your eyes also red but not super puffy and swollen. some people might think it was allergies, but not nanami. nanami wasn't some people — he knew you better than anyone, perhaps even yourself. he could see right through you, read you like a book. you began to worry what he would say if the pigment in your face didn't fade in time, if he would ask if you had been crying.
what would you say if he did ask? he knows you so well, it's nearly impossible to lie to the man. you could say you were rewatching your favorite show and got emotional, or reading another chapter or more of the book he bought you the other day. but nanami isn't dumb. he would catch on before you could even finish your excuse, he'd know something's up.
you sighed, inhaling and exhaling deeply. you didn't know how this was going to play out. you didn't know how to act or what to say to nanami when he came home. you were just hoping for the best.
the lock on the door clicked once, twice, and then the door opened. you had been in your shared bedroom, watching some corny rom-com to ease your mind. you had hidden any evidence of the pregnancy test. you threw away the box and instructions, then threw out the trash bag you tossed them in. you kept the test, however, and hid it in your purse that was now laying on your bed. nanami wasn't one to snoop. if he wanted to check something of yours, he would ask permission. and if you didn't grant it, he would respect your boundaries like he always does.
"my love?" you heard nanami's voice echo throughout the apartment. normally, you would've been waiting by the door for him and greeted him excitedly, but for obvious reasons, you weren't.
leaving the bedroom and walking to nanami, who was walking in the hallway and you assumed he was looking for you, you gave him a small smile.
"hi ken," you said quietly, wrapping your arms around his waist instead of his neck where you usually do. you stood up on your toes to reach his lips, kissing them gently and not for long. when you pulled back, nanami leaned down for another, a longer one. were you ever going to get these kisses again if he found out you were carrying his child?
for real this time, you both pulled away. you still smiled softly up at nanami, but he was observing you closely, worry swimming in his honey brown eyes.
three things were running through his mind right now: why were your cheeks and eyes tinted a bright red, as if you had been crying? why didn't you seem as eager to see him after work like usual, wrap your arms over his shoulders and around his neck, and kiss him for more than a second? something was wrong. did he do something? did you know what food he bought and were you not pleased by it? were you feeling sick?
"ken?" you asked, breaking him out of his thoughts. "are you alright?"
"are you alright?" he returned, worry still plastered throughout his face.
you then looked confused, though you weren't, slowly nodding your head, "yeah... why?"
nanami stayed quiet for a second. maybe you were just tired, maybe he was overthinking this. but that idea didn't sit right with him. it was like his gut was telling him that something was up with you. but he didn't know what.
not wanting to push you, he answered, "nothing. i missed you though. let's go eat?"
throughout dinner, nanami noticed how quiet you were. if it were any other day, you would have been telling him about your day, the latest gossip, about the episode you watched or the chapter you read. you were barely even touching your food too. you occasionally took small bites, but most of the time, you were just poking it with your fork.
while he was putting the dishes away, you grabbed yourself a glass of water. that's when nanami asked you, "love, are you sure you're alright?"
"yeah, i'm fine. why do you ask that?" you replied unsurely, looking down at your water.
"i'm sorry. you just seem... off." nanami washed his hands, looking you up and down carefully.
that was another strange thing he noticed. you hadn't looked in his eyes when you told him you were fine. you always make eye contact with him. you're never afraid to and you're not one to break it so quickly, much less avoid it.
he was beginning to question whether you were really fine.
you had just finished getting ready for bed, teeth and hair brushed, skin care routine done. nanami had finished getting ready before you, so he was waiting for you by the bed. but instead of reading a book or even scrolling through his phone, his eyes were glued to you in worry. you could tell he was becoming suspicious of you, and you wished you hadn't made your troubles so obvious. your head was beginning to ache and you were desperately hoping that nanami wouldn't ask any questions.
those hopes were left unsatisfied.
"my love, are you sure you're okay?" nanami asked for what felt like the hundredth time today.
you sighed deeply. "yes, kento, i'm fine," emphasizing the fine. "my head just hurts right now. have you seen the tylenol?" you added, hoping that it would be enough to stop his questioning.
"no, do you want me to check your bag?"
you felt stupid for having kept an small extra bottle of tylenol in your bag. nanami reached over to your side of the bed, grabbing your purse. he had pulled the zipper open when you realized what was about to happen.
"no!" you yelped, practically sprinting to the bed and snatching the bag away from him. you checked to see if the bag had been open enough to see the test, which it hadn't, and some relief washed over you. but then you realized how much worse you had made your current situation with nanami.
fuck. i fucked up. i'm fucked.
nanami's brows were furrowed together, his face painted with a mix of frustration, confusion, and concern. he looked you up and down over and over again, gaze switching from you to your bag repeatedly.
"okay, y/n, seriously. what the hell is going on with you? first, i come home and you don't seem as excited as you tend to be. then your face is all red like you had been crying. then you—you barely talk to me, hell, even look at me throughout dinner! you touched your food like, what, 5 times? and then when i try to look through your bag to help you, you panic and snatch it away from me?"
kento's ramble had you silent. you didn't know how what to say, what stupid excuse you could use, how to explain your behavior. you only avoided his gaze and stared down at your bag. the thick, suffocating silence lasted for a moment longer, then nanami finally spoke again.
"y/n, are you..."
he paused and took a deep breath, as if to prepare himself for what he was about to say.
"are you cheating on me, y/n...?"
you were dumbfounded. in absolute, utter shock. how could nanami, the person who you believed to have the most trust in you, think that you would be unfaithful to him? yes, you realized how skeptical your behavior was. but for him to come to the assumption that you'd cheat on him? it stung a little—a lot, actually.
"what? no... no, of course not, kento! how could you say that?" you retorted, finally looking him in the eyes.
"gee, i don't know, maybe 'cause you can barely even look at me and you're very obviously hiding something!" his voice raising more with each word spoken.
you had no argument to counter what he had just laid out to you because he was right. you couldn't look at him for more than 5 seconds and you were hiding something. you eyed the floor beneath you, opening and shutting your mouth as you tried to think of something to say. nothing ever came out though.
a heavy sigh cut through your thoughts. you looked up from the floor and saw nanami shaking his head, running his hand down his face. he was so disappointed, you could feel his hurt radiating off of him.
"i'm going to sleep," he muttered, reaching for the lamp and dimming it. lying down, nanami shuffled into a more comfortable position, facing away from your side of the bed, and pulling the covers up to his shoulders.
"ken—"
"night, y/n."
you didn't know what you were going to say anyways. tears slid down your cheeks and the least you could do for nanami was keep quiet and let him rest. you realized that you wanted to apologize. apologize for the way you had been behaving towards him this entire evening, for making him doubt your faithfulness to him.
you slid into bed next to him, facing away from him as well. your body shook with the sobs you fought hard to keep in, nose stuffy and pillow quickly becoming soaked. you thought that the positive pregnancy test would have been the downfall of this relationship—now you wonder, will this argument turn these past 5 years into a mere memory?

A/N: Bold is for flashback.
WC: 1410
You couldn’t believe it. You just couldn’t believe it.
You have sworn something was wrong. You knew something was odd with your body and when your period skipped the next month, you went straight to the pharmacy. In a box, there were three test kits.
And when the timer beeped, you stared at these three test kits, all holding the same result.
Pregnant. 7 weeks.
In shock, wouldn’t be a safe word to use. You were filled with mixed emotions. You and Taehyung have been trying for almost a year now. You were almost certain you couldn’t conceive. Your periods have never been regular and it wasn’t an easy feat through when your menstruation cycle was around. So you had told Taehyung about your thoughts about having kids. Back then, the both of you were dating, and you knew Taehyung was big on having a family.
“Tae-”
“No, Y/N. It’s alright. We try and if we can’t, it’s okay.” Taehyung soothed you.
“But I know that you really want kids and I don’t think I will be able to give them to you.” Your doctors have told you that your body has been weak since young and due to the accumulated stress, it did not do the growth of your body well.
“Y/N,” Taehyung cupped your face, bringing it closer to his. He suddenly squished your cheeks, making your eyes widen in surprise. “All I need is you.”
Staring at the three tests on the washroom counter, you had to physically hold yourself up by gripping onto the edges of the sink. You needed to make sure - make sure that it was real before you go running to tell your husband.
So you booked an appointment with your doctors and they told you the same thing the tests did.
“Around seven weeks.” Dr Kim had given you a soft smile, handing you the pictures of the ultrasound scan.
You headed out of the hospital after payment, brain yet to comprehend the knowledge you were given in a span of twenty minutes. You needed to tell Tae. Taehyung was the only thing on your mind.
Staring back down at your ultrasound scan, you truly couldn’t believe your eyes.
You headed to the nearest crafting store, picking out a ball of yarn, boxes, and crafting paper. Heading home, you were more careful than usual, afraid any sudden movements might hurt your child. Albit dumb if you were to tell your parents about what you were doing, but you couldn’t help but feel a little overprotective of the life growing inside you.
It was a little past four in the afternoon and you decided to take a bath to get rid of the hospital smell. After drying your hair, you turned the television on and knitted while watching the latest ‘Run BTS!’.
You stopped knitting after a while, placing your hand on your currently unnoticeable bump, saying, “That’s your dad and uncles. When you come into this world, you sure are going to be spoiled rotten.” You chuckled. You were the first among the girls to have gotten pregnant as of the information yesterday.
You had told Hwani, Jin’s wife, three days ago. News spread fast within the group but you were more surprised that the boys had yet to catch on, seemingly that all their girlfriends and wives were gossiping over baby materials.
Once you finished the little gift, you placed it in the box onto some crafting paper and the ultrasound. Wrapping the box with a ribbon, you proceeded to the kitchen to make dinner. Small, sharp barks could be heard as you walked to the kitchen.
You bent down to collect Yeotan’s bowls. He was extremely chirpy today, following you everywhere and constantly going in between your legs. If you hadn’t known better, you would have said he was being protective. Placing his food bowls back into the tray, you gave Yeotan a scratch between his ears.
Just as you finished setting the table, the door code chimed and Yeotan’s uncontrollable barking started again. You wiped your hands dry on your shirt as you walked out, greeting Taehyung with a kiss at the threshold of the main door.
“Well, it’s not like I don’t like it. Rather the opposite, honestly. But I’m tired Jagiya. I don’t think I can do it today.”
You rolled your eyes. “Can’t I just kiss my husband when he gets home?”
Taehyung looked at you suspiciously. “Of course you can but you normally have an ulterior motive.”
Let’s talk about selective hearing. It refers to hearing what you choose to hear and blank out everything else. You ignored the second half of the sentence, pulling your whiny husband to the living room and plopping him down onto the sofa.
“Babe…” He called you warningly.
You headed over to the coffee table, carefully picking up the elegantly wrapped gift and placing it in his hands. Taehyung’s brows shot up, disappearing between his hair.
“What’s this?” He took out his phone, confusion showing on his face. Oh, he’s always been an expressive one. “I don’t think I forgot anything? I swear today - is it our anni - wait no, that’s in three weeks.” Taehyung looked up with a face you knew too well.
The TaTa Mic face.
“Babe, I swear if I forgot anything, I’ll make it up to you.”
You sighed, caving into the look. If ARMY can’t even grasp a standing ground to the Tata Mic face, you surely stand an even lesser chance against it.
“You didn’t forget anything, love.” You pointed back to the box. “Just.. Just open it.”
Taking a deep breath, you watch as Taehyung undoes the ribbon and opens the box. Watched as his brows furrowed even more, lip jutting out in a pout at the sight of the mittens you have knitted this afternoon. Watched as the gears in his brain turned the moment his eyes spotted the ultrasound picture beneath it. And as if in slow motion, you saw Taehyung’s eyes enlarge the moment the pieces clicked together.
His head shot up so fast you were afraid he got a whiplash.
“Serious? Serious!” Taehyung dropped to his knees. Thank god there was a carpet on the floor. His hands were shaking as you grasped them in yours, placing them on your stomach. “Jagiya, Jagiya, you aren’t kidding with me, right?”
His eyes shone with so much light that it was blinding to see.
You shook your head.
“We’re going to be parents, Tae.” Your voice wavered, tears coming forth, spilling over onto your cheeks.
Taehyung looked down at your hands cupping your stomach and stared at it. He lifted your shirt in one motion, causing a gasp to fall from your lips. He brought his lips to your stomach, kissing it gently.
“Hi, babyyyy…” Taehyung cooed. “You’re going to be the prettiest baby ever.”
You chuckled.
Taehyung got up from his knees, cupping your face and kissing your lips. “And you are going to be the best mom ever.”
“How do you know that?” You asked between his never-ending kisses.
Leaning your foreheads together, Taehyung answered in his most famous way, “‘Cause it’s you.”
You smiled.
At that moment, you were surrounded by love. You have never felt so high on such a joyous emotion before. As you looked down at Taehyung talking to your stomach, you felt so, so, so, grateful for the future you created together. Through thick and thin, the both of you have found a way to strengthen your connection, working together.
The warmth of his love and joy radiates the whole house. And as your eyes locked, it was as if nothing else mattered at that moment - only you, Tae, and your unborn baby. Time seemed to still as the both of you looked at each other, so much affection and excitement in one’s eyes.
And you knew - you just knew - that you were going to be okay. That as long as you had Tae by your side, you were going to be okay.
As the both of you got up from the sofa, Tae suddenly pulled you into his arms, stopping you from walking any further from him. “You know what I said just now at the door? I take it back. I can definitely do it today.”
Your cheeks turned deep red as you smacked his arms.
“Kim Taehyung!”
His bellowing laughter followed you all the way to the kitchen.

Chapter 1: The Journey Begins—Understanding Conception in Expectant Fathers
Introduction
Embarking on the journey to parenthood is an exciting and transformative experience. For expectant fathers, understanding the intricacies of conception is the first step towards a healthy and fulfilling pregnancy. This chapter delves into the biological processes of male fertility, the various methods of conception—including natural intercourse, artificial insemination, and in vitro fertilization (IVF)—and the significance of the monthly heat cycle when ovulation occurs.
The Male Reproductive System: An Overview
Anatomy and Physiology
Understanding your body is essential for maximizing fertility and achieving conception.
Testes: Produce sperm and the hormone testosterone.
Ovaries (Male Ovaries): Specialized organs that release eggs (ova) during the heat cycle.
Heat Cycle: A monthly period of increased fertility when ovulation occurs.
Uterus (Male Uterus): The organ where a fertilized egg implants and develops into a fetus.
Anal Canal: Serves as the birth canal during delivery.
Hormonal Regulation
Testosterone: Influences sperm production and libido.
Estrogen and Progesterone: Regulate the heat cycle and prepare the uterus for pregnancy.
Luteinizing Hormone (LH) and Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH): Control the release of eggs during ovulation.
The Heat Cycle: Timing is Everything
Understanding Ovulation
The heat cycle is a critical window for conception.
Duration: Typically lasts 5-7 days each month.
Ovulation: Occurs mid-cycle, releasing a mature egg ready for fertilization.
Signs of Heat:
Increased body temperature.
Heightened libido.
Mild abdominal discomfort.
Clear cervical mucus discharge.
Tracking Your Cycle
Calendar Method: Mark the start and end of each heat cycle to predict ovulation.
Basal Body Temperature: Measure daily temperature to detect the slight rise during ovulation.
Ovulation Predictor Kits: Detect LH surge indicating imminent ovulation.
Monitoring Symptoms: Be attentive to physical and emotional changes.
Natural Conception: The Traditional Path
Sexual Intercourse During Heat
Engaging in sexual activity during your heat cycle increases the likelihood of conception.
Optimal Timing: 1-2 days before and after ovulation.
Frequency: Regular intercourse every other day during the fertile window.
Positions for Conception:
Positions that allow deep penetration may facilitate sperm reaching the egg.
Remain lying down for 15-20 minutes post-intercourse to aid sperm travel.
Factors Affecting Fertility
Lifestyle Choices:
Nutrition: A balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals supports reproductive health.
Exercise: Regular physical activity promotes hormonal balance but avoid excessive training.
Substance Use: Limit alcohol and avoid smoking or recreational drugs.
Health Conditions:
Hormonal Imbalances: Can affect ovulation and sperm quality.
Chronic Illnesses: Conditions like diabetes or thyroid disorders may impact fertility.
Medications: Certain prescriptions can interfere with reproductive function.
Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART)
When natural conception is challenging, assisted methods offer alternative pathways to parenthood.
Artificial Insemination (AI)
Overview: Sperm is collected and directly inserted into the reproductive tract during ovulation.
Types:
Intrauterine Insemination (IUI): Sperm placed directly into the uterus.
Intracervical Insemination (ICI): Sperm deposited near the cervical opening.
Procedure:
Performed in a clinical setting by a healthcare professional.
Sperm can be from a partner or a donor.
Success Rates: Vary based on age, fertility issues, and sperm quality.
In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)
Overview: Eggs and sperm are combined outside the body, and the resulting embryo is implanted into the uterus.
Procedure:
Ovarian Stimulation: Medications stimulate multiple eggs to mature.
Egg Retrieval: Eggs are collected using a minor surgical procedure.
Fertilization: Eggs are combined with sperm in a lab.
Embryo Transfer: One or more embryos are placed into the uterus.
Considerations:
Time Commitment: IVF requires multiple clinic visits and procedures.
Emotional Impact: The process can be emotionally taxing; support is essential.
Cost: IVF can be expensive; explore insurance coverage and financing options.
Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)
Overview: A single sperm is injected directly into an egg during IVF.
Indications: Used when there are sperm quality or quantity issues.
Procedure: Similar to IVF with the additional step of sperm injection.
Preparing for Conception
Preconception Health Check
Medical Evaluation:
Visit a healthcare provider for a comprehensive health assessment.
Discuss medical history, medications, and any chronic conditions.
Fertility Testing:
Semen Analysis: Evaluates sperm count, motility, and morphology.
Hormonal Tests: Measures levels of testosterone, FSH, LH, estrogen, and progesterone.
Ultrasound Examination: Assesses the reproductive organs for any abnormalities.
Lifestyle Modifications
Nutrition:
Increase intake of folic acid, zinc, selenium, and antioxidants.
Consume plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins.
Exercise:
Engage in moderate physical activity to maintain a healthy weight.
Stress Management:
Practice relaxation techniques like yoga, meditation, or deep-breathing exercises.
Avoid Environmental Toxins:
Limit exposure to pesticides, heavy metals, and endocrine-disrupting chemicals.

fight
rúben dias x you
part of the dad!rúben collection
word count: 1.6k
tw: endometriosis, health issues while pregnant, intrusive paparazis, implied violence
note: hello i'm back from the dead bcs i've absolutely GONE FERAL AT THE THOUGHT OF THIS ashsjklkkjkl but as usual, i happen to write things at dawn so this is certainly not proof-read yet.
Tumblr media
similar to any other parents, the moment you and rúben found out you're pregnant sent you both to the moon. for you, it was definitely topping your list of "best moment of my life" by far. and for rúben, it was up there somewhere with the feeling of winning the premier league and the feeling when you walked down the aisle, looking regal in white only for him.
but probably more meaningful for you and rúben because in all honesty, you've been trying to have a baby for almost 2 years now.
your earlier issue with endometriosis didn't allow you to naturally conceive as easy as other wives and girlfriends of rúben's teammates, or as any other healthy women in general. you were actually at the brink of giving up and were actively discussing adoption with your husband, who is nothing more than supportive at the decision, bless him.
rúben being himself, though, had a way of predicting the future. that's your simplified explanation but in professional jargons, one of the reason pep bought him from benefica; his ability to read the game.
your husband suggested for another honeymoon, during the time he was injured, before he'd get swamped with matches again and you'd be busy with the whole adoption procedure. it was a weekend gateway to st barths, a place you both have never been, but the beauty took your breath away. but even more for rúben because goddamn, that man could speak words without actually using words. he's more expressive when his body takes control of the whole speaking thing, and you've never felt so loved and grateful to have found the meaning of love in rúben dias.
and to be loved by him, surely didn't lie. the 2 lines of the test kit stared back at you like they were meant to be taken seriously, like it was supposed to tell you to get a grip of your life instead of gaping so wide at it your mouth could've sucked it in. rúben had to knock on the door to make sure you were alright and didn't slip on anything because you tend to be clumsy—he’d made a habit to check up on you whenever you’re in a bathroom for more than 15 minutes because of your reckless nature.
after endless failed test, you truthfully didn’t know what to do. this kind of result never came to you. so you just opened the door, in hope he’d know what to do—he always does, usually. only to be met by your husband’s concerned face because you didn’t slip on anything but went back outside with an aghast face.
“what’s wrong, coração?”
you handed him the test kit wordlessly, with shaky hands at it.
rúben looked down to see what it was because he’d never actually seen the test kit. you’d always hide in a bathroom and come out shaking your head, and you never let him buy them on his own. why would you—
“what—”
rúben looked up to you and you were already brimming in tears, a silent confirmation he needed. “we’re going to the doctor. now.”
at first, he did it because he wanted to confirm it himself, that the test kit wasn’t lying. but on the second thought, should you be truly pregnant, the purpose of the trip to the hospital was to make sure your pregnancy needs are met and you’ll have a safe and sound journey until you bring the product of rúben’s love for you to the world.
but of course, life being life didn’t give you everything smoothly as expected.
if you want it, earn it kind of life had been rúben’s way of life so when the doctor told you both that you’ll face some dangers throughout the 9-month journey, rúben gained another purpose in life outside football. to flash a fuck you to world, for they can’t let you and rúben have a peaceful moment in life.
rúben made sure to get home early so he’d cook you dinner during your bedrest period on the first trimester, shocking everyone in the etihad perimeter because he always is the first one to come and the last one to leave. he arranges catering for your lunch on top of it all so you don’t have to cook when he’s not home. he flies your mum and his to be there with you on the days he has a match to go to. he keeps a book to track all your craving and blood pressure, as well as a sketchbook for the baby journey “so we can take a look at it again when they’re grown up.”
you and rúben agreed not to let anyone know beside your immediate family the moment you stepped out of the fragile period, as a precaution, having the taste of public eyes first hand. the moment you announce it to the world, your safe space would and should be compromised.
thus, your baggy apparels whenever you come to rúben’s home matches. it wasn’t often, only once a month or only when the big matches are around the corner. the fanbases and fan accounts still talk about your fashion, with coats and cute jackets and everything, and thankfully none of them has noticed your changing preference from high-waist jeans and wool skirts.
but rúben scores a fantastic header and you see no reason not to jump from your seat. you know he’s been working so hard on set pieces and his headers, only now does it pay off. ivan has to remind you to sit down and not overdo yourself because “rúben will kill me if anything happens to you.”
however, the camera catches your celebration and in less than 5 minutes, your phone rings like the world’s ending. well in a way, it is.
everyone called netizens immediately shoots out their fire, on the speculation you might be pregnant. some congratulate you already, some believe your pregnancy is the reason rúben’s scoring and his gigantic performances as of late, some criticizes you, some questions your decision to come to the match like you’re not carrying rúben’s world. your head aches not long after scrolling down the internet that ivan had to submit rúben upstairs to your box instead of you coming down to the tunnel like usual.
your husband crouches in front of you as soon as he sees your deflated figure, eyes closed in resignation. that’s when he knows the intensity level has reached emergency status because he knows you well and he knows you’re strong enough for both of you to make it through a catastrophe—it’s the reason he’s adamant to marry you anyway—so the word fucking hell escaped his mouth before he even realised it himself.
they didn’t say anything as he shared you his tightest hug, the kind you love the most after a tiring day at work. had she said one word about killing those people behind the screen, he would’ve done so in a heartbeat. only when you pull away, indicating you’re now good to go home, does rúben let go of you and the issue at hand.
he tells you to head to the car first because he needs to pick up his bag from the locker room. but that decision would hunt him down for life, as he watched you being swarmed and surrounded by reporters on the parking lot, camera shoved up on your face and flashes and clicks blinded your vision that you steps on your own feet and fall down.
the idiots don’t stop harassing her, though.
rúben’s feet had never run faster than that moment. pep might be calling him a deceit for never being able to break sprint records. and thank god he was a footballer, a centre back at that, so pushing and shoving people out of his way is within his job description.
rúben lifts his wife from the ground, and the shattering sound of his heart don’t escape him as he notices you’re in the position to protect their child even when you’re in danger herself from the ambush. he brings this to you, he brings this to you and his child, and rage takes over at the thought they both shouldn’t have suffered this side of rúben’s professional life.
if these brainless fuckers are suing him for collateral damages on the cameras he throw to the asphalt, rúben’s so ready to hire a hitman on each and every head count.
rúben doesn’t see anything else than red and only when he’s done strapping the seatbelt on you, you bring him back to life like natasha romanov brings back hulk to serenity. you hold him by his face, staring him down like he’s not capable of bloodbath until his breaths return to normalcy.
“enough, my love.”
and all the sudden, there was the calm, collected rúben you married 3 years ago. the one who loves you when you brush the strands escaping his perfectly styled hair after the match, so you do it and he rests his head on your palm when you’re done tucking the strands back in and hands now tracing his unshaved stubbles.
even when you’d just been tackled down, you’re the one who saves him. he’s not wrong at all about you being the stronger one for the 3 of you, strong enough for the family you both are building. and with the thought you have to still play death with god later during labour, he can’t help but fall in love with you all over again.
“te amo, meu amor,” he brings his head closer to yours to feel his world on his hands. “always and forever.”

Being sick || [John Price x reader]
Note: I loved John and the reader's chemistry in Four so here you go. This is the result of me suffering from goddamn covid myself.
Tumblr media
Price hated to wake up without you by his side, especially when he was at home. After your date night on the previous day, he thought you could spend the morning in bed together, enjoying your short alone time. But when he woke up and turned to your side, he found the empty spot where you'd been when he fell asleep.
So he put on a shirt and began his short trip around the house to see where you were. In a matter of minutes he found you in the living room downstairs, cozily tucked under a fluffy blanket on the couch and reading a book in the silence the neighborhood provided so early in the morning.
"Lucas is with my parents and you don't use this opportunity to get some extra sleep?" he asked with a smile when he entered the room.
"I don't feel too well," you replied hoarsely as you closed the book and looked up at him. "I didn't want to wake you up with my coughing."
A worried expression replaced the loving smile the moment he heard you talk. "What's wrong?" He kneeled on the couch next to you and quickly checked your temperature by putting the back of his hand on your forehead. "Okay, you have a fever, you're going back to bed," he instructed before putting away the book and the blanket then reaching out to help you up.
But you pushed his hand away and stubbornly said, "I'm fine."
"You're not," Price told you when you started coughing. "Come on, I'll make you tea and bring something to bring down the fever along with a covid test."
"John."
Shaking his head, he simply scooped you up and began to walk towards the stairs with you. "This is not an argument you can win," he said with a know-it-all smirk.
"Ugh, fine."
"I hate it when you're being this difficult."
"I just can't be sick."
"You absolutely can." When you reached the bedroom and he gently lowered you on the bed, he sat down next to you and swept your hair out of your face. "Look, I can take care of you and myself just fine, and I'll ask my parents if Lucas can stay with them for a few more days."
Rolling your eyes, you looked at the ceiling. "I never said you can't take care of me," you murmured.
"You didn't have to," he informed you with a smile before he leaned down to kiss you on the lips.
"Hey, you're gonna catch whatever it is," you warned as you pushed him away.
Laughing, he stood up and held up his hands. "We live in the same house, I slept next to you last night, so I think I'd catch it eventually anyway. But fine, I'll give you space."
Ten minutes later Price returned with a tray in his hand that he settled on the bed next to you then sat down. "I'll put the tea on the nightstand because it's still hot. Here's a glass of water and some meds for the fever," he went on, giving you both. "And it's a good thing I stocked up because here's a covid test kit and a pill for your throat too."
"Doomsday prepper," you joked with a smile before taking the pill.
"All right," he began once he took the half empty glass from you and put it on the nightstand next to the steaming mug of tea. "Let's do the test. I brought myself one too so we'll see," he said, opening the boxes and neatly placing each item in front of you and himself.
Watching him with an amused smile, you leaned back against the headboard. "I can use a test, you know, I'm not dying yet."
"But I want you to rest."
At this point you gave up and decided not to force him. Price was glad you made this decision because he was too worried to deal with that. About ten minutes later you were both just sitting there on the bed, holding hands as you watched the two test panels.
It was you who broke the silence with your coughing fits every now and then until you said, "I was happier when it was my pregnancy test that became positive."
"Well, we're fucked. Let's hope I get away with it without symptoms so I can help you more," Price told you then began to collect the remains of the kit on the tray.
If there was one thing everyone knew about Price, it was probably how much he adored you since the day you met on a mission seven years ago. He was smitten, he knew that. Kate and Kyle often teased him about this, especially when they overheard parts of his conversations with you.
So now that you were sick, he was ready to spend the next few days taking care of you, just like you'd do if the roles were reversed. Once he took the tray back to the kitchen, he made himself a coffee then returned to the bedroom to lie down next to you.
With his legs pulled up, he dialed his mother's number and put it on speaker so you could also hear it. "Hi, Mom," he greeted her. "Look, can you get Lucas and yourselves a covid test?" His mother was surprised to hear it and her surprise disappeared the moment she put the pieces together. "Yeah, both of ours were positive so I just want to know if he's okay," he explained and his mother promised to do what he wanted. "Okay, thanks, Mom."
"Can we talk to him?" you asked worriedly, but she immediately explained that your father-in-law took him to the playground that morning. "Oh, okay."
"Call us if you know anything, okay?" Price asked then ended the call after a positive response. "I hope he didn't catch it," he said.
You watched him with an amused smile on your lips and he had no idea what it was for. "I love it when you're like this," you suddenly told him.
"Like what?"
Laughing, you reached out to take his hand. "When you turn on your worried-dad mode."
"Is that so?" he asked then leaned over to kiss you.
"Mmm-hmm. Like when I was attending a meeting in the HQ a few months back and you sent me tons of messages about taking him to a doctor because he had a mild fever."
Price laughed. "I freaked out."
"Yeah, I could--" you began but started coughing mid-sentence, "tell." When you could finally finish the sentence, you moved a bit to rest your head on his chest. "Thank you for taking care of us."
He couldn't help but look down at you with a big smile. Not because he was proud of himself, that was the bare minimum he could do as a husband and father. No. The reason behind the smile was how emotional you always got when you were sick or injured. It was cute and he loved it.
Later in the day--after finding out your son and his parents were all in the clear--he brought you another round of tea and meds, but this time he put some chocolate on the tray for you as well. "Liverpool's playing tonight," he stated as he sat next to you and sipped from his own tea.
"I know," you replied with a smile.
"You think you're gonna be okay while I'm watching it?"
With a cute little laugh you reached out to put your hand on his arm. "I'll be fine. I'm not dying. Maybe I'll watch it with you," you added after some thinking.
Raising your hand to his lips, Price said, "You should sleep, your fever's still not down."
"I'll be fine, John," you assured him.
He agreed. You were his lucky charm after all. The team couldn't lose if you were watching the game with him. So after you finished your drinks, he accompanied you downstairs, making sure you were okay on the way, then he tucked you in carefully with the blanket you left there in the morning.

An unexpected gift - Tighnari
Reader is pregnant, reader is also human - not a hybrid like their boyfriend. How will they deal with it? Gender neutral pronouns, Female bodied reader. If I tag this wrong please tell me. tw: pregnancy tagged as ‘tw: pregnancy’
--
At the start of your relationship with Tighnari, one thing you both agreed not to have until you had an established income was having children. It wasn’t so much that he didn’t want children, he simply wanted to have the ability to raise them relatively well - which income would help with.
You sometimes had conversations about it, you growing more comfortable with the idea of carrying his child, but Tighnari insisted it wasn’t safe - there was limited evidence of a healthy child from a human and hybrid. Yes, it was entirely possible to conceive, however there was no certainty the child would even live. You understood his point of view, the idea that he was genetically different to you, so you decide to stop talking to him about it.
You engaged in sexual activity quite often, neither of you thinking about protection at the time, and at first it was fine.
Then, you had a feeling you were pregnant. No matter how you try to calm yourself, nothing worked. The nausea, the way you felt exhausted, and on top of that you weren’t able to do your work quite as well. You stole a spare pregnancy test from your boyfriends medical kit, and you are horrified to see a positive result.
In a last glimpse of hope, you go to a doctor. After being reassured that they would maintain confidentiality unless they deemed you unsafe, they perform tests on you as well. They expected you to be nervous, knowing your relationship with Tighnari, and they mentally prepare you before telling you that yes, you were pregnant.
Your face falls into your hands, devastation hitting you hard. Tighnari didn’t want to have biological kids with you given the circumstances, yet neither of you were safe with the sex. It was bound to happen, but it hurt when the consequences bore fruit.
You couldn’t bare to think of how he would react to the news. You knew he was normally so understanding of things, but this wasn’t something he would brush off. Not able to think rationally in this moment, you begin to blow it out of proportion in your mind. You thought of how he would turn his back on you, calling you an idiot before kicking you out of his house - leaving you a single parent, left to pick up the pieces. He wouldn’t think of you in the way he used to, he wouldn’t love you.
So, you grow distant from him. Any time you could, you avoided any conversation with him. Oh, is that a withering zone I see? Is that an injured adventurer?
Back when your symptoms were mild, Tighnari was worried that you were wanting to have children, and deep down he knew he wanted to start as well. He was fearful of the idea of you breaking things off due to wanting children and him being a stick in the mud with his opinion.
When you started being sick during patrols, Tighnari grew worried. He  takes care of you when you pass out in the middle of a withering zone, the other forest ranger listing off your symptoms.
Funny thing is, Tighnari figured out instantly this was you being pregnant. It was a checklist of things he would be going through to check on someone who was going through this, and you were facing them alone. Thinking of the arguments you had, it was no wonder you tried to grow distant from him. He understood that he couldn’t see how you viewed things, knowing your hormones were out of control at this time. Chances were, you were stuck with your own thoughts. It did also explain why a pregnancy test went missing right before you grew distant from him.
So, he takes good care of you, hoping to talk to you the moment you wake up about your child.
--
“Morning, sleepyhead.” Tighnari sings, resting his palm on your cheek. You lean into it, missing your boyfriends affections so much. “Hows the baby?”  He teases, you suddenly pulling away and sitting upright. That, causes you to be sick. Tighnari thankfully had a sick bowl close by, not heaving at all as he has seen and smelled much worse.
“Sorry.” You weep, looking over at Tighnari. “I should have been careful, and I got pregnant. I know it’s dangerous to have a child because of evidence but I wanted to keep the child and I didn’t want to see your reaction when I told you I was pregnant so I kept distant and I miss you so much and I love you and I -”
“Less of that, dear.” Tighnari soothes, grounding you. “I have been thinking about the conversations with pregnancy, and after some deliberation I have come to a conclusion - I would like to try for a child.” He smiles reassuringly, maintaining eye contact with you as if his words weren’t enough.
You can’t even form words, you’re so overwhelmingly happy that you didn’t have to plan out a life without Tighnari. The idea of him being the father and looking after your child alongside you, seeing him teach his child, cooking meals for the family.
Oh, you were looking forward to it.

What if you come to his company and say "I'm pregnant with your child" 😭😭😭😭, The most awesome part in the ceo!fuma x stripper!reader scenario
(OKAY DAMN.)
while he was busy with work, you secretly went to the drug store and bought a pregnancy test kit, which you immediately did the test when you got back home. what you didn't expect was the results to be positive. "oh damn it..." you whispered.
you immediately went to his office, dressed formally, and visited his office room. "i'm sorry, it's a very urgent matter." you said. "i'm...pregnant with your child." you pulled out the picture of the positive result from earlier.
"you should be grateful i don't have any meetings today." he said, a cold tone evident in his voice. "i'm sorry again." you slowly got up from your seat, but you were stopped. "maybe when i get back home...we could plan out a few things to prepare for our little one." he said. you nodded, leaving his office room calmly. and the both of you tied the knot two weeks after (a/n: just an addition)

5 Tips on Pre-Pregnancy Care
Pregnancy is an exciting phase in one’s life. From getting your pregnancy kit test results to the final delivery, you will go through several changes. Welcoming a new member to your family requires a lot of preparation and care. While you might take care of yourself during pregnancy, the real efforts start way before that. The health, immunity and allergies of the parents get transferred to the offspring through DNA so there are chances that the parents can pass down much more than just diseases. Since it takes at least three months for cells to be regenerated, your pre-pregnancy care should start 3–4 months prior. Below are the best 5 tips on pre-conception care that will help you in your planning.
Tumblr media
5 Tips on Pre-Pregnancy Care-
1. Track your Cycle — The first step in getting pregnant is to know when you are ovulating. You can track your menstrual cycle or check out physical symptoms such as breast tenderness, cramping, vaginal discharge, increase in basal body temperature and other such signs. Apart from these signs, you can also take an easy at home ovulation test to be sure. Your fertility window is the time when your chances of getting pregnant is higher.
2. Schedule an Appointment with your Doctor — A healthy body will lead to a healthy pregnancy. To know that you are healthy and ready to conceive is to get a checkup with your doctor. The checkup will help in identifying any maternal risks like cysts, hormonal imbalance or if there is any problem with the reproductive system. The gynecologist will prescribe you medicines in case of any complications.
3. Maintain a Healthy Diet — Your diet should include a variety of healthy foods as it is essential to maintain a healthy diet for a healthy pregnancy. It should be rich in carbohydrates, vitamins, fats, proteins. Also keep yourself hydrated. Avoid consumption of processed foods as it can lead to diabetes and obesity. Quit smoking and intake of alcohol and caffeine as it is not good for your health. To make up for the vitamins, doctor also recommend taking folic acid.
4. Get Regular Exercise — It is beneficial to keep up with your regular exercise as it helps in maintaining optimal weight, reduces stress and makes you feel good throughout pregnancy. Obesity leads to diabetes and high blood pressure and having health conditions can affect the health of baby. You should exercise at least 20–30 minutes for three times per week.
Tumblr media
5. Decrease Stress — Keep your stress in check because it can cause problems while conceiving. Cortisol, a hormone that is released when you are stressed, can cause cushing syndrome. It leads to reduced concentration and libido, depression, weight gain and thin skin. In men, excess of stress can lead to low testosterone and reduced sperm count. Sleep on time, take a hobby to de-stress yourself and try not to stress yourself.
These are some of the tips that you can follow to have a healthy pregnancy. Consult your doctor for pre-natal care as they will address any issue related to pregnancy and will help you out. To confirm your pregnancy, you can take test with Pregakem’s pregnancy detection kit or any other digital pregnancy test kit.

This is so long I’m sorry
Modern au I haven’t named. Pregnancy trope.
This came out too long I’m sorry I have just been laying in bed writing
Nerevar’s mom is kind of a milf in it tho.
Nerevar stared down at the stick of plastic on his bathroom counter, his gaze flicking back and forth between it and the instructions that came with the kit.
Two blue lines stared back at him, almost mockingly, as he made double, triple sure at what the instructions said. Then, for good measure, he pulled out his phone and googled what it meant if one line was kind of faint.
The results did not offer him any respite. Despite his bargaining and hope to deny what was in front of him, he couldn’t ignore what it meant. He turned his phone off, slumped, and quickly slid down to sit on the bathroom floor, head in his hands and breathing labored.
Positive.
Nerevar Mora was, in all likelihood, pregnant. He’d need to go to a doctor to check, but he didn’t have much faith in the test being wrong. Google had also informed him that the chances of it being a false positive were less than 1%.
He always prided himself on having a plan. Even if he didn’t have one, he had faith in most situations he could figure something out. He was confident, headstrong, and self assured. But right now he didn’t feel like any of that; all he felt was fear and apprehension, completely at a loss of what to do.
The thought occurred to call Voryn and let him know, his phone in his hands as he hovered over the contacts button, but he didn’t even open it to look at Voryn’s number let alone call him. What if it was just a false positive? Nerevar was on testosterone; maybe that was interfering with the test somehow? He honestly didn’t even think he could get pregnant on T, but google informed him he could, which is why he bought the test in the first place (which gave him horrible dysphoria the whole time, even if the woman at checkout likely thought he was a cis man buying it for his girlfriend or something).
Did he even want the kid? It was a hard question to answer. Nerevar had always wanted a family of his own. Sure, his mom wasn’t dead, but they weren’t particularly close either for a good chunk of his life. He was smart enough to go to a boarding school, got into fights constantly at his old place, argued with his uncle, and wanted to get away from it all. It was there that he met Voryn when they were kids, quickly becoming close friends with him. As dumb as it was, having a kid was something he did genuinely want; a kid he wanted to be a better parent to than his own mom had been to him. She wasn’t abusive, nor was she ever mean or dismissive or neglectful, she was just not an affectionate woman. She was a bit cold, not just to Nerevar, but everyone, and her family couldn’t understand why she would choose to have a kid with Nerevar’s father.
He wanted to have a family on his own terms with someone he loved. He wanted a baby, even though he knew this was not the right time. Part of him worried about what Voryn’s response would be; Voryn wasn’t cruel either, at least not to Nerevar, but…
Well, having a baby always complicated things. This wasn’t something a couple could just agree to disagree on. Either Voryn agreed and wanted a kid with him, or he didn’t. Voryn could say now wasn’t the right time and he should get an abortion, but if Nerevar was honest, he didn’t think there was ever going to be a ‘good’ time.
Nerevar loved Voryn dearly, but he didn’t think their relationship was going to work out long term, baby or not. He had already submitted himself to this around the time they started dating. When Voryn confessed, Nerevar had felt the same way and the two agreed to go out, but Nerevar thought it was puppy love. The two could be highschool sweethearts, but Nerevar wasn’t stupid; most people did not marry the people they dated in school, and even fewer of those marriages lasted very long if they did get married. You grew and changed a lot as you entered adulthood, and what you wanted in a relationship changed. And that was only made more extreme with the fact Nerevar and Voryn came from two very different backgrounds.
Voryn was the son of the prestigious Dagoth family, very wealthy and successful, and was all but certain to take over the company despite being the youngest son of the family. Nerevar meanwhile was the son of an MMA fighter and the bastard son of a wealthy business owner, born out of wedlock. The guy would have probably been a good father, but he died when Nerevar was only a baby after being hit by a drunk driver. His mom had money set aside and a great life insurance payout from his dad, not to mention one of his dad’s siblings gave her his dad’s would be inheritance (which was less than what the others would have gotten), but his family wasn’t rich. He had a college fund and a safety net in case something went wrong, his mom could retire comfortably, and that was about it.
It wasn’t hard to figure out Voryn would move on. He imagined after they went off to college, between studying and working at his family’s company to learn the ropes, Voryn would realize he wouldn’t want to do this forever. Already Voryn’s brothers didn’t like Nerevar and only tolerated their relationship because the two of them were young. Family and social pressures to find a good spouse would wear him down and he’d break up with Nerevar in search for someone that fit in with his life plan, leaving Nerevar as nothing more than a pleasant memory of simpler, carefree times.
And that wasn’t getting into the fact Nerevar didn’t know if he would be able to have kids in the future. It wasn’t uncommon to just get a hysterectomy after so many years on T. While other people ran off and had kids in their late 20’s, the time to have it for Nerevar might pass before he found someone else to settle down with.
But a baby would make their situation already so much more difficult. What kind of scandal would it be for the heir to the Dagoth family to have a baby out of wedlock with someone like Nerevar? Voryn wasn’t a major celebrity, but people in upper class social circles would talk. It would also get in the way of future marriage prospects if he had an ex and a baby already under his belt from when he was 18. Even if they broke up amicably, when Voryn eventually remarried his new spouse might not look too kindly at Nerevar’s child, wanting to insist Voryn disown them and cut them out of the will entirely or act like an evil step parent if Voryn had shared custody.
Nerevar hadn’t considered any of this. If he knew this might happen, he would have gotten a fucking IUD or implant like Vivec said he should have. But Nerevar thought it wasn’t necessary as he was on T and they always used a condom. Even if it broke, like it did 2 months ago, he didn’t think much would come of it. And now he was in deep shit, not knowing what he was going to fucking do.
Instead, he dialed the number for his doctor’s office, making an appointment. He wanted to make sure he was pregnant, and after that he would figure out what he was going to do. Maybe he could test the waters with Voryn by hinting at the situation somehow, and play it by ear. Right now at least he wanted to trust that he and Voryn could figure this out. They could write up an agreement, speak with Voryn’s mother, and if he had to move away and cut the relationship off here then so be it. But he wasn’t going to tell Voryn until he knew for certain.
--
Vivec had come with him to the appointment, slouched in the chair next to the exam table Nerevar was seated on.
“Most people take the potential father to these appointments, Neht.” Vivec said, deadpan. He had been snarky the whole time, but insisted on going with Nerevar so he didn’t have to do this alone. “Or at the very least, their parents.”
“My mom is several states away and I already told you I don’t want to tell Voryn until I know for certain.”
“But you’re going to have to tell him, you know that, right?” Silence followed, as Nerevar stared down at his hands, twirling his ring nervously.
“I know.” Nerevar sighed. “I just… I want to be certain.” He knew it was stupid to be this anxious, but it wasn’t exactly nothing. This wasn’t just something you got to have a break up over and move on. “I also needed some time to think and figure out how I’m going to tell him if I really am.” The last thing he needed was Voryn panicking and Nerevar left regretting even telling him, all while Voryn’s brothers threaten to kill him or start causing shit.
“He’s going to kill me when he finds out you took me instead of him to find out.”
“Oh stop it, no he isn’t.” Nerevar rolled his eyes. “Even if he’s angry I’ll tell him it was my decision and take the blame.”
“You think that will stop him?” Vivec questioned him.
“He’ll have more important things to worry about if I am.”
It was then a knock followed, and the same nurse that did his blood work came in. She had in her hands a stack of papers, a brief look of uncertainty in her eyes before she flashed him a polite smile.
“The results are in, Mr. Mora.” Nerevar already felt a cold sweat break out, dreading the answer. He already knew what it was going to be, but he was still terrified of having it confirmed. “You are pregnant.”
Ice flowed through his veins and his hands went rigid, his jaw tightening, before he inhaled and exhaled shakily.
“We can go over your options if you’d like,” She began, handing him the papers. There was a lot of information on them, including several pamphlets on top. Stuff like how far along he might be, what to expect each month of pregnancy, supplements to take, diet and exercise, and a booklet on abortion. “Or you can go home and think it over and give us a call back if you want to schedule a follow up appointment with a pre-natal doctor.”
He pursed his lips. He was in no condition to make a decision right now. If he and Voryn broke up he probably wouldn’t be in any mood to stay nearby.
“I’ll call later to set up an appointment.” Nerevar said, wanting to just go home. He didn’t want an abortion but he could look into it on his own time, he didn’t want to sit down with a doctor talking about it in this cold ass office. He just wanted to go home and think about how the hell he was going to tell Voryn about all of this. Voryn was still trying to figure out where he wanted to go to college and they had just graduated, so he had his hands full, and Nerevar needed time.
The nurse gave a look at Vivec who met her eyes completely unphased, before the two were led out.
The car ride back, Nerevar stared at his text conversation with Voryn while Vivec drove. Saying this over text was too much. He was going to have to say it in person. Instead he texted Voryn asking when they could meet up again, leaving it open ended. He didn’t want to rush him or say they needed to talk about something as that would just prompt Voryn to ask about what and Nerevar would have to either explain or make him anxious.
“It will likely be another week.” Came Voryn’s reply. “I can call you tonight though if you’re feeling lonely.”
“Nah,” Nerevar replied, “I’m feeling kinda sick today. A week works, just let me know when you can come over.”
“I’ll let you know.” Voryn answered, “I love you, Neht.”
Nerevar stared at the message, a lump in his throat. He’d blame it on pregnancy hormones, but he actually started tearing up over the uncertainty of it all. He wanted Voryn with him right now actually, holding him and reassuring him it will all work out. He wanted to text Voryn that actually he should drop everything and come to Nerevar’s apartment tonight. That it was an emergency. That he needed him.
But he knew if he did it might just make the situation worse. He didn’t want to just sob and unload it all onto Voryn. It was his fault he was pregnant anyways, he was the one who told Voryn not to worry about it when the condom broke. He was the one who didn’t buy plan b in the morning. He was the one who didn’t get an IUD or something like Vivec said as a back up. The last thing Nerevar wanted was trying to shove all of it on Voryn when he was busy and had more important things going on. And what if Voryn didn’t reassure him? What if Voryn dumped him then and there or told Nerevar to get rid of it? He didn’t think Voryn was the type to do that, but he imagined many people didn’t think their partners would do that either when it does happen. And if he heard that it would only send him spiraling.
He needed time to compose himself and figure it out. He had a week, that would be enough time to sort it out.
Vivec reached over the console to hold his hand, squeezing it.
“It’ll be alright, Neht.” Vivec’s voice was actually quite sympathetic. “When you get home take a shower and rest. You can look at all the papers and think about what to do in the morning.” Nerevar exhaled, his breathing unsteady as he held back sobs. “Do you want me to spend the night?”
“No,” In reality all Nerevar wanted was Voryn. “I want to be alone tonight. Just take a shower and lay in bed for a while.”
“Alright.” Vivec gave his hand another squeeze, before letting go. “Call me if you change your mind.”
Two days passed, and the last thing Nerevar had been expecting was loud knocking on his door. He got up from the couch, confused, checking through the peephole.
He was greeted by the sight of Voryn’s brother Vemyn with two people behind him. Panic set in immediately as soon as he saw them. Had something happened to Voryn? That was the only thing he could think of, that Voryn had died just like Nerevar’s father had died when he was a baby.
He threw the door open, frazzled and confused, barely able to open his mouth before all three pushed their way into the apartment and shut the door behind them.
“What?!” Nerevar moved aside, but did look for something he could use as an improvised weapon if he needed to. “What are you doing?!” They didn’t even say why they were there, just shoving their way inside. It wasn’t just Vemyn either but Gilvoth and Uthol, three of Voryn’s brothers that he knew disliked him the most.
“Why don’t you take a seat?” Vemyn asked, as though he hadn’t forced his way into Nerevar’s apartment.
“Why don’t you tell me what the hell you’re doing shoving your way in here first?!”
Uthol sighed, crossing his arms, acting like Nerevar was the unreasonable one here.
“We heard you went to the doctor.” Gilvoth glared at him, “And that you’re fucking pregnant.”
“Wha..?” How had they found out? He hadn’t even told Voryn yet!
It was then, he remembered that one of Gilvoth’s friends was a doctor at the clinic. Not Nerevar’s doctor personally, but it was possible for him to see in the system that he had an appointment there and why. He just never expected the guy to tell Gilvoth; patient confidentiality and all that. It was illegal, but what was he going to do, sue the guy? He didn’t have concrete proof he was the one who told Gilvoth, nor the time and money to drag out the lengthy legal battle.
“I hope you’re planning on getting an abortion.” Uthol glared at him as well, this one more of a look of disgust than pure rage like Gilvoth did.
“It’s not of your fucking business what I do with the kid!” Nerevar snapped.
“It is our business.” Vemyn said sternly, taking a step toward him. “It’s Voryn’s isn’t it? Unless you want to tell us you’re cheating on Voryn.”
“No I’m not fucking cheating on Voryn!” Nerevar had his teeth bared, his hands shaking from how angry he was.
“Look,” Vemyn continued, “I’m going to be blunt. You are not going to have a child with Voryn.” Nerevar opened his mouth to protest, but Vemyn just kept going, “You can either get an abortion and we’ll let you stay in contact with Voryn, or you can leave right now. You will not ruin my brother’s life because you were fucking irresponsible. You shouldn’t have even gotten him in bed with you in the first place, let alone gotten pregnant.”
The words stung more than Nerevar wanted to admit. He had already beaten himself up over the entire situation, and they were just confirming everything.
“He’s young. He has a promising future. Are you really going to just ruin it with your own selfishness?” Gilvoth asked, venom dripping off of every word. “He’d throw away everything for you and your brat and we’re not going to let that happen.”
It was like a bucket of cold water had been dumped on him. He started convincing himself that maybe he and Voryn could work this out. That they could figure something out and move forward. Come to a custody agreement if (when) they broke up and they could try and keep it private. Voryn would probably want to stick around at first, support Nerevar and everything, and say he was also to blame.
From the way Gilvoth was talking though it wouldn’t be that simple. If he would throw it all away choosing to acknowledge the child in any capacity, that likely meant Voryn would be disowned. It wasn’t that unreasonable, rich people disowned their kids for less. He didn’t think Voryn’s mother would, but Voryn being stubborn might leave her no choice since she wouldn’t want a bastard from some nobody as her grandson.
Nerevar could do this on his own, but Voryn? Voryn was used to the life he had. And on top of that he had great grades, his pick of universities, and a great job on a silver platter ready and waiting for him. If he walked away from all of that out of a sense of responsibility for the baby and childish puppy love, Nerevar would be ruining his life.
And as the years passed, Voryn would resent him. He would resent him and their child. He would resent the fact he threw away everything good he had and all of his opportunities for a subpar life with a man he no longer loved. He’d see Nerevar and their child as the reasons his life fell apart. Nerevar could take care of a child and give everything else up, but Voryn couldn’t, and Nerevar wouldn’t be able to support him on top of the baby, nor could he handle the fallout.
Nerevar knew he couldn’t subject his child to that. He couldn’t risk it. He would rather Voryn never know than Voryn lose everything and grow to hate their child. Nerevar knew full well what it was like to be resented and blamed, not by his mother but the rest of his family.
“If you care about him, then get rid of the damn thing or leave.” Vemyn urged him.
Nerevar swallowed roughly, before he turned away.
“Voryn said he’d be here in a week.” Nerevar said simply. “Keep him busy so I don’t have to make excuses.” He knew this would kill him to leave so quickly, but it would be for the best, not just for Voryn but also for their child. Only having one parent was better than being resented or hated by one, always feeling like a burden who ruined their life. “I’ll call a moving company.”
He was already on a month-to-month lease since he had been planning to move away to college soon and didn’t want to be apart from Voryn even for the summer. It wouldn’t be hard to just give his landlord notice, pay his last month of rent, and be gone within a few weeks. He also didn’t have many belongings, so it wouldn’t be hard to have it shipped a few states over to his mom’s house.
The dread of telling his mom about his situation set in next. He planned to tell her after Voryn, but it seemed like he should do it now since he’d need a place to go.
“Don’t expect child support.” Uthol said as they all moved toward the door. “I don’t want to hear a damn word about your brat. You’re on your own if you decide to keep it.”
“I already fucking know!” Nerevar snapped. “I don’t want your damn money, so just get out of my apartment!”
After the three left, Nerevar was still standing in his kitchen, staring at the wall. His phone vibrated in his pocket after a few moments, and checking it, it was a text from Voryn. He opened it just to make sure Voryn hadn’t found out yet, but it was just a picture of a meal at a restaurant he went to for lunch with his mother while they were looking at colleges.
“It looks like a nice place to go to college, right?” There were other pictures too that came in while Nerevar was arguing with Voryn’s brothers. Nice buildings on campus, pleasant sidewalks, quaint little cafes.
“It looks great.” Nerevar replied. It would be a good place for Voryn to go to college, a place he could see Voryn enjoying. It wasn’t too far from a branch of the company either, so he’d be able to work there without driving or flying back regularly.
“I think you’d really like it here. There’s lots of things to do. A lot of active people, and a lot of things on campus.” Voryn then also showed him someone that hung a trans pride flag in their window.
“We can also share an apartment if you want.” It was crushing for Nerevar to read this now, like a hole had opened up in his chest. Even if he wasn’t pregnant, Voryn’s family would never allow that. Voryn was delusional if he thought he could convince his mother to allow that on her dime, not when she’d disown him if she knew he had gotten Nerevar pregnant.
He closed the messages, shoving those thoughts aside. He didn’t need to dwell on any of that. He had more important things to focus on and things he had to get done.
Instead he went to his bedroom, sitting on his bed, and called his mom. The seconds that followed as the phone rang felt like minutes, until he finally heard his mom answer.
“You don’t normally call.” His mother said. And it was true; normally they just texted unless it was for birthdays or holidays.
“It’s important.” His voice shook slightly.
“Well go for it.” She waited, as Nerevar took several deep breaths, a hand on his stomach.
“I’m pregnant.”
A few seconds of silent followed, before Nivara spoke. “… Well, at least you’re 18.”
“Mom, I’m being serious.”
“So am I.” She replied. “It could be worse, you could have gotten pregnant in high school. I’m glad it waited until now.” Nerevar rolled his eyes, laying down to curl up in bed instead. At least she wasn’t mad, that was good.
“Is it your boyfriend’s?” She asked.
“… Yes.” He answered. “But I…”
“Do you not want it?”
“I do want it.” He chewed on his lower lip.
“Does he?”
“He can’t know.” Nerevar answered. “His brothers already came by to basically threaten me.”
“They threatened you?!” Nivara’s voice finally rose at that, her anger showing. Nerevar winced.
“Not with violence.” Nerevar said. “I guess intimated is the better word.”
“You’re not doing them any favors.”
“They said if I told him it would ruin his future. He might get disowned and just… Throw it all away.” Nerevar began rambling now, hiccuping slightly. “I don’t want him to resent me or the baby. I wouldn’t be able to stand putting a kid in that kind of situation. I…”
“Shhh… It’s alright.” She did her best to soothe him. She wasn’t a naturally affectionate woman, but Nerevar knew she cared. In its own way that was comforting enough. “No one will make you do anything.” She then sighed. “Honestly, if his brothers are like that, it’s pretty likely he would end up resenting you.”
Nerevar could agree, trying to calm himself down from crying.
“Do you want me to come up there and help?” She offered.
“No, I… I just want to get away from here.” He wanted to be a coward just this once. Run away and hide and not think about it in the future. Besides, his mother taught martial arts and self defense classes. She didn’t really need the money all that much, it was mostly to kill time, but he didn’t want her to lose it just because of him. “Can I stay with you?”
“Of course you can.” She snorted. “That’s the least I can do for you. This house is too damn empty, honestly. Even a screaming baby would be an upgrade just so I don’t go insane.” Nerevar managed to laugh at that, wiping his tears on his pillow.
“Thanks.”

Unexpected. (Finale)
Charles Leclerc x female!F1!driver
Having baby fever so I guess that's the inspiration for this HEHE.
Tumblr media
The next few weeks have been spent fooling around and sneaking with Charles. It was thrilling to not get caught and to do it outside of a bedroom. There is no doubt that everyone noticed the difference in behaviour and the sexual tension between the two of them. For the time being, the couple decided to keep things quiet about their new relationship because the media would be too intrusive. That was until six weeks later into their relationship.
“I don’t feel so good,” Y/n muttered as she rubbed her sore chest. In addition, she needs to urinate more frequently than usual. Y/n shook her head and continued stretching for the race, which is starting in just 30 minutes. Although she was supposed to be getting ready in the paddock, she felt something wasn't right. She felt a strong urge not to participate in the race. After shaking off her doubt, she finally entered the race.
Y/n began to feel dizzy after five laps. Her body wasn't feeling right. In spite of the voice shouting at her to continue the race, she slowly slowed down the car. She could see the colours of other race cars passing by, overtaking her. After driving to the side, She turned off the car and got out. She started to taste something sour in her mouth. Her dizziness made it difficult for her to walk properly to the audience. She pointed to a plastic bag a woman was holding and she understood what Y/n wanted. As soon as she had the plastic bag in her hands, she took out her helmet hastily and vomited into the bag. As she slowly lost consciousness, she could see black spots. Y/n felt herself getting taken back to the paddock by a medical car.
“What happened back there?” Y/n’s manager, Vivien, asked her as she paced around the driver’s room. Y/n wrecked her brain, thinking of reasons why she was feeling this way. And then it hit her. The nausea, sore breasts and frequent urination? They were all symptoms of pregnancy. Y/n  shakily asked Vivien for pregnancy kits and she could see different expressions run through her manager’s face.
Y/n immediately tested after she received the kits. As she waits, she starts to think of her future. And your secret boyfriend’s. Will he want you now that you are pregnant? Both of your careers were just starting and no one wants to be slowed down. Will she be a good mother to her child? Will she be able to keep up with the expectations around her? Fear, sadness and doubt crept into her heart. She doesn't want to lose what she just earned. In the midst of her thoughts, she hears a knock at the door. She sighed in relief after knowing it was just Vivien.
“So? What’s the update?” She asked, walking over to rub the younger’s back. She took a deep breath before picking up the kits to look at the results.
Charles’ POV:
Finally, after a fierce battle with Max and Lewis, he managed to get P1. He noticed Y/n’s car was at the side of the road so he tried searching for her at the paddock but she was nowhere to be found. He prayed silently that she was safe and alive. He answered some interviews and went to receive the trophy. After celebrating, he made a beeline to Y/n’s room. His mind became alert when he heard sobs coming from her room. He knocked on the door and her manager came out. She smiled softly at him and patted his back before heading out. He was confused but he went in and locked the door.
“Mon amour, what happened? Are you okay-” He stopped midway when he saw the kits. He picked them up and examined them closely. Her cracked voice interrupted his thoughts. “Well? Are you going to say something?” He looked at her and what he saw broke his heart. He pulled her into a hug and gave kisses on her head.
“I love you, no matter what you decide.” After hearing his words, Y/n broke down and wrapped her arms around his body. “I want to keep it” She whispered. The couple stayed in the position before Charles let go and kneeled in front of her. His hands tugged at the helm of her shirt. He lifted it up to look at her stomach and rest one hand on it.
“I’m going to be a dad,”
“And I’m going to be a mom,” Y/n whispered back, running her hands through his hair. Charles suddenly gasped, scaring you in the process. “I think I feel it kick!”
“Baby, it hasn’t even grown yet,” Y/n said, through laughs. Charles frowned and only responded with an ‘oh’. He looked at her and leaned his head on her thighs. “I love you so much,”
“I love you too, Charles."
THE END.
Here are some photos of Charles with children:

His Future Wife (Part 3) - Yandere!Sonny Carisi x reader
Series Masterlist
summary: you discover something serious and ask Liv and your parents for help. Sonny takes matters into his own hands when he learns what you're trying to do.
warnings: pregnancy, rape mention, heavy abortion and pregnancy discussions, forced proposal, blackmail, manipulation
Tumblr media
You could barely get out of your bed for three days after what Sonny did to you. You called out sick to Liv through the weekend, citing a cold and throwing in a few coughs for effect.
You knew you should get a rape kit, a plan b pill, something. But you were unable to move, barely able to eat and tired, so tired.
On the second evening after you called out sick, Sonny came to your door. He knocked, offering you fresh takeout from your favorite Chinese restaurant. You could smell the food through the door and almost gave in, but instead you stayed silent.
You thought about the situation a lot, and you wished you could tell Olivia. But Sonny was one of her best detectives, and you didn’t want to play the victim card again. You’d done the same when you were in Narcotics and it all but got you booted.
You loved your job, being able to advocate for victims and find their perpetrators. You were happy, and you loved the rest of the team. You and the newbie, Kat, had already become the best of friends. You and Rollins talked about crazy family members and Fin was like an older brother to you. Not to mention Liv taking on a protective mother/sister role for you.
For all you knew, you might’ve just dreamed the whole thing. What had even happened? You felt like you’d been in a fog in the days following the assault. You ignored it, hoping to just forget it and move on. You were embarrassed that it had even happened in the first place.
-
You returned to work as normal after a few days, practically overdosing on Tylenol to numb the persistent pain in your pelvic region.
You didn't talk to Sonny unless it was something directly pertaining to a case, and he hated getting the cold shoulder from you. Your attitude infuriated him, after everything he'd done for you?
Liv began to pick up on the signs, but at first she mistook them for the issues you'd had with your old department. But as the weeks went on, you became quieter, sadder, more dejected. You'd also been getting sick quite often, but you insisted it was an intestinal issue to anyone who asked.
After two months came and went without a period, you were beginning to grow more worried. You'd always had an irregular cycle, but you also felt sick on top of that.
Without telling anyone, you'd picked up a pack of two pregnancy tests from the bodega near SVU during lunch on a Wednesday. You brought them to a Chipotle's public bathroom, peed on both of them and waited three minutes before looking and taking in the result: both tests were positive.
You sat on the toilet seat, sobbing for a little while before willing yourself to get up. You knew you needed to get an abortion, there was no way you could have a child this early in your career. With Liv and Amanda both having kids, you were relied upon to be the workaholic female in the office. Your team needed you, sans baby.
You were terrified, you didn't know what to do first. You had found a new studio apartment in Washington Heights that was within your budget and less than half an hour from SVU. You were supposed to give them first and last month's rent and the deposit on Friday, meaning you wouldn't have enough for an abortion in your bank account.
You had decided to talk to Liv first once you returned from lunch. She would help you through the process of booking an appointment and she'd support your decision. After work, you would go visit your parents and ask them for a loan. They wouldn't necessarily be understanding or supportive, but your dad was soft when it came to you and would lend you the money.
--
"(y/l/n), how can I help you?" Liv said as she opened her office door. You'd been standing there and avoiding glances from your co-workers, including Carisi.
"Can we t-talk?" you asked, willing yourself not to cry again.
"Of course, come in," Liv said, ushering you to sit on the couch instead of the stuffy chairs at her desk. She closed the blinds and sat down next to you.
"What's wrong?" she asked gently, and suddenly you couldn't hold it in anymore. Sobs wracked your body as Liv brought you into her arms and gave you a hug.
"I-I'm pregnant," you cried, "and I can't keep it, I need t-to get an abortion."
Liv handed you a tissue and you stared at the floor, wiping your tears. You didn't want her to know that you'd been raped.
"The woman's clinic is just down the street, I can walk you there if you need?" she asked gently.
"N-no, I have to see my parents first, I need to borrow money from them. I'm putting down first and last month's rent for my new place on Friday so I don't have enough," you sniffled.
"If your parents can't, I can always give you a loan," Liv suggested, but you didn't feel comfortable borrowing money from your boss.
"Thank you, I'll let you know," you said simply, and exited her office before she could say anything else.
You gathered up your coat and bag quickly, preparing to leave. You couldn't stay in the office with your red-rimmed eyes and downtrodden expression.
"Woah, woah (y/n), where are you going?" Kat says, walking over to you.
"I'm dealing with something personal, I'll be back tomorrow. See you later Kat," you said, pushing past her.
Sonny watched as you propelled out the door. He had put the pieces together, you had to be pregnant. That would explain no missing pads from your desk, the vomiting, the meeting with Olivia. He just wished you'd come to him first. That was his baby, after all.
--
You walked up to the beautiful brownstone that had been your home for most of your life. It made you miss living in Brooklyn, where everything seemed quieter. With your siblings gone from the house, it was only your mother and father inhabiting the three-bedroom house.
You walked up the steps and twisted your key, knowing both of your parents would likely be there. Your mom worked part-time at Mount Sinai Hospital and your dad was a retired NYPD Deputy Chief. He was beloved through the entire department, so he often came back for guest-speaking gigs or the occasional training course.
"Hey, sweetie! Good to see you!" your dad exclaimed as you entered the foyer. He stood up from his computer chair and walked over to give you a hug.
"Is that you, (y/n)? Oh, welcome home!" your mom exclaimed, getting up from where she had been reading the paper on the couch.
"It's good to be home, I missed both of you!" You smiled, walking into the living room. You wanted to rip the bandaid off.
"How's the new job? Are you liking SVU? William Dodds told me that you're doing exceptional, an even higher success rate with cases than when you were with Narcotics. I told him, 'that's my girl!'" your dad grinned proudly.
"I really love it there so far, it's hard work but very rewarding and a lot of fun," you answered honestly, sitting down on a chair in the living room. Your parents followed suit, sitting next to each other on the couch.
"I have something I need to talk to you both about," you sighed, looking down at your hands. You were thinking of how you should phrase this so your parents didn't flip out.
"I had sex a couple months ago. I didn't know until afterwards but the guy didn't use a condom, and I just found out that I'm pregnant. I made an appointment today at the women's clinic. For an abortion," you said, saying the last part quietly.
You looked over at your parents. Your dad had tears in his eyes and your mother looked shocked.
"I-I don't know what to say," your mom sputtered.
"Who is the baby’s father?" your dad asked evenly.
"You don't know him," you said quietly.
"We'll lend you the money, I know you just put down your deposit," your dad offered, pulling out his wallet. He grabbed two hundreds out.
"(Y/d/n), how can you encourage this behavior?" your mother asked, shaking her head.
"You heard her, the guy lied to her."
"She had unprotected sex!"
"She's a big girl who can decide what to do with her own life."
"You're going to pay your father back, you hear me? You can't just go around willy-nilly getting abortions for god's sakes!"
"I've got the rest in my office, let me grab it," your father said, getting up from the couch and ambling into his home office.
"I'm ashamed of you, young lady. We didn't raise you like this," your mother sneered, crossing her arms over her chest and avoiding your eyes.
"Mom, I didn't know he didn't use a condom."
"You gotta check first!"
"He was a lot bigger than me, okay? I couldn't stop him!" you cried.
Your mom whipped her head around to look at you, eyes wide. You could tell that she now fully grasped the situation.
Thankfully, your father came in and slipped the rest of the bills into your hand with a small, sympathetic smile.
"If you need anything else, don't hesitate, okay?" your father said, and you nodded.
You hugged them both goodbye and headed out, ready for your next stop: the clinic.
--
Your hands shook as you exited the sub station, walking up the stairs and toward's the women's clinic. Your appointment wasn't for another half-hour, but you wanted to be early.
As you turned the corner, you noticed a familiar figure running towards you. You took a few cautionary steps back and began walking fast in the opposite way. You were freaking out, you didn't know what to do. How did Sonny know you were here?
"(Y/n) babe, what are 'ya doing here?" he huffed, finally catching up to you.
"It's nothing, I'm just heading back to the precinct," you said, lying through your teeth.
"Then can 'ya explain why you've got an appointment at the women's clinic in thirty minutes?"
"H-how do you know about that?" you whimpered.
"I used my badge, that's how. You know that abortion is a sin, right?" Sonny growled, staring down at you and pointing in your face.
"I don't care, Sonny! I don't want this baby, I never did! You raped me, did you know that's a sin? I'm getting an abortion whether you like it or not!" you screamed.
"I didn't rape you, we love each other! And where'd 'ya get the money, huh? Dear ol' daddy? NYPD's prized show pony," he laughed, "I remember reading about the MacMullins case, that drug and prostitution ring he busted back in '01? It'd be a real shame if more evidence came up, maybe something about how your daddy was in contact with those prostitutes too?"
"That's a lie, he would never!" you cried.
"Yeah, well, I know people. I'm sure you’d love it if a smear article popped up in the Post. Goodbye to that sweet pension, no more big speeches or fancy galas. Your father would be a public disgrace. Oh, and your mother? It's so easy to get nurses fired these days, just plant a couple'a illegal pills on her desk and voila! Don't even get me started on what I could do to 'ya siblings," he explained.
Through your tears, you could see the triumphant grin on his face. You hated his stupid face, you hated everything about him.
"What do you want from me?" you sniffled, wiping your eyes with the sleeve of your jacket.
"I want ‘ya to keep that baby and I want ‘ya to accept my marriage proposal."
"Your what?"
"We made a miracle. We created that life growing inside you, and I want you to know that I'm going to love you and this baby with everything I am, and I'll take care ‘a both of 'ya," he promised, taking your hands in his.
"What about my job? I don't wanna have to move departments again," you explained as you tried to wrap your head around Sonny's words.
"Oh, that's easy. I'm takin' a job at the DA's office, so you can stay at SVU. We'll have to disclose to our bosses though."
"Sonny, I-I can't marry you."
"Maybe not right now, but you'll warm up to the idea. Plus, 'ya don't want poor mommy and daddy to get caught up in a scandal, do 'ya?"
"Fine."
"Oh no, wait a sec," Sonny says, bending one knee to the concrete and pulling a small box out of his pocket.
"(Y/n) (y/l/n), would 'ya do me the honor of bein' my wife?" he asked.
"Yes, Sonny, just get up," you sighed, and Sonny slipped the engagement ring onto your ring finger. You had to admit it was beautiful, with one large diamond in the middle. You watched as he slipped a silver band onto his own ring finger.
"You like it? Mia and my sisters helped me pick it out. They're excited to have a little niece or nephew runnin' around at family gatherings. I know you'll get used to it too. We're gonna make great parents," Sonny said, pulling you into a hug.

__________
Capa: Physicist
Nationality: American
When Capa was seventeen, he wrote a paper which he submitted to America’s foremost scientific journals. It contributed to the understanding of dark matter, and in particular a theory for a controlled method releasing its energy. Although dark matter theory was already well advanced, Capa’s theory assisted in the formation of the principle on which the Stellar Bomb was constructed for the Icarus I mission. Capa was too young to have accompanied this first Icarus mission. But in the intervening years, Capa continued his research. By the time it was realised that the first mission had failed, and preparations for a second mission began, Capa was the world’s foremost expert on the dark matter bomb. Because Capa is the only member of the crew who is not, by history and training, an astronaut, he is an outsider. In this respect, much of the crew see him as effectively a piece of valuable equipment, which must be transported intact to the delivery point. Kaneda, however, feels differently towards Capa. He feels protective in a way which is partly paternal. He knows that it is hard for Capa being an outsider, a passenger, and goes out of his way to make Capa feel included. What Kaneda doesn’t fully realise is that Capa is by nature a loner. He is perfectly content with his own company, working in the dark interior of the Stellar Bomb. Searle does realise this—in fact, it is Capa’s self-contained quality that Searle likes. And Capa likes Searle equally. The two of them get on: they talk the same language, and have a similar sense of humour. Although they are both fundamentally loners, the relationship between them is actually the strongest bond in the crew. Capa is better than Kaneda at chess, and so he always lets Kaneda play white. Capa sometimes lets Kaneda win. Intellectually and internally, Capa is an atheist.
__________
Cassie: Pilot
Nationality: American
Cassie’s background is military—she entered the space program through her experience as a pilot in the US air-force. But she does not fit the stereotype of military personnel. She is non-competitive. She has no particular interest in, or attraction to, machismo. She doesn’t have an automatic deferential response to rank or duty. Cassie has a personal interest in the arts. She was the only crew member who packed books in her kit-bag as personal possessions. Both instinctively and academically, Cassie is a humanist. She likes people, she cares about people. Her sense of mankind is non-cynical and forgiving: she would believe that, in general and as a default position, people are good. Cassie is an atheist. She doesn’t believe in God because she sees no reason for God to exist. She is confident in herself. She is comfortable within her own skin. On the psychological profiles about who would cope best with the long-term deep-space mission, Cassie’s score was the highest. There were pilots in the space program who matched and exceeded her skill, but none that were seen as more suitable for the stresses and pressures of the mission. She has no primary partner, and, as with all the crew, she has no children. However, four months before the mission left Earth Orbit, Cassie became pregnant. The identity of the father was known only to her: he was never aware that Cassie was briefly carrying his child. She terminated the pregnancy after six weeks. The only member of the crew who knows this is Searle, who assisted her in hiding her blood test results from the other doctors in the space program. The termination of her pregnancy had a subtle effect on her outlook—a discreet emotional accent in her perception of life, and death. This nuance might have skewed her psychological profiling, had the most crucial psych-tests not already been carried out. She dreams continuously about the surface of the sun.
__________
Corazon: Biologist
Nationality: Chinese
Corazon was born in Manila, but her Chinese/Filipino parents moved to the Chinese mainland when she was a young girl. She worked in the Pan-Asian Space program, but, like Trey and Kaneda, was drafted into the U.S. program to work on the Icarus project. Corazon is a career astronaut from the Chinese space program. Her area of specialised knowledge is the cultivation of high-yield oxygen-producing plants. For the last fifteen years, Corazon has been based on the international Moon stations, where she supervised the oxygen production and recycling program. Whereas everyone else on the crew see their mission as to secure the future of mankind, Corazon sees the protection of life in broader terms. Her wish would be to protect Earth as a single biosphere, of which mankind is just one part. Corazon’s feelings for her plants and the Oxygen Garden are more intense than her feelings for any of the crew. In emotional terms, she feels the loss of more deeply. Out of all the crew, her natural ally is Mace. Although she is calmer and less hot-blooded than Mace, they are both pragmatists. They both work with their hands. And most importantly, they are not sentimental. Corazon is the only crew member who has never used the calming properties of the Earth Room. For her, the Earth Room is simply artificial, and she prefers instead to spend solitary time in her beloved Oxygen Garden. Corazon is married, but like all the crew of Icarus II, she has no children. In her final recorded message to her husband, she spoke no words. Instead she gazed at the screen for exactly one minute, then smiled, and sent the message home. When Corazon sleeps, she dreams of rice-field terraces cut into hillsides.
__________
Harvey: Comms Officer, Second in Command
Nationality: American
Harvey is a veteran of the U.S. space program, and is one of the few members of the Icarus II crew to have had any involvement in the Icarus I mission. As a young graduate into the Icarus project, he worked as a junior engineer on the Icarus I comms system. Harvey is a Protestant. He is married to his childhood sweetheart. They are without children. He earned his place on the Icarus II mission partly as a result of his invention of the LIGHT BOX COMMS SYSTEM. Built into his console, when he immerses himself in this oddly thick beam of light, he can cancel out the noise of background interference from radiation storms and solar flares. It is this space he retreats to, of purity of sound, to escape from the stresses and pressures of the deep-space mission. Harvey earned his rank on the Icarus II mission partly by hard work and all-round abilities. He is a fine engineer, and would be able to perform most of Mace, Trey, and Cassie’s duties at an equal level. His physical fitness and general health is extremely good. He consistently scored highest in crew fitness tests. He also scored extremely highly on psych tests, as a dependable and stable member of the crew. However, in the psych tests, he managed to disguise (and they failed to detect) his Achilles heel: which is his attachment to his wife. Simply, he misses her. He dreams of her every night. He is terrified by the idea that he will not survive the mission, and never see her again. It is this weakness that eats away inside him.
__________
Kaneda: Captain
Nationality: Japanese
Kaneda was born in Kyoto. He worked for many years in the Pan-Asian Space Program, with both Corazon and Trey. He was then transferred to the Icarus Project, based first in America, and then on the orbiting international space station. In both age and time spent in space flight, he is the most experienced astronaut of the crew. He was a natural choice to lead the second mission. The entire crew of Icarus II are deferential to him. No one questions his authority or judgement. Kaneda has no wife and no children. He is Buddhist. He has an unforced and pragmatic spiritualism. In his sleeping quarters, he has a small shrine. Outwardly, Kaneda is a model of calm, and he leads by example. But privately, he obsesses about fate of Icarus I. He questions and re-questions the failure of the previous mission. Kaneda feels paternalistic towards all his crew, but in particular, Capa. This is partly because Capa is the youngest, but also because Capa is the only crew member who is not a career astronaut. He knows that it is hard for Capa being an outsider, a passenger, and goes out of his way to make Capa feel included. Kaneda’s closest intellectual equal is Searle. Searle is the only member of the crew with whom he would maintain a friendship outside the context of the mission.
__________
Mace: Engineer
Nationality: American
Mace is in some senses a blue-collar scientist: his specialist area is Engineering. He doesn’t understand the code programming that creates the Icarus Flight Computer—because no one does. The coding behind Icarus is so immensely complex that it required other computers to generate it. But what Mace does understand is the circuitry mapping and the mechanics that run it. His family background is military. He grew up on air-bases; both parents were pilots. He has an innate belief in the chain of command, and an innate distrust of those—such as Capa—who sit outside the chain of command. His mind is practical and three-dimensional, not abstract. He has never read a book for pleasure. He would rather spend spare time doing push-ups than listening to music. He cuts his hair short because life is easier that way. He is honest. He has no vanity, but he does have pride. Mace is disgusted with himself when he finds that, over the long journey to Mercury, he has lost his focus on the mission. He is the only crew member whose vision remains unclouded in respect of this goal. He is unsentimental. He doesn’t like Capa. He has a dry sense of humour which is for his own benefit rather than anyone else’s. That is to say, he doesn’t crack a joke in order to make other people laugh. He is not a firebrand. If anything, he is the opposite. His mind is clear, and is not cluttered by the confusions of adrenaline or passion. Losing his temper with Capa is the exception; not the rule. He never remembers his own dreams. If he did, he’d find, to his surprise, that he often dreams of Cassie.
__________
Searle: Doctor and Psych Officer
Nationality: American
Searle is not married. Searle is the only crew member who did not have a counter-part on Icarus I. Icarus I had a doctor, but no psychiatrist. Endless theories were developed and explored for the failure of Icarus I. Searle was the primary advocate for the theory that the failure of the mission might have been for psychological reasons—the psychiatric collapse of one or all of the crew. He spent years researching the effects of deep-space travel and its effects on the mind—during which time he developed and created the Earth Room. As a consequence of his research, he argued strongly that the Med Officer on Icarus II should also be a qualified psychiatrist. It was an argument he won. Its unintended consequence was that Searle himself was chosen as the Psych Officer for the mission. His own psychological profile is of a man who is extremely emotionally stable. He is even-tempered. He has a good sense of humour. He is not given to panic or hasty decisions. However, he is also a man who is eternally separate from other people. He is detached. A watcher. Unjudgemental. Oddly unconcerned. This can make him appear (particularly to Mace) unprofessional. Searle is the only member of the crew to know that Cassie became pregnant, and aborted her child, during the final stages of the Icarus II preparation. He helped her hide this from continuous medical examinations, by using earlier samples of blood and urine tests. Searle’s motivations and his agendas are his own, and could best be described as philosophical. Ultimately, he believes only this: the larger the searchlight, the larger the circumference of the unknown. Searle does not believe in God. But he thinks that sometimes he glimpses God, hidden in the sunshine. Whether this tells himself something about God, or something about himself, is unclear to him.
__________
Trey: Navigator
Nationality: Chinese
Trey was born in Hong Kong. Trey has a prodigious ability with mathematics. He has can perform extremely complicated calculations in his head, and can perform the classic mathematician’s party-trick: to tell you what day of the week any given date fell on. When he was only twelve, he achieved a brief world-wide notoriety as the writer of the Hong-Kong-King-Kong computer virus, which wiped out the operational abilities of twelve percent of the planet’s computers in a single day, freezing up the systems and replacing them with a picture of a gorilla beating its chest, swiped from the 1980s Nintendo Donkey Kong game. Although he was just old enough for criminal prosecution, he was spared any kind of juvenile prison sentence because he was talent-spotted by the Pan-Asian space program. He worked in China until he was nineteen. Then, like Corazon and Kaneda, he relocated to the US to work on the Icarus project. His extreme talent for mathematics is also the cause of his mistake on the mission. He is unwilling to give the role of recalculating the changed flight trajectory to Icarus, because he is afraid to delegate such an important task to anyone, or anything, else. This decision is not born from arrogance. It is simply the safest option from his point of view—he knows the limits of his own parameters, and feels more comfortable if all variables are known to him, and under his direct control. His closest friend out of the crew is Mace. Trey is not married, has no partner, and no children. When he sleeps, he dreams of number sequences.

Day 04: "Your scent is killing me"
Written for: #hqomegaverseweek2022
⚠️ CW: Mpreg
"You smell."
Atsumu glared from where he lay curled on the sofa, a spark of irritation surging through his veins.
He'd painstakingly taken the trouble to cook up a hearty meal for his mate despite feeling unwell this morning, and that ungrateful bastard was giving him shit, the moment he stepped home from training?
Absolutely unforgivable.
Atsumu did not appreciate Sakusa's tone one bit.
"Well, hello to you too, Omi. Welcome home."
With pleasantries out of the way, Atsumu huffed, "And excuse me?"
The alpha removed his jacket and mask, sanitising his hands, inhaling sharply, before staring at Atsumu with a small frown.
"I said, you smell, Atsumu."
"Yeah? Yer a fucking doughnut! Yer stink too," Atsumu yelled, eyes watering.
He didn't understand why he was hurt by such simple words. There wasn't a need to be so defensive. Atsumu was sure he'd usually retort back with snark, but recently, his moods had taken another turn.
Maybe he did stink after all that cooking. He didn't have to yell at his alpha, who looked genuinely surprised and concerned by his outburst.
Guilt blanketed Atsumu.
Nose stuffy, tears blurred his vision.
"Look baby, I'm sorry," Sakusa murmured, striding over quickly to embrace his sniffling omega who melted in his hold instantly, "I just mean… You smell different. It's- Your scent's killing me."
Atsumu pouted, looking doubtful, teary eyes making Sakusa groan slightly.
There was definitely something different about his mate's scent, up close.
Burying his nose into Atsumu's scent gland, he took in deep, hungry inhales that left his sweatpants tenting.
His omega smelled sweeter, his usual honeyed peach pheromones now laced with a bewitching scent of vanilla and cream. It was driving the alpha in Sakusa nuts.
He wanted a taste. His mouth wouldn't stop watering. There was an ache building in his jaws to bite, mark and claim.
"Sweetheart, when was your last heat?" Sakusa growled lowly, resisting the urge to  have his way with Atsumu, knowing how the latter didn't feel well this morning, and had skipped their usual volleyball practice.
Silence blanketed them, before there was a spike of pheromones in the air. It was a mix of excitement, unease and fear.
"Love? What's wrong?" Sakusa cooed softly, caressing Atsumu's cheek gingerly.
"... Omi, it didn't come," Atsumu whispered under a hitched breath, eyes gleaming, "My heat. 's been 2 months."
Sakusa froze. Connecting the dots from every minute change he had observed in his mate over the past few weeks, it gave him a sudden epiphany.
Holy shit.
Atsumu was pregnant.
"Test. We…we need you to take a pregnancy test," Sakusa mumbled, lower lip shaking from the rush of emotions coursing through his body.
Carrying his omega who was positively glowing, vibrating in excitement, to the toilet where they kept a stash of pregnancy test kits in the cabinet, the next ten minutes that passed were painfully arduous.
Pacing outside the toilet anxiously, Sakusa couldn't stop hope from flaring in him.
Truth be told, now that Atsumu and him were in their late twenties and had achieved their shared goal of playing and winning a gold medal at the Olympics, the pair were trying for a baby.
They were ready to take things slower and welcome a new addition to their family.
Atsumu would make a strong, beautiful parent to his pups.
"Kiyoomi."
Sakusa's train of thoughts came to a crashing halt.
Rubbing the gold band on his ring finger, he told himself that regardless of how the results turned out, he still loved Atsumu with all his heart and soul.
The omega standing right outside the toilet gave him a watery smile, holding up two pregnancy kits, both of which reflected two lines.
Sakusa blinked. Once. Twice. And again.
Pregnant. His omega was carrying his pups.
Sakusa exhaled the breath he hadn't realised he had been holding back, a quiet sob escaping his quivering lips.
Swallowing the knot forming at the back of his throat, he reached out to cradle his sobbing omega.
"I'm gonna be a daddy. For real. For real! " Sakusa laughed, choking up, "We're gonna be parents, Tsumu. We did it."
Atsumu beamed, snot running down his philtrum. He knew he probably looked awful considering how he had always been an ugly crier but Lord forbid-
he couldn't care one bit. He felt pretty fucking fantastic.
Even more so when Sakusa dragged their lips together urgently, holding him with so much care and tenderness that it actually hurt.
“I love you, Atsumu."
"As do I, Kiyoomi."
Where there is love, there is life.
