The Scarecrow as a villain has been around longer than Riddler, which makes somethings fun for them. Namely the fact that Jonathan's been in the news so many times and Edward wasn't even around to see those times. But that doesn't mean they don't exist online. So I present to you: Edward seeing reports that talk about his boyfriend running around with his "queer grasshopper leaps" and then losing his shit about it. Jonathan isn't amused. Harley on the other hand absolutely is.

I'm gonna have a go at the riddles which The Riddler throws at Stephanie Brown in Robin (1993) #113. @a-bad-case-of-the-stephs I'm hoping you can help me out, haven't actually read Robin in well over a year.

It's a gift that keeps on taking. It's a theft that keeps on giving. Having a child is the "gift" and when Arthur was imprisoned or estranged, his child was "stolen" from him. When Stephanie came into Arthur's life, he saw her as a "white elephant", but when he no longer had her, he became driven by the idea of her.

One bug is wrapped in a web, therein to die. Another bug is wrapped in its own web, there to be reborn. In a sense, being tangled in a web can be fatal but it can also indicate introspection and growth. Arthur's obsession with leaving clues were often his undoing so will Stephanie preoccupation with her father be her's or will it actually represent reflection and change?

There is a dog in the manger, but it cannot subsist on hay. A manger is a feeder for livestock, typically holding hay; which dogs do not eat. A "dog in a manger" is a person who spitefully refuses to let someone else benefit from (or let go of) something for which he or she has no personal use (dictionary.com). But dogs cannot subsist on hay and the livestock cannot eat with the dog in the manger. If the dog doesn't relent or change, then everyone loses. Stephanie is the dog and her memory of her father is the manger she cannot let go of.

What day of the week has no man ever lived to see? Judgement day. You have to be dead to see it. And they're both very much alive.

The Tiger envies the Oxen but only understands its horns. The Tiger envies the Oxen's power but it only understands power through the language of violence. Steph easily outmatches The Riddler in a fight yet is confused how he still holds all the cards although she attacks him because she only speaks the language of violence.

I am the number you cannot count on your fingers. Edit: he’s saying Steph’s missing the point; you can’t count him on your fingers, he’s not that kind of number.

Made the sound of your shoes as you walked through the halls of Gotham's Police Department.

Rumor has it that working in the GCPD wasn't easy and it was quite the work load given Gotham's extremely high crime rate but you transfered to there anyhow.

It was your first day on the job as the new detective in town and you felt a mix of confidence and anxiety.

The mistakes you could make running through your mind, trying to ignore the tightening felling in your chest.

Your eyes glanced at the busy officers and of course the one's who don't care at all.

The dark and dampness of the building made your bad feeling worse, mixed with unfamiliar sounds.

Bearly any sun shined out of the windows and the celling lights flicker and blink aggressively, giving you a headache.

After a while of looking for you office, you finally found it, it's as you expected, sad looking.

You move to place your box with the things you own, accidentally bumping into someone.

The box drops from your hands.

"Oh-oh my, I am so sorry, I didn't mean too."

The man in front of you apologized profusely, fiddling with his hands.

Strands of his hair falls on to his face, picking up the light box and handing to back to you, You thank him.

You put down the piece of cardboard on a table, wipe off your clothes that somehow got dust on them.

He shyly picks up his glasses from the ground, putting them on.

"I wasn't really paying attention-" You cut him off.

"It's fine, don't worry about it." Your hands get a hold of his glasses frames, fixing them on his face.

"That's much better" you say with a smile.

Little did you know this would be the start of a long lasting friendship, and maybe something more.

After you settled in, the days that go by had only been stressful mornings and exhausted nights, but at least you had one person to brighten the dullness, even by a little, or in this case, a lot, given the fact that you found an envelope addressed to you paired with a red rose on your desk.

When you open the envelope, you find a letter with the words

"I am available in thousands of colors. Each color symbolizes different aspects of love. I am used to celebrate new beginnings and express heartfelt goodbyes. What am I?"

The green of the writing contrasting with the plain white of the background, You smile while reading it, glancing at the rose...

speaking of gotham tv and queerbaiting i might be entirely off here but didnt one of the actors for ed or oz (idr which one) figure out hes queer while filming gotham wasnt that like. a thing gotham tumblr kept talking about.

idk about figuring it out during filming but robin lord taylor (penguin) is gay and has a husband and corey michael smith (riddler) is queer. in fact that is the only thing stated in the personal life section of his wikipedia page. slay

Decided to attempt to read all of dukes comics this week. I’ve been wanting to read his stuff for a while and I’ve finally gotten the motivation to read them in a few sittings. Can’t wait to learn more about him! ^_^

IDK I can't name things for shit, and it's past 3AM.

Honest to God idk what this is. I had an idea. There aren't any names mentioned, but it's Jon and Ed.

He was asleep. That wasn't terribly uncommon after we finished for the night. This was about the only time of day you could get any semblance of quiet out of him either. He had a terrible habit of running his mouth. I find that it's much better suited for other things.

I watched the slow rise and fall of his chest beginning to speed up. His brow began to furrow. Yes, he was asleep all alright but not peacefully. I've never known him to sleep peacefully. He tosses and turns like a worm writhing on a fishing line. The small whimpers are always a delight to my ears. His small pleas to stop, please make it stop are a wonderful addition as well. If only I knew just what it was he was dreaming about. He's not like this under the toxin; it almost angers me to know that I'm being robbed. Instead of this, I bear witness to his cleithrophobia. This seems so much more personal, and that makes it all the more fascinating.

It doesn't take long before he bolts upright, wide-eyed. A hand flies to cover his mouth. He squeezes his eyes shut for a moment and opens them again. I can see tears threatening to form in the corners of his eyes. He's never been a crier. He wraps both his arms around himself in an attempt to self-soothe, but it's pointless. His eyes quickly dart to me and then away as if I was meant to do something to ease the suffering, and the worst part is there was a moment when I actually wanted to. It was just a brief fleeting moment, but I had actually wanted to help him as opposed to studying him. I had been having feelings like that about him a lot more lately, and it's been an inconvenience, to say the least. That's not even to mention the amount of times I've thought about him unprompted. It's been happening ever since the beginning of this...arrangement. He's like a worm. A worm that crawls into your brain and won't get out, one that slowly consumes you until there's nothing else left, but really it's him that needs to worry. Crows eat worms.

Ed was very jealous of Jon's crows early on. Yes, he knows Jonathan loves them, but he also felt that the birds sleeping in their bedroom was maybe a bit too much. And while Crane usually isn't an emotional man, he wasn't happy that his partner and his crows didn't get along. So, when one of the birds laid eggs and they hatched, he let Nygma name one of the babies. Mirth becomes Nygma's first crow. Because after her, who latched onto him easily and was seen with him plenty of times, Crane kept letting him name crows and those crows also grew attached. He starts to have his own flock of crows that follow him around the way Crane's follow him. Crane is very pleased that his crows like Edward.
