I'm gonna be honest I feel like when there's a poll with Absol it feels like they vote for their holowear simply because it's Absol (I find most if not all of their holowear ugly ngl)

As it stands, pre-completion of Bracket Four Rounds 2,

Absol has 4 outfits in the winner's brackets, 2 outfits in the loser's brackets and 2 outfits completely out of the running, so it's actually relatively even.

I'm an average Absol enjoyer and find their outfits "kinda mid":" at worst, but fashion is subjective

Oh. my. goodness. Could it be true?! Could another year really have come to a close?! Well, my friends, that appears to be a yes. But, most importantly, another round of voting has also ended!

Let us stop for a second and ponder all of our wins and losses for this past year and for all the previous rounds of this tournament and say our congratulations - or condolences, as always - to both. As the saying goes: New year, new round! So let's keep moving for another week of voting and another year of madness!

As you might have noticed from the return of our Tournament layout to its origin, we're going to be pausing the voting on the Winners Bracket for a little while to let our Losers catch up and get to the Ultimate Final together. That means that starting this week, and for the next three weeks after that, we'll be reuniting with some old flames and eliminating shows yet again.

So let's not waste any more time and not make our Pre-SemiFinals Round for the Losers Bracket wait any longer. If your favourites have already been eliminated then Yay! but if not, it's time now more than ever to keep voting and hoping your darlings don't make it out alive. It's a race to the bottom, baby, and we've got bottoms aplenty.

POLL PLANS

i don’t have a set date for when i’ll start this, but i’m aiming for JULY 30. I have two different plans, but it depends on the votes. one is to have all characters only voted once have pre-polls against each other, which will have the tournament (AS OF NOW) be even. the other is to run the tournament normally, but that would have to have some polls be with 3 characters instead of two. i’ll have a separate poll to decide which idea up after i write this.

there will be a loser bracket.

as said/asked before, i’ll do series specific gay tournaments after this, but i don’t know when. they’ll go in order from first to last series, and each winner go up against each other.

Just wanted to say: huge, HUGE thanks for giving Pre-SGW vs. Prime such a widespread audience, I truly appreciate it. Let's show some love for the other polls going on as well; the larger sample size I have, the better!

And in other news, I have been considering conducting a loser's bracket after the tournament finishes. How would you all feel about that?

What is a ‘Meow Meow’?

Monor Regalia

Monor Regalia was the monarch of the most affected country by the ���Blackout War.’ The country is riddled with thousands of buried EMP emitters. They have been set back to the pre-electrical age.

Monor was born long after the end of the war. A goodhearted and mature child who took their unfair world with unbreaking resilience. They suffered in silence.

They withstood the test of time from their coronation in their teens to adulthood, but the quiet, cold peace in their life was never going to last. Loneliness eternally accompanied them, so it seemed. Until it was chased out one day by the presence of a peculiar woman.

Abergwine was a peasant woman. She and Monor met while Monor was in the countryside, surveying the beginnings of a new dig operation for extracting EMPs. They met as Monor sat in the corner of a small bar, devoid of the Monarch’s Mask. After so long spent hiding emotions from their peers, Monor confided in her, a random stranger, and she listened.

Abergwine would become Monor’s first wife.

Abergwine was a woman with a strange set of beliefs about the world. She spoke of hidden angels and demons, and she spoke with such fear in her voice that in time, the fear began to leech into Monor too.

One night, Abergwine demanded and begged Monor kill her in a sacrificial ritual that would allow Abergwine to escape the evil world. Monor resisted, but their wife’s screaming and pleading made them give in, and after countless asking if it was what she really wanted, Monor gave in.

Monor never forgot the feeling of slaughtering that which they loved the most. Never forgot the stick of the blood, or the weight of a body, or the fleshy thickness of cutting through a throat. Or the smell of death.

Almost a year after Abergwine’s death, Monor met another woman. One that was much more stable. They were happy together, and even conceived a child. Monor always dreamed of a family. Abergwine had never wanted children though, and back then, Monor told Abergwine that she alone would be enough forever. Monor was healing, they thought. It was short lived.

The child was born with two dark feathery wings. Monor was wrought with fear. This is a sign Abergwine warned them about. Monor was inconsolable, lost to anxiety and silent panic. They made a decision. To cut the wings from the newborn’s body.

Their wife heard the child’s screaming, and ran in, screeching in horror at Monor’s actions. She ran at Monor, who lashed out defensively, in panic, with the blade.

It was an accident.

Monor hid a second wife’s body that day.

Monor never fell in love again.

The child was named Caruman, and though she was loved, she grew up with a distance between herself and her mother. Monor loved their daughter, but with the busy responsibilities of a kingdom on their hands, the raising was left to hired caretakers. Monor tried to make what little time they could spend with their daughter count. They never showed up for disciplinary action, leaving that to caretakers. When they showed up, it was only to do pleasant things. Still, Monor had a hard time feeling emotionally present, or even physically present at times.

Loneliness came back to stay beside them.

One night, Monor broke under the misery. They left the palace and hired the services of a sex worker, and had unprotected sex with her, as a futile attempt to fill the void. Weeks later, Monor found out the woman had conceived.

Monor offered to pay the woman a lifetime’s worth of money and purchase her an expensive comfortable home in return for the woman carrying and birthing the child. The woman accepted, giving birth to Monor’s second child. Monor upheld their deal.

The second child was named ‘Umber.’

Perhaps Monor thought Umber could serve as a clean start. Umber, like Caruman, grew up under the guardianship of caretakers, with little presence from Monor. But the siblings grew close, close enough to make Monor feel a little less guilt for staying back. Especially when they only seemed to hurt anyone they touched.

Umber grew to become quite the prodigy, innovating and engineering with the non-electric technologies that functioned. Umber became a source of hope, of sorts.

It all ended one morning when Umber was found dead in his room. Monor never learned what had happened.

It was all downhill from there. Caruman retreated to her room, actively avoiding Monor. Monor knew Caruman blamed them for what happened, because of their distance. Monor shrank back into their duties, once again alone.

And they died that way. One night, Caruman decided to end things for good. She found an opportunity to slip a poison into her mother’s meal, and Monor died, alone on the floor of the stairwell. On the way their lonely room.

Rook

Why a SWMM? I call him my "idiot bastard man", and it's accurate in every sense of those words. Actual literal bastard son of a nobleman. Ran away from home and joined a pirate crew because he was terrified of getting stuck working a dead-end job for the rest of his life (he was 17). Had 6 great years sailing with his captain, who was the first person who was ever nice to him. He even had one (1) real friend!!! But the rest of the crew hated him and thought the captain was showing him favoritism, so he got given a drugged drink during a "birthday celebration" on shore, and given to a rival captain. She kept him and torture him for 2 years until he escaped. He met two good father figures but one of them turned out to be the BBEG (see above), and the other one died 2 days later. The day after that he got kidnapped again. He's been cursed by a demon lord so he has terribly nightmares and barely sleeps. He's convinced that his life has no value, and is self-sacrificial to the point of self-destruction. Keeps telling people who care about him very concerning news (mainly that he died) in really stupid ways. Has died 3 times, and has been pulled back from the brink countless more. Goes down at least once every combat / gets the shit beat out of him constantly. Was reunited with his one (1) friend and she immediately got killed because of his actions. Has no common sense. Extremely impulsive. Got told he was too reckless to be trusted with his own life. Gets bullied by major villains on a regular basis. Has taunted powerful people twice and gotten killed both times. Has no common sense. A capital L Liar, has never told the truth in his life. Hasn't properly buttoned a shirt in ~9 years. Other people knew that his beloved mentor and father figure was actually the BBEG but they didn't tell him. Had to see said mentor figure get brutally "killed" in front of him.

Origin: He's my longest-running Dungeons & Dragons character, and I have literally never been more obsessed with a character in my life. And completely unbeknownst to me I wrote him to be a perfect parallel to the BBEG of the entire campaign. Hence why the DM made said BBEG show up and be Rook's mentor... Fun times!!!

Update + Pre-Tournament Polls

In the end, there was a total of 137 submissions to the survey. Of those submissions, only 1 character received more than 1 nomination.

The final bracket will be announced Feb 19, 3pm EST, and the tournament proper will begin Feb 20, 3pm EST. The final bracket will contain 32 characters, alongside a losers bracket. More information/times will be announced alongside the final bracket.
