The DCAs arms/hands keep breaking because of how much they move and do silly acrobatics, pairing that with some leftover water+fire damage, it is one of the things that Y/N has to repair often;

New compatible parts are hard to find + expensive (considering how old the DCAs model is), so Y/N normally has to go to old faztech electronic trash dumps to find something that might work, which is usually pieces of other similar-looking Attendants from some old FAZCO animatronic line. You really hope sun and moon don't know about this, or else things will get awkward

Luz lies on her belly on her sleeping bag, happily reading in her room with King asleep next to her. Behind her, the window is open, revealing a scout brandishing a spear. PANEL 4: "And even that one disappeared, apparently," Gwen continues. Eda appears in the window, casting a spell that blasts the scout out of view. PANEL 5: Luz turns and looks out the window, puzzled, but there is nothing there. PANEL 6: "My human isn't going to disappear," says Eda. She looks over her shoulder at Luz's oblivious back through the window, determined. "Oh no, of course not!" says Gwen. "I'm sure you're doing a wonderful job looking after her and teaching her all sorts of things." PANEL 7: A close up of one side of Gwen's face, her eye looking to the side, knowing that Dell is behind her, concerned and waiting. "Like--," she says. PANEL 8: She leans in towards the phone, gritting her teeth. "--Palisman carving, maybe?" PANEL 9: Eda and Lilith clash. Eda blocks with her staff as Lilith comes at her with her own. "Mom, I'm busy!" Eda cries. "Just spit it out!" "Okay, okay!" says Gwen.

His head is lowered, expression sad. PANEL 2: A view of an old, hanging wooden shop sign for a shop named "Clawthorne Palismen". It was once a mark of a well-cared for business. It has hand-carved wings, fancy lettering, and a second, smaller sign below it, declaring, "Established 16--" something. But the rest is broken off. The sign is in disrepair, with a, "CLOSED," sign plastered on top. PANEL 3: "A lot of people associate palismen with wild magic these days," Gwen continues. What was once a small, quaint shop sits boarded up and falling apart. It's covered in graffiti, reading, "REMEMBER METANOY," and "WILD." In the foreground, people avoid it, whispering. This is infos I've shared before on my site, and I got the greenlight to share it here !

Reminder that @neonross was the og creator of Out of Bounds and I am merely one of the artist and writers ( and alternatively the lore gremlin that make sure everything is smooth good lore lol ( so for lore clarification yeh I'm the good person to ask haha))

So here are the "laws" of the multiverse and how it works in wttmv specifically !

Those rules apply only in our story, but anyone who wants to use those concepts are welcome, of course ! Neon Ross's og intent was to have rules flexible enough for people to make characters and have fun with the concepts, but we don't mean to be an autority of any kind and ruin people's fun... Anyway, explanation time

It's not really "laws" so much as rules for ourselves and for our story, to give it nuances and stakes and the right amount of lore scratching complexity

Some characters however might tell you that these are laws lmao

✨Out of Bounds ✨

___-Lore Guide-___

Out of Bounds (OOB) is a realm existing beyond the multiverse, operating by its own rules and devoid of time. This guide provides insight into OOB's nature, its role in the multiverse, and the mechanics governing its interactions.

Nature of Out of Bounds

Definition :

• OOB is a space outside of alternate universes, akin to the Void Realm in Towags where forgotten characters and places reside.

• Awareness of this space is limited, known only to those who reside within or encounter its inhabitants.

Television :

• Floating televisions within OOB display AUs, acting as viewports or portals for interaction.

• Televisions serve as a primary means for Multiversers to observe and interact with AUs. ( While it is the primary way, note that there are exceptions and other ways to travel )

Shows :

• We call "show" the stories within the multiverse. Includes the Original, Variants, Alternate Universes.

• The Original cannot be touched or interacted with by anyone.

• Variants are copies of the original with very minor changes (art style, design, head canons). They can be interacted with on varrying degree, depending on the creator of the variant will.

• AUs are copies of Welcome Home with major or noticeable changes, from the story, to the characters and their designs.

Vintage Tapes :

• AUs are stored within vintage tapes, with the film inside representing the universe's timeline.

• Tapes categorize AUs into Fixed and Flexible, depending on the level of interaction allowed by the creators of each AUs.

Interference Mechanics :

• Interfering with Fixed AUs poses risks, as altering their storylines can lead to universe corrupt and/or collapse.

• Flexible AUs allow more interaction, often featuring crossovers and Y/N scenarios.

Out of Bound Spaces

Channels :

• Spaces integral to the multiverse system, including the Observer's TV room, the Archives, and Admin's film room.

Shows :

• The AUs themselves, contained in the multiverse, then OOB

Lost Media :

• Spaces not categorized as channels or tapes, such as the Keeper's domaine, Trader's space, and Stitcher's atelier. (Often time those are kind of like shells of dead/collapsed/modified AU, or pocket dimensions)

Pillars of Creation :

• Vast space outside of the multiverse, a galaxy-like zone full of stars, that is said to be where the creators of AUs reside. Very few characters go so far in the OOB.

In between :

• The void between the AUs. It is devoid of breathable air, often dark and lightless as well. Some multiversers are unaffected by the lack of air, but stay careful ! We don't know what lurks or leaks in the in-between

Note : this diagram applies to wttmv, but feel free to use I with your characters if you want ! Just like all of those rules, we made those to help make the story as a whole

Out of Bound Inhabitants

Natives of OOB :

• The Out of Bound is often said to have a mind of its own... It will sometimes create its own variants of the core cast, for reasons still obscures to this day. Notable characters born from the OOB : Observer, Courier, Messenger

"Refugies"

• Cast or OC characters that had their worlds destroyed/corrupted/collapsed, and who are left to wander in the multiverse. Most often they will end up in Peacekeeper's domaine until they can be rehomed in a flexible tape or new universe, or adapt to the Out of Bounds.

• A character that adapts to the Out of Bounds will then be called "Multiverser" along with the native of OOB

• Characters considered "refugies turned multiverser" in wttmv : Peacekeeper, Filante, Trader, ShopKeeper, Watcheye, Stitcher, Croupier

Multiversers :

• Multiversers are the inhabitants of the Out of Bounds. Often times, they are anomalies that have developped specific abilities allowing them to reside or survive in the Out of Bounds. Those abilities often includes being able to travel to multiple flexible tapes, but not always. A multiverser will almost always be a variant of a cast character, and rarely, if not ever, a y/n or fan oc. (If you wonder why y/n and ocs are excluded from being multiversers specifically, it's because Y/N is at its core a you self insert, but *you* are supposed to be viewers in the story. It's fine when in a pocket universe like Keeper's and Trader, a y/n can exist there, but in the oob it could causes some problems of logic with viewer influence and control, or the focus of the story could go astray to fit a y/n, which is not a story we want to tell. It kinda goes for ocs too)

But now I get to ramble here too ! Hurray !

TLDR :

OOB is big and weird. The AUs and Variants can be interacted with only if allowed by the creators. Multiversers are the weird cast variants living in the oob. The OOB is kinda like an onion, it has layers. Most characters always stay in the multiverse part.

consider for a moment, if you will. Soulmates being an actual thing in KOTLC, but only the elves. And then consider, most of them never actually get with their soulmate. They just follow the match system

imagine if someone had a soulmate but the two would be considered a 'bad match' because one of them is talentless or a twin or has a 'dangerous' ability????

and like- some people very much Do end up with their soulmate, but only if the other person is on their list or the two are willing to be a 'bad match'

more below the cut since i kind of just go on a rant about this

this very much was started because i had an idea bout soulmate Fitz/Sophie and how that would add another layer of complexity to their relationship, and also thinking about them maybe not realizing that they are soulmates??? Sophie not knowing soulmates are actually a thing because to everyone else that's normal knowledge but not to her... thinking about Fitz hoping that Sophie is his soulmate but not even knowing if it'd be possible because of her being an experiment... and even though I'm not a fan of Sokeefe imagine Keefe desperately hoping that Sophie is his soulmate because she's this light and how could she not be?

But she isn't and the angst potential that could bring??? or what if Sophie just doesn't have a soulmate? what if that's another thing that makes her different from the others, because all the elves have soulmates and she doesn't. it makes her different, it makes her an outsider again. but she doesn't get this because she doesn't know that soulmates exist, and if soulmates did exist for elves it could explain why we as humans have all these ideas of soulmates from when we interacted with the elves???

Like, all the kinds of soulmates are possible for elves and that's why we have so many different types when we write?? Soulmates who have marks on their bodies, we get that from elves. soulmates who have writing, or can hear their soulmates voice or anything we get from elves which would be such an interesting way to explore another dynamic that once existed between the two species. one species ((humans)) who view this as so romantic and wonderful because it means that there is someone out there for you and the other species ((elves)) who view it as annoying because they are matched to who would be the best for them, and so many don't end up with their soulmate because they'd be 'bad' together????

That is to say, KOTLC Soulmate Canon-Compliant AU (oooh, wait i could incorporate this into my kotlc rewrite... waiiiiit.....)

So I have this post Keeper AU. Happily ever after? HA! For the rest maybe. Fitz? Nah. He lives in the Forbidden cities after running away. He realizes how hypocritical it is to run away after hating Keefe for it, but he doesn't care at that point. His friends talk shit about him. His anger issues, how 'perfect' his life is, his dislike for Sokeefe. He's had enough. He steals a pathfinder from Aldens office and runs away. He got rid of everything connecting him to the lost cities. He doesn't plan to come back to the shiny city anyway. He breaks his imparter. Gets rid of his registry pendant. Leaves behind his Vacker crest. Starts a new life. He ignores and blocks Sophie whenever she reaches out. He goes from job to job so he won't get traced easily and so that he can earn a quick buck to pay his rent. He lives in an inconspicuous apartment. He changes his name. Wears contacts. Everything.

He's done with the lost cities. Forever.

[Finders Keepers au] Someone said in the tags of my last FK post if the fucked up Eclipse (the second guy) should or should be not called that and well! **Technically** he is an Eclipse. kinda.

In this AU, the "Balloon World" Arcade machine got infected with the glitchtrap/afton virus and gained some sort of sentience after assuming the form of BW's Eclipse. This happened before the DCA got infected with the virus and, to me, thats how Sun and Moon even got infected in the first place (given the arcade machine was in their room)

ZevHamal AU Roundup ✨

I thought it might be handy to share a list of my ZevHamal AUs, since I post about them from time to time!

🔹The Keeper & The Warden :: tag + art 1, 2, 3 :: Zevran pays a visit to the Warden Commander and gets caught up in a local conflict between the Templars and Clan Sabrae.

Fun details: An AU where Hamal inherited his father's magic and grew up to become Keeper of Clan Sabrae. In this world Tamlen becomes tainted by the eluvian while he's out exploring the forest alone. He joins the Grey Wardens, defeats the Archdemon, and becomes Warden Commander. This AU has Merrill as Hamal's First because I can't not have her around. Zevran is more pragmatic and jaded, and he is in the midst of taking down the Crows alone when the story begins.

🔹6th Blight :: tag + art 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 + fic 1, 2 :: Hamal and Alistair are new roommates in a bustling college-town. Classes, late nights, hobbies, and a group of misfit friends fill their days, until a mysterious threat emerges. In this world the governments of Thedas conceal the Blight by quarantining the regions affected. Stories of the Blight are considered old legends, but old legends will have to suffice when it comes to saving the world.

Fun details: This AU is notable for including @vlwv's Mavis! It's extremely fun, starting off like a slice of life and ending in something like a zombie survival story. Hamal, Tamlen, Merrill and Mathuin are in a BAND! Mavis works in a FLOWER SHOP! Morrigan works in a CAFE! Zevran is studying to become a NURSE! Pretty much everyone you can think of is in this with their own little role to play. I will say, though, after around 2020 it started to feel a little erm, topical. 😅

🔹Good Parenting :: tag + art 1, 2 + fic :: Zevran and Hamal meet at their first Arlathvhen. They hit it off swimmingly (pun intended), but what starts off as a fling quickly builds to something more.

Fun details: In this AU Zevran's father was never killed by the Crows and Hamal's mother brought him to Antiva to raise him among her clan. This is a sweet little coming-of-age tale written in a very sporadic and casual fashion but it happens to have the most content simply because I love writing for it. It's filled with Dalish and Antivan headcanons, pining, fluff, and family feelings. The fact that Zevran and Hamal's parents are still alive is the reason for the name :)

TBOI: Brother's Keeper AU - Azazel

Part 2 of my collection of...sketches. Here we focus on the kids. Playground fights, kickball, swingsets and such. Kid stuff, ya know.

Lazarus and Bethany discover Azazel sleeping in a cave and befriend the lil guy with oats and granola bars. Since they go to a very Christian academy, they can't be caught with a lil demon fella, so they bring him to Mr. Cain's hideout.

As it turns out, Cain knows the lil guy, but he hasn't seen him in 25 years. He thought Zaza was dead.
