Family Mobile Plan: My Review

I switched my phone from straight talk to family mobile and this was not a simple task to do. I honestly should of just kept straight talk if I known then what I known now. I ordered family mobile plan bring your own device from their website but evidently, when I ordered them, I put my email in and I never got tracking number in my email or anything. I got a order number on the last page but I did not get it down because I thought it would of went to my email but it did not.

I called the representative for it and they could not give it to me because it did not keep my email. I honestly thought this plan would be great because hey its on Verizon towers and since I am in the rural area, it would be better. I was half way wrong.

When I got my sim cards, it took 3 hours back and forth with the representative to get the sims switch on top of the system hanging up on top of waiting and waiting until they answer and then try to get my number ported. Their customer service is very helpful and great though. If they cannot fix it then they will transfer you to corporate to get it fixed.

It was a huge headache to begin with. Fast forward to the next day, my husband was trying to do the same thing since his phone service ended that day he was trying to put it on, they told him they cannot do it cause he had to end his service plan this that the whole 9 yards but then he supposedly got it to work BUT now he is having trouble with his data and they did not fix it. The restarted my stuff and not his and now his data does not work even though it should. His phone is also saying he is still with straight talk and not familymobile. Familymobile, Straight talk and TracFone wireless are all in the same line so it is possible to call one and get the other or vise versa.

They did fix his phone with an issue of where if you restart it, it takes like a good 5-10 minutes to restart so now it restarts quickly.

Also they will send you regular sim cards if you shop off shop.myfamilymobile.com so you are going to have to call them and activate it and it does not show up in your Walmart transactions like it suppose to either. They did not send the bring your own sim cards, they sent actual regular sim cards.

The service is okay but it is not what I expected to be nor the way I had to deal with getting everything turned on.

One more thing, the website is janky and does not work correctly. You have to activate the phones and then join their website and if you want to join the reward points you cannot do that you have to go through them to get it or if you want to activate your phone you have to call them especially if you bring your own device because it does not work.

So if you are thinking of joining besides my experience that is okay but be sure to get a cheap plan and not do like me thinking it would work. The cheap plan allows you to test it to see how you like it.

They also take safelink benefits which will knock so much off your phone bill which is why I also joined because I already had it with straight talk.
