POLYE v. ZURENUOC: What does it mean for Marape/Paita VONC?
By P. Ben Lomai, PhD*A VONC is a very important national issue. Currently, it is being debated by a lat of legal and political commentators, and generally, everyone on podcast, print, and social media. Views expressed were different from each other, most of them subjective, whilst few were objective, depending on how one’s position was. Regardless, I intend to offer my own personal view based on…

"Che buon profumo, vita mia! ".
"Che profumata, amore mio! ".
Eravamo novelli sposi.
che mi metto all'ingrosso.
Come sono cambiati i tempi
di quando mi ha conosciuto!
I vecchi tempi erano
sopra il cassettiere
una rosa, il suo ritratto,
un profumo e un orologio.
Adesso? Un flacone di aspirina;
l'unguento di rigor;
alcune bende; i miei occhiali;
pillole di canfora;
la siringa, la fiala,
cotone e alcool.
E nel suo, ammucchiati,
affinché stiano meglio,
un bicchiere per i suoi "denti";
il flacone dell'attrito;
un libro aperto; i suoi occhiali;
sciroppo per la tosse;
e acqua e aspirina
nel caso ci venisse un dolore...
Tuttavia: non ci manca
"Via col vento".
Ricordiamo ciò che eravamo
e viviamo il nostro oggi.
Al mattino, senza fretta,
sempre la stessa canzone:
"Come hai dormito, tesoro? ".
"Un dolore mi ha svegliato"...
"Come ti senti, tesoro? ".
"Oggi sento forte il dolore".
E di notte, forse
ricordando qualcosa di meglio,
odorando di salicilato,
pomate e iniezione,
Ripetiamo il solito,
la stessa cosa di ieri e oggi:
"Dormi bene vita mia".
"Dormi bene amore mio"...
Preghiamo un Padre Nostro e ringraziamo Dio.
La vita è bella, a qualsiasi età..

Amaryllis - Chapter 3: It’s a…… !
Pairing: Frankie x f!Reader
WC: 3.4k
Warnings: Fluff, a little angst, anxiety mentions, baby talk - but talking about an actual baby, feelings…. Apparently this is a slow burn. Time jump, but not much.
Summary: Adding lunch at the diner to your weekly routine has been doing wonders for your mental health. The fact that Frankie has been accompanying you has absolutely nothing to do with it.
A/N: This is the last fluffy-ish chapter before we start hitting a few heavier topics.. Each Chapter will have their own warnings though. As always I greatly appreciate any and all feedback, replies, reblogs etc Thank you for reading!
Series Masterlist | Main Masterlist
You were right.
There was an ever growing list of the many many things that were wrong about the situation, but having lunch with Frankie, which had turned out to be a weekly occurrence, wasn’t one of them.
It was good even. Having someone to talk to, who actually wanted to talk to you, not someone who was paid to do so or obligated to… Someone who was genuinely interested in what you had to say? It was freeing. You felt lighter than you had in years….
You felt like you had actually made some progress in therapy even, the “paid to” listener giving you ideas on how to manage stress and intrusive thoughts.
Even at home, things were…. better?
Tom was nagging at you less and less, as he seemed to be more preoccupied with Santi here lately and you were more than grateful to stay out of his way.
Your pregnancy was right on track as well. You’d actually gotten a copy of the ultrasound at your OBGYN appointment last week and had it with you today to show Frankie. He was unusually supportive and seemed excited even at the prospect of there being a baby within the group. None of the other guys had children, which was normal considering their background in Delta force and just the general nature of what they did. Hell, Tom was the only one married and that was in spite of that fact. Still, no one knew the real reasons behind your marriage to Tom. The guys never questioned him directly, although there had been conversation amongst themselves. It normally ended with a shrug and not much else.
Today though, you sidestepped the little pinprick of guilt you felt, a fairly common occurrence lately, at wanting to share the ultrasound with Frankie. Ignoring the almost constant thought of He’s not your husband, you instead make your way to the diner as soon as your appointment is over.
Generally, Frankie would grab the booth at the very back, the same one from that first meeting when he helped you change your tire. That very next week he’d asked where you wanted to sit and he’d made sure to have that spot saved from then on.
Today he was in the same spot, nose deep in a menu, while he sipped his coffee. You noticed there was already another cup sitting untouched, with 2 sugar packets and a bowl full of mini creamers next to it. You smiled as you walked over. Frankie hadn’t heard you come in, so you decided to move as quietly as possible and see if you could get into the booth undetected.
You thought you were being sneaky and Frankie found it adorable. He noticed everything, but was very good at hiding it. His years of training as a soldier, to be aware of all things and prepared to react, bled into real life in a way that disturbed him. He didn’t like that he noticed everything. For once he would like to be genuinely surprised without feeling his adrenaline spike. But it was hardwired into his brain like a dog who’s natural reaction to most things was to bark…. It was no easy thing to undo. So, he tried to utilize it rather than fight it.
With you though, it was dangerous. He was finding himself completely enthralled by you. Noticing things he shouldn’t.
Today he noticed your general aura was much brighter than normal. You always seemed fine after your appointments with Dr. Pomater, but today you were glowing and not just from the pregnancy…. Although he noticed that too.
Without looking up from his menu, he decides to end the charade as you get closer.. “I went ahead and got you a coffee..” he says cheerily, smiling to himself knowing that you thought he hadn’t seen you.
“Oh!” You sounded taken aback, but started laughing lightly.. “Can’t get past you can I?”
At this, Frankie looks above his menu, meeting your eyes and smiling. “Nope!” His lips purposely popping the p at the end. “Don’t feel bad, I tend to be very aware of my surroundings. It’s a force of habit unfortunately,” he knows he looks like a fool, but he can’t help the smile in his voice.
He wouldn’t know how to say exactly what it is he’s been feeling around you. The truth behind whatever words he could conjure up would probably scare you off and he enjoys your company too much to risk it. Not to mention that you are Tom’s wife, his pregnant wife… But, more often than not, he finds himself thinking about you, even when he knows he shouldn’t.
Shaking the thought away, he decides to ask “what’s got you in such a good mood?”
Not accusing, but light and he chuckles as you sit down opposite him at the table.
“Here,” you pull the almost receipt-like roll of images out of your bag. Neatly folded so he can’t tell what it is yet, you hand it to him.
You’re staring at him with a look he can’t decipher…. So he shifts his focus back down and slowly starts to unfold the bundle in his hands.
“What is…. Is this the baby??” You nod your head up and down with a shy smile. He can’t quite tell why, but you seem almost guarded? He’s not sure if that’s the right word or not, but he decides to look back down at the little alien-like blob showcased in each of the pictures. Frankie scans over your name at the top of each one, and every time, a fuzzy warmth burrows itself underneath his ribcage. Shaking his head yet again, he tries to focus on what exactly he’s looking at. He really doesn’t know what is what, but as he goes over each one, there are little arrows here and there labeled with varying body parts… arm, leg, foot and other little notes. One says Hi Mom and Dad, and Frankie gives a slight chuckle… The thought of Tom being a Father was just extremely difficult for him to imagine. He gets to the last one and he’s not sure why exactly, but he stutters as he reads aloud the words in the picture.
“It’s a… It’s a boy….”
Frankie looks up at you, an almost stunned expression on his face. You’re not sure why that would be jarring for him… it could only be one or the other, but he still hasn’t said anything and he’s still looking at you.
“What’s that look for?” When he doesn’t answer you try again… “Frankie? Are you ok?” He’s just, frozen. Not blinking. Not speaking or making any other movements…. “Frankie, hello??”
The haze in his eyes seems to clear all of a sudden and he blinks a few times before looking back down, “sorry…. I don’t, uh… not sure what happened there.”
“Did I say something?” You’re not sure what just happened, but it was really odd. He’s never been speechless before.
“No, no… I guess um, I don’t know. Guess I wasn’t prepared for,” he motions to the roll of ultrasound photos, “that….”
“Weren’t prepared for what?” You were genuinely confused as to what would cause him to act so strangely about the pictures. You worry that maybe he wasn’t actually as interested in the baby as he had originally let on or maybe you just took his kindness on the matter for interest. You suddenly felt a tight coil of embarrassment twist in your stomach.. “There was only a fifty-fifty chance for either a boy or a girl…. I, I didn’t think that would be strange..” You try not to sound defensive, but you’re not sure how to take his sudden shift in mood.
“No, no, not strange. I don’t know. I guess that it just felt like a big moment and you shared it with me. Did you guys do a reveal or something already? I figured I would’ve heard something about it…”
“No, you know Tom. So far, his only involvement with this baby was in making him.”
Fuck.
You realized the moment you said it that it was the wrong thing to say. You know that it shouldn’t matter, but for reasons beyond your control, you find yourself wanting to clarify your relationship with Tom. To express without saying out loud how you and Tom aren’t married in a traditional sense. That you don’t love him. That you never have. Instead you try to brush it off…
“What I mean to say is that he just isn’t into all of this baby stuff. He just assures me that he’s only worried about whether they are healthy.”
Frankie nods, looking back down at the ultrasound.
“Does Tom know it’s a boy?” Still looking down at the photo in his hands.
You’re quiet. No.
You hadn’t told Tom yet. Because you knew he didn’t care. You wanted to share it with someone who would be excited for you… You originally had planned to show your Mom this afternoon… she was already gushing over having a grandchild to spoil and would scold you about eating enough and limiting your intake of caffeine amongst other things. You knew that she would be happy for you regardless. But for some reason, you kept wondering about Frankie’s reaction. You wanted to see his face when you told him, but you didn’t yet understand why.
You had gotten pretty good at ignoring your inner self when it came to being around him. He was a friend and you were excited to share this news with your friend.
Or so you would tell yourself.
Finally you respond, “No. Tom doesn’t know yet. It doesn’t matter to him, Frankie. Tom could care less about what comes out of me as long as he doesn’t have to deal with it more than the minimum requirement. I thought —you would be excited is all. Another boy to join the group.”
You look down feeling foolish. You think you ruined this— whatever this thing was with Frankie was as good as done. You went too far this time and you regretted it instantly.
Frankie’s expression is hard to read, but you can tell he’s thinking. Like he’s trying as diligently as you are to be delicate here. Frankie gives a sigh…
“A boy huh?” You give a slight nod.
“That’s actually really fucking cool…”
Now it’s your turn to look up. What?
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to get quiet there. I’m honored that you decided to tell me, and I’m excited for you. Did you have any names already picked out for if it was a boy?”
“No. Not yet anyway. I’m uh, sure we will talk about it sometime soon though.” Your response is laced in confusion because he’s completely changed his tune. You’re not sure what to think, but you don’t question it for now.
You could tell Frankie was trying to ignore whatever it was that had startled him to begin with. It’s the same reason why you inwardly scolded yourself when you alluded to how you became pregnant…. You think you know, but you can’t even begin to fathom bringing it up. And how could you when you knew it was wrong? It didn’t feel wrong necessarily, but it wasn’t something that could ever happen.
The waitress chooses that moment to come take your order and you’re grateful for the interruption. The tension was getting to be too thick and you weren’t sure how to breach it.
You manage to keep the conversation pretty light, steering clear of the awkwardness from before. Frankie doesn’t bring it up again other than handing you back the ultrasound photos and patting your hand. You try not to focus on how warm his hand is and move on to talking about something else entirely.
Frankie gets the check, much to your dismay, but he hasn’t let you pay since the first (and only) time you bought him a coffee. Not letting you pay him back that next week even. You walk up together as he pays the bill and you both make your way outside.
Normally after lunch, you would head to your mother’s to either take her to a Doctor’s appointment or grocery shopping or out to pay bills etc But today she had let you know that her appointment had been rescheduled to the next week as the Doctor was out unexpectedly. You had just taken her grocery shopping last week and bills were lined up for the week after. She had told you to take the day off and just enjoy yourself… so you did. You just didn’t let anyone else know of your change in plans. Or lack thereof. You still had your appointment that morning and lunch with Frankie was always beneficial for your mental health so you figured that you would just cut the day short whenever you were ready to head back home.
You definitely weren’t ready to head home yet so after you told Frankie you would see him next week, you took your walk back to your car at a very slow leisurely pace. You were thinking that you could even take a walk through the park that you had always admired through the diner window. It was nice outside and you had plenty of time. Frankie apparently noticed.
“You ok over there??” He’s smiling, but looks clearly confused as you are normally quick to rush off after lunch.
“Huh? Oh, I’m sorry, yes I’m fine….” You chuckle lightly, “I guess I was just daydreaming a bit.”
“Daydreaming about what?”
“I was just thinking about taking a walk through the park over there…” You point toward the little grove of trees at the park entrance. “I look at it every week, but I’ve never been. I don’t have anywhere else I need to be today so I guess I’m not sure what to do with myself.”
An even more confused look crosses his face when he asks, “Aren’t Wednesdays when you drive your Mom around to run errands?”
“Her appointment was rescheduled. Today is my “day off””You put up air quotes with your fingers.
“Oh, well in that case, would you…” He hesitates…
“Um, well.. shit..” Frankie reaches up and rubs the back of his neck….
“What?” You ask with a laugh…
“Would you like some company? On your walk, I mean? If you’re not tired of me yet anyway.”
“Sure,” you can’t help the smile that graces your lips as you don’t even hesitate before answering. “I think I’d like that very much.” You know this is a bad idea, but you are more than happy to accept. You’re more bothered with the fact that it doesn’t bother you when you feel as though it should.
“Alright, well let’s go….” He offers you his arm like a gentleman and leads the way to the concrete path that begins at the mouth of the grove of trees. It’s always been so pretty, you’re anxious to see the rest.
You’ve been walking silently for a little while now, a comfortable quiet just being in each others’ presence. You’re not sure when, but you can almost feel it before he says anything…
“Can I ask you something? About you and Tom?
“Um, sure I guess. What would you like to know?”
“Since I first helped you with the car, I’ve wondered….. I know I got a little personal that day and I apologize for that. And let me know if I need to shut the hell up at any time, ok??”
“Alright,” you chuckle. “It’s ok. Just ask me and I’ll let you know if it gets too personal.”
“Ok, —I just… wanted to try and understand a little bit. About what you two actually are to each other?”
He looks over at you, hoping he didn’t cross a line, but it’s been nagging at him because the whole situation seems off.
“Well, that’s… a uh, good question.” You decide that it’s now or never. You feel OK. Your anxiety has been so much better lately that it's currently not making you want to crawl out of your skin at the question, so you just go for it.
“So here’s the thing, on paper we’re husband and wife. I just thought that that would feel differently than it does.”
“What do you mean?”
“I really shouldn’t be talking about this, but….”
“We don’t have to if you don’t want to. I just don’t understand.”
“It’s not, well, we didn’t…Gosh.. Ok, it's not a traditional marriage. More a matter of convenience.”
“Convenience? Convenient for who??”
You smirk. Tom. It’s always about what Tom wants. Frankie doesn’t need to know about how Tom came into your life, but he deserved to know that you never felt much for him. You’re not sure why, but you feel like you need to reassure him that this was never about love… even though he may think less of you for it. You wanted to be honest and hopefully he would understand.
“Well, we met shortly after I moved here. He was home from deployment and tried to sweep me off of my feet.”
“Did he?”
Your eyebrows raise… you didn’t expect that…
“Um… maybe not in the way you’d think. He more or less made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. I was responsible for my mother, and didn't have a lot of money…. He, um… promised me that he would take care of everything.”
You are trying to gauge his reaction…. You hoped he didn’t think you were just some floozy, only after someone for their money. You didn’t pursue him, it was the exact opposite. Looking back, you had honestly just taken yourself out of the equation entirely and calculated the best option for your mother at the time. Not that you had much of a choice.
“Why though? What did he want?”
You swallow… you were hoping he would just take the information and put two and two together… He didn’t.
“He wanted someone to come home to.”
“Oh.”
The two of you had slowed down your walk some time ago as the topic of conversation became more tense, but have since stopped completely. Instead of being side by side, you were facing each other. Frankie had put his arm down to let you free, but you didn’t go very far, still clinging slightly to the arm of his jacket.
“I hope you don’t think less of me Frankie. I’m not proud of it and I wish things could be different. At the time I was young, and was only worried about taking care of her. I’ve told you that she’s not exactly here legally.”
“I could never think less of you…. You were in a tough spot and someone offered you an out. No one could blame you for that….” The relief at his words is evident on your face however, he carries on.
“But, what does that mean for you? Are you at least happy?”
Happy? You weren’t even sure what that meant.
“I’m ok.”
Without missing a beat Frankie retorts back, “That’s not what I asked.”
“I guess I don’t know how to answer your question. If Tom knew we were talking, let alone talking about this, he would be furious.”
“Ok… so you’re in this situation right now. Are you able to get out of it? If you decided it wasn’t what you wanted anymore?”
You weren’t ready to tell Frankie why that was never going to be an option for you.
“It’s not that simple. It’s… complicated.”
Yeah that’s good. Answer the question with a very vague non-answer…… You can see him rolling the thought around, so you decide to try and just end the conversation altogether.
“Can we maybe just talk about something else? And please don’t tell Tom we talked about this….. please.”
The way you almost seem panicked has him agreeing instantly. “It’s ok…I won’t, uh, I won’t say anything.” You can tell he’s not satisfied with that answer, but you’re grateful he’s not pushing you.
You finish your walk through the park fairly quickly and neither of you have said much since you asked to change the subject. It felt awkward and you didn’t like how the normally easy peace you felt with Frankie suddenly seemed forced. You were again worrying that maybe you had ruined this. He had asked the question, are you at least happy, and you honestly didn’t know what answer he expected you to give.
“I um, I’m sorry. About earlier. I shouldn’t have asked you that.”
“It’s ok Frankie.”
A moment passes before Frankie suddenly stops you both. You think you see resignation on his face before he asks a question that you had been asking yourself for weeks.
“What are we doing??” You were still holding onto his jacket..
What were you doing? You weren’t ready to put a name on whatever it was you had with him. All you knew was that it felt good. It felt good to be talked to like an adult and you wanted to be selfish and cling to it for just a little bit longer.
“I don’t know.”
“Hm..” He gives you a slight nod, but doesn’t say anything else and neither do you. You walk in silence, albeit still peaceful, back to your car and his truck. He says he’ll see you next week and waves goodbye as he pulls out of the parking lot. Leaving you to your thoughts and the pang of knowing it was going to be another seven days before you would get the chance to breathe again.
Uh oh. You were definitely in trouble.

Den 146
Bum. Bum. Bum. Salva. A pak další.
Tumblr media
A taky že jo. Najednou je okolo mlha a všechno je mokré. Zase na mě prší ze stromů. Vosy kvůli vodě létají nízko a zas mě jedna píchne do pravého kotníku.
A dost brutální, i s halucinacemi.

Read the full article

🏵️ CALENDULA
For topical use, calendula has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral and immunostimulant activity, and promotes wound healing with wound healing activity.
Many of the formulations on the market therefore exploit its anti-inflammatory properties for external use (creams and ointments).
🏵️ ORGANIC ACTIVITY
Calendula has anti-inflammatory and healing properties.
These properties have been confirmed by several studies, so much so that the plant is widely used for the treatment of inflammation of the oropharyngeal cavity and to promote the healing of wounds and burns.
🏵️The anti-inflammatory activity is attributable to the triterpenes (in particular, faradiol and its derivatives) contained in the plant itself.
The healing activity is, however, exerted by the calendula extract through a mechanism of action that promotes the formation of granulation tissue and favors the increase in the production of collagen and fibrin.
(NB. Fibrin, specifically the "fibrin sponge" is a valid tool which is in fact also used in the surgical field to plug incisions in order to limit and reduce bleeding and its useless dispersion.
This effective technique also allows, among other things, a quicker recovery of the patient.)
Furthermore, from some studies conducted, calendula has demonstrated further therapeutic activities.

🏵️ CALENDULA
