Everything you need to know about MHA's INTERNATIONAL POPULARITY POLL

So, as we all know, MHA has ended after 10 years of its serialisation and to celebrate it, an international popularity poll is being held in which everyone can vote!! No matter who you are, or where you live. Anyone in the whole world can vote for their favourite HERO/VILLAIN.

YES, YOU CAN VOTE TOO!!

This poll will take place in two stages: MAIN STAGE and PLUS ULTRA STAGE.

Main Stage:

The MAIN STAGE will go for about two months, starting from August 5, 2024 to September 30, 2024. Meaning each person, no matter who you are, gets around 56-57 votes in total that started voting from day 1, but that's okay even if you came to know about it right now.

It is 13th August today, so you should still have around 49 votes remaining to vote for your favourite HERO/VILLAIN (Depending upon your Time Zone)

RESULT ANNOUNCEMENT:

Mid-term result announcement: September 1, 2024

Final Results announcement: 2nd December, 2024

The rules are pretty simple:

You can vote once per day.

The right to vote resets after each day at midnight according to JST(Japanese Standard Time).

Speaking as a Californian and my personal experience as a voter and in doing pollworking for the past couple elections...

If you got a Vote By Mail ballot, you can drop it off at any polling place/post office/ballot drop box (if it has the correct county envelope you got it with - the county will forward it to the correct county for vote counting, same as the post office). MAKE SURE YOU READ THE ENVELOPE BECAUSE YOU'LL NEED TO SIGN AND DATE THE ENVELOPE BEFORE YOU RETURN IT. (And your signature needs to resemble the one you signed when you registered.)

If you want to vote in-person, you will need to find a polling place WITHIN the county you're registered to vote in, preferrably your assigned precinct - you should check your county's website to find the location if you didn't get a notice by mail.

I don't know how every county does this, but in my county, the accessible ballot marking device has access to all the ballots in my county, which is great for people who can't find or travel to their assigned polling place during the poll hours. Each polling place only has access to pre-printed paper ballots from the precinct(s) assigned to it, which is why the accessible ballot marking device (which prints the ballot once you finish marking it) has been super important, since people tend to just go to any polling place they've heard about or used in the past. (And we DON'T have access to ANY ballots from a different county, not even on that device.)

Voting registration and vote collection is done by each county SEPARATELY, so you won't show up on a roster in another county, and they won't have the ballot you're eligible to vote on. You'd need to re-register/vote provisionally with the different county in order to vote on their ballots. (Which is why it's important to vote on the Vote By Mail ballot that was sent to you - it has all the races you're eligible to vote for, SO GO DIG IT OUT OF YOUR MAIL PILE AND VOTE ON IT, 'CAUSE THEY WERE SENT OUT IN LIKE JANUARY OR SOMETHING. If you haven't registered to vote yet, you can register on the same day you vote! (Again, this is for California, I don't know how other states do it.)

Again, make sure you find a place IN YOUR COUNTY, and try to vote at your assigned polling place, so your vote is counted where it matters!

TLDR: Order of importance:

1. Fill out the mail ballot that was sent to you. Take it to the post office, polling place, or official ballot drop box. It must be collected BEFORE THE POLLS CLOSE. Drop it off on your lunch break, if you need to get it in before closing time.

2. If you can't do that, go to your assigned polling place. (Check your county website.) Same importance as number 1, but you may have to wait in a line depending on what time you arrive.

3. If you can't do that, go to any polling place in the county you're registered to vote in.

4. Register/update your registration to vote. No one can be denied the right to vote at the end of the day, but if it's not with the county you're eligible to vote in, your ballot may be deemed ineligible. (I've never done anything on the ballot-counting side, so I definitely can't answer questions about that. If you're curious, you can get an answer by calling your specific county.)

Side note: do not wear any merch that has a candidate's name who's on the ballot while going to vote. This is electioneering, which is illegal. (Also includes any propositions or other items on the ballot.)

Why i think Dabi / Touya is still alive after chapter 430

#spoilers ahead

Ok first of all,this shit was so ass, i dont even wanna think about how the final chapter looks like it was set in a dark AU ending where nothing changes and rei looks older than ever, still pushing enjis wheelchair for the past 8 years🤮, shoto being a workaholic (and soon being num ONE). Shouldnt he be more focused on his friendships??

Plus, no mention of his siblings that his arc has been working on reconnecting him with. 🤮 So like...Enji won? Shoto will be number one after all wtff..

But id rather think about the fact that touya could still be alive after the timeskip. Here are a few reasons why..

No gravestone shown, no image of a shrine or a burial, hell..no mention of his death AT ALL unlike with toga or shigaraki, erasers friend and midnight...hell, deku even hallucinates shiggy. If touya was truly dead i feel like we wouldve seen a panel of his shrine or ANY indication if his death.

Society and tech have improved so much that quirkless deku can be a hero, so theres no way that touya, with a partial healing ice quirk isnt kept alive.

He was last shown to be 'slowly marching towards death' like BITCH thats literally what being alive is, we are all slowly marching towards death😭

This man is allergic to dying and i do believe that hori left his outcome ambiguous for a reason, if hori wanted to show touya dead he 100% would.

Shoto smiling..like bro would be smiling like that after his oldest brother passed away, like i said, intentionally hori is avoiding any mention of Touya, even natuso is not shown or mentioned, just that shoto has become a workaholic and on his way to being number one...

Plus the panel text is from Deku's pov. So its not todoroki's internal monolouge thats revealed, only his expression and hopefully thats an indicator that his siblings are ok.

Hori has 100% lost the plot lmao, the ending is so convoluted and out of character that theres simply no in universe reason why Touya would be straight up dead. Making shoto mention his father instead of his brothers or sister or MOTHER was certainly a choice🤮🤮🤮.

Old rei pushing enjis wheelchair is sickening and i dont wanna believe that shes still his maid if she has had to mourn touya a second time, its gross and literally a dark au cause wtf.

Since none of shotos siblings were mentioned, this empty space of detail lets us assume that shoto isnt stressing about them. If touya was dead we would see him visiting his shrine, in japanese culture, visiting gravestones and praying to shrines of the dead is symbollic.

I firmly believe that hori either got seriously sick (he said his ears were leaking fluid) or got pressured by his team (he said he cried when his management made him scrap an extra comic page he drew of dabi and sceptic on the past) , i believe that at this point, he didnt have a lot of creative control over his work and wasnt allowed to dedicate more panels to the LOV. HE HAD to prioritise enji and the characters at the top of the poll. When touya came 4th on the final poll, it was too late, his story became enji's story even though hori confessed that he had initially written enji to be killed off in the high end nomu fight.

The story is such a retconned mess, theres no way he wasnt planning shiggy and touya to be SAVED physically, literally touyas last panel is of him crying alone lmaoo.

IN BOTH of Horikoshi's previous serialized series the villains lived and got to reform and atone at the end..

But yeah, my end verdict is that hori intentionally didnt mention touya for the fans to theorise about him living💀

Why i think Horikoshi need some help.

So, sorry for my English but will try to explain my point of view why Horikoshi favor Katsuki Bakugo so much and doesn't like Izuku.

Problem is...Horikoshi really doesn't like Bakugo and He actually loves Izuku. But he is too afraid showing this. This is my opinion.

Reason for this is Horikoshis PTSD from his previous experience with Shonen Jump. As you know SJ has cruel practice closing Unpopular mangas without giving them any time to get popular. (Ironically this cruel practice lead SJ in bad condition they are now).

Horikoshi suffered from this deeply. He even stated in interview that he considered leaving manga industry and find other job. He even stated that he has nightmares about that times and waking up with horror thoughts that his manga will be closed. So this is only my POV, but i think Horikoshi has PTSD and need help..

You see, Shonen Jump is not very nice company. Its a horror place in reality. I don't know other shonen magazine which have so mant artists with ruined health. Which says a lot about their work atmosphere.. You could also read about their conflict with Dragon Ball rights to realize how they treat horribly their employees. For Shonen Jump mangakas is a trash that needs to be thrown out.. Nothing more.

So going back to Horikoshi. I think he doesn't like Bakugo as many claims. I nean doesn't like so much. He in reality loves Izuku at some way.

Problem is because of his past experience with Shonen Jump. Horikoshi become to dependent from popularity polls. And popularity overall. You could see that from his interviews. Like that villain academia (the best written arc in manga) was axed because lack of popularity. Or that Aoyama was supposed to be revealed traitor in Camp arc but Horikoshi was afraid it will low popularity. You could find many of them

So i think Horikoshi is so afraid of losing popularity that he try to please fans instead of telling his own story. Like he pushes Bakugo forward and forward excuses his actions because he is most popular. Meanwhile Deku seems on second place..

Also, I truly believe that Horikoshi originally planned different ending but SJ forced his to rewrite it in last minute. Just look hiw badly 430 chapter was written. No design changes, narration jumping and etc.

So because of Shonen Jump pushing him and because of dependent from popularity Horikoshis own story suffers a lot. Bakugo gets too much ridiculous spotlight. Horrible resurrection and no abuse recognition. Izuku sufferers as independent character. Whole story and almost all characters suffers because of that.

. Why we only see it in last arc? The answer is editors. First three Editors were the saviors for Horikoshi. They lead him in righg direction.

The last one... Imamura or whatever. I think he is the most horrible. Because he did nothing. 430 was not edited at all. Why he was put with Horikoshi? I don't know.

So i truly believe that if not Shonen Jump and Horikoshi PTSD we would get a great story. The only thing that could probably change Horikoshi behavior and point of view on Bakugo is the next film flop in box office. If next film will be dedicated to Bakugo i will be praying for it to flop hard . And SJ will lose money. Only that could make them think a little.
