I do think that a good chunk of killjoys are long-time sufferers of "if I don't make art I'll die" disease, but also I think amongst that demographic there's and even more niche, more annoying sub-demographic made up of people who treat art as solely a political statement and constantly get in shit with other crews/runners over disregarding Zone common sense or coming up with the most batshit insane and specific unwritten rules no one can really be assed to understand or even take the time of day to consider

I would urge everyone to take a break from major social media coverage of the election every so often. You owe it to yourself not to doom spiral. Yes, it is bad. But it’s not over for us. Queer people have always endured and we will continue to do so. You still have communities that love you and want you here. Check in with the people who support you in your life, rest, do what makes you happy. It sounds corny, but this isn’t an expression of “just pretend it’s not happening!” I think it’s important not to let them completely demoralize you. You are still wanted here.

No amount of 2014-era pop-feminism structural-issues-as-personal-praxis could ever get me fully comfortable with the way some politically incurious women would co-opt the rhetoric of the patriarchy for their own selfish/violent ends. Now that we've moved out of that time and I've become more aware of the intersectional implications I see it even more; the dehumanising way that some women talk about men is dangerous and frightening, and doesn't stop being so no matter the large-scale structural power dynamic at play.

If you can't see other humans as intrinsically human in the same way as you are, you are an unsafe person to be around, even if said humans are individually members of a structural "oppressor" demographic that holds societal power over your own.

Summoner potential is endless. You get an influencer who has perpetual tiktok voice and everyone considers it to be an accent (it... could be considered one?). And maybe with the right combination of magic and machinery (from Reginn's homeland) they can continue to do what they do. You get a Christian missionary who considers it "Part of His Plan" that they've arrived here to "Do The Lord's work and spread the good word" (this probably has extreme political repercussions whether they are well-meaning or deeply evil using this as a revenue for power/control. It's a whole ass historical domino effect). You get a conspiracy theorist with an INCREDIBLY skewed perception of the world, so whenever any Hero asks Anything about that Summoner's world, you're just getting bunk information. Net-negative information. Summoner, who when the Miriel FBs took place, believes the moon landing was faked and that the earth is flat. You get an evil politician and the Order just kills them within a week and goes back to the drawing board (self indulgent scenario. More compelling hypothetical would be the Order being forced to work with that guy, much like the fallen Heroes, becomes a whole ass political drama. Also might depend on how evil the politician is though, sometimes you do just have to make it look like an accident). You get the opposite end of political radicalization where this Summoner is disenfranchised and among many things is anti-monarchy, making all the royals and nobles within the Order's ranks a bit uncomfortable. Theres too much going on regarding American politics it scarily mirrors the Nazi Regime.

The Supreme Court just overruled Cheveron v NRD. Which in simple terms means, they just stripped experts in their respective fields of their RIGHTS to speak on and determine whats proper for the FDA, Safety in Aviation, healthcare, social security, education, civil rights, WORKERS rights, the environment etc. People are going to lose their jobs or have to “transfer” because of this.

More importantly the judiciary branch can now take payouts and implement whatever they’d like, experts be damned. Now the supreme court holds all the power & a certain party has made it clear that they will take away abortion nation wide, same sex marriage, interracial marriage, the right to privacy and more. I suggest you all look into Project 2025!

To make matters worse the supreme court LITERALLY just ruled that homelessness is illegal….it’s about to get scary
