How I would rewrite Pokemon Journeys//Improve on it as well.

SO YEAH!!! I’m posting this cause I Love the Pokemon anime and I think Journeys could have done a bit better with its Storylines and stuff like that.

So for this post I’m gonna try to rewrite the Pokemon Journeys Anime. (But I need to explain a few rules first…)

1 - The Series will be like Journeys with a few differences.

It’s still a World traveling Series with Different Pokemon Regions and stuff like that, But for the first season alone. It will be centered around Galar for the Darkest day ARC (Which will set up the events in the future and stuff like that.)

Also! Project mew will be intertwined into the Bigger plot of this series and the characters who are in Project mew will get Backstory and more character moments so they are not left in the dust.

2 - Movie exclusive characters and Characters of the day from Before and during Journeys will appear in the Rewrite.

Like for example…

Doyle from that one BW episode! For the rewrite I could see him working with Looker and Emma as they investigate into the mysterious things going on at the Chairman Rose corporation in Galar.

Or Regina! She can be a semi-Temporary Traveling companion for Ash, Goh, Chloe and Gloria as they travel to the Isle of Armor for a Story Arc of some kind then she returns for the Galar League against Leon! (Quick note: The Masters 8 Tournament will still happen, it’s still being set up by Leon when he becomes the chairman of the League so I could see it happening around Gen 10 or 11.)

Also yes! There will be 4 Main characters like in the XYZ Anime with Serena, Bonnie and Clemont and Ash.

The Journeys Gang will be…

1 - Ash Ketchum: The Protagonist.

2 - Goh: Ash’s newest friend and wants to catch Mew themselves! (He will be part of the Project mew storyline.)

3 - Chloe: She is Gohs Childhood friend and is still figuring out what she wants to do with her life. (She will still have Eevee.)

4 - Gloria!: She is Hops Childhood friend and is still new to her Pokemon Journey so far!

3 - Also! The Rivals! Who are the Rivals of this rewrite?!

1 - Rinto: He is a Male Pokemon Trainer from Sinnoh but also has connections to Paldea.

2 - Bede: He is the Student/Apprentice of Chairman rose and is like His game counterpart and stuff like that.

3 - Marnie: She is Peirs younger sister and she wants to win the league so she can give her hometown the attention it deserves due to hard times and stuff like that.

4 - The other Coronation series Trainers that Ash has met (I don’t really care who I pick for the rewrite I just want to give them backstory or something.)

5 - Hop: He is basically his game counterpart and his game story will be explained in the rewrite. His Goal is to get out of his Brothers shadow and become the strongest trainer in the world!!!

6 - Victor: He is Gloria’s Older Brother and is currently on a Journey on his own. He will be one of the Coranation series participants that Ash fights.

4 - The Episode structure.

There will be different kinds of episodes for the rewrite, Though these different kinds of episodes could mix with each other due to how they are written.

Type #1 - Region focused Episode: A Past character or Game character could appear or Ash could battle a Gym leader.

Type #2 - Coronation series Battle: Ash basically Battles someone like a Random trainer/Gym leader/Elite 4 member or Champion/Game character for the entire episode.

Type #3 - Filler episode: This Episode is usually an improved version of a Filler episode from Journeys…

Example: The 80th Episode of Journeys has The character Nito; He is a Pokemon Hunter and he gets arrested and stuff like that. But what if it turns out that he was hired by Chairman Rose?! Hm? He was hired so he could catch more pokemon for Chairman roses Experiments on Pokemon! SHOCKING RIGHT?! SO INTERESTING!!!

and when I mean “Experiments” I’m referring to the Dynamaxing experiments for the Darkest Day storyline so when we get to the Pokemon League storyline near the end of The Rewrite, He will release the Pokemon Eternatus and cause Chaos!

Though I do admit that I didn’t write any of this yet, So I’m still figuring out if I should use a different name for the 1st Arc instead of calling it “The Darkest day.” (It gets confusing.)

My Replacement idea is that when Chairman rose is testing one of his Pokemon experiments, It causes the Energy points around Galar to act up and stuff like that. (I got this one idea from Loumiose Trainer Zac’s Sword and shield rewrite on YouTube. CHECK IT OUT ITS PRETTY GOOD PLEASE!!!)

and that’s what I got so far for my rewrite.

The rewrite would basically be a mix of World hopping and the main story being centered around Galar.

Oh! I forgot to mention the Hisui and Gen 4 remakes!!!

For the Gen 4 remake episodes with Dawn; I would keep them but change the one where they go to an alternate universe with AU Ash and AU Dawn.

I would change that episode to where The Journeys Gang meets the characters from the AU Ash Movies (Movies 20/21 and 23? I forgot when movie 23 came out so I don’t know if it would fit or not.)

I would like to see Canon Ash meet Cross and Sorrel and Dawn meeting Verity from Movie 20.

Sorrel could also meet the XYZ characters and have a Angst filled moment with Clemont about his Dead Luxray or something like that.

and the Hisui special could be swapped with a mini Arc or just keep the specials in the style of a Netflix movie.

With the release of the Pokémon Home update, the first thing I did was

Traded a Scream Tail for an Iron Bundle because I wanted my own Robot Murder Penguin™

And freed Kiara from her Pokémon Home limbo, unable to return to Alola or pass on to the Switch ever since I transferred her from Bank to Home in 2020/21 during the mass exodus because of my 3DS being on life support.

Poor thing hasn't seen the sun since Ultra Moon.

Miyamoto is Jessie's mother (pictured on the left). She was Madame Boss's number one operative. They're both from The Birth of Mewtwo, a radio drama that was released with the first Pokémon movie and takes place 20 years prior to the events in the anime. Very much worth a listen~

trying acid for the first time in nam-gyu’s room.

‘‘where did you even get this?’’ you ask curiously looking at the small piece of paper in his hand.

‘‘don’t worry y/n, they are safe’’ nam-gyu responds looking up at you reassuring you.

‘‘okay so these are called blotters, you just place it on your tongue and shallow it after a few minutes’’ he starts explaining, taking the paper out of the bag showing it off.

seeing nam-gyu this calm kinda freaks you out, you are about to do hard-drugs and he is acting like everything is okay.

sure you’ve tried some things, mostly at parties. nam-gyu or su-bong, (also known as thanos) sometimes brought these new drugs to try out.

a few months earlier

‘‘yooo look at these beauties’’ the purple headed boy said walking towards the duo.

you and nam-gyu look up at him holding a bottle with colourful pills.

‘‘..so what do we think?’’ su-bong asks grinning.

‘‘fuck yeah’’ nam-gyu answers grabbing the bag out of his hands and walking over towards the couch.

present

you are currently sitting on nam-gyu’s bed, sitting across him.

you look around the room nervously spotting pokémon and anime figurines, oh my good you are doing drugs with an actual geek.

‘‘here’’ he speaks up suddenly, handing you a tiny piece of paper.

then the boy starts counting down, meaning you have to take this pill in about 10 seconds.

fuck.

‘‘okay go’’ he says, placing the tiny piece of paper on his tongue.

he reaches out to grab your hand, trying to assure you everything will be fine.

after about 20 minutes of not feeling anything we decided to watch a movie, so there you were laying next to nam-gyu watching spiderman.

a few moments later you decide to grab your phone but before you can grab your phone you freeze.

‘‘oh my god’’ you yelp, looking at your own hand.

‘‘what?’’ nam-gyu asks sitting up a little more, looking at you with a concerned face.

you quickly put up your hand showing nam-gyu what you are seeing right now.

‘‘oh my god nam-gyu why do i have 7 fingers’’ you speak up seriously scared, where the fuck did those two fingers come from?

the boy bursts out laughing, holding his stomach.

‘‘y/n omg, what are you talking ab-’’ he starts before you cut him off.

‘‘don’t laugh! i am fucking ter-’’ you start, looking at the boy who is still laughing at you.

nam-gyu scoots over to you and grabs your hand, he brings his hand to yours.

you stare at his hand, counting the fingers on his hand and realize you have to same amount.

what the fuck?

you swear you saw seven fingers on your hand a few seconds ago.

‘‘y/n you are fine i promise, it’s the acid’’ he says locking his fingers into yours, holding your hand.

‘‘h-how are you not freaking out right now?’’ you ask the boy shaking your head.

he grabs your face with the same grin from before, ‘‘you don’t have to worry about me baby, i know what i am doing’’.

it feels like you are floating, it’s hard to describe but it’s like you are on this cloud. it’s actually kind of relaxing when you try to focus on good things.

when you look at nam-gyu you notice he is just focused on the things in his room, trying to stay calm and have a good trip.

he notices you staring and places his hand on your thigh, wondering what is going on in your head right now.

‘‘you good mhm?’’ he asks, scooting closer by the second.

it still feels like you are floating, this euphoric feeling is the best thing you’ve ever experienced. you notice nam-gyu scooting over and you decide to play in on it.

there you were, centimeters apart from the boy who looks annoyingly good right now.

the world around you faded as he lifted his hand, brushing a stray strand of hair from your face. his fingers lingered, tracing the line of your jaw before cupping your cheek. you leaned into his touch, your heartbeat racing as your eyes fluttered shut.

nam-gyu closed the space between the two of you, his lips brushing yours with a tenderness that stole your breath. the kiss deepened, slow and deliberate, like you had all the time in the world. your hands found his shoulders, then slid up to tangle in his hair, pulling him closer.

‘‘hey nam-gyu, did you steal my weed it’s fine if you-’’ a voice speaks up.

su-bong walks into nam-gyu’s room complaining about losing his weed, he doesn’t even bother to look up.

and when he does he can’t believe what he is seeing.

‘‘oh my fucking god no way-’’ he says shocked.

his two friends making out and the worst part?

he wasn’t invited.

when nam-gyu hears the voice he immediately falls of his bed, spotting his best friend.

you look up at the scene and cover your face with a pillow, embarassed.

‘‘dude? what the fuck are you doing here?’’ nam-gyu yells, getting up from the ground.

‘‘bro you have me your keys a few months ba- no no don’t change the subject dipshit’’ the purple haired boy speaks up still not believing his eyes.

‘‘omg kill me’’ you speak up wanting to disappear, you look up at su-bong awkwardly smiling at him.

‘‘it was uh-’’ nam-gyu starts, trying to explain what his friend just saw.

‘‘the acid! we uh- yeah we were uh-’’ you say trying to find a good excuse.

su-bong looks at the two of you, trying to see if one of you is lying.

‘‘…whatever, do y’all want to watch naruto?’’ he says plopping down on the bed next to you.

It's been said pretty much for years now that they planned a series for Netflix, and the leaks confirmed it. Eight episodes were planned for a release this year. It's live-action. This isn't Concierge.

Misc. HZ leaks. (Info potentially subject to change)

Liko and Roy are 13 and 12 respectively. Still canon to me.

Dot initially wasn't planned. Quaxly would have gone to Liko or Roy.

Friede is 20s-ish while Orla is 18. (Finalized versions seem to be older, just given the previous flashback in Ep18 has a 4-6yr old Liko, and Orla already appeared to be an adult there)

Friede betrays the RVT and joins the Explorers, something about a missing brother? (Which has never been alluded to, so doubt.)

Original six Heroes were supposed to be Blastoise, Pachirisu, Rayquaza, Entei, Moltres, and Zeraora.

2yr timeskip after acquiring all 6 Heroes

Two Terapagos, the one from Laqua and the Area Zero one (The latter is deceased.)

Three year storyline intended, so perhaps ending in 2025? That said, Terastal Training arc wasn't originally intended so might go on for longer. According to the leaks, ZA was intended for this year, so they might have pushed back the anime a bit too.

Was originally intended to be a movie, with Ash returning for an SV series (with recurring characters like Leon and Goh), but that was scrapped and HZ became the full series instead.

Ash was intended to have a Capsakid, Klawf, and Fuecoco.

Still set in Ashime verse.

A new movie was planned too. Codename Bauer. Was set to be released in 2023, but might either be in development hell or be cancelled. New Pokemon named Aperon, with the main protagonist being a new character named Akari. It's set in modern-day Kanto and the featured Mythical Pokémon of the plot is Mew. The idea was that the film will touch modern society problems, like cyber bullying.

There was also sequel to Detective Pikachu called "The Great Detective Pikachu" set to be released this year. We don't know if the project is still ongoing or cancelled. I also don't know if this is like a proper image leak, or just something a fan threw together in response to the new information.

Another new anime, code name RELOAD.

This is an all-ages anime series co-produced with Twin Engine (TE), a planning and production company affiliated with Studio Colorido.

12 episodes over the course of a year, 21min each.

The 12 episodes will be split into 4 groups of 3 episodes each, with event screenings in Japanese theaters, and have a wide distribution across online streaming platforms.

Originally planned for release in 2023, current status unknown.

Pure Vanilla as a Pokemon: Normal/Psychic (thought of Normal/Fairy, but I thought Psychic may suit him better bc of his magic + the Light of Truth + the association with intelligence/knowledge the Psychic type has always had)

Pure Vanilla as a trainer: The very first Pokemon that came to my mind was Audino. Something about Vanilla says he'd be an Audino guy. I'm not even sure what it is, Blissey would probably be slightly more fitting, but I keep imagining him being besties with an Audino and it's adorable to me

Hollyberry as a Pokemon: Normal/Fighting, I think (or perhaps Fairy/Fighting, because of Fairy's power over and invulnerability towards Dragon)

Hollyberry as a trainer: Hmm... Bastiodon kind of feels like the easy way out tbh. Tinkaton would be funny (but suits Princess a lot better imo). Chesnaught reflects her fighting style and personality pretty well... Chesnaught it is

Dark Cacao as a Pokemon: Dark/Fighting for sure (I considered Dark/Ice as well, but I just can't ignore the Fighting type for him. I feel like I'd be committing a crime if I did. Also, I don't think he's actually from the Great Icing Ridge? It's not super clear, but Might of the Ancients made it seem like he was a traveler from somewhere else. That could perhaps be used as justification for shelving the Ice type for him. (Also also you don't NEED to be Ice-type to live in cold places, plenty of other types seen in snowy biomes in Pokemon)

Dark Cacao as a trainer: Man would be rocking a Kingambit, change my mind

Golden Cheese as a Pokemon: Ground/Flying, duh. (Or maybe Rock/Flying? Ground seems better idk)

Golden Cheese as a trainer: It's hard. There are so many Pokemon that would suit her imo. Sableye. Diancie. Persian (Kantonian or Alolan, doesn't matter). Unfezant (female, the Pokedex repeatedly lists them as superior fliers). But... keeping with the lore of both CRK and Pokemon... I think, after she wakes up and reenters the world, all Golden should have is the one Sigilyph left in the entire desert, who chose to be loyal to her and the kingdom to the very end and beyond

Just want to note that Golden Cheese would be besties with Olivia and you cannot change my mind on that

White Lily as a Pokemon: Grass/Fairy with some Dark-type moves available in her movepool as a nod to her being Dark Enchantress, change my mind

White Lily as a trainer: FLORGES! WHITE FLOWER FORM! RAAAAHHHHHHH

Shadow Milk as a Pokemon: Dark/Psychic, duh

Shadow Milk as a trainer: this one is tough tbh. Malamar? Banette? Zoroark (Unovan)? Probably Malamar due to its natural malevolence and hypnotism powers tbh (but the other two are so compelling... why did I limit myself to an ace for each of them...). Also, I think he would've had a Slowking as a hero

Eternal Sugar as a Pokemon: leaning towards Fairy/Poison, latter because I've already been imagining her as a succubus of some sort and Poison suits that better (yes I know she has wings, Flying is a basic bitch answer and not all winged Pokemon are classified as Flying-types)

Eternal Sugar as a trainer: Komala is right there... but so is Musharna :/ (lots of "dream eater" Pokemon would suit her probably. Which is funny bc most of those are Ghost-types lol)

Mystic Flour as a Pokemon: Psychic at the very least. Not sure about a second type though... (or just make her Mewtwo from the anime/movies, they've got the same genocidal emo attitude lol)

Mystic Flour as a trainer: Girlie gets an Espeon, the end. (Maybe she knew Jirachi once upon a time)

Burning Spice as a Pokemon: Fire/Fighting (thought of Fire/Dark too, but... same deal as with Cacao, if I didn't add Fighting I'd probably go to jail)

Burning Spice as a trainer: Incineroar Incineroar Incineroar Incineroar Incineroar Incineroar Incineroar- (he'd suck ass as a trainer though, just because I know he'd treat his Pokemon terribly, the same way he mistreats the Wild Spices...)

Silent Salt as a Pokemon: Dark/Steel. Like. Come on lol

Silent Salt as a trainer: Something else that would land me in prison is not giving Salt an Aegislash lol. Or maybe a Bisharp. And a Corviknight. (Perhaps he would have met Cobalion while he was still a hero)

Rise of the Guardians Dash n Drop

The mobile game by PikPok and released in the App Store and Google Play. It stayed online for years but ultimately was taken down in 2016.

This game, by every right, should have been what was released on game consoles everywhere. The graphics, music, and gameplay are all brilliantly done. The game is fun, addictive, and incredibly challenging without being frustrating. It has only one single control, something that should make this unbelievably simple to play but creates a difficulty in maneuvering around the constant enemies approaching from all sides.

This likely encourages the purchase of boosts in the workshop, but the lack of negative consequences to losing a level means you don't experience the frustration that fuels in-app game purchases.

The price of coins is reasonable for the cost of each lower level boost. For $20 you can get 1,500 Holiday shields, protecting you from 4,500 nightmare attacks. (In 2012 I was making $10 an hour, the cost of the ticket to see this movie was $8)

And that's not the only boost, as you progress across the cities you begin to gain support from your fellow Guardians, who will attack or block the Nightmares to protect your sliegh.

From Sandy turning them into Coins, recouping part of your purchase, to Jack freezing them in place making them harmless or easily breakable if you run into them. These boosts are not just a purchase item, you can collect them as you go, either by themselves or by rescuing Elves on the way.

Like all mobile games they keep you coming back with daily goals, and get you started with rewards for logging in on Facebook and joining their group or liking them. So you don't have to spend real money on coins if you didn't want to.

And a Leaderboard so you could see how you were stacking up with fans around the world.

Although its no longer in the app store if you have an older Android phone, or download the Vmos app and run an older version of Android on your phone, you may still be able to download and play the game HERE. This is a fully downloadable app, but I have not been able to verify if it still works disconnected from the developers.

What was wrong with JN30?

I wasn’t really involved in the fandom back when the episode was released, so I’m not sure how everyone here reacted back then. But I often see people saying that it’s a terrible episode, and it makes me wonder just what was so bad about it.

There was lead up to the episode

The conflict didn’t just come out of nowhere, there was foreshadowing. Riolu called to Ash as an egg, and there are even some hints it might be the Lucario from movie 7 reincarnated. So, Ash has a very strong connection to Riolu, they both have a passion for battle and are eager to get stronger, and Riolu is still a baby and has a lot to learn. Put that together, and Ash is hyperfocused on Riolu.

The episode was also part of a theme the writers were exploring. The Pidove episode taught Chloe about jealousy and how to handle it when it comes up. But it was also there to introduce us to the concept before we watched Ash and Pikachu go through something similar. I think maybe some people are annoyed that Chloe is the one who figured out what was going on, but it makes sense it was her. In the Journeys trio, Ash instinctively understands Pokemon but misses stuff because he’s unobservant, Goh is observant but has to learn how to deduce what Pokémon are feeling, and Chloe is a mix of them. She is observant like Goh and has an instinctive understanding like Ash.

Ash and Pikachu’s bond

The episode was meant to explore what happens when Ash and Pikachu’s bad traits clash. Ash can forget to slow down and consider others feelings, and Pikachu can be stubborn and mischievous. They are extremely close, but isn’t it the people you’re closest with that you have the worst disagreements with? Pikachu is used to being Ash’s favorite, so of course it got upset when Riolu was getting special attention.

In the end, the episode strengthens their bond and they understand each other even better. One of the things Journeys explores in Ash’s character arc is him learning to slow down so he doesn’t overlook how people or Pokemon are feeling. I would have to do a rewatch to be sure, but I think this episode is a turning point for that part of his development.

The real problem

The real issue is that, in some fans eyes, Ash and Pikachu aren’t allowed to make mistakes anymore. They have so much history, have won so many battles, and been through so much together. Now, this far along in their journey, they have to be perfect. Ash can’t lose battles anymore, and off days can’t exist for him. Pikachu has to be the perfect big brother figure to all of Ash’s other Pokemon. Ash and Pikachu can’t have a fight, because it’ll ruin 20+ years of their history together.

Looking back, I think the reaction to this episode is one of the things that showed that Ash’s time was coming to an end. If fans get angry when there’s a character conflict, that doesn’t leave much room for the character to do anything.

Kaiju Week in Review (January 14-20, 2024)

Ultraman Blazar's finale aired on Friday. It was a solid capper to what's easily the best entry in the Ultra Series since I was an undergrad, full of heart and pyrotechnics. There were a few major loose ends—Captain Gento is better at keeping secrets than most hosts—which I'm hoping the movie, due in late February, will address. If you're looking for a place to start with the long-running franchise, it would be one of my first recommendations. Great effects, great cast, tons of new kaiju, and a blend of novelty (lots of focus on the tensions between the defense team and the larger monster-fighting organization; a host who's in charge of said defense team) and returning to form (Blazar yowls plenty but is an Ultra of few words; the power-ups and goofy weapons are kept to a minimum). And even if you don't want to commit to a whole show, episode 22, focusing on a hapless salesman of kaiju insurance, is a must-see for any fan of the genre. There seem to be no worlds left to conquer at Tsuburaya for lead director Kiyotaka Taguchi, so as I've been saying since around 2015: Toho, are you paying attention?

Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color, the regraded black and white version of Godzilla Minus One, is coming to North American theaters for one week starting January 26. Toho's yanking both versions from theaters after February 1—puzzling considering that the film is likely going to be nominated for the Best Visual Effects Oscar tomorrow. Takashi Yamazaki led a Godzilla delegation to the Academy's visual effects "bakeoff", in which voters watch highlights from the ten shortlisted films and their VFX teams explain their work. IndieWire reports that Yamazaki's presentation drew the most applause, describing Minus One as the "potential frontrunner." The Hollywood Reporter likes its chances too. Nominations will be announced starting at 8:30 AM EST. The Creator seems to be its biggest competition.

Godzilla Minus One also recently cleared $50 million at the U.S. box office, in the process passing the first Demon Slayer as the highest-grossing Japanese-language film ever released in the U.S. Some outlets are reporting that it's the highest-grossing Japanese film ever released here, which isn't accurate; the English-dubbed Pokémon: The First Movie made almost $86 million back in 1999. (And I think it's plausible that something like Rodan or Godzilla vs. Megalon would be the champ if you figured out how much they grossed and adjusted for inflation.)

Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong #4 brought Godzilla and Tiamat to Atlantis, forcing Aquaman to release the Kraken to defend his city. Incredibly, this is the third Kraken associated with the Monsterverse, after Na Kika (called Kraken when it was introduced in the King of the Monsters novelization) and the main antagonist of the Skull Island cartoon. I'm guessing it's going to have a shorter lifespan than either of them though.

In other Godzilla comic news, IDW will be putting out another intriguing one-shot in May, titled Godzilla: Mechagodzilla 50th Anniversary. Past comics from the publisher have included multiple Mechagodzilla models, but this one seems to be going above and beyond. Rich Douek is writing; Andrew Lee Griffith is illustrating. The logline:

For 50 years, the King of the Monsters, Godzilla, has gone toe to toe with its robotic doppelgänger, Mechagodzilla! As an intrepid reporter profiles the history of Mechagodzilla and its creator before the launch of the newest model, he finds himself entangled in a much deeper conspiracy. A decades-spanning adventure celebrating the mechanical monster's milestone!

One of master kaiju illustrator Shinji Nishikawa's books will receive an English translation courtesy of Titan Books. Awkwardly titled Godzilla: The Encyclopedia of Godzilla, the Japanese edition included over 100 full-bodied illustrations of various Godzilla series kaiju and analyses of their designs (alongside plenty of Nishikawa's trademark chibis). I'm sold, suffice to say.

Ryo Momota, director of the short tokusatsu film Revive! Smile Rock Giant God, has put the whole thing on YouTube with English subtitles for your amusement. It posits that a real rock formation outside of Tamano City will come to life to help its citizens in their hour of need. Very low-budget.

Kaiju Brooklyn is a one-day con that began filling a longtime void for East Coast kaiju fans last year. Here's the first major piece of news about their June 1 event: they'll be screening The Return of Godzilla outdoors at day's end. Consider me highly tempted.

Kaiju United has a new, wide-ranging interview with Barry Goldberg, webmaster of the legendary Barry's Temple of Godzilla. That fan site was my first window into the wider world of Godzilla in the early 2000s, and it's only been updated a few times since, so I was pretty interested to read how its creator was doing. Don't get your hopes up for a revival: he's still a Godzilla fan (loved Minus One, Shin not so much), but has moved on to other things. Great insights from a Big Name Fan who stayed humble.
