This week I will be playing Dark nights with poe and munro on tuesday at 6pm. This is a spooky FMV game that I'm excited to check out.
On thursday at our regular slot of 4pm I will be hunting spooky ghosts with some phasmophobia

having a hyperfixation on games with small fandoms is actually the worst because what am i supposed to do when i've *literally* watched every playthrough of it that's on youtube and played it myself nineteen times and basically know more about it than the developers themselves ???????

A-Z Challenge GAME 4
A game is done. B game is short. C is getting voted on now, but I also have far too many options for this one.
(Seriously, this started with 9 options) (...I'm just a very indecisive person okay. ><)
As always, more info about the game options below the cut, including blurbs, tags, and trailers. DOTO I played once and will eventually play again, whether as part of this challenge or not, it's just a matter of getting around to it.

Section 80. Album Review
Kendrick Lamar is one of the many artists who I have discovered and listened to their music and discography. But Kendrick’s discography… is built different… in the most perfect way possible. He has the best discography I have ever seen in my life. Everything from Section 80. To Mr. Morale and The Big Steppers. I’m not gonna go over every track on this album, but I’ll go over pros and cons.
Section 80. is Kendrick’s first album and before you say, “what about Overly Dedicated?”. Well, that’s a mixtape. This is Kendrick’s first album and it is very different from his more recent stuff. Don’t get me wrong, I really like this album. But I prefer the stuff after. The vibe of the album is so vibrant and yet so different and unique. Songs like A.D.H.D, Ronald Reagan Era and Rigamortus are catchy and fun to listen to, while others like Keisha’s Song (Her Evils) and Poe Mans Dreams (His Vice) are more important and emotional.
The album is told as like telling stories around a campfire and while I do enjoy it a lot. I just prefer how other Kendrick albums are told more.
The best song on this album for me is definitely HiiiPower.
The worst one is No Make Up (Her Vice). I’m sorry. But the only song that I don’t like from Kendrick is actually this one. Kendrick is just ok and Colin Munroe is not good on this at all. But that’s all of the real negative stuff there is for Kendrick’s entire discography. It’s all uphill from here.
Overall: a very vibey album with some very serious stuff in here, blending in with the more catchy stuff. But I’m more excited to tell everyone my opinion on Kendrick Lamar as a whole. But for now, this is the blueprint for his next album. 8/10.

Tim Blake Nelson in the title segment of The Ballad of Buster Scruggs
James Franco in the "Near Algodones" segment of The Ballad of Buster Scruggs
Liam Neeson in the "Meal Ticket" segment of The Ballad of Buster Scruggs
Tom Waits in the "All Gold Canyon" segment of The Ballad of Buster Scruggs
Grainger Hines in "The Gal Who Got Rattled" segment of The Ballad of Buster Scruggs
Jonjo O'Neill and Brendan Gleeson in "The Mortal Remains" segment of The Ballad of Buster Scruggs
The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (Joel Coen and Ethan Coen, 2018)
Cast: Tim Blake Nelson, Willie Watson, Clancy Brown, Danny McCarthy, David Krumholtz, James Franco, Stephen Root, Ralph Ineson, Jesse Luken, Liam Neeson, Harry Melling,  Jiji Hise, Paul Rae, Tom Waits, Sam Dillon, Bill Heck, Zoe Kazan, Grainger Hines, Jefferson Mays, Jonjo O'Neill, Brendan Gleeson, Saul Rubinek, Tyne Daly, Chelcie Ross. Screenplay: Joel Coen, Ethan Coen, "All Gold Canyon" segment based on a story by Jack London, "The Gal Who Got Rattled" segment based on a story by Stewart Edward White. Cinematography: Bruno Delbonnel. Production design: Jess Gonchor. Film editing: Joel Coen, Ethan Coen. Music: Carter Burwell. The six short films collected into The Ballad of Buster Scruggs are set in the central period of the American myth, the Old West, and they evoke major American writers like Edgar Allan Poe, Mark Twain, and William Faulkner, as well as the two chroniclers of the vanishing American wilderness cited as sources for the segments "All Gold Canyon" and "The Gal Who Got Rattled," Jack London and Stewart Edward White. It's a very "literary" film whose characters often don't just talk, they orate, in florid 19th-century diction. And it's a film based in that American folk genre, the tall tale. Those who task the Coens with cynicism and coldness will find ammunition in all of these short films for their argument: Every good deed or noble intention in these stories gets thwarted or maimed. There's probably no crueler story on film than the "Meal Ticket" segment. And yet, we treasure Poe and Twain and Faulkner for their frequent heartlessness, praising their ironic vision. Is it that we expect more warmth from our movies than from our literature? As a genre, the anthology film has gone out of favor, largely because so many of them are uneven in quality, and while it's easy to rank the segments of The Ballad of Buster Scruggs -- I would put "The Gal Who Got Rattled" at the top and "Near Algodones" at the bottom -- the Coens have a unifying vision that makes each segment play off of the others, the way short stories in an anthology by Alice Munro or George Saunders set up reverberations among themselves.

Childhood Nostalgia
Suzy-hang-around - ABBA// Puff the Magic Dragon - Peter, Paul, and Mary// Lose Myself - k?d// Community - Foosball and Nocturnal Vigilantism// The Prelude (Book 2) - William Wordsworth// The Lumber Room - H.H. Munro// Kung Fu Hustle (2004) - Dir. Stephen Chow// Alone - Edgar Allan Poe// Slowtown - twenty one pilots
[ID/
1. Suzy was nine and I was ten/ Right at the time when boys like to think they're men/ She used to follow us at school/ We really thought that she was a little fool/ And one day we said to her/ We don't want to hurt you girl/ But you'd better/ Look for a friend of your own, Suzy-hang-around/ Better come back when you're grown, Suzy-hang-around
2. Puff, the magic dragon, lived by the sea/ And frolicked in the autumn mist, in a land called Honah Lee/ Little Jackie Paper loved that rascal Puff/ And brought him strings, and sealing wax, and other fancy stuff .... A dragon lives forever, but not so little boys/ Painted wings and giant's rings make way for other toys/ One gray night it happened, Jackie Paper came no more/ And Puff, that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar
3. We got a little older, you left home/ I stayed behind, got high, then hit the road/ I've been just fine without you/ But I can't find no one like you/ Every now and then I think of when we broke
4. Screencaps from Community showing Jeff(Joel McHale) and Shirley(Yvette Nicole Brown) linking their arms and smiling. As they walk away the image transforms to the characters as children walking with linked arms.
5. A grey Stone/ Of native rock, left midway in the Square/ Of our small market Village, was the home/ And centre of these joys, and when, return'd/ After long absence, thither I repair'd,/ I found that it was split, and gone to build/ A smart Assembly-room that perk'd and flar'd/ With wash and rough-cast elbowing the ground/ Which had been ours. But let the fiddle scream,/ And be ye happy! yet, my Friends! I know/ That more than one of you will think with me/ Of those soft starry nights, and that old Dame/ From whom the stone was nam'd who there had sate/ And watch'd her Table with its huckster's wares/ Assiduous, thro' the length of sixty years.
6. "You are not to go into the gooseberry garden," said the aunt, changing the subject. "Why not?" demanded Nicholas. "Because you are in disgrace," said the aunt loftily. Nicholas did not admit the flawlessness of the reasoning; he felt perfectly capable of being in disgrace and in a gooseberry garden at the same moment. His face took on an expression of considerable obstinacy. It was clear to his aunt that he was determined to get into the gooseberry garden, "only," as she remarked to herself, "because I have told him he is not to."
7. Screencaps from Kung Fu Hustle showing a young girl and boy and in a flashback where the girl consoles the injured boy by offering a lollipop but he runs off. The scene transforms to show the two of them grown up now as the woman offers a similar lollipop to the man.
8. From childhood’s hour I have not been/ As others were—I have not seen/ As others saw—I could not bring/ My passions from a common spring—
9. I remember when my brother and other kids from neighboring houses/ Would get together, I'd ride my bike and my brother would ride his/ Put cards in our spokes and make our engines sound like traffic/ When using Pokemon cards, please do not use the holographics/ So bold and fearless in the risks we'd take, laugh in the face/ Of gravity as its laws we'd break/ On trampolines so high we reach for the sky/ But I do not look up anymore and I don't why]

Current fiction reading is The Unrest-Cure and Other Stories by Saki (H.H. Munro), with illustrations by Edward Gorey. If you've never read Saki, I can't recommend him highly enough. He was a consummate master of the short story, blending pitch-perfect satire of the English aristocracy with a profound sense of the macabre: his best stories, such as "Sredni Vashtar" and "The Open Window," are poised on a knife-edge between comedy and horror, like P.G. Wodehouse by way of Edgar Allan Poe. And Edward Gorey's marvelous drawings are just the icing on the cake.

Oh goodness, I swear I had the biggest crush on Munro Chambers. He is still sexy till this day. Eli could of gotten it, Drew Torres could of gotten it, and Mike Dallas could of gotten it as well lol.

I also watched PLL, I felt like the ending came out of nowhere. I heard they have a new one coming out (unless it already did) but I haven’t watched it.
That sounds pretty cool, I definitely need to check it out. But I do like how shows actually make profiles for their characters. Don’t quote me but I believe they also did something like that for Degrassi.
Yeah, love movies/stories aren’t my thing. But I watched One Day just to have a show on while I ate my dinner. Lol I don’t think I’ve heard of Dark. Sounds more like a dark comedy. This sounds like a Colleen Hoover book lol. I haven’t watched much of Netflix. I think the latest show I watched was The Fall of the House of Usher, which was pretty good with a unexpected ending. My brother was mentioning that it was produced by the same guy who made The Haunting of Hill House, never seen Bly Manor.
You NEED TO WATCH The Haunting of Hill House. The guy you're talking about is Mike Flanagan and his wife is Kate Siegel, who works a lot on his projects. God, I watched Haunting of Hill House and I was like "This is what i wanted AHS to be!!!!" It was good and the actress from You is on there. I think this was her first role? Can't remember. Anyways, I would take this show over AHS any day. Bly Manor was okay....I can't really remember much of it, but Trixie and Katya watched it.

I know my mom has seen The Fall of the House of Usher because she and I are both fans of Edgar Allen Poe's work. I just love how AHS it is like he's reusing the same cast for different characters and its actually creepy. To anyone reading, AHS was never creepy to me. I'm sorry. I tried and I held on long enough.
You gotta give Dark a chance. Just one or two episodes. Someone did an article saying how it was better than Stranger Things well I think it was titled, "Shows that are better than Stranger Things" something like that.
You should try watching Mike's shows or alteast try watching Hush (its on Netflix) and his wife plays lead of a woman who is deaf and there's an intruder on her property. I had my co-worker watch it and she and I were just yelling at the tv trying to help this women out.
"Eli could of gotten it, Drew Torres could of gotten it, and Mike Dallas could of gotten it as well lol."
