Podiatrist in St. Ives: Reliable Foot Experts Moving Towards Health
Appropriate visits from a podiatrist in St Ives might be beneficial for anybody with impaired feeling in their feet or poor circulation. Wearing shoes is essential to maintaining the stability and protection of our feet. For those with illnesses impacting the health of their lower limbs, footwear is especially essential. Wearing the right shoes may improve mobility, lessen discomfort, and lower the chance of falling.
Tumblr media
Greeting your carers with a smile, saying hello, and having small talk with them humanises the Turramurra family medical practice and promotes comfort and trust. Selecting the right shoes is a crucial aspect of taking care of your feet, but it may be challenging, particularly if you need to fit orthotics into the shoe or if you have a health issue that affects how your feet work.
Good Rapport Between the Doctor and The Patient
Developing a long-lasting relationship with your sports focus podiatry is one of the main benefits of choosing a family medicine clinic. This familiarity is really helpful, especially for kids who might be nervous about going to the doctor.
Being open and honest about your health problems with your lady doctor providers becomes second nature when you're comfortable with them. Eventually, these exchanges go from being simple appointments to sincere catch-ups that enable a compassionate approach to treatment in which your physician is aware of both your personal and medical background.
A Comprehensive Strategy for Health and Long Term Care
Choosing a family medical clinic has the benefit of providing ongoing, all-inclusive treatment. Their interdisciplinary expertise gives them a distinct viewpoint that enables them to identify trends or inherited illnesses that may be missed in a more dispersed healthcare environment.
Family medicine clinics are based on a concept that emphasises a comprehensive approach to health rather than just treating symptoms. Essentially, you are forming a lifetime health relationship when you choose a family medical clinic rather than just picking a healthcare practitioner.
This long-term partnership ensures constant treatment that is customised to your changing requirements and situation. For example, if you are experiencing stress, it can have a cascading effect on your life, causing everything from irregular sleep cycles to irregular digestion.

Note
Daphne,
Please would you mind sharing your foot care routine, my winter feet are in a dire state
Xx
No problem :) I actually need to get back into this old routine. Here is the routine from my drafts:
1. Cutting your nails
I won't say I am a woman who get embarassed or can be embarrased but I don't think I can ever live down the humiliation of when I turned up to my podiatry appointment and my podratist took one look at my nails and say 'I think I will cut them for you'. She did explain to me that though I had cut them, I still left them too long and long toe nails is a bad foot practice but oh my god, never again! I know it sound wierd but there is a correct way to cut your toe-nails and it is straight across. Any fancy shapes might lead to ingrown nails and they are painful.
I find toenails to grow quite slowly so I cut my every two weeks but I tend to fully clean my toenails at least weekly. You should not be letting those black fuzz under your toenails grow. Letting your shower water run inbetwee you toes is not enough and you should be using soap and a nail brush whenever you shower to clean your feet.
2.Foot Soaks
Epsom salt
Vinegar
I try and do these foot soaks weekly as they are actually really good at relaxing you. I just get a bucket and put the same about of salt ratio as I do in pasta water and let my feet rest. You don't really need anything fancy as epsom salt works just fine, but it does have to be epsom salt. This is because epsom salt is a mixture of magneusim and sulfate so it will actually do something for you (relax your muscles and cramps etc). I also like to add one cup vinegar as well to my foot bath. Vinegar has anti-bacterial properties so adding this makes it hard for bacteria to grow on your feet.
3. Foot Exfoilation
Cheap face scrub
Pumic stone
Exfoilating foot mask
This is where we will get rid of the dead skin cells. There are two ways you can go around doing this: physical and chemical exfoliation.
I don't think you need to buy any designated foot srub because they all tend to work the same. Personally, I just buy the £2 St Ives face scrub but use it on my foot. After I have soaked my feet, I dry them just so they are damp and I scrub the hell out of my feet.
For chemical peels you can either use some sort of peeling acid or a exfoilaiting sheet mask. The common peeling acid that people use is the Ordinary acid one and I find to be good for the skin around your toenails.
I like using an exfoliating foot sheet mask as well but this is probably every 6 months at the earliest. A lot of these sheet masks get marked up and some sites and brands sell these for £20 and again, there is no need to pay this much. Your local saver beauty store or poundland/dollar tree should have them for around £1-£2 and that is the only amount anyone should be spending on these. Reminder, you really do not want to over-exfoliate your feet. Your feet is meant to have hard skin because it serves a purpose for your body and health.
4. Moisturising
I think you get the point by now but, you don't need anything fancy. I think of my massive tub of Vaseline as an equivalent to the Holy Trinity and I use that. At night, just before I am about to sleep I mix vaseline and a thicker moisturizer (body butter works amazing too) and I massage my feet with the mixture. Foot massages are actually very important for your overall health. Then, I pop on some fuzzy socks and I sleep.
5. Beautifying your feet
After you do all this your feet should look nice and pretty but if you want to take it a step further you can make sure your toe nails are nice too. I like taking off the hardened skined around my toe nails which one of the tools I mentioned in my nail routine post.
I would never suggest or encourage anyone to go get a pedicure so I myself, just do everything at home. For sanitaion reasons, I don't like using the same nail polish that I use on my hand nails on my toe nails and nail salons are just so so unhygenic.
I heard a feet pic seller once say (from an old magazine) that what earns her the most money is either a french manicure or soft pink nails. So that is what I do :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I am really going to emphasize this here, you don't need anything buy anything. Literally, everything you need to make your own foot routine, you can find in your home already. Should you want to buy anything, there is no need to spend anything more than £5 per product ( though you still wouldn't see me do this) and buy something you can use for many other things eg. vaseline.
If you have any concerns regarding your feet, do go to a podraitist as they can help. Make sure you are always wearing comfortable shoes and that you are walking properly.
Anyway love,
Daphne xoxo

Parts 6-8 of Letters from Watson's handling of The Sign of the Four hit at a time when I was swamped with work, so circumstances have made a fool of my assumption about that tiny footprint before I had a chance to thoroughly embarrass myself in public.
My first thought for the footprint was "monkey" -- I apparently really, really want a monkey, and there are certain macaques whose faces would be absolutely terrifying if seen pressed against a dark window. The problem is, the footprints of monkeys, apes, gorillas, and other such don't look like human footprints. They're all much more like hands. Gorillas come closest to having a human-like foot, but there's still a big thumb-like finger. And, of course, gorillas are too big anyway.
My venture into simian podiatry at least explains why Dr. Watson doesn't think "monkey." Victorians would have been better informed on this topic than I am, as monkeys were a common household pet in England. Little Jacko was, unsurprisingly, usually clever but mischievous. The blog from which I got monkey-lore also gets into monkey-fighting, which is even more appalling than how monkeys were treated as pets.
In part 8, we discover that the footprint does not, after all, belong to a monkey, ape, or other animal. Oh no, Doyle has in mind a situation much worse, and he's even foreshadowed it with two Indian servants. The colonial occupiers of India absolutely brought home people for their convenience.
The mysterious Jonathan Small brought home an indigenous Andaman Islander, who would be totally justified in wanting to kill anyone associated with the British Army. About 30-40 years before the time of the story, British settlement on the island had brought diseases that nearly wiped out the indigenous peoples. Efforts to help them existed -- one such would have been in the news in 1888 -- but it's still entirely a shameful episode.
(If you recall the 2018 story of the missionary who was determined to land on an island of indigenous peoples who were known for not allowing visitors... these were Andamanese, specifically Sentinelese. He was killed by the locals.)
Now, then, listen to this. ‘They are naturally hideous, having large, misshapen heads, small, fierce eyes, and distorted features. Their feet and hands, however, are remarkably small. So intractable and fierce are they that all the efforts of the British official have failed to win them over in any degree. They have always been a terror to shipwrecked crews, braining the survivors with their stone-headed clubs, or shooting them with their poisoned arrows. These massacres are invariably concluded by a cannibal feast.’
There's still a lot of "exotification of the savage" here -- the images of today's Andaman Islanders just look like people, very dark-skinned, with textured hair. Cannibalism felt like one of those charges levied against any group one doesn't like, and sure enough! Every source I can find today says the people of the Andaman Islands never practiced cannibalism. History Today also says "no poisoned darts," but the article's partly paywalled.
The Andaman Islander has kind of harshed my buzz vis-a-vis fun elements like the many ways Holmes demonstrates he's a man of class flexibility, the "never tired when working" line (he has got to be neurospicy), the omnipresence of creosote (used as a wood preservative, toxic af to the workers and anyone who recklessly burned all creosote-treated wood), and the humor of the newspaper report fronting for more localized police stations, along with the running joke of Athelney Jones arresting everyone indiscriminately.
At least there was a badger (at the house where Toby was obtained).

there's a developing story in Australian media about Tiktok pixels collecting unauthorised data in an aggressive manner via their ads on thrid party websites, and I was wondering what a Professional like yourself made of it
ooh reading into this now... full disclosure that (1) until/unless I get another job in adtech I am technically not a Professional anymore lol and (2) pixel tags weren't a big component of my last role so I only have a fairly basic understanding of how they work. but from what I'm seeing here it sounds like the main issue with tiktok rn isn't the data collection per se, since these pixel tags are functionally identical to the ones employed by facebook and others, just that tiktok isn't obtaining user consent the way other companies are ostensibly do. although even that seems like a convenient lead-in for the whole Oh My God A But Chinese Company Is Doing It thing.
and tbf I kinda can pull that in both directionson one hand facebook in particular has gotten in a lot of trouble before for bad data collection practices and putting that data in the hands of people who used it to (maybe, allegedly) sway public opinion, so the general fear underpinning this thing is like, not unfounded right. (even though I don't think the issue behind the cambridge analytica scandal was centered around tracking pixels specifically?) on the other hand the very nature of facebook's rocky history re. data and privacy proves that western companies can and will spy on their users and it's for sure disingenuous to act like ~shady foreign governments~ are the only ones with any incentive to do so lol.
I guess you could argue that facebook's incentive for all the spying was simply Making Money, even if they took money from people who did use that spy data to spread propaganda; like, to the parent company, the propaganda wasn't the goal. whereas many will obviously argue that with tiktok data some undefined form of propaganda is the goal. but seeing that tiktok ads are a multi-billion dollar enterprise(!) I'm way more inclined to believe that tiktok is also spying for the sake of Making Money. clearly a whole fucking lot of money!
this is something I've for sure said before but I also wholeheartedly believe (and to some extent, know, although again pixel tracking isn't my exact wheelhouse) that advertising data is a lot less granular and therefore less useful than most people imagine it to be, which severely limits the kind of compromising shit you can pull under normal circumstances.
even in the article I linked, where they talk about tiktok pixels being able to track the shopping/browsing habits of users, basic device info, and occasionally some PII like phone numbers and email addresses... like, okay, so let's say tiktok knows that [email protected] used an iphone to look at a website that sells orthopedic shoe inserts. or even maybe something more salacious like, idk, questionably legal gas station dick pills. from a "let's use tiktok to spread propaganda" perspective I really struggle how that information would be valuable or what you'd do with it other than emailing that person outright to taunt them about their fucked up feet and/or dick? (if the goal is to show people certain kinds of content in tiktok's app then certainly you have both the means to do so and plenty of behavioral data to draw up on in the app itself. it's a literal video platform lol.) otoh from a "let's use this data to create advertising segments" perspective then you can easily monetize this info by telling advertisers that you know a guy who's a prime target for ads about podiatry treatments or whatever, in which case advertisers are more eager to spend money on ads because they think they're talking to a relevant audience. and in that case advertisers don't really care what the guy's name or email is, just that he ticks certain boxes that make him a worthwhile use of ad dollars. and even in cases where bad actors do want more specific data for shady purposes, it's pretty difficult to collect it and even harder to propagate it across different platforms; one thing I think gets overlooked a lot with cambridge analytica in particular is that it happened on a platform where users willingly share their full name, birthday, gender, relationship status, political leanings, job title, etc. outright, and then create connections between other people who also willingly share all that info. in some ways I don't think it could've happened anywhere but facebook, because this is a situation where you really didn't have to squeeze anything out of users—they just came out and told you! (it's also part of why non-shady facebook ads are so lucrative; you don't have to guesstimate audience data when you can literally just specify that certain ads should only be shown to people whose profile says they're between the ages of 35 and 55.) and as far as I'm aware tiktok just does not have anything remotely approaching that kind of profile data.
anyway lol. as far as I can tell I think this is a GDPR-y consent issue first and foremost, which will probably turn into a thorny battle over whether tiktok can/will be held to EU data standards or similar statues with a good helping of Chinese Company Bad mixed in for good measure. also side note but remember the whole thing about tiktok data transparency but the american company they put in charge of it is fucking oracle?

Went for my ADHD checkup yesterday and left with a referral to podiatry lol
It went "How else are you managing your adhd" -> things that are meant to help with focus -> making quiet routines for myself -> doing yoga regularly -> "hey actually bc of the yoga I've noticed that my left foot's not just fucked up from an old injury but in fact functions completely differently than my right bc of this congenital thing I've got going on, and it's making my practice uneven. Pain and discomfort I can deal with, but my left and right side practice being uneven is unforgivable"
So I'm seeing a podiatrist first and then maybe at some point she's gonna send me to an ortho bc I have a fun never-diagnosed hip thing since birth that I'd just love to know what's going on in there. I'd love to have something to call it other than what my sister said when I was little which was a "double-jointed left butt" lmao It's not an issue as of right now, just inconvenient for sitting on a hard floor.

Benefit of EMR Systems for Your Practice to Enhance Patient Care
In today’s healthcare environment, the need for efficiency, accuracy, and improved patient care has never been greater. Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems have emerged as a key solution to help healthcare providers meet these demands. By transitioning from traditional paper records to digital systems, practices can significantly enhance the quality of care they provide. Here is how benefit of EMR systems can improve your practice and lead to better patient care.
Tumblr media
Accurate and Comprehensive Patient Records
One of the most important benefits of EMR systems is their ability to maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records. EMR systems capture and store detailed information about a patient’s medical history, including past diagnoses, medications, allergies, lab results, and treatment plans. This digital record is continuously updated and easily accessible, ensuring that healthcare providers have the most up-to-date and accurate information at their fingertips with podiatry EHR.
With EMR systems, the risk of missing or incomplete information is drastically reduced. Providers no longer have to sift through paper files, and there’s less chance of losing critical information. This accuracy allows healthcare professionals to take and make right decisions. This helps in leading to improve patient outcomes properly.
Improved Coordination and Communication Among Providers
In many cases, patients receive care from multiple providers across different specialties. EMR systems play a crucial role in improving communication and coordination among these providers. With the benefit of EMR, all authorized healthcare professionals involved in a patient’s care can access the same comprehensive record, ensuring everyone is on the same page. This level of coordination is especially important in managing complex cases where a patient may be seeing multiple specialists.
Enhanced Patient Safety
Patient safety is the only priority in healthcare, and EMR systems contribute in a good way to this aspect of care. Ambulatory Surgery Center Practice Management Software systems include features that automatically check for potential drug interactions, allergies, and other safety concerns when new medications are prescribed. These systems provide alerts to healthcare providers. This helps to prevent adverse drug events and other medical errors. Visit EMR-EHRS to know more.
Increased Patient Engagement and Empowerment
EMR systems often come with patient portals that allow individuals to access their own medical records, view test results, schedule appointments, and communicate directly with their EMR software providers. This increased access to information helps patients to participate actively in their healthcare.
Streamlined Workflow and Reduced Administrative Burden
While the primary focus of EMR systems is on making the patient care better. They also streamline the entire workflow within a medical practice. By automating the routine tasks such as appointment scheduling, billing, and documentation, EMR systems reduce the administrative burden on healthcare staff. This allows providers to spend their useful time focusing on the care of patients instead of any other kind of paperwork.
The adoption of EMR systems offers numerous benefit of EMR for healthcare practices, particularly in enhancing patient care. From maintaining accurate and comprehensive records to improving communication among providers, enhancing patient safety, and empowering patients, EMR systems are a vital tool in modern healthcare. By streamlining workflows and providing better data for decision-making, EMR systems not only improve the quality of care but also increase efficiency and satisfaction for both providers and patients. As healthcare continues to evolve, the role of EMR systems in delivering high-quality care will only become more critical. Visit EMR-EHRS to know more about us.
