Cerisette/Lilanette: Ballet Dance
Tumblr media
I've made a sketch about Marinette and Lila/Cerise in Opera-Ballet style.
It's a fanart about the Ballet Miracle Box AU from @bakawitch. The two girls have both Swan and Spider miraculouses.
In this scene, Marinette a.k.a. Plumette and Lila/Cerise a.k.a. Funnel Web dance together on stage. They make some dance-choregraphy trainings at the same time.

Why would you have them be Belle and Beast when there is so clearly a better choice— Lumière and Plumette?!

Note
Plumierre's opinions of Adam pre-Curse, his behaviour, manners.
Kinda prompt
Lumiere is always inclined to go soft on the Prince: he sees him as the little boy he once was, the wide-eyed blue thing staring up at puppet tricks and magic shows, the little boy running to the woods, running to his mother, running anywhere he can be wild and free. As he grows the boy retreats, but Lumiere's memories merely bank down for that long night: glowing sweet things, that he can't tell apart from the present.
Plumette has seen more of the Prince at his worst, and before the curse is more inclined to see Adam with bitterness, jealousy, and disdain—the cruel Prince who makes her cry, who throws her brushes across the room if she steps a foot wrong, and seems to have forgotten how she once enchanted him, the so-grown-up girl who fringed his lashes with glitter and made him laugh with secret whispers, so much older and wiser than him (she was 16, he was 7). it's only really with Belle that she starts to see a different side of the Prince—the boy he might have been had he been loved, not the boy in the distant past who tormented the beautiful girl.

Beauty and the Beast Week 2024, Day 7: Free Day Master List
Tumblr media
Fic: A Tale Of Books, Roses and Friendship (Belle & Luigi, G) by @vulpixfairy1985
Takes place in my Super Mario Bros/Wreck It Ralph AU. Luigi goes to a new digital library to find his beloved Daisy the perfect storybook for his gift to her for Book Day in Litwak’s arcade. In doing so, he meets a beautiful bookish Disney princess who becomes his first friend in the Internet over books and roses…
Fic: beautiful problems, god knows we've got them (Cogsworth/Lumiere/Plumette, not rated) by @anenchantedteacup
I’ve always had some sort of plan for my life. Yes, it wouldn't always go perfectly as events came to pass, but it was set, and it was true. My lifeline. But you just had to come along, didn’t you? You had to pull me into your world, into your life.
Fic: No other way (Enchantress & Queen of the Fairies, T) by @firawren
Why does the Enchantress curse the Prince for such a seemingly minor offense? And why does she curse all the innocent servants as well? She must be an evil, crazy megalomaniac, right? Perhaps not… Aka, the Enchantress pitches the terms of her beast-spell to her boss, the Fairy Queen, and it turns out she’s being completely beneficent…
Fic and moodboard: Beauty and the Beetle (Belle/Beetlejuice, G) by @twisting-echo
He offered her his arm, and together they made their way to the grand ballroom. The Neitherworld’s version of a ball was a sight to behold. Ghosts, ghouls, and other supernatural beings danced and mingled, their laughter echoing through the cavernous space. The music was hauntingly beautiful, played by an orchestra of skeletons. Among the swirling figures on the dance floor, Belle and Beetlejuice stood out, their presence commanding attention.
Fic: you're my home, stay with me - chapter 4 (Adam/Belle, T) by @prince-adams-japris
Adam doesn't want to be volunteering at the library. Belle doesn't want him volunteering at the library. Mrs. Potts has other ideas.
Fic: If only you´ll keep me - chapter 7 (Adam/Belle, M) by @annaofthenorthernlights
They make their way upstairs and Belle tugs at Adam's arm. "My room?" "Why?" "I want to feel naughty. Like you're visiting me in the forbidden guest wing."
Fic: Alive - chapter 15 (Beast/Belle, E) by @greensearcher
He watched her for another moment with an expression she hadn’t quite figured out yet. His face seemed neutral except for his eyes, which were bright and staring at her intently. This time his tail was moving, catlike as it slowly swept the ground behind him. Belle had never seen it move like that, and the sight made her insides tremble with desire. She found this a bit alarming.
Ficlet: Beast, Sulley, and Mike by @aerinofdreamlightvalley

Positive-ish Things that Happened During the Curse
I feel that I’ve made a lot of posts about how terrible the curse was for the staff (I’m not mistaken in doing so, the curse was definitely bad for everyone) but that little voice in my head got me thinking: what if I made a happy post about it?  So without further ado, here are a few headcanons about the curse that will (hopefully) make you smile.
Chip teaches Froufrou some new tricks.  Garderobe and Cadenza had already taught him the basics, like “sit,” “stay,” “quiet,” and a few other general ones, but Chip decides that “roll over,” “play dead,” “hide and seek,” and a few other fun ones should be added.
In the first few days, Plumette and the other maids cleaned the entirety of the castle. Obsessively. And while this served as a healthy distraction, it was also a way to remind themselves that they weren’t forgotten. It was their own rebellion against the curse, and everyone thanked them for it. The only two places left avoided were the West Wing (for obvious reasons) and the East Wing, because Adam forbade anyone go near it after his mom died.
Cuisinier had control over most of the knives in the kitchen, and with some help from more mobile residents, he carved toys for Chip and Froufrou.
Yes, telekinesis exists. Cogsworth confirmed that some objects are just objects, so I imagine Mrs. Potts can push her own cart, Lumiere can light every candle in the castle, Plumette and the other maids can control the sheets and pillows, Chip can use his saucer like a skateboard, Garderobe can make a dress with a thought, etc.
On the subject of dog toys, the Madame wasted no time sewing little trinkets filled with rice and beans from the kitchens. Though she couldn’t leave the East Wing, Mrs. Potts provided the necessary materials on her cart. It was through this love of crafting (and the precious dog, of course) that Garderobe and Cuisinier, the two stationary residents, became good friends.
They all became snow artists over time. Think about it: the whole castle is blanketed in an enchanted winter, which means an enormous amount of snow. As Lumiere put it, they were doing nearly nothing before Belle arrived. But I can imagine that the staff members--Chip, Chapeau, Lumiere, and Plumette especially--learned how to make the best snow-sculptures ever.
And for those who immediately call baloney on Lumiere being good at it because of his candles, he can and does put them out. And even so, you know you can form ice by melting away parts of it, right? Imagine him making abstract, curving shapes out of icicles, or beautiful, water-like patterns in ice blocks.
Not to mention, any time Chip asks for a snowball fight, the team who has Chapeau with them always wins. And it’s unfair. But it’s fun.
There have been times when Chip has been buried in the snow. It’s all in good fun, but Chapeau insists on watching him every time. After all, porcelain/fine china can crack if exposed to enough cold.
There are some dogs out there that aren’t smart enough to recognize their own reflections, so I like to think Froufrou has no idea what’s going on. Like sure, his mamma and papà look different, but they smell the same, so what’s the big deal?
I think I’ve mentioned this in other posts, but during pre-curse times, Lumiere hosted little midnight parties with music and dancing. He keeps that up, obviously, and after the curse falls on the castle, those meetings descend into chaos (since the walls of the ballroom have playable instruments on them, and the maids can fly). Chapeau usually provides the music, and sometimes the maestro joins in (when he feels up to it--after all, he’s incomplete without his dear one).
Cogsworth hates it, but has absolutely no say on the matter, because he’s outvoted by everyone else.
Lumiere could and did light candles from far away. Maybe it’s just the 1991 version knocking on my brain, but I love the idea of Lumiere just blowing out one of his flames and then having all of the candles in his vicinity flaring up instantly. You need a ballroom lit? Give him five seconds. Done.
Plumette and the other maids tested their wings. On a calm day, they just decided to see how high they could fly, and Plumette made it pretty high before the winds picked up. The quest to find her around the castle grounds was pretty funny...for everyone but Plumette. And Lumiere. Poor thing went cold with worry.
Of course they found her, and of course she wasn’t hurt, but from a bird’s-eye perspective, seeing the staff scramble to “catch the maids” just makes me laugh so much.
Under Mrs. Potts’ strict instruction, Chapeau taught Garderobe and Cadenza Adam’s favorite lullaby, the one his mother sang to him when he was little. If the Beast slept inside the castle, whoever was closest, and whoever was awake, would play it for him. He’d rage and silence them if he was awake, so in that way, his mother visited him in his dreams. It was a sign of the servants relearning to care.
The first big reunion with the beast and the servants was a few weeks into the curse:
For the first few weeks, the Beast was so filled with self-loathing he would avoid the staff on a daily basis, killing things in the forest and eating them, like a real animal. Once Mrs. Potts and Chapeau found out that this was what he got up to when he left, Cogsworth nearly had a stroke and put his foot down. The Beast was doing the exact opposite of what he was supposed to be doing; disappearing into some wild thing was absolutely unacceptable.
They didn’t pull out every stop. To do so would mean pretending like nothing was wrong, and they weren’t about to start that. But they made him dinner--a childhood favorite--and locked the doors of the castle, forcing him to eat what they made. They hovered, out of striking distance, but present in case he needed them.
He ate. He trudged up the stairs to the West Wing. Looked at the rose. And cried. His first good cry in years, one that eventually lulled him to sleep.
He never missed dinner after that.

7 question ask: barbette/fife/plumette
Three facts about them from my personal headcanons.
Her real name is Babette in all continuities. "Fifi" is just a nickname Lumiere sometimes calls her because her middle name is Josephine, while "Plumette" is a nickname he gave her in the 2017 remake-verse because (in human form) she's rarely without a feather-duster in hand.
While she sometimes flirts with other men in a playful way, just as Lumiere does with other women, Lumiere is her true love, he knows it, and vice-versa.
She came to the castle from Paris, as did Lumiere. Their French accents represent Parisian accents, while the other characters' American accents (or British accents in the 2017 remake) represent the local French dialect.
A reason they suck:
In the animated version, her costume in her human form is too skimpy for a maidservant in a royal castle. Even though we only see her for a moment, and of course the animators wanted her to look sexy, they really should have designed a better dress for her.
A reason they are great:
She's adorable, lively, and always charming in her flirty and romantic moments with Lumiere.
A reason I relate to them:
I'm also a lover of fun and romance.
(what I consider to be) the top tier otp/ot3 for that character:
She belongs with Lumiere, no question.
Five things that never happened to the character that I believe should have happened:
In a perfect world, that she had never been turned into a feather duster, although of course there would be no plot then.
That her dress in her human form in the original film were less "sexy" and more elegant and historically appropriate.
That her role in the original film were bigger, which it thankfully is in the stage musical and the 2017 remake.
That she had more interactions with Belle and they were shown as good friends.
That she had been named in the original film, so her name wouldn't change in every new iteration.
Five people that character never fell in love with and why.
Cogsworth. He's too "tightly wound."
Chef Bouche/Cuisinier. She finds him a little intimidating.
Maestro Cadenza (2017-verse). He's already taken.
Maurice. Even though in the stage musical she does some lighthearted flirting with him, he's really too old for her.
The Beast/Prince Adam. Even after he become kind, he's too serious and awkward for her taste.

plumiere finding each other across lives, stories, and universes
The little tin soldier falls into the flames. Wait! says the paper ballerina, and follows after him. Every story says they melt.
~~~~
"What's your name, mademoiselle?" The boy is young, sixteen, dressed up in cockeyed gold scraps he found at some village fête. She is fifteen and wearing a feather the Queen left in the sewing room.
"Plumette," she says, and stares hard at the sun to hide her grin. He sees her looking and tries to strike a dashing pose.
~~~~
"Tell me a story," she begs, up on the roof long after everyone else is in bed, and they're in their twenties and cross-eyed in love and if they weren't dating other people they'd be in each other's arms this minute. "One with a happy ending."
"Happy endings?" The boy is dramatic and despairing. He would ask Plumette to the ball in a minute if she would just stop seeing that damn Armande from the stables. There are twenty thousand stars in the sky and he can't see the light in one. "There are no happy endings. What's that one I told you before? The brave little tin soldier and the paper princess he loved? I never finished it, did I, the little lovers on the nursery tabletop. They fell into the fireplace; a draft catches her, or gravity propels him. They burn. They're on fire and they burn."
"Oh," says Plumette, thinking this is a gloomy tale, and not watching her hand creep over the shingles to catch his.
~~~~
"Of course it didn't end that way," says Lumiere, a dark night when his candles barely burn. They're glowing, slowly, in the dark. "I would never tell a tale that dark. In this winter? No."
"You did! They burned. Or they melted? I can't remember." Plumette tries hard to remember every minute of when she had hands, when he was a bright gold poppinjay with a blue-eyed face, when his hair was auburn and she was dressed all in white. Now she floats beyond his reach, her feathers slowly falling away.
"Never, never." Lumiere has forgotten the story, watching her. Who cares for a paper princess? Who cares for a fairytale? My god, she's beautiful, and he's alive here to see it. "Come here, mon coeur."
"Lumiere! Your flames!" He's burning too bright. His flames are inches high, throwing their shadows huge on the wall. For half a moment they look human.
"Yes, so there were flames. Who cares? The soldier was made of metal, strong and stern stuff! And the beautiful paper princess—she would be too beautiful to burn. Maybe they were in the fire. The fire didn't touch them."
~~~~
Ten days after the end of the curse, and Plumette isn't over the joys of being herself again. She was looking at the stretch marks on her thighs earlier in the evening, the little wrinkles at the edges of her eyes—dear god, she thinks, I'm beautiful, and pushes the candle closer to the mirror so she can see every little thing. Lumiere, sneaking up behind her, kisses her head and smiles into her neck.
"Lumiere? What happened to the paper princess?" asks Plumette, letting down her hair and dropping her feathers. He's forgotten the tale, but something about it keeps drifting through her mind.
"The what? Oh, the princess." He hasn't a clue what she's talking about but something nudges him—a princess, cut from paper and lace, floating over fire. Did she have feathers? Why not, why not? "Oh, she's dancing still. She floated over the flames and dragged her lover after her. Who can resist a good breeze? Anyone as beautiful as she was, cut from the best paper with her beautiful lace, she could survive anything."
"And her lover?"
"Ah, well, he's susceptible to fire—but she makes him brave. Dance with me, darling. I do not burn you anymore."
~~~~
Melting, dancing, floating, burning—who knows which way the story goes? But in every version the boy follows the girl. And this version is no different.
