"A Green Queen"
Luigi is rushing behind the giant beast in his frilly dress and silk cape. Huffing harshly, he plops down with his dress tucked under him to catch his breath.
He had made a deal with the princess to take her place during the wedding, and while the plan went well. He had to pay for wrongly marrying the King of Koopas. Even with Mario's protests, he went along with the King's proposal to rule alongside him for a year as an apology.
"Could you-a slow down.. It's hot and I can't run inna this dress!"
The King stopped and grumbled. His nostrils flared as he turned back to his 'queen'.
"Tough luck, I'm not slowing down for your puny legs. So get the fuck up."
The plumber took a deep breath and tried again "I'm tired, If you could just-"
"GET. UP.", he snapped.

Overly Analyzing the Super Mario 3D World story intro
So I've been playing Super Mario 3D World a lot, and since I haven't seen many people talk about the opening cutscene, I wanted to do that since it contains a lot of very cute animations!
This will kinda be a scene by scene analysis with me just pointing out things I like, but if you'd like to see the full cutscene in better quality than my screenshots, you can watch it here!
Tumblr media
The scene starts off with all of the main playable characters going for a walk under a starry sky filled with fireworks. I know blue/yellow Toads have been staples of Mario games now, since they colour code the main characters and Mario is obviously red, but its does delight me that Blue Toad is just invited on this little walk with them.
(Also if you listen closely, you can hear Mario say "Ah Princess, what a beautiful evening!" and I thought that was cute)
Tumblr media
Their walk is interrupted by Toad noticing something offscreen, and they run ahead to see a broken pipe in the middle of the path! Mario and Luigi closely examine it, and then we get...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ACTUAL PLUMBING FROM THE SUPER MARIO BROS!
Real talk, the more the series goes on the less relevant their status as plumbers often becomes, so anything that references it or shows them actually using their plumbing skills makes me so happy. And their tools are colour coordinated!
Tumblr media
A bunch of power ups and the green Sprixie Princess pop out, and we get some classic 2d artwork, which I absolutely adore. More of this in every 3d game, please.
Tumblr media
The ground and pipe start rumbling, and this is where I really wanna focus on the character animation of the main four here. All four of them start looking around for the source of the tremors, and we see both Peach and Luigi lifting their hands up, Luigi looking more anxious.
Tumblr media
Bowser suddenly pops out of the pipe and roars, startling all four main characters. We can see very different reactions from all of them.
Toad and Peach jump before covering their ears, very clearly intimidated by Bowser's roar.
Luigi is the only one to fall over completely from Bowser's appearance. He stays on the ground and holds one hand up in front of his face, flinching when Bowser roars. Dude is clearly terrified by Bowser.
Mario does jump in surprise when Bowser pops up, but he's the only one who doesn't cower when Bowser roars. Instead, he immediately gets into a confrontational pose, with one hand held out protectively towards Peach. This isn't his first time dealing with Bowser, obviously, and his instincts are to prepare for a fight and to protect Peach.
Tumblr media
However, Bowser's target this time isn't Peach, but instead the green Sprixie Princess. A lot of people poke fun at the set up for this game - "if Princess Peach isn't in danger, why do any of them care?" - but I always like when Mario & Luigi and the others try to rescue others simply because it's the right thing to do.
Tumblr media
Bowser turns to glare at Peach and Mario, taunting them to react. Peach and Mario are both upset by the capture of the Sprixie Princess, but neither react too strongly to Bowser. Both of them have interacted with him enough to know what he's like.
Tumblr media
Conversely, both Luigi and Blue Toad react much more when Bowser turns to them. Blue Toad stumbles onto one foot, while Luigi cowers back further, keeping his hand raised defensively, which seems to be a common mannerism of his when he's frightened. Bowser seems to be grinning a bit more in this pose, as if he knows he can get a bigger reaction out of these two.
Tumblr media
When Bowser disappears down the pipe, all four of them regain their bearings and jump back up, reaching out for the green Sprixie Princess.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Peach is the first one to rush forward to the pipe. She sort of flounders on the edge of the pipe before she slips down it - yeah, I don't think she had a game plan there outside of trying to rescue the green Sprixie Princess. But proactive Peach being included on the adventure is always a win!
Tumblr media
Before Luigi even lands his startled jump, Mario is already rushing forward to follow Peach down the pipe, and Toad is right behind him. I'd say it's out of mostly courage on Mario's end, and mostly out of loyalty to the princess on Toad's.
Then we get to my favourite animation of this scene (can you tell I'm biased?)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While Mario and Toad follow Peach down the pipe, Luigi pulls himself together and slaps his cheeks twice to hype himself up. It's one of my favourite quirks for characters to do, and it's doubly endearing on characters who are timid in nature. Luigi was arguably the most started and scared by Bowser's appearance, but he knows he has to do something! Totally adopting this as a common mannerism of his
Tumblr media
Luigi then follows the others down the pipe, and they travel to the first world of the game, bringing the opening cutscene to a close.
Fun fact; since I've only ever played this game solo, and since I main Luigi, I assumed that his animation of landing on his stomach outside of the pipe was unique to him, since he's established as quite clumsy.
But in 4 player mode, you can see all of them coming out of the pipe together, and Mario lands on his stomach too. Just thought that was a cute detail.
Tumblr media
So that's the opening cutscene of Super Mario 3D World! It's not terribly complex, but I've always adored it for showcasing a lot of personality with the main characters, and since I didn't really see any discussions on it, I wanted to highlight it!
I do recommend you watch the cutscene since a lot of the nuances and details can't be shown in screenshots - or better yet, play the game yourself! It's a ton of fun ^^

Congratulations! If you have received this invitation, that means that you have been invited to the wedding of King Bowser and King Consort Luigi! The wedding will take place at the Darklands castle 11th of June at 12:00PM sharp. Wear your best formal attire, a gift for the happy new couple and a smile. Hope to see you there!
King Boo let out an inhuman screech as he ripped up the letter. One of his boos had been scavenging secretly across the lands, finding a scattered invitation to the royal wedding and rushing back to give it to their king.
The poltergeist was fuming! Not only did his former associate double cross him and partner up with the Mushroom Kingdom to defend the rest of the lands from the ghost’s terror, but King Bowser was marrying his arch nemesis of all people, Luigi!
It didn’t seem that long ago when Bowser was chasing after the poofy pink Princess Peach, going so far to steal the superstar in order to do so. If it weren’t for the arrival of those pesky colourful humans did things start going haywire. Ever since Bowser was defeated by the red plumber and his younger brother, the koopa couldn’t stop thinking about the latter. Whenever King Boo visited Bowser’s realm, he would drone on and on about that stupid green man. First, he complained about how a low-life prisoner managed to defeat him and stop the star-crossed love between him and his ‘Peaches’, then it turned into begrudging admiration for the human (“I never thought someone so small could pack such a punch,” he remembered Bowser saying), and then the sickening realisation of Bowser realising his feelings for the green plumber had King Boo about to lose his final straw.
He was going to make Bowser realise how pathetic that human was and make him go back to his scheming ways! And so, he devised a plan, he was going to lead Luigi hear with the false pretence of him winning a mansion, trap his brother in a painting to lure Luigi to his doom, have his minions scare the living daylights out of him and trap him as well! Once that would happen, he was going to show Bowser the painting, make him realise how pathetic the human was and the two would return to world domination! (He had even arranged for a large model of the koopa king to frighten the little plumber).
However, his plans were foiled by a pesky little scientist, going by the name of Doctor E. Gadd. Apparently, he saved Luigi with the help of some type of vacuum that was able to suck up his boos and ghosts, leading to the two humans partnering up and the plumber taking down the ghostly king himself.
King Boo had never been so humiliated in all his life! And worst of all, after he managed to escape, it only caused Bowser to fawn over the human even more. Soon, Bowser would ease up on his plans to take over the Mushroom Kingdom and woo Princess Peach, instead, focusing on creating a steady friendship with the little green man. Of course, it didn’t go so well at first – the first meeting was Bowser imprisoning Luigi over lava after all – but over time, they started meeting in secret, going to meadows that the plumber had found due to his love of gardening, Luigi sending little treats to the koopa king, spending time with Bowser Jr and the koopalings, even going as far to pretending to be ‘kidnapped’ by Bowser so that he would be able to derail Mario from finding out about the two.
Eventually, King Boo tried his mansion plan again, twice actually! The first time was during the Dark Moon eclipse, forcing the ghosts E. Gadd had befriended to do King Boo’s bidding, the other was when he had joined forces with Helen Gravely and her haunted hotel. Yet again though, Luigi managed to foil both plans, each one of them ending up with King Boo captured.
When King Boo managed to escape again, he expected Bowser to at least be nonchalant about his intentions with capturing Luigi. However, when he arrived at the Darklands and saw Luigi there with the koopa king, all the poltergeist could see was red at this pesky plumber. He was going to attack the human and finish him once and for all, until he was met face first with a scaly fist and plummeted against one of Bowser’s stone statues of himself. When he gathered himself, he saw that the large koopa was on all fours, fangs bared and growling with smoke coming out of his nostrils and a protective arm around Luigi – who was trembling on the ground while clutching the king’s arm in fright.
King Boo had seen Bowser angry plenty of times before, but this, this was something he had never seen before. It was almost primal, animalistic and was never this reactive when it came to Peach. With a snarl, Bowser only said two words so quietly yet held nothing but danger. “Get out.”
That was all King Boo needed to hear to immediately flee the scene. Eventually, he learnt that during his imprisonment in E. Gadd’s lab, Bowser had been working on forming an alliance with the Mushroom Kingdom, going so far as to signing a peace treaty. Both he and Luigi had even revealed their relationship to the Princess and Mario, though while sceptical, were still accepting to the two as a couple.
And now here he was, with a ripped-up letter and a wedding on the horizon. How could Bowser do this to him?! He was King Bowser, lord of all things evil and set anyone ablaze if they ever tried to tell him what to do! And he was King Boo, the tyrannical ghost king ready to frighten the literal life out of anyone! Together, they could’ve taken over the remaining puny kingdoms and strike terror into anyone who opposed them. Now, Bowser was kissing the boots of a stupid plumber and about to marry him as well! This would not do at all.
“Ready my airships!” he screamed at one of his subjects, jumping at the sudden noise, “I want my armies to be ready by the date of the royal wedding!”
“But sire,” the smaller boo spoke up quietly, “You ripped up the letter, it had the date on it.”
“Does that look like my problem?!” he seethed at the minion, who quickly shook his head, “Then go find it out for yourself, and don’t come back until my armies and ships are ready to leave!”
“Yes, my king,” the boo bowed and fazed through one of the walls.
King Boo grumbled under his breath, an evil sneer creeping onto his face. If Bowser wanted to pretend to be the good guy, fine, he’ll treat him like the good guy alright. And he had just the plan to do so.

“Are you feeling okay Babbo?” Junior asked, letting out a small purr as he uncurled himself from Luigi’s lap to look at his soon-to-be stepdad.
“Huh?” Luigi broke out of his trance, meeting Junior’s worried look, “Oh, I’m fine baby, just pre-wedding nerves.”
“Don’t worry, Papa loves you so much to the point its grossing everyone out!” The smallest koopaling buried his face into Luigi’s neck, “Trust me, nothing is gonna stop him from marrying you today! He’d even marry you while dressed like that!”
“Junior, I’m not even ready yet,” Luigi chuckled. The human was wearing a fluffy baby blue robe as he waited for Peach, Daisy, Rosalina and his brother to get back with make-up, his wedding dress and food, to make sure he had something to eat before the banquet later.
“Exactly!” Junior chortled, “Papa was never this way with Peach, he looks at you like you’re a million superstars! Everything will be fine Dad, I promise!”
“Aw, thanks ragazzino,” Luigi cooed, hugging his stepson tightly before Luigi’s bedroom door opened and in came Mario, Polterpup and the princesses, “Junior here was making sure that I wasn’t feeling nervous before the wedding.”
“Aw, buddy!” Mario grinned and ruffled his nephew’s hair, who giggled at his uncle’s antics.
“Junior, could you go check on your father please?” Peach suggested, “I have the feeling he might also need one of your pep talks, you’ll also need to get ready as well. Take Polterpup as well, Kamek told me that he wanted to practice walking down the aisle with the rings one last time.”
“Okay Aunt Peach, come on Polterpup,” Junior jumped off Luigi’s lap and make his way out with the pooch by his side, shutting the door behind him.
Mario turned to his younger brother, “You doing okay Lu?”
“Yeah,” Luigi nodded, “Just a little nervous, you know?”
“Do you think you’re able to eat something?” Mario asked.
“Yeah, I think I’m able to,” Luigi gave his big brother a small smile.
“I hope so,” Daisy spoke up, “Cause your mom just gave us a buttload of pizza and man does it smell good!”
As soon as she placed the bags down, Luigi caught a whiff of the familiar homemade smell of his mother’s pizza and his stomach began to growl.
“Your mother is very kind Luigi,” Rosalina said, taking a slice for herself, “Though, I will admit, she did seem quite perplexed when Daisy and I had to correct her when she assumed we were…” her hand covered her mouth as she tried to hold back a laugh, “friends.”
“Oh no!” Luigi started to laugh as well as Peach, Daisy and Mario, clutching their stomachs at the thought of his poor mother’s confused face, “Poor ma!”
“I know!” Daisy cackled, “And the moment she realised she started apologizing for assuming and I was trying so hard not to burst, the poor woman!”
“Now, now Daisy darling,” Rosalina put her hand on her partner’s shoulder, “This is not the time to lose our composure over a silly mistake.”
Daisy let out another breathy giggle and placed her hand over Rosalina’s, “You’re right Rosa, though you have to admit, I was doing a much better job at controlling myself than you.”
The tall blonde raised an eyebrow at the shorter brunette, “Oh is that so?”
“Uh, yeah!” Daisy smirked, placing her hands on her hips, “You couldn’t stop trembling from trying to keep yourself together until you let out the loudest snort I ever heard!”
Rosalina rolled her eyes fondly, tucking a lock of Daisy’s hair behind her ear and cupped her cheek. “If that’s what makes you feel better, beloved,” she nuzzled her nose against her girlfriend’s, secretly relishing the way her cheeks flamed.
Daisy pouted and crossed her arms over her chest, “That’s cheating.”
“Alright lovebirds,” Peach made her way over to the other two princesses, “How about we focus on our groom here and making sure he’s prepared for his wedding.”
Daisy lit up at that, “Hell yeah!”
“I agree, we should keep our priorities in order,” Rosalina nodded.
Mario gripped his younger brother’s shoulders, “What do you say Lu? Food first then the make-up and dress?”
“Yeah,” Luigi leaned into Mario’s touch, “That sounds great.”
“Alright!” Peach cheered, “Strap yourselves in ladies and gentlemen, we’re gonna make a magical wedding!”
Everyone seemed to light up at Peach’s words. Once they pizzas were devoured, Mario had gone behind a divider to put on his tuxedo while the princesses focused on Luigi’s make-up, each of them having a turn before letting the other take over so they could put their own make-up on. It was a simple look they went for, white eyeshadow that held a little bit of sparkle, a soft pink blush and a peach coloured and flavoured lip gloss (it had belonged to the princess of that same name).
Once Mario was changed, the girls went behind the divider to change into their bridesmaids’ dresses while the older brother assisted Luigi with his gown.
The princesses emerged a while later wearing similar yet different dresses. Each dress had the same glittering tulle fabric, sweetheart neckline and full-length pleated skirt, the only different being the colours and sleeves. They all had the princesses’ respective royal colours, pink, yellow and blue, while Peach had short puff sleeves, Rosalina had off -the-shoulder ones that ended at the start of her wrists and Daisy wore no sleeves at all.
The girls gasped when they saw Luigi in his white wedding dress for the first time. It had a sheer blouse with little buttons leading from the collar to the bodice on top, which had a straight neckline and was embroidered with glittering vines, starting from the top of the neckline and ending at the top of a puffy, shimmering ballgown skirt. It was all topped off with a silver, sparkly tiara rested on the top of his head.
“Oh Luigi!” Peach brought her hands to her mouth, holding back tears, “You look-”
“-You look smoking baby!” Daisy grinned, bumping her hips against his as Luigi smiled bashfully.
“I agree with Daisy,” Rosalina nodded, taking her girlfriend’s hand into her own, “You look wonderful Luigi.”
Luigi rubbed his hands nervously, “Thank you everyone,” Luigi sniffed, Mario gently wiped the tear away so it wouldn’t ruin his make-up. Luigi let out a heavy sigh, “I think my nerves are acting up again.”
“Everything is gonna be fine Lu,” Mario reassured him, wrapping an arm around his younger brother and rubbed his back, “The moment Bowser sees you, he’s probably propose a thousand more times!”
That made Luigi laugh a little bit, some of his tension starting to relieve.
“Your brother is right Luigi,” Rosalina took a step towards him, “I’ve seen how Bowser looks at you and trust me when I say that I know how he feels about you since…I feel the same way with someone else.” Rosalina turned her head towards her girlfriend, Daisy squeezing the blonde’s hand as her smile widened.
“Also,” Peach started, “The big fella hasn’t been able to keep his hands off you ever since the two of you met, you’ve got him wrapped around your finger and I’m dying to see the look on his face when he sees you in that dress.”
“Hey, maybe I should wear a dress when we get married?” Mario suggested.
Peach squealed at her fiancé, “Yes! You would look so adorable in a dress! We would match and-!”
“-Okay heteroes, slow down,” Daisy interjected, shaking her head fondly at the pink princess and her plumber, “This day isn’t about you, let’s put our focus back on our groom here.”
“Well, what about you Daisy,” Luigi smirked at his friend, “You and Rosalina have been together for quite a while, when are you two getting hitched?”
Daisy spluttered and gasped while Rosalina’s face went as red as a tomato and hide her face in her hands at Luigi’s cheeky question. “H-hey! We haven’t- well we have talked but- It’s none of your business Luigi!” Daisy pouted, stomping over to her girlfriend, and burying her head in the blonde’s chest as Rosalina wrapped her arms around the shorter princess and hid her face in Daisy’s brown hair.
Peach and Mario absolutely lost it at what Luigi said, the latter slapping his knee as he and Peach howled with laughter. “Dang bro!” Mario wiped a tear from his eye, “You really have been spending quite some time with Bowser, haven’t you?!”
Luigi smiled softly, his mind drifting to the koopa, “Yeah…and today marks the start of a new life with him.”
Mario took his brother’s hand, “It’s almost time to go out soon, you ready?”
“Yeah,” Luigi nodded, “I really am.”
Peach wrapped her arms around her soon to be brother-in-law, “We’re so happy for you Luigi. And if you’re still feeling nervous, something tells me that Bowser also just as nervous as you are.”
“What? No way,” Luigi retorted with a snort, “I’ll bet you that Bowser isn’t freaking out right now.”
.
.
.
“I am totally freaking out right now!” Bowser hissed through clenched teeth. The wedding was taking place at the top of the volcano inhabiting Bowser’s floating castle. The seats were flooded with members of each kingdom – including his own subjects, the Mushroom Kingdom’s, Sarasaland’s, the Luma’s, the Jungle Kingdom, The Penguin Kingdom and Luigi’s family as well (Luigi’s mother, while sweet, still scared the life out of Bowser).
The king of the koopa’s was praying to whatever god was out there that he wasn’t sweating through his three-piece-suit. He wore a black blazer and trousers with accents on the cuffs of both that were shaped and coloured like fire. Underneath the blazer was a red blouse and covering his feet were a pair of shiny coal boots. His hair was swooped to the side and had decorated his eyes with eyeliner to make them pop out more. Now he really hoped he wasn’t sweating right now as he thought about that make-up.
“You’re gonna be fine Papa,” Junior piped up, his little ‘best man’ standing by his side, “Babbo was worrying about the same thing earlier, he wants to marry you as much as you want to marry him.”
“But he’s not here yet!” He whispered to his son, “Why’s he not here yet? Is he hurt? Did he change his mind and realise that I’m not good enough for him?!”
“If I may sire?” Kamek said, standing next to his surrogate son to officiate the wedding, “The reason he’s not here yet is because its not time for him to walk down the aisle, we still have five minutes before the ceremony starts. Also, that young man is one of the sweetest humans that I have ever met in my entire life, his dedication to the love that you to share is the strongest that I’ve ever seen. I find it impossible that he has changed his mind about his decision to marry you.”
Bowser sighed, “You’re right Kamek, you’re right. I know Luigi would never do that. Its just…I love him so much; I don’t ever want to lose him or have anything happen to him.”
Kamek smiled, “I’m aware sire and I think what you two have is wonderful. Now straighten your back, wipe that sweat off your brow and pull yourself together.”
“I can’t help that I’m sweating!” Bowser retorted, wiping the back of his head against his forehead, “Why is it so damn hot!”
“Dad, we literally live inside a volcano, of course its hot,” Junior deadpanned, “Also, you’ve been in heat hotter than this and literally never said a word!”
Bowser’s eyes widened, “Oh.”
It was when the strings from the wedding band’s instruments began to pluck did Bowser take Kamek’s advice, fixing himself up as he looked towards the doors that Luigi would be walking out of soon. The subjects from each kingdom and Luigi’s family turned as to the doors as well (Luigi’s niece had also began recording everything on their phone). The princesses walked out first in a triangle formation, making their way to the end of the aisle as they stood to the side where Luigi would be soon. Peach nodded respectfully to Bowser, the latter nodding back knowing that the pink princess was happy that this wedding would have her or anyone else be forced into marrying the koopa king. Then it was Polterpup’s turn, the ghostly dog prancing down with a red bow around his neck as he carried a pillow with the rings to the end of the aisle.
Once she made her way to her spot, the strings of the band softened. Bowser’s stomach churned, looking to the ground as he shuffled his feet nervously. It was only when he heard gasps from the crowd, did he finally look up. His jaw dropped. With his arm linked with his older brother’s to give him away, Luigi started walking down the aisle. He was so beautiful, to the way his eyes sparkled with the skirt of his dress, his blush blossoming against his cheeks and the smile he gave Bowser as he got closer and closer to him.
All of Bowser’s doubts went away as he returned the smile to his soon-to-be-husband. Everything was going to be fine; he was going to get married to the most amazing man he ever met and be the happiest he had ever been in his life.
He held his hands out to Luigi, who shared one more look with his older brother. Mario nodded, taking Luigi’s small hands into Bowser’s as he went over to join Peach. Bowser tightened his grip on his fiancé’s hands ever so gently as Luigi’s smile turned watery, joy talking over the tiny human. It seemed to be infecting Bowser as well, for the same look started to appear on his face as well.
It was perfect.
Kamek cleared his throat, “Dearly belove-haackkkk!!!!!”
Everyone gasped as a rock collided to the magikoopa’s back, sending him to the ground unconscious. Bowser wanted to go check on him, but the roaring of an airship had him whipping his head round to find the culprit who did this. A growl left his throat as he found out who’s airship this was once he saw the emblem on the front.
“King Boo,” Luigi whimpered.
Bowser could feel his fiancé trembling, stepping in front of him to protect him from the boos and ghosts starting to pour out of the ship and spooking some of the guests in their seats. Polterpup growled at the invaders who had frightened his master plenty of times before.
A wicked cackle echoed throughout the air, making everyone jump as King Boo appeared in front of Bowser and Luigi. “Well, well, well, if it isn’t the happy couple!” he grinned maliciously, “I sure hope I didn’t ruin anything!”
“You weren’t wanted here Boo!” Bowser snarled at the poltergeist, “Leave while you can before you find out if you’re able to die twice!”
King Boo let out a fake, melodramatic gasp, placing his hand to his mouth as though he were offended, “Now Bowser, is that really any way to greet an old friend? I’m simply here to offer my congratulations, or rather, my condolences. After all, since your ‘Peaches’ was already snatched up by Mario over here, you’d have to go for leftovers instead.”
The disrespectful words that King Boo had for Bowser’s soon-to-be-husband was enough to infuriate Bowser. He swiped his claws at the ghost, sending King Boo back a few feet before crouching onto all fours in front of his fiancé in a protective stance, breath heaving with soft but threatening growls and a dangerous glint in his eyes and King Boo dared to come closer. “If you say one more word about my fiancé, I will make you regret every single time you’ve lured him to your mansions!”
“My, my!” King Boo drawled, a smirk on satisfaction creeping onto his pale – lack of – complexion, “Aren’t we defensive today?! I was merely stating the truth!”
“Then its clear that you have no idea what the truth is actually!” Bowser spat at him, “I love Luigi more than you can even comprehend, because of him I was able to be inspired to become better koopa and leader! Something that no one can say about you!”
King Boo grit his teeth and growled at that latest remark, when he saw that a few of his own subjects were giggling at Bowser’s words he sent them a cold glare, reminding them of their place. “At least I haven’t become soft enough to not expect an attack,” he turned to his boos, “GET THEM!”
In a flash, the boo’s and the koopa were immediately at each other’s throats. The toads were trying to lead the guests and Junior back into the castle to avoid them getting hurt, Rosalina had pulled out her hidden wand from her sleeve and casting spells to avoid the boo’s attacks, Daisy wasn’t hesitating to punch and kick as hard as she could and had some colourful language each time a boo tried to land a hit on her before she retaliated – if the boo’s didn’t know not to mess with her before then they did now -, Mario and Peach were working together, each of them using and ice and fire flower respectively to try and form a wall of heat and cold to guard Luigi from King Boo. As for the couple, Bowser remained on all fours, blasting fire from his throat every time King Boo tried to take even an inch towards Luigi.
Luigi’s eyes darted around the place in panic, from his fiancé to his brother, to the princesses and King Boo as well. Polterpup was beside him as a source of comfort to prevent him from further spiralling. Is this why E. Gadd hadn’t shown up to the wedding? After all the old scientist expressed nothing but joy at his surrogate son getting married, did King Boo do something to make sure he didn’t intervene with his plans?! If only he had his Poltergust with him, instead of standing around doing nothing. He did want to help but his dress would prevent him from landing any attacks and he had the feeling that everyone was a bit more protective over him due to the sudden turn of events.
When things seemed like it couldn’t get any worse, the boom of a canon made Luigi’s blood run cold. Along the side of King Boo’s ship were cannons firing towards the alter, hitting close to everyone and sending them flying a few feet and landing on their sides.
Luigi got up from his spot after getting hit, the bottom hem of his skirt singed, his ears were ringing and his head was pounding. Looking up and seeing that Bowser was on the ground and good length away from him, the koopa king was trying to get up but put too much weight on an injured arm and collapsed to the ground again.
Forgetting the screaming headache, Luigi tried to rush to Bowser, but was snatched up by two boos. He felt himself being lifted from the ground, letting out a panicked cry as he was led away to King Boo’s ship.
The poltergeist grinned maliciously; everything was going according to plan. With a whistle, the rest of his boos stopped attacking and trailed back onto the ship.
After standing up and regaining his bearing, Bowser’s immediate instinct was to look for Luigi. His eyes widened when he couldn’t see his fiancé anywhere, only for his heart to plummet to the pit of his stomach when he finally saw Luigi being hauled away onto the ship.
“BOWSER!” Luigi cried out for him.
Injured arm be damned, Bowser was on all fours again, trying to chase after the ship and boos, “LUIGI!”
But it was too late, Luigi was gone and in King Boo’s grasp.
Everyone else was starting to come to, Mario rubbing his chest where he got hit before rushing to Peach and helping her to her feet. Rosalina had sat up from where she was sitting, cradling a barely lucid Daisy in her lap as the brunette tried to keep her eyes open. Even Kamek, who had remained from where he was hit, was finally waking up.
“Why does this always happen to me at weddings?” the magikoopa grumbled. However, his ceased with his mumbling when he saw his son pacing around on all fours, limping on his front left arm. “Bowser! What happened?! Here now let me see that arm!”
When Kamek when to touch his arm, the king whirled round and snarled at the new unknown threat, only to whimper with guilt when he saw that it was only his father figure trying to help. “Don’t worry, I know you’re not in the right headspace at the moment,” Kamek soothed the panicked koopa, “Just let me heal that arm of yours before it gets any worse. While I do that could somebody please tell me what on earth happened here!”
“It was King Boo,” Rosalina spoke up, still cradling Daisy in her arms as she stood up, “It seems as though he decided to invite himself last minute and left quite a…mess, to say the least.” The space princess grimaced as she looked around at the exploded seats, splattered wedding cake and singes in the walls as well.
“Wait a minute,” Mario looked around, realisation seeping in, “Did he take Luigi?!”
“I should’ve stopped him,” Bowser murmured as Kamek finished his healing spell, “I’m supposed to be stronger than this.”
“Now that is just nonsense!” Kamek spluttered, “King Boo is nothing but an unhappy overgrown marshmallow who thrives upon the misery of others who earn their happiness through kindness and courage. None of this is your fault.”
“You don’t understand,” Bowser shook his head, “When I proposed to Luigi I made a promise to him, his family and Mario that no matter what I would always protect him and love him as selflessly as possible, and I failed him before we could even exchange vows,” he turned to Mario, “I’m so sorry I broke my promise.”
“Hey!” Mario frowned, “I might not have understood you and Luigi at first, but the more I saw you too together, the more I realised who you truly are underneath that shell of yours. Luigi might not have changed you, but he did inspire you to become the version of yourself that you wanted to be. You loving Luigi made me see just how far you’ve come, Kamek’s right, its not your fault that King Boo is a selfish prick!”
“Mario!” Peach gasped.
Mario chuckled before turning back to the koopa, “You promised to keep Luigi safe and to love him selflessly, not for King Boo to kidnap him. If you really wanna keep your promise, we’re gonna get our shit together, storm King Boo’s castle and get my brother back!”
“Now that is something I can definitely agree on,” Kamek smiled, who had used his healing spell on everyone and was moving onto Daisy. The second he waved his wand, Daisy jumped out of her girlfriend’s arms, picked up a dropped sword from the ground and raised it above her head.
“LET’S KICK SOME BLOODY BOO ARSE” She screeched.
“Daisy,” Rosalina shook her head fondly at the brunette.
Bowser smiled softly, he took in his new family, the family he would be marrying into. He never thought he could be this happy, or that he was allowed to be this happy. But ever since meeting Luigi, he found himself confronting the worst parts of himself that he had avoiding for so long, denying that he was in the wrong. But the more he learned about the brothers’ adventures, about the evils that were worse than him, including Luigi’s trips to King Boo’s mansions, he knew that he wanted to be better than that. It took a lot of trial and error, but it was worth. He became a better ruler, a kinder soul, a gentle lover. All of that was thanks to Luigi.
Bowser finally stood to his full height, rolling his shoulders back and letting a few bones crack. “Let’s make King Boo pay.”
Everyone grinned at one another, plans already formulating in their heads on how to get Luigi back. “We can’t just waltz right in there with nothing, especially without a change of clothes,” she glanced down at her ruined dress, pouting at the state.
“We’ll also need someone who’s dealt with boos before,” Mario agreed.
“Then its decided,” Kamek spoke up, “After a change of clothes, we’ll head straight to E. Gadd and get his help. If King Boo has done something to him, we’ll have to act fast.”

Luigi sighed as he tried to unlock the door again. Once they arrived at King Boo’s castle, the mad ruler shoved him into an empty bedroom and locked the door behind him. He had to admit, the room was hauntingly beautiful, from the grey and black walls to the luxurious queen-sized canopy bed to the sparkling chandelier, it was a sceptical to look at. The cons however were the locked door and the lack of windows, reminding Luigi that he was still a prisoner.
He wasn’t sure how much time had passed, only that it was after the hundredth time of trying to unlock the door did, he give his tired hands a break. He kicked off his heels and collapsed onto the bed, he just wanted to go home. He wanted to hear his brother’s awful jokes, his family nagging at his to eat, to have tea with the princesses, play video games with Junior and snuggle up in Bowser’s arms as the koopa played the piano for him. Why was King Boo always trying to ruin things for him?! Could he not have one day where the ghostly king would leave him be?
Suddenly, a boo was floating through the wall, making Luigi let out a strangled gasp as he backed up on the bed, pressing his bed against the pillows. “Now, now dear boy there’s no need to panic,” the boo reassured him, “My name is Bingley, I’m only here to help with your fitting.”
“My what?”
“Your fitting, by King Boo’s orders,” Bingley informed him.
Luigi shook his head in disbelief, “Wait, wait, wait, why would King Boo-?”
“Please young sir, the master is already upset and anymore delays would only increase his anger,” Bingley pleaded with him and was over to Luigi in an instant, pulling him off the bed and in front of a mirror. In a flash, the boo had managed to pull out a roll of measuring tape, measure out each length of Luigi’s limbs and floated out the room again. Luigi only had a moment to pull himself together before Bingley floated back into the room with a black gown in his arms. “For you good sir. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to continue with preparations, I’ll leave you to get changed.”
“Wait I-!” Luigi called out, but to no avail, the boo was gone again. With a sigh, he held up the gown. It seemed nice enough, plus he was in enemy territory so refusing the garment could make things worse.
He carefully stripped off his white dress, laying it gently on the bed before pulling on the black one. Once he was complete, he looked at himself in the mirror. The new dress he wore consisted of a tight-laced over-bust corset with a poofy bertha across his collarbones and shoulders, lace bell sleeves that drooped over his wrists, a ruffled high-low skirt that trailed at the back and exposed his legs, lacey black tights that hugged his curved thighs generously and a pair of black heels were left by the side of his bed for him to complete his look.
Luigi flushed at the new look, while he loved wearing dresses and gowns along with his regular shirts and slacks, this was a style that he had never thought about trying before so he certainly wasn’t used to how this new outfit looked on him. It was nice but it left him blushing at the thought of walking out of this room wearing it.
Just as he was slipping on his heels, Bingley floated through the walls again, marvelling his work, “Oh marvellous, you look simply marvellous! I must say this is my best work yet. Now all we need is the veil and the look will be complete.”
“Veil!” Luigi spluttered, “Why do I need a veil?!”
“Isn’t it obvious Luigi,” The mocking voice of King Boo made Luigi freeze in his spot as he slowly turned to face the monarch, “We’re gonna get married!”
“…WHAT?!” Luigi screamed; fear started to settle in again.
“Well it makes sense, doesn’t it?” King Boo sneered, “Your beloved Bowser always kidnapped Peach back when he was a bad guy and you and your brother would always go meddling with his plans to get her back. But now since Bowser wants to be a goody-two-shoes, he thinks that he can get away with leaving our friendship behind! Well tough shit! If he wants to play the good guy, then he’s gonna get treated the way good guys should!”
“So let me get this straight, the only reason you’re marrying me is just to get back at Bowser for wanting to be a better person, or in his case koopa?” Luigi deadpanned.
“Well duh, you honestly think I’m doing this because I like you?!” King Boo gagged, Luigi didn’t know whether to feel flattered or offended that the thought of marrying him made the ghost feel sick. “I’m letting that dragon wannabe get a taste of his own medicine, the only difference is that when he’s getting here, he ain’t walking out with a victory or a bride in his arms.”
The monarch cackled, frightening Luigi all over again. Even before he and Bowser got together, he always believed that King Boo was the worse out of the two. Even though Bowser was great when they first met – to put it mildly- in a way, he still cared for his subjects and believed that his wrong actions were good in a way. There were even times as foes when the koopa would help him and his brother on missions, showing some light in the koopa that proved he was worth redemption. But with King Boo, he wasn’t in denial about being awful, he loved being horrible and committed each terrible actions with glee, and the way he spoke to and about his subjects make Luigi gawk at how someone could say such unkind things with a grin of his face.
The king took that as his sign to leave. Bingley followed behind, a sad look on his face. “I’m sorry,” was the last thing he said before disappearing.
Luigi sunk to his knees, the reality of the situation becoming much clearer than before, he could only hope that this would end how his and Mario’s adventures would and Bowser will be able to save him. “Oh Bowser,” he whimpered, “Please hurry,”

.
“This is where the old man stays?” the koopa king inquired, as he, the princesses, Mario and Kamek came up to the Evershade Valley Mansions, koopa and toad soldiers following behind. They had changed out of their formal attire before arriving, with Mario wearing his normal overalls, the princesses changed into their biker suits, Bowser had dawned his normal spiked neck and arm bracers while Kamek continued to war his blue cloak. Polterpup was currently trailing by Bowser’s feet, offering as much comfort as he could to his master’s fiancé.
“From what Luigi told me, E. Gadd continued his research here along with a few ghost that didn’t want to be acquainted with King Boo,” Mario informed the group, scanning his surroundings at the same time.
“I don’t know whether to a grateful or wary about the lack of ghosts here,” said Peach, clutching her axe “Keep your eyes open in case it’s a trap.”
“Whether the ghosts assisted King Boo with stabilising the doctor or they had no choice in the matter,” Kamek spoke up, “It is important to wait until we find E. Gadd before jumping to any conclusions.”
The group nodded in agreement when suddenly, Polterpup sniffed the air as a familiar scent was caught in the air. With an excited yip, he tore down the path down to the main mansion ahead.
“Polterpup, wait!” Bowser called out.
“We need to go after him,” said Mario, “He probably knows where E. Gadd is!”
Bowser turned to the guards outside, “You all stay there and keep watch, inform us immediately if you see anything suspicious!”
The soldiers nodded as the group chased down the little blur of white as the pup faded through the walls of the mansion. They opened the doors as carefully as they could, making sure not to alert any ghosts that could still be wandering by.
They spotted the little dog sniffing the floor, turning his head to the group as though he were telling them to follow him. Bowser was the first to move, desperate to find the doctor as soon as possible so that Luigi was back and safe with him. After a few twists and turns, Polterpup soon led them down a basement. Lo and behold, frozen in a painting was E. Gadd, his face frozen with terror. Polterpup whined at the state the old man was in, looking up to Bowser pleadingly.
Bowser patted the little dog’s head, “Don’t worry boy, we’ll get him out.” He turned to the others, “What was the device that Luigi used that helped get you out of the portrait?”
“He said something about a dark-light device,” said Mario, “I’ll go look for it, I’m quite familiar with place.”
“I’ll come with you,” Peach placed a hand on his shoulder, “I don’t want you doing this alone.”
“Are you sure?” Mario asked, “You’ve never been here before, I don’t want you getting hurt.”
“I know, but I have been caught by King Boo before, so I know how it feels,” Peach reassured him, “Besides, Luigi means a lot to me as well and I want to help get him back.”
Mario smiled warmly, taking Peach’s hand off his shoulder and pressed a gentle kiss to the back of it, “Okay.”
“We’ll stay here with Bowser,” said Rosalina, gesturing to herself, Daisy and Kamek, “In case anything happens.”
Mario and Peach nodded, making their way back up the stairs as they searched the empty mansion.
“Be careful, the last thing we needed is someone sneaking up on us,” Mario told her.
“Don’t worry dear, I can handle myself,” Peach answered. When arriving at the second floor, the due came across a room that seem to be more lived in than the others. The sheets of the bed were clean, the wardrobe was half open and filled with clothing, and a chest with E. Gadd’s crest on the front of it. Peach turned to Mario with a proud smirk on her face, “I believe we have a lead.”
Mario grinned at the Princess as the two made there way over, “There seems to be a lock on this.”
“Stand back,” Peach gently pushed him away as the lifted the axe before her head, but before it could make contact with anything, a ghost burst its head out of the chest, startling her and making her fall back.
“Peach!” Mario cried out, rushing over to her and helping her up.
“Leave!” the ghost screeched, though not as angry as it tried to make itself out to be, it was more worried and fearful is anything, “Leave while you can!”
“Sorry,” Mario shook his head, “But I’ve got a brother to save.”
The sound of bars slamming the ground made the due whip their heads round, the door was blocked by some sort of ectoplasm bars and more ghosts teleporting into the room. With quick thinking, Peach slammed her axe down onto the chest, breaking it and revealing a poltergust and a dark light. Mario quickly grabbed the two items, slinging the poltergust onto his side and clipping the dark light to his belt, “Peach, cover me!”
The princess nodded, swinging her axe at any ghost that tried to come close to her or Mario. Quickly switching the poltergust on, he aimed it towards the first ghost that tried to attack them, as the poltergust began sucking the ghost in, Mario slammed him to the ground a few times before the ghost was fully stored inside. This continued on, with Peach guarding his back with her axe while Mario sucked in the ghosts. During this he couldn’t help but feel proud of his baby brother, this is what he did every time Mario was captured and managed to do it each time without fail. He was definitely going to pay for Luigi and Bowser’s honeymoon the second they find him.
Once the last ghost was sucked up, the duo raced out of the room and back down to the basement before they were stopped again. Bowser perked up the minute he saw the dark light.
“You got it!” Bowser exclaimed.
“Yeah, not without a little trail and error first,” Mario chuckled, “Stand aside, I’m getting the doctor out.”
As Bowser did that, Mario attached the dark light to the poltergust and aimed it to the painting. With the flick of the switch and the soft glow of the dark light doing its work, E. Gadd stumbled out on the painting and fell onto his bottom. Polterpup barked happily and went over to lick the old man’s face.
“Oh my, Polterpup please give me some space!” E. Gadd spluttered.
Bowser suppressed a laugh as he lifted the pup up with one hand, “It’s good to see you again doctor.”
“I express the same sentiments, although I do wish it was under different circumstances,” the old man muttered.
“Would you mind explaining what happened here?” Kamek asked.
“Well its simple really, I was preparing myself for Luigi’s wedding until that blasted King Boo barged in and grabbed my dark light before I had any time to react. When I tried to call out to my ghost friends, King Boo had forced them to assist him and threated that they face dire consequences if they didn’t do as he commanded. In the blink of an eye I was suddenly in the painting and was forced to listen to his plans with Luigi,” E. Gadd recounted his story.
“Plans with Luigi?” Bowser frowned, dread returning once again, “What plans does he have with my fiancé?”
“For some reason, that mad King believes that the best way to get back at you is kidnapping and marrying Luigi!” E. Gadd told him.
“He plans to what?” Bowser growled, the thought of his sweet and kind Luigi being forced to marry the one he feared most made his stomach churn.
“Apparently the king was quite upset that you left your friendship behind,” said E. Gadd, “He wants to recreate each time you’ve kidnapped Peach in order for you to get a taste of your own medicine.”
Daisy burst out laughing, “I really don’t mean to react like this but oh my god! Bowser’s finally getting karma I can’t believe it! This is what you get for kidnapping my best friend!”
“Daisy, please,” Rosalina sighed, “Don’t mind her, she means well.”
Bowser groaned and rubbed his face, “She’s kinda right though, I deserve this after putting Peach through all of my ridiculous plans.”
“Which you have shown remorse for and I’ve already forgiven you,” said Peach, “Now I believe you have a fiancé to rescue before he becomes someone else’s bride.”
The image of Luigi and King Boo flashing in his mind was what made his head get back into the game, “Doctor, tell me you have something to help save Luigi.”
“Well lucky for you my friends, I have learned a little titbit over my years of research,” the old man grinned, “Always make sure to pack extra.”

.
Luigi sighed as he clutched a bouquet of black roses as he waited at the doors that were attached to the castle ballroom. He wished he was back in the koopa kingdom, wearing the dress that he chose, walking down the aisle with Mario, smiling at all his friends and family as he and Bowser exchanged vows. Why did this always happen to him? And why did it have to be today of all days?
“Mister Luigi?” A little voice piped up.
Luigi looked to his left, a soft smile forming on his lips as he saw a little baby boo by his side, “Oh, hello piccolo. Are you alright?”
“I was actually going to ask you that,” the baby boo said, “I know you find our master really scary.”
Luigi’s face fell a little, “He doesn’t really like me that much.”
“Then why does he want to marry you?” the little boo asked, “My mama always said that you should marry for love.”
“And your mama is absolutely right,” Luigi tapped the boo on the nose – or where its nose should be – “But King Boo is doing this for the wrong reasons, that’s why I’m so sad.”
“I’m sorry,” the baby boo nuzzled itself into Luigi’s neck, with Luigi nuzzling right back.
“It’s not your fault bambino,” Luigi patted its head, “Sometimes there are those who do these types of things and we often don’t know why they do it.”
“I hope that you’ll get to marry someone you love soon,” said the little baby boo, “I don’t know if this will make you happy, but you look really pretty!”
Luigi chuckled and nuzzled the boo again, “Thank you, that does make me feel a bit happy.”
The sound of trumpets made him gasp; the wedding was starting.
“I have to go,” the baby boo whimpered, “I don’t want to get in trouble, be careful Mister Luigi!”
The boo disappeared as the doors opened. Luigi gulped as he forced himself to walk down the aisle. The guests consisted of other ghosts and boos, looking extremely guilty about the whole ordeal. At the end of the aisle was King Boo, smugly straightening a bowtie. Luigi dreaded for what would happen once he made it to the end, pleading internally for something – anything – to put an end to this.
He made it to the end of the aisle, King Boo grinning as a ghost officiant began his speech. “We are gathered here to celebrate the union between our King and the green half of the Mushroom Kingdom Heroes,” the ghost began to shake under the fearful stare King Boo was giving him, “Though this couple seems unlikely, it is this ceremony that shows-”
“-Yada, yada, yada!” King Boo interrupted, looking irritated already, “Just skip to the ‘I do’s’ would ya!”
“Um, yes, of course your majesty,” the ghost stammered, “Do you King Boo accept Luigi’s hand in marriage.”
King Boo cackled, “I do,”
“And do you Luigi accept our King as your husband,” the ghost turned to the human.
Luigi trembled, desperately wanting to say no. But he was at the mercy of the king, if he was to say no who knows what would happen? The last thing he wanted was for anyone to get hurt because of him. Someone, please, get me out of here! Help me, please!
Crash!
The windows shattered, glass falling everywhere, Luigi lifted to arms to shield himself but when he lowered them, Bowser was stood in front of him with a poltergust in hand. “Bowser!” he all but cried tears of happiness seeing the love of his life.
“Luigi!” yelled back with the same amount of joy.
The human was about to run to the koopa when he was grabbed by King Boo and the two of them were ascended to the ceiling. “Sorry old friend!” King Boo sneered, “But your little human belongs to me now!”
“Um, actually sire,” the ghost officiant spoke up, cowering when King Boo glared down at him, “The human didn’t repeat his vows, therefore you too aren’t married yet.”
“WHAT?!” King Boo screeched, turning back to Bowser, “It doesn’t matter, whether he likes it or not, Luigi will be my subject.” He turned to the rest of the ghosts and boos “What are you waiting for?! GET HIM!”
Within seconds, every single boo and ghost went to attack Bowser straight away. The koopa was prepared however, taking out the poltergust and aiming it at each one that came his way. When one boo or ghost was being sucked up, Bowser would slam them to the ground, dodge aa hit from another attacker, slam the half sucked-up ghost to the attacker, and repeat again each time after a ghost or boo was stored away into the poltergust.
“That’s it Bowser!” Luigi cheered, earning a proud and flustered grin from the koopa, “That’s my fiancé!”
“Would you shut up!” King Boo screeched into his ear, “Hurry up and say I do before I make you regret it!”
“Never in a million years,” Luigi retorted, feeling a bit bolder, “I have faith that Bowser is going to defeat you, if you’re going to pretend to be like my fiancé, you have to accept that you’re going to lose like he did.”
“I heard that!” Bowser yelled.
“PRETEND?!” King Boo screamed, “I AM TWICE THE KING THAN BOWSER WILL EVER BE! HERE, IF YOU DON’T BELIEVE ME, I’LL SHOW YA! SQUISH HIM FLAT YOU FOOLS!”
The ghosts and boos paled at that order, they only wanted to distract Bowser, even if it wasn’t working. But deep down, they were secretly hoping that the koopa would be able to stop them so they wouldn’t need to deal with King Boo’s cruelty anymore. But an order was an order and there was no other back up plan. One by one, each boo and ghost piled on top of the koopa king, for what they lacked in size, the poltergeists made up in numbers. Soon, Bowser was stuck to the ground, trying desperately to keep a grip on the poltergust, but it slipped from his grasp.
“No!” Luigi tried to scramble out of King Boo’s hold, but it was too tight.
The king laughed maniacally, “Here’s the deal wimp, you other complete your vows, or I end your precious koopa right here right now. The choice is yours.”
Luigi bit his lip, glancing at the winded koopa on the ground, he didn’t want to make this worse than it already was. But just as he was about to agree, a faint chuckling rose from below the boo and human.
“Wow!” Bowser laughed, to the confusion of King Boo and his subjects, “How is your ego worse than mine old pal?”
“Excuse me,” King Boo growled, “You’re nothing but a pathetic waste on my castle floors, I have your little Luigi at my beck and call, yet you still believe that you can win this?!”
“I do, actually,” Bowser smirked, “I just have to wait in three…two…one.”
The roof crumbled, long ropes falling from the empty hole above as the toad and koopa armies swung down, poltergusts in tow. Within seconds, they were sucking up the boos and ghosts off Bowser, with the koopa lifting himself to his feet, rolling his shoulders back and picked his poltergust up from the ground. The princesses, Mario, E. Gadd and Kamek made their way down as well, with Mario and E. Gadd being the only ones with Poltergusts. Kamek and Rosalina had their wands while Daisy wielded a sword and Peach an axe.
Many more boos and ghosts flooded the ballroom, but by the looks on their faces, they were no match for Bowser’s friends and armies.
“COME AT ME YOU OVERGROWN MARSHMALLOWS!” Daisy shrieked at the incoming poltergeists.
“I’d advise surrendering,” Rosalina murmured, “My patience grows thin when my friends are endangered. Either that or you face my darling Daisy, trust me, you’d rather surrender now.”
“You ruin my son’s wedding and kidnapped my future son-in-law,” Kamek grumbled, “I plan to make your consequences extremely severe.”
“King Boo!” E. Gadd screamed, “Your lucky that if it wasn’t for Luigi, I’d burn your portraits by now, research be damned!”
“Luigi is one of my best friends,” Peach spoke calmly, though her eyes darkened, “I don’t take it well when people hurt my friends.”
“You shouldn’t have taken my brother!” Mario shouted, “One thing I always make sure is if anyone messes with Luigi, they regret it deeply!”
“Luigi is the love of my life,” smoke escaped from Bowser’s nostrils, the threat of what was to come being extremely clear, “You hurt him one too many times, and now, I’m going to take great pride with finding out just how to make you suffer for it.”
Luigi felt King Boo tremble, there was no denying how obvious it was, despite the stoic look he tried to maintain. “I-I…JUST SAY ‘I DO’ ALREADY YOU LITTLE!!!---” King Boo didn’t manage to finish his sentence when fire escaped from Bowser’s mouth, making the king drop Luigi.
Luigi screamed, afraid that he was going to meet the hard marble of the ground when he felt himself plopped into something warm and scaly. Taking in his surroundings, he noticed that the hand he was in had bright yellow scaled. Looking up, he met his fiancé’s beautiful red eyes and a tearful smile pulled at his lips, “Bowser, you came for me!”
He lunged himself at the koopa, gripping him tight in a hug. The koopa chuckled as he gripped Luigi back, “I wasn’t gonna let some dumb boo ruin our wedding. Besides, I promised to protect you, that means rescuing you from impromptu kidnappings.” Luigi pulled back, gentling cradling the koopa’s face in his hands before bringing him into a kiss. Bowser returned the kiss with the same amount of softness, before gently pulling back and resting his forehead against Luigi’s. It was then when his eyes trailed over Luigi’s form and noticed the new gown he was in. He blushed at the amount of exposed skin from Luigi’s tight-clad legs.
Once Luigi noticed the koopa’s gaze on him, he buried his face into his hands, squealing, “Oh god, I just realised I had this on! This is so embarrassing!”
“Well I’ll give King Boo this,” Bowser smirked, “He has a good taste in fashion. Though, I think its mostly you, you’re able to pull off everything.”
“Stop,” Luigi’s face was as red as his brother’s overalls, though he secretly loved the complement, “I genuinely don’t know how to feel about this dress, its really not my usual style.”
Bowser took pity on his fiancé’s flustered state, so he tore off a piece of a black curtain and wrapped it around the human. He pressed a kiss to the human’s forehead, “Better?”
“Much,” Luigi rested his head against the koopa’s muzzle “Thank you.”
“NO, NO!” the screams of King Boo tore the happy couple away from their tender moment as they turned to see the poltergeist being sucked into Mario’s poltergust, the rest of the ghosts and boos seemed to have been sucked up as well while the two were being reunited, “THIS ISN’T FAIR, I’M SUPPOSED TO WIN!”
Daisy whacked the flat edge of her sword against the boo’s head, assisting with Mario’s poltergust sucking up the King. “NO!” was the last word King Boo spoke before he too disappeared into the poltergust.
“And that is what happens what you mess with my brother,” Mario scowled. It quickly faded the moment he saw his brother, “Lu, are you okay?! This fantasma che mangia merda didn’t hurt you, did he?”
“No Mario, I’m okay!” Luigi sniffed at the sight of seeing his brother, the red plumber jumping into the koopa’s hand to give his brother a hug, “I’m okay Mario, you don’t need to worry.”
“Good, otherwise I’m getting Daisy to whack him with her sword again,” Mario muffled his words into Luigi’s shoulder, still squeezing him tight.
“I’m up for it!” Daisy put her thumbs up.
“Ah, ah, darling,” Rosalina hooked her thumb under Daisy’s chin, “Behave yourself.”
“Eh-uh-um…Rosa you can’t just pull that on me!” Daisy spluttered, blushing madly.
Luigi giggled, leaning into Bowser’s and Mario hold.
“We’re so glad you’re safe Luigi,” said Peach as she walked up to them, “We’ll make sure that this remains as a one-time thing.”
“After seeing how King Boo reacted to all of you bursting in like that, I’ll have to agree,” Luigi nodded.
“Its good to see you again son,” E. Gadd spoke up, Kamek by his side as the koopa agreed with every word the old man said, “I apologise for not making it to the wedding, as you can tell I was quite…preoccupied.”
“There’s no need to apologise doctor,” Luigi smiled, “I have a feeling we’ll need to push the wedding date back a little bit to clean up the mess King Boo left behind.”
“Well with a little help with my magic, the process should be a bit quicker,” said Kamek, “And I’ll finally have a proper chance to deal with King Boo and his subjects.”
However, at Kamek’s words, Luigi’s eyes flittered over to the full poltergusts in the corner, his smile drooped. Bowser took notice of the human’s change of demeanour immediately, “What’s wrong, love?”
“Its just…” Luigi sighed, turning to Bowser. Mario jumped down to give his brother more room, “I can’t help but feel sorry for the boos and ghosts under King Boo’s rule.”
“What?!” Daisy cried, “Those guys literally helped King Boo kidnap you?! You seriously feel sorry for them?!”
“Its not their fault!” Luigi retorted, “King Boo was forcing them to do that stuff, after all these years with dealing with him I get it. I don’t wait to punish them just because their boss scared them into doing something they didn’t want to do. I’m not saying they shouldn’t face consequences, but I want to give them the benefit of the doubt.” He placed his hand on Bowser’s cheek, “Just like someone else I know.”
Bowser leaned into the human’s touch, “You never cease to amaze me greenie.”
“Kamek,” Luigi turned to the magikoopa, “If you don’t mind, I would like to release these boos and ghosts to make them part of our kingdom, as long as they want to.”
“It would be my pleasure,” Kamek bowed before moving to the poltergusts,” With your permission E. Gadd, I’m going to remove King Boo’s old subjects out off these poltergusts and keep a hold of them, sans the king of course.”
“By all means go ahead,” E. Gadd stepped to the side as Kamek waved his wand, summoning the boos and ghost out of the poltergusts, yet making sure he used his magic to keep them from trying anything.
The poltergeists gazed around the room, confused until their eyes landed on Luigi. The human’s heart twisted when he saw the petrified looks on their faces, “There’s no need to worry, I’m not going to do anything. On behalf of myself and King Bowser, we would like to formally invite you all not only to be guests at our wedding, but to be citizens of our Kingdom as well.”
Each poltergeists’ eyes widened, each of them turning to face another ghost with surprise at the sudden news. “Although we aren’t letting you off the hook just yet,” Bowser spoke up, “We don’t want you to be in fear of King Boo anymore. In our kingdom, you will be safe and treated with the same respect as my own subjects.”
“Only if you wish of course,” Luigi reassured them, but the face splitting excited smiles each of the ghosts and boos had at the news they would finally be free of King Boo informed him what their answer would be. He nodded to Kamek to let them go, the poltergeists swirling and soaring through the air with joy, the baby boo from before rushing over to Luigi to nuzzle him again, with the human cuddling him fondly.
Bowser’s smile widened even more, holding his fiancé closer, wondering how he got so lucky. “Shall we head back home, dearest?”
“I would love that Mio Caro,” Luigi settled into the koopa’s arms, letting his eyes resting as he continued to cuddle the little boo.
Soon all the toads, koopa’s, boos and ghosts had filed up behind the rulers of their kingdoms as they headed back home.
.
.
.
A Few Weeks Later
“Do you Bowser, take Luigi’s hand in marriage as your lawfully wedded husband, to love him unconditionally until the end of time?”
“I do.”
“And do you Luigi, take Bowser’s hand in marriage as your lawfully wedded husband, to love him no matter what comes your way until you reunite in the cosmos?”
“I do.”
“By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you…married!” Kamek cheered.
The moment Bowser and Luigi’s lips met; the crowd rejoiced. The koopa, boos and toads were all hugging sobbing at the happy couple, Luigi’s family cried for their youngest son as they wished him and Bowser nothing but the best, Junior and Polterpup jumped up and down with joy at the sight of his dads finally being together, E. Gadd was sniffling into Kamek’s robe with the magikoopa complaining how dirty the doctor was getting it, Daisy and Rosalina smiled fondly at the happy couple as each princess planned on how they would propose to each other next, Mario and Peach had their arms around each other as they hoped that one day they would have a wedding just as magical as this. As for Bowser and Luigi, nothing else mattered in this moment apart from each other and how amazing the rest of their lives would be as long as the other was in it.
Luigi lifted his piranha plant bouquet into the air, letting the crowd get ready to catch it. He flung it up and let it go, letting it fly through the air until it landed in Daisy’s arms. She and Rosalina shared a look, the two of them blushing before the blonde smiled and brought the brunette into a soft kiss, the shorter of the two sighing happily against her girlfriend’s lips.
Bowser lifted Luigi into his arms, supporting his waist and legs – along with the poofy skirts of his original white dress – with Junior jumping onto Luigi as the human cuddled his son tight and Polterpup draping himself across Bowser’s shoulder while the koopa patted the pooch’s head.
Everything was perfect, there were no messed up plans, no interruptions and definitely no King Boo. While his old subjects did have a lot to make up for after what they did to Luigi, they were welcomed into the koopa kingdom with open arms. King Boo, however, was sealed tight into a portrait and locked up in a safe where he could never touch Luigi again.
His ocean blue eyes met Bowser’s fiery red once again, though neither of them said a word, they knew exactly what the other was silently asked for. They would have to go in for photos and the after party soon, but Luigi wanted to relish this moment as much as he could.
So before anything and everything else, the couple’s lips pressed into one more gentle kiss. And finally, all was right.
.
.
.
Thank you so much for reading, I hope you enjoyed this little birthday gift. Have a great rest of your day xx.

Not on this list, but what if bone daddy being clingy? All he wants is attention and hugs, like a fluffy care bear after too much alcohol?
Tumblr media
Oh, baby. I like how you think and how can I say no to that amazing piece of art?!
Writing prompt: "Clingy bone daddy demanding attention" with his Unholiness, Papa Emeritus II.
Someone’s old man is dancing on the bar’s table.
Fuck, that dude is wasted. From your seat, you notice the way his body sway following the rhythm of the music, a bottle of something in one of his hands. The other one is holding a glass, empty as far as you can see.
It’s late, the nightclub is loud and full of people and you want to go back to the hotel. Yes, you understand Secondo needs some time to relax and have fun, something he can’t do when he’s inside the Ministry. Yet… maybe you should put a limit to the never-ending parties and alcohol.
Deep inside, you are aware of how he uses all this distractions as a way to drown the pain he feels, the aching of his heart. Secondo may seem angry and mean, evil even, but he’s just an old, sad man with a tender soul, romantic at the core.
And… he said he’d go to the bathroom like fifteen minutes ago. What if something happened to him? Is he okay? The sudden worry overcomes all the tiredness in your body. Soon, you’re standing up and rushing through the place, passing that wasted guy who’s still dancing on the table.
Wait.
Fuck.
That’s your wasted old man!
“Papa!” You yell. The words come right from your soul, escaping your throat before you realize it. Secondo stops suddenly, body still slightly swaying as he regards you. He’s wearing sunglasses, so it’s hard to pinpoint where he’s exactly looking at, and his green dress shirt has most of the upper buttons opened.
Maybe it’s the raw sound of your voice, or the heavy disappointment in your stare, but he remains silent. He doesn’t complain when you pull him down from the table, or drag him towards the exit. The only time he acknowledges your presence is when your fingers curl around the bottle he’s holding, pulling it away.
“That’s mine,” he says, leaning way too much into your personal space. You struggle not to fall, while putting the bottle away from his grasp. Secondo lets it slide, choosing to plumber face first into your chest.
Great. He is truly drunk.
The taxi ride back to the hotel is equally fun. Secondo is… strangely clingy. His hands are all over you, holding you closer, caressing your body in a tender, almost lovingly pace. His face remains hidden on your neck, cheek squeezed on your shoulder as he mutters and mumbles words you can’t understand.
For long moments, you merely hold onto him too, trying to stop him from falling. The taxi driver stares at both of you from time to time, anxious eyes reflecting on the rear-view mirror. You pray to the Lord, silently, for Secondo to behave and not cause a scene or make a mess in the backseat of this car.
And the Lord listens. Secondo stays mostly still for the ride, barely moving his head from your shoulder to your lap. The position can’t be comfortable, since most of his body is bent in a weird position, but he seems content snuggling closer to you. His fingers curl around your wrist, pulling your hand until he places it over his back.
You pat, once, without fully grasping what he wants. When he growls under his breath and whispers again, you pat twice. Then thrice. Slowly, you get it. He’s demanding attention, practically ordering you to rub his back and hold him closer.
It’s… endearing. It’d be more endearing if he wasn’t almost blackout drunk in the back of a taxi, but still… Secondo is a tough, prideful man. He’s not someone who openly begs for cuddles or some love. No, he suffers in silence, pretending nothing is wrong, drowning the pain in his heart.
“It's okay, big guy,” you mumble too, squeezing him. “I’m here.”
When Secondo says “I love you” before falling asleep, soft snores mixing with the rumble of the car, you feel your heart get caught in your throat.
Oh, fuck. You love this sad, old man too.

Luigi beats Bowser's Ass
So I came up with this scenario in my head while daydreaming, @skulls-soul told me it would be a good idea to share it. Do forgive me for any poor writing I'm not used to describing/ writing fight scenes
TW // violence, Minor descriptions of blood, mention of swords
Bowser is fighting Mario and all out and Bowser is determined not to loose this time. Mario mostly has the fight under control when out of no where He gets hit by Bowser's tail and Smacked into a wall, this knocks him out and causes his head and nose to bleed which sends Luigi into panic mode.
Luigi was getting Peach free from her cage while Mario was battling Bowser. Luigi sent her to go check on Mario so he could go over and fend Bowser off. Bowser ends up knocking a pillar over to try and crush the defensless Mario, unaware Peach had rushed over there to help him out. Thankfully Luigi was quick on his feet and used his powerup to make himself bigger, he then drop kicks the pillar so It would fall a little ways away from them with a thunderous crash, cracking the stone floor Beneath them.
Now Luigi was Pissed. Bowser tried to crush not only Mario but Peach as well, he didn't care he didn't mean to harm Peach, but he still wanted to kill Mario and it would have ended up crushing both of them if he didn't act fast enough.
Luigi turns to Bowser fury in his eyes, the true definition of death stare. Bowser was distracted, still a little taken aback by the fact he almost actually hurt Peach, so he was late to process that the green plumber had just boosted himself towards his head, he had jumped from wall to pillar to any other surface he could use to eventually launch himself at the massive behemoth himself.
He Strikes Bowser right in the nose to disorientate him as he results himself to land on the turtles shoulder to steady himself, grabbing onto both of Bowser's horns like a bull rider. Bowser growls as he tries to get Luigi off of him but is unable to grab ahold of the man, but he was to fast. Luigi leaps off of Bowser's shoulder, horns still gripped firmly in his hands, with enough force to throw the King forwards and body slam him making the floor rumble and stone rattle and crack as dust fell from the ceiling, if it wasn't for the fact he had seen his brother do this so many times before, he would have assumed the floor was about to give way.
Bowser was laying on the floor for a moment before Luigi grabs hold of his tail and swings him around, throwing him into a wall just a he did to his brother, however he ended up going straight through the wall forcing and Luigi follows quickly after him.
Bowser's troops were outside the exterior of the castle so as Luigi is making his way towards Bowser he now had to fight of the guards, which he does with ease at this point. He headbutts, kicks, dodges and punches his way through them, at one point he's surrounded by so many he waits until they are all close together in a tight crowd before he grabs a few of them and uses his Thunder hand, schocking all of them. This doesn't kill them, but it did leave them incapacitated for the time being.
After he deals with them he returns his attention to Bowser who is starting to get back up, albeit winded. Luigi runs up and kicks him in the gut knocking him onto his side, using one of the guards shields laying on the floor to shield himself from the fire Bowser spews out in an effort to stop Luigi and defend himself. The flames licked at the edges of shield, watching as the metal slowly began to glow red from the heat, but it did its job well at protecting the plumber, by some miracle the metal didn't burn Luigi.
Luigi keeps wailing on Bowser to the point he doesn't try to get up anymore, he waits until enough of his strength returns to throw him off. And when he does it just pisses Luigi off more. Luigi grabs a sword from another guard he landed near and charges towards Bowser. He uses his Thunder hand to shock him enough to put him on the ground again.
Luigi climbs on top of him and is screaming at the top of his lungs as he holds the sword high above his head glistening in the shine of the lava around them as he planning on swinging it down on Bowser's head. Bowser has genuine fear plastered across his bloodied face as all he can do is stare and watch as this once very meek plumber was about to kill him. Everyone watches on, the guards that have come back to consciousness can only look on, and Peach looks on in horror from the other room. Was Luigi really about to kill Bowser? No.
Luigi screams again and as he brings the sword down Bowser closes his eyes, waiting for the metal to slice through his scales and flesh. Then he hears the clanging of metal next to his head. He's almost to scared to open his eyes until he just hears Luigi's harsh and heavy breathing. He opens his eyes to see Luigi still stood above him on his chest, but no sword in hand. He was seething, but he was also scared. Luigi got off of Bowser and walked back towards Peach and Mario, still trying to control his own breathing, but before leaving Bowser he said "please don't make me do this again." and then walks off to go help Peach and Mario. Bowser doesn't chase after them, he only watches, his eye's never leaving Luigi as he helped his brother stand up, his right arm swung around Luigi's shoulders while his left was swung around Peach's.
How come he has never seen this side of Luigi before? He can't decide if he wants to fight him again, or not to test the man in fear, what if next time he didn't throw away that sword. He took the blade that was left laying on the ground next to his head in his hand. He almost killed him.

Scopophobia
----------
It was dark out. One in the morning. Mario had left the house earlier in the day to help the princess with something, and he hadn't come back yet. Luigi, worried something might have happened, sat next to his bed in their bedroom, waiting.
Suddenly, the lights would go out, causing the green plumber to jump a little. It caught him off guard. Trying to compose himself, he'd take a deep breath and would let out a shaky exhale. Now getting up off the floor, he'd walk over to his dresser and would open it, grabbing his trusty flashlight. He always kept one nearby in case of emergencies.
Slowly but surely, Luigi eventually made his way to his bedroom door, and opened it. He never liked the dark. Those haunted mansions and that creepy hotel didn't help. In fact, they made his fear worse. Despite that, Luigi courageously made his way through the dark hallways of his home, trying to find his way to the basement so he could find a backup power source.
Upon remembering that the entrance to the basement was in their room, he would then proceed to turn back around to go back to the bedroom. However, he had noticed Polterpup sound asleep on the couch. Giving a faint smile upon seeing his beloved friend, Luigi went over to him and rubbed his head a little. The moonlight was shining through the window that was close to the couch.
Right, the window. The window where two eyes were staring right at Luigi.
...
Luigi would stare back, taking a few seconds to process what he was seeing. After realizing that those were indeed eyes staring at him from the darkness of the outside world, he immediately panicked. Dropping his flashlight, which woke Polterpup, he quickly ran back to the bedroom.
Those eyes, those ghastly white eyes that stared at him through the window. They looked too familiar. Was it a ghost? No, it couldn't be. Could it? There was no body to be seen. Only the pair of eyes.
Soon enough, Luigi found the handle that led to the bedroom, and he immediately rushed inside, leaning against the door as he closed it.
His breathing was fast, heavy. He was alone in the dark, reliving multiple experiences at once.
His flashlight. Where was his flashlight? He dropped it. The darkness seemed to be closing in. It seemed as though it was getting darker and darker.
Suddenly, the front door being opened could be heard faintly. Someone was inside. Terrified, the man in green would scramble and would crawl over back to where he started, on the floor next to his bed. Now, curled up in a ball, shaking intensely with fear.
Where was Mario? He needed him. He can't do this on his own. Not again. He can't.
The door would open.
"...Luigi?"
The voice was familiar. Luigi would quickly lift his head up, and he would see Mario standing at the door, using the flashlight that he dropped.
No words were said. As if it were instinct, Luigi immediately stood up and rushed over to his brother, giving him a tight embrace. No words needed to be said. Mario understood. While Luigi never really talked much about his experiences with the mansions, mostly because they were just too uncomfortable for him to talk about, Mario could tell that they deeply affected his brother. And now, he was seeing the result of that.
"It's okay, I'm here," said Mario gently as he embraced Luigi back. "Nothing's going to hurt you."
Polterpup, wondering about the noise, would peek from behind Mario's legs at Luigi. He had a sad look on his face, as if he was worried about Luigi. Upon seeing Polterpup at the corner of his eye, Luigi would hold onto Mario tighter.
"Don't worry, Polterpup, we're okay. Just leave us alone for a moment alright?" asked Mario as he looked down at the ghostly canine.
With his head down, Polterpup would then turn around and would disappear into the darkness of the house.
"He's gone, Lu, it's okay."
Luigi's grip on Mario would loosen a little.
"Come on."
Mario would let go of his brother, but he would extend his hand out for Luigi to hold. Grabbing his hand, Luigi would shakily follow his brother back to the bed, and they would both sit down. Luigi sat next to Mario, leaning against him and holding his hand tightly.
"What happened?" asked Mario with concern. "Did the power outage scare you?"
"Not just that..." responded Luigi, his voice shaking. "I s-saw something...outside...it was staring at me."
That immediately made Mario go on edge.
"What was it?" he asked.
"J-Just eyes..." said Luigi. "I don't know..."
Mario would let go of Luigi's hand and would wrap his arm around his brother, as Luigi leaned his head against Mario's shoulder.
"I didn't see anything when I was out there," Mario responded, "but I can go check."
Luigi would hug Mario tightly. He didn't want him to leave again. Mario, realizing Luigi didn't want him to go, would wrap his arms around Luigi, comforting him.
"Alright, I won't," confirmed Mario. "I'll stay here. Okay?"
Luigi would nod, which Mario could feel faintly, but Luigi wouldn't move. He didn't want to let his brother go. He was too scared. The older brother would be silent, letting Luigi hug him. He knew he needed it.
"Don't worry, Weegee," said Mario breaking the silence, "I won't let anything hurt you."

I'll Let the Seasons Change My Mind (5/10)
featuring: Mama Mario, Papa Mario, Luigi, Bowser
wordcount: 1361
Tumblr media
It's another normal day in Brooklyn.
The streets are lined with brownstones and bustling with energy, blue skies littered with few clouds, and sun shining proudly above it. As close as one can get to Heaven, now that the Mario brothers have found their calling both here and in another world.
The Mario parents on the other hand, well… While they don't entirely understand the situation and what their sons get up to when they're gone, they're happy to hear of their success, so long as they remember to visit once in a while.
They do understand, however, that a now familiar trembling of the city means someone is on the way.
"I'll get food ready!" Mama calls over her shoulder, hands clapping excitedly as she rushes about the kitchen to put something together. "I wonder if they're bringin' that lovely princess again— Now there's a woman with confidence!"
"There's a cocky woman." Her husband argues from where he's been cruelly interrupted standing watching the TV. "Least she's takin' care of 'em."
"Mannaggia!" Mama scolds, checking out of the window and raising her brows at what she sees— Luigi, happily chatting away to Bowser from where he's perched on the King's shoulder. "It's the lizard…"
Papa huffs his confusion at that, making his way over. "We have plenty of lizards, Maria," One look out the window, though, and he's grabbing a pan to throw at the damned thing's head.
Luigi hears the whistle through the air and raises a hand, catching the handle before the impromptu weapon can meet its target. "Hah, must be cleaning out the place…"
Bowser grumbles, unconvinced. Luigi isn't the best liar. "We should go," He decides, eyeing the manhole they've just emerged from. "They don't want me here."
"Hey," The plumber frowns, tucking the pan under his arm so he can gently turn Bowser's head his way again. "I want you here. And it's only for a while— Promise. Then we can go back."
Turning his attention up to the window, he snickers at the sight of Mama holding Papa's ear, very sternly whisper-shouting at him.
"She might give you a chance, see?" Luigi encourages, ruffling that red fur. Sighing, Bowser raises his gaze to follow where his companion's looking, brows knit together tight. "She's the one that really matters, I wouldn't mind too much about Papa. He's, eh…" Grimacing, he makes a so-so gesture with his hand. Not the worst father, but certainly not the best.
"An ass?"
"Just don't say it to his face and you'll be great! You've got this." He winks, before grabbing holding of the pan's handle and waving up towards the window. "Hey-o!"
"Hey-o!" Mama calls in return, very subtly shoving Papa out of view. "I'll bring the food out to you guys, don't fuss yourselves comin' in!" Good choice, until there's an appropriate entrance for Bowser.
Within minutes, they're all gathered around a table outside, Mama and Papa by each other's side and Luigi contentedly settled on Bowser's lap as he splits the offered food between two plates— Mostly fruits and greens, easy to snack on as they approach springtime.
"So," Papa begins, brow raising as he leans back in his chair. "Y'not destroyin' things anymore, eh?"
"Pa!" Luigi hisses, coupled with a light smack on the arm from Mama. "He's workin' on himself! Can't just be asking that…"
Bowser clears his throat, shifting awkwardly. "Kamek has been giving me therapy."
"You hear that? He's going to—" Pausing, Luigi hums as he looks back to the King, impressed. "That's a big move!" That… could have been made a long time ago.
"It's been offered over the years, I've only accepted recently." Bowser admits, head drooping a touch.
"Better late than never, there's always time to improve." Mama nods sagely as she eats. "Our Lou used to be in therapy!"
"That was counselling, Ma. And it was school counselling, way different." Luigi shrugs, waving a hand as he focuses back on their plates and offers the fuller one to his companion. "They're more focused on gettin' you productive again, really, that's all they care about."
Papa snorts. "Stopped all the phone calls home, so they did their job either way!"
"You didn't want to hear about your son?" Bowser asks, slow and purposeful.
Mama and Luigi share a tense glance, but for now, let whatever's about to happen go ahead. Even grown men need to hear the truth sometimes.
Papa splutters at that. "Of course! But not when it's all bad news—"
"So, you'd prefer not to hear of his struggles, and refuse the chance to help him with them as he's growing?" The King corrects himself, nodding. "I understand."
"Agh, he knows he can come to me if anythin's bad!"
"I don't and I didn't." Luigi retorts, gesturing with an unpeeled banana. "The talk with you was always to put my head down and focus on work— I did that, and you know how hard it is to focus when you've got people screamin' in your ears on both sides because you're every teacher's behaviour buffer, Pa?"
Bowser grimaces at the mere thought of such a punishment for being well-behaved. Human life truly isn't as simple as he thought…
"Ma was good, though, Ma said they don't know any better. She was right, they didn't, and that also took the blame off-a me. I couldn't rely on you for anything other than the roof over my head, Pa— And trust me, I'm grateful for that much, but you know…" Luigi shrugs, peeling his banana.
"It takes more to be a father." Bowser finishes for him, arm instinctively coming around Luigi as he watches Papa get up and excuse himself back inside in a huff.
Letting out a whistle, Mama chuckles to herself. That'll be fun to deal with later… "You seem to know a lot about that," She offers as a new conversation starter. "Being a father, I mean."
Bowser manages a smile for the first time since they've sat down. "I have more than a handful of children— I'm not perfect either, but I do my best."
"I didn't know that." Luigi pipes up, though it clearly hasn't put him off judging by how he's grinning up to Bowser. "I know about Junior, of course."
"Then there's Larry, Morton, Wendy, Iggy, Roy, Lemmy, and Ludwig."
"Now that's a variety!" Mama smirks, leaning over the table. "How you gonna deal with them, Lou?"
"Ma!" Luigi whines, rubbing a hand down his face.
"What? It's a valid question if you're gonna be sharin' a life, huh?"
Bowser's quick to step in for that, clearing his throat. "We haven't discussed that yet…"
"Looks like you should be discussing it now." Mama jokes, sitting back again. "I mean, seems like yous are attached at the hip already— And the only other person I've seen defend him like that is his brother… Wouldn't mind having a good lizard for a son-in-law."
"Turtle, Ma."
"Dragon turtle." Bowser further specifies before glancing down to the man, a fond purr rumbling through his chest. "Whatever he wants, I'll give him."
Looking up to meet his eyes, Luigi can't help a blush spreading across his cheeks. "Only you."
"And you already have me."
It's like there's nothing else in the world, just the two of them and their snacks— Until Mama squeals from across the table, hands clapping. "That's that, then!"
Later on, Bowser decides to drop Luigi off in the Mushroom Kingdom— He'll want to talk to Mario after that, no doubt.
"Thank you for bringing me home." Luigi chirps, even if he's a little unenthused about his feet touching the ground again. He really could get used to just being carried everywhere, safe on Bowser's person.
"Not at all." Bowser hums, gently pressing his snout against his cheek for a moment— A sign of affection, Luigi's learned. "About the kids… You don't have to worry about taking on responsibility with them. Like I said, more than a handful."
"I want to try." He reassures, smiling bright. "If there's anything I learned from how I had to grow up, it's that every kid deserves a chance."

There was an alien attack. They didn't know the name, of the individual who did it or the species. But given what it did, they didn't care.
It was during a barbecue, Carl and Sandra were hosting - it was their family, Frank's side, Max, Verdona, Kevin. Just your typical end of school year barbecue.
It was the early evening when it happened. Carl and Sandra were getting ready for a bonfire, when an alien crashed right into the bonfire. And it started to attack. During the chaos, it had corralled everyone. Ben's watch needed to recharge, as it had to be used earlier to help with some things that had to be moved about. Carl had a picnic table up and was using it as a shield for everyone. The anodites (Verdona and Gwen) weren't going to attack, as it had sent their attacks back at them, which is why Kevin wasn't getting close. Max didn't have any Plumber weapons on him.. the table was cracking and Carl was ignoring everyone trying to get him to stop sp they could all get out
"I'm sorry, but I won't. I won't move. I don't forgive you, mom or dad, for how you treated Frank better than me throughout my childhood, but I accept it.. I accept myself.. and I need you both, Ben, Sandra.. just know that I love you both so much.. and I would do this all over again.."
the table shattered, spraying shards everywhere. Where Carl stood, was a scorch mark on the grass, and levitating just above it, was a dark green four pointed star shaped thing.
"Dad!" Ben rushed to the star, Sandra following. He had to get his dad, regardless of his form, out of more harm's way. He slipped, hitting the grass. And the canon was pointed at him.
"Ben!" Sandra threw herself on top of Ben to protect him, just like her husand had done.
And the canon fired. But it didn't hit them. The blast was concentrated on the star that used to be Carl. It began to heat up as it took in more of the blast.
Before it formed a human shape, who's heels dug into the grass with a shield between them and the blast.
When Sandra and Ben looked, they saw a dark green Anodite that looked familiar. It funneled the blast back at the alien, seemingly causing enough damage to send it flying off. Max made a mental note to have Plumbers on the look out.
"Dad?" Ben asked hesitantly.
The anodite turned and nodded. "Right here, champ."
"Dad!"
"Carl!"
Carl was hugged by his wife and son. "Hey guys."
Sandra smacked him, "don't you dare 'hey guys' me, Carl Francis Tennyson!"
Ben snorted, smiling. "Your name is Francis?" At the glare, he covered himself, "it's a cool name. It fits a hero, like you."
Carl took a breath, and his green form changed to a human one - almost the same as before, his hair was longer now though.
"Glad you think so." He smiled at Ben, before looking to the other party guests. "Everyone okay?"
Everyone was fine, although Verdona wasn't too pleased when Carl shot down her idea of him going to space with her.
"Maybe someday, but not today."
So yeah, Anodite Carl. Fun.

Ah, the tangled web of Ben Tennyson’s romantic escapades! 🌟 Let’s dive into the cosmic drama surrounding Ben, Julie, and Kai. Relationships in the Ben 10 universe are like alien transformations—some work seamlessly, while others leave us scratching our heads.
Ben and Julie: A Love Story… or Not?
Julie Yamamoto, Ben’s ex-girlfriend turned friend, had her fair share of ups and downs with our hero. From soccer games to alien battles, their relationship had its moments. But let’s break it down:
The Meet-Cute: Julie first caught Ben’s eye as a crowd attendant during a soccer game. She congratulated him on his win, and sparks flew. Little did they know that their love story would involve aliens, time-travel, and more plot twists than an intergalactic soap opera.
The UAF Era: In Alien Force and Ultimate Alien, Julie rocked a black bobbed hairdo, sported a pink hoodie, and wielded a tennis racket. But chemistry? Not so much. Ben was a jerk at times, and Julie’s character lacked depth. It felt like a rushed relationship, perhaps thrown in for the sake of having Ben in a romance subplot.
The Breakup: Somewhere between The Ultimate Enemy: Part 2 and The More Things Change: Part 1, Ben accidentally broke up with Julie. Maybe he was too busy fighting bad guys to notice relationship signals. Cartoon Network didn’t exactly shed tears over their split.
Omniverse and Beyond: In Omniverse, Julie got a makeover—longer hair, pigtails, and a white T-shirt. She and Ben agreed to remain friends, which was probably for the best. After all, their chemistry was flatter than a deflated basketball.
Kai: The Other Love Interest
But wait, there’s more! Enter Kai Green, another contender for Ben’s heart. Their relationship had its caveats too:
Kai’s Arrival: Kai, with her rebellious spirit and green streaks, shook things up. She wasn’t your typical love interest. Ben, being Ben, couldn’t resist the intrigue.
The Good, the Bad, and the Time-Travel: Their romance bloomed amidst time-travel shenanigans. Kai was no damsel in distress—she held her own. But their connection felt rushed, like a cosmic speed date.
Omniverse’s Misstep: Pairing Kai with Ben in Omniverse raised eyebrows. Their chemistry? Questionable. It’s like mixing alien DNA without checking the compatibility chart first.
The Verdict
So, what’s the cosmic verdict? Ben and Julie’s breakup was like a reboot—necessary for a fresher storyline. And Kai? Well, she deserved better writing. Maybe Ben should’ve focused on saving the universe instead of saving his love life.
As for fans, opinions vary like alien species. Some ship Ben and Julie, while others think they’re better off as friends. And if you’re curious, Sarcastic Chorus’s videos dissect these relationships like a Plumber’s gadget.
Remember, in the vast Omniverse, love triangles are just one wormhole away. Who knows? Maybe Ben’s true soulmate is an alien from a distant galaxy. 🚀💫
Feel free to explore more cosmic conundrums, and may your adventures be less complicated than Ben’s love life! 😄🌠

Mario movie sequel idea -
Wario and Waluigi, disgraced plumbers who filled Mario and Luigi’s spots at Spike’s business, are incredibly jealous of the fame and wealth that the latter received for saving Brooklyn. After receiving terrible customer reviews for being “rude and unpleasant to work with”, Spike fires them and they are left to their own devices.
Blaming Mario and Luigi for this, they angrily find their way down to the pipe, intending on taking them down - but before they can reach the Mushroom Kingdom, they stumble upon a young woman wearing a muted orange jacket with sunglasses pushed up onto her head caring for a small green creature. She greets them with a friendly hello, introduces herself as Daisy, and introduces the creature as Yoshi, because that’s the noise that it makes. Waluigi immediately falls in love with her, and Wario asks if she knows the Mario brothers. She tells them, of course, because who doesn’t know the Mario brothers? She emphasizes how adorable the green one is, which causes Waluigi to lash out and rush forward, offering her a rose. Daisy rejects the advancement with a laugh, telling him they’ve just met. Waluigi says he can fix that and scoops her up over his shoulder. She hits and struggles but doesn’t succeed. Wario scoops up the Yoshi in his arms, who nips at him. All together, they go through the pipe. They make their way to the now nearly-abandoned Dark Lands, and make themselves comfortable at the empty castle, hatching a plan to destroy the Mario Brothers once and for all while Daisy sits with Yoshi, silently looking for escape.
While they’re sleeping that night, the Yoshi that had once fit in their hands grew to a much bigger size and nudges Daisy awake. Silently, they escape the castle together, and Yoshi tosses her onto his back. They run through the woods but are overwhelmed by the Dry Bones in the ground, which Daisy fends off with her shoe. Much to her dismay, Wario and Waluigi appear again out of the mist. She instructs Yoshi to run, to run to the Mushroom Kingdom and find the Mario brothers and not look back. Reluctantly, he does so as Wario and Waluigi drag Daisy back to the castle, thanking her for telling the creature to bring the brothers right to them.
Early morning, the Mario brothers are having tea with Peach when Yoshi bursts through the door with a trail of Toads behind him. They apologize to the princess, they aren’t sure how the Yoshi got in, they’ll deal with it immediately, but she cuts them off. The Yoshi trots right up to Mario, whimpering, nuzzling his nose into his neck. Mario knows something is wrong. Determined, he asks him to lead the way. Excitedly, Yoshi tosses him onto his back and runs. Peach and Luigi exchange a look and rush after them, using some leftover karts to catch up.
They reach the Dark Lands after a few nights, with battles ensuing in between, with Mario creating a bond with the creature, and Yoshi leads them right to the doors. When they open, they find Waluigi and Wario ready for them, with Daisy in chains beside the crumbled throne. A battle ensues, Wario and Waluigi blame Mario and Luigi for their failures while Peach frees Daisy. Using the power ups they collected along the way, the four of them surround the two beaten men, making them surrender, but they have one last trick up their sleeves. Laughter echoes throughout the empty castle, and a ghost wearing a large crown appears before them. He taunts them, thanking Wario and Waluigi for working with him, and fills the castle with temporary light, showing portraits upon portraits of scared-looking people. He explains that this is his art gallery, and he’s going to add them to it next.
Chaos. Daisy grabs hold of King Boo’s tongue and pulls. Luigi helps her. Wario and Waluigi try to fight off Mario and Peach but are ultimately overtaken. King Boo calls them useless and attempts to throw them into a painting - but Luigi stops him by using the vacuum he’d brought along on accident. King Boo disappears. Wario and Waluigi lay defeated on the floor. Mario offers for them to start anew in the Mushroom Kingdom, where they can make money and become heroes themselves. They hesitantly accept.
Luigi offers Daisy his handkerchief, to which she accepts emphatically and introduces herself, calling him the affectionate nickname “Greenie.” He turns red. Mario and Peach share a grin. Peach offers Daisy a room to stay in at the castle, and when they return, the Toads offer her an honorary crown, too. Daisy insists she isn’t ladylike, but Luigi shyly tells her that that isn’t a bad thing, and princesses can be whatever they want.
Wario and Waluigi occupy a house near Mario and Luigi. They have to be under constant surveillance for their tendency to steal coins from other Toads, and are incredibly annoying, but they find that they quite enjoy playing tennis matches against the Mario brothers. Waluigi still competes for Daisy’s affections with bouquets and things, like notes that say “I’m sorry for kidnapping you. <3”
Meanwhile, somewhere in the Dark Lands, Boo laughter echoes throughout the forest.

The Little Siren Sister (Parody of The Little Mermaid)
here's another of my fairytale paper Mario parodies I wrote long ago on amino, enjoy! (Slight Warning, this following story may probably contain unsettling themes, please read at your own risk)
Once Upon a land of magic and darkness, long live three witches, that's right THREE witches, one of them was named Vivian,
Vivian: hello.
The Second one is a small and old one is Beldam,
Beldam: Greetings- HEY I'M NOT OLD
dude, you look like the other mother from coraline, except, she is Taller, but she have a long nose but not that long.
Beldam: *grumbles*
And finally, the third one is the Wario wannabe, Marilyn.
Marilyn: ....who's Wario?
Anyways, Vivian, who used to be like her sisters but now had a different sight, one day, Vivian went out of her world to spy on a man, a plum shaped plumber named Mario, who was hanging out with his brother, a thinny green plumber named Luigi.
Mario: HEY I HEARD THAT!!! AND I'M NOT FAT I'M JUST BIG BONE!!!!!
Luigi: *snickers*
Mario: I HEARD THAT!!!!!!!!
hehe, so mario, luigi and their friends, are having a party on....A CRUISE SHIP! there was music pumping, feasts of food being eaten, jacuzzi's bubbling and all the ladies.
Koopa: LADIES *swoops in between the girls and speaks in a handsome voice*  heya, you ladies, wanna have a drink?
Ladies: *slaps Koopa*
I feel bad for Koopa... not! haha!
Vivian: *gazes at the cruise ship* man, I wish I can go to the cruise ship, but my sister refuse to let me *sighs*
but as she was about to have a dream sequence, a horrid storm swallowed the sea in darkness, the boat was waving back and forth as the waves started to rock around.
Olivia: AAAAHHHHHHH
Luigi: EVERYONE HANG ON!!!
Goomba: ugh, why did even have to eat the egg salad with mayonaise? *pukes on the ocean*
Mario: MAMA MIA!
Peach: *gasp* MARIO!
Luigi: Brother! hang on!!!!
Mario: *slips and fells off the boat*
Vivian: *gasps* oh no!
So Vivian rushed out to save the fat plumber who is struggling to swim due to the fatness-
Mario: HEY! I'M NOT FA- *sinking*
Vivian: *gasps* Mario! *dives in*
Vivian kept swimming and swimming deep until finally...she saved him.. and reached for the beach.
Vivian: *lays him on the sand* ...is he ok?
*shrugs*
Vivian: ...wow, it's him, it's actually him, I can't believe it.
Mario: .........
Vivian: hmm.
I wonder if the man has any coins in his pockets.
Vivian: what?
you never know, I mean he might be a millionare.
Mario: *coughs*
Vivian: he's awake.
Mario: *wakes up* ?
Vivian: .....hi
Luigi and peach: Mario!
Vivian: uh crud *retreats back*\
Luigi: brother, are you ok?
Mario: yeah, I think so.
AH DANG IT!!! you guys just ruined the moment!
Mario: what moment?
nevermind, so Vivian went back to her world with the siren sisters.
Beldam: *looking at the mirror* hmmm
Marilyn: you been looking at that mirror for hours.
Beldam: Marilyn, I don't look...old, am I?
Marilyn: ...uh...well?
Vivian: *comes in* hey guys-
Beldam: VIVIAN! WHERE WERE YOU I'VE BEEN CALLING YOU ON YOUR PHONE EVERY SINCE!!
Vivian: .wait..we have cell phones?
Beldam: well, yeah didn't you know?
Marilyn: we have these weird cell phones appeared unexpectedly in our pockets
Vivian: we don't have cell phones.
Beldam: doesn't matter, I got a question.
Vivian: what is it?
Beldam: ...........Am I Old?
VIvian: um.....
tell the truth Vivian, you know it's obvious.
Beldam: well?
Vivian: uh....
Marilyn: *doing sign language saying, no don't say it, it'll end bad*
Vivian: uh...yes?
Marilyn: *facepalms*
*makes some cricket noises*
Beldam: ....*instant crying* AAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
geez did that really hit ya?
Beldam: OH THE HUMANITY!!!!! I'M GROWING OLD!!
Vivian: uh, Beldam, do you think it's ok if I can-
Beldam: NO! NO WAY ARE YOU GOING TO THE HUMAN WORLD!!
Vivian: but they aren't that bad.
Beldam: I was gonna let you go but you insulted me!
by saying you're old?
Beldam: MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS NARRATOR LADY!!!
uh, this is my business, I'm the narrator!
Beldam: WHAT EVER, VIVIAN I FORBID YOU FROM GOING WITH MARIO!
what the heck, she just met him
Beldam: DON'T CARE, NOW IF YOU EXCUSE ME, I'LL BE IN MY ROOM CRYING THROUGH MY LIFE!
because you're old?
Beldam: Oh be *back crack* AH my back!
HA see you are getting old!
Beldam: *growls and goes to her room*
Marilyn: *sighs* sorry Vi. *goes to her room*
Vivian: *sighs and leaves* aw man, I really wanna see that plumber again, but how? I would do anything for a miracle! Anything!
but just then, as she said that, some thunder and light started to spazz around, either the weather man reported a thunder storm on a wednesdays or...it's the calling, the eerie sinister calling of-
Dimentio: ME!!!!!!!
Dooplis: *also here* and me, AH WHY DO I HAVE TO BE AN EEL! CAN'T I JUST BE LIKE A PARTNER OR SOMETHING?!
you are the partner, it's just that the partner's the eel.
Dooplis: wha? I don't understand the point of thi-
MOVING ON!
Dimentio: did I heard you say, you want to visit the world of the hero Mario?
Vivian: uh...yeah? do you know how?
Dimentio: well of course I do, I am Dimentio, the master of magic, master of solutions and master of DISTRUC- *que disk scratch* uh, I mean Dreams, Come with me! *uses teleport magic to le teleporte outta here*
And so they arrived! at their lair, of brilliance and excellent magic!
*The place looks like it was trashed*
Dooplis: welcome to our humble lair
Vivian: huh looks like this place has been bankrupt.
well... I had to pay the bail for the origami twins.
Vivian: what?
yeah, you see Olly was littering confetti to make a trail home, epic fail. so now, we don't have any coins left to afford an epic n cool sea witch lair.
Vivian: oh, wait, I heard Bowser's in jail.
oh yeah, uh..it's a long story, *ahem* moving on!
Dimentio: So, you want to see Mario yes?
Vivian: uh, yeah?
Dimentio: well fear not, for I have just the thing! *goes to an old chest thing and founds the ingreadients, he then goes to an old cooking pot*
So Dimentio get the ingredients ready, turned on the cook pot and place the ingredients in, the flames hissed as the water plops out of the pot, gushing out like a knock off version of a volcano. Thunder Parks on the very room! *makes thunder noises*
Vivian: seriously?
I couldn't afford sound effects.
Dimentio: *finishes the spell* and done, it is finished!
Vivian: perfect!
Dimentio: but you need to give me something in return.
Vivian: and that is...
Dimentio: your voice.
Vivian: my voice? how am I suppose to talk to mario with no voice?
Dooplis: Come on kid, you have your looks the pretty....uh...mouth? sorry I literally can't tell if your hat burried in your eyes.
Vivian: it's fine.
Dimentio: alright enough talk, let's get this scene over with. *pulls out his cell phone* Ok kid, all you have to do is sing while I record your voice.
Vivian: .....I was hoping some sort of magic stuff like in that one movie.
Dimentio: yeah but we really don't have the budget for the magic effects neither the music stuff so we have to deal with that for now.
Vivian: I don't know about this
Dooplis: Ugh just hurry up and sing already!!!
Yeah! I got a cute cookie run fanfiction to read!!!
Vivian: *sighs* fine, but what should I sing?
DImentio: I don't know any song!
Sing My Lullaby from Lion King 2!
Dimentio, Dooplis and Vivian: NO!
Aw :(
Dooplis: just sing random notes
Vivian: ok...*sings a song*
Dimentio: *records*
Dooplis: *checking youtube*
Dimentio: and done!
Vivian: oh cool, hold on, aren't I not suppose to talk?
Dimentio: uh, hello budget problems! but fear not, we shall do a bet, if you can go through a day without a single word....I will let you go on free with mario along with that paper mario origami king game, you were on about.
Vivian: SWEET!
Dimentio: but If you talk or sing....you'll belong to me...FOREVER!!! and 100 bucks.
Vivian: Deal!
So after the bet was sealed Vivian took the spell that was cast by Dimentio, I wish there's gonna be some anime transformation scene going on but, there's budget soo let's just skip that where she have became a human and went to the mushroom kingdom.
Vivian: .... *sees Mario*
Mario: ? *sees Vivian* Oh hello there, what's your name?
Vivian: *was about to speak but then realized she can't speak because of the bet, so she have to write her name on the ground*
Mario: oh, Vivian, nice to meet you Vivian.
Vivian: *smiles*
Mario: so wanna hang out?
Vivian: *nods*
the two hold hands and walked off to the kingdom town.
*Meanwhile*
Marilyn: ugh will come out of there Beldam, you've been locked in there for hours, I really need to use the toilet.
Beldam: SILENCE!
Marilyn: dude it's age you can't stop age from going forward! *sighs*
Beldam: *comes out wearing makeup*
AH GEEZ!
Dimentio and Dooplis: hey guys- *sees Beldam and started to scream*
Beldam: >:(
Marilyn: what are you guys doing here anyway?
Dimentio: oh we're here to tell you......that there's a sweet new update on cookie run kingdom!
Marilyn; wow, really?!
Beldam: that's amazing!!
Dimentio: yeah..Oh and Vivian went off to the mushroom kingdom, after I gave her the human spell.

Marylin: uh what about the mario part?
Beldam: eh Mario is no big deal I got my life he's got his, NOW LET'S GOT FIND VIVIAN!!!!!!!!!! after a game of cookie run kingdom

Vivian: >w<
Mario; Vivian, listen I know it's been very long time, but I wanna ask you something....*pulls out a friendship ring* will you be my bff forever?

In the woods, Daisy is getting ready to splint Toad's leg. "I'm gonna try and splint this." "No, I can do it.." Toad assured her. "Uh, Blue needs - what was that thing called... oh yeah! C-spine stabilization!" "Uh, who's Blue?" Daisy says while looking for supplies to do the stabilization. "The... The pilot," Toad told the princess. "How are you doing there, Blue? "Uh, fine." Blue Shell replied. "I give us four hours tops before they find us. There's a transmitter in the plane that lets out a squawk that should lead 'em right to us."
Daisy nodded to Blue Shell before going back to finding supplies. "Did you find Princess Peach?" Toad asked Daisy. "Uh, not yet," Daisy replied. "Uh, 'Blue', uh, do you, uh, have any tape?" "Uh, yeah. In the bulkhead." Blue Shell answered. "In the cabinet to your left. There's a flare gun in there, too. You hear a chopper, you fire it straight up." "Yes, thank you." "And, Luigi?" Toad says with a little hope in his voice. "Did you find Luigi?" "Not good." Daisy sighed. "Is there a first aid kit?" "A … yeah, a big one," Blue Shell tells the princess.
"In the cabinet on your right, behind the cockpit." Daisy looks throughout the cockpit to see there is no cabinet. The princess groans and tears start to fill her eyes. "There's no cabinet there!" Toad looked up to the sky and a small tear fell from his eye. "Just.-" Toad winces before continuing. "Just tell Lu to hang on for another four hours." Daisy rolled her eyes at that statement. Only if the little guy only knew how bad Luigi's future is actually looking....
"Great." Daisy sighed. She starts to leave with the water in her uninjured arm. But, Blue Shell stops her. "Hey, hey, wait. Don't leave! I-I can't feel my legs. That's because I'm trapped, right? I mean, I'm gonna be okay, right? I'm not paralyzed. I'm gonna walk again. I'm gonna be okay, right?" The princess then grabs a pen and sticks it in his leg but he doesn't feel it. "I'm sorry." She says, blankly.
At that moment, Mario comes rushing over. "Daisy, I can't find Peach. I looked everywhere. I can't find her." "Maybe she's fine, Mar," Daisy tells him. "Maybe she went for help." "Maybe, but I gotta … I gotta keep looking!" Mario says as tears fill his eyes. "Mario," Daisy begins to say. "I.. I have to keep looking, she has to be out there..." "Mario!" Daisy snaps at the red-hatted plumber. Her yelling snapped him out of his spiral. "Mario, you should-" Daisy puts her hand on Mario's shoulder. "You should come help, Lu.."
+++++++
Meanwhile, at the back of the plane, Bowser's laying next to Luigi. "You're doing great, Luigi." Bowser praises the green-hatted plumber. Luigi looks up at the king with tears in his beautiful blue eyes. "Bowser...." "Hey, Princess is coming back any second. She's gonna be back, and we're gonna get you stabilized, and you're gonna be fine, okay?" "Bowser, I..." Luigi's voice is getting weaker by the second. "I'm dying." "What?" Bowser says confused. "No, you're not. I told you, stop the dying crap." Luigi rolls his eyes. "I am. Please … tell … Tell Mario that I love him, so much.. and that he was a great, amazing brother. Mm... Please t-tell my mom and dad..." Bowser starts to lose his patience with Luigi. "You're not dying. You're gonna be fine." "Hold my hand." Luigi tells him in a soft, weak voice.
"I'm not holding your hand because you're not dying. You don't die today." Bowser gets up, and once again tries to lift the piece of the plane that's crushing him, without success. His eyes welling with tears, He lies down again and takes his hand. "I love you." Luigi shakes his head in disbelief. "You don't have to say it because I said it." "I do." Bowser reassures Luigi. "I love you. I've always been in love with you. I will always be in love with you."
Luigi's eyes light up a little. "You... You do?" "Yeah. Which is why you have to stay alive. We … we … we're gonna get married in a big royal wedding, no one being sacrificed or anything. And you're gonna make an amazing king and we're gonna live out our days with Junior and all of the koopalings." "All of them?" "Yeah. We're gonna be happy, Luie … You and me. We're gonna have the best life, Luigi, you and me. We're gonna be so happy. So you can't die, okay? You can't die, because we're supposed to end up together. We're meant to be." Luigi smiles at Bowser. "Meant to be..." That's the last thing Luigi says before all emotion leaves his blue eyes and his chest stops rising and falling. He's gone.
Then, Bowser breaks. After everything with Peach and losing Kamek, this was his breaking point. The King of the Koopas breaks down into sobs while still holding Luigi's hand. "I love you, I love you," He repeats to an unresponsive Luigi.
A few minutes later, Mario and Daisy arrive to see Bowser sobbing over Luigi. "No.." Daisy's voice is above a whisper. Tears started falling from her eyes. "He's, he's gone."
And that's when Mario's world came falling down.

There you have it! Part 4 is done! It got really heavy at the end, didn't it? This will be posted on AO3 within the hour. Part 5 should be up tomorrow or so. I hope you enjoyed. Sorry if you cried. :/

Unconditional Love (Chapter 10)

A/N: Thank you everyone for the likes. I really appreciate it! :) Hope all of you enjoy this chapter.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter 10
The kart Y/N rode in continued its drive to get away from Bowser. The ground was shaking beneath the car tires. Y/N gripped onto the bar placed in front of her and the Kong driving steadied his grip on the wheel and gas pedal. It felt as though an earthquake was following them. Y/N knew the earthquake came from Bowser who was fast approaching them.
Y/N felt awful, and she really wanted to jump out of the kart. However, that would mean seriously injuring herself in the process. She didn’t want to do something stupid to get herself hurt. She sighed sadly and angerly. Why didn’t Mario listen to her? She knew everyone was just looking out for her, but still. She knew the history between Mario, Bowser, and the others wasn’t the best, but people can change if they really want to.
She could see that Bowser was trying to change. It can take time for change to come about, but why not give that person a chance to do it? She glanced behind her to see that the other karts were catching up with them. The ground was not quaking as heavily. Looking further back, she could see that Bowser had slowed down his pace. Still trying to catch up with all of them, but not coming as fast.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“It’s about time he slowed his pace down,” Donkey commented.
“No kidding,” Toad agreed.
Luigi, who had also been in the same kart as them, sat in silence. He felt that they were being too rash with rushing into this. The look in Y/N’s eyes when she spoke seemed real and genuine, not that of someone who didn’t have control over their thoughts and words. Her eyes were showing raw emotion. He couldn’t help feeling down.
“Hey, you alright there?” Toad asked the plumber in green.
“Huh?” Luigi looked at Toad. “Oh uh…Yeah.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, I’m fine.” Luigi didn’t feel like voicing his thoughts out to the others. He figured it would be best to keep them to himself for now.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mario and Peach had not talked after she questioned him about not trusting Y/N. Both were occupied in their own head space. The plumber in red couldn’t fathom the idea of someone like Bowser changing his approach to people. It all seemed to happen so fast. He knew he wasn’t there to witness it, but it all seemed too good to be true. How could someone do a 180 so quickly?
He knew he had hurt Y/N and he felt bad about that, but part of him was still not entirely convinced of the change with the Koopa King. He didn’t want to hurt Y/N anymore than he already had. He knew, as he told the princess, they would have to have Y/N tell her story again. He knew he needed to give her the benefit of the doubt.
Peach felt saddened. She could see how much Y/N cared for the Koopa King. It was surprising and yet, it was nice. She herself would never want to be with him as she didn’t have that attraction to him. However, she was happy to see that Bowser seemed to be taking an interest in someone else for a change. She still thought Bowser to be crazy but hearing him be soft around Y/N was sweet.
She turned around behind her to see that Bowser was no longer moving toward them. He looked tired out, but not ready to give up yet.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Koopa King could see the karts getting further and further away from him. He already felt exhausted from running. The adrenaline he felt when storming out of the castle was already wearing off. He huffed and puffed to catch his breath. He didn’t want to quit yet. He wouldn’t. He wanted Y/N beside him again. He would get her back no matter what it took to do so.
Bowser had indeed grown large, and his height had changed. His body was coated in black, making his hair look even more fiery red than it usually is. The fire that encircled his fists was diminishing, but still lit. The fire from his mouth had turned into smoke as it too was calming down in the amount of heat. The spikes on his shell had protruded further out than before as well.
He let himself fall to his knees as he continued catching his breath. Before he could try to get himself back up, a red orb appeared beside him. Inside it was his wizard.
“Sire,” Kamek spoke sadly.
“Kamek,” Bowser huffed out.
The MagiKoopa looked on as he watched his king trying to breathe normally again. “We should head back to the castle. We can try to get Y/N back-“
“I’m not quitting now! I may be tired, but I’m not losing her! I can’t!” Bowser’s eyes widened at the very idea Kamek suggested.
“But your highness, I think it would be best to have some reinforcements. You need to gather more of your strength.”
The king growled, smoke seeping out of his mouth and nostrils, “I can’t leave her with them! She wanted to spend more time with me! Plus, I promised we would get her home.”
“I understand, but your majesty-“
“But nothing! I am going to the Mushroom Kingdom and getting Y/N back! You want to send in reinforcements, that’s fine by me. I am not quitting here though.”
The wizard sighed, “I will have reinforcements ready and waiting for you at the Mushroom Kingdom.” He didn’t want to see Bowser exert more energy and strength. He was afraid the king may hurt himself. He had never seen Bowser’s fury grow to such an extreme. He saw Bowser as a son since he had been with him on the day of his birth. He didn’t want to see the king hurt physically either. Too much emotional pain had been inflicted on him and he didn’t need the pain to be physical as well.
Bowser slowly got up to his feet and roared, “I’m coming Y/N!” He started his pace out slowly, taking time to work up at a faster speed.
Kamek watched as his king left his side. He quickly cast a spell to call up on some of the other troops and Goombas to make way toward the Mushroom Kingdom. They understood the order and prepared to head out. Kamek would cast a transportation spell to get everyone over there quickly. He too would plan on helping them out.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All the karts had eventually reached the Mushroom Kingdom. Peach’s kart had been driven up to the front of the others to lead the way into the kingdom. There was a passage that the princess had built that was specially designed for vehicles. Everyone followed her into the entrance, which was massive. They all parked the karts, and got out of them.
“Okay everyone. Follow me this way,” Peach directed as another door opened. It was a large silver door that a few guards pushed open. The door was heavy.
The Kongs, plumbers, Toad, and Y/N followed the princess down a long corridor to go into a meeting room. Y/N had remembered the meeting room from before. She looked up at all the glass windows that brought in the sunlight and sighed. Chairs of pink suddenly appeared from the floor, startling everyone.
“Now, all of you can take a seat anywhere. Y/N, please come up here,” Peach directed. “Mario, Luigi, and Toad, come up here too.”
Y/N looked at the princess and followed to stand where Peach was at. It involved climbing up a few stairs. Everyone else followed suit.
“We don’t have a lot of time right now. We know Bowser and his troops will be here soon. Y/N, please tell them what you said before,” Peach instructed.
“Before you do,” Mario said before Y/N could talk, “I’m sorry for hurting your feelings.”
Y/N stared into Mario’s blue eyes, “It’s fine.”
“No, it isn’t. I’m really sorry. I want to hear you out. I know what it’s like for others to doubt you. I’ve been through it before, and I should’ve given you a chance.”
“Thanks. I appreciate it,” Y/N spoke with a smile. She hoped Mario was slowly coming to an understanding now. “So, here’s what happened…”
Y/N did her best to explain everything exactly how she did with Peach. Given that they were all on a time crunch with Bowser and his army coming, she had to give the short version. She really hoped that the fighting wouldn’t turn into too much chaos.
“Wait so…does Bowser have…feelings for you Y/N?” Toad asked.
“Uh, y-yes. I think so…”
“What about you?”
Y/N nearly choked on her air, “M-Me?!”
“Yeah, don’t you feel the same?”
“I uh…” She blushed profusely. “I mean…” It was very hard to explain. Did she feel the same way? Over course she did! She just didn’t want to rush things either. Anytime someone asked her about the heart, she always got shy and unsure of herself. Deep down, she knew she was beginning to develop feelings for him, if she already hadn’t done so.
“It’s okay if you do Y/N,” Luigi spoke up. “I can see how much you care for him.” He decided that now was a good time to voice his thoughts. “You’ve expressed raw emotion.”
Y/N looked at the plumber in green, “Thanks Luigi.”
Before anyone could say anything else, the castle shook violently. All of them had to steady themselves to not fall. The Kongs who were sitting in their chairs gripped onto them tightly.
“They’re here! Everyone, please follow me this way and I’ll discuss details along the way,” the princess ordered.
All the Kongs got up from their chairs and followed the princess into another part of the castle that Y/N didn’t remember seeing before. Another long corridor greeted them as they all ran through. Peach was explaining for the Kongs, Mario, and Luigi to be lined up outside of the castle. She also would have some of her guards lined up outside. Once she directed everyone else where to go, she had Y/N follow her to the back of the castle.
“Just how big is this castle?” Y/N questioned.
“Bigger than it looks,” Peach answered. “I need you to stay back here.”
“Why? We all know Bowser wants to come for me. Shouldn’t I just go to the front with everyone else?”
“Considering his heated temper, I think it would be best for you to stay back here for now. We don’t want you to get hurt.”
“I don’t think he would hurt me.”
“Not intentionally, but he still has a hot temper. When he and I had ended up in your world before, he was taunting Mario until I kicked him in the face. Donkey and Toad joined me, and do you know what happened next? He shoved all of us, including me, away from him. Harshly might I add.”
“I see…”
“I just don’t want him to hurt you in the same way somehow. This time, it would be worse than it was with me.”
Y/N sighed. “Okay.”
“I’ll come get you when it’s a good time for you to come out to the front.”
Y/N nodded and then Peach went back inside. Y/N had been taken to what appeared to be a garden. The flowers were vibrant in their pastel colors. She smiled as she gazed at the flowers around her. At least it was serene back here. She decided to take a short walk to try and help ease her mind. She didn’t see any flowers like these in her world. The shapes were like what she had seen back home, but also very different. As she continued her walk, the ground shook once more.
She lost her balance and fell. She winced at the pain from the concrete beneath her and looked up at the sky. It was turning into an ominous color. Thunder clouds were rolling in and rain began to fall. Lightning streaked across the sky. She gasped from the thunder that followed the lightning. She wasn’t deathly afraid of thunder, but the sound wasn’t the most pleasant for her either.
She went to seek out shelter and saw an awning not too far from where she was at. Though it didn’t provide complete protection, it was better than nothing. She knew Peach wouldn’t want her to go back inside of the castle in case serious damage occurred. She focused on her breathing to calm her nerves of the thunder. There were more flowers by her, and she focused on the details of them.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Koopas! Goombas! Make way to the castle!” Kamek cried out. He had flown to the kingdom on his broom and was helping to lead everyone toward the castle.
Bowser wasn’t too far behind them. He didn’t seem to be struggling as much, but he wasn’t completely energized either. “Y/N! I’m here!”
The wizard turned around to look at Bowser. He could see the fury in his king’s eyes had grown immensely.
“All of you, keep going to the castle. If you see any of them, do not fight them just yet,” Kamek said.
Everyone understood and would wait for further instructions.
Kamek flew back to where Bowser was at, “Sire.”
Bowser looked at his wizard, “Kamek, you’re here.”
“Of course, I am. I am always there for you. Am I not?”
“Yes.” Bowser winced in pain.
“Sire, are you alright?”
He grimaced, “I’m fine. I must get Y/N back.”
“May I suggest that you go around the kingdom and not through it? Given your large stature, I don’t think the princess would be too pleased to see her kingdom be crushed.”
Bowser growled in annoyance, “Yeah, yeah.” He knew Kamek was right. He didn’t want to cause more uproar. “Go meet up with the others.”
“Right away Sire. Please be careful.”
The king nodded and watched his wizard fly off. He worked on walking around the kingdom, ‘This will take too long.’ He decided to make a leap over the kingdom. With the size he was, he should just be able to miss crushing the kingdom. He jumped into the air.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Koopas and Goombas stopped in their tracks upon seeing the plumbers, Kongs, Toad, and the other mushroom guards lined up at the entrance of the castle.
“We will not engage in a fight yet,” one of the Koopas spoke up.
“Fat chance,” Donkey said. “Let’s get them-“
“Wait!” Peach shouted. She had made her way back to them by running, panting to catch her breath. “Not yet.”
“We are to wait until Kamek or our king says otherwise,” another Koopa said.
The sky above everyone lit up from the lightning strikes and echoed with thunder.
“What the?!” One of the princess’s guards looked up to see an enormous shadow leaping over them.
Everyone followed the gaze of the guard and looked up in awe. The shadow had large, clawed feet and a spiky shell.
“Sire!” Kamek called out.
The shadow looked down briefly to see everyone looking up at him. Bowser had jumped up just high enough and was beginning to fall back to the ground. He could see a garden on the other side of the castle and landed a few yards away from it. He sighed relieved that he didn’t crush anyone or anything.
“Everyone! To the back of the castle!” Peach shouted.
All of them had followed the princess including the Koopas, Goombas, and Kamek.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Y/N, who had been focused on the flowers, was startled to see a large shadow sail above her. She followed the shadow with her gaze and saw it land a few yards away from her.
‘Bowser?’ she thought. The spiky shell and clawed feet were very recognizable. “Bowser!”
The shadow, Bowser, could hear a faint voice in the distance. He recognized the voice to be Y/N. “Y/N!” He began running to where she was. He could just make out her figure as he drew closer. The ground shook beneath him.
Y/N had run up to try and meet up with him about halfway. She couldn’t get far due to a fence blocking her. She gripped onto the bars of the fence, trying to keep her balance since the ground was shaking violently. The rain was pelting down harder now, drenching her hair and clothes in the process.
“Y/N! Get away from the fence!” Peach shouted.
She and everyone else, minus Kamek, were all trying to keep their balance and not fall from the earthquake created by Bowser.
Y/N turned to look at all of them, keeping a hold on the fence. The ground calmed in quaking as Bowser slowed down to stop at the fence of the garden. He peered down at everyone and looked at Y/N. His eye softened.
Y/N looked up at him, the fire that had once encircled his fists disappeared and smoke was no longer seeping from his nostrils and mouth. She smiled at him.
“I’m okay. Please, there’s no need to fight,” Y/N spoke. “I’ve explained everything to the princess and the others. They all understand.”
The rain had soon drenched everyone else. The sky above boomed from the thunder and Y/N gasped.
Bowser looked down at her in concern, “Are you alright?”
“Y-Yes. I’m fine. Thunder scares me a bit is all.”
Everyone watched the exchange go on in silence. Some were surprised, but some were relieved. Luigi, happy to see this moment be done in a calm matter, smiled. Mario was still a little perplexed but was glad to see that Bowser was not acting violently. Toad was satisfied that everything seemed to be okay. Peach had been holding in a breath and had released it upon seeing that Bowser was calmed down.
“I can’t believe what I’m seeing right now,” Donkey said, shocked.
“Me neither. However, matters of the heart are complicated but can be eased with time and care,” Cranky said.
“Uh, Dad…you just totally sounded not like yourself.”
“Hey! I’ve been around the block a few times. I know what I’m talking about.”
“Okay…sure…”
The Kong King sighed, “Son, you’ll understand when you meet someone who captures your heart.”
Kamek, still sitting on his broom, flew over to where Bowser and Y/N were at. “Um Sire?”
Bowser looked at Kamek, “Yes?”
“Shall the troops be called off?”
“Yes, send all of them back to the castle.”
“Right away your majesty.” Kamek cast a spell that sent all the Koopas and Goombas back to Bowser’s castle. “The size you are now Sire, I do not have a spell to cast you back to normal I’m afraid.”
“What? You mean I’m this size forever?”
“Well…I don’t think forever, but I think it will take time for this wear off. Your fury got out of control causing you to transform into this size.”
“Hmm…I see…I just need to relax and then I should eventually get back to normal size then, right?”
“Yes, I believe that will work out.”
“Okay.”
Kamek flew off to the side and Peach had the others remaining go back inside her castle to give Bowser and Y/N some space. Kamek had landed on the ground on the side Bowser was on and smiled. He was happy to see Bowser relaxed.
“Y/N,” Bowser spoke to the human.
“Yes?” She asked gazing up at him.
“Uh…would you allow me to carry you back to my castle? That is, if you want to spend more time together before going home.”
“Sure, but before that, I want to say goodbye to the others and have them apologize to you.”
“R-Really?”
“Yes. We did try to tell them everything was fine, but still it all backfired.”
He chuckled, “Good point.”
“I’ll go get them now.”
Bowser watched as Y/N ran back inside the castle. ‘She really is something. She is so considerate.’
Y/N had managed to just catch up to the crowd of Kongs and everyone else, “Hey!”
“Y/N? You’re already done talking with Bowser?” Luigi asked.
“Not yet, but I want all of you to go out there and apologize to him.”
“What?!” Donkey exclaimed. “No way!”
“Son,” Cranky said in a discipling tone of voice, “she is right. Let’s go apologize.”
Donkey sighed, “Dad, you really aren’t acting like yourself at all. Who are you and where is my dad?”
“I told you before. I’ve been around the block a few times. We all acted rashly. C’mon.”
All the Kongs followed their king and Donkey, begrudgingly, followed him. Everyone made it back outside and one by one, they all apologized.
“I’m sorry, but I’m happy that everything is better now,” Luigi said and walked off to the side.
“I’m uh…I’m sorry…I’m sorry for not believing you earlier Bowser,” Mario said and went to stand by his brother.
“I’m sorry for the mess we caused,” Cranky said and walked away.
“I’m sorry too,” Donkey said quietly, but loud enough for Bowser to still hear him. He went to stand by his dad.
“I’m sorry for not believing you two at first,” Peach said.
“I’m sorry as well,” Toad said. He and Peach went to stand with Mario and Luigi.
“Well, that’s everyone,” Y/N said to Bowser.
Bowser nodded. He hoped it really wouldn’t take forever for him to be back to normal size.
“I’m going with Bowser back to his place. Before I do though,” Y/N started, “thank you all for caring about me. I do appreciate it a lot. I would love to come back here to visit if that’s okay.”
“Of course, it’s okay,” Peach said. “You’re welcome here any time.”
“Would love for you to try my cooking sometime Y/N,” Toad said.
“That sounds great!” Y/N said.
“Uh, when are you coming back to our world?” Mario asked.
“Soon. I hope we can still be friends as well?”
“Yep! We can!” Luigi exclaimed.
“That would be nice,” Mario said.
“Wonderful!” Y/N said. “I’m glad to have everything end on a happy note. I’ll see you all later! Take care!”
“Goodbye!” Everyone said at the same time.
Bowser knelt his hand for Y/N to climb up onto. She gripped around his thumb as he brought his hand back up. He began walking off, Kamek following beside him on his broom.
Peach watched them leave and smiled, “I’m glad we didn’t have to get into a war.”
“Me too,” Toad agreed.
“That would not have been fun,” Luigi said.
“Nope. It wouldn’t have been fun at all,” Mario said.
“Well, we can all have dinner. I’ll have my chefs prepare for everyone,” Peach said. “Would the Kongs like to stay for dinner?” She turned to ask the king.
“We would be honored to stay for dinner. Isn’t that, right?” Kranky turned to his Kongs, and they all cheered.
“Yeah, I could use a bite to eat,” Donkey said.
Everyone then headed back into the castle. Peach led all of them to the dining room and helped all her servants set up the table. Soon, everyone was seated and waiting for food and drinks to arrive.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I never thought I would get to have an experience like this,” Y/N said.
“Being carried away by a giant monster?” Bowser asked.
“Hey! You’re not a monster. Sure, your temper got the best of you, but you’re not a monster. Yeah, it’s something you would only read about in a book. A girl gets whisked away into an unfamiliar world. She meets creatures of fantasy and learns of other fantastical places that exist beyond her world.”
“Hmm. That does sound like a novel.”
She giggled, “It does. Honestly, when first coming to the Mushroom Kingdom, I felt that this place was like a children’s book.”
He smiled at her, “That sounds nice. Are you sure you’re okay with coming back with me?”
“Why wouldn’t I be? I said I wanted to, and I still want to see all of your castle. Although, considering our current predicament…” She wondered when he would return to normal size.
He sighed, “Yeah…I don’t know either on when I will return to normal size. I hope soon.”
“I hope so…um…Bowser…”
“Yes?”
“I uh…” Did she want to say her feelings now? No, she should wait. Again, she didn’t want to rush this. Her feelings were growing more and more by the minute. “I’m glad we met.”
“Me too.”
“It wasn’t the best way to start things out, but I’m glad to see a softer side of you.”
“I’m glad you’re still fine with seeing me.”
“I am. I really am.” She was very happy to be beside him again. She looked forward to their time together.
“I wonder something,” he said interrupting her thoughts.
“What’s that?”
“I wonder if…if you would like to travel with me to the other places talked about in my library.”
“That would be amazing! I’ve wanted to do more traveling, but never have had the time or money to do so in my world. Thank you!” She gave his thumb a gentle kiss.
He got a little flustered, but smiled and relaxed, having enjoyed the small show of affection from her.
“Sire…” Kamek who had been quietly flying beside them during the conversation spoke up. “We need to think about accommodations for you.”
The castle of the Koopa King was in sight. It was now a short walk away.
“We can think about-“ Bowser suddenly grimaced in pain. He used his hand that was not holding Y/N to grab at his side.
“Bowser?” Y/N asked worriedly.
“Gah! This hurts! Kamek, take Y/N!” Bowser’s side pain increased and soon rushed to the rest of his body.
Kamek had lowered himself down for Y/N to get onto the broom. She climbed up onto the broom and wrapped her arms around the wizard’s waist. They both watched Bowser writhing in pain.
“Bowser,” Y/N said with concern. She didn’t like seeing him in this pain.
“I think he is changing back to normal size,” Kamek said. “The pain should subside soon. I hope.”
Bowser continued experiencing the immense pressure throughout his body. Soon enough, he was beginning to shrink down in size. The black that once covered his body evaporated and he was back to his original color. He felt the pressure ease off and then he was back to his normal size. Kamek lowered the broom to the ground and Y/N hopped off it. She ran up to Bowser.
“I’m glad to see you normal sized again. Are you okay now? Is the pain gone?”
He rubbed his arms, which still had some slight pain in them, “Yeah, for the most part. My arms feel sore.”
“We can get that taken care of Sire,” Kamek said as he got off his broom. “Let’s get inside the castle now.”
The wizard, king, and human all entered the castle and could see some of the Koopas working on repairs. The entrance had almost been nearly destroyed from Bowser’s earlier rampage.
“I’ll set up a spell to help get this fixed more quickly,” Kamek said to the Koopas.
“That would be great!” One of the Koopas answered.
Kamek cast a spell, and everything got back to where it was originally.
“Thanks!” The Koopas shouted.
“You’re welcome!” Kamek said the Koopas. “Now, about that arm pain.” He had Bowser face him and cast a healing spell. “This will ease the pain down and it should be gone by tomorrow.”
“Thank you Kamek,” Bowser said.
“Of course, Sire. I’ll stay here and make sure no other structure needs refurbishing.”
“Sounds good.”
Y/N and Bowser then walked to the long corridor that had all the bedrooms.
“We should get some rest now. It’s been a long day,” Y/N said.
“Agreed. Um, I can show you around tomorrow if that’s alright with you?” Bowser asked.
“Yes, that would be great.”
The two made it back to where Y/N’s room was at, and Y/N opened the door.
“Y/N?” Bowser asked.
“Yes?”
“Thank you.”
“For what?”
“For being kind and considerate.”
She gave him a small, shy smile, “You’re welcome.”
“Get some rest now.”
“You as well.”
“Join me a little later for dinner?”
“Sure.”
Y/N closed her door and sighed. So much emotion in one day! A nap would do wonders for her, she was sure. This bed was super comfortable. She laid down, letting her head hit the pillow, instantly closing her eyes.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bowser walked back to his room and closed the door. He was beyond exhausted from the day’s events. He was glad Y/N still wanted to be with him despite everything that happened. He smiled and laid down on his bed, letting sleep take over. A nap was a good idea to take advantage of.

It's Complicated: Chapter 7
The wind was picking up it was bizarre it was as though there was a bubble around the castle because the weather around the castle was boiling hot from the lake of lava that surrounded the river the stone bridge you had crossed being the only way back to the castle above the lava lake. But the second that you fled the gates and into the woods a harsh wind was biting at your skin making you instinctively hug yourself in a pitiful attempt to shield yourself from the harsh wind of the woods.
As you ran a spiking pain shot through your leg and your chest was heavy as your breathing got heavier and you struggled more but you couldn’t stop. You had no idea what was keeping you running. An adrenaline rush was the best you could come up with.
Not that you had time to stop but the twisting trunks and branches with spikes that looked like they could easily impale any creature that wasn’t paying attention and was wandering aimlessly.
By some miracle as you ran through your lungs had stayed strong but even a miracle gives in eventually and your lungs started to give in so you stopped and leaned slightly on one of the less twisty trees to keep your lungs from exploding in your chest. As you took heavy panting breaths you heard a slight noise someone was close, and you weren’t prepared to run or put up a fight but as you heard the noise you were happy that you had stopped to listen.
“Who are you!”
It was Luigi. Why was he here peach could have sent him I mean you hoped Yoshi had made his way back home and also it hadn’t been long enough for the ice kingdom to be sending for help you weren’t expected until around now. Right?
Either way you shook of your questions gathering together all your strengths as the pain settled slightly in your lungs and you had known you be able to get a word out.
“Luigi?!”
You heard the footsteps quickly coming towards you and the sight of the green clad plumber and the little dinosaur that helped you on you travels almost moved you to tears as you saw the shocked look on Luigi’s face at that moment your eyes darted down. The dress. The ball gown. The running makeup. Right your gown was torn and you looked like a mess.
“I’ll explain later, can we please go home?” Luigi quickly nodded reaching out his gloved hand to help pull you up and after a moment you were atop of the dinosaur, Luigi could tell you needed the ease of not walking for a few hours way more than he did besides, he was just thrilled you were with him and safe and despite the tears in the dress and the running makeup you still looked absolutely stunning not that he would tell you, that was a secret only he and his diary needed to know.
As you started to calm down you looked over at your friend and despite the comfortable silence you felt the need to say something to tell him how much you missed him and how glad you were he was here and that you loved him. But as per usual you had said nothing just having tears welling into your eyes as you halted the dinosaur and grabbed you friend pushing your head to his chest hearing the steady but quite fast patter of his heart as his chest rose and fell. Your hand desperately clung to his back tightly wrapping your arms around him and holding him in a hug.
For a moment Luigi froze but feeling the warm wet feeling on his chest he assumed you were upset with whatever had happened to you in the past few days and so he softly placed a hand on your back using his thumb and rubbing small circles on your back whilst whispering small, sweet nothings into your ear hoping in some way that this would calm you down and to help you.
After who knows how long despite not wanting to drag yourself from his warmth or stop listening to the sweet nothings that he was whispering in your ears. You heard a low growl getting louder your head snapping upwards that wasn’t the same noise as the Koopa king and as you looked petrified at Luigi his clear anxiety was getting to him as you saw glowing eyes circling around the three of you.
As you had made out the figures. They were wolves. Circling you. Quickly you grabbed Yoshi’s reins quickly and went to grab Luigi’s hand, but he had another plan.
Maybe it was the haunted mansions, going to the under where, fighting count Bleck, fighting ghosts and various battles with the Koopa king but as he saw the wolfs his eye caught a thick branch that was hidden by the snow, but he scrambled down to the ground quickly clutching onto the branch and gesturing for you to get behind him which you quickly did as he held the branch swinging it at the wolves managing to hit a wolf and two before the branch was tugged from him by the wolves and after a few fleeting moments and holding your hand and shutting his eyes tight he was sure that you would be done. At least you were here, though he’d rather that you were at home, with Mario.
As you clutched Yoshi’s reins and Luigi’s hand watching as the wolves stalked forwards you closed your eyes tight knowing in a few seconds you’d be dead hopefully it would be quick painless.
That didn’t happen though.
The next noises you heard was a familiar roar that shook the forest and made you hold Luigi and look up to see the Koopa king as he dashed around smashing his clawed hands into the wolves and they suddenly forgot you with Luigi looking at the scene before you as He fought of the wolves and after a moment falling to the ground. “B-B-Bowser…” Luigi managed to choke out and despite everything your first thoughts were. “We need to help him…” You said with some confidence behind your words this was the only thing that you could say before you walked to the koopa king and tried to lift him between you Luigi and Yoshi you managed to pick him up as you navigated as best as you could back to the Castle and as you made your way into the door the Koopa kids were surrounding you all with a million questions. As you set the king in the living room on a big armchair seeming designed for him you managed to Make a fire hoping that it would warm up the king who was still out cold. “When your father wakes up I think he’d feel happier of you guys were all near him. I’m just going to make some tea and fix up some hot water to help with the scratches.” You said and luckily the kids stayed all sat by their father clearly worried and for the first time since the woods you had a quiet moment and Luigi had came to you in the kitchen. “y/n? What happened, you’ve been gone for two days and then Bowser rescues us, I-I just don’t understand…” “I don’t get it either Luigi, I can tell you what happened but I can’t say it’ll answer any questions?” Luigi just gave you a slight nod and you begun to explain all of the happenings since you left and by the end of the story you both had teacups of tea and you had nine more and a bowl of hot water with a clean rag on a tray ready to bring into the front room. “Right, right… well if your going to be a prisoner here then I am too!” Luigi said after a while of being quiet taking in everything you had to say.
Honestly, he almost made you drop the tray of cups.
“What?”
“Look I cant say everything but if you’re here, I want to be here. If your in the ice kingdom, we are both going. If you want to travel to Sarasa land, I’d be right by your side, Okay?”
You placed down the tray on the side and ran to Luigi holding him tight for a moment. “I’m so lucky to have a friend like you…” you said holding him for a second before getting the tray.
“Yeah, friends…” Luigi muttered quietly sure that you couldn’t hear.

It's almost Halloween so how bout a thought about cell phones and horror movies that's been rattling around my head like a dynamite studded tumbleweed for a while. I saw a post about a week ago about how cell phones should be used for otherworldly shenanigans in horror movies instead of just being 'that's inconvenient to my plot! *nerfs* it's dead/no service now!' While just nerfing cellphones is definitely the most boring option, I personally think that rather than creeping horror, cell phones work better as vehicles for creeping anxiety.
Let the movie start with our main character waking up and realizing their phone didn't charge. They only have like 30%. Something we've all done.
Let them plug it in so it can charge while they get ready. Let their cheep ass planned obsolescence walmart charger cable be shot. Let them riffle through their junk drawer while their coffee percolates. Let there be no spare cable. Let there be a bunch of post it notes behind their head saying things like Buy Milk and Get New Charger Cable and Call Mike (plumber) Back. (Let the milk one be the most visible. Let their milk be spoiled and let them ruin their latte.) Something we've all done.
Let them get on the subway, or bus, or whatever, pull out their phone, grimace at the charge and shove it back in their pocket. Let there be an outside shot of the subway rushing past. Let the next shot be only a stop or two later, showing them having pulled out their phone and browsing Instagram, or playing a matching game, or whatever. Let their phone tick down to 20%. Something we've all done.
Let them bum a charger for a few minutes from a friend. Let it tick back up from 15% to 21%. Let the little icon turn green again. Let the friend have to leave. Let them take the charger away with them.
Let the phone tick back down into the red again.
Let our main character get sent to somewhere. Let them be a little worried now. Not because anything's wrong yet but at the thought of spending 4 to 6 hours somewhere with no way to charge. Not because anything's wrong but because we're all so used to being connected all the time. We are always connected. So when we suddenly aren't– It's unsettling.
Unnatural.
Let them check their phone charge.
Let them check it again.
Let our main character get sent somewhere. Somewhere isolated. Not deep woods, not back woods, not creepy cabin. Just somewhere away. Somewhere alone.
Let them check their phone charge again.
Don't make it some mystical cell service dead zone. They get service.
Their phone is at 11%.
Let them get a text. From their friend. From their boyfriend. From their mother. From their boss from their roommate, from their ex, from their company IT guy. Let them text back can't talk now phone about to die
Let the 10% warning pop up just as things shift from vaguely unsettling to creepy.
To something is wrong.
It's a long ride. They're not scrolling through anything anymore.
Let them check their phone charge again.
Let them get where they're supposed to be for the day.
6%
Something is wrong.
Let them take a call from their boss. Let them consider not picking it up. Let them answer it. Let the call be pointless.
4%
Let them be alone. Let it be somewhere normal. Just a little bit out of the way. Let it be somewhere connected. In theory. Let them be alone. If their phone was charged they wouldn't even feel like they were.
Let them check their phone charge again.
Let there be no landline.
Let them raid a junk drawer. Let them find a charger. Let it be shot. (Let there be a note by the drawer. Get New Charger Cable.)
Let them check their phone charge again.
Don't just let their only lifeline die. Let the victim be the one to kill it.

[ A video is embedded. It seems to be recorded from a Nintendo DS, judging by its poor quality. The lack of a light source didn't help much either. The air was silent. The sounds of carefully placed footsteps could be heard in the background along with a shaky, heavy breath of an Italian plumber.
"I um, heard that there was a 'live' function but it seems nobody uses it so, I'ma just pretend that uh, you guys are here with me right now!" A hesitant voice whispered. Luigi sounded much higher in pitch and voice cracks seemed frequent.
"That seems a bit stupid now that I think more about it, uhm... I think I'll still just record uh, because w-why not! Haha!"
A sigh was heard from behind the camera as it slowly shifted to video the rest of the room. Cracks of light shined inside the mall, illuminating a small portion of the store. However, it was still very difficult to make out Luigi's surroundings. It was just...dark.
The green one began to hum the familiar tune of Luigi's Mansion to break the deafening silence. The sound of silence was something he was not found of, at all. He was embarrassed singing and humming in front of others, but it seems he had forgot about the camera entirely. He had other things to worry about. Much, bigger and more important things...
The camera began to jolt around violently, causing the footage to become motion blurred. Eventually, it steadied, focusing on a what looked like two bright, glowing yellow eyes. It rushed toward the screen, making an unidentifiable, ear-piercing noise.
Video end. ]
