Senate Bill 686 of the 118th Congress (The Restrict Act)

I’m honestly a bit disappointed here at Tumblr for not talking about this bill more, so I’m going to share what I’ve learned about it with you all

The link above goes to a pdf file going over the entire bill that has only been introduced atm as shown in the image just above from congress.gov.

Now, people only see this as a means to ban Tiktok, but that’s just the mask this truly cruel bill is hiding behind.

To boil it all down, this bill lets the Secretary of Commerce to have the power to ban…basically ANYTHING on the internet.

This includes hardware like video game consoles or Wifi networks as well as software and applications such as VPNs.

It also gives the government the power to monitor, basically everything you do online, private messages, posts on social media, streams, you name it, they can monitor it.

And the punishment for using, say, a VPN to access Tiktok, will result in 20 years in prison with a 1/4 million fine, a full million if you did it on purpose.

Now, I please ask you all to go to your representatives and tell them about how you don’t want this bill to be passed whatsoever. Heck, if you have to, (passively) threaten them with supporting their opponent in the next primary in any way they can. Just remember to be respectful and civil.

If you don’t want to do that, I respect that decision, and I understand that you wouldn’t want to deal with politics. But, I at least ask you to signal boost this post by reblogging it to your own followers and give any other thoughts about this that you might have in the tags or just normally.

I don’t want this lovable hellsite we all call home and made such good friends and memories on to be under the eyes of those pedophilic heathens who can’t seem to even know how to unlock a smartphone.

This paycheck was taken up by a lot of cat supplies. My girl has been eating less and less since I went back to work. She had an appointment on Friday and she's lost weight over the last month. I'm going back to the doctor tomorrow morning, I think she's just constipated but that can be bad if not taken care of.

I currently have $279 but I need groceries still for the next two weeks. I also have a $150 IRS bill coming out automatically on the 10th so that leaves me $129 for groceries and unknown price at the vet.

The plot:

Eddie, newly retired from the army, newly a single father, needs money fast, so he can move out of his parents place. Starts stripping, and he's pretty damn good at it. His family thinks he's waiter or something.

Buck newly discovered he's bi, just moved to Texas, to work at a ranch. checks out the local strip club. Gets a lap dance from Eddie, falls in love.

Eddie's mom and sisters (Eddie is the youngest) are at a bachelorette party, ends up at the strip club, seeing him dance and give Buck a lap dance. His mom is horrified to see what her baby boy is doing, to a man no less😱His sisters are grossed out, but find it hilarious😂 poor Eddie doesn't notice they are there until he's finished the lap dance. (he only strips down to his boxer briefs, don't wanna traumatize the family, and I don't like thongs on guys, sorry😅)

This plot is a mess, so I don't know how it should end. Maybe Eddie's just like "we'll that's one way to come out the closet" and then he asks buck out on a date. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I have edited this to be a more concise and in-depth breakdown of my fundraiser reasons, details and costs.

I'm currently on low income & living with my sister's family. I am unable to afford to save for housing let alone current rent & storage fees in top of that cost. I am seeking employment but both job & housing markets are difficult to navigate.

Cost breakdown

Currently I make $375 a month.

Current Rent - $75/week

Storage - $128/bi-weekly ((PAID!!))

Personal (ie : toiletries, laundry, food etc) - $50

1st & Last Mths Rent/Sec. Dep - $700+ (min)

This isn't feasible so I am doing everything I can to stay afloat but I'm starting to panic.

My rent for this week has not been paid, and is three days late as of Monday, July 22. As such, I am unsure if I will be remaining with family or moving back to the streets.

I have removed my GFM and am currently only working through PayPal as GFM was having issues and everyone was donating through PayPal anyway. I do not want anyone losing money through GFM if any further issues were to arise.

All monies will go towards housing costs and more immediate fees. Immediate fees are things like current rent, 1st & last Mths rent & deposit & personal costs, as listed above.

I know I don't have many followers on any of my accounts. All I ask is a few dollars, or, if you cannot, please share so I can manage a wider reach.

I've been homeless already. I spent the entirety of last summer on the streets and I am praying the same thing doesn't happen again. I am hopeful but scared. So I'm doing what I can to manage the situation. Thank you, in advance, to anyone who donates and/or shares.
