maybe the real odyssey was the friends we made when on the way

just watched jays video in ithaca and its honestly the best thing ever. mr jalapeno never ceases to amaze, his dedication and sincerity are so wonderful and hes a joy to see and hear from always. its so cool to see how much he and his project grew, as did we alongside him.

anyway i got hit with all the feels lol, realising that with the ithaca saga epic comes to an end. the past 6 months have been a blast for me, this blog was made and through it i met so many of my beloved moots and shared good times with friends and strangers alike.

to me its the bittersweet reality of engaging with any fandom, that feelings are inevitable and to me at least all encompassing if im not careful. and ive only just realised but epic (in the 3 months ive been here lol) has become such a big backdrop to my life outside of the confines of uni and deadlines and stress... and so to have it end, and on the most beautiful notes no less, is making me quite emotional.

in a few days epic ends and with it the journey we all shared, but the friendships forged and memories made will shine softly on. its been a great joy and honour to have been a part of it all and get to watch it unfurl and im so grateful to have met my favouritest people ever. i greatly look forward to seeing what the future holds.

final exam tomorrow, still got work to do & panic is setting in (for realsies this time) so i decided it would be a great idea to put words together. will probably delete later lol but have this for now

dangit im having emotions again.

listened to die with a smile, and it reminds me so much as the world caves in oddly enough. the setiment is the same, albeit sung in polar opposite ways.

theyre both so soft and sweet. so different yet so similar. the love is so pure and deep, and remains as such both while waiting and preparing for the end.

so i reflect a little, because i think interpretations are more often than not reflections of ourselves. other times being external influence or some other variable. anyway

the beauty of love to me lies in its many colours and shades. to live and fall in love with life, of friends and family, for strangers and stars, hymns and humanity, for nature and knowledge.

apocalyptic love songs is probably my favourite genre of music ever. (honourable mention to wasteland baby btw)

theres something so soothing about the thought of having your person (or people) by your side at the end of it all… theres no going back to what we had nor what was, but i have you. had you. and thats all i want. wanted. augh

back to my inner turmoil, sometimes i wonder if i yearn to love (and be loved) because despite everything telling me otherwise i still see myself as unloveable. not truely at least. much less as deeply.

"water water everywhere, nor any drop to drink". i have so much to give but not for me. never for me. to so much as spare it a second of thought is sacriledge.

i crave to be held, and not to a standard. but how do you unlearn that.

'my soul has been put out and needs another to relight it', i think to myself. this dependence, the need for.. other, it scares me. it leaves me vulnerable. 'its inevitable though', i offer back sensibly. i can only hold the truth off for so long.

when i drop my unlit matches, am i waiting for someone to put them back in my hand? someone who will offer me a light anyway? will someone point out the fact and leave me to pick up after myself?

i continue to waste away in my thoughts as my matches are now rendered useless by the damp.
