The top relationships on AO3 include both platonic and romantic/sexual relationships; so does this bracket. Death. You’ve been thinking about it for days on end, what does it feel like? Your foster father, Jonathan (or as everyone calls him, John), says it’s Cold. Chilling. Scary. But what if it isn’t? Some people die with a smile on their face, so perhaps it could be the same for you?

Foster family after foster family. Abusive, neglectful piece of shits who only foster for the money. You’re afraid John might be the same.

The poor man, however, actively tries to convince you he isn’t like them. He does movie nights every Saturday, he actually listens when you talk, every word you say doesn’t go unnoticed. And his efforts don’t go unnoticed by you, not at all. He’s gentle. He’s a gentle man.

But you’ve had enough.

You’re scared shitless, some families acted like they were “mental health advocates” until you showed signs of burnout, depression, and even a tinge of anger issues, that’s when they threw you away.

And you’re just at your limit with John. The mask is.. slowly.. cracking.

John’s been a sweet guy, and he does everything in his power to make you feel okay, safe, happy. But you don’t budge. But you don’t show that you’re not budging, you show him a happy person, someone you’re not. And you’re getting tired.

You sit on the couch, the TV on. You briefly look at the movement, the show must be some silly romcom, how cute.

Your phone’s music and the TV served as background noise, initially done to shut away the thoughts, but they’re.. lingering..

John was out of the house, buying groceries. He tried to persuade you to tag along; “You haven’t been out the house for a couple of weeks now, Y/N. you better go out!” He said, in that sickly sweet and kind voice of his. But you insisted on staying. Being tired from staying up was your excuse, and he let you off.

You paused the music and turned off the TV, and laid down on the couch, staring at the ceiling. It wouldn’t hurt to.. at least try. If he comes back before you actually do it, you can act like you never even tried, it’d be fine.

And if you succeeded?

But wouldn’t he be upset? Sad? He’d feel like he failed you. He never did, he never will.

He’d understand, surely he will.

Suddenly, you find yourself in the kitchen, in front of the knives John kept hanging on a shelf. For some reason he leaves them out in the open.

You grab the sharpest one, or rather, the newest knife. You look at it, and your reflection stares right back, as if to plead with you to not do it, think about it.

You ignore its pleas.

You slowly place the knife right under your wrist. Your breathing’s heavy, your heartbeat’s accelerated.

Should I do it? Should I do it?

Should I-

Warmth, but not from your wrist.

Your shoulder? Is it the grim reaper paying a visit?

You look over slowly, and your stomach drops. It’s John.

You look behind him, the grocery bags are on the floor, the different things he bought scattered across the floor.

“Hey.” He speaks a little louder, which causes you to look at him. He puts two fingers under your chin, keeping it in place.

He slowly takes the knife from your hand, sliding it across the counter; away from your hands.

“Are you okay?” Fuck, fuck, fuck.

Warmth, but not from your wrist.

Your eyes? You must be going blind.

Throughout your body, are you in Heaven?

No, you’re in John’s arms. Maybe that’s your own, twisted little version of Heaven. Isn’t Heaven the place where you feel eternal peace? John gives you peace, albeit not as eternal as Heaven, but he’s your Heaven on Earth.

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry-“ You sob into his chest. He merely shushes you, running his hand up and down your back.

It’s 11PM. You and John are on the couch, you’re holding onto him like a koala hugging a tree. It’s been silent.

“What made you want to do it?” He breaks the silence as he whispers the dreaded question.

“John, do you- will you still want me here?” You look at him.

Silence.

“Pardon?” He raises a brow.

“Will you still want me here? You won’t- give me back, right?” You look at him: expectant, hopeful.

“Of course not, Y/N.” He hugged you a little tighter. “You’re stuck with me.”

Maybe he won’t leave like the others did.

At the realization, the world felt a little brighter.

Buddy was starting to think that maybe these little portals were going to become a thing for her. If it was, she was going to start a personal log for it.

Earlier…

The Decepticons had found the location of their base.

They needed to leave.

Optimus was instructing everyone to go their separate ways until they could regroup.

To avoid any call to attention, each Autoboot was to go their separate ways.

That meant Ratchet and Buddy would be separated.

Buddy was nervous being away from her family.

Away from her father.

Buddy holding Ratchet’s servo as Prime activates the groundbridge.

Ratchet’s hold tightens a bit as the swirls grow brighter.

Buddy takes one last look as she looks at the Prime in front.

She slowly let’s go of Ratchet’s servo and walks to the portal.

She takes one last look at her family before running through.

If she went any slower, she would have surely turned back.

She stepped into a mountainous terrain. Perfect for hiding from anyone.

Buddy spent two weeks in the rock formations, constantly looking out for anything familiar or any contact.

She did cry a couple nights wondering what had happened to her team and father.

She missed them all dearly.

That’s when she saw another portal.

Too shocked the portal sucked her in without a second thought.

When Buddy woke up, she looked at an unfamiliar ceiling.

A medical room’s ceiling to be exact.

She slowly lifted her helm.

“Don’t do that. You hit your helm hard when you came in through the portal.”--Ratchet

Buddy turning towards the voice to see… Ratchet?

“Ratchet?”--Buddy

Ratchet turns around and walks towards her with a data pad in his servos.

“I’m guessing you have a Ratchet in your universe.”--Ratchet

“Actually, I have dealt with dimensional stuff before. Though they came to my universe instead of me to theirs.”--Buddy

First Aid, Ambulon, and Velocity walked into the room.

“Oh! She’s awake. I’m First Aid and this is Ambulon and Velocity.”—First Aid

“What’s your designation?”--Velocity

The medical team raised an optic.

“Buddy?”—all the medics

Buddy crosses her arms a bit.

“My first father gave me it. Before the war started.”--Buddy

“First father?”--Ratchet

“The war? That’s been over for a while now.”--Velocity

Buddy slowly moving her helm towards Velocity.

“What…”--Buddy

“The war is over in this universe kid. Megatron surrendered.”--Ambulon

Buddy faints on the med slab.

“…”—All the medics

“At least she was here when she fainted.”—First Aid

Eventually when she recovered from the shock, Buddy put on a brave face and followed Ratchet and First Aid to the main bridge.

Ratchet felt Buddy hold his servo with a death grip when she saw Megatron, but he had to give it to her, she had a pretty good brave face.

She even managed to take her servo out to shake it to the former war lord.

Buddy’s optics widen as she lets go of Megatron’s servo.

It was going to take a while longer than expected for the portal to Buddy’s dimension to work, but Buddy didn’t seem to mind it too much.

Yes, she was worried for her family back at home.

But this beat staying alone in the mountain range.

Buddy naturally met Drift soon enough after spending so much time with Ratchet and Rodimus.

Drift and Buddy got along like a house fire.

Buddy got excited to see the samurai bot every time he came by the med bay.

Buddy smiles and jumps into the portal.

When she got out of the portal, she was back in the mountain range.

This time her comms and messages were flooded with unread messages and missed calls.

Buddy let out her SOS button and sat down on a nearby rock.

She would be with her family soon enough.

Soulmates: Okay, you must have telepathy or something, seriously! For a couple weeks now I've been working on a soulmate series with the fandoms in mind being Naruto and One Piece for right now. Getting ideas so things aren't the same across the board has been difficult.

As for the poll... I honestly had a few in mind as a general "who'd like the idea of having a soulmate." Since it wasn't multiple choice I put Itachi but Naruto, Gaara, Kakashi, and Lee, with Neji in a close position behind them, would be really high on my list. It all has to do with their life situations from canon.

So Itachi, if we stayed with canon, I could really see him hoping to meet them especially after being forced to kill his clan. I'm of the mind the Uchiha clan loves deeply, if not so much quickly. Knowing he has someone out there that would love him platonically or romantically without judging his past at least TOO harshly would be something I could see getting him through things. I don't think he'd want to find them because of what he's done and then with being ill, and having Sasuke coming after him...I just don't see him wanting to put them through that. If it was a non-massacre AU situation though, I still see him really loving the concept but in this scenario he'd want to find them. They'd be his safe haven, his quiet place, the one who really knows him behind the mask he wears for family and village. I can even see him actively looking for them depending on how the soulmate connection worked.

As for Naruto, I mean the boy really needs 100% on the poll. After all he's put through, sacrifices, and gives freely for loved ones and village, the boy deserves a soulmate and the sooner the better! Being called demon and monster and shunned as a kid could have really put him on a darker path and if we looked at it logically, he should have. I mean I can really see him being the ultimate villain in the story. However, with a soulmate - if someone explained it to him properly - I could see this being a dream right up there with wanting to be Hokage. To know someone will love him for him, Ramen obsession and all 🙂, would be something extra special to him and boy, don't let him hear you bad mouth them! Before he finds them or not. And then of course, the fluff!!!

Gaara, after his seal is fixed or whatever we want to say happens between the chunin exam invasion and when we see him next as a kage (I may have forgotten if they explained this or not it's been a hot minute since I've seen Shippuden), is kind of in the same situation as Naruto in a way. He'd probably be afraid of finding them at first because of Shukaku and not wanting to know someone who's his fears him. That'd break him, I think. But once he sees they aren't afraid of him and how tender they are with him it would be his most precious treasure.

OH MY GOSH! THIS ASK IS AMAZING! Okay, okay, okay, let me give me thoughts a section at a time, and then I'll get to the other ones ;)

ITACHI

With canon Itachi, I think you're so right in that his soulmate story is a tragic romance. He yearns for them, it brings him peace on his worst nights to know that there's someone out there who could love him, even after everything. But he will never, ever try to find them. If they found him, he'd run away so fast.

He feels cursed. His soulmate doesn't deserve to be dragged into this. They may be sad to never meet their soulmate, but whether they know it or not, Itachi thinks they'll be happier if he's dead.

Where this is complicated a bit, is what happens if Itachi has already found his soulmate before he massacre's his clan. But I still think that he'd run. He thinks it would hurt them less if he doesn't drag them into it. And if they're also an Uchiha? Well, I think he would rationalise that they'd be better off dead, give them a nice genjutsu life before killing them... and then he leaves Konoha with his soul quite literally broken.

Non-massacre Itachi is exactly as you said! His soulmate is his safe space! They would be so cute. Itachi would be so smitten. He pretends to be all logical about it whenever his teammates or Shisui would tease him about eventually finding his soulmate. Acting all mature like 'it's effort that makes a relationship succeed' and 'my first duty is to my clan'.

But then. Then! He meets his soulmate and boy is gone, he's a pile of love sick mush. Sasuke is incredibly judgemental about the whole thing lol.

NARUTO

So, Naruto is actually who I voted for, so safe to say I agree with you haha. But you summed it up so perfectly!

Child!Naruto wants to be loved. He wants someone to see him and love him, that's his biggest wish. Wanting to become Hokage is actually a step to achieving that, so actually being loved is his number one goal. So if he knew he had a soulmate out there somewhere? Oh boy. Meeting them is his dream, his ultimate life goal.

He dreams about them, he even talks to his imaginary version of his soulmate when he's sad. If he has some kind of mark, he caresses it all the time. He's keeps a sharp eye out for his soulmate.

But what I think is so cute about a soulmate AU with Naruto, is he talks about them constantly, he's desperate to find them, everyone around him is like lol, poor soulmate is going to be bombarded by him.

And then Naruto meets them, and he gets shy. He's all blushy and starry eyed and shy, and it's literally the cutest thing in the world!

GAARA

I think your idea is very realistic for Gaara, in the sense that he needs to be in the right place, as an adult, before he's anticipating his soulmate.

I do think that he's way more cautious than Naruto though. While he believes in soulmates, I think he doesn't quite fall in love with them until he meets them and gets to know them. He's not going to fall in love with a concept like Naruto.

But once he finds them, he's so pro soulmates. With his own children, he encourages them heavily to find their soulmate, and will give as many resources as they need to make it happen.

So in a weird way, Gaara is more in love with the concept of soulmates after he's already found his own.

Sure! This was the plot picked by that Michael Afton poll I did awhile back. Sorry the plot was a bit rushed... I got really stuck with writing this.

After his life went downhill, Michael didn't have many friends. His childhood still haunts him... part of him feels lilke it's his fault... part of him blames his father.

You never knew his pain. You never knew his family's sins. However... you act like you understand him.

You saw Michael as a kid with a troubled past, one you've been friends with since childhood. You've heard tales of what his father's done. Terrible stories of murders and losses....

There was the time Michael's brother was thrown into an animatronic's mouth, there was the time his sister was violently mauled by another. Then there were the countless murders caused by Michael's father himself.

You'd think stories like this would make you scared of Michael. No... it didn't. Naive child that you were you stuck with him.

You'd never bring up his father. His family was always a touchy subject. You always kept chats away from his personal home life.

If he was feeling down, scared about more misfortune coming to him, you'd comfort him. You always told him things would be different. You weren't scared of him, he's different than his dad!

That's what you thought... surely he could overcome such trauma...

Yet his dad had more of an effect on him than you thought when you were younger.

You were probably the one thing keeping Michael from breaking down when he was younger. Perhaps Michael was always meant to be some sort of murderer. Ever since Fredbear's his path was set, wasn't it?

But that was a mistake, he could move on, couldn't he?

What a hopeful thought.

He's the son of a murderer... he was always meant to be a killer.

It had been years since you saw Michael again. He had his own problems to deal with, you had yours. You just hoped he eventually got help... although last you heard his father had gone missing.

When you eventually see him again it's by accident. You wanted to revisit your old town with a friend. Hell, you wanted to be a kid again and see that old Freddy Fazbear pizzeria if it was still around.

That's when you met with Michael, your old friend now an adult and quite surprised to see you. He appeared even more surprised at your new friend.

Was he replaced once you left?

Old friends meet new friends and you chat for hours. Michael soon realizes how much he's missed your voice... your face... you. He could never seem to forget you despite what he's gone through. Soon the unspoken question between you eventually comes up...

How long will you be staying?

The moment you say a week to visit your parents with your... friend, Michael's giddy. A week is all he needs. After all... you've tormented his mind for years since you left.

It's about time he did something about it.

You wondered if Michael deteriorated when you left the town for a fresh start. Perhaps you really were what was holding him together. Was the damage caused by his family even fixable?

Michael should've expected this to happen. He's killed before, while that was an accident, was it really a surprise that he's killed again? His father would've praised him...

He's a bloody animal... someone who truly caved and gave into his roots.

"You were never meant to see that! Oh, what have I done...."

He isn't even sure why he said that. What else was he supposed to say with you standing right there? He's sloppy... he isn't skilled.

How was he supposed to hide the blood quickly staining your old childhood home? What about the bodies? He wasn't thinking things through...

Yet it's over. Now... you're just like him, aren't you?

Broken... with no one else to care for you... except him, of course.

He isn't sure why... but when he sees you scream and cry, he smiles. Did he like your suffering? Maybe he was just happy he got what he wanted?

You... by doing what he did he now has you.

You don't move. You can only stand like prey in front of a predator. Blood reaches your feet... the smell of a slaughterhouse floods your nose. This couldn't be Michael....

Deep down... maybe you should've seen it coming.

You're the one who befriended a monster.

When Michael stands up, to comfort or taunt you who knows, you shuffle away. Part of him... one rooted deep in his mind... finds it cute. Blood covers you both, a blade still coated in meat firmly in his grasp.

The meat of your loved ones.

"You look so pretty when you cry...." Michael whispers softly, quickly cornering you. You flinch when he holds up a knife, admiring the bloody reflection caused by the metal. His eyes then snap to you, devoid of anything human. "For the record, love, you knew nothing about me back then.... That's okay, now you truly understand how I felt...."

A bloody hand touches your cheek in an uncharacteristically loving matter. He grins with a hum but you can only cry.

"Now that you're mine... Won't you be a good pet for me?"

Good evening ROTBTD'ers! As per the poll, I am proud to present the results and our first interview!

And so, I would like to present for our first Post:

A short interview with Olive from @trixicwriter94 , current director* of the project B4: Guardians, a Rise of the Brave tangled Dragons fan film.

I know customary wording is Q/A but here we’ll be working with the A/O format.

A = Andy, providing questions and O= Olive, our first creator.

A- So for starters, let's do some basic introductions! Could you state your preferred online name /user and your pronouns? (For your reference I'm Andy and I use he/him)

O- Olive is my name, and my pronouns are they/them!

A- Nice to meet you formally Olive!

O- Nice to meet you, too, Andy! Thank you for conducting this interview!

A- It's a pleasure to service my community (fandom), we can pinpoint the birth of the fandom to 2012-2013, when and how did you initially discover the [rotbtd] fandom?

O- Oooh, that’s a good question. I’d have to say that I first saw the fandom here on Tumblr, but I can’t exactly pinpoint when that was. I was still new to Tumblr back then, so I was still new to the idea of “fandom”.

A- That's valid, in that same branch, how long have you been active in the fandom?

O- I think I’ve been active pretty much since it was started in 2013.

A- Nice, we love an OG! Since you've been here a while, what would you say has most changed in ~10 years of the fandom?

O- hank you! I think the the things that’s most changed is the fact that people in the fandom have added a lot more characters/movies (that, in my opinion, are unnecessary) to the Big Four.

A- Yeah, I feel the same honestly, but I can appreciate an odd bunch from time to time! In matters of characters, do you have a fave out of the four or one from their distinct casts?

O- Hmmm…I know that we’re using pre-HTTYD2 Hiccup and Toothless in B4: Guardians, but my favorite character among the cast of characters from the How To Train Your Dragon franchise is Eret, Son Of Eret. Anyone who knows me well would not be very surprised by that fact. My favorite among the four has got to be Rapunzel. She’s just feisty and has a fighting spirit. She fights for what she believes in, and I really admire that about her.

A- That's a very nice portrait of Rapunzel! If you had to say which character is most like you/that you identify with the most, who would you pick?

O- It’s a cross between Hiccup and Rapunzel. Hiccup because I’m an outcast in my family. I’m the youngest, unmarried and with no kids… and I’m okay with that. Rapunzel because I feel like I’m just dreaming about writing full time, and painting is very important to Rapunzel, so I relate to her being interested in the visual arts. I’m currently in culinary school, but it’s physically and mentally draining each week. Anyway, yeah. Hiccup and Rapunzel are the ones I relate to most!

A- Interesting! I had no idea you studied culinary, cool vocation! And in matters of vocation, what would say your role within the fandom is?

O- I like to think that I’m a content creator within the fandom, despite the fanfilm not being that well-known!

A- Speaking of creation, now would be a great time for you to tell us about that fan vfilm! In a few lines can you tell us about the fan film itself?

O- Okay! The fan film is about Jack, Merida, Rapunzel and Hiccup being chosen to discover their centers, defeat a great evil, and help rekindle a broken father/daughter relationship. I think the lesson of the movie is that family isn’t just blood, but it’s also your chosen family, the family that you meet along the journey of your life.

O- Like, I know a LOT of people ship Merricup and Jackunzel and all the other ones…but I just see those four being good friends, with a family dynamic. Their chosen family may be small, but they grow as characters, and I like to believe we see that growth in B4: Guardians, and not just in each of the characters’ source material.

A- That's a fair point, platonic relationships are just as important as romantic ones and should not be undervalued; I know that you currently hold multiple positions in the making of this fan film, now I've seen the most updated version up on youtube and I'm wondering who came up with this?

O- That would be TheRedBoots, on deviantArt. They’ve since left the group (mentally and emotionally, although their username is still physically listed as the founder, as far as I’m aware). Back in 2013, I was just watching random Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons YouTube videos (like fantrailers), and I saw this comment asking for people to help with a project that would soon after be known as The Big Four: Rise Of the Brave Tangled Dragons. It wasn’t until several years later that a Twitter user came up with the new title, since, technically, Rise Of the Brave Tangled Dragons was a copyrighted title (shout out to FILMSTHESEDAYS…I honestly have no clue if they’re still on Twitter since I’ve deleted my account). And, thus, B4: Guardians was the new name, and it’s been that way ever since.

The year was, I think, 2018 when the title was changed, since that’s the year that I made the post on the deviantArt page.

A- Dang what a story! And while we’re here, what ads are currently up for the project?

O- Let’s see, I’ve posted several on my TikTok and Instagram, and the lead animator has posted an ad on their channel. I have also posted some here on Tumblr. Most of the posts I’ve made on social media are just progress reports, but there’s one ad I made looking for volunteer animators and composers for this fanfilm.

Now here’s a couple rapid fire questions

O- I’m ready!

A- 1. Fave media format in the fandom ? (story, animation, art, cosplay, etc)

O- Probably art. I love seeing all the different art styles people have.

And, sadly, I rarely read other people’s fanfics, as I don’t want to think that “oh, that would make a good fanfilm”.

I’ve also scoured YouTube for animators for this thing…and I can’t really find that many, unfortunately.

A- Yeah that’s fair, tis' the ages for this,

2. Your favourite song for the main cast?

O- Hmmm…like from the original source materials’ scores or fanmade songs?

A- Whichever you like best :)

O - I think my favorite fanmade song for this crossover is a tie between No Way Out by 808mossmallow, and Free (Special Edition) by Ellie Amaya. The three others I love are Someday Things Will Change by Lily Sevin, Something Different by Lily Sevin, and Take Pity On Me by Walker Smith.

Fun fact: You may or may not hear those songs in the end credits of B4: Guardians!😉

3. Favourite AU?

O- Thank you! I knew we needed something for the end credits, and I love all of those songs, so, after I got permission from each of the artists to use their respective songs in the end credits, I’ve spliced each of the songs up to make a mashup!

As for favorite AU…I’d have to say any Modern AU.

A- Very valid! I love modern AUs as well haha

O- Because, before 2020, I was really hoping to make this fan film live-action, even going as far as making wishlists for props, casting actors, trying to raise the money, and looking at locations.

A- Ooooo I’ve always dreamed of a live action Movie, I wanted my story to be one initially haha

Now, our final question, what is your wish for the fandom?

O- That’s really cool! My wish for the fandom is that this fan film (and the fandom in general) thrives for years to come. It’s one of the reasons I write fiction: to get my stories out there, and for them to become people’s favorite books. The same goes for the fanfilm: I want people to be able to enjoy it now and in the future.

A- That is a beautiful wish, I hope it comes true! ☺️

The votes are in, and creepypasta has won the vote for what I will write to celebrate hitting 1k followers on this blog! As well as this, Eyeless Jack won the majority vote! Originally, when I made the first poll to determine the fandom, I was going to come up with my own plot... However I fell in love with the idea of you guys helping me build a fic together.. And to keep up with that theme, I'm going to allow you guys to send in prompts; I will likely either host a raffle or a final vote, then finally! I will start writing! Below will be the rules and requirements in order to submit anything, and I urge you all to read this carefully so your idea can be added into the mix! More info will be under the cut!

So How Do We Submit A Prompt?

I feel that it will be easier for me to keep track of prompts through the inbox, just as my other requests. However this has the opportunity to get messy and confusing fast. So if you're sending in a suggestion for the one shot, I ask that you very clearly specify so! Otherwise I won't be able to know and I will treat it as I would any normal request. What Is Allowed To Be Sent In?

What Can We Expect From The Fic?

The plot obviously, is still undecided. However, the fic is most likely going to be an Eyeless Jack x Reader one shot! As per usual for this blog, the reader will be GN, so you can easily put yourself or your oc in your shoe! I don't have a set length in mind for the fic, as my writing tends to vary, but I do intend on it being decent length! I don't want to put a goal word count in fear of intimidating myself, but I do intend to aim for over 1.5k! The fic will be posted here, and will get it's own unique tag so it can more easily found!

Why The Long Wait?

I am hosting each segment of this process for a week before moving onto the next step. This is because Tumblr only has two options for poll lengths and the one week time frame just stuck. One week to determine fandom, one week to pick a character, and this time is going to be no different! As well as the final piece of this; taking into account it's going to take me a few days to write the fic and (hopefully) revise it... writing is hard, but I also want everyone to have more than enough time to put their votes/ideas into this, as it's a celebration of this blog and your guys' support!

Will there be future fics?

I'm unsure, I would hope so! This fic is of course for a milestone but I do hope to one day write at least one fic per creepypasta character that I do write for
