ANS Winter Roulette 2024

The end of 2024 is almost near — as is the season of family holidays and snowflakes. And with that is the final ANS event for the year:

ANS Winter Roulette 2024!!

In this brand-new event, which will be hosted in December, is an event where each participant will be able to submit one fanwork. Similar to the Rarepair Scramble, participants will be given a card based on what rolls they get on the roulette board.

The host will spin the wheel for each participant on various categories that will dictate where their fanwork will go: such as genre, AU or canon, the number of characters, which characters will be included, and more.

Note: Categories such as romantic/platonic and fanwork type will be left to the participant's discretion to allow as much freedom as possible.

Also if you dislike a certain choice, you are allowed a respin. For example, say you get the horror genre pick but you don't like horror or aren't good at showcasing it, just ask for a re-roll; or you get the roll with 5 characters, but, if you're a fanartist, drawing 5 people is too much, even though you have a whole month to work on it, you can also ask for a re-roll. The choice is yours.

There's only one hardline rule: It HAS to be winter-themed or holiday-themed.

There's no deadline, as you have the whole month to work on your submission. It's even fine for late subs as well.

Also note that any and all fanworks are included in this, whether it's fanfics, fanart, fancomics, fanmixes, fan colorings, fan collages, fan mood-boards, memes, etc, etc.

You can also sign up for this event at any point in time as well. When December hits, I'll spin the wheels and make the cards for you so that you can get working on your fanworks.

You can sign up either here on Tumblr or on the ANS Discord server. Choice is yours.

If you would like me to livestream the wheels and you get to see your options being picked in real-time, then I'll do that. In fact, I'll do a poll to check.

Every person has unique experiences and thoughts to share, and right now, the only admins have been writers so it would also be super cool if someone who draws or makes fanmixes or cosplays or even just an observer steps up to share unique insights and help brainstorm prompts.

AnS Platonic Week 2024 | Day 1 appreciation prompt | @ans-arcade

Day One: What is your most favorite platonic pairing and why?

I've been thinking about this for a long time, mainly being split between ObiTorou and ZenMitsuKiki but ultimately decided for Obi and Torou cause I don't actually go a day without not thinking about them.

Their main appeal to me is actually the uncertainty and what we don't know about them and their past/relationship rather then what we are shown in 2 chapters :') getting a glimpse into their present dynamic obviously tells use they weren't always like this. I mean, yeah Torou always used to leave the "hard work" to Obi as he mentions once but Torou literally tells us HEY OBI!! THIS IS NOT LIKE YOU!! so their past dynamic was obviously somewhat different before and it makes me !!! scream !!!

also totally obsessed with Torou just going "welp it's about time you drop these swordmen and hurry back to US"– you can say that they maybe weren't as close but they (or at least Torou) cared!! she cared enough to invite him back after 3 years!! she cared enough to offer him help when he was injured!! and Obi cared enough to entertain Torou's requests !!! They were definitely more than just colleagues and I'll die on that hill.

Lastly, something I really like about them is Torou being the one always "casually" reaching out – and Obi (in most cases) reluctantly accepting. I don't know.... it's something about the contrast of Obi's personality then and now. It makes me insane.

(that's the main reason I really wanna see Torou again cause imagine their dynamic now!!!! OBITOROU SAVE ME)

ANS Platonic Week 2024

ANS Platonic Week 2024 is October 1st through October 7th! As usual, any platonic relationships can be shown or created for this event, and like last year, our last two days are focused particularly on family relationships, which can be interpreted as found family or however loosely you would like to interpret it. If no ideas come for family relationships for those days, friendship or other platonic relationships can definitely be used as well.

We are also trying something new this year, and we decided to give you some audience prompts, if you are too busy to create anything for the event or if you are not one who creates stuff, just enjoys seeing other people's hard work. The Audience prompt bonus question is either for the day after the event or whenever you would like to answer it. Audience prompts are down below underneath the creative prompts for the event!
