How to Apply PlastiDip Near Me
Plasti Dip is a cool way to change the colour or add a protective layer to things like car rims, tools, or even phone cases. Applying Plasti Dip is easy and fun! Here's how you can do it:
First, make sure you're in a well-ventilated area, like outside or in a garage with the door open. Plasti Dip spray can be smelly and you don't want to breathe it in too much.
Next, clean whatever you're going to dip really well. Use soap and water to get rid of any dirt or grease. Let it dry completely before you start spraying.
Shake the can of Plasti Dip really well. You want the mixture to be nice and smooth. Then, hold the can about 6-8 inches away from the thing you're dipping. Press the nozzle and spray in a sweeping motion, kind of like you're painting. Make sure to overlap each pass a little bit to get even coverage.
Don't worry if it looks a bit thin at first. You can add more coats once the first one dries. It usually takes about 30 minutes to dry to the touch, but it's a good idea to wait a few hours before adding more coats.
If you mess up or don't like how it looks, don't panic! You can peel off Plasti Dip easily when it's dry. Just start at one edge and peel it away like a sticker.
Once you're happy with how it looks and it's completely dry, you're done! Enjoy your newly dipped stuff and show it off to your friends. Plasti Dip comes in lots of cool colours, so the possibilities are endless!
Removing Plasti Dip
Removing Plasti Dip is not as hard as it may seem. Plasti Dip is a rubber coating that people often use to change the color of their cars or other objects. Sometimes, though, you might want to remove it to reveal the original surface underneath. Here's how you can do it. First, you'll need some basic supplies. You'll need a Plasti Dip remover, which you can usually find at hardware stores or online. You'll also need some gloves to protect your hands and some old newspapers or a drop cloth to protect the area you're working in.
Start by making sure the surface you want to remove the Plasti Dip from is clean and dry. You don't want any dirt or grime getting in the way. Then, apply the Plasti Dip remover according to the instructions on the bottle. Usually, you'll spray it on and let it sit for a few minutes to work its magic. After the remover has had time to do its job, you can start peeling off the Plasti Dip. Depending on how thick the coating is, you might be able to peel it off in big chunks or small pieces. Just take your time and be patient – it might take a little bit of effort to get it all off.
If there are any stubborn bits of Plasti Dip that won't come off, you can try using a plastic scraper or even just your fingernails to gently scrape them away. Just be careful not to damage the underlying surface. Once you've removed all the Plasti Dip, give the area a good clean with some soap and water to remove any residue. Then, you're done! You should be left with a clean, bare surface ready for whatever you want to do next. Removing Plasti Dip might take a bit of time and effort, but with the right tools and a little bit of patience, it's definitely something you can do yourself. So don't be afraid to give it a go!
Maintaining Plasti Dip
Maintaining Plasti Dip is easy and important to keep your belongings looking fresh and protected. Whether you've dipped your car, tools, or other items, taking care of the Plasti Dip coating helps it last longer and stay vibrant.
Firstly, regular cleaning is key. Use a mild detergent and water to gently wash the dipped surface. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive tools that can damage the coating. A soft sponge or cloth works well for cleaning without scratching.
Inspect your Plasti Dip regularly for any signs of damage or wear. If you notice any peeling or areas where the coating is thinning, you can easily touch up those spots with more Plasti Dip. Make sure to clean and dry the area before applying new coats for better adhesion.
Protect your dipped items from extreme weather conditions whenever possible. Prolonged exposure to sunlight, rain, or snow can cause the Plasti Dip to degrade faster. Parking your car in a garage or using protective covers can help extend the life of the coating.
Avoid using petroleum-based products or gasoline near Plasti Dip, as these can cause it to dissolve or become sticky. If you accidentally spill such substances, clean the affected area immediately with soap and water to prevent damage.
Lastly, consider using Plasti Dip enhancers or top coats for added protection and shine. These products can help maintain the colour and finish of your dipped items while providing extra durability against scratches and fading.
By following these simple maintenance tips, you can ensure that your Plasti Dip stays looking great for a long time to come. Regular cleaning, inspection, protection from the elements, and gentle care will help preserve the integrity of the coating and keep your belongings looking their best.
Cost Considerations
Cost considerations are really important when you're thinking about money. It's all about thinking carefully about how much things cost and how they fit into your budget. When you're making decisions about what to buy or how to spend your money, it's smart to consider the costs involved. This helps you make sure you're not spending more money than you have or buying things you don't really need. One big part of cost considerations is comparing prices. This means looking at how much different things cost and deciding which one offers the best value for your money. Sometimes, you might find that something you want is cheaper at one store than at another. By comparing prices, you can make sure you're getting the best deal possible.
Another important thing to think about is whether you really need something. Sometimes, we see something we want and we think we have to have it right away. But it's a good idea to stop and ask ourselves if it's something we really need. Thinking about whether something is a necessity or just a want can help us make better decisions about where to spend our money. Budgeting is also a key part of cost considerations. A budget is like a plan for how you're going to spend your money. By creating a budget, you can make sure you have enough money for the things you need, like food and bills, while still having some left over for things you want. Budgeting helps you stay in control of your finances and avoid spending more money than you have.
Finally, it's important to think about the long-term costs of your decisions. Sometimes, something might seem cheap upfront, but end up costing you more money in the long run. For example, buying a cheap appliance might save you money at first, but if it breaks down quickly and you have to replace it, it could end up costing you more in the long term. Thinking about the long-term costs can help you make smarter decisions about how to spend your money. In conclusion, cost considerations are all about thinking carefully about how much things cost, comparing prices, deciding if you really need something, budgeting, and considering the long-term costs of your decisions. By taking these things into account, you can make sure you're making the best choices for your finances.

So I have a decorative corset that I got because I was told that it was underbust only for it to turn out to be a full length one. Is trying to go in and shorten it even an option? Ive always generally been taught that trying to alter even decorative corsets was a waste of time but since I don’t need to add or take away width, I was wondering if I might be able to go at it by cutting off the extra length at top, use some matching trim to hide that then shorten the zipper?
I’m not going to say that this is a bad idea.
However, when one is costume designing a show (which is my specialty), corset alterations are considered a no-win situation. When you’re working in theatre, time costs money, and the chances of throwing a lot of time into modding the height on a corset, and then having it not work out and prove to be a waste of money, is very high. (For the curious, there’s three theater cheats we use for this: Option A, we grab our local corset specialist to make a corset like the one we need. This is useful if the corset we need is likely to be used in many future shows and it’d be an investment to have in our stock. Assuming that you don’t have a local corset specialist contracted, Option B is to make a corset cover to be worn over a corset that’s the right shape but wrong color/style. Making a cheaper corset into a good corset-cover, and then carefully tacking the cover in place over an actual functional corset, is actually quite doable. Option C is to just buy a new corset. If you need corsets in your show, you need a big costume stock of existing corsets and some actual budget)
But, if you’re determined to do this, here’s my advice
Make a mockup first so that you know what height to cut
Take out all the boning before you do anything
Do your trimming and adjusting
Measure all your boning channels, cut your bones shorter one at a time, cap them (or round them or whatever you do. All the theaters I work at use plasti-dip, a product for coating tool handles, for boning caps, but no corset purist I’ve met does that), and add them back in
I have never been the local corset specialist for a theater, and since I just outlined the three ways that I don’t deal with corsets, that’s probably not the best of advice. Again, I won’t say don’t do it if you absolutely have no use for the corset as it, but I will say that if you like the corset how it is, do not attempt to shorten it.
But, if you only wear underbust corsets, and you have no use whatsoever for this corset at its current state, I’d suggest getting another underbust corset you like, and making this one into a corset cover. You get another corset out of that, too, so win-win

At the end of Dragoncon in 2018, I was talking with my friends about what we should cosplay for next year and the idea of punk Peach, Daisy, and Rosalina came up. As the months passed, I became more interested in doing an armor build but I also wanted it to be a group cosplay. So, that's how I got the idea of all of us doing armored peach, Dasiy, and Rosalina instead of the punk versions. I pitched the idea to my friends and they loved it. That night I started brainstorming, doing rough sketches and looking for inspiration. As I was doing my research a few cosplayers, @maliciouskcosplay and @hannaheva, inspired me. As well as the artist EdMoffatt on Deviant Art. Once I got the rough sketches done my friend @coffeesandrain (IG) cleaned it up, added a few details and digitalized it.
I made the armor with 6mm EVA foam and glued everything down with contact cement and super glue. the details around the gems, the blue shell, bullet bill belt buckle, earrings, and the Boo at the end of my sword I used foam-mo. My sword is made of three layers of 10mm EVA foam with a flattened out PVC pipe in the middle of it. I left maybe 10in. of the PVC pipe not flatted to be my grip. I primed all my foam pieces with plasti dip. The pink was spray paint and everything else was hand-painted with acrylic paints. The oval gems I sculpted out of clay, made a silicone molded, and resin cast. To change the color of the resin I just added food coloring to it. for the circle gems on my sword, my friend already had a circle silicone mold so she just made me those gems. To attach all my gems I just super glued them down. Getting all the armor to stay on my body I used an array of velcro and parachute buckles. For my big ponytail wig, I used @kinpatsucosplay's tutorial.
After I graduated college I was kinda lost. I was just like... what now? I was in this weird adjustment stage. I was so used to every second of my life being occupied with school to now having so much free time. I didn't know what to do with it. Cosplay helped fill that void. For critical insights, request for methodology @ https://www.persistencemarketresearch.com/methodology/19339
Key Takeaways from Market Study
Germany is one of the largest markets for in-mold coatings owing to strong presence of the automotive end-use sector in the country.
Water based in-mold coatings are expected to increase their market share due to shifting consumer base toward eco-friendly products.
The automotive industry is the largest consumer of in-mold coatings. Consistent growth of the automotive industry is expected to elevate demand over the decade.
High production cost associated with composite coatings and fluctuation in oil prices are factors expected to hinder market growth to some extent.
“Demand for in-mold coatings is estimated to be driven significantly by the automotive industry,” says a Persistence Market Research analyst.
Competitive Landscape
According to the Market Research analysis, Omnova Solutions Inc., Akzo Nobel N.V., Fujichem Sonneborn Limited, Adapta Color S.L., Emil Frei GmbH & Co. Kg, Kech Chimie, The Sherwin-Williams Company, Stahl Holdings B.V., Berlac Group, Rasching GmbH, Protech Powder Coatings Inc., Chromaflo Technologies, and Plasti Dip International are identified as key manufacturers of in-mold coatings.
Conclusion
Consistent growth in end-use industries such as automotive, building and construction, and transportation is elevating demand for in-mold coatings. However, coatings are mostly manufactured using solvents. Solvents are mostly derived from refinery operations and petrochemical feedstock.
The coating industry is a major consumer of petrochemical and non-petrochemical feedstock. With fluctuations in crude oil and gas prices, raw material cost also increases, and this will lead to reduction in the profit margins of in-mold coatings manufacturers.

Design Deep Dive: Mini-Witch Hat Fascinator
The "Design Deep Dive" miniseries explores some of the ideas and inspirations behind my different hat designs. This week I will be looking into one of my newest designs, the Witch Hat Fascinator. It has all the same wrinkles and curls you would come to expect from one of my hats, but on a smaller scale.
I'm definitely not a fashion expert, but the way I understand the whole idea of fascinators is that they are supposed to be a decorative alternative to a full-sized hat. People wear them when a hat would also make sense, but they are more like a fashion accessory than something functional, like something between a smaller hat and an oversized hair clip. I first started seeing all kinds of fascinators a few years ago when I was dabbling with steampunk inspired top hats. Lots of steampunk models were wearing these tiny little steamer top hats fastened on with hair pins or bands. They really caught my eye back then because they were a whole new kind of hat design that I could play with, and because they were so cute! Since my hats are decorative anyway, and not really functional, it also made sense to experiment with fascinators. At that time especially I was really looking to try all kinds of hats and not settle on just witch and wizard hats. But that was years ago and I still had a lot to learn. The few times I tried to make my own steampunk hat fascinators back then they came out looking more like fuzzy cups than mini-hats. There was no real interest for steampunk hats anyway, and I eventually I moved on.
But every year or so the idea of making a fascinator hat design would come back up, usually after spending awhile on Pinterest and seeing fascinator hats come up a bunch of times. Last year I took one of my first solid steps towards creating a fascinator witch hat since I first attempted fascinator hats years ago. Right after Halloween I was out at all the stores picking up discounted Halloween decorations, and I happened to come across this mini-felted witch hat. It was obviously machine-felted and mass produced, and I think it was meant for dolls and not necessarily to be put on someone's head like a fascinator, but it was just the right size. I also had an idea to turn it into a miniature hat block that I could use to shape witch hat fascinators. I bought it and took it home and then dunked the whole thing in Plasti-Dip, which is supposed to make it water proof and rubbery, perfect for shaping wet wool. But then the Holiday Season started up and I lost all track of my personal projects. My fascinator hat design would have to wait, and I put the rubber coated hat in my closet with the hope of getting back to it one day.
Finally things started to slow down for me and I was able to catch up with my 2017 orders. As the Summer started up I found that I had some time to experiment again and make hats that I wanted to make, just for fun and just to see what I could do. The results of that work are several one-of-a-kind and experimental hats that you can check out here. But I also pulled that rubberized hat block out of the closet and decided to finally give it a real solid try. Another reason my attention turned back to witch fascinator hats was that I have been getting lots of requests for smaller hats this season, sometimes for children or dolls or other reasons. My fascinator hats are not necessarily designed for children or dolls, but those requests kept the whole concept of mini-hats fresh in my mind. I sat down and began putting together prototypes, trying to figure out just how to create a miniature hat that still looked unique (and similar to the full-sized hats I already make). It took a couple of weeks of attempts before I finally got the design down.
If you are curious about what the final product is like check out the listing page, which has more details about the hat, the decoration options, and lots of extra photos. Instead of going with built-in hair clips to hold the hat in place I decided to go with a milliner-grade band. But you can hardly see the band as the pictures show, so I think the whole thing turned out well.
What do you think? Are fascinator hats interesting to you? What other uses are there for hats of this size?

Finally finished the big pieces and mirrored everything! Still need to do my belt, but once that is done I can begin the detail process (raised portions, battle scars) and get this thing plasti-dipped. The final product is going to be black, so I’m debating on if I will need to do any painting or if I’ll be done as soon as I put the plasti-dip on (and well, after I glue everything together)!
After everything is glued I might make some more pieces to fill in any annoying gaps that I might see in the armor, but I need to hurry up and finish this project so I can get started on the main cosplay piece for my next convention!
#cosplay wip#wip#work in progress#cosplay#secret cosplay#it's pretty easy to guess what it is but I aint tagging it until it's done
