Gotta get back into drawing as I have recently been commissioned for a dnd thing after a long drawing hiatus, and now I'm looking for something fun to dip a toe in with -
Do you mind if I jump on the lore train and try my hand at drawing you and/or your stream wisps? (I haven't actually been able to catch any streams yet because of timezones -.-)
Also props to ravio for the inspiring art!!! :D
Uh - YES??? Of course??? I'd be honored ohmygosh.
If you need a reference for my online persona my MC skin is fairly close! (Though admittedly my hair is shorter pffft.) I'm pretty sure I've posted a commissioned sketch of her too, so if you look under the Pixiemage Gaming tag it shooouuuld be there? Or just ask hah, either way 😋
Ravio does doodle some fantastic stuff from streams lmao, there's some GREAT moments in their art!

Fulgrazier are active at night and use their hollow foreheads to communicate; varying the size and intensity of the flames they emit to articulate different thoughts and feelings. Should they be disturbed they will immediately snuff out their lights, being quite shy and secretive, despite their flashy communication. Fulgoberon are secretive and solitary, not mingling much with even their own kind. Although quite small, they are formidable when crossed and in fits of rage may even burn down their forest homes completely. The flames they emit from their heads vary in size and shape, seemingly tailored to an individuals personal tastes. --Attack Info-- --Ability Info--

The purported Piskey Queen, Joan the Wad.
While its likely she didn't originally start out as fairy royalty, her current position is well-established in the tourism and trinket business.

What if I worked on Amnesia Tango Au and take a bit to write a few chapters and post them once a week and maybe some oneshots with Tango re-learning the world and maybe some ranchers being ranchers to eachother and cheddar the Creeper sprout appears and fluffy oneshots to make up for the angst of the main fic.

Alright, so, if I were to hypothetically make a Prime Defenders x Pixie Hollow AU, what do you think the Prime Defenders and Prime Force would be a part of? Hypothetically, of course.

Fairies have been victims of forced displacement for years, due to the advancements of technology and invasion of human. Curses and magic protection spells haven’t been enough to prevent the destruction of fairy homes.
The tiniest, usually tree protectors, have found themselves in the care of bigger fairies in order to be able to travel. Pixies, Devas and Will O’ Wisps have travelled along Tylwyth Tegs, Mouras and Gianes.
Salamanders have found themselves divided between enjoying the care of human animal lovers and breaking havoc setting fires. The biggest fires have not been their fault though, because humans have destroyed the ozone layer enough to cause their own. This has also caused debates within the salamander community.

Criaturas - Cornualha
Tumblr media
Will o’ the wisp: Will o' the wisp (Uilou uisp) é uma fada iluminada que desvia pessoas de seu caminho. Tem a aparência de uma pequena bola de fogo ou uma lâmpada piscando. Aparece no filme Valente e em português chama-se Fogo-fátuo.

Not sure how it's a mystery why Alfred knows about Selkie.
He is British.
A lot of us know about the Fae, sure, not everyone, but a lot of us. We might not know that the legends qualify as fae, but we know of them.
It may not be as common in main cities, but the British isles are filled with stories about the Fae. Especially in the countryside or the seaside, and other places the Fae were believed to gather.
And the older a brit is, the more likely they are to have heard of the Fae.
Alfred would likely be no stranger to the legends, and he would know Danny holds no ill intent (only a desire for mischief, but that's normal for benevolent Fae)
Alfred, well versed in the old wives tales of ghost dogs who guide the dead to the afterlife and protect cemeteries (church Grimm's), of spirits who wail in morning for deaths they can predict but not prevent (banshees), of mischievous childlike sprites who dance and wrestle through the night (pixies) and of people who can shift between the forms of a human and a seal (of course, selkies), would accept the newest charge just like any other.
Alfred knows of the fae
And he knows how to show them a warm welcome.
Prompt 122
“Have you met Seal Hood?”
Dick paused almost mid-jump, having apparently turned to the wrong channel but also changed to the perfect one too. At least, perfect in the fact that he had just overheard an interesting thing from Jason, apparently forgetting that his comm was in fact on still.
Damian must have answered, because Jason snorted a laugh. “You can try getting him to leave, he’s taken over my bathtub and keeps eating all my food.”
Hold up, was- Dick had thought Jason was talking about a plush or something, but was he talking about a literal living animal seal??
“I’ll have you know I’m not going to make a poor little baby seal leave, and I’m not putting him in a zoo, brat.”
Oh Gotham, it was a real living animal seal. Dick about faced, rushing towards Jason’s safehouse. How did he get a seal? Why was it in his bathtub?? Why hadn’t he called the proper people for this sort of thing?! He had to get to the safehouse now to see this shit.

If you were to make up fae courts besides the standard ones(Seelie/Unseelie and seasons for example), what would you choose? I was thinking of this cause A Court Of Fey and Flowers(the dimension 20 series) had a bunch of them(court of Craft, Wonder, Seafoam, Goblins, etc) and I thought it'd be a cool prompt.
What a fun question! I have so many complicated feelings about fairy courts and I honestly loved Dimension 20's approach! Because what by now is seen as "the standard courts" (Seelie/Unseelie, Summer/Winter, Light/Dark) are all quite modern inventions. So it really doesn't take anything away from the faerie of it all to change them.
I'd actually like to go one step further: if I was making fairy courts, I'd make them small, and local. Because I personally think that vibes better with the folktales that I know.
The concept of fairy courts is primarily based on Scottish folklore. But it was common practice there to call fairies "seelie" far before they were ever described as "unseelie". Which makes sense, because you wouldn't want to offend the fae. (Apparently in the Scots language "court" could also just mean "group" or "company", which would make "seelie court" not unlike "fair folk".)
On top of that - although there are definitely mentions of fairy queens and kings, especially in ballads - many Celtic folktales refer to a specific group of fairies living together in one mound as a "court" without implying that this is The Court that controls all other fairies. Their leader is sometimes called king or queen, but sometimes just lady or lord. And this concept shows up in Germanic folklore too, with elves and dwarves and witte wieven.
So if I was to make up fairy courts for a story they'd be very specific:
The Alder Court
The Wetland Court
The Court of Crown Hill
And those would probably just be the human names for them. The members of the court would be more likely to introduce themselves as "follower of my lady queen, ruler of all under the hill."
Alternatively, if I was going full secret urban fantasy world, I'd probably align the courts with the specific type of fae. (Which is an impossible task, but in urban fantasy you can pick and choose as you like.) So there'd be a Brownie Court, a Pixie Court, a Court of Wisps, etc. And all fae belong to that court, though spread far and wide, would answer to that ruler. I think that would be very fun, especially for the types of fae who deal a lot with humans.
