Scrat Of Ice Age! (Piskel)

Sprinkles: Bark! Bark! (Today's theme is the Ice Age, for those who have already watched this films, you know very well this mascot of the film called Scrat, who is the squirrel that always gets into trouble, in fact he creates problems when he buries his nut in the snow, fortunately in 2022, 20 years after the Ice Age, Scrat decided to eat his own nut instead of putting it in the snow!)

(And guys, I will say that it only took me 2 days to make this animation in Pixel Art, it was not very easy, it was a lot of work to make Scrat's texture, I hope you like my art style about Scrat from the Ice Age and also for those who saw the Ice Age in their childhood!)

Happy 39th Anniversary to Super Mario Bros.!

"It's-a me, Mario!" Today is the 39th anniversary of one of the most influential video games of all time, being none other than Nintendo's 1985 platforming game, Super Mario Bros.! Originally released in Japan back on September 13, 1985, it was later brought over to the US in late 1985 (stated to be October by Nintendo, although a few testimonies state otherwise), and in Europe in 1987. It was a smash hit and became the NES/Famicom's "killer app". I mean, it's impressive how they were able to code a side-scrolling platformer for the Famicom, back when the system was full of one-screen games, and cram everything onto a 40-kilobyte ROM. Oh, and for that Mario jumping sprite, I used an amiibo of Classic Mario I have as a reference.

K9 In Art Pixel Animation! (Minecraft)

Sprinkles: Bark! Bark! (I remember that when I was a child in 2017 to 2020, I played Battle Minecraft on the Wii U and I always used that K9 skin from Docto Who and to be honest, I never watched Docto Who, I only knew he was from that show because of videos and that unfortunately, k9 had his last appearance in 2010, but later he was added as the docto who skin and it was the skin I used most to battle with other players, many of them use the normal size skin and I use the small one, of course, the others use the small one, but I would never change my skin for others, well sometimes but I always go back with it, there were one or two in which all the players focused on me because I won all the time or because I had the very stolen skin that was k9 himself, but I always won and sometimes I lost and my record per battle, once it was 118 kills, an ultra absurd result in Wii U and my favorite weapon is that bow with strength V , which can scare and confuse the player when you hit it just once, I was very MTFCK, literally, Ahhhh, I miss this time!)

Wanted to post the Scolipede timelapse closer to when I finish my next sprite, but that's been taking a while and idk if I'm gonna have the motivation to write about this then.

I started out with a different body shape:

Not really sure why I abandoned it… Oh! because partway through I decided to find a model of Scolipede and I positioned it and used that as a reference! I kinda wish I would've found a reference of a horse or a dog or something similarly-shaped in a cool pose and used that instead, because what I got was maybe a little too close to the reference. Some of my favorite stuff I've made has been by using an animal reference alongside a pokemon reference.

Like, uhh, Jolteon… Mienfoo and Mienshao did too… and my next sprite (I'll talk about that when the time comes, I'm liking it!). I'd like to use references more.

Despite my nitpicks, I still really like how this one came out! I'm getting pretty good with making a rough shape and then chiseling out a more defined shape from there. Maybe I still spend too much time on little details, but oh well.

Idk if it comes across, but in my recent work I've been trying to let- how do I write this? Idk! Something with the- with the outlines! Uhh… like the, idk, but it makes things look better and I'm proud of getting better at it. "Trade secret," lmao!!!
