so the MCU Red Daggers:
a) based all over the world, but seem to be centered in South Asia. b) trying to stop a dimension from pouring into their own through spacetime even tho c) they seem to have only normal weapons and tech, though some may be a little advanced and also d) despite their fight against the Noor dimension, they have no problem working with people who use Noor powers/tech or have Noor ancestry.
Also since the Red Daggers Kareem introduces her to (im assuming the teens at the bonfire were other Red Daggers tho that's conjecture) are p young, and also the way that they knew the Clandestine Ayesha had the bangle but weren't aware that it had since been handed to Sana - the one who actually was in Karachi - implies they had a pretty big base in India and might still have it.
Where am I going with all this?? So. You know who would be the perfect fit. For a young South Asian kid with spacetime powers that the Red Daggers would want on their side bc he basically let's them warp all over the world with less than a thought???
Tumblr media
QURESHI GUPTA.
The man. The myth. The legend. The twelve year old whose name I absolutely fucking hate bc it's a family name not a given name but it finally makes sense it's bc his parents weren't from EARTH-
Anyways skipping away to write fics where the Red Daggers are dealing with the ripple effects of all the jump points leaving the Noor unstable and giving a random kid powers and Kamran empathizing with him even as he uncovers a conspiracy about the Noor dimension and it's escapees-

Old'ish drawing of Pinpoint
6 notes · View notes
Text
Evolution of my oldest TFA OC Pinpoint. I think the first drawing was made sometime in 2016/2017, the second 2020/2021 (maybe even early 2022???) and the newest one was just finished today, 2023. It's funny to see how much I've changed during the years
Looking at the design now, a lot of stuff has changed compared to how he originally looked (I finally gave up on those feet, they just didn't work) and the color scheme is nearly completely different. Still, it's Pinpoint, and I still love him as much as I did back then.

Pierced
Written for @flashfictionfridayofficial for the 226 prompt, Pinpoint
Pierced
What type of love is this?
A love that sacrifices His own life
For a disreputable lot like us?
Pierced, His Word says
For our transgressions
But so much more than pierced
So much more than a pinprick
Flesh torn down to His muscles
Beard torn out
Carrying a heavy board
Down the way of sorrows
Even before the first nail pierced His flesh
Staring down at the crowd
Out for His blood
The same crowd
Or at least partially
That was singing
Save us to Him
Five days before
Oh if they only knew
That is exactly what He was doing
Bruised and battered
Forgiving them
Even as He died for them
For all of us
A pinpoint in time
That changed all
From before Christ
To in the year of our Lord
Changed time
Changed everything
For all time.

A Bigga Pizza Pie
I have long loved maps. Actually, I stared at maps longer than I could read, no doubt fueled by parents who enjoyed road tripping, and a grandfather who loved to regale me with stories of travel. I wanted to see where all of this was happening, and back then, it involved fold-out maps.
My students are probably all too young to remember these. You see, gas stations once handed out free fold-up maps, the kind that seemingly never folded back the way they were intended, and could fill a kitchen table once unfurled. Gas stations quit doing these, because even though they were handy branded reminders, they cost money to make. If we use paper maps at all these days, it is by way of an atlas we bought at Walmart for $7.
More likely, though, we use Google Maps, Waze, or Apple Maps. And if there is any app with which I feel a lasting affinity, it is Google Maps. My returning students this term can tell you I have written of it before, because I organize my entire life around Google Maps, not just to navigate from Point A to Point B, but more importantly to create custom maps that aggregate the objects and places of my desire.
These range from the thousands of vintage neon signs I have shot around the country—plus those still to be shot—to the 1920s-era concrete navigation arrows I have chased, long-abandoned segments of Route 66, and roadside attractions. I press the pin on my map, and the navigation begins.
It’s about time that a company started leveraging our propensity to use digital mapping to be able to deliver the goods, and Dominos has done just that. With their new Pinpoint delivery, they will now happily deliver your pizza to wherever you are. It builds on the Hotspots program launched five years ago, which delivered to 150,000 non-traditional locations, meaning those without an actual address. Now you can presumably be just about anywhere.
Tumblr media
Well, maybe not atop a Colorado 14er, but you get the idea. In a softball tournament at John Stiff Park in Amarillo? Bam. Cadillac Ranch? Why not? The buffalo statue in the center of the WT campus? Absolutely.
Of course, there are some limitations, the biggest being you still have to at least reasonably be within their normal delivery area. Dominos isn’t going to drive 100 miles up the country to find you while hitting the trail.
Still, this is a breath of fresh air, because hunger happens organically, and not always when you just happen to be at a fixed address that Google can find via basic directory information. But a pin carries GPS coordinates with it, the lat and long of it all. For example, that statues in the middle of the fountain on campus is at 34.98195896397602, -101.91588813049329. Precisely. As in sitting on the dang buffalo. Next time students organize a protest or something, they can have their lunch delivered.
Dominos has a stellar history of leveraging technology, ranging from those earlier Hotspots to autonomous delivery cars. They know that pizza is more than just food, but an artifact of the American lifestyle. So why not make it available when and where life is happening?
Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Of course, while this is genius, it will not be hard to replicate. I suspect that other QSR (that’s quick service restaurants) copy this one, as well as third-party apps like DoorDash and UberEats. And it truly is simple, as simple as sharing your Google Map route with someone else so they can monitor your trip and know exactly how long they have to finish cleaning the apartment. Ahem. I’m thinking of you, Oldest Daughter.
Almost makes you want to order a pizza for breakfast.

The 5 Most Normal Things I Could Find In That Death Stranding 2 Trailer
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/the-5-most-normal-things-i-could-find-in-that-death-stranding-2-trailer/
The 5 Most Normal Things I Could Find In That Death Stranding 2 Trailer
Tumblr media
Death Stranding 2: On The Beach’s latest trailer is aggressively bizarre. In 9 minutes and 40 seconds, the video assaults us with talking stop-motion puppets, sentient gloves wrapped around people’s necks, throat babies vomiting out spaceships, a samurai that sounds like an infant, and somehow, Higgs returned.
It’s so densely packed with weird stuff that, upon repeat viewings, I actually had to go out of my way to pinpoint anything remotely mundane. In a humorous turn of events, Death Stranding 2 is so overwhelmingly odd that every eye-brow-raising visual element is par for the course. Anything that isn’t a black oil-covered tube baby with a hilariously literal moniker voiced by Troy Baker is now the minority and, in turn, the “weird” stuff. They’re not easy to spot, so I took the liberty of doing it for you. Here are all the normal/boring/remarkably tame elements the trailer has to offer.
Fragile’s Water Bottle
Tumblr media
Fragile uses this bottle to clean the tar off a mysterious person, which was encased in a cocoon-like shell early in the trailer. She might have filled it with water mixed with some dish soap. Maybe Dawn, since the commercials say they’re good for cleaning oil spill victims. I was waiting for the straw to do the macarena or for babies to pour out of it instead of water, but since neither happened (yet), that makes it a refreshingly dull liquid delivery device.
Guns
Tumblr media
It’s kind of surprising that weapons are relatively conventional in this strange universe (poop grenades aside). Combat was my least favorite aspect of Death Stranding, so I’m not thrilled to see that Sam is still packing enough heat to take down an army of ink monsters. I look forward to not using them as often as possible; I need more room to carry my boxes, anyway.
Trees
Tumblr media
The phrase “If trees could talk” has never resonated more than now. I would love their commentary on what it felt like watching the U.S. deteriorate from “It’s pretty weird here” to “We don’t even know if we occupy the same plane of existence anymore, God help us.”
Wall Pipe
Tumblr media
Perhaps the most memorable moment of this trailer is when Higgs (who now resembles The Crow if he were a Cyberpunk 2077 character) uses his electric guitar sword thing to battle an imposing samurai who makes baby noises. You were probably too busy absorbing all of that nonsense to notice this perfectly regular wall pipe that just wants to do normal pipe things and not get involved in this foolishness.
Cooking Pan
Tumblr media
Given the close-up this pan gets, I’m honestly surprised it wasn’t used as a branding opportunity. Maybe some fan has already magnified the image to reveal an OD release date carved on the pan’s bottom. If not, though, the pan itself seems uninteresting; what Sam is cooking with it, though, remains in question. He’s probably sauteeing those weird floating worm things.
That’s it. That’s all I could find. I can’t trust anything else in this game because everything is weird and probably has a baby inside of it. That desert? Likely a baby. The giant moon? It’s alive and probably has Mads Mikkelsen’s face on the other side of it (Kojima will name him something cheeky like “Majora’s Mads” or something). The floating soldiers represent every celebrity Kojima has lured into his studio’s body-scanning machine; their souls are now trapped within the strand. We have to free them.
I don’t know what Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is. Hell, I still can’t confidently explain Death Stranding 1, and I finished it. I just know that, whatever it winds up being, I really, really want to play it.

which of the champions team members who haven't had a solo series do you think should get one? for me it's amka. she is such an interesting character, and i would *kill* for her to get a solo run :D
hmm Amka is def on my top picks too. Would Viv's part in the Visions count as a solo run? Well, it doesn't matter anyway, bc I adore Fernanda Rodriguez. The Locust is an exciting character, and the concept of someone looking out for runaways has a lot of potential.
There's also Pinpoint. And ohhh my goddd Pinpoint. He is a thorn in my side. He haunts me. His first name (Qureshi) IS A FAMILY NAME MARVEL WHY DID U DO THIS. Anyways I think he would be fun to read a solo series abt. No not because his dress and speech suggests he lives permanently somewhere in South Asia (prolly India) and I want more rep of the places I live. What're you talking about. I would never.
