Hamas didn’t invade Israel on Oct. 7 for its amusement. The barbaric sneak attack is a part of the pogrom intended to wipe out the Jewish state. It was a crime against humanity, and not just because of its savagery. We would all be worse off if Israel ceased to exist. The same cannot be said for Islamic terrorists.
Israel’s contributions to the modern world are momentous. When not dodging bullets, rockets, and homicide bombers, Israelis have since 1948 developed:
Copaxone and Rebif, drugs that treat multiple sclerosis, and Exelon, which treats mild to moderate dementia in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s patients.
The PillCam, “a minimally invasive ingestible camera in a capsule that allows visualization of the small bowel.”
The water desalination process.
The Sniffphone, “that can actually sniff out’ diseases.”
And SpineAssist, “the first-ever spine robot” that has the “ability to provide real-time intraoperative navigation.”
The Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel, responsible for some of the inventions listed above, has also produced diabetes and flu vaccines, is using T-cells to treat damaged spines, and is a pioneer in industrial — and medical — uses nano materials.
Other impactful Israeli products include drip irrigation, a revolutionary microprocessor called the 8088, the NIR heart stent, voice-over-internet protocol, the USB flash drive, the Waze navigation app, ReWalk, “a commercial bionic walking assistance system,” and “the first commercially viable firewall software.”
Our own security has benefited from Israel’s labor and work ethic.
“Many Israeli innovations are present in upgrades to U.S. Air Force fighters and Army equipment,” says the international law firm Smith, Gambrell & Russell. One important advance in particular is the helmet-mounted display system for the new F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.
So we have a country of 9.23 million, mostly desert, that is only 75 years old, is “surrounded by enemies” and in a constant state of war, which has “no natural resources,” yet “produces more start-up companies on a per capita basis than large, peaceful, and stable nations and regions like Japan, China, India, Korea, Canada, and all of Europe.” It is the only nation outside of the U.S. that Warren Buffet invests in.
Have the Palestinians or Hamas, currently at war with Israel, done anything that compares to what the Israelis have achieved? More broadly, beyond the Allahista terrorist groups, what has Islam contributed to the modern world?
Not much.
Since 1901, Jews, who total 0.2% of the world’s population, have won 189 Nobel prizes for physics, medicine, chemistry and economics. Over that same period, Muslims, who make up nearly a quarter of the global population, have won four.
If it seems as Islamic groups, Hamas and Hezbollah prominent among them, are more interested in spreading nihilism, committing atrocities, and destroying civilization than making the world a better place, well, then there’s a good reason for it. That is exactly what the heroes of an increasingly large number foolish Westerners are aiming for.
Meanwhile, Israelis see themselves “as having a role in the world to repair the world,” says Chemi Peres, managing partner and co-founder of the venture capital firm Pitango, chairman of the Peres Center for Peace and Innovation, and son of the late Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres.
“We call it tikkun olam, and here at the Peres Center we have a mission statement, which is to introduce innovation and new ideas and new technologies, not only for ourselves but to solve the problems of the world.”
Islam is part of that world, but too many of its adherents live to do just the opposite.

“From the river to the sea…”
Let’s talk about such a scenario in which Israel is erased.
7:00 a.m.: You wake up and try to unlock your iPhone to read email, but it won’t unlock.
Why? Because Face ID is Israeli tech. It was invented by PrimeSense, and acquired by Apple.
7:30 a.m.: Before heading to work, you go into your garden to make sure your grass is being watered.
Nope, can’t use drip irrigation. That’s an Israeli invention.
8:00 a.m.: You get into your car and try to turn on Waze so you can know where there is traffic.
It won’t open because Waze is Israeli.
8:30 a.m.: On the way to work, you almost lose control of your car because it didn’t notify you that you were swerving out of your lane.
That’s because Mobileye is based in Jerusalem.
9:00 a.m.: “Fine,” you say to yourself, “I don’t need Waze or Mobileye anyway. Soon my car will be autonomous.”
Nope. Innoviz is Israeli.
9:30 a.m.: You get to work and get ready to have your first meeting on Microsoft Teams. It won’t work.
All the AI on Teams? Built in Herzliya.
10:00 a.m.: You try to use your USB thumb drive on your computer. No go.
Thumb drives (a.k.a. flash drives or memory sticks) were invented by Dov Moran at Msystems, and acquired by SanDisk.
11:00 a.m.: You need to access some classified information but it’s behind a firewall. No way around it.
Firewall technology? Invented in Israel.
12:00 p.m.: You look out your office window and the sky is so beautiful, you want to take a photo.
Nope. Smartphone dual lens technology was invented by Israeli company Corephotonics.
1:00 p.m.: You have a lot of work to do. You fire up your PC but it won’t boot up.
Is it running on an Intel processor? Oh, yeah, that was designed in Israel.
2:00 p.m.: You’re getting really frustrated. Nothing is working! So you turn to Google, but even that won’t work.
Google builds many of its products in Tel Aviv.
3:00 p.m.: You decide to FaceTime your wife to vent your frustrations. Why won’t it work?!
Because voice over IP was invented in Israel.
3:30 p.m.: You’re really losing patience, so you go to your favorite instant messenger program to speak to a friend.
Nope, instant messaging was invented in Israel.
4:00 p.m.: You give up and decide to focus on work exclusively – you need to build a website.
Sorry, Wix is Israeli. You can’t use it.
5:00 p.m.: You get a call from your doctor. He wants you to come in because he saw something troubling in your last check-up. He wants to use the PillCam.
You have to inform him that’s a no-go. That’s Israeli tech.
6:00 p.m.: Since your car is unreliable, you decide to take public transportation. But your Moovit app won’t load for some reason.
It’s Israeli.
6:30 p.m.: You decide to do some shopping for a new car because it’s time to go electric.
Sorry. Better Place CEO Shai Agassi pioneered the infrastructure for electric cars in 2012.
7:00 p.m.: You get a call with bad news – your relative was recently diagnosed with cancer. He needs your help finding the best treatment.
Unfortunately, you can’t help him because many of the leading cancer treatments were developed in Israel by companies like Novocure and Vascular Biogenics.
8:00 p.m.: You’ve had a hard day and just want to chill out in front of your social media feeds. But none of your feeds will load.
Meta, parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, has many offices in Israel.
9:00 p.m.: Time for a late dinner. You want to prepare alternative meats or dairy products.
Your supermarket doesn’t sell them, however, because Redefine Meat and Remilk are Israeli startups.
10:30 p.m.: You decide to read your book, but you can’t find your glasses anywhere.
That’s because you bought them on GlassesUSA, an Israeli company.
11:00 p.m.: Your last resort: Watch some TV. Wait – your Samsung TV won’t turn on!
Samsung has many offices in Israel, including Samsung Next, a fund that invests in tech.
You go to sleep and hope tomorrow will be a better day.
Here, try this new rhyme instead: “From the river to the sea, if Israel is gone, what will be with me?!”

Due to circumstances involving responsibility, I think I’m gonna have to take like a month off writing after I get this next chapter of Purpose of Heritage up on 9/29, and I’m so annoyed about this but honestly, I have a work conference out of state in a city that I know is going to exhaust me and then I have to go car shopping and I really need my home to not be an entire disaster and the class I’m in isn’t particularly easy and somewhere in there I also have to meet with my dietitian, have some sort of scans done of part of my GI tract, and, as long as said scans are good, do a pillcam study, which is a whole thing. So, like, this isn’t a Curse of the AO3 Author type of disaster, but it’s five trillion things that can’t be delegated to anyone else.
Anyway, I’d rather tell people they won’t hear from me for well over a month and pop up unexpectedly early rather than stressing myself out. But I would legitimately rather be writing than doing any of the aforementioned tasks, so I’m mildly annoyed.

Return Of The People
In that day
“I will restore David’s fallen shelter—     I will repair its broken walls     and restore its ruins—     and will rebuild it as it used to be, 12 so that they may possess the remnant of Edom     and all the nations that bear my name,” declares the Lord, who will do these things.
13 “The days are coming,” declares the Lord,
“when the reaper will be overtaken by the plowman     and the planter by the one treading grapes. New wine will drip from the mountains     and flow from all the hills, 14     and I will bring my people Israel back from exile.
“They will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them.     They will plant vineyards and drink their wine;     they will make gardens and eat their fruit. 15 I will plant Israel in their own land,     never again to be uprooted     from the land I have given them,”
says the Lord your God.
Amos 9 begins with God declaring the destruction of Israel and indeed it did happen thanks to the Chaldeans, Assyrians, and Babylonians. The nation of Israel was in all essence gone. Her people scattered over the world in Iran (Formerly Babylon), Turkey, Europe, Russia, and Ethiopia. Yet God in 1948 reestablished Israel and as predicted, the nation was born in a day.
Isaiah 66:9-
Who has ever heard of such a thing? Who has ever seen such things? Can a country be born in a day or a nation be brought forth in a moment? Yet no sooner is Zion in labor than she gives birth to her children.9Do I bring to the moment of birth and not give delivery?" says the LORD.
Israel since then has been flourishing. The desert has become green and productive. The world has been blessed through Israel- Multiple discoveries in math, physics, medicine, biotechnology, computer science, economics, agriculture, and chemistry.
Pillcam by Given Imaging, the first Capsule Endoscopy solution to record images of the digestive tract.
The Nanowire- a conductive wire made of a string of tiny particles of silver, a thousand times thinner than a human hair.
The Copaxone immunomodulator drug for treating multiple sclerosis.
Smartphone dual lens technology, by Israeli company Corephotonics
The Intel 8088 – This microprocessor, designed at Intel's Haifa laboratory, powered the first PC that IBM built which is credited with kickstarting the PC revolution
The Tomaccio cherry tomato
The Wonder Pot
The list can go on and on. God promises that He will never uproot Israel again. Since Israel was reestablished, the Arab nations around Israel have attacked over and over- examples- 1948–49, 1956, 1967, 1973, 1982, 2006, and 2023–present. Yet despite being outnumbered and many times unsupported, the Arab nations have not been able to defeat the Israeli nation. Even the latest attack by Hamas in October in which over 1500 civilians were killed including infants and children. Woman were brutally raped and tortured with objects before being killed. Over 100 hostages were taken- many of whom still have not been returned. Since then Israel has been at war with Hamas despite the criticism of the world and the protests of college students.
But is the reestablishment of Israel what this verse solely means? After all the Bible often has many layers of meaning. Acts 15 - James- Jesus brother is speaking in defense of the Gentiles. Some Jewish converts to Christianity are demanding that the Gentile converts be circumcised. James quotes this verse in defense.
And with this the words of the prophets agree, just as it is written, “‘After this I will return, and I will rebuild the tent of David that has fallen; I will rebuild its ruins, and I will restore it, that the remnant of mankind may seek the Lord, and all the Gentiles who are called by my name, says the Lord, who makes these things (Acts 15:15-18). The original verse talked about
Edom and all the nations that bear my name- this refers to all the people of the world. Israel of course because God declarers-
“Thus says the Lord: If you can break my covenant with the day and my covenant with the night, so that day and night will not come at their appointed time, then also my covenant with David my servant may be broken, so that he shall not have a son to reign on his throne, and my covenant with the Levitical priests my ministers. As the host of heaven cannot be numbered and the sands of the sea cannot be measured, so I will multiply the offspring of David my servant, and the Levitical priests who minister to me.”
Is this verse then about Jesus returning to establish His kingdom here on earth?
Afflicted city, lashed by storms and not comforted,     I will rebuild you with stones of turquoise,     your foundations with lapis lazuli. 12 I will make your battlements of rubies,     your gates of sparkling jewels,     and all your walls of precious stones. 13 All your children will be taught by the Lord,     and great will be their peace. 14 In righteousness you will be established: Tyranny will be far from you;     you will have nothing to fear. Terror will be far removed;     it will not come near you. (Isaiah 54 11-14)
Revelation 21:18-19 tells us that the new Jerusalem will have - The wall was made of jasper, and the city itself of pure gold, as pure as glass. The foundations of the city walls were adorned with every kind of precious stone:
The New Jerusalem will come down after the defeat of Satan and the Great White throne Judgement has been completed. This is when all believers, from all around the world, from every century since Adam and Eve will reside forever with Jesus. Jeremiah predicted this in 600 BC- almost three thousand years ago.
“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called: ‘The Lord is our righteousness.’ (Jeremiah 23:5,6).
Revelation also talks about Jesus eternal reign- And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying: “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man, and He will dwell with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God. ‘He will wipe away every tear from their eyes,’ and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.”
But woe to those who did not believe- But to the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and sexually immoral and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their place will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. This is the second death.”

Jewish geography is a verbal “game” Jewish people play.
Usually, it is initiated when one or more Jewish people are introduced or, without formal introduction, meet for the first time. Typically, the conversations start with the topic of what each person does and then progresses to where each is from.
Jewish geography is thus initiated.
As soon as a familiar location is mentioned, the question is posed : “do you know so and so”?
More often than not  a match is made.  Exclamations follow, and shared memories are happily exchanged. As illogical as the odds seem, one must remember that the number of Jews worldwide, living today, is minuscule. The Earth is currently populated by approximately 8.1 billion people. Jews make up a paltry 15 million souls of the 8.1 billion or 2/10 of 1% of 8.1 billion inhabitants worldwide!  Earth is comprised of ninety-six million nine hundred miles: approximately 71% is covered in water. In drastic contrast, Israel, the historic homeland of the Jewish people possess a mere eight thousand,  nine hundred square miles, which equals 1/2 of 100th of a percentage of the earth, and of which approximately 172 square miles are inland water.  Approximately seven million two hundred thousand Jews live in Israel. About seven million live in the United States. The remaining Jews live in Europe, and small groups live in non-Muslim countries. Where and what is the logic of the rabid urge to destroy a people that comprise a measly 2/10 of 1% of global population and whom own 1/10 of 1% of global land?  Especially when the world has benefited so much from Jewish people. For example, from 1901 through 2023, Jews with at least one Jewish parent have won 22% of all Nobel prizes.  Also, in the past 100 years, Jews and Israelis have created many amazing products - from life-saving to fun.  These include, but are not limited to:  the sewing machine, ballpoint pen , instant cameras, mobile phones, cameras  in mobile phones, television remotes, model electric trains, barcodes, lasers , shopping carts, walkie talkies, USB flash drives, antibiotics, UZI  machine guns, nuclear submarines, the Iron Dome, the exoskeleton to help paralyzed people walk, flexible stents, cardiac defibrillators,  pressure bandages to stop bleeding prehospitalization -- known as the “Israeli bandage,” pillcams - the cameras in a capsule to diagnose internal ailments, Waze navigation systems and MobileEye for vehicles, drip irrigation to make a desert bloom, water desalinization, Google, aspirin, Prozac, Valium, SodaStream, and the Teddy Bear.  So, what’s not to like?

5:00 PM. You get a call from your doctor. He wants you to come in because he saw something troubling in your last check-up. He needs to use the PillCam. You have to inform him that’s a no-go. It’s Israeli tech.
6:00 PM: Since your car is unreliable, you decide to take public transportation. Your Moovit app won’t load for some reason. It’s Israeli.
6:30 PM: You decide to do some shopping for a new car because it’s time to go electric. Sorry, nope. Better Place CEO Shai Agassi pioneered the infrastructure for electric cars in 2012.
7:00 PM: You get a call with bad news, your relative was recently diagnosed with cancer. Unfortunately, you can’t help him because many of the leading cancer treatments were developed in Israel by companies like Novocure and Vascular Biogenics.
8:00 PM: You’ve had a hard day and you just want to chill out in front of your social media feeds but all of your feeds won’t load. Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, has many offices in Israel.
9:00 PM: A late dinner. You want to prepare alternative meats or dairy products. You can’t find them in the supermarket because Redefine Meat and Remilk are Israeli startups.
10:30 PM: You decide to read your book. You can’t find your glasses anywhere. That’s because you bought them on GlassesUSA, an Israeli company.
11:00 PM: Your last resort, watching some TV. Your Samsung TV won't turn on! Well, that’s because Samsung has many offices in Israel including Samsung
Next, a fund that invests in tech. You go to sleep and hope tomorrow will be a better day.
Here, try this new rhyme instead: “From the river to the sea, if Israel is gone, what will be with me?!”

In case you’ve never seen one of these, here you go!! I’ve heard they’ve gotten smaller over the years which is good because it takes a lot of water for me to wash this horse pill down! 😝 • To my knowledge I have not passed it yet, but no worries yet as you have to clean out for the procedure anyways.🤷🏻‍♀️ • Technology is cool sometimes I guess! 😝😎 . . . . . . . #crohns #crohnsdisease #crohnswarrior #crohnsandcolitis #crohnsawareness #colitis #ulcerativecolitis #pillcam #endoscopy #ibd #ibdawareness #ibdwarrior #spoonie #chronicillness #invisibleillness #ibdsuperheroes #friendswithcrohns https://www.instagram.com/p/B2-um0fA6vT/?igshid=x5c9ep4m310n
