Id love to see a take on a Pikachu Morph!
Coming right up!
First we have the Lightning Morph
A simple inoffensive morph that's a favorite amongst people due to being a simplistic shakeup of the usual Pikachu look whilst having no health problem or issues brought upon by the different markings. They're just a zappy guy! There was a brief craze when some Lightning morphs had extended cheek patterns as though lightning was sparking from their cheeks, a favourite being zigzags under the eyes affectionately known as the "Ash Morph" due to the similar shape.
Next we have the Nanab/Banana Morph!
An adorable morph with colors similar to that of the Nanab beery including the browning spots older Nanabs that need using tend to gain. Another loved morph due to lack of health concerns and how different it looks.
And from the Nanab/Banana Morph comes the Peeled Nanab Morph
Characterised by having a paler stomach often times a whole pale front this morph is just a slight variation of the Nanab Morph with the pale stomachs like that of the actual Nanab fruit. There is debate over what counts as a 'true' version of this morph some argue it needs to be a whole body stripe others just the stomach, it's up to interpretation really but for a while this Morph whipped up a frenzy due to their cute pale bellies resulting in them selling for more than their original morph counterpart.
The Sweethearts Morph
A more problematic morph, assumably bred from the banned deluxe shiny morph (the shiny status of this morph is heavily debated as is the legality due to the Pokémon apparent inability to evolve and noted shortened tail that causes issue with absorbing electricity but I digress), and an albino morph making a pink tones Pikachu from the Deluxe Shinys darker more red coat and the Albinos white. They briefly caused a frenzy amongst people with heart shaped patterns having ones selling for much more, however they were quickly banned from being bred and being used in competitions and battles due to health issues. Functionally they are somewhat albino, suffering from many of the similar health conditions they're susceptible to heat exhaustion and heat stroke and require sun protection measures, they often exhaust quickly and can't hold a steady charge and often have eyesight issues. Thus the ones that have been bred must only be kept as companions and not used competitively in any manner.
Lastly the Clown Morph! (hoax)
A small breeder posted on their social media the creation of the Clown Morph a Spinda like Pikachu that quickly became desired. At about midday the same breeder posted that the morph was in fact an April Fools with a video of their very patient Pikachu partner having the Pokémon paint washed off of them. Many people caused uproar about the deceit claiming the breeder used unsafe paints or that they took money from them for a Clown Morph and used it to boost their business but the claims were quickly disproven as it was just some people very angry and not taking being pranked very well. Most saw the funny side of this hoax.
#my art#pokemon#Pikachu morphs#Hope you like them!#Any similarity to others is coincidental#Went for a more fantasy approach rather than realistic mouse morphs#Nanab Morph is based off like the banana snake morph lmao#There was gonna be a deluxe morph but couldn't make it look nice so I scrapped it#Wanted a little realism of media craze ect and people being a bit uncaring about health stuff cause like who actively breeds bad health one#Bad breeders that's who who want money despite knowing the young will probably not be fully healthy#And obviously a classic hoax morph#And people being salty over not liking a joke#We're gonna ignore the bit I didn't see to erase on the Clown Morph XD#tw trypophobia#warning trypophobia#Cause lots of blots#Fixed the clown morph lmao#Morphs exclusive to server#Don't think anybody was using them but yea if u see not free to use

A Tiktok goes up on Eddie’s account that’s shot at an awkward angle like he’d originally set it up for a different reason but got distracted. The tone of Eddie’s voice clearly shows he’s teasing when Steve cuts him off.
Steve: Eddie, stop. Tommy never had a crush on me
Eddie: Baby, I hate to break it to you, but everybody who has ever met you has had at least a little bit of a crush on you
Steve: No. that’s not-
Tommy: Steve, I was in love with you
Steve: What, no?? No. You loved Carol.
Tommy: Yeah, I still love Carol but I was in love with you for years. Carol was too.
Tommy: You broke both our hearts when you left us for Wheeler
Steve:
Tommy: Seriously, you never knew? That wasn’t an act for social media? Did you think that we took all of our friends on dates?
Steve: That wasn’t - we were just…
Tommy: No one jokes that often about having a threesome without kinda meaning it
Steve: I - that… *slowly morphs into that surprise pikachu meme*
#the video fades out with ‘I got permission to post this’ and Eddie asks the important questions#Eddie: …so wanna revisit that joke and it a reality#Steve & Tommy: *give Eddie a look to reminiscent of high school*#Eddie: Kidding! just kidding! it’s a joke…kinda. sorta#eddie munson tiktok saga#eddie munson#steve harrington#tommy hagan

hello, i have a very much self indulgent mini hc request since i can see my mc, aries, doing this
how would m6 react to mc saying "i want a baby" out of the blue, only for them to follow up with "yeah i was thinking of (insert pet here)"
i can only imagine lucio having the biggest sigh of relief after aries reveals that they just want another dog lmao
The Arcana Mini-HCs: When MC says "I want a baby ... pet"
Julian: starts with both anxiety and excitement (because yeah, he'd like kids too, but this is way too sudden) and morphs to shaky relief and a slight feeling of disappointment. will start referring to the future pet as his child
Asra: *surprised pikachu face* ... oh, thank the realms. they're not opposed to raising a child with you, but the suddenness of it was enough to send a chill up their spine. you know what, after that, any pet is fine, go ahead MC
Nadia: oh. so you're ready, then. she's halfway through pulling out her folders of baby preparation when she hears your second statement. hastily scrambles to hide them before you notice and asks if this is a lead-up to parenthood
Muriel: muriel.exe has stopped running. all he got was 1) the act typically associated with making babies, and 2) the sound of tiny feet pattering next to him through the forest and both were too much to handle. relieved upon clarification
Portia: FINALLY - wait, what do you mean a pet? well yeah, fur babies are babies, but she thought you were talking about a baby baby, don't tease her MC! at least tell her that she has a say in what you name it, you owe her that much
Lucio: OH GOD WHY - ohhhhh thank goodness. but also, are you sure Mercedes and Melchior aren't already enough of a challenge? Why don't you just claim one of them? Well ... at least let him help you pick one that's cute

Write a small bit about Ash and Misty arguing at the store; they only have it in their budget for one box of snacks, and they can't decide on what to buy.
Misty looks up from the grocery list on her Rotom Phone to find Ash jogging over to her. A small box rests in his hands, and based on the stupid grin on his face, it's that new stupid snack food being advertised everywhere.
She waits until he reaches out, hands over the shopping cart, before speaking. "Rejected. Put it back."
Ash's face quickly morphs into shock. "Wha -- why?"
"I've already grabbed a snack." Misty holds up the package of seaweed crackers. "We can only get one."
Ash blinks, looking from the crackers to the box in his hands. Then, he takes the crackers, places them on the shelf beside them, and drops the box into the cart.
A vein throbs on Misty's temple as Ash smirks. She reaches out and swaps the positions of each item. Pikachu, sitting in the cart's seat, giggles, his tail waggling.
"Stop that!" Ash reaches for his snack again but Misty swats his hand away.
"You've been eating too much crap lately," she says. "You need to start eating healthier."
"Those crackers are like eating cardboard!" Ash whines, bringing back memories of his ten-year-old self begging Brock for another helping of stew. "I can't eat that!"
"You can, and you will." Misty maneuvers the cart around him and continues down the aisle. She hears Ash sigh and knows he's giving the snack box one last longing look before dejectedly following.
"Why," he asks. "Do we always seem to have enough money for what you want?"
"Remind yourself which one of us is a Gym Leader with a steady income before you ask that."
"I'm a Champion, Mist."
"A broke Champion. I told you not to invest in PoryCoin."
"Everyone else was doing it..."

Starfallverse ghost lore tidbits
-Not every ghost pokemon is a deceased pokemon. Bates (Pikachu -> Banette) and Twilight (Skorupi -> Mismagius) are deceased, but not every Banette or Mismagius is like them. Some simply hatched from eggs. On that note, all ghosts can have eggs, but they will always be ghosts like them.
-Not every deceased pokemon becomes a ghost pokemon. Some deceased pokemon show up as spirits in their original forms (Zephyr), but have no tangibility and can’t be perceived by normal pokemon.
-What happens is that when a pokemon dies, it’s aura flares up one last time. If that flare is powerful enough (usually spurred on by the individual’s emotions and willpower), the aura morphs the pokemon’s soul into a new body, tethering them to the earth once more.
-This is thought to be where the ghost type originated by some scholars, but that’s been debated over time.
-This has a higher chance of happening to younger pokemon, or pokemon whose deaths were sudden and painful, or were murdered. Twilight became a ghost because he was a young child when he died. Bates was left to drown and was filled with resentment towards her killer, so her aura flare allowed her to return. Zephyr’s death, while sudden, produced a smaller flare because she didn’t have as much willpower. And so she simply passed on.
-Many pokemon see ghosts as creepy or untrustworthy. They believe them to be resentful, warped spirits who will punish innocent pokemon for their own deaths. Others see them as a bad omen. Some simply pity them.
-Ghosts tend to have poor memory of their previous lives. They struggle to recall their loved ones, and if they do one day, they can easily forget the next. Some (Twilight) try to train themselves to remember day to day to varying results. This is part of why certain pokemon distrust them: “since they cant remember their killers, they could target anyone”…
-It usually takes a while for ghosts to spawn after they die. Twilight only manifested after a week, some ways away from his home.
-Once a ghost’s physical form is destroyed, they pass on to the next world. No more chances.

Modern Jordan Sit's next to her and puts a baby mew on the table
"... So What you..... are saying is that Chu chu.... reacted to something about that... thing?"
he said this as he feeds the baby mew tiny pieces of pancake.
@pokeenersons
“Oi! No Pokémon on the table, your Skitty can stand on the floor and eat with the rest of the Pokémon.”
“There, they’ll be fine with Nana, Tart and Bolt.”
“Ok first off buddy.”
“Second off, Chu Chu just got weird and sick. It’s bad but nothing that this guy isn’t going to fix… speaking of which, where IS Chu Chu?”

Damian: *sneaking into Tim's kitchen to steal the leftovers from the dinner Bernard had cooked*
Bernard, half awake on the couch: ????????
--later--
Tim: who ate my leftovers! I was gonna take those to work!
Bernard: wasn't me
Tim: was Stephanie here? I swear to g-!
Bernard: I think Robin took them?
Tim: what?
Bernard: I thought I was hallucinating at first, but I'm pretty sure he took them
Tim: ... Be right back I have to murder someone
----
Tim, slamming open Damian's door at the manor and staring at him:
Damian:
Tim:
Damian: ????? Get out.
Tim: did you touch my food!?
Damian, acting confused: come again drake?
Tim: did you steal my fucking lunch!?
Damian: what lunch!?
Tim: the leftovers that were in my fridge, in my boat!!
Damian, pretending to think: oh yes, those leftovers, It seems I did
Tim: why!?
Damian: because I rather like your boyfriend's cooking... and because Todd threw household appliances at me when I attempted to sneak into his kitchen
Tim: why were you stealing food in the first place!?
Damian: I got hungry on patrol
Tim: and? You have Alfred???
Damian:
Damian: but then I wouldn't have been able to inconvenience you
Tim: why!? Why do that???
Damian, grinning: because I can.
Tim: grrrr!! *Touches all of Damian's things and leaves the door slightly open*
Damian: *surprised Pikachu face, slowly morphing into a very visibly annoyed face*

hi jeanie!! i was wondering if u had any thoughts on what the quarry counselors' favorite nintendo franchises might me?
-cas @chrashley :)
Hi Cas! 🥰 Ooh I love this question! I tried to stick with games I’m familiar with but there's a couple I've never played myself. That being said I'd be interested to hear what other's think in case I missed anything 👀
Abi - Animal Crossing, she enjoys more cozy games and it would bring out her artistic side, creating her own clothes and decorating her house/town/island. She doesn’t do anything extravagant but she plays a fair amount, she enjoys bug catching and visiting her favorite neighbors with gifts.
Dylan - The Legend of Zelda, nice mix of puzzles, action, and music depending on the game. He gets really into the new mechanics in BOTW and TOTK, going from creating really intricate mechanics to designing dick shaped machines. Perhaps projecting but I’d say he’d have a soft spot for Twilight Princess (you can hold and talk to cats!)
Kaitlyn - Splatoon, the shooter of the Nintendo franchises. She meticulously goes through all the weapons in order to pick the best one depending on specials and sub weapons (she strikes me as a sniper). She also loves the idols and music and designing her squid with all the fresh fashion choices. She definitely makes it to ruler rank whenever she participates in Splatfests (and claims bullshit if her team loses).
Ryan - Pokemon, perhaps inspired by Justice being in Detective Pikachu, but as an aspiring animator he’d be interested in all the different Pokemon designs. When Ryan builds his team he gets really attached to them. He’d never attempt a nuzlocke, he’s sticking with his whole team til the end. He of course loves the ghost types, but I think he’d also have something like Loudred or Golbat, something audio/sound related. He definitely plays a lot with Sarah.
Emma - Metroid, Emma is resourceful, working well under pressure and able to adapt to situations quickly, so when she takes the controller for Metroid she effortlessly switches from platforming to shooting, completely tearing the alien enemies to shreds. She loves Samus and probably got into the series for the leading lady. One of her favorite elements is the morph ball, but the arm canon might have it beat.
Jacob - WarioWare, while a more competitive game may seem like Jacob’s first choice I think if he had to choose a favorite he’d prefer the quick micro games that WarioWare has to offer. It’s fun, fast, no time to think just DO. He also really enjoys the zany humor and eccentric characters. It’s also a plus to play with others and can somehow still turn competitive, especially when playing with Nick.
Nick - Pikmin, Nick likes to go with the flow so he'd like something less fast paced but still something with some strategy. I think he'd find assigning Pikmin with their different abilities to various tasks satisfying. Since he also loves nature he'd enjoy the exploration element, as well. And really he just thinks the Pikmin are cute.
Laura - Animal Crossing, since she’s interested in veterinary science she’d probably enjoy the animal characters, Max most likely introduces her to the game for that reason. However, unlike Abi she plays it more seriously. She has to complete every task, pop every balloon, and fill the entire museum with every collectible. She has to stop playing when it cuts time into her personal productivity. She has a 5 star island.
Max - Yoshi, Max is definitely not a competitive player, he plays games that are more chill. He enjoys the straightforward mechanics of swallow enemies, throw eggs/yarn, with nothing too punishable or frustrating like with other tenser games. The vibrant, colorful world definitely doesn’t hurt with all the cute smiling flowers, shy guys on stilts, and most importantly: Poochy.
All the counselors love Mario Party and Mario Kart, some less so than others as the game progresses and they continue to lose (Jacob).
#the quarry#abigail blyg#dylan lenivy#kaitlyn ka#ryan erzahler#emma mountebank#jacob custos#nick furcillo#laura kearney#max brinly#almost gave nick star fox or donkey kong#emma was gonna be princess peach showtime but metroid kept calling to me#abi also gives me kirby vibes

Fandoms: 呪術廻戦 | Jujutsu Kaisen
⚠️ SPOILER HEAVY ⚠️
Major Warnings: Graphic Depictions Of Violence, Major Character Death
Full tags/warnings on Chapter links post
Major Characters: Original Character, Gojo Satoru, Geto Suguru, Ieiri Shoko, Yaga Masamichi, Nanami Kento, Haibara Yu
‧₊˚✧ Chapter 4 ✧˚₊‧
Nearly a week later, the four of them crowded around a small TV in Satoru's room. Suguru was a miracle worker, smoothing the tension between Sarah and Satoru easily with one conversation. How the man could do it, Satoru would never know. But then again, he was an excellent cult leader...
Suguru had managed to get them on even ground, but now the tension was thick as Satoru fought for his life, Sarah equally as focused beside him. Smash Bros had never been a game meant to be played this seriously, but you'd think that they were fighting for the ultimate championship. Might as well have had a grand prize.
“You’re going down, Gojo,” Sarah muttered, her eyes focused on the screen.
Captain Falcon zipped forward, grabbed Kirby and chucked him off the ledge. Satoru scoffed, floating the pink abomination back onto the stage as Sarah sent Captain Falcon after Link next.
“Come on, Satoru, don’t let her beat you!” Suguru encouraged, though he was mostly laughing. He didn't even care as Link was Falcon Punched so hard he launched off the screen.
Pikachu barely managed to jump out of the way, although Shoko certainly wasn't trying all that hard to avoid anything. She half-heartedly played, far more interested in the tension between Satoru and Sarah than bothering to try to win.
“I swear you’re cheating,” Satoru grumbled as he barely blocked one of Captain Falcon’s punches, "No one lands all these hits with that stupid slow-ass guy."
“You’re just salty because I’m better than you,” Sarah shot back, “Maybe Kirby isn’t your main after all.”
“That’s it!” Satoru declared, his frustration morphing into determination. He leaned in closer, eyes narrowing as he locked into the game.
The room grew quieter as the intensity of the match increased. Suguru stopped laughing, instead sitting forward as he watched the battle unfold. Shoko’s laziness dissipated, and she focused on the match.
The screen was a flurry of bright colors and chaos as Kirby and Captain Falcon exchanged blows. It was anyone’s game and the tension was palpable as both of them were grimaced and focused. And then in a final dramatic moment, Satoru managed to land a perfectly timed attack sending Captain Falcon flying off the screen. The words “GAME!” flashed on the screen, and after a moment Kirby was on screen in first place.
“HA! I WIN!” Satoru shouted triumphantly, throwing his arms in the air and dropping his controller.
Sarah shrieked in surprise, her mouth dropping open in shock, “NO WAY! That's bullshit!”
Satoru smirked at her, his usual cocky demeanor back in full force. “Oh? Is someone mad they lost?" He taunted, "Don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll win next time—practice makes perfect right?”
Sarah’s eyes narrowed at him, and she stood up, pointing a finger at him accusingly. “Rematch!" She demanded, "You got lucky this time, Glacier Freeze, but I’m going to destroy you in the next round.”
"Stop calling me that!" He huffed, "They don't look like that at all."
"I prefer Cool Blue anyway," She smirked, flicking his sunglasses.
Shoko raised her hand, cutting into the escalating argument. “Can we play something else now?" She sighed, "Like, literally anything else?”
Suguru nodded in agreement, still snickering at the exchange between Satoru and Sarah. “Yeah, how about we switch it up," he agreed, "I don’t think my sides can take much more of this.”
Satoru pouted, looking a bit miffed at the idea of ending his victory streak before it even started. “But we were just getting to the good part!” he whined.
Sarah crossed her arms and grinned wickedly. “I know exactly what we should play next.” She reached for the game stack, a devious look in her eyes as her fingers hovered over the case for Bomberman.
Shoko, seeing where this was going, quickly interjected, “Nope. No. Absolutely not.”
Suguru nodded thoughtfully. “How about something different? Something neither of you know as well, so it’s an even playing field?” he suggested.
Satoru tilted his head, a little curious now. “What did you have in mind?” he asked, scooting over on the floor to look at his collection of games.
Shoko smiled as she rifled through the game stack, eventually pulling out a game they hadn’t played together as a group—Mario Party.
“Neither of you can complain when it's so random,” Shoko suggested, a glint of amusement in her eyes.
Satoru groaned, “Mario Party? Really? That’s just pure chaos.”
Sarah’s grin widened. “Chaos sounds perfect," she said, "Can't cheat when it's random.”
Suguru and Shoko shared a look as Satoru reluctantly agreed. Still, as they started the game and the room filled with shouts about who gets to play which character, he couldn’t help but smile. Being with his friends like this, with their playful chatter and shared moments, was something he realized he had missed far more than he’d ever let on.
That feeling wasn't something he was going to let go of this time. Everything was going to turn out the way it always could have. There was no way he was going to let this go, no matter what it took.
"Gojo!" Sarah whined playfully, shaking his arm, "Your turn!"
"Mm? Oh shit, my bad!" He said with a grin, lifting his controller up again.
"You should be Wario," she mumbled through a mouthful of chips, "You seem like a Wario kind of guy."
"Why... What?" He stared at her, "What gives you that impression?"
"Probably 'cos Geto picked Waluigi," Shoko said, reaching over Sarah's legs to dig into the chips, "I can see it."
Suguru shrugged, his sly little smile almost mocking. "I'm not exactly sure what they're seeing here," he shrugged, "But we can team up if you want?"
"Oh shit! Does this one have team mode?" Satoru asked, "Let's team up, bro!"
"Let's shit on these kids," Sarah laughed, grinning at Shoko who wholeheartedly agreed.
"Losers buys dinner?" Suguru suggested, raising his brow.
"Pffff no way!" Sarah scoffed, "I'm broke as hell. You two get your fancy special grade pay and stuff. I barely get an allowance."
"Yeah, and I'm not paying for everything you freaks eat," Shoko grumbled, "You two eat too damn much."
"But we're growing boys!" Satoru said, his eyes sparkling and a mocking pout on his face while he threw his arm around Suguru's shoulders. Suguru faked a swoon as well, tipping his head back with his hand on his forehead as Satoru whined, "We can't help it! We need it to--"
"You're both tall enough already." Shoko said dryly.
"I'll get taller," Gojo said with a shrug.
"No way," Sarah huffed, flicking a chip at him, "There's no way you can. How tall are you now?"
"Five eleven," he said with a smirk, "But I'll be six three, you'll see."
"No one should be that big," Shoko chuckled, "That's ridiculous."
"Bold of you to throw out a number so confidently," Suguru laughed, "Why six three specifically?"
"I just know things," Satoru said with a smirk, pushing up his sunglasses, "I'm just that good."
"Well use all the things you know to take your turn," Sarah said, reaching to take his controller, "Roll the dice already!"
"W-woah!" He stammered, holding the controller out of her reach, "I'm going I'm going!"
"I've got stars to collect, dude," she huffed, sitting back down and grinning at him, "I'm gonna absolutely ruin you."
His dorm room came alive with the sound of insults, laughter, and the occasional groan of frustration as they threw themselves into the game. Shoko and Sarah choosing to play as Peach and Daisy, versus Satoru and Suguru who actually did pick Wario and Waluigi. The girls were clearly out for blood, and the boys were just as feral about it.
Satoru had to admit, Mario Party did have its charm. Every roll of the dice was filled with drama somehow, and the minigames—wild and unpredictable—kept them all on their toes. Shoko was especially good at the rhythm-based challenges while Sarah had an uncanny knack for the luck-based games. Suguru was a bit of a wildcard excelling in the more strategic games, and Satoru was just determined not to let the girls get the better of him.
"Oh-hoh!" Sarah taunted, her eyes flicking to Satoru as she landed on a space that would steal coins, "Gimme them coins!"
"God damn it! Stop picking me specifically," Satoru shot back, his eyes narrowing. But it was no use—Peach made off with more of his hard-earned coins, leaving him grumbling as Shoko laughed beside her.
"Don’t be so grumpy, Gojo. It’s just a game," Shoko said, though her smirk betrayed that she was enjoying every minute of his frustration.
Suguru snickered, his gaze flicking between the screen and Satoru’s increasingly annoyed expression. "I'm sure we can come back around," he said, "It'll be alright."
"Shut up," Satoru mumbled, though there was no real venom in his tone. He was enjoying himself far more than he was letting on. This, this right here, was something he hadn’t felt in a long time—a simple, unburdened joy. For a moment, it was easy to forget the weight of the world outside these walls.
As the game progressed, the back-and-forth continued with each team fighting for control of the board, stealing stars, and sabotaging the other’s plans. The chaos of Mario Party was something else, and the outcome of the game was impossible to predict. Every victory was short-lived, every lead fragile. It was exactly the kind of fun that made the hours slip by unnoticed.
But as the game drew closer to its end, Satoru found himself growing quieter, more introspective. He watched his friends—their smiles, their laughter—and felt a strange, unexpected ache in his chest. It was as if he were trying to memorize this moment, to hold onto it even as it was happening. He’d been so focused on the game that the realization hit him like a ton of bricks: this was one of those fleeting, perfect moments. The kind he’d never fully appreciated before.
And then, out of the blue, Sarah tapped him on the shoulder. He blinked, snapping out of his thoughts as she leaned in closer.
“Hey, Gojo,” she said softly, “could you help me with something in the hallway?”
Confused but curious, Satoru set his controller down and followed her out of the room. As they stepped into the hallway, the noise of the game muffled behind the door, he glanced at her wondering what she needed help with so suddenly.
“What’s up?” he asked, trying to sound casual, but there was a lingering unease in his voice.
Sarah looked at him, her green eyes studying him carefully. “Are you okay?” she asked, her voice gentle and sincere.
Satoru was taken aback by the question. He hadn’t expected anyone to notice—especially not her. “What? Yeah, I’m fine. Why?” he asked, one arm crossing over his chest to grip on the other forearm.
She laughed softly, though it wasn’t mocking. “You just got really quiet all of a sudden," she said, keeping her voice low, "That didn’t seem like you.”
He hesitated, unsure of how to respond. It was such a simple observation, but it was enough to unravel the carefully maintained façade he’d been holding up. He ran a hand through his hair, giving a small, rueful laugh. “I’m alright. I guess I was just… really happy, you know?” he said, his voice also remained quiet.
“Happy?” Sarah repeated, tilting her head, “Then why did it make you so sad?”
The question caught him off guard and for a moment, he didn’t know how to answer. It took him a second to realize that, yes, he had felt a bit sad. It was a bittersweet feeling—one he hadn’t even recognized until she pointed it out.
“I guess… it’s a little bittersweet,” he admitted, his voice quieter now, “I’m not really used to having fun like this. It’s been a while since I've had time to just relax.”
Sarah looked at him with a mix of understanding and sympathy. “Well, we’ll just have to make sure you get more used to it then,” she said with a smile and a little shrug, her tone light but sincere as she bumped her fist on his chest.
He laughed, a genuine sound this time, and reached out to pat her head. “Don't pat my head like an old man or something,” she muttered, quickly backing away and throwing his hand off and trying to hide her smile.
Satoru grinned, shaking his head. “You don’t know the half of it,” he said, the words slipping out before he could think better of it. But instead of questioning it, she grabbed his arm and pulled him back toward the door.
“Come on, let’s get back before they think we’re smooching out here or somethin',” she said, her voice light and teasing.
But just before she opened the door, she paused, her expression softening as she looked up at him. “Hey, Gojo,” she said quietly, “Seriously, if you ever want to talk about what’s bothering you, I’m here. I’m not sure how much help I’d be, but I’ll listen.”
For a moment, he didn’t know what to say. The offer was unexpected, but it warmed something inside him. He nodded, his usual bravado fading into something more genuine. “Thanks.” he said softly.
She smiled at him, and together they walked back into the room, Suguru and Shoko welcoming them back. But even as he sat down, the controller back in his hands, that bittersweet feeling lingered. The joy of being with them, of having these moments, was tinged with the regret of what he’d lost in his first life. This teenage freedom was something that he knew would be fleeting, and he dreaded the responsibility of being an adult again.
But for now, he’d hold onto that freedom for as long as he could.

The sun was setting as the four friends strolled down the street, the sky bathed in hues of orange and pink. The quiet of the evening was broken only by their conversation and the occasional rustling of leaves as a breeze passed by. Shoko, Suguru, and Satoru were dressed in their school uniforms still, their jackets casually slung over their shoulders, while Sarah stood out in her usual jeans and a t-shirt. Despite the difference in their attire, they moved together easily, as though they’d been friends for much longer than they actually had.
Suguru and Satoru were engaged in one of their typical playful arguments, their voices rising and falling in exaggerated tones as they debated something utterly trivial. Satoru was insisting that he absolutely knew everything about the lesson he'd ignored that day, while Suguru rolled his eyes, claiming that Satoru must be good at listening in his sleep. Shoko walked beside them, her hands in her pockets, occasionally chiming in with a sarcastic comment that made the boys bicker even more.
Sarah, walking beside Shoko, glanced at the two boys ahead of them and chuckled. “Do they ever stop?” she asked, her tone light and amused.
Shoko sighed dramatically, shaking her head. “Not really, not even in class," she said, "But it’s kind of entertaining, don’t you think?”
The two of them laughed softly, their conversation drifting to more mundane topics—favorite snacks, the best place to get ramen in the city, and what they planned to do after grabbing their snacks from the convenience store.
As they approached the corner, Suguru suddenly stopped in his tracks, his gaze focused on something up ahead. The others followed his gaze, and there it was—a curse, perched up on a telephone pole like some grotesque parody of a bird. Its six legs clung to the metal pole, its body a twisted amalgamation of shadows and limbs that seemed to defy logic.
“What the hell is that?” Satoru muttered, squinting up at the creature.
Sarah tilted her head to the side, studying it for a moment before she smirked. “It kinda looks like a messed-up Catbus from Totoro, doesn’t it?” she asked with a little chuckle.
Suguru and Satoru both looked at her, and then back at the curse, before they burst into laughter. Shoko chuckled as well, shaking her head at the comparison.
“You’re not wrong,” Shoko said, her lips curling into a smirk, “That’s pretty spot on, actually.”
Satoru grinned as he turned to Suguru. “So, you gonna absorb it, or what?” he asked.
Suguru shrugged, his expression indifferent. “It’s not really doing anything. Why bother?” he said.
“But it could do something,” Satoru pointed out, and both Shoko and Sarah nodded in agreement.
Suguru scowled, clearly not in the mood, but with a sigh, he raised his hand. In an instant, the curse was swallowed up by one of his orbs, disappearing from the pole and into his hand as though it had never been there. It was a weak curse, easily overpowered, but the action still left a bitter taste in Suguru’s mouth, both literally and figuratively.
“Why don't you want to absorb it?” Satoru asked, curious.
Suguru grimaced, still holding the orb. “The flavor ruins my taste for a while. And we were about to get snacks. I didn’t want to do that.” he explained.
Just as Suguru was about to swallow the orb, Sarah suddenly reached out and pulled his hand away. “Hey, what are you—” Suguru started to protest, but Sarah was quicker. She leaned in and licked the orb before he could stop her.
Instantly, her face twisted in horror, and she stumbled back, gagging and dancing on her toes in mild panic. “Oh my god, that’s disgusting!” she gasped, her voice muffled by the back of her hand as she tried to wipe the taste away, “It’s—it’s so bad! Aah, holy shit!!”
The others burst out laughing at her reaction. Satoru doubled over, clutching his sides, while Shoko had to cover her mouth to stifle her giggles. Even Suguru couldn’t help but smirk at the sight of Sarah freaking out over the taste.
“It’s like licking the bottom of a dumpster or something!” Sarah wailed, her face scrunched up in disgust as she frantically tried to get the taste out of her mouth, “Oh god, why did I do that!?”
Satoru was laughing so hard that he was nearly crying. “I tried to stop you!” Suguru said, shaking his head but still smiling.
Sarah managed to pull herself together after a moment, though her expression was still one of lingering disgust. “That was the worst thing I’ve ever tasted,” she declared, her voice filled with conviction, “You two. Taste it.”
“Not a chance,” Shoko said, shaking her head adamantly.
“Yeah, no way,” Satoru added, though the laughter in his voice was fading as he tried to regain his composure.
Sarah’s eyes narrowed as she looked at Satoru, a smirk forming on her lips. “What’s wrong? Afraid?” she mocked.
Satoru stiffened, glaring at her playfully. “I’m not scared,” he muttered, stepping forward and snatching the orb from Suguru’s hand.
“Don’t do it, Satoru,” Suguru warned, but it was too late. Satoru had already licked the orb, and as soon as the taste hit his tongue, his eyes widened in horror.
“Oh god,” he choked, retching as the taste overwhelmed him. “What the hell is that? It’s like—I can’t even—” He couldn’t find the words to describe it, but the look on his face said it all.
The others were in stitches, laughing at Satoru’s reaction. Even Shoko, couldn’t hold back at sight of him gagging and stumbling away as if he could escape the taste.
“It’s worse-- than anything! Oh god!” Satoru groaned, still trying to rid himself of the flavor, “Like, not even the bottom of a dumpster is gross enough to describe it!”
As the laughter died down, Suguru sighed and finally swallowed the orb. But before he could say anything, both Satoru and Sarah were on him, their expressions serious. They clutched onto his shirt, looking up at him with despair and pity.
“I'll buy you literally anything you want to help with the taste,” Satoru promised, his voice sincere despite the lingering amusement.
“Yeah, seriously,” Sarah agreed, nodding fervently, “I don’t know how you deal with that all the time.”
Suguru chuckled softly, a little touched by their concern. He wasn’t used to people understanding the little sacrifices he made, and it warmed his heart to see them care—even if they had to experience it for themselves to really get it. “Thanks,” he said, a small smile creeping on his lips, "That's... That's really kind of you both."
The four friends walked into the convenience store, the jingling of the door chime signaling their arrival. The fluorescent lights overhead hummed softly as they cast a stark contrast to the warm colors of the evening outside. Shelves lined with an array of snacks, drinks, and other essentials stretched out before them, creating a small labyrinth of choices. The air had the scent of someone's instant ramen, and there was a faint background noise of a small TV playing a rerun of an old game show adding to the familiar, almost comforting atmosphere.
Suguru immediately veered off to the drink section, searching for his favorite soda. Shoko casually drifted toward the snacks, her hands already reaching for a bag of her cheese-flavored chips. Satoru, as expected, moved toward the candy aisle, his eyes scanning for anything that caught his interest.
Sarah lingered a bit behind, her steps slower, more hesitant. She wandered toward a quieter corner of the store, away from the aisles where her friends were making their choices. As she reached into her pocket, her fingers brushed against the few crumpled bills and coins she had. Her heart sank as she realized just how little money she had. Her eyes flicked up to the shelves in front of her, filled with snacks she liked but couldn't afford. A small sigh escaped her lips, and she quickly pushed the thoughts aside, trying to distract herself by pretending to browse.
Unbeknownst to her, Satoru had noticed her retreat into the corner. He finished grabbing his candy and casually made his way over to where she stood. As he approached, he saw the tension in her shoulders, the way she looked at the snacks in front of her with a mixture of longing and resignation. His heart ached slightly, but he kept his expression light as he came up beside her.
Without a word, he reached over her shoulder and grabbed a bag of chips that he knew she liked. The crinkling sound of the bag caught her attention, and she looked up in surprise to see Satoru holding it out to her.
"Gojo, you don't have to do that," she insisted quickly, her voice tinged with embarrassment.
He flashed her a grin, his usual playful smirk. "I know I don’t have to. I want to," He said playfully.
She shook her head, pushing the bag back toward him. "No, really, it's fine," she mumbled, "You don’t need to spend your money on me."
Satoru’s grin softened, but he didn’t back down. “Sarah, just take it," he insisted, "Consider it a gift.”
Her cheeks flushed a deep shade of red, a mixture of frustration and embarrassment making her feel flustered. “I don’t like taking gifts for no reason," she said, looking away from him.
Satoru chuckled, taking her hand gently placing the bag into it. “It’s not for nothing," he insisted, "It’s for being my friend.”
She paused, the words sinking in, but still, she felt uneasy. “But… I don’t know, I’m just weird about it. I don’t want to owe anyone," she said quietly.
Satoru shook his head, brushing a strand of white hair out of his face. “You don't owe me anything, okay?" He chuckled, "I like doing nice things for my friends. Just relax and let me do something nice for you.”
Sarah bit her lip, still conflicted, but she could see he wasn’t going to back down. Finally, she sighed and muttered, “Fine… but just this once.”
“Good,” Satoru said, smiling victoriously, “Now come on, let’s get the rest of the stuff.”
They rejoined the others in the aisles, Satoru grabbing a few more snacks while Sarah followed behind, holding the chips and a drink he’d grabbed for her. Her embarrassment hadn’t quite faded, and she carried the them awkwardly, trying to hide it behind her as they walked.
When they all regrouped at the counter, Suguru noticed the way Sarah was hanging back, her expression a little uneasy. As they left the store and began the walk back to the school, Suguru quietly fell into step beside Satoru.
“Why’s Sarah upset?” he asked softly, glancing back at her as she lagged behind.
Satoru sighed, glancing at Suguru before looking forward again. “She didn’t have much money, and I bought her some snacks," he explained, "She didn’t want me to, though. Felt bad about it.”
Suguru nodded thoughtfully. “Maybe she just likes things to be equal," he suggested.
Satoru frowned, not quite understanding. “What do you mean?” he asked.
Suguru hesitated before continuing. “Maybe she’s just not used to getting gifts and feels guilty she can’t do something for you in return,” he suggested.
Satoru considered this for a moment. “But it doesn’t matter to me if she can’t get me stuff," he scoffed, "I just like getting things for my friends, you know? Making them happy.”
Suguru smiled softly. “Yeah, I know. But not everyone’s used to that, Satoru," he explained, "Her family probably doesn’t have a lot of money like yours does. And remember, she’s been at the school for a while, even before she was supposed to start. Yaga did say they took her in early for safety concerns, so… it might have been tough for her.”
Satoru’s expression softened as he looked back at Sarah, who was now talking quietly with Shoko, her voice carrying just a hint of that earlier embarrassment. It hadn’t even occurred to him that Sarah might have a different perspective on money and gifts. He was used to being generous without thinking twice about it, but for her, it might feel more complicated.
“I guess I didn’t think about that,” Satoru admitted, his voice quieter, “I just wanted to do something nice for her.”
Suguru patted Satoru on the back. “You did, and she knows that," he said with a chuckle, "Just give her some time to get used to it. She’ll come around.”
Satoru nodded, a small lopsided smile on his lips as he looked at Sarah again. He couldn’t shake the desire to make sure she felt cared for, even if it meant navigating this unfamiliar territory. More than anything he just wanted to repay her for what she'd done for him. He'd long since decided that he would never tell her what happened, choosing instead to just make sure she was happy in this life and not need to sacrifice herself for him.
Sarah looked up at him and their gazes locked. He grinned at her and she chuckled a little. She mouthed a thank you to him and he nodded before turning back to look ahead again. He'd been so sure making her happy was going to be an easy thing, but then again he'd never been all that great at this stuff in the first place. At least he was figuring it out.
"So," Suguru said, glancing over his shoulder at Sarah before nudging Satoru, "Did you figure anything out yet?"
"Hmm?" Satoru blinked, looking back at her again for a second then back at Suguru, "Oh, about her technique?"
"Yeah, any clues yet?" Suguru asked, keeping his voice low, "Because I learned something the other day."
"Yeah I did actually," Satoru said, keeping his voice down as well though he was intrigued, "Let's talk about it after curfew, alright?"
"Alright," Suguru agreed, "Tonight then."
As soon as lights were out, Satoru was outside and tapping on Suguru's window. He slid it open, hopping outside and leaning against the wall.
"So," Satoru started, "After the first time, when she got hit with the bucket, I've seen her get hurt at least a few times a day."
"She's so clumsy," Suguru interjected with a chuckle, "But yes, go on."
Satoru grinned, then continued, "It only seems to happen if she bleeds. So she bumped into a door frame and nothing happened, but later I saw her catch her finger with the gardening sheers and it just snapped back."
"Blood based," Suguru said thoughtfully, "Wonder if she may be related to Kamo in some way?"
"Could be," Satoru shrugged, "But what do you find out?"
"So apparently, none of the faculty have said that she's been here her whole life," Suguru said, "She seems to fully believe that, but no one else does. I assume it's part of her vow, but the details seem to be more complicated than just memory loss."
"Did they seem genuine when you asked about it?" Satoru asked, leaning back on the wall as well.
"They did, but I never like to completely rule it out," Suguru said, "I think we may need to do more investigating."
"I knew you'd be curious," Satoru snickered, nudging him, "Let's see if Shoko can help too."

❛ please don’t leave me. ❜
This with satogou would be so cute 🥰💯
Thank you for doing it if you get round to it!!! ❤️
“please don't leave me” wc: 2576 read on ao3 here
They’re deep in northern Sinnoh when Ash starts sneezing.
“It’s n-nothing,” he says between chattering teeth. “Let’s keep looking.”
Pikachu, nestled in the front of his jacket, shoots Goh a look he can only really describe as mildly threatening. Not that he needed Pikachu’s confirmation, but the message is more than received.
“We could come back another day,” he says, carefully. “Snowpoint City is pretty close to here, right?”
“But it’s a beautiful day. Why would ya waste the chance?” He sneezes again and pats Pikachu’s head apologetically. “Sorry, buddy. I think your fur got up my nose.”
It’s true that the weather is perfect for Pokémon-catching today, and that the unpredictability of the northern climate may very well mean it will be weeks before an opportunity like this presents itself again. And Goh feels fine—he suspects Ash is feeling the chill a bit more deeply because of all the sleep he’s lost recently getting up early in the morning to train with his team.
Which is a…weird thought, because this is a quality of Ash’s he has always admired. When does tenacity morph into something more hostile to the eternal optimist espousing it? He files that away for later contemplation.
Finally, he heaves a sigh. It billows out in front of him dense and fluffy, like the wings of a Swablu.
“If you’re sure… But you could go back without me, too. I don’t really mind.”
Ash’s expression hardens. “You can’t stay here alone. If it starts to storm, you’ll be trapped. Let’s stick”—he sneezes again—“stick together. ‘Kay?”
“Well…okay.” Goh eyes him dubiously as Pikachu chitters in mild disapproval. “But if you need to go back, just say the word.”
Really, Goh should know better, but he doesn’t want to lose his chance to catch Pokémon he otherwise doesn’t see much. It’s only a few hours later when Ash collapses against a tree and his legs give out on him that Goh realizes it’s a lot more than a budding cold.
“Pikapi!” Pikachu pushes himself up in order to press his nose against Ash’s face, while Ash raises a weak arm to pat his head—or push him away—and mutters, “’M fine, Pikachu, don’t fuss.”
Goh picks his way over the snowbank between them and glowers down at him.
“You are not fine,” he snaps. “I thought you were going to tell me if you felt worse! You need to—”
He stops abruptly, as he feels a snowflake land on his nose. When he lifts a tentative hand in the air, more flakes than he can manage to count dissolve on his palm; some of them sting against the exposed skin between his glove and the sleeve of his jacket.
Ash groans. It sounds more as if he is in pain than irritated at the sudden turn of the weather.
“Look, let’s just—we can make it back to the Pokémon Centre, okay? Let me help you.”
Goh steps forward, but has to stop before he can reach a hand down to Ash as a sudden forceful gust threatens to knock him off his feet too. He grits his teeth and looks down at Ash and Pikachu, his frustration melting into alarm almost immediately when he sees sweat beading his forehead beneath the brim of his hat.
“Okay, Goh, think,” he mutters to himself. “What’s the quickest way back to the Pokémon Centre…?”
He stops as he sees Ash fumbling for one of his Poké Balls. A sense of immense stupidity washes over him when it opens up to reveal Dragonite, who immediately leans down to pull her trainer back up to his feet.
His grip remains on her even once he is standing, clearly the only thing keeping him upright. His other hand comes up to pat her arm weakly in thanks. “’S’not too far to fly,” he promises. “Not a blizzard yet, but ya never know. C’mon, Goh.”
It’s the sound of his own name that finally forces Goh to approach. Ash doesn’t climb on Dragonite right away; the fierce trembling in his legs tells Goh he ought to do so first, so he can pull Ash up after him. It isn’t easy, but they manage, and once Dragonite lifts off from the ground, he slumps against Goh’s back and sucks in a deep, rattling breath.
“Sorry,” he says, very quietly. “Cold.”
Goh swallows hard against the lump trying to form in his throat. “Yeah. It’s okay. We’ll be there soon.”
It thankfully is the truth, too, for in only a handful of minutes he makes out a faint glow of red beneath the flurry of white. The snow has picked up somewhat, but Dragonite doesn’t let it deter her. For Ash’s sake, Goh supposes; there is no doubt of the fierce loyalty he has earned from all his Pokémon.
She lands just in front of the Pokémon Centre, breathing hard from the exertion. When Goh helps Ash come down from her back, he falls against her and does the same.
“Thanks a bunch,” he tells her. His words string together, barely perceptible through the heaviness of his fatigue. “Take a good rest, ‘kay?”
Goh takes Ash’s arm and wraps it around his own neck to keep him standing after he has recalled Dragonite. Pikachu peers up at him from where he is nestled in Ash’s jacket with wide, pleading eyes.
“Inside,” he says with a small tug to get Ash’s feet moving. “Almost there.”
Neither of them speaks again until they make it through the door and Nurse Joy greets them. Her smile falls as soon as her eyes land on Ash, however. In no time at all, she is there helping Goh guide him to a chair.
“Caught in the storm?” she asks, sympathetic.
Ash has slumped over in the chair and gives no response, so Goh tells her, “I think he’s sick. I thought… He said he wasn’t, but the cold…”
Nurse Joy hums. She kneels down in front of Ash and Pikachu, peering up to get a look at his face.
“Ash?” she probes. “Can you look at me? It’s Nurse Joy at the Snowpoint City Pokémon Centre.”
He lifts his head slightly, though doesn’t seem completely aware of her. Gently, she reaches a hand out to touch his face, lips turning down in a concerned frown as she does.
“I think you’d better stay the night,” she says. Turning back to Goh and standing at her full height, she adds, “Some warm fluids and rest are the best solution. He’ll probably be feeling better in the morning. Let me find you a room for the night, all right?”
Despite his best efforts, the lump lodged in his throat has gone nowhere. His voice is very small when he says, “Okay.”
She turns away and makes her way back to the counter. Goh only watches her a moment before a feeble “Pikapi” draws his attention back to Ash and Pikachu.
Ash reaches a hand up to stroke Pikachu’s head. It is shaking so badly he nearly misses. “Don’t worry ‘bout me, Pikachu. I’m okay s’long as you are.”
Goh can only manage to stand and watch, uncomfortably aware that there’s nothing he can do. He should have insisted earlier. He should have noticed sooner than he did. He should have…
“Ash,” he suddenly remembers. “Ash, you should leave Dragonite with Nurse Joy. She’s probably weak from flying through the snow.”
Ash pulls his hand back away from Pikachu and places it over the Poké Balls strapped to his belt. But he does not take Dragonite’s off; his fingers twitch over top of it, as if defensively.
“Dragon types don’t do well in snow,” Goh reminds him. “She might have some frostbite or something. You’re not in any condition to do anything about that yourself.”
Ash recoils slightly. Upon closer inspection, Goh sees that his eyes are glassy; his teeth are chattering too much for him to speak.
At that moment, Nurse Joy returns with a room key, which she hands off to Goh. She smiles kindly at them both.
“Is there anything else you need from me? I was already preparing some soup, so I’ll have it brought up to you once it’s ready.”
“Ash’s Dragonite flew us back here. She seemed tired, so…”
Nurse Joy nods in understanding, then turns to face Ash. “I can take a look at her, Ash.”
Ash’s hand wraps around her Poké Ball, but he doesn’t take it off his belt. “Too cold,” he mutters. “They’ve gotta stay in their balls.”
Goh frowns. “C’mon, Ash, we’re at the Pokémon Centre. It’s perfectly safe here.”
After a beat wherein Ash does not move at all, Pikachu reaches down to pry his hands away from Dragonite’s ball. The reaction is immediate.
“Pikachu! Stop!” He tries to get his hand back in position, but is shivering so violently he doesn’t quite manage before the ball clatters to the floor. His lips thin and he lets out a little hiss, but Goh stoops down to pick it up before Ash can even think of it.
“Just a quick check-up,” Nurse Joy promises as Goh wordlessly passes Dragonite’s ball off to her. “She doesn’t even need to come out of her ball for it. I’ll send it back up with the soup. Why don’t you go get some rest?”
She turns away before Ash can respond, but he doesn’t seem keen on doing so anyway; his head is bowed, hands braced in trembling fists against his knees. Pikachu crawls up from his lap to his shoulder and rubs against his cheek. He doesn’t relax even a bit, which seems just as concerning to Pikachu as it feels to Goh.
Goh leans down to offer Ash his hand. A long moment passes before Ash reaches up and grasps it; Goh releases his held breath in a relieved sigh and tightens his hold to hoist him up to feet. It is effortful work, but they eventually make it to the room Nurse Joy assigned them to. A testament to her charitable insight, it is not far from the front at all.
While Pikachu jumps down and rushes for a bed immediately, Ash stands at the door a moment, swaying slightly on his feet. Goh takes him by the elbow and directs him to follow Pikachu. He sinks into the mattress and wraps his arms around himself. In spite of the warm roof over the head and all the wintergear he’s wearing, he is still shivering.
“Why don’t you take off your jacket?” Goh suggests. “You’ll overheat if you leave it on.”
If anything, he just wraps his arms around himself more tightly. He takes in a deep breath and pushes himself up on the bed so he can lean against the headboard. Pikachu jumps up on his lap and settles down there, apparently with no intention of leaving anytime soon.
Goh sighs. “That can’t be comfortable. Come on.”
“Cold,” is the whining response he gets.
“That’s just— It’s because you have a fever, Ash. Your brain is telling you you’re cold but your temperature’s actually higher than usual and you don’t want to make it worse, so…”
Before Ash can protest further—as Goh can tell he wants to, even as he lacks the energy for it—they are interrupted by a knock on the door. Goh opens it to see a beaming Nurse Joy. She pushes a tray with two steaming bowls and Dragonite’s Poké Ball toward him.
“I hope you’re both getting comfortable,” she says cheerfully. “If you need anything at all, don’t be afraid to ask. It’s quiet tonight, so I don’t mind helping out!”
Goh accepts the tray, careful to position it so that the fine trembling of his hands doesn’t result in spilled soup. He forces a smile on his face. “Thanks a lot, Nurse Joy. We really appreciate it.”
“It’s what I’m here for.” Her eyes slide briefly to Ash, but she must not see anything too concerning, because then she steps back and says, “Good night!”
When the door closes again, Goh is quick to find somewhere to set the tray down. He hands Dragonite’s Poké Ball back to Ash, who immediately relaxes once it is back on his belt.
“Thanks,” he manages after a moment. “What smells so good?”
Under any other circumstances, Goh would have rolled his eyes at that, but Ash’s renewed interest in food is so relieving he instead finds himself smiling a bit, genuinely this time.
“Soup,” he says. “And you can have some as soon as you take off your jacket and everything.”
Ash grumbles about a bit, but eventually sheds his winter clothes and drops his backpack on the ground beside the bed. Though he doesn’t look happy about it, Pikachu vacates his lap and curls up beside him instead.
Goh passes him one of the bowls. He wastes no time in digging in.
“It seems like you’re feeling a bit better already,” Goh remarks.
“Hm?” Ash swallows, blinking. As the comment registers, a guarded look crosses his face. “I guess. I don’t really like the cold.”
“That feels like an understatement,” Goh says before he can even really think about it. He regrets it as soon as he sees Ash’s shoulders hunch up.
“Bad memories,” is all he says, and Goh is too uncomfortable to ask for anything more.
They finish their meal in silence, except for the occasional sniffle from Ash. Aside from any sinus issues, though, he looks significantly better when Goh takes his empty bowl back. Eyes wide and alert—present, rather than…whatever they were before. His expression is somewhat grave, but not any more so than would be expected for someone riding out a fever.
Goh sets their dishes aside, then straightens up and says, “She didn’t bring any food for our Pokémon, so I’m gonna go get some, all right?”
Ash doesn’t respond right away; when Goh glances back at him, he looks…small.
“What? Do you need something?”
“I just…” He looks away. Sniffles. Says, very quietly, “Please don’t leave me.”
Goh stares at him. He blinks a few times. Opens his mouth, and then closes it, and then finally manages to ask, “What?”
If his face weren’t already so flushed from his fever, Goh wonders if it would have reddened from the same emotion that clenches his hands into fists in his lap.
“Never mind,” Goh says, quickly. “I can stay a while longer. Do you…?”
Without a word, Ash nudges Pikachu and they both scoot over to make some space on his other side. Ash still doesn’t look up at him, but the message is more than received.
Goh has barely sat down before Ash is leaning against him. He’s still trembling, but suddenly Goh isn’t sure that’s entirely thanks to his fever. Awkwardly, he wraps an arm around him and holds him closer, as if he could put a stop to it if he tries hard enough.
It doesn’t stop completely, but he feels when Ash begins to relax. He looks over at Pikachu, whose head rests against Ash’s thigh, and knows that their Pokémon won’t mind waiting a few minutes longer for their dinner. It isn’t just his own Pokémon’s loyalty Ash has earned, after all.
Once his breathing has deepened a bit, Ash murmurs, “Thanks.”
Goh doesn’t say anything. He just holds him a bit tighter, content to stay where exactly where he is until Ash falls asleep.

Kaon was a little cold. It was cold in her Winter themed tavern. Of course, that wasn't going to make Escanor, Monspeet or Ban put any more clothes on. Though...
"Remind me again, whose bright idea was the uniform?" Galand asked her. The pikachu looked up at him. He also wore an apron, but refused to remove his armour. Not that she was bothered by that.
"Meliodas. I chose who was wearing it... but he said that the men's uniform was just an apron." She told him. Hence why he, and the aforementioned men, were wearing only aprons. Though... convincing them to fold the apron down to flash their muscles hadn't happened yet. She wished it would, the guys in question were lush!
"Did he pick this too?" Jericho asked. It was the tavern hostess uniform. Kaon nodded her head, decepticon necklace clattering off the table as she did. It earned a sigh from the purple haired girl. All of them jumped when there was a knock on the door. Kaon made her way over, pulling the door open with magic. A spiky shadow was in the doorway.
"Ah. Monspeet, get over here." Kaon gestured with her paw.
"L-Like this?" He asked, a little nervous. Out of her chosen staff... he was most bothered wandering around wearing only an apron. Kaon, and the other ladies who visited, very much approved.
"Yeah, I sent a recruitment request out. And your lady answered." Kaon had to grin at the look on his face. One of shock that quickly morphed to joy. He darted over, Kaon springing out of the way. The shadow seemed rather surprised by him grabbing it like this.
"I think he missed you." Kaon said with a grin. Derieri looked rather bemused, but slid her arms around him to hug back. And grinned.
"I like the uniform. Do all the guys wear it?" She asked, her hands sliding down to have a feel. Galand started laughing, because Monspeet was becoming rather flustered. Kaon grinned.
"Yep. Like all the ladies who staff my tavern wear the hostess uniform. Which will mean you." She gave the pikachu a look, letting go of her partner. Monspeet leaned his back against the wall, aware Kaon and Jericho were checking him out.
"Fine." She answered with a sigh. That made the pikachu cheer.
"He needs to show his chest." She pointed over her shoulder. Monspeet's cheeks went red.
I wrote that little snippet because Derieri got added to Idle Adventure today... Which then made me question...
Where did all my gems go?
I want that image of the boys... my favourite boys... with only an apron on. Monspeet in particular.
...
I might have to draw that one.
