Pierre Leclair - Fumeur de pipe parfait
Tumblr media
An episode of Faites Entrer l'Accusé brought me face to face with this pipe smoking bear of a man. I had to catch my breath.
Tumblr media
A French psychologist brought in to compile a profile of a serial rapist, he has everything: maturity, grey beard, piercing eyes and, of course, pipe, which he continues to smoke as he's being interviewed.
Tumblr media
He is, it goes without saying, my idea of the perfect man.
Tumblr media
A bear a man. I'd happily submit to whatever he wanted.

Note
Pierre also pronounces Charles' name in an English accent lol
I think it's the same with Charles: when speaking French, it's "Sharl Leclair", but when speaking English, he says "Charles Leclerc" (English pronunciation). On that episode of Spot the Imposter with Squeezie, Pierre called him "Sharl".
Thank you for giving me an excuse to look it up and re-watch some snippets of one of my all-time favourite videos.
And in case someone wants to watch the whole 45 minutes (trust me, you won't regret it!):
youtube
(Go into Settings > Audio track and select French Original if you want to hear the chaps talk instead of some dubbed English)

Feel like I'm always arriving late to these, sorry @epylonia for this arriving a couple days late and so many thanks for tagging me! 🥰🥰 🥰 You already know everything I'm working on rn 🤭, I'm gonna share a snippet of the 5+1 fic I told you about the other day (Snippet under the cut)
I'm tagging @fabbyf1, @drivestraight @celientjeee & @landoom (if you feel like it of course, no pressure! ^^)
Bahrain. 2017.
The first time Max watches it, it's not out of his own volition. Daniel shoves his phone in Max's face after dinner on a race Sunday with a glint in his eye, urging him to watch some onboard from the Formula 2 sprint.
"From P14 to P1 in 8 laps, mate." Daniel says, grinning as he waits for Max to take his phone, expectantly.
"It's just the sprint." Max says, not understanding why Daniel has all of a sudden taken an interest in Formula 2. He didn’t even care that much for Max – or Carlos – when they were in Toro Rosso, still doesn’t care about either Daniil now or Pierre, and it’s supposed to be their sister team. But here Daniel is, holding his phone out to Max, waiting for him to take it. After a couple more seconds of being on the receiving end of Daniel's encouraging stare, Max relents. "Who is it, anyway?" Max asks as he presses play.
The start is nothing to write home about. Whoever put together the onboard video agrees, because it jumps to lap 14 after the start.
"Prema rookie.” Daniel answers. Max looks up, frowning a bit at Daniel’s tone. But then Daniel adds, “Jules knew him”, and that's when it clicks. Max understands. And he knows who he’s talking about. “I think his name’s Leclair?"
"Leclerc." Max corrects him, gaze now focused on the screen as he watches his karting nemesis pit for softs and knows the comeback Daniel gushed about is about to start. It's a compilation, obviously half the turns being cut out – probably for effect and to make it seem even more impressive –, but Max knows even the best editing can't change a narrative if the backdrop of it didn't have the material to make this comeback meteoric. The end result is the same. The overtakes keep coming, and coming, and now Max can’t look away. It’s weird, watching it just from the onboard camera. He doesn’t even know how Daniel got access to this footage. Max didn’t even know F2 had onboard cameras fitted this year.

Tumblr media
I just can't resist this bear. Certainly, I love the beard, as well as the eyes and the mouth.
Tumblr media
But the way he wields his pipe is really something special.
Tumblr media
Those self-closed eyes as he savours his pipe smoke gets me every time.
Tumblr media
A simply beautiful example of a man. Enjoy.

"8 Medical Men Guilty," Windsor Star. February 22, 1943. Page 9. --- One Officer Dismissed From Army; Four Jail Sentences ---- QUEBEC, Feb. 22.-Eight of nine army medical officers and men who recently faced a general court martial here following alleged irregularities in medical examinations of army recruits have been found guilty, it was announced last night by Brig. E. A. Blais, officer commanding military district No. 5.
The announcement, made public last night after the eight had been paraded before Brig. Blais, also contained sentences which included, for the officers, one dismissal, one severe reprimand and rank penalty, one severe reprimand and one reprimand.
The other ranks were sentenced to periods of detention ranging from 45 days to nine months.
M.P. EXONERATED Of the nine men to face the court- all members of No. 5 company of the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps except one private-only one, Lieut. (acting captain) Pierre Gauthier, Bloc Canadien Populaire member of Parliament for Portneuf, was completely exonerated.
Findings and sentences of the court - presided over by Brig. J. A. Leclaire and which sat from November 25 to January 8 - were forwarded to Ottawa to the adjutant-general's department for confirmation before being announced.
OFFICERS AND SENTENCES Capt. G. A. Grondin, 43, of Quebec, was found guilty on a charge of accepting various sums of money during the performance of his military duties and was sentenced "to be dismissed from His Majesty's service."
Maj. Ludovic Lavallee, 52, of Neuville, Que., was acquitted of a charge of having examined various persons prior to their regular army medical board but was convicted of having accepted sums of money in connection with examinations and of having shared the money with another accused person.
He was sentenced to be severely reprimanded and given a rank penalty which will result in his majority being dated from January 8-date of the end of the court martial-instead of before (The date when Maj. Lavallee originally won his majority was not im- mediately available.)
Military sources and Antoine Rivard, K.C., who acted as defence counsel for the officers and men, said that the rank penalty meant Maj. Lavallee would forfeit his seniority for one year up to January 8.
Maj. Celestin Guimont, 34. of Pont Rouge, Que, was freed of charges of having examined persons prior to their regular army medical board but was found guilty of having accepted sums of money in connection with examinations. He was sentenced to a severe reprimand.
Capt. Yves Gadbois, 26, of Quebec, was sentenced to be reprimanded for having accepted $20 while performing his military duties.
Details of the reprimands were not made public in any case.
CASES OF OTHER RANKS In the cases of the other ranks, whose sentences start from January 8, Pte. Leopold Houde, 35, of Quebec drew the heaviest term - nine months' detention. He was found guilty of having accepted sums of money in the performance of his duties and of having distributed the money among other medical personnel.
Pte. Georges Fortin, 24, of Quebec, who faced the same charges as Houde, was acquitted on the second count but was sentenced to 90 days' detention on the first charge.
Pte. Louis Philippe Hamel, 25, of Quebec, charged similarly to Houde and Fortin, also was given 90 days.
Pte. Paul Henri Cloutier, 19, of Charlesbourg. Que., only man to enter a plea of guilty and a member of No. 5 district depot, was given 45 days detention on a charge of having accepted bribes.
There was no question of irregularities in the medical examinations themselves, the court emphasized.
MEMBERS OF COURT The court was composed of Brig. Leclaire; Col. J. R. Roche, Le Regiment de Maisonneuve; Lt. Col. G. E. Bouchard. Le Regiment de la Chau- diere; Lt.-Col. C. L. Laurin, Le Regiment de Chateauguay; Lt.-Col. G. L.. Taschereau, Le Regiment de la Chaudiere: Lt. Col. P. Trudeau, Les Fusiliers Mont-Royal and Maj. R. G. Marion, Les Fusiliers Mont Royal.
Maj. Maurice Lalonde acted as judge advocate and Lt.-Col. Laval Fortier was Crown prosecutor. Antoine Rivard, K.C., acted for the officers and men.
Mr. Rivard said he would make an appeal against the judgments "to competent authorities."

How Three Countries Started Claiming The Origins Of French Fries
How Three Countries Started Claiming The Origins Of French Fries
France, America, and Belgium have been claiming that this potato dish was first made in their country. America is also not behind among those claiming to have made the French fries for the first time. French Fries are one of the most popular dishes. From children to adults, almost everybody loves to have French Fries occasionally. But have you ever wondered about the origins of this dish? The…

lol i think the reason why the FIA gives zero fucks about having the races scheduled according to their region/continent or relative closeness is because:
1. its not like the drivers and/or the crew stay within the country they race in when there are gaps (1-2 weeks break) before going to the next country on the schedule. they alw come back to their home countries (i.e usually monaco, france, uk and switzerland) anyways THEN proceed to the next venue. WHICH BTW isnt economical or environmental friendly lol
2. this might be the reason why they’re increasing double/triple headers which are SLIGHTLY more economical since they’ll proceed to the next venue right away BUT STILL.. the geographical location difference aren’t efficient AND it puts a strain on the crew
3. the fia are dumb fucks
4. money (i.e gaining)

Churchill “Church” Darling → Michael B. Jordan, Anthony Mackie, Zoe Kravitz, and Alfie Enoch → Human Shifter
→ Basic Information
Age: 298
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Bisexual
Birthday: February 28
Zodiac Sign: Pisces
Religion: Deism
→ His Personality Churchill has never been one to overshare. He’s got a way with making friends with almost anyone and an ability to talk his way out of any problems, but few reach past that surface and into the well that is Churchill Darling. He holds almost no connections to his past, and has crafted an identity as someone who could 35 or 500. Church gives off an attitude of fearing nothing; and for much of his life it was the truth. He murdered and cheated others for decades in Paris, taking over rich men’s lives to make his fortune. Churchill often felt invincible in those days, which carries into his personality. For the majority of his life he has preferred to remain unattached to both his biological family and to whatever Human Shifter Family he is living with.
That has begun to change somewhat recently. He’s found himself taking younger members of the Family under his wing. He has also begun to make friends with people outside of the family like Max Vanes. This may have something to do with his promotion to 2nd of the Family a few years back. He was initially very hesitant to take it, especially since it cemented him staying in the city for a while. It’s given him a purpose he didn’t have previously and has helped him become less selfish. He still holds a strong cynical streak however and enjoys the aspects of lying and embracing another personality.
→ His Personal Facts
Occupation: 2nd of the Human Shifters and Forensic Computer Analyst
Scars: Depends on Shifter
Tattoos: Depends on Shifter

→ His Connections
Parent Names:
Aufondet Leclair (Father): Churchill’s father was a murderous cheat who made a habit of stealing other human shifters’ faces. He managed to find Churchill in Paris despite the numerous face changes, and it was there that Church took him out to avoid having his secret exposed to the residing supernaturals of Paris.
Ermelina De Saint-Pierre (Mother): Churchill’s mother was the oldest human shifter in their Family. They resided primarily in the French countryside and had a village entirely made up of human shifters. Churchill left soon after turning 20, seeking a life far away from any human shifters. Ermelina is apparently still alive, though Church hasn’t spoken to his mother since he left France.
Sibling Names:
Tola De Saint-Pierre (Sister): From what Church has heard throughout the years is that Tola took over much of the roles his mother once had when she decided to retire. He has not spoken to Tola since he left France.
Mahalt De Saint-Pierre (Sister): Mahalt briefly stayed in Chicago during the 1950s. Throughout her time here, Churchill said nothing of who he was or their relation. She married a member of Patch’s original clan and moved away.
Children Names:
None
Romantic Connections:
None - None of his previous partners made much of an impact on him.
Platonic Connections:
Jev “Patch” Cipriano (Best Friend): Church and Patch enjoy finding trouble. They have the same relaxed, chilled out attitude and sense of humor. Church trusts Patch completely, and he is one of the few who knows parts of his past. They live together in an apartment downtown.
Robert J. Fischer (Best Friend): Church and Robert clicked as soon as they met unexpectedly. While their histories are nowhere near the same, they both enjoyed taking faces and living as the person they wear. Robert, Churchill, Vincent and Patch all shared one apartment until recently, when Robert was tasked with running for mayor.
Vincent Kane (Best Friend): Vincent and Churchill have known each other for approximately 180 years. They have formed a bond stronger than most people, and he is one of the few who knows parts of Church’s past. They live together in an apartment downtown.
Sirius Cobic (Old Friend):  Churchill has a lot of difficulty being tied down. He ran away from his Family as a young man, and hasn’t ever fully been as connected to other human shifters until recently. Much of that is due to Sirius’s leadership and willingness to let him be who he is. Sirius doesn’t infantilize him and respects the fact that he can protect himself.
Adelaide Blanchett (New Friend): Addie is one of the human shifters Church has found himself taking under his wing. She’s smart and has a way of working a room, however Church sees a similar edge under it all and knows that Addie has a history and wants to know it. He likes her, and hopes to get her to join the IT department after she quits being a lawyer.
Darren Shaw (Friendly): Darren regularly goes out with Winston, Churchill, and Douglas. They aren’t close, but they get along well.
Winston Abioye (Good Friend): Doug, Winston, and Church have formed their own group. All of them willing to go passed the line to do what needs to be done. Church helped take down the Jenkins family with Winston and Doug. Churchill is also the godfather to his son, Tafari.
Douglas Gish (Good Friend): Doug, Winston, and Church have formed their own group. All of them willing to go passed the line to do what needs to be done. Church is one of the few that gets the occasional glimpse behind Douglas’s persona.
Kate Brooks (Friendly): Church works with Kate occasionally, and has been brought in by Patch to hook her up with Ryan. He likes her, but thinks that she’s too smart for her own good; he can easily see her figuring out that her coworkers are not human.
Ryan Cleirigh (Friend): Patch introduced Church and Ryan, and he found that he clicked instantly with him as well. Church is a regular on the podcast, and a part of the scheme to get Ryan a girlfriend.
Max Vanes (Friendly Informant): Church likes Max, but can’t help but be suspicious of her intentions, especially when he’s seen who she goes home to. He’s approaching the idea with an open mind, but is holding her at arms length.
Art Milligan Jr (Friend): Arthur and Church have a shared love of darker nights and activities away from the usual ‘right and wrong’. Church is a judgement free zone and Arthur often comes to him with his problems.
Greta Bow (Good Friend): Churchill has become one of Greta’s secret keepers. She has begun shifting sporadically when emotional and reverting to an old face that seems to have separated from her true personality as a defense mechanism. Patch and Church are trying to help her by befriending this form. Church has a feeling that Sirius has caught on, but he’s not going to expose Greta’s secret unless asked about it directly.
Hostile Connections:
Jaxson Idris (Hates): Church enjoys playing Cat and Mouse with the rats. However, Jaxson takes it past amusement and Church has come much more vicious with his tactics lately.
James Montgomery (Hates): He doesn’t know what Montgomery’s deal is with the Human Shifters and Sirius specifically. By his calculations, it’s the rats that have bullied nearly every other species into submission, not them. If anyone should be taken down it should be the miniature extortionists.
Angel Landyn (Hates): Church has considered making Angel disappear in the past. Greta is the only thing stopping him from doing so.
