 One day we will all be old and wrinkly, and the beauty that we once treasured for ourselves and others, will be gone. That's why it's important to love ourselves, and others, for who we are; how we treat each other for merely being imperfect human beings needs to be resolved.

 I think it’s especially important to complement our daughters more for their efforts and virtues than for their physical beauty. The society we live in today puts too much emphasis on a woman's looks. And it's sad, but people get treated in certain ways based on their looks. Let's teach our girls that their inner beauty will always outshine their physical beauty. Their inner beauty is an integral part of who they are while the beauty of the flesh is only temporary even for the most beautiful of people.

I bet you didn’t know that I used to HATE looking at myself in the mirror. I’ve always had body image issues and insecurities. Even after eating right and losing the lbs on the scale I still wasn’t happy with the reflection in the mirror. 💕 Let me just inform you of something. It’s a complete mindset. I finally can see myself not based off of a number on a scale or the size of my pants but based off of what I’ve trained my mind to see. I eat consciously and work out daily and Altho the # on the scale doesn’t move much, my body transforms daily. 💕 I’m stronger than I’ve ever been. My endurance is better than ever. And I am seeing myself more and more beautiful and sexy in the body God gave me, I’m just revising it to look the way I want by putting in the work. 💕 I say all that to remind you that no matter how many lbs you lose or how small your clothes get, if you don’t change your mindset about yourself you will always strive to be something you might already be physically. Even with a perfectly proportioned face though, there are endless variations in coloring and the shapes of each facial feature (eyes, eyebrows, lips, nose, etc.) that give rise to the distinctive appearance of each race and provide for endless variations in beauty that are as unique as each individual.The human face communicates an incredible array of emotions which are an integral element of one’s total beauty.  The human face conforms most closely to phi proportions when we smile.  You’ll be perceived as more beautiful with a warm smile than with a cold-hearted look of anger, arrogance or contempt.

Interestingly, symmetry in the face does not necessarily equate to beauty.  Many, if not most, faces that are perceived as beautiful are usually not even close to being perfect in symmetry of the left and right sides.  Perfect symmetry tends to result in a face that appears unnatural, animated or robot-like.

Other factors influence perceptions of beauty as well, including skin tone, health and age.

More importantly, the application of the golden ratio to beauty refers only to physical beauty, and that is only one element of what defines true beauty in humans.  The saying “beauty is only skin deep” reflects this.  Physical beauty is fleeting and passes with time.  Other qualities of the mind and soul are the substance of true beauty.
