[ad_1] Diving : The Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced that the Philippines won the Best Diving Destination award at the 2024 Diving Resort Travel (DRT) Show held earlier this month in Beijing. Aside from this, the country also won the Best Tourism Promotion Partnership award at the same event. In an official statement to the media, Philippine ambassador to China Jaime FlorCruz said that the citations are proof that the current administration’s efforts to present the country as a premier global diving destination are working. FlorCruz likewise cited the huge revenue potential in strengthening this particular niche in the Philippine tourism sector. In the past year, diving contributed around PHP 73 billion to the tourism industry’s revenues, twice what it contributed in 2022. Not resting on its laurels At present, the Philippines is focused on developing a number of specialized tourism segments, with dive tourism at the top of its list of priorities. Earlier this year, the Department of Tourism (DOT) announced plans to establish additional five hyperbaric chambers in key dive destinations in the country including Puerto Galera in Oriental Mindoro, Boracay, Cebu, Negros Oriental, as well as Camiguin. The five hyperbaric chambers augment the capacity of the 15 chambers currently in use across the country. To date, the Philippine Commission on Sports Scuba Diving has developed and audited at least 120 dive destinations for both local and foreign diving enthusiasts. Source link

COMMEMORATIVE MESSAGE IN HONOR OF THE 189TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE END OF THE JUNE REBELLION AND THE 77TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE D-DAY SEABORNE LANDINGS
Ladies and gentlemen, to all the people of the United States of America and Canada, to all our remaining living veterans of the Second World War of 1939-1945 and of all conflicts past and present and their families, to our veterans, active servicemen and women, reservists and families of the entire United States Armed Forces and Canadian Armed Forces, and to all the uniformed military and civil security services of the Allied combatants of this conflict, to all the immediate families, relatives, children and grandchildren of the deceased veterans, fallen service personnel and wounded personnel of our military services and civil uniformed security and civil defense services, to all our workers, farmers and intellectuals, to our youth and personnel serving in youth uniformed and cadet organizations and all our athletes, coaches, judges, sports trainers and sports officials, and to all our sports fans, to all our workers of culture, music, traditional arts and the theatrical arts, radio, television, digital media and social media, cinema, heavy and light industry, agriculture, business, tourism and the press, and to all our people of the free world:
Today, in the midst of the global pandemic, and with the end now in sight with vaccinations being done in many countries, we once more honor two memorable events of our history.
189 years ago, in 1832 at a cost of hundreds of lives, the Paris Rebellion of July 1832 was ended when Frnech Army servicemen crushed the rebellion of students and workersof the capital demanding moral reforms and for France’s stronger foreign policies and stronger military so that it can help European independence movements.
77 years ago, under the overall leadership of the Supreme Allied Commander Europe General Dwight Eisenhower, with the paratroopers that had landed earlier having met their landing objectives and were now fighting behind enemy lines, a million-strong multinational landing force made up of personnel from many Allied national armed forces, mainly composed of personnel from the United Kingdom, Canada, United States and France, together with forces from many more countries, with naval and air support also from multinational forces, landed on 5 pre-designated beaches in Normandy in France, which had been under Axis occupation for over 4 years. This second front would finally begin as in each of these beaches, regardless of enemy resistance and full of determination and courage, these infantrymen, gunners, tankers and support personnel landed on the soils of occupied western Europe to begin the long awaited Allied military operations for the liberation of this part of the world, one that they have prepared for years, just as their fellow servicemen where fighting in Italy, Eastern Europe, and Yugoslavia. The D-Day seaborne landings were one of the first ever in modern times to be successfully conducted and thus proved to be a historic victory, the first of many that would finally bring an an end of the Nazi occupation of most of Europe and bring fascism to a smashing defeat. Working hand in hand, these men and women of the Allied Powers provided the manpower and equipment for the success of one of the greatest amphibious operations of modern history.
As the days and hours came and went, the victory of Normandy would be the first of many victories won in mainland Western Europe by the Allies, the first on the long road to the great victory in the spring of 1945 and the surrender of Germany to the triumphant Allied Powers. It was indeed thanks to these millions of men and women whose bravery and determination, at the cost of thousands of lives lost to the Axis, made the D-Day operation a success as they pushed opened the door towards the long road of victory against Nazi Germany.
Today, we honor and celebrate these two great events that will forever be a part of human history. Forever remembered in books, theater, visual arts, radio and television, these two great events are forever a part of our heritage and our common memory, as these have no dobut became a part of the long history of the human race. Spread on the same day years apart, they deserve to be remembered and commemorated today for generation after generation.
The heroes of 1832 fought for their country’s place in the world, the heroes of 1944 fought for global freedom and independence against Nazi Germany and international fascism. Then as in today, no matter what the situation in the world may be today, we will never let the memories of these events fade and promise once more to let the legacy live on for our future generations, for the sake of our dreams and goals for a better world!
Today, as we mark Canadian Armed Forces Day and Swedish National Day, we also thank the men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces and the Swedish Armed Forces for the service and determination for the defense of the freedom and sovereignty of their countries, as well as for the protection of their people and national interests.
LONG LIVE THE 189TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE 1832 JUNE REBELLION!
LONG LIVE THE 77TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THE D-DAY OFFENSIVE OF 1944!
ETERNAL GLORY TO ALL THOSE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR THE FREEDOM AND INDEPENDENCE OF OUR WORLD!

DOT vows promotion of Batangas dive tourism
#PHnews: DOT vows promotion of Batangas dive tourism
MANILA – Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat on Wednesday vowed to support the continued development of dive tourism in Anilao, Batangas, otherwise known as the birthplace of scuba diving in the Philippines.
During the stakeholders meeting hosted by Mabini Mayor Noel Luistro, Romulo-Puyat encouraged the dive establishment operators, to "strictly uphold" health and safety protocols as well as to work together to improve the readiness of their area for dive tourism during the quarantine period and onwards to the new normal.
“The Department is hard at work not only for the slow but sure reopening of our destinations but also on the persistent but guarded development of the dive tourism industry,” she said.
While Batangas has been opened for divers since October 2020, Romulo-Puyat said challenges remain, including the non-compliance of some dive establishments on the minimum health and safety guidelines, the low revenue and high unemployment rates, the lack of trained medical personnel to operate the hyperbaric chamber, the need for installation and maintenance of mooring buoys to protect dive sites, and the high cost of Covid-19 tests, among others.
For its part, the Philippine Commission on Sports Scuba Diving committed to continuing waiving the accreditation fees for dive establishments and professionals; conducting subsidized training; organizing events that will attract guests; providing either online or hybrid platforms for selling and promoting dive packages.
“We must continue to hold hands and use this period as an opportune time to reassess our programs, projects, and activities to make them more responsive to the needs of the dive tourism sector,” Romulo-Puyat said.
As of Dec. 5, the DOT Region 4A (Calabarzon) has issued 51 Provisional Certificates of Authority to Operate (PCAO) to dive establishments in Mabini, Batangas, 28 of which are PCSSD-accredited.
Anilao has more than 40 documented dive sites and serves as a playground to underwater macro photographers due to the notable presence of nudibranchs and other critters.
It consistently leads as a macro diving destination in several global surveys of world-renowned dive media such as Scuba Diving Magazine’s Readers Choice Awards and Sport Diver.
At present, only dive activities are allowed in Batangas as the province remains under general community quarantine wherein leisure travel is not yet allowed. (PNA)

Montara Hospitality Unveils Details of Tri Vananda Wellness Project in Phuket
Thailand's Montara Hospitality Group has unveiled plans to develop a comprehensive health and wellness residential community in Phuket, Thailand. Scheduled for completion in 2022, Montara is investing over THB 6,600 million (USD 220 million) in the development of Tri Vananda, which they say will be one of Asia’s largest and most comprehensive wellness residential communities. Tri Vananda will feature 298 villas, anchored by a wellness resort specializing in integrative and functional medicine and cognitive wellbeing, in a sprawling hillside setting dotted with lakes and gardens 20 minutes from Phuket International Airport. Tri Vananda's health center will offer consultation rooms, physiotherapy and TCM treatment rooms, a cognitive health center, and facilities for health diagnostics aimed at treating residents and guests with tailored programs.
A mindfulness center on the lake will have an indoor hall and outdoor areas for meditation. Also situated on the lake will be a spa with thermal rooms, relaxation areas, a hammam, private spa suites, and a fitness center with a 50-meter swimming pool, gym, sauna, juice bar and lake pier for recreational water sports. Finally, a dedicated club designed for children will help to foster a wellness-led lifestyle for younger community members. Two and three-bedroom solar-powered residential villas ranging in size from 270 square meters to 750 square meters have been designed by Habita Architects, renowned for their nature-focused work, together with Arsom Silp Institute of the Arts. The teams in both firms are led by National Artists and UNESCO-recognised architects. Interior design will be helmed by the award-winning P49 Deesign. “With the future in mind, Tri Vananda will be a multigenerational community rooted in a way of life based on the principles of wellness, sustainability and hospitality. Here, our residents and guests will enjoy some of the most fundamental and cherished attributes for overall wellbeing like clean air and nature, which are increasingly lost in urban settings, while having access to proven health and wellness therapies and programs,” said Montara's CEO, Kittisak Pattamasaevi. Villa sales start in July 2020. See latest Travel News, Interviews, Podcasts and other news regarding: Wellness, Montara, Phuket. MESSAGE IN HONOR OF THE 189TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE BEGINNING OF THE PARIS REVOLT AND THE 77TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THE D-DAY AIRBORNE OFFENSIVE
As the whole world enters a new chapter in the long struggle against the COVID-19 pandemic with the arrival of vaccines, we today mark two very important anniversaries in world history, two very important milestones in the history of humanity.
Today we honor the anniversary of the beginning of the 1832 June Rebellion, which occurred in the French capital, Paris, as a republican rebellion of students, industry workers and common people calling for France to uphold its duty as the protector of freedoms of the peoples of the world, as a result of the failed Polish November Uprising months before, so that France and her armed forces could come to the aid of independence movements in the continent.
And today marks the 77th year anniversary since the beginning of one of the greatest airborne operations of the Second World War in the European Theater of Operations. The D-Day airborne landings, the first part of the memorable air and seaborne operations that began the long road for the liberation of western parts of Europe, took place exactly 77 years ago as airborne units from the United States, British and French Armies began to land in designated areas of Normandy in France in advance of the million-strong amphibious landing forces that were to disembark the following day. These paratroopers, including personnel of Easy Company of the 2nd Battalion, 506th PIR, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), were the first wave of solder liberators of Western Europe, whose landings were the first steps towards the first great victory of the Western Front – the victorious liberation of parts of Normandy from Nazi Germany, the first of many to be liberated from the aggression of the Axis Powers. The bravery and courage shown by these paratroopers enabled the amphibious solders, gunners and armored crews, assisted by sailors and aircraft pilots and crews, to make the landings happen.
Today, as we honor the twin anniversaries of these two events, we honor and remember these events’ contributions to the long history of the human race, and the need to forever sustain the memory of these events in our consciousness because of the fact that these events have been forever immortalized in many forms of art, including in literature like Hugo’s Les Miserables and Ambrose’s Band of Brothers, in theater and television. We will never forget the immortal legacy left behind by these events to our history, and we pledge to forever keep them in our hearts for generation upon generation. We will forever cherish those who died during these two great events and carry on the lessons learned and the memory of such great events in our times.
Today, as the world comes closer to the end of the long pandemic that was the cause of the cancellation of the festivities last year in honor of the 76th year of D-Day, in recalling the brave heroes of our times in the form of the medical workers, all essential public and private sector workers and all members of our military, law enforcement and emergency services, we remember once more the heroes of 1832 and 1944 and always pledge to forever honor and remember such immortal legacies today and for the years and decades more to come, for the sake of our children and grandchildren and for the hope of a better world and a more civilized and united society!
ETERNAL GLORY TO ALL THOSE WHO FOUGHT AGAINST THE FORCES OF FASCISM AND LIBERATED A WORLD FROM THE THREATS AND EVIL ACTIONS OF THE AXIS POWERS IN EUROPE AND NORTHERN AFRICA!
And in honor of the 77th year anniversary of the great baptism of fire of the 101st Airborne Division, and to the entire HBO War Fandom who for all time will always remember this very moment in history as depicted in the 2nd episode of the award winning 2001 HBO miniseries “Band of Brothers”:
LONG LIVE EASY COMPANY, 2ND BATTALION, 506TH PARACHUTE INFANTRY REGIMENT, 3RD BRIGADE COMBAT TEAM, 101ST AIRBORNE DIVISION (AIR ASSAULT), XVIII AIRBORNE CORPS, UNITED STATES ARMY! CURRAHEE! AIR ASSAULT! ARMY STRONG! HOOOAH!!

How much is it? Prices in New Zealand
Camper hire New Zealand
But in most areas, and especially in summer, campfires are not allowed. Because especially in summer the risk of forest fires is too high. If you want to grill, you can do it with a gas grill, charcoal grills are rare in New Zealand and rarely allowed. The absolute highlight of this route is the largest lake in New Zealand.
How long is the longest flight?
Our New Zealand travel budget for flights looked short and sweet: Flights with Lufthansa / Air New Zealand from Dresden to Christchurch (back from Auckland) with a stopover in Tokyo: 1,507 euros per adult, 1,220 euros per child = 5,454 euros. Travel cancellation insurance (Hanse Merkur): 23 euros per person = 92 euros.
In addition, the toilet must meet certain requirements in terms of size and scope. We use cookies to personalize content and ads and to analyze access to our website. In the following section you can see how long the season lasts in New Zealand and what changes during these seasons. The next stop in Rotorua will surprise you with geysers, hot lakes and mud pools before continuing on to the country's youngest thermal area to Frying Pan Lake. Of course that was also lucky, but we have an overview of about 20 partner companies and can act much faster than the individual customer who has to call all companies individually. Find out when the best time to travel to the Philippines is from climate data and a lot of information. The Bay of Hawke's Bay and the beautiful wine growing areas it contains, as well as the Central Volcanic Plateau located in Tongariro National Park, are not far away. With its three gigantic and wonderful peaks, it is a great place for a visit in summer and in winter, since you can hike equally well there, but also do winter sports.
Just get in touch with us and we will see what we can price and inform you again in detail regarding
All distances are given in kilometers and speeds in kilometers per hour.

Winter In winter, from around June to August, you can whiz down the wonderful snow slopes or experience a snow hike .
The German Tourism Award is one of the most important awards in the German tourism industry. The German Tourism Association has been awarding the innovation prize for forward-looking projects in Germany tourism since 2005.
By Air To The End Of The World
While campsites in the basic category are usually only equipped with an outhouse, serviced campsites shine with a good location and excellent facilities. The private campsites are usually well equipped. The largest private campground chain is Top 10 Holiday Parks. Wild camping is forbidden in New Zealand, but you have the option of spending the night on designated "Freedom Camping" pitches free of charge. If you want to explore New Zealand with a motorhome, there are also special requirements for the camper. Mid-range campers, such as those offered by Britz, Wendekreise and EuroCampers, are available from the age of 21 and the age restriction is relatively rarely increased to 25 years. For example, at the premium provider Vantastic, who wants to protect his vehicles through old age and maintain their quality. Queenstown is located on the edge of the New Zealand Alps and is the starting point of the Southern Scenic Route. Not only is Auckland the largest city in the island kingdom, it also has New Zealand's largest airport, and the North Island extends to the capital, Wellington. Who was not enraptured by the Shire - a backdrop that sprang from this fantasy! New Zealand is home to this wonderful country. Euro 2020, Alipay and the plan to change mobile payments in Europe and China
Soccer teams throughout Europe this week will continue their journey towards an unprecedented sporting event.
Across the continent, men’s national sides will play the next rounds of qualification for Uefa Euro 2020. The second 24-team edition of the international game’s second-richest tournament will be played at 12 venues in 12 different countries, as a special pan-European version is held for its 60thanniversary. Meanwhile, the reach of its commercial platform will be underlined by the presence of a second Chinese company among six lead partners.
Last November, Alipay joined consumer appliances manufacturer Hisense among Uefa’s national team soccer sponsors. The mobile payments giant signed an eight-year agreement with the European soccer confederation, becoming a partner of all tournaments played between 2018 and 2026 in a deal valued at €200 million.
“What we are doing is using technology to drive financial inclusiveness around the world,” says Rita Liu (right), the head of Alipay in the EMEA region. “And we think that football is a sport that can be played by everyone and it’s also something that stands for inclusiveness. So we think we share the same vision with Uefa and with football as a sport.”
It was an announcement notable not just for its scale, but also because of Alipay’s limited European presence. In China, it dominates the QR code-based mobile payment space alongside WePay. Owned by the US$150 billion fintech group Ant Financial, an affiliate of billionaire Jack Ma’s Alibaba, Alipay’s primary services are used by 800 million Chinese consumers, while another 588 million have put aside small amounts of money through its Yu’e Bao microsavings platform.
That user base grows to over a billion once its nine partnership with other Asian digital wallet providers – like PayTM in India, Pay in South Korea, GCash in the Philippines and Dana in Indonesia – are factored in.
Over the summer, it announced plans to launch a QR-based network across ten European countries, working with Bluecode, ePassi, Momo Pocket, Pagaqui, Pivo, and Vipps. Nevertheless, its relative inactivity on the continent suggests it is looking at its Uefa partnership differently than other sponsors.
Who is this partnership aimed at?
Alipay’s Uefa partnership includes its share of conventional elements. At June’s inaugural Uefa Nations League Finals in Portugal, its branding was visible pitchside while it also sponsored the player of the match trophy. The design for that award was meant to resemble the image of a player striking a ball, and also of the first character in Alipay’s Chinese name – which means both ‘payment’ and ‘support’.
Those promotional activities are targeted as much at users in China as soccer fans in Europe.
“Even though it’s European football, it’s actually a very well-known global event,” Liu says. “It’s definitely also us leveraging this global sports platform to grow our global brand influence.”
But the partnership also caters to Chinese users in another way. According to the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO),Chinese touristsmade 149.7 millionoverseastrips in 2018 andspent $277.3billion. Europe is the second most popular region for Chinese travellers.
Last year Nielsen produced research – funded in part by Alipay – that suggested the average Chinese tourist spent US$762 on shopping during each trip, and that 90 per cent of them would prefer to use their mobile payment service of choice if possible.
“Even though Europeans cannot use Alipay yet, we are actually enabling the merchants and partners here to accept Alipay,” Liu explains. “As you can see in the news, we are growing very fast in Europe. More and more merchants are accepting Alipay to attract more Chinese business.”
Through hospitality and VIP experiences, then, Alipay will be spending next summer driving awareness among those merchants and expanding the network of those accepting payments through its system.
How will the partnership change Uefa’s digital operation?
Alipay has also been building technical elements into the partnership on Uefa’s behalf. Its mobile wallet is now the first to be accepted on Uefa.com, and was also in use at all venues during the Uefa Nations League Finals.
“So we are bringing digital experiences to the whole event,” Liu says. “That’s what we’re already doing. And in the future we’ll be connecting all these partners we have in Asia, these wallets and these users, to Uefa as well. Hopefully, next year you’ll see the users of all our wallets in south-east Asia or in Asia will be able to use their most familiar way to pay to interact with Asia.”
Alipay’s payment system was on show at the Uefa Nations League Finals in June
Uefa is also selling tickets to Euro 2020 in China through a new Alipay portal, becoming the first sports partner to set up on the Mini Program system.
“Before, you could only buy a ticket on Uefa.com and I think they’re building it on their app, but they don’t have a native Chinese-language app or website yet in China,” Liu explains. Through the Mini Program, they don’t really need to do much to achieve that experience in China.”
Mini Program, Liu continues, is a project aimed at building Alipay out from its origins as a payment system to become a “lifestyle super-app”.
She adds: “Mini Program is basically an open platform within Alipay where developers and businesses can use the modules or portals to build their own mini-app within the Alipay app. The interaction users have within the mini-app is very similar to them using a native app of that business but for the business and developers, they don’t have to start something brand new and build a native app from scratch. They can easily use the modules behind our mini-programme system to start offering that to their customers.
“So it’s something brand new for the ecosystem in China and it has been very popular. It’s getting very popular among our partners and merchants and users. In January this year, we announced that the number of daily active users of mini-programmes had already reached 230 million. That’s a big chunk of Alipay’s users. And also, there are already 120,000 mini-programmes live on the Alipay platform.”
The expectation is that having a body like Uefa involved will encourage others to follow, giving users more reasons to stay within the Alipay ecosystem. “We’re seeing very strong interest in the market,” Liu says, “not just from sports organisations from all over the world, but from merchants and partners – they are also looking to build Alipay mini-programmes to reach Chinese customers better. So I think there will probably be more.”
How is Alipay preparing for a pan-European Euro 2020?
“Success for us next year would be that the players in our ecosystem are all happy, whether it’s our users, our merchants here, our partners at Uefa – they’re all happy,” says Liu. “That’s the simple way to put it.”
Preparing for 51 matches across 12 cities in 31 days will present a stiff logistical task to any of the key partners.
“Obviously, it’s the first time Uefa’s done this, to do it across, basically, Europe – from the very east to the very west,” Liu adds. “I think, of course, that it’s challenging, but I think it’s a great idea for Uefa to do this.”
Uefa has become the first sports partner of Alipay’s Mini Program system to sell Euro 2020 tickets in China
Liu expects Alipay to focus its efforts on cities like London and Rome, where it has a high proportion of users and there is a high concentration of Chinese visitors, creating an incentive to expand merchant networks. Still, she believes the organisation is well set to deliver its activation plans across the continent.
“In Europe, Alipay does have quite a few offices,” she says. “Together with Alibaba we have offices in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain. So we have people on the ground across Europe. Of course, we will rely on our agencies. So I don’t think we will have people set up specifically for this project there for a few months but we will mobilise our agencies and also the Alipay team on the ground to do it.”
At the Uefa Nations League Finals, on-the-ground experiences for fans included technology-based soccer games and installations that took fans through the process of using QR code payments. Similar physical and digital experiences are planned for next summer.
“It doesn’t have to be that Europeans can’t use Alipay so we can’t engage with European fans,” Liu says. “There are actually many other ways and we’re exploring that.”
What’s the future for Alipay as a company and a sponsor?
Despite its considerable growth in the payments sector, Liu is careful to position Alipay as a “a tech enabler” with a mission “to make financial services more inclusive to the masses, to individuals and small businesses”. It is working closely with banks, she says, as well as with investment funds on its wealth management services.
“We’re not trying to change banks,” she adds, “we’re not trying to replace banks, we’re working with them.”
The term of the Uefa partnership, along with the company’s role in the new European digital wallet network, will inevitably fuel speculation about a wider launch in the region for Alipay. Liu, however, is non-committal about the prospect.
“There’s no clear timeline for whether or when Alipay will come and really offer our services to Europeans or through partners,” she says. “But our concept is to always start with the users. So what we do needs to solve certain pain points. If people here are very happy using contactless or using other ways of payment, and it’s convenient for them, then there’s no point of changing that. We’re not using technology for the sake of technology. We want to use technology to make people’s lives easier.
“So what’s the pain point of a UK customer? We start from the customers. In China, it’s not because we are offering the QR code as something new from a card or other ways of payment. We made the payment more convenient than traditional payment options in China and, also, the other functions we offer in the app, like wealth management tools and being able to get merchants’ coupons inside the app – the lifestyle enabler concept behind it that made people’s lives easier – that’s why people use Alipay.
Alipay could be integrated into Alibaba’s partnership with the IOC
“If we cannot solve a pain point, then we wouldn’t push the wallet to the users here. It doesn’t make sense.”
Whatever its corporate intentions, Liu believes Alipay has plenty it can bring to its role as a Uefa sponsor between now and 2026. Much as Alibaba is using its sponsorship of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to overhaul the digital operation of the Games, Liu sees potential in an integrated approach.
“We do believe there are many ways that tech can digitise, can improve or can optimise sports fans’ experience,” she says, pointing to Alipay’s research in areas like blockchain, AI and the Internet of Things. “This is something that we’re also exploring – how to use tech to digitise and to optimise sports.”
Alipay, much like Alibaba, sees sport and wellbeing as a “big growth area in China” and one that will create its share of possibilities, even if the company takes a steady approach to adding further partnerships.
“Lots of people are coming to introduce themselves and see if there is more of an opportunity for working together,” Liu says. “Currently, we’re very focused on Uefa because they’re a great partner and it’s a great deal. It’s new for us so we want to do it properly. There’s so much we can do with them.”

2019 K-pop Friendship Concert in Manila
2019 marks the 70th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the Republic of Korea and the Republic of the Philippines. What started with military assistance has now flourished into a deeper connection, not to mention the growing popularity of Korean dramas and Korean music in the Philippines.
With 70 years of friendship, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism presents ‘2019 K-POP FRIENDSHIP CONCERT IN MANILA’ – a cultural celebration through music shared by the two nations.
Happening on March 7, 2019, 6 PM, at the Mall of Asia Arena, Filipino and Korean artists will showcase each culture and music on one stage. This commemoration will be hosted by Kring Kim & Ryan Bang, and the concert will feature a wide range of acts, not focusing on Korean Pop alone. The line-up includes famous Korean Idols and a homegrown Filipino artist.
The up-and-coming K-pop boy group NOIR is coming back to the Philippines for this special event. The band which consists of members from the second season of Mnet’s Produce 101, visited Manila in 2018. Having debuted on April 9, 2018, with the song “Gangsta” from their EP “Twenty’s Noir,” NOIR is hitting the Manila stage for the second time.
The event will also be graced by the charming KPop girl group APRIL. Started in 2015, members, Chaekyung, Chaewon, Naeun, Yena, Rachel, and Jinsol, took home the 2016 Korean Entertainment Arts Award for Female Rookie of the Year. These talented girls also won in the Korean Culture & Entertainment Awards for two consecutive years (2017 and 2018) for the K-pop Artist Award.
Explosive acts will keep pouring in at this event as NCT DREAM, the young and multi-talented sub-unit of NCT, will also perform for the first time in Manila. They are the first NCT unit to ever win on “The Show,” with their comeback song “My First and Last.” This group boasts international recognition, being featured on Billboard’s “21 Under 21 2018: Music’s Next Generation” list and TIME Magazine’s 25 Most Influential Teens of 2018. These cute teens are ready to “Trigger the Fever.”
To represent world-class Filipino talent, Philippines’ homegrown artist, Silent Sanctuary will also serenade the crowd. This five-piece Filipino rock band was formed in Metro Manila, Philippines in 2001. Despite the evolution of their music through the change in their lineup of members, they are still able to maintain their perfect mix of rock music injected with classical instruments, a certain sound that is distinctly Silent Sanctuary. Armed with catchy guitar riffs and heart-pounding melodies from the violins, the band has invaded numerous bars, schools, and other performance venues with the passion to share their music.
With music comes dancing. The popular dance trio, VinSuriChan, will surely get the audience up on their feet. Vince Igno, Dasuri Choi, and Phoi Chan are known for their thrilling videos online with their dance covers of powerhouse groups in the KPop industry such as BIGBANG and INFINITE.
Witness as the Philippines and South Korea stand side-by-side in this one-of-a-kind concert that celebrates culture, music, and friendship – an exchange of talents that highlights the diversity of the two countries. IATF moves to allow more events; MICE tourism recovery seen
#PHnews: IATF moves to allow more events; MICE tourism recovery seen
MANILA – The Department of Tourism is optimistic the MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions) sector will start to thrive again following the national government's move to allow other types of indoor business meetings in areas under general community quarantine (GCQ).
“The DOT deems this latest development as very encouraging for the country’s MICE sector to spur forward and backward linkages in tourism and other sectors concerned. While the pandemic has taught organizers to embrace technology, some gatherings in a physical set-up can now proceed, with health and safety protocols in place," Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat said.
"We are optimistic that the country’s MICE sector shall start to thrive again, with the support of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in crafting the implementing guidelines,” she added.
The Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) signed on Dec. 3 Resolution No. 87, allowing MICE events in restaurants, hotel function halls, mall atria, and venues within hotel premises, which are not used as quarantine facilities.
Venue capacity, meanwhile, will be capped at thirty percent.
According to the DOT, the following types of business meetings will be allowed: workshops, training, seminars, congresses, conferences, conventions, board meetings, colloquia, conclaves, symposia and consumer trade shows.
Puyat, however, noted that political gatherings, cultural festivities, sporting events, product launches, and social events like birthdays, weddings, Christmas and office parties, pageants, award events, and gala receptions shows are still not allowed.
The DOT and DTI were tasked to formulate and release specific guidelines, but local government units may issue additional measures providing for stricter protocols among venues within their jurisdiction.
“The DOT shall continuously work on improving our guidelines and policies, making sure that these remain responsive to the changing needs of the industry, as the COVID-19 situation continues to be addressed,” Puyat said. (PNA)

· By using state-of-the-art technology and manufacturing equipment and practices.
· By being innovative with current trends in the national and global markets.
· By broadening reach through traditional and non-traditional channels.
COMPANY ROOTS
CM & Sons Food Products, Inc. was established as a family enterprise in 1995 in Bacolod City,
Negros Occidental. Its products are marketed under the trade name “Merci” a French word meaning
“thank you”. Though the trade name is undergoing a rebranding process from Merci to Merzci, the company still believes that it will remain competitive in the food market.
Merzci started as a small bakery, supplying breads to a single store at the Libertad Market. Eventually, its popularity became undeniable due to a growing satisfied customer pool. With its high quality breads at affordable prices, combined with aggressive marketing strategies and the ingenuity of youth, it did not take long for the company to establish its own branches around the city and supply products to satellite dealers all over the province.
Merzci also evolved into a fast food restaurant serving scrumptious and affordable snacks and short-order meals for people on the go.
Complementing its food line, it diversified its business interests in 2003 with the introduction of its bottled purified water brands distributed around Negros Island, namely MERCI PURIFIED DRINKING
WATER and VITALIFE PURIFIED DRINKING WATER. Despite competition from national brands, the two brands successfully sliced a big share in the province’s purified water market in only a few months’ time and up to present. The water brand is also expected to follow suit in the rebranding of its trade name.
The success of CM & Sons Food Products, Inc. may very well be attributed to its ability to cope with the emergence of new markets and opportunities.
In January 2005, CM & Sons launched its newest line – MERZCI PASALUBONG TREATS, to cater to
the growing tourist and balikbayan crowd that regularly come to the province. The pasalubong treats have gained a massive “suki” consumer crowd that prompted the company to open its first pasalubong center in Singcang, Bacolod City in September 2005. This branch is only about five minutes away from the old Bacolod Airport which, at that time, gained a wide acceptance among the locals and travelers alike. Seven months later, a second pasalubong center emerged in Mandalagan in April 2006, which now caters mainly to travelers leaving the city on the way to the north of the island. In 2008, when the New Bacolod-Silay Airport was opened to the public a new branch conveniently located at the Departure Area was opened for its customers who are always on the go. And, most recently last February of 2013, BREDCO Branch was established to cater to Iloilo-Panay travelers making it a poin that, indeed, Merzci will always be a part of a traveler’s Bacolod experience.
For more than two decades, the company has produced quality products from breads to pastries to Visayan delicacies to short order meals and even purified water. Products are made available in the different branches and dealers in the Negros Island, Panay, even reaching as far as Tuguegarao City in the North, Zamboanga City, Manila, and Cebu. Some products are also exported by distributors to Canada, the USA, and other parts of the world.
Believing in the power of advertising and promotions, the company employs various media exposures such as television, radio, print, and even social media to reach its varied target markets. Special events such as concerts, tourism and sports events, and other special activities are also considered by the company as avenues to reach new markets.

COMMEMORATIVE MESSAGE IN HONOR OF THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE END OF THE JUNE REBELLION AND THE 76TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE D-DAY SEABORNE LANDINGS
Ladies and gentlemen, to all the people of the United States of America and Canada, to all our remaining living veterans of the Second World War of 1939-1945 and of all conflicts past and present and their families, to our veterans, active servicemen and women, reservists and families of the entire United States Armed Forces and the Canadian Armed Forces, and to all the uniformed military and civil security services of the Allied combatants of this conflict, to all the immediate families, relatives, children and grandchildren of the deceased veterans, fallen service personnel and wounded personnel of our military services and civil uniformed security and civil defense services, to all our workers, farmers and intellectuals, to our youth and personnel serving in youth uniformed and cadet organizations and all our athletes, coaches, judges, sports trainers and sports officials, and to all our sports fans, to all our workers of culture, music, traditional arts and the theatrical arts, radio, television, digital media and social media, cinema, heavy and light industry, agriculture, business, tourism and the press, and to all our people of the free world:
Today, as our we mark as one people two great anniversaries of great importance.
First, we honor the 138th anniversary since the defeat of the June Rebellion of 1832, wherein hundreds of people involved were killed by gunfire as they fought against the French Army and the National Guard. Many of the fallen were students and workers, as well as republicans, who agitated for France to once more take the cause of freedom to the peoples of Europe.
And today, we mark 76 years since the date of one of the biggest ever amphibious landings in military history. 76 years ago, the seaborne landing phrase of D-Day occurred in the five marked beaches in occupied Normandy in France, wherein hours after airborne landings within miles of the beaches began to clear German resistance and opened the door to the beginning of the liberation of western parts of Europe from the English Channel coast while fellow servicemen were fighting in Italy’s south and center and the Soviet Armed Forces, together with the Polish People’s Army and the Czechoslovak Armed Forces in the East were fighting in Eastern Europe alongside the Yugoslav partisan movement millions of army personnel from many nations of the Allied forces, escorted by a multinational naval force and aviation, all under the orders of General Dwight Eisenhower, the Supreme Allied Commander, landed in these beaches signaling the start of the final chapters of the war in Western and Central Europe. The mass landings that began on this day and stretched into the following days was only the beginning of the long road to liberation for millions of people in western and central parts of Europe, who for years had suffered long under the cruel hands of Nazi Germany and its allies.
Only hundreds remain of the millions who entered France via sea and air to begin the final stages of the war in Western Europe, as well as of the veterans of the Italian campaigns as well. Their memory as well as of their deceased comrades in arms and the fallen of this operation will remain forever engraved in our hearts and therefore we owe to teach our children, the youth, and future generations of the victory won by the sacrifices of men and women of the Allied Nations in the Second World War and the many operations, including D-Day, that led to the defeat of the Axis Powers in 1945. It is thus our duty and obligation to forever honor and remember the Greatest Generation – these millions of men and women of the armed forces and civil security services and home front workers who through their sacrifices in all fields of endeavor and in the defense of our freedom and independence, won the war and helped defeat international fascism in Europe, Northern Africa and the Asia-Pacific exactly 75 years ago. With just over two months to go before the diamond jubilee of its conclusion, in the midst of the current crisises of this world let us, empowered by their legacy, continue to work onwards to the building of a better world.
These two events, forever honored in books, radio, film, television, paintings, monuments, poems and other forms of act, remembered year after year, are now a part of our modern culture and part of our history and these events are for all of us an inspiration to forever striving to preserve freedom and independence in our world and build on a brighter and hopeful future for our planet and all of humanity. As we forever honor and commemorate such historic moments of our times, let us, with the spirits of this great days with us and in our memories, forge onwards on our long road to a future prosperous, progressive, green free and independent, and a world that is truly world defending.
And to the people of Sweden, as we send National Day greetings to all of you, we hope that, as well all move together onwards an uncertain but bright future the people of Sweden and her Armed Forces , together, will ensure that it will forever be independent, prosperous and free for generations to come.
LONG LIVE THE 187TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE 1832 JUNE REBELLION!

And in honor of the 76th year anniversary of the great baptism of fire of the 101st Airborne Division, and to the entire HBO War Fandom who for all time will always remember this very moment in history as depicted in the 2nd episode of the award winning 2001 HBO miniseries “Band of Brothers”:

The film tracks the journey of a mother who saves her daughter from human traffickers.
The film will be premiered nationwide on February 22 with English subtitles. It’s one of 14 films competing for the Grand Prix and Most Promising Talent Award, according to information released on the official website of the festival. Other entries in this section include The Girl in the Orange Dress (Philippines), Our Body (Korea), Asandhimitta (Sri Lanka), The Lady Improper (Hong Kong) and Tanabata’s Wife (Philippines). Directed by Lê Văn Kiệt, the film is likely to be Vân’s last action film. Vân is known for her roles in The Rebel, Clash and The Tailor. She also participated in Rouge, a television series produced by MTV Asia and MediaCorp Singapore, the Hollywood film The Last Jedi and Netflix film Bright. At the age of 40, she says she is tired of action scenes and wants to give a chance for younger actors to shine. The festival will feature 51 films from across the continent. It aims to create a chance for Asian filmmakers to exchange and promote the top films from the region. The OAFF also contributes to the development of cinema and economy of Osaka in particular and Japan in general. It connects people from the fields of culture, art, education, tourism and business from across Asia. Last year, the Cô Ba Sài Gòn (The Tailor) also starring Vân was selected for the Competition section but fell short. Vietnamese cinema also has another representative at the OAFF. Hồn Papa Da Con Gái (Daddy Issues) by Japanese director Ken Ochiai and Vietnamese producer Charlie Nguyễn, will close the OAFF. It reveals troubles between a father named Hải and his daughter named Châu when a magical event happens and they switch bodies. They try to understand each other and learn to live together in harmony. The film stars Thái Hoà, a “comedy king” of Vietnamese cinema who is known for Let Hoi Decide and Saigon Bodyguards; and Kaity Nguyễn, a young talent with debut film Jailbait. Ochiai is known widely among Vietnamese audiences as he directed Saigon Bodyguards starring Kim Lý and Thái Hòa.
