I said I would wait for Act 3 to post my final verdict but some thoughts just won't leave me alone. SPOILERS AHEAD!

Starting with Caitlyn and Maddie. I know we all love to see WLW representation but every single thing about this relationship feels wrong. How much time has really passed between Episode 3 & Episode 4? We don't know but either way after the way E3 left the situation with Cait & Vi, seeing her with Maddie first thing feels like a god damn slap in the face of everything Vi & Caitlyn had. Like Cait just moved on to the next person after leaving Vi sobbing on the ground. And I just...phew...that does not sit right with me. It takes so much importance from the emotional connection Cait and Vi were shown to have. Especially since Maddie & Cait's relationship doesn't seem to carry much importance for the plot? I am not sure why they had to add it at all? It doesn't change any stakes, Maddie doesn't change Cait's opinion not does she spurr her on. It adds nothing to the plot as a whole, or maybe not yet, so I am unsure why they added it in the first place? To add to that: Maddie is Caitlyn's subordinate. That power-dynamic is...questionable but I won't put too much focus on that since they are both adult women and I guess there's no rules against it? Still...questionable in my opinion.

I guess we will still find out what happened to Jayce? Because what the fuck kinda 180 degree turn did that man do that makes him go from going nuts over saving Viktor to killing him in cold blood? We need to get some explanation because otherwise...

Going from there: No Ekko and Heimerdinger? Nothing at all? I can only hope they get the main event in Act 3 but I don't see how there will be enough time for that? There's 3 episodes left? What about the firelights? Who took over while Ekko was gone? What are they doing all this time? Does noone miss Ekko? Heimerdinger, I get, since he left the academy before the whole thing happened and the only one who knows he came back is Jayce and well Jayce is...out of order, I guess.

Which leads us to the other character that did an almost 180 degree turn around: Jinx. Again, we do not know how much time has passed but we do know she appearently tried to reach out to Vi multiple times? Why? How? We left them at enemies at each others throats. And how did she suddenly get a grip on her own mental health from one day to the other? All because of Isha? I just do not buy into it, it happened to quickly and we didn't see enough moments of change to believe it, in my opinion. Suddenly Jinx isn't Jinx anymore, suddenly she's the good guy, the reasonable one, the one who seeks out Vi and saves Caitlyn from being torn to shreds? I just…I am missing some context here. Some filler scenes, a few moments where we see what changed her perspective.

Salo. Again, his story doesn't add anything to the plot. Him going to Viktor doesn't add anything to the plot. Yet? Maybe that will change but apart from him being a vessle for Viktor and Jayce to communicate, what is his purpose? And in addition, they have created this beautiful character in Lest but again, their whole story doesn't add anything to anything at all. Multiple scenes where we see Lest painting Salo with little to no impact (except for her giving info to Mel, which in turn also becomes a little pointless since Mel gets abducted almost instantly and can't use this information. Again: Yet?)

Cait & Vi's "Reunion". Wtf? That's all I have to say. I made no sense. None at all. Last we saw, Cait hit Vi with her rifle and left her a sobbing mess in the underground without ever looking back. And you want me to believe that the next time they meet Cait fucking bodyslams Vi to the ground and they immediately work together. When did Cait change sides again? When did she start working against Ambessa and why? And why in Gods name would Vi have ANY reason to trust her at all? With anything? There's no apology, no talk about what happened, no word about how they've been dealing with the whole situation. But suddenly Cait holds up Vi again, runs to her side to fight against the Noxians because...well, why exactly? We don't know. And I get it, we will get some more friction in Act 3 but apart from that there needs to be an actual conversation about these things and Caitlyn needs to apologize because otherwise I will throw my hat. I just don't buy it. I could add about a dozen more things that play out in my mind ever since I watched Act 2 but all in all, and I think that applies to all of the aformentioned points, there is not enough time for all of this. I am not giving up hope that they'll turn it around in Act 3. It has happened before. But I feel like this time there is just too many storylines and not enough time. This season would have needed 12 episodes, at the very least. Because all of this is just too much. The war between Piltover and Zaun, the thing with the Black Rose, the whole Medarda family mystery, the hextech core and the Arcane and how Jayce and Viktor fit into it, the relationships between the characters, the Warwick and Singed storyline, Ekko and the Firelights...it goes on and on and on. We are opening all of these boxes at once and I don't know how to feel about that. Do I still love the visuals? Yes. They're stunning. This show is still a masterpiece. Do I love the characters? Absolutely. I adore them. (Yes, even Caitlyn because I think her storyarc is actually really complex and interesting but some fandom takes are...also questionable, just leaving it at that.) And I want all of them to have a good ending. That doesn't necessarily mean a happy one, just a good one. This show is absolutely brilliant, I am not trying to take away from the well-deserved success and fanlove it recieves. I just feel like even with the time and money they had, their ambitions for this season were maybe a little too much for 9 episodes. They had to make sacrifices, storywise, and it shows.

1. oh ya, maddy passed her first time piano practical exam with trinity, first time, but grade 4, congratulations~ baby!!!

2. and before the school year started, kids were checking the online system, where their classrooms will be located, maddy changed to a different stream, gabby, most likely, will be changed to a better class, but, I didn't expect it to be THAT "better", as when he joined the school, he's on the 3rd stream, his result is not that bad, but not that extremely good either, but he worked hard, he'd been working hard in his own way, I know! we know!!! though it's different from the father, from me, from the sis, his own way!!! so, when I saw his new allocated class, I was kinda surprised, as he's changed to the 1st stream, though not the best of the 1st stream (phew~ relieved!! as I don't want to be in such "good" class to inherit the stress, he was enjoying his 1st year there!! which, again, I am grateful!)

all classes were allocated, and can be viewed online, but I didn't know the location of the classrooms, so, maddy checked, and told me, the bro and she, are in the same block!!! different floor, but 1 floor apart! to me, this is another good news!! Praise the Lord!!! aint' that cute and sweet that you and bro are in the same block, and you can take the same lift everyday? "ya", she said, she's happy, I know, she loves having her lil' brother with her…

3. and school opens!! as it's convenient, gabby went to look for maddy twice, just within a week??? she told me when I picked them up from school, in the car, the first time, lil' bro went up to look for her, as he's supposed to draw something in his workbook, with a pencil, but he used a pen instead, and he didn't know what to do next, went to look for sis, for advice! bla bla bla bla bla bla… (resolved!)

the second time, on another day, lil' bro went to look for her, in his sports shirt and shorts, asked the sis, if he should bring his school bag to the computer room, for the computer class, a class hour just before the school dismissal… bla bla bla bla bla bla… kinda resolved, in the end, the computer teacher, as it's first week, only did some intro in the classroom, not the computer room!

I laughed, and asked son, if it's so so convenient to look for sis, and that you've to go look for sis for this sort of small matter, he said, "ya…"

4. yesterday, he told me, his friend, yes, that friend, I can't remember his name, and I'm not sure if gabby has told me the name of his friend, I usually refer him as "game friend", as this friend talks about games (mobile games) with him, and sometimes, gabby helped him up by lending him exam pad, and he gave a chritmas present to gabby last year end!!! (my poor kids, that's how he told me, "as we seldom receive gifts from other people, I was shocked with the content of the present!", ya, our children mainly get the christmas presents from us, the parents, or grandparents, of parents friends… ^-^) (same goes with maddy, she received a present from one of her closer friends in school too, and I know she's kinda happy about it, but usually, she takes the initiative in giving gift to those who stays in her mind, teachers, or classmates, again, she doesn't have that many friends either!)

oh, so, back to this game friend of gabby, besides talking to each other in the class last year, when they are allowed to use their mobile phone in the carpark waiting area, they'll normally exchange information (about game!) there! but this year, they're in different classes!!!

however!!! yesterday, he told me, the friend came to look for him in his class, to ask for help, last minute writing job, as the friend's not completed his essay homework, and he didn't have more idea on what to write, so, he went to look for gabby, I asked gabby, if he managed to help, he said "yes", and I'm glad that he's able to help, I told him that, I told him, it's good that the friend would think of him when he needs help in such situation, and that he's able to help too!!!

Waking up from your nap, you look at your phone to see a text from your best friend inviting you to a party tonight. Reaching your arm out you grabbed onto Sammy and pulled him closer to you. To your surprise, he came up behind you with no hesitation. Locking eyes with Jake, you started to dance with Sammy. Immediately the smirk from Jake’s face dropped. Smiling at the win, you turned to face Sammy and took the opportunity to get even closer. Your chest completely flush with his. I woke up with a raging headache. Rubbing my eyes I throw the covers off me desperately needing a coffee.

"Thought I heard you were up," Rudy says peaking his head in "I made you some coffee"

I carefully take the hot coffee and look at the boy gratefully "thank you, Rudy... I'm sorry you had to deal with all that last night" I say sheepishly

Rudy scoffs "Don’t apologize for that bug." 

I smile at him lightly 

"Have you heard from drew?" I say while looking down at my coffee

"He stayed the night at Chase's," He starts softly

"He's hurting just as much as you are... He loves you so much, but he wants to respect you and your decision,"

My eyes water "I'm so at a loss here... I refuse to be the reason they hate him, but I don't want to lose him"

Wiping at my eyes I place the coffee on my side table trying to hold it all in. Rudy sits beside me wrapping an arm around my shoulders 

"Before we left with Drew he said and I quote 'my sweet girl, selfish enough to want me but not selfish enough to keep me’ Do what your heart tells you bug... be selfish for once"

I laugh through tears "Easier said than done,"

"you think she'd want to talk to me?" Mads asks sheepishly "I want to make things better,"

I lightly chuckle "She would love nothing more, because despite everything that happened that girl will welcome you with open arms" 

Mads smiles "I'm gonna head over today"

"Thank you," I whisper

"Baby you go and head over, Drew and I are gonna set up at the beach," Chase says walking in 

I tilt my head in confusion "How did you-?" 

Chase lightly smiles "the first thing she told me when I asked what she liked about LA, First, she said obviously said you…”

I laugh as I shake my head

“and second, was that one beach spot you took her to when you first asked her to be your girlfriend" 

I smile down at the floor 

"she definitely isn't the biggest fan of all things LA brings..." Chase trails lightly chuckling "but she loves it because you're here... the beach is just a bonus"

"Whenever I can't find her I know she's down in a secluded area of the beach reading a book," I say grinning

 "I miss her."

Buck can't help the giant smile spreading from corner to corner at the last message. He's about to reply when there's a knock on his door. 

"Maddie, Chim, what are you guys doing here?"

"What? Your sister and your friend can't come by to see how you're doing?" Maddie asks feigning being appalled. 

"Lucy heard from Bosko that you had it out with your boy, Diaz." Chim announces with a pop of gum. 

Maddie sighs but gives her boyfriend an adoring and fond look. 

"Okay, first of all, he's not my boy," Buck defends as he walks further into the kitchen, both of them trailing behind him, "and secondly, does that really constitute a welfare check?" 

"No, but we're just worried about you." Maddie tells him. 

"Yeah. Plus, we have something we want to tell you." 

"Howie!" She chides. 

"Sorry! You know I'm terrible at keeping secrets."

Buck looks between the two of them. "Oh, no there's another secret? After the last family secret, I don't think I can handle any more."

"No, it's nothing like that, I promise." Maddie urges. She looks to Chim who smiles at her and smiles back. 

"We're having a baby!" They say at the same time. 

Buck's eyes widen. "Really?" 

"Really!" 

He goes and hugs them both. "I'm so happy for you guys!" 

And he is. Maddie deserves all the happiness in the world and after all those years of misery she finally gets to have it and he already sees Chimney like a brother who treats Maddie like she always deserves to be treated. Plus, he remembers those days where Chimney was trying to find love and so just happy they found each other. He couldn't be more proud and happy for them. 

He's going to be an uncle! 

And the first thing that comes to mind after that thought is that he can't wait to tell E.

top 5 9-1-1 scenes that make you cry

Oh we’re going for violence now, I see 😂😂 phew okay…here goes

1. I can’t find a gif from the exact moment I’m thinking of, so I’ll use this one. The funeral procession in Chimney Begins never fails to make me cry, and Kenneth Choi’s performance there is what makes that my favorite Begins episode. Heartbreaking.

2. I have a very ugly photo of myself sobbing that I took after this scene 😅 oh this one hurt sooo bad, I didn’t expect Buck to breakdown in front of Chris, and it broke me when it happened

3. A pretty fun episode turned into one of the most heartbreaking scenes of the whole show in just a split second, and Aisha’s performance here always always always breaks me. Joaquin’s direction also makes the shock and pain tangible.

4. The stack of postcards serving as Buck’s baby box (with the 118 Christmas postcard—which prompted Maddie to leave Doug and find Buck—sitting proudly at the top) and then the sibling montage…oh I’m in tears every time. The love these two have for each other is so 😭

5. “I miss you all the time.” Eddie Begins is emotional all around, and the montage does make me teary, but this scene makes me full on cry. It’s such an important moment for the both of them and cements their close bond that we know and love. They are each other’s most important person.

You could tell in a previous episode when Mark was talking with Amy about marriage and kids in their future that she looked uncomfortable. Shouldn’t they have had this talk already though? Or has Amy changed her mind?

Again, the LoRo drama isn’t my thing. If they hadn’t started the season so blissfully married maybe it would be more believable. Or if it happened more slowly and they had built up to it. It also bothers me that Lola isn’t being held just as accountable as Robin.

However, I do appreciate when All Rise highlight different social injustices. Not sure they are always successfully and authentically portrayed, but they try, which is more than most shows.

Just saw this post

Going to be honest. It’s actually now a nugget of truth for myself but I kept thinking of Buck.

Made a response reblog and in it I talked about how the crane incident was stemming from a deeper level of inadequacy. Buck has always felt this way even when it comes to saving strangers. It’s just who he is. There is an immense emotional need to help others. An immense empathy that often clouds how he himself is feeling. This inherent ability to empathize is why I’ve often thought Buck had trouble processing his emotions and also the fact he never felt loved by his parents.

The only love came from Maddie who as we all remember gave up her escape from a trauma she kept shielded/secret. She gave him the jeep because it was better she deal with how things started to change with Doug rather than let Buck stay with their parents. I mean come on! “They’re not bad people, just bad parents.” But the fact that she cared more about getting Buck away from them then getting herself away from Doug…ugh phew. Anyway, what I mean to talk about is the idea that Buck has always wanted to feel emotionally safe but rarely does anyone validate those feelings. Since in the beginning he was sort of a I don’t follow the rules show off punk they assume (Bobby, Hen and Chim) that he’ll always be like that. Hen said it directly, “you lack discipline” and indeed he did because neglectful parents who forced him into an emotionally trapped state that says I only get your attention when I’m hurt so hey ma look I’m in a tree. And then things happened by accident such as angry motorcycle riding which to be fair some ppl can assess emotions and be like driving anything is not a good idea, but still while he was driving recklessly he accidentally crashed the bike. Still parents think it’s because he’s reckless and wild. He’s doing it on purpose to spite them. And sure, he was doing it on purpose but for entirely different emotional reasons. Neglect is emotional abuse. I’ve held onto this notion that if the Buckley parents didn’t work through their trauma individually and together then there is no building that bridge back to Buck. Therapy isn’t going to cut it if the parents keep thinking they’re not at fault for anything or weren’t neglecting Buck. Just throwing that out there. Also, they need to recognize they burdened Maddie with the responsibility of raising Buck because they couldn’t dare to do as Buck was a stinging reminder of Daniel and their “coping mechanism” was to ignore him.

Okay, so maybe this therapist quote made me think of the Buckley family issues as a whole, but it also brings to mind how most of us think Eddie validating Buck’s feelings, making Buck feel more worth it is all that’s needed and that maybe everyone else isn’t coming from a place of sincerity? Firstly, I’d like to remind everyone that Buck never directly says how he’s feeling. He doesn’t want to burden anyone with his feelings. He doesn’t want to come off as needy and so he stows it away and let’s everyone else unburden their feelings. He is a good listener because he’s never thought of his feelings as valid. And seeing as Bobby, Hen and Chim lived through Buck 1.0, I think it’s hard not to think he’s showing off. In some respect, there can be show boating on calls, I suppose, but the nitty gritty is that in the beginning Buck was taking it too far. Except most everyone has trouble reading his state of mind which Buck shouldn’t expect them to do; not everyone is a mind reader of emotions like he is. Most of them have trouble seeing emotional growth as a win. For Buck it’s been about emotional growth and a place to feel emotionally safe. It’s true though the show has made it explicitly known that part of feeling emotionally safe is having a safe space. Where or who is that safe space? Well, inside and outside of the fire station one person connected to the universe fills that role.

What does Buck have? Basically, the end of season 4 told us that inside and outside the fire station he has Eddie and Christopher. And that’s the future….

Why make this blatant contrast making Eddie +Christopher all the more important next to Bobby, Hen and then of course Chim who is definitely extended Buckley family now? I think everyone in Buck’s life comes from a place of sincerity but Buck himself places emotional weight into what Eddie says or thinks about him, thus making it seem more important than what anyone else says or does. They both do this with each other, and why make such a big stink….

Also do I see a future fic that involves Maddie being for Jia what Andrew was to her? And what did you think of Mechagodzilla?

I’m so glad I didn’t dislike it, phew. I’m actually in the process of writing two of them right now! Oops! 

Maddie immediately going “something’s up” was perfect. I loved that. Maddie and Jia bonding over being daughters friends of Titans... it’ll happen. 

Tragically, despite my best attempts, I was somewhat spoiled about Mechagodzilla being in the movie. Everything else was a total surprise, tho! My thoughts about Mechagodzilla are a bit mixed, honestly. Cool fight for sure, but it was over so quickly. After the slow burn of Ghidorah’s increasingly bad presence, and increasingly epic battles, I felt this one was a wee bit lacking. 

Then again, it followed an awesome smackdown between Godzilla and Kong. So it balances out, in some ways.

Also this part reminds me of buddie like years prior. Eddie being young and being with Shannon and getting her pregnant. And then you had Buck who slept around.

Like for some reason this part reminds me of when Buck is angrily boxing and Eddie calms him down and is relating to him.

This part makes me think of all the people who have hurt Buck. His parents, Abby, Ali, even Maddie. He’s overcome all of that though.
