Another piss fic where Jo has me virtually foaming at the mouth and this time, she's also got me lusting after a man I don't even know.
Side note: Not only is it a sign of great writing when your audience trusts you enough to read kinks they may or may not be into (I still blame Jo for my developing a piss kink, because Dirty well a truly did me in); but â Even without knowing this character or the fandom as a whole all too well, I knew for a fact I would still enjoy this piece. Jo takes these characters and makes them her own, adding a flare only she can add as she takes her audience on a journey few won't come back changed from.
Possession seethes through this piece. It's the backbone, a building block that supports not only the piece as a work of creativity, but the characters within it. Chigiri is possession personified. From the opening lines of context where we learn of the exhaustive nature of Chigiri's blossoming career and the seeming calmness that comes in-between football, there is an overarching sense of power... One that not only comes to embody Chigiri as a man, relating to both his prowess on the field and the way he conducts himself with Reader (The line 'The blasĂŠ attitude' that is quickly followed by a knee-shaking 'I don't care' is not only a perfect example of this, but one of the reason's I'm currently running to see exactly who this man is because fuck me, Jo has made him seem incredible), but the act that he later eases Reader into. It's no secret that Jo writes some of the most incredible displays of power and possession, but how she weaves it so brilliantly into the characterisation of Chigiri here is second to none. From those starting lines, we're captured, locked-in and under his spells as he corners Reader â 'tempting [her] to do it.'
The pacing in this piece is also brilliant. The longer contextual sentences ease us in, fading to those short, snappy ones as we sink deeper into the piece. Each blunt, stand alone 'But he kept going.' or 'He hasn't finished enjoying you' not only hammers home the urgency both with Reader's need to relieve herself and Chigiri's need to have her, but begins to mirror the increasingly quick and frantic thrusts of his movements. As Reader gets closer to her end and Chigiri sinks deeper into his need â these sentences shorten, mirroring this and putting us, perfectly, right into the mess of emotions swirling around both of these people's chests.
Even as only a snippet of a piece, this is a glorious read. From it's wonderful characterisation and brilliant structure, to how it controls the themes of power, possession and need that flow so easily throughout the fic.
So, yeah... This might be a piss fic, but it is written absolutely perfectly.
Oh.
And, it's super fucking hot too.
Gonna call it self-indulgent Saturday.
Pairing: Chigiri Hyoma x f!reader.
Warnings: 18+, not proofread, established relationship, piss.
These moments with Chigiri were few and far between since heâd entered the leagues, being one of the most in demand players in Japan meant early practises and even earlier nights, your boyfriend often exhausted by the time heâd make it home.
But some days were bliss, the quiet moments where it was just the two of you, no distractions from the outside world, and no football.
Heâd cornered you on the way to the bathroom, calloused palms grabbing your hips to lift you up onto the counter. Ignoring your pleas that you needed to use the bathroom first, that youâd only be a second. Even more desperate by the fact that your boyfriend had you mere inches from the toilet, one turn in the small bathroom in your dingy apartment and youâd be seated right there⌠but for now Chigiri had other plans.
âFuck, beautiful.â He groaned against your neck, teeth nipping at your jugular as he rut his hips against yours at a selfish pace. The pent up frustrations from the loss of his friendly match against Manshine City had him taking those frustrations out on you.
âOh, shit.â You whined when he pushed your back against the freezing cold mirror, changing the angle slightly as he towered above you. Your thighs clung to either side of his lean hips as he continued his selfish pace, goosebumps prickled against your skin from the chill as the warmth emanating from between your thighs felt as though it was warming the entire room.
âSo pretty for me,â He cooed softly, although his movements contradicted the sweet tone. Setting a brutish pace as he continued to pound into your tight walls, âMissed you.â
âPlease, baby.â You whined, feeling the pleasure overtaking the desire to relieve yourself but only just. The tickling ebb still throbbing in your bladder, âJust lemme pee, Iâll be quick.â
âFuck,â He grunted, âCanât stopâ feels too good.â
You felt his pace speed up, as though he was tempting you to do itâ to relieve yourself while he was buried deep inside your tight cunt. But you couldnât, and you wouldnât. Even the idea of embarrassing yourself in such an intimate way had your cheeks flushed and your teeth gnawing your lower lip as he seemed to continue to tempt fate.
âJust do it,â He hummed, pressing his lips against your jaw, the soft stubble against his chin tickling you as you felt your walls throb around him as you relaxed, âI donât care.â
The blasĂŠ attitude of your boyfriend who was usually so caring had your thighs quivering as you felt yourself dancing on the edge of your release. Just a few more thrusts and he would have you tripping over and into your bliss.
âHyoma.â Your orgasm crashes through you in pleasurable waves as his name fell from your lips. The dull ache in your bladder forgotten momentarily as your entire body was filled with scorching hot pleasure.
White spots began to blank your vision as the pleasure of your climax flowed through every inch of you. No matter how many times Chigiri managed to captivate you in this state, youâd never tire of the feeling. The toe-curling euphoria was enough to set your entire body at ease, your muscles relaxing as you lay back and let him use you for his own pleasure. Expecting him to give a few more messy ruts of his hips and give you exactly what you wantedâ the sweet sound of your name tumbling from his lips as he spilled his seed inside you.
But he kept going.
âI could do this all day, sweet girl.â Chigiri groaned, pressing searing hot kisses into your skin.
A steely look of determination on his face as he continued to drive his hips forward, hitting that same spot inside you. Your silky walls clenching around him in the post-euphoric glow as he grunts low and deep in his throat. Teeth clenched to stop himself from finding his own release, not just yet.
He hasnât finished enjoying you.
âBaby, please. I told you, I gotta pee.â Your walls continued clamping down around him as he grunted against your collarbone, warm breath fanning your skin as he grunted.
âNo oneâs stopping you, princess.â
His fingers dig deeper into your hips, holding you for purchase as he focuses his thrusts on that same spot inside you. The one that has you clenching around him insatiably as your nails claw at his muscles, leaving messy red streaks along his back. Red hair cascades around your frame in soft rivulets as his intense gaze focuses on where your bodies are connected, watching as his slick cock continues to disappear inside your warmth.
âHyoma,â You gasp, your chest heaving as he disallows you a moments respite, continuing his brutal pace, âI canât, itâs too much.â
âBut look at you, princess. You can,â He hums, ignoring your pleas as he works you closer and closer to your release, âShow me.â
It doesnât feel the same as it usually does when he sends you crashing into your crescendo, the pleasure blooming throughout you as your orgasm flows through you in harsh waves. This feels different.
âAre you going to give me what I want, sweetheart?â He hummed, deliberately snapping his hips forward roughly to leave you gasping in surprise.
The first trickle left your body as you felt it almost sticky between your bodies, a warmth that you couldnât describe as Chigiriâs nostrils flared.
âFuck, there?â He questioned, repeating the movement as he focused his thrusts on the exact same spot as your eyes begun to roll back, âYeah? Thatâs it, huh? Right there.â
You cried out as Chigiri rut forward, your thighs clamping down around his hips in a feeble attempt to squeeze them together as you felt yourself giving in to the sensation. Pearly tears clinging to your lashes as your lower lip jutted out into a shameful pout, the warm stream of piss that youâd been trying to keep inside you now flowing as it began to soak his cock and crotch. The warmth surrounding you both as the liquid began to deep into the thick material of his grey sweats and onto the bathroom floor.
You expected him to pull out, to clean up and probably hop in the shower to finish himself off, but he didnât. His grip remained firm against your hips as he started moving again, his pace even more ferocious now as he greedily used your body to find his own release. Rough ruts of his hips were certain to bruise your thighs as he watched mesmerised as you continued to cover him in your release.
âThatâs it, my dirty girl, huh?â He muttered, greedily using you for his own pleasure as his balls began to tighten. A jumbled mess of your name tumbled from his lips as he met his end, spilling white hot ropes of his cum inside your sloppy pussy.
You were making such a mess of him, and Chigiri seemed as though he could care less. A deep, predatory groan rumbled deep in his chest as he watched you soak him, giving another thrust of his hips to try and get you to give him more as if this wasnât enough, only serving to fuck his cum deeper inside you. Your entire body felt as though it were on fire as the embarrassment began to flow through your veins, but Chigiri was certain heâd never been more in love with you.
âSuch a desperate little thing, pissinâ all over me, hm?â He cooed gently, youâre cunt responding to his sweet tone by clamping down around him, making no effort to try and pull out of you, âMy messy girl.â
#Saturnsuggests#Look; it's me waxing poetic about piss again.#Jo - what have you done to me.#This ended me in every single; beautiful way it could.#The roughness of Chigiri next to how he's described?#How he's so keen and effortless... The power he exudes throughout the whole thing.#The IDK give me what I want attitude...#Fuck me I don't even know this man and I need him.#And the structure? The way the piece flows so easily and paces itself around his neediness...#How the form and tone shift as Reader gets closer to letting go?#Phenomenal. Perfect. 10/10.#Also that last fucking line where he gets all mean.#Holy fuck.#I need to sit down.

I'm so sad that zom 100 got screwed over by production issues. I have no idea what happened or why, but it always hurts to see a good show be dragged down by outside influences. Is it a perfect show? Of course not. Some episodes are better than others and I don't love the way they handle female characters and romances (kencho and akira have infinitely more chemistry than akira and shizuka and I will die on this hill) But it's a good show! It has so much heart and the themes of making room for joy, standing up for yourself, and the value community are heartfelt, impactful, and well-done!
You can feel the passion and love poured into the show, and the concept is novel despite its simplicity. A fun, colorful, bright, and joyful zombie anime is genius! It's such a great twist on the genre that paves the way for stories that other zombie media just can't tell with their grim and dark tones.
Zom 100 isn't perfect, but I'm really glad it exists and I hope it's audience continues to find it! (I'm aware that it made the rounds after it's first episode and the last three episodes were the only ones particularly egregiously affected by the production issues in the form of a lengthy delay, but my point still stands đ
)
#zom 100 is the perfect kind of show for me to want to ramble endlessly about#it's that solid 8.5 to 9 out of 10 that's flawed yet compelling and full of heart that leaves me frothing at the mouth with tons of thought#the sheer depth of emotion (even when it's simple and straightforward) is so compelling and engaging that i can't help but be pulled in#it just has this magnetic charm about#but also enough flaws that i could talk about improvements i would make#or i could rage about the heteronormativity of it all and despair about the loss of an akira and kencho romance#or i could complain about the outfit choices for the female characters for obvious reasons đ
#or i could gush about the energetic and unique and upbeat soundtrack#or i could ramble about the fucking tour de force that was the first episodes and the narrative follow ups episodes that deal with akira's-#boss#because that its an absolutely phenomenal portrayal#anyway i need to go do something else instead of yelling into the void đ
#zom 100: bucket list of the dead#zom 100: zombie ni naru made ni shitai 100 no koto#zom 100

Ngl I will not tolerate an ill word about the Dunmeshi dub after SungWon Cho poured every ounce of his skill into the latest ep, like those scenes hit hard in the manga but his delivery of Senshi's lines made me actually cry. And god the shift back to humor with Elf!Senshi was masterful I knew what voice he'd do and it was PHENOMENAL to see it in action. Literally perfect 100/10 this guy is a god of voice acting and I will die defending this dub.

some positives about the atla live action series bc as much as i am a hater it's not good for the soul or the critical thinking skills to only hate things forever
the costumes are phenomenal. I really love all the live action character designs, they look fantastic
a lot of these young characters LOOK really really young, which is important. aang is a kid and they cast a kid and he looks like a kid. azula looks very young - in the cartoon (esp when you're a kid) you don't really think about it but she is a child. it's important that they're kids
the actors are doing a great job and I don't want to hear SHIT against them
suki's mom!!!!! I LOVE suki's mom as the tough-as-nails leader of kyoshi village. a shining example of a GOOD deviation from the original. changes can be good suki's mom is wonderful 10/10 no notes
some of the cgi looks really good!!! the wide shots of omashu look cool as hell and I know some people hate how the bending looks but I think it looks great. it was always gonna be hard to translate to live action but I think the cgi bending looks about as perfect as it could
lesbian oma and shu... so good so important... lesbian oma and shu
the cabbage man. love him
I thought it was cool how kyoshi like possessed him while he was in the avatar state. an interesting take on what the avatar state entails, lots of potential, and kyoshi herself showing up to save her village was a great use of it
jet oh my god jet they did jet really well
LOVE the secret tunnel musicians
azula being a prodigy archer is fantastic. she should
looks like there are actually a lot of things I enjoy about the reboot :)
(update: I don't know what's up with ian ousley's heritage so I'm just removing the thing I said. it's a positivity post anyway)
#my criticisms are deeper and more pervasive though#come back later for our regularly scheduled hatred#atla#atla netflix#atla live action#natla#avatar the last airbender

â
WHISPER CHALLENGE â
PAIRING Hugh Jackman x actress!reader
WARNINGS little spicy at the end but other then that itâs just fluff
The lights brighten, the band strikes up a tune, and the studio audience is buzzing with excitement. Jimmy Fallonâs voice cuts through the noise with his signature infectious energy.
âWelcome back, everyone!â Jimmy Fallonâs voice booms over the studio, pulling the crowdâs attention back to the stage. âTonight, we have a very special guest with us! Sheâs an incredible actress, a producer, a writer, and she just so happens to be starring in the new film Little Light. Please give it up for Y/N Jackman!â
You step onto the stage, beaming as the audience erupts into cheers and applause. You wave, offering them that warm, genuine smile youâve perfected over the years. Settling into the guest chair, you take a moment to appreciate the atmosphereâthereâs something so alive about being on Jimmyâs show.
Jimmy beams at you, leaning forward in his chair, the playful glint in his eyes unmistakable. âI have to say, Y/N, itâs great to have you back. Youâre always such a fun guest, and now youâre starring in Little Light â which Iâve heard so many incredible things about. Itâs a powerful story.â
You nod, crossing one leg over the other as you settle in. âYes, uh Little Light is really close to my heart. Itâs about a mother who experiences a miscarriage and finds an unexpected connection with her neighborâs granddaughter, whoâs staying with her grandmother for the summer.â
Jimmy nods, looking thoughtful. âThat sounds like such a moving story, Iâm so excited to watch it. Andâif Iâm not mistakenâyouâre starring in the movie alongside your own daughter, River?â
A smile crosses your face, a mix of pride and affection filling your voice. âYes, thatâs right. River plays the granddaughter in the film, and sheâs absolutely phenomenal. I mean, Iâm biased, obviously, but she blew me away on set. Sheâs 16 now and really coming into her own as an actress. Sheâs got such natural talent, and working with her⌠itâs been such an incredible experience.â
The audience lets out a collective âaww,â and Jimmy grins, his eyes widening in that playful way he has. âSixteen?! Sheâs already acting with her mumâhow cool is that?â
âYeah, sixteen going on thirty, I swear,â you joke, shaking your head with a smile. âBut, to be honest, it hasnât been easy. With her rising career, my work, Hughâs work, weâre constantly on the move. Itâs hard to balance everything sometimes. And right now, sheâs back at the hotel, actually. She wasnât feeling too great, so sheâs watching this on TV, probably critiquing every word I say.â You chuckle and wave at the camera. âHey, sweetie! Get well soon, I love you.â You added with a small kiss to the camera.
Jimmy leans forward conspiratorially. âSo, does she give you notes after interviews like this?â
âOh, absolutely,â you reply, grinning. âSheâll text me after every appearance like, âMum, why did you say that?â or âYou looked a bit awkward there.â Sheâs brutally honest. But I love it.â
Jimmy laughs along with you before shifting in his chair. âYou know, something else I heard⌠and you can tell me if this is true⌠you havenât seen Hugh in almost a year?â
âSadly, that is correct,â you say with a wistful sigh. âWith Little Light being an Australian movie, we filmed it thereâwhich, donât get me wrong, was absolutely amazing to be back homeâbut it meant that River and I were always across the world. Weâd typically be filming in America, so a 10-hour flight was manageable to visit Hugh. But an 18-hour one? Neither of us could do it with filming so itâs been tough. FaceTime has been our best friend at the moment,â you joked with a small laugh, trying to lighten the tension in the room that Jimmy could definitely feel, not so much the audience though.
Jimmy looks genuinely sympathetic. âThatâs gotta be so hard, especially after all this time together. But you two⌠youâve been through a lot, and you always seem to make it work.â
You nod appreciatively. âWe do. Weâve been married for a long time now, and weâve gotten pretty good at the long-distance thing. But itâs never easy. The reunions, though⌠those are always something special.â
After some more laughs and talking about the movie, itâs time for the commercial break. You sip some water, chatting briefly with Jimmy off-camera, as the stagehands move around preparing for the next segment.
As the cameras roll back on, Jimmy is already in game mode. âAlright, Y/N! You know we love to play games here, so I figured weâd try something a little fun,â he says, holding up a pair of headphones.
You laugh softly, already anticipating whatever wild challenge is coming. âOh boy, what have you got in store for me, Jimmy?â
âWeâre gonna play the Whisper Challenge!ââ he announces, holding up the headphones for the audience to see. âIâm going to wear these headphones and try to guess what youâre saying while I listen to loud music, then itâll be your turn. Sound good?â
You nod, leaning back in your chair with a playful glint in your eyes. âSounds great!â
Jimmy slips on his headphones and gives you a thumbs-up. The music starts blasting in his ears, and you mouth the phrase silently, moving your lips in exaggerated fashion.
Jimmy squints at you, clearly baffled. âUh⌠Salad dressing?â he guesses.
The audience erupts into laughter as you shake your head, mouthing the phrase again.
âSantaâs resting?â Jimmy tries again, causing another round of laughter.
You give him one more exaggerated mouth of the phrase. âShopping center?â He said confused, âIâm so bad at this,â he said, much more loudly then he meant form the music coming from his head phones.
You repeated the words once more, putting on as much emphasis as you could and you watched as Jimmyâs face lit up. âLittle Light! Little Light!â He said excitedly before taking off his headphones, âit was little light right?â He asked almost worried.
You let out a small laugh with a nod, âyes, yes it was little light.â
âWhew! I was worried Iâd never get that one. I wasnât even close as well, Santaâs resting? Where did I get that,â Jimmy chuckles, slipping off his headphones and shaking his head in amusement. âAlright, your turn!â
He hands you the headphones, and as you place them over your ears, you give him a grin. The loud music blasts into your ears almost immediately, and you can't help but laugh to yourselfâthis was definitely Riverâs favorite song. Sheâd been playing it nonstop in the car, at home⌠pretty much everywhere.
Jimmy raises his voice slightly to speak over the music, âWhatâs playing?â
You respond without thinking, still adjusting the headphones so they were no longer on your ears. âWhat? Oh shitâwait, are we playing yet?! Sorry for swearing! My bad!â you blurt out, the apology spilling out before you even register Jimmy laughing across from you.
âNo, no! Youâre good!â Jimmy reassures you, still chuckling. âI asked you what song was playing.â He repeated
âItâs murder on the dance floor,â you answered, âRiver absolutely loves this song.â You added, flashing him a sheepish grin before putting the headphones back on. The game begins, and as Jimmy starts mouthing words, you do your best to concentrate, squinting as if that might help you somehow decipher the movements of his lips.
âyour husband is behind you.â He said, emphasing the word.
You tilt your head, not quite catching what he said. âThe tour is behind me? What?â You shrug, honestly still a little distracted by the music.
The audience suddenly bursts into loud cheers, and you notice the energy in the room shift. Your brow furrows in confusion as you glance back at Jimmy, whoâs now practically glowing with excitement. He repeats himself slowly, exaggerating every word, âYOUR HUSBAND⌠IS BEHIND YOU.â
Before you can even process what heâs saying, you feel a pair of hands gently land on your shoulders. You jump slightly, your headphones slipping off as you whirl aroundâonly to see Hugh standing right there, grinning down at you.
Your eyes go wide, your mouth falling open in shock. Without thinking, you spin in your chair, shifting to kneel on the cushion so you can throw your arms around him. The audience erupts into applause and cheers as you hug him tightly, not even caring that youâre half-perched on the chair. You squeeze your eyes shut for a second, savoring the moment of finally having him close after so long apart.
Hugh chuckles softly, his voice warm and full of affection. âMissed me?â
You pull back just enough to look up at him, still in disbelief. âYou have no idea,â you whisper, your smile so big it almost hurts. âOh my god.â
Jimmy laughs, clapping his hands together as the audienceâs cheers grow louder. "Hugh Jackman, everybody!" he calls out, standing up and joining in the applause.
Hugh gives a small wave to the audience before turning his attention back to you. Youâre still in shock, hands covering your mouth as you try to comprehend what just happened. The cameras catch every second of your raw, genuine reaction, and itâs clear to everyone that this moment means everything to you.
Jimmy, ever the showman, grins and says, âI think we just had the best Whisper Challenge moment in history right here!â
You laugh, watching as Hugh comes to sit next to you. âI did not expect that. You sneaky bastard,â you joke, playfully swatting his arm.
Hugh chuckles, his arm resting behind you. âI figured Iâd surprise you, and when Jimmy reached out to me about it, I thought, âWhy not?â Itâs been way too long.â
Jimmy leans forward, loving every second of this wholesome interaction. âSo, Hugh, how did you manage to keep this a secret from Y/N?â
âOh, it wasnât easy,â Hugh admits, smirking. âI had to avoid every FaceTime call for the last few days so I wouldnât slip up. But it was worth it.â
You shake your head, still smiling, feeling your heart swell with happiness. âI canât believe you pulled this off.â
Hugh chuckles, taking your hand in his. âIt was just too good of an opportunity to pass up.â
Jimmy sits back down, looking at Hugh with newfound enthusiasm. âAlright, Hugh, now that youâre here, Iâve gotta askâhow excited are you to see Little Light?â
Hughâs eyes light up. âOh, Iâm thrilled! Iâve seen some early footage, and itâs incredible. I tried to get Y/N to show me more but she wonât budge.â
You laugh, looking over at him lovingly, âjust because your my husband doesnât mean you get special treatment.â You teased
âI showed you unreleased Deadpool and Wolverine footage!â Hugh defended with a smile.
âYou wanted to! You said you desperately needed someone to talk to about it because Ryan was annoying you.â You replied
âI did not say that. Stop putting words in my mouth,â he says with a small shake of his head but still having a smile on his face.
âIâm not putting words in your mouth! If anything River is because she told me thatâs what you said on the phone!â You said, Hugh letting out a laugh, muttering of course she did under his breath.
âSpeaking of River, what do you think about her acting career? I mean, sheâs following in her parentsâ footsteps in a big way.â Jimmy asked with a smile
Hughâs face softens with pride as he talks about his daughter. âIâm incredibly proud of her. Sheâs got so much talent and dedication. Watching her grow and develop her craft has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Sheâs worked so hard, and seeing her succeed is just amazing. We have to get all of us in a film together.â He added with a soft laugh.
âIâm sure sheâs jumping up and down in the hotel room because she gets to see her dad again.â Jimmy smiles.
âI can actually call her,â Hugh mentions casually as he brings out his phone.
âOh my god, yes.â Jimmy nodded, leaning in as it rang.
âYou can get mad at her for being sick,â you told Jimmy with a smirk.
The phone rings a few more times before River picks up, her voice immediately full of energy. âOh my god,I canât believe youâre here!â She explained happily. âI wish I was there. Why the hell did I have to be sick today of all days.â She sighed, âI do have to say that if you donât come straight to the hotel after the interview I will genuinely never speak to you again.â
Hugh laughs softly, shaking his head in mock disbelief. "You heard that, right? No pressure or anything." He looks at you and Jimmy with a grin.
"Sheâs got you wrapped around her little finger, doesnât she?" Jimmy teases, leaning forward as if heâs sharing a secret.
You nod, chiming in with a smirk, âCompletely. He doesnât stand a chance.â
Riverâs voice comes through the speaker, playfully annoyed. âMum, donât gang up on him! Iâm sick, remember?â
âOh trust me, I know,â you say, feigning seriousness. âIâm the one who had to watch The Office with you for the past two days.â
Hugh chuckles, shaking his head. âYou love it, admit it.â
âI do, I do, I got to baby her again so it was great,â you confess with a laugh, before addressing River again. âAlright, sweetie, weâll come straight to the hotel after this, I promise.â
âYouâd better,â River replies, her tone softening. âLove you both. Get through the rest of the interview, then come hang out with your sick daughter.â
âLove you too,â Hugh says before hanging up the call, slipping his phone back into his pocket. He leans back in his chair, looking content. âSheâs always keeping us on our toes.â
Jimmy smiles warmly, looking between the two of you. âIâve gotta say, you three are the definition of family goals. I love it.â
You glance at Hugh, sharing a knowing look before turning back to Jimmy. âWeâre pretty lucky, thatâs for sure.â
âWell, I think thatâs a perfect note to wrap things up. Y/N, Hugh, thank you both so much for being here. Itâs been an absolute pleasure. And Hugh, itâs always great to have you. Donât forget, everyoneâgo see Little Light in cinemas August 14th, and mark your calendars for Deadpool and Wolverine on July 26th!â Jimmy says with a large smile.
The interview wraps with a warm round of applause, and as soon as the cameras stop rolling, you and Hugh exchange quick smiles with Jimmy before stepping off the stage. The lights dim, and the lively hum of the audience fades into the background as you make your way toward the backstage area. Hughâs arm wraps around your waist, drawing you closer as you navigate the narrow hallway.
As soon as youâre inside the dressing room, the tension hits like a wave. Hughâs hand doesnât leave your side, fingers brushing your waist like heâs scared youâll slip away again. The door barely clicks shut before his lips crash into yoursâno hesitation, no holding back, just pure need after a year of waiting.
You melt into him immediately, your hands flying up to grip his shoulders, fingers digging in as if you need to make sure heâs solid, that this isnât just another dream of him that youâll wake up from alone. The kiss deepens, hot and urgent, months of distance and longing pouring into it. The way he holds you, like heâs afraid youâll disappear if he lets go, makes your heart skip.
Your back hits the door with a thud, and you canât help but smile into the kiss, breathless but teasing as you mumble against his lips, âYou know... someone might hear us.â
His lips curve into a grin, and he pulls back just enough to look at you, forehead resting against yours, his eyes dark with hunger. His hands slide down your body, fingers tightening at your hips, pulling you closer until thereâs not an inch of space between you. âLet them,â he breathes, voice low, almost a growl. âI donât give a damn. Iâve waited a whole fucking year for this. For you. Let the whole world hear.â
Your laugh comes out soft, shaky, your heart pounding in your chest like itâs trying to keep pace with his. You let your hands wander down his chest, feeling the hard muscle beneath his shirt, the steady thud of his heartbeat beneath your fingertips. âI missed you too,â you whisper, eyes locked on his. Then you pull him back into a kissâthis one slower, more deliberate, but still burning with the intensity thatâs been building for far too long.
Every touch, every brush of his lips against yours, feels like itâs pulling you deeper into him, and for the first time in what feels like forever, you let yourself give in. His hands explore, tracing your sides, your back, reacquainting themselves with every inch of you. You respond in kind, your hands sliding beneath his shirt, fingers mapping the familiar lines of his torso, rediscovering every scar, every dip and ridge of muscle.
The kiss breaks only when youâre both gasping for air, but even then, neither of you pulls away. You rest your head against his chest, feeling the rise and fall of his breathing, and for a moment, the world fades away. Itâs just the two of you, the rest of the universe outside that door forgotten.
He presses a kiss to the top of your head, his arms wrapping around you, holding you tight as if he canât believe youâre really here. âI thought about you every day,â he admits, his voice barely a whisper, rough with emotion. âI couldnât stop. I tried. But nothing... nothing feels right without you.â
Your heart clenches at his words, and you pull back just enough to meet his eyes, your hands cupping his face. âI know,â you whisper back, your voice soft but steady. âMe too.â
He kisses you again, slower this time, like heâs savoring every second, every inch of you. Itâs not just about need anymoreâitâs about the connection, about being with the one person who feels like home. You donât need to speak; the way his hands hold you, the way his lips move against yours, says it all.
Looks like River might need to hold off a bit longer before she gets to see her dad again.

i remember how last seasonâs promo was all about how this pirate show had a big budget and big LED screen and how everything was big and exciting! and now the promo is david saying âwhat the crew did with a small budget is incredibleâ and âwe make do with what we have :Dâ like itâs a good thing. how did we go from being proud to have a big budget to this, you know? it makes me so sad
One thing I haven't seen a lot of talk about in the fandom so far is about the financials of this season.
It took us two whole months to get a confirmation of renewal from Max, and I talked at the time that I think there was probably a lot of heated negotiations going on at the time with contracts and that's why it took as long as it did.
I think we see a huge number of indications of the compromises that were made in order for S2 to be made. One obvious one that has been talked about is being making in in NZ instead of LA, to save $.
But there's also the eight episodes instead of ten. And then the cast aspect. One downside of moving overseas was having to fly out and house the cast, not just pay day wages.
We knew immediately about Guz Khan not coming back, losing Ivan as a character. At the time I was sad but I thought it had the air of a pretty harshly practical call. If you went through the main recurring cast and said okay which character will affect the fewest things, has the least character interactions of anyone? It would be Ivan. (With the only competition being The Swede IMO, but he's Stede's crew and therefore a little more central.)
And then this season started and we got first The Swede sidelined and taken out of major scenes. And then I noticed that different members of the crew were simply absent for long stretches, like Wee John isn't around for ep 5 at all. And then Buttons takes flight.
Lucius and Pete aren't at the party for most of it. Fang isn't in the torture scene. Roach and Fang aren't in the bar. Etc. SCHEDULING IS HAPPENING.
The new characters are almost entirely played by NZ local actors, which is great, but also...cheaper.
In other words there are big signs that they did everything possible to give us a giant cast of almost everyone we love from S1, and cool new characters, in the most economical way possible.
And I'm grateful for it. I'm grateful we got S2, and it looks great, and it's well written, I'm having a blast, and we get to spend more time with this awesome cast.
But I also kinda think it needs to be said that the cost-cutting shows. That it shouldn't have been only 8 episodes, the pacing is off. That we miss every time someone from the ensemble isn't on screen.
That despite what they've put on screen looking very good, there's far less costuming budget, there's less elaborate sets, and it's a little disappointing. And it's clear it's not a lack of will or talent or vision but blatantly lack of money.
Look, streaming networks want brilliant shows that people love (that will get them to subscribe) but they very don't want to pay anyone to make them. That's like, the whole moment we're having right now.
Max puts out promos about how great it is to not have unions messing shit up in NZ. Well I have friends who are union costumers in LA and guess what union costumers did amazing last season. This season, well, I guess Stede got three whole shirts, so that's cool.
So I dunno. It's just stuff I think about. I'm not trying to be negative about the show in any way. I'm extremely happy with this season; I love it more than well, possibly any show I've ever been in fandom for.
But I see you, Max. You're cheap. You weren't that cheap when you were called HBO.
#i agree with every single word in this#this show as it is now is one of my favorite things ever made#i love it so much and cheerish it dearly#but it depresses me to think of what it could have been had itâd been given the chance. and the money#this season is phenomenal but it would have been even better with 10 episodes#and the show overall would have been perfect with 50 min episodes#and they have been in the republic of pirates so much this season already. itâs almost like.. itâs the only set they have#itâs sad. itâs very sad because itâs not anybodyâs fault but maxâs and corporate greed and capitalism#it makes me so so sad to see such wonderful creativity being limited like this#i wish there was something to be done about that :( wish the show got sold to someone thatâd give it the love it deserves#itâs almost like the gayer it became with the main pairing the less it got promoted lol#ugh i have capitalism

J-Hope Fic Recommendations (18+)
If you are already following me for quite some time then you should know that I am a massive masochist and I like to torture myself by reading and writing angsty stories. So, most of the stories that I recommended are angsty as well (might as well have sad endings). So please carefully read the warnings before proceeding. Have a happy reading.
And please don't expect much from me. There are several other rec lists far better than mine. The only motive I had behind creating this list to promote some of the stories, which I think are very underrated. especially angsty ones. These stories are beautifully written so.. I just wanted to let the authors know how phenomenal of a job they have done (As a writer myself I know how much this actually means). Thanks to these amazing writers and I am grateful that they decided to share their work here with us.
[Minors please stay away from my blog!]
Key: F - Fluff, A- Angst, S- Smut, Y- Yandere, *- Personal Favorite
Oneshots
1. Ash from his fire by @filmcrystal - A, implied S, cheating au
It will break your heart so please proceed with caution.
2. Forbidden Fruit by @deepdarkdelights - A, Y
This one deals with several triggering topics. Hence, read the warnings carefully. But I can say that you will love this twisted mafia Hoseok way too much!
3. Shadows by @borathae - A, exes au
One of the most underrated stories I have ever read! Yeah, it is very angsty and Hoseok is so cruel but... we all are masochist here. lmao!
4. Heaven sent by @aquagustd - A, F, S, f2l au
Sexy soccer player Hoseok is just another name for perfection.
5. Bound by @explicit-tae - S, kinda f2l
Talk abut BDSM! GOOOD Sweet Lord!!!
6. Jigsaw by @sunshinejunghoseokie - A *
I remembered crying after reading this one. So damn underrated that it physically hurts me!!
7. Delta Disorder by @bangtanintotheroom Y, S, Supernatural au
I don't usually read supernatural stuff but this demon Hoseok is way too sexy to skip!
8. Systems of Touch by @yeoldontknow - S, F, tiny A, S2l au
Beautifully written! The author used 100% of their capabilities to write this one. Perfectly drawn Professor Hoseok with a very attractive character of reader. Certainly a treat to read.
9. 2:00 AM by @likeastarstar - A, fuckbuddy Hoseok
Part of a series but can be read as a standalone. and Hoseok is a dick in this.
10. Love Quarrels by @mirahuyooo - A, F, mafia au
A cold yet soft mafia husband Hoseok chases behind his angry wife... could there be anything better than that?
11. The Hook Up ft. JK by @minisugakoobies - S
A little bit of a triangle.. but not love? if that makes sense.
12. Entelechy by @drmflm - suggestive (I believe)
Can't call this one angst and neither is this about Hoseok (he is there, don't worry). This one is more about the reader and her growth and it's beautiful.
13. Orgasms on the verge of a nervous breakdown by @sluttyandere - S, Y *
This is very dark and quite triggering, so please don't read unless you can handle those stuff.
14. For the night by @aseaofyoongi - A, S
I cried. that's all.

9:21 AM.
Tap. Tap. Tap. The sound of your index finger drumming a slow and steady cadence against the table was nearly in perfect synchronization to the tick tock of the clock above the wall behind you. An icy, uninviting atmosphere was the best way to describe the current situation inside the conference room at this time of the morning, with the gelid detachment between the boss and her employees as you built a wallâan impenetrable wallâaround yourself to keep the inner turmoil you had in your head.Â
So, you listened. You succumbed to silence as a result.Â
âIâd like to present this new idea that we, along with the ecommerce team, have come up with to increase engagement on our website.â Even as the marketing manager started to speak, you remained frigid. âWe did go through some feedback that people have been posting online and theyâre mostly saying that the current web theme is too plain and that theyâre hoping to see a more engaging website, so we would love to propose some ideas that could improve Hearteâs overall online presence. We know that keeping the brandâs look consistent is very important, especially now that Hearte is still establishing its own name in the fashion industry, and we have currently done a phenomenal job with our brand style. However, as the online website is our visual storefront, not only is its functionality critical, but we also have to ensure that the web design is in line with our aesthetics.âÂ
9:26 AM.Â
You leaned back on your chair with your arms crossed, looking up to speak to the manager from across the conference room. âLetâs keep the unnecessary introduction short and just go straight to the point,â you strictly announced, receiving curious eyes in return as it was their first time seeing you becoming all stern and unamused. Such an odd sight to see from a boss who used to have the brightest of sunshines reflecting on her smile. âWhatâs the proposal?âÂ
The marketing manager cleared her throat and moved her presentation onto the next slide. âYes, Ms. Y/N. So⌠uh, based on the data that you can see on the screen, our online sales increased by 15% for the past two weeks, but we still have about 10% of shoppers abandoning their shopping carts. Earlier this week, we set up email campaigns and social reminders to decrease our abandonment rate and urge shoppers to return to their carts. While working with the IT team, we did some A/B testing to determine which version would drive our business metrics. Weâve also reached out to The Society Management and added Kendall Jenner to our PR list so that possibly, in the future, we can get her as a model for our landing page and attract the western market,â she continuously explained in a manner to convince you of how much effort their department was doing to increase Hearteâs sales, âBut what we believe could bring a tremendous improvement on our website engagement is by introducing style guides. This will capture the interest of the audience now that they can mix and match some outfits based on their own style, andââ
9:32 AM.
Sigh.
âMs. Ono, I have to be honest, but I expected more from you,â you cut her off by leaving a frank comment on her presentation, âFashion brands have been doing style guides for years. You make it sound like itâs unique, but itâs nothing new. How sure are we that it will actually bring a dramatic improvement on our website engagement? I doubt most of them would even browse through it.âÂ
âWell, uhâŚâ The marketing manager faltered, glancing at the head of the social media team for some help, which she didnât end up receiving. âI think itâll work the way we want it to as long as we introduce engaging copies that make buyers fall in love with the designs.âÂ
âYou think?â You criticized her word of choice. âMs. Ono, I gave you enough time to brainstorm with your team, so the moment you step inside of this conference room, you should have prepared whatever strategy you had in mind. I donât settle for ambitious words like âI thinkâ or âI believeâ. I want to hear a proposal thatâs original, unique, and captivating. I want you to be a hundred percent sure that you know what youâre doing before you waste everyoneâs time like this. Do you understand? Am I being clear? I want a proposal that would definitely get us somewhere and not just by assuming we will.âÂ
Were you being too harsh? They said that the fashion industry in itself was harsh, so what was so surprising about seeing you being strict, candid, and business-like? This was the nature of your job. This was normal.Â
9:47 AM.Â
Very timidly did Nobara raise her hand beside you to chime in on the discussion. âI know Iâm not in the position to make suggestions, butâŚâ She pressed something on her laptop before carefully sliding it to your side of the table, showing you what appears to be a classic early 2000s âdress-up gameâ with a base model and a selection of outfits that were inspired by your designs. âI just wanted to show you this, Ms. Y/N. I do agree with Ms. Onoâs idea to introduce style guides, but maybe we can do it in an interactive way. I know the dress-up game idea may look childish and unsophisticated, but I was kinda hoping that we can just make certain adjustments so that it could match Hearteâs classy and simplistic style. We can have base models in different body types and skin tones to show our brandâs diversity, then we can have shoppers try dressing them up using the outfits on our current collection. That allows them to easily visualize how the pieces would look on a certain skin tone and body type.âÂ
The way everyone else in that conference table looked at Nobara was very obvious that they were expecting you to reprimand her for even having the guts to offer such a farcical idea. What does she know? They were probably thinking that. Youâre just an intern. You knew they were saying that in their minds. On the other hand, you surprisingly liked her proposal and enjoyed the unique idea of introducing it to the website because her proposal actually did make sense. People would be curious, people would try it out by interacting with the website, and that means the engagement would rise up.Â
âI like that idea. We can go with that,â you said, sliding the laptop back to her while nodding at the marketing and social media managers, âI need the team to discuss Nobaraâs idea further and polish it thoroughly before we can start adding it onto the website. Make adjustments as needed and ensure that everything is still in line with our brand. If you notice any flaws with this proposal, you can flag them with me and Iâll review them.âÂ
9:54 AM.Â
Just as you were about to wrap up the meeting, a certain someone entered the conference room in hasteâpanting out of breath with her long, wavy hair and creased red pants. âIâm so sorry, Iâm late.âÂ
Her casualness made you clench your jaws tightly, fueling the fire to your already terrible day. You could no longer stop yourself from unleashing your rage as you looked up at her with a critical squint. âMs. Hirai, what timeâs it?âÂ
âItâs ten, I know. Iâm so sorry,â she repeated her apologies and paid an apologetic bow to everyone in the meeting room, âIâm sorry, everyone. I was caught up in heavy traffic today.âÂ
You let out a silent scoff and ignored her compunctious act. âHow long are we gonna keep using that excuse, really?â you questioned her, earning the intrigued eyes of your employees who were all sensing the sudden tension between you and your best friend, âAs the fashion merchandiser and my second-in-command, you shouldâve been here in this meeting with me, but where were you? You anticipated that there would be heavy traffic, yet you couldnât be responsible enough in coming to work early knowing that we have a meeting? Or was it because youâre too busy doing other things so youâre no longer interested in showing up to work on time?âÂ
Akemi shook her head, contritely. âItâs⌠Itâs not like that.âÂ
âNot like what?â Your icy stare bored into her. No trace of compassion was present in your eyes. âIâm sure youâre living a very blissful life outside of work and Iâm glad you are, but is that also why you donât bother with anything else anymore?âÂ
âY/Nââ
âMiss Y/N,â you corrected, âIâm your boss, so treat me like one.âÂ
Wide, chocolate brown eyes greeted you in response. It was clear that she was at a loss of words and could only repeat her meaningless apologies a thousand times. âIâm really sorry, Ms. Y/N. It wonât happen again.âÂ
âYou didnât even let me know that youâll be coming in late,â you continued and ignored the pitiful expression on her face, focusing on her swollen red lips and her dewy, rosy cheeks. She must have had a really good morning to look like a cherry blossom on a spring day. Was she so preoccupied being all lovey dovey with your ex-husband this morning? Did she sleep comfortably on the same marital bed you used to share with him? Your jaw tensed visibly. âYouâre just coming in whenever you want. You donât respect peopleâs time. You donât respect my rules. You donât respect me.âÂ
Yes, you were overreacting by taking things too personally and it was the reason why you got up from your seat and bolted out of the conference room upon realizing your unusual outburst. You could hear the clicking sound of your stiletto echoing across the corridor as you stomped towards your office, swinging the glass door open and heading straight towards the ceiling-to-floor window to have some peace of mind. Peace? How ridiculous. How could you find peace? You couldnât even grasp the fact that your best friend was acting like everything was normal. You couldnât understand why she was rubbing her relationship to your face as if she wasnât just a placeholder to somebodyâs ex wife.
âY/N?â Akemiâs voice cut you out of your toxic trail of thoughtsâyour mouth thinning with displeasure while you didnât bother turning around to meet her gaze. Breathe. You had to breathe and think rationally. âIâŚI understand youâre really angry right now, but I was hoping we can have this much needed talk.âÂ
You could feel her reaching for your hand at the height of your frustration and your defensive instinct led you to angrily swing your arm away, accidentally hitting her cheek as you pivoted on your heel to face her. It took two seconds for your eyes to shift from glaring in frustration to widening in surprise after seeing the small cut your diamond ring left on her cheek. âAre you okay?âÂ
âY-Yeah, no, itâs fine,â she insisted with her palm pressed onto the right side of her face. âI deserved it.âÂ
Good lord. What was happening to you? Despite having all these unspoken rage and unresolved conflicts between the two of you, you would still drop everything and be concerned for her. You would still let your walls collapse. You were the villain that couldnât stick to being a villain. Why? Why did you feel this way? Was it because you knew she wasnât technically doing anything wrong? Or was it because you were just projecting your personal frustrations onto her? Was betrayal really the issue here? Or was it the huge possibility that she could in fact be Gojouâs one true love? You had thought of this before, but the same questions in your head never stopped. And never did they stop from invading your headspace as you made your way towards the small fridge to grab an ice pack that you soon offered to Akemi, leading her to one of the couches while finally coming into your senses.Â
Yet there was silence and nothing but awkward silence when you two sat at a safe distance from each other.Â
âIâm shameless.â She was the first one to break the uncomfortable atmosphere. âI know youâre thinking that and I do agree with you. I really am shameless to even look you in the eye right now.âÂ
You sighed and looked away, only to keep yourself from the furnace of pain that you had been bottling inside. âStop. Youâre making me seem like a villain right now. Iâm tired of seeing myself this way.â
She closed her legs and sat humbly, reaching forward to squeeze your hand. âYouâre not. Youâre not a villain and you never were,â said the same woman you accidentally smacked a few minutes ago, âI understand why you would feel a certain way towards me. Iâd even understand if you hate me so much that you wanna murder me. Iâm your best friend and I know about your history with Satoru, yet here I am seeing your ex-husband behind your back. I didnât mean it. I didnât plan it. I truly didnât. Even though youâre not together anymore and Iâm technically not homewrecking anyone, Iâm still putting usâyou and Iâin a really awkward position. You didnât deserve any of that and Iâm very sorry.âÂ
At least, she was self-aware. But looking at the brighter side of things, you were getting calmer now that you were hearing her side of the story, though that didnât stop you from feeling any less horrible. âI donât really care who you date,â you claimed, adamantly, âAnd I most definitely do not care who Satoru chooses to date. Weâve been divorced for three years.âÂ
âItâs still not right that Iâm seeing him.â She let her guilt speak up for her.Â
And you let your resentment speak for you. âThen, why him of all people?â
âItâsâŚâÂ
âComplicated?âÂ
âY-YeahâŚâÂ
You decided to keep a straight face. âHow did this happen?âÂ
Akemi looked as if you had just forced her to be on the hot seat because of the apathy on your visage. âIt was a drunken mistake at first and we kinda justâŚâ
âIâm not asking about when you two started fucking,â you replied, bluntly. Something you had never done before in your usual sophisticated vocabulary. âIâm asking when you realized you have feelings for him. When did you fall in love with him?âÂ
She had trouble finding the right answer. âIt just happened. I d-donât really know. Whenever you asked me to look after him, I guess the bond he and I developed from that made me see him in a different light.âÂ
You disregarded the pain in your chest and let the volcano explode on its own, because her answer only meant that she was already growing feelings for your ex-husband at the same time you were confiding to her about him. That was the worst part of it all.Â
âWhy do you like him?â you questioned further, âDespite knowing what happened while I was married to him, why did you still end up falling in love with him? If thatâs so hard to answer, then donât think about us or me or our friendship. Just think about the decisions you made for yourself. Why are you with Satoru?âÂ
Her gaze found the floor. Hesitance. Guilt. Shame. Those emotions were all dancing in her eyes in a complete roundabout. While she took a moment to fully reassess her decision, you werenât sure if you deserved to still feel hurt when she gave you an honest answer. âWhen I met Satoru, I didnât meet the toxic, cheating ex-husband that he was known for,â she said, slowly, âI met a man who holds such a high respect for his ex-wife, adores his son like his greatest gift of all, and values his marriage more than anything else in this world. I met a vulnerable man who isnât afraid to open his heart to strangers. A man who gave me emotional support even when heâs the one who needed it the most. I⌠Itâs hard to explain, butâŚâÂ
Was there really anything left to say? Her point was clear, and your silence while she was speaking was more so because you were trying not to let the tiny pricks in your heart affect you further than it already did. The fullness of her voice and the way her eyes shined when she talked about him were enough to tell you that your best friend had truly fallen in love and you would be cruel to take that away from her. Even from him. They would not have been involved in such an intimate relationship if there had been no attraction between them to begin with, so then⌠Why did it feel like you were being cheated on? She was no Sera, and he was not the Satoru that only used you for his corporate ambitions. It was just Akemi and Satoruâthey were each otherâs right person at the right time. The only thing blocking their path to a loving relationship was you.Â
You. The irrational and spiteful ex-wife. The ex-wife who always played the âvictim cardâ. The selfish ex-wife who wanted all the good things to only come her way.Â
Well, god be damned, because you were beginning to confuse yourself with the version of you that wasnât even remotely like you at all. She was just a mirrored image of yourself that you thought people perceived.Â
âYou can do what you want.â The moment you spoke again, you were already creating a huge wall between you and your best friend, making sure that there were boundaries that none of you should ever cross now that she had chosen to be with someone you had sincerely loved in the past. It may sound like you were letting go, but truth be told, you just didnât think that you even had the option to hold onto anything. Satoru wasnât yours and you werenât his anymore. You were two individuals living separate lives. âIf you wanna be with him, thatâs your choice. I donât plan on intervening. It just⌠just really surprised me that you didnât have the decency to tell me at all.âÂ
Akemi nodded, apologetically desperate. âI understand how youâre feeling and Iâm sorry. I really, truly am sorry, Y/N.â Her voice and her countenance did show the genuineness in her plea to be forgiven, but you were too numb to feel anything else. âI hope we can stay friends despite everything.âÂ
How could you even stay friends in a situation like this?Â
First option was to keep pretending that their relationship wasnât bothering you. Second option was to focus on your own relationship with Toji to the point where everything else just didnât matter anymore.
Yeah, you thought. You could certainly choose the latter.Â
âOur friendship isnât my top priority at the moment,â was your straightforward response to her, âI wanna focus on my son and his relationship with his father. Thatâs all.âÂ
Any regular person would have thought: âWow, Y/N. You handled that well.â âYouâre so mature.â âYouâre a lot calmer than we expected.â The thing was, you really did think that you had been way too calm about it. In spite of the scene you caused at the conference room, or the dramatic exchange you had with Akemi in your office, you still handled it much better than one would think. In TV shows or movies, the ex-wife would have dragged the best friend to the ground, slapped her face, pulled her hair, started a nasty catfight, and called her all the terrible labels you could think of. Look, part of you wanted to do that. And the other part of youâthe sympathetic, altruistic part of youâthought you shouldnât do that. You would only look pathetic.Â
Of all the negative things Satoru had made you feel over the course of your failure of a marriage, this aftermath was probably the toughest.Â
You just weren't in the right state of mind to justify why.Â
You also couldnât justify why you had been looking for unhealthy ways to cope with stress and anxiety. If anyone from your family saw you standing at the smoking area near the parking lot right now, they would have given you an earful of how you must be out of your mind for even putting a cigarette stick between your lips. How exactly could tobacco be good for you? You would say, first of all, that nicotine does in fact cause pleasant feelings to distract you from unpleasant ones. You couldnât find any other way to relax your mind any faster than one cigarette stick could. Besides, staying in the office and seeing Akemi around was getting too suffocating and you couldnât afford to have your negative mood lingering in your mind for the rest of the day. One stick wouldnât hurt. Another one wouldnât, too. And another one should be fine, right?Â
âWhat the hell do you think youâre doing?âÂ
The irony. You didnât even have the time to recoil before the main cause of your stress showed up in front of you, frowning after he snatched the cigarette stick out of your lips. He was quick to throw it to the ground, stomp on it like he would do with your heart, and give you a questioning look that made you scoff at the ridiculousness of this situation. This could be a dream for heavenâs sake. Or a hallucination. There was no way Satoru Gojou would be standing right in front of you just as you were thinking about him.
âSince when have you been doing this?â he questioned again, holding your wrist this time to make you realize that his presence or this interaction wasnât just a figment of your imagination. It would have been better that way, but the reality was, Satoru was there and he wasnât the least bit pleased. âI know youâre mad at me and this isnât the right time for me to chew you out like this, butâŚâ he paused, taking your cigarette pack. âI canât believe youâre fucking smoking right now, Y/N. Did you get this habit from Toji?â
Okay. Gojou could be way out-of-line sometimes, but this was the apex of it.Â
âDonât bring Toji into this,â you snapped back, shooting him a glare that could easily kill. âWhat are you doing here?â
You could see how deep his inhale was just by the loudness of his sigh after it. His face showed a combination of yearning, regret, frustration, and pity as if he was deciding which emotion should dominate him more. But among the multitude of emotions that were drowning him right now like a tidal wave, he looked all the more exhausted. Whether it was dealing with you, trying to make amends with you, or simply being around youâyou could tell that he wanted to drop his constant need to care for you because it was beginning to tire him out.Â
He didnât really answer your question, and instead, asked one of his own. âAre you smoking because of stress?â he asked, trying to mask the sympathy in his eyes. âItâs bad for you. Set a good example for Sachiro.âÂ
Youâre bad for me, you wanted to say. Why did it even matter to him, anyway? You were nothing more than just a mother to his child. Anything outside that role was completely not his business anymore. The fact that he was even within the vicinity of your office was ridiculous, because you were already having a bad day and his presence was adding further into it. âDonât you dare talk about setting a good example to my son like youâre so righteous yourself.âÂ
âY/N, come on.â He reached for your hand once more as if trying to show how much he cared or how worried he was with what you were doing to yourself because of him. âI donât want you toââ
âKeep your fucking distance, Gojou. Youâre not in the place to give a damn about me anymore,â you raged, withdrawing your wrist and breathing heavily as you tried to keep yourself from further exploding. You would have. You were so close to cursing him off, but you saw the flash of pure shock in his eyes, and that was how you realized what you just did. All these violent reactions, these unusual outburstsâthese were not you. This was not the meek, soft-spoken ex-wife that he was once married to.Â
âToru?âÂ
Unfortunately, Gojou no longer had enough attention span to listen when he looked away, only to turn to his new woman with a genuinely worried expression painted on his face as soon as he saw her coming out of the building with a hand on her cheek. You realized that he was actually here to pick her up and was doing everything that a caring boyfriend would; checking every inch of her face to see how bad she was hurt and asking her what happened and whether she was okay. You didnât know how to react the moment he turned back to you with his tired, yet passively accusatory eyes. âDid something happen?âÂ
You knew that his question actually translated to: âDid you slap her?â With your thorough knowledge about his acquired trauma from physical violence, you felt the sudden need to clear your name, but you didnât know if you should be grateful that it was already your best friend who did the part in doing such. âNothing happened. It was an accident.â Her tone was almost begging before she started tugging his arm. âLetâs just go, please.âÂ
Satoru didnât want to let it go, but decided that it was best to just leave it be as he glanced at you with a slightly detached gaze. âIâll see you in a couple of days,â he reminded, referring to the dreaded New York trip together with Sachiro.Â
A conflicted look from him and an apologetic gaze from her. That was all that you received before they got inside the car and left you alone and miserable in that parking lot. You watched his car fade into view with her on the passenger seat and him probably holding her hand as he drove through the street. Just when you thought you could actually stomach the sight of him and her together, it would be a big fat lie to say that it didnât sting. It stung worse than the times he ran after Sera than to stay behind with you. Worse than when he used to treat you like a mistress rather than a wife.Â
You must be going crazy, indeed. Who in their right mind would cry over her ex-husband in the middle of the parking lot? Why would you even shed tears when you were the one who wanted him to find someone else and move on? This was becoming a never-ending loop because you were letting yourself be affected by it. It shouldnât be that way. Never.Â
âToji.â You were doing your hardest to conceal the weakness in your voice as you pressed your phone into your right ear. âI-I need you⌠right now. Please.âÂ
âHey, I was just about to pick-up Sachi from daycare. Is everything okay?âÂ
Wiping your eyes, you looked at the dull skies wondering if the universe was trying to reflect all these emotions running inside of you. âYeah⌠Can you come soon?âÂ
He didnât really hesitate to answer, quickly understanding that he had to drop everything else right now and be with you. âAlright, Iâll be there.âÂ
Satoru was conflicted, but he didnât know what exactly made him feel that way. Was it because he saw you smoking in the parking lot? Or was it because he could tell that you gave Akemi a tongue-lashing after catching her half-naked at the penthouse a few days ago? Either way, both options were not very you. And he couldnât understand why you were slowly starting to look less and less like the person he knew, which was confusing on his part because you had been adamant on telling him to forget about you. You were rigid on your decision to not let him enter your life as your husband for the second time around. He told you he still loved you, but you said you loved another. He told you he wanted to work things out and make your family complete again, but you said you were already doing that with someone else. Gojou knew his hands werenât clean and the reason you may be acting that way was because out of all the women he could have been with, it had to be Akemi Hirai. Your best friend. Your confidante. Your business partner. She was a territory he shouldnât have crossed, yet he did.Â
But, at the same time, she was the only person who had been there for him during his lowest. She was the company he needed when his heart was the loneliest. He couldnât even remember the amount of times she came to his aid when he was crying over his memories of you, memories that he could no longer hold onto. Akemi brought peace to his heart, and if there was anyone else he could be with, it would be her.Â
It was becoming more and more clear to him how he felt about her.Â
Although, voicing that out loud was a different story. Keeping it in his thoughts was for the best because he didnât want to lead Akemi on. She didnât deserve that nor did she deserve to feel like a substitute for someone else. He wanted to be a hundred percent sure about being with her before he could fully confess his real feelings for her. It could still develop through time, perhaps far better and more passionate than what he was sharing with her right now, but until then, settling for what they had at this moment in time was for the better. What was important was that both parties were clear about diving into this relationship.Â
He wasnât ready for commitment and she understood that. She was willing to wait for him. She was helping him move on in the least painful way. Where else could he meet such a person like her?Â
She was gentle, motherly, sensitive, and intuitive. She was classy and sophisticated. She knew how to dress nicely. Her nails were always clean and pretty. Her smile was very charming. Her laugh, endearing. She was the perfect woman anyone could have.Â
âWhyâd you suddenly want to go to the mall?â she asked, intertwining their hands together as she looked up at him with her beautiful doe eyes. Her question made him cut out of his trance, remembering that they were strolling around the galleria.Â
He touched the small wound on her cheek as if stroking it could make it heal faster. âNothing,â he said. âJust a last minute idea.â
Truthfully, Gojou wasnât sure why he had brought her there. All he knew was that he had a lot going on in his mind while he was driving through the city and the next thing he knew, he was already pulling up at the galleria out of his natural instinct. But since they were already there, he might as well buy her a little something. Anything. And then his eyes caught sight of Chanel as if the high-end boutique was pulling his feet with such gravity that it led him to go inside the store while hand-in-hand with the woman next to him.Â
âMr. Gojou, how are you?âÂ
Right. The staff knew him so well, especially for the amount of times he had been there with his ex-wife when you two were still married.Â
âAre you looking for anything specific?â One of the familiar ladies that used to assist you approached him with a lingering stare towards Akemi. âPerhaps for yourâŚ?â
He cleared his throat. âYeah, can you⌠uh,â he turned towards the rack of tweed sets, âDo you have any new collections?âÂ
âYes, absolutely,â said another lady, âRight this way, sir.âÂ
It was easy to notice how the staff were exchanging glances at the sight of Satoru and Akemi together, but his mind was far too distracted by the nostalgia of being in that place alone to even care about his surroundings. All he did was look back at Akemi and encourage her to try out the newest collections that they had, thinking that she was oblivious about what was going through his head. âYou go and pick whatever you like.âÂ
Although she was clearly not used to it, Akemi did eventually try on some of the outfits he specifically had chosen for her. They were Chanelâs signature tweed sets that he always found to be very elegant, and he definitely wasnât wrong that they would suit her when she came out of the dressing room to show him how the clothes wrapped her small frame perfectly.Â
He could see your smile through her face, your excitement when you tried the outfits on, and the shine in your eyes when you looked at yourself in the mirror. Except, Gojou had to remind himself that you werenât her. That his mind was just messing with him.Â
No, this was wrong. Why was he thinking about you while he was with her?Â
He had to have some sort of distraction. Something so tangible that all of his senses would go numb.Â
The one way he was able to overcome that dilemma was by sharing yet another steamy exchange with Akemi later that night. He couldnât remember who initiated first, but it must have been the equal desire that they had for each other when they dove straight into a heated makeout session the moment they stepped inside his bedroom. One thing led to another. First he was kissing her lips, then her collarbones, then her inner thighsâdevouring her completely with his lust-driven actions, doing the most by pleasuring her body using his own.Â
She was a giver just as she was a receiver. Not that he didnât expect her to be so experienced when it came to sex, but she definitely knew what she was doing without any guidance from him. Perhaps he just wasnât used to it anymore. Perhaps he had just forgotten how it felt to have sex with someone who didnât rely on him to initiate the next steps they should do. Fuck, he couldnât even remember the last time someone stared at his eyes while putting his hardened member inside her mouth the way she did. She knew her power over him while at his most vulnerable state, ruining his masculine ego and destroying it with her own feminine pride.Â
And in the midst of their intimate session, Gojou was zoning out while he was sliding a condom across his shaft, ready to enter her from the back. His mind was giving him a flash of memory, not a distant but recent one from two days ago.
âI still canât believe you did that, Mom. Youâre being ridiculous.âÂ
His mother wasnât exactly showing the slightest hint of regret on her face despite knowing full well that sending the custody claim almost made you lose your mind. She was keeping a straight face as she sat on the barstool next to him, taking a sip of wine from her glass while he, on his own, was downing a glass of scotch. âShe had it coming.â
Satoru sighed his frustration away. âDonât do that again or todayâs the last time youâll ever see me.âÂ
âWhat are you talking about?â His mother frowned. âWho was there for you when you were trying to end your own life because of the lies she told you, huh? Youâre feeling bad for her now, but did she feel bad for you back then? You missed three years of your sonâs life because she was being too spiteful towards you.âÂ
He had never met someone more stubborn than his own mother, but maybe this was a clear sign for Satoru to realize where he must have acquired that one similar trait of his. After all, people always made it seem that he was more like his dad even though he despised being compared to his father. To say that his mother was a complete angel was a lie. But neither was he. âWhatever, just donât⌠Just leave Y/N alone. Sheâs still the mother of my child and I donât want us to keep fighting. At least, for Sachiâs sake.âÂ
His mother finished her glass of wine before turning the stool towards his direction. There was a minute of silence that passed between them before she spoke again. âI just donât want you to get back with her, darling. You two are toxic together.âÂ
Funny, because he could say the same thing for her and his father. âWell, itâs not gonna happen now. Y/Nâs gonna hate me forever.âÂ
âWhat, âcause she rejected you again?âÂ
âNo,â he countered, shaking his head and chugging all the remaining liquor on his glass. âShe knows about the thing I have with Akemi now.âÂ
Her mouth fell open, gasping as she did so. âY-You⌠and Akemi? Are you together?âÂ
Satoru expected this reaction from her, but didnât think she would actually be more fixated on his new relationship than the effect it would bring on her ex-daughter-in-law. âItâs not something to be proud of, Mom.âÂ
âWell, Iâm proud of you,â she still stressed that fact, âItâs nice to hear that youâre finally moving on, Satoru. Y/N is not good for you, but I know Akemi will be. I like her and I know sheâll make you a lot happier than Y/N ever did.âÂ
âYouâre still awake?â Gojou let out a yawn as he felt the heaviness of his eyelids telling him that it was time to sleep. He tried checking the time on his phone, but realized that he still had the photo of you and Sachiro as his lockscreen. He wasnât planning on changing it anytime soon, but considering that Akemi saw it, he was expecting that she would have something to say, yet nothing came out of her mouth. She simply stayed silent while laying on his chest, letting him touch the slope of her naked back as she slightly raised her head to meet his eyes. He had already closed his phone and placed it back on the nightstand. âWhat, did I not tire you enough?âÂ
âShut up.â She hid her reddened cheeks and smiled on the crook of his neck. Her hand was placed on his chest, fingers tracing his collarbones. âNo, Iâm just thinking about how youâre gonna manage New York and all.âÂ
Satoruâs breathing was still for a few seconds, keeping his eyes glued on the ceiling as he held her on your marital bed. âYouâre scared that the infamous cheater is gonna cheat on you or something?â he joked, a distasteful one, but still meant to ease whatever was burdening her mind. âNot gonna happen even if weâre in an open relationship.âÂ
âThatâs not it,â Akemi quickly replied, denying his claims, âIâm more like hoping that youâll be patient with her. She gets angry a lot these days and we know weâre the main cause of it, so please. Please donât try to argue with her, okay? If she says hurtful things, learn to understand her.âÂ
He wrapped his arms tighter around her smaller frame. Gojou was certain that he was about to doze off soon now that he had closed his eyes and let the exhaustion pull him into a good nightâs sleep. âI wonât,â he spoke his words slowly, drifting off to dreamland, âI wonât make her angry.âÂ
âOkay.â He felt her lips kissing his jaw just before the both of them gradually matched the calmness of each otherâs chest. One heart, one soul, two bodies. âGood night, âToru.âÂ
âŚ
âŚ
âŚ
In the middle of his sleep, he mumbled, âGood night, Y/N.â
On the other side of the city, you woke up in the middle of your slumber, facing the handsome face of your fiancĂŠ, Toji Zenâin, who had already drifted off to dreamland while holding you in his muscular arms. No wonder people were jealous of you for having such a refined man like him in your bed every night you go to sleep. The thing was, you had no reason to feel discontented with your life since you already had everything. You were wealthier than the average person, you ran a business that you were passionate about, you had an adorable son who meant the world to you, and you had Toji. There was nothing else you could ask for. And if by remembering Seraâs words back then, you would be selfish to ask for anything more because others didnât even have half the fortune you had.Â
So, in that sense, you should be happy.Â
You had to be happy.Â
You were happy, right?Â
âGo to sleep,â whispered a half-awake Toji, stirring from his sleep as he held your waist tighter like you were his comfort pillow. âYou alright?âÂ
Sighing inwardly, you traced the scar on his lips. âYouâre so gorgeous.â
His lazy, boyish smile came into view. âI know that,â he joked, closing his eyes as if succumbing into a few more minutes of sleep. âDonât tell me youâre turned on right now âcause I can go all night. Doggy. Missionary. Cowboy. Reverse cowboy.âÂ
Were you? Maybe a little. And maybe you had to have a distraction from your âsource of happinessâ.Â
âThatâs very naughty of you, Mr. Zenâin,â you replied, cheeks heating up from his vulgar words. Your hand was finding its way to his toned chest, while his were traveling to the curves of your waist and hips. You could feel him angling his body to make sure he had access to slide your underwear just a little above your knee, gliding his hand along your thigh before letting his fingers touch your sensitive bud. âT-Tojiââ
A smirk appeared on his lips. âHm? I thought you wanted this?âÂ
You nodded, taking a deep breath. âY-Yeah, IâŚâ There was no use holding back from moaning because his fingers knew how to move perfectly well, playing with your clit in circular motions before sliding two of them into your entrance. â...Fuck.â
âFeel good?â His hot breath tickled your neck, moving his mouth from your collarbones down to the valley between your breasts. âWish you knew how delicious you are.âÂ
Another moan, much louder this time around, escaped your lips when he attached his mouth onto your breast, sucking the round mass with his tongue doing Godâs work. You were so high into sexual desire that your back arched on its own, dominated by the pleasing sensation all over your body. You could barely even respond to him when he started asking why your mood had been so down when he picked you up after work or why you still wouldnât tell him whatever happened back there.Â
âItâs nothing,â you replied, disregarding the painful encounter youâve had with your ex-husband and your best friend. â...Just work stuff.âÂ
As you closed your eyes, you could feel Satoruâs fingers entering deep inside of you, deep enough to have reached your g-spot and have you moaning wildly. It felt unreal. It felt goddamn out of this world. But since Satoru was familiar with every inch of your body, his touch alone could easily send you to seventh heaven. He was heavenly. He was saintly. That mesmerizing gaze of his paired with his sky blue eyes and messy white hair. His beautiful, beautiful face, watching you beg for him to do more. More. MoreâŚ
âSatoruâŚâ
The intense feeling suddenly stopped, awakening you back to your senses as you opened your eyes and saw the dark, animalistic gaze of Toji Zenâin. âWhatâd you say?â he asked in a deep voice.Â
Out of panic, you slightly pulled away and shook your head. âN-Nothing. What did I say?â
âI thought I heard you say hisâŚâ he trailed off, pulling his fingers out of you and instead, placing a tight grip on your hip. âDid you?âÂ
âNo, no. Not at all.â Your voice came in a hushed tone, looking at his eyes intently. âWhy would I do that?âÂ
He let out an exasperated sigh, falling back into the bed with one arm under his head. âDonât play games with me, Y/N.â
Desperation led you to climb on top of him, sitting on his crotch before encasing your lips with his soft ones. âIâm not,â you mumbled, kissing him again. âI never did. I promise.âÂ
Yet, despite your attempts at inviting him for an open-mouthed kiss, he had already lost the interest to engage in sexual activities with you. He didnât say anything nor tried to argue about the shit that you said, but he did stay silent for a couple of minutes, simply holding you on top of him without another word to utter. It scared you to think what was going through Tojiâs mind, but this was also all your fault. Why, in the first place, did you even let your mind imagine that white-haired toxic ex-husband of yours when you had Toji Zenâin in front you?Â
Perhaps in this relationship, you were the toxic one.Â
You were the poison that could kill the life out of the man who only wanted to love and heal you.Â
âToji, Iâm sorryâŚâÂ
He held his breath. âShould I be concerned that youâre going on a trip with him?âÂ
âNo, itâsâŚâ Pulling away, you gave him a look of combined sincerity and denial. âWeâre just gonna fix Sachiroâs papers, you know that. We wonât even be staying in the same room.âÂ
Fixing Sachiroâs papers. Dealing with his dual citizenship. Changing his last name to Gojou. Solidifying your sonâs identity as the son of Satoru Gojou. Thatâs all there is to it. All the technical matters.Â
âIs he staying at a hotel or are you letting him stay at your apartment in Manhattan?â he asked, although there was no hint of suspicion in his voice. Or at least, he must be good at hiding it.Â
You chose to be honest. âI have to let him stay at my apartment,â was your answer, leaning your head on his shoulder. âOnly because Sachi wants his dad around all the time. Weâre just trying our best to co-parent.âÂ
Tojiâs dry humor took over. âYou sure youâre not gonna let him fuck you senseless?â His tone was laced with resentment. âAnd then youâll come home to me crying about how he got you pregnant for the second time. Youâd better kiss our marriage goodbye if that happens.âÂ
âWhat kind of person do you think I am?â you retorted, annoyed by his word of choice as if you were a cheating scumbag. âIf heâs gonna get someone pregnant, that wonât be me.âÂ
His eyes sparked with curiosity. âWhat do you mean?âÂ
Deciding between telling and not telling, you figured that the latter would only cause more drama to bounce back at you like a boomerang. âHeâs with Akemi.âÂ
It looked like Toji didnât hear it right. âAkemi? Howâd that happen?âÂ
âI donât know what kinda relationship they have, okay?â you snapped, no longer wanting to keep up with this topic further. âI just caught them. They said theyâre seeing each other, but itâs complicated or whateverâI donât really give a damn. But heâs with her is all I know.âÂ
Toji went silent for a few minutes, unable to determine whether he should find the situation pitiful or humorous. One thing for sure though, was that he found it unbelievable. âThat son of a bitch,â he muttered under his breath, smiling in disbelief, âSo this is whatâs ruining your mood these days, huh?âÂ
Your eyebrows furrowed in response. âItâs not.âÂ
âYour ex-husband slept with your best friend. Yeah, Iâd be mad, too.â His comment wasnât really meant to irk you, but he successfully did so. Minus the intention. âGetting mad is understandable, getting jealous is questionable. Which one are you?âÂ
Fuck it. âI said Iâm not jealous. Will you stop now?â You sunk yourself under the covers, turning your back on Toji. âI donât wanna talk about it.âÂ
Now that he knew and you saw his reaction, you wondered what it would be like if Gen and Ian knew. Or if your dad knew. What would they think of Satoru? What would they think of Akemi? No, nevermind that. What would they think of you? Another fool in a deck of cards? Another game that was played with?Â
You didnât want to know.Â
Ideally, you and Satoru really shouldnât have gone to this New York trip together as if your family was still intact, because as much as you wished that that was true, you were far from that. You were only playing house for the sake of your son, but that also meant putting you in a painfully awkward situation together as ex-spouses. He had a girlfriend back home and you had a loving and loyal fiancĂŠ who proved the whole word that he was loyal to you. And although your respective partners were supporting the whole co-parenting situation, you knew by yourselves that this was nowhere to near to being comfortable for them, too.Â
âEverything okay?â You heard the familiar voice of your past, only to see his dull, blue eyes taking a peek at you.Â
âYeah,â you replied, almost inaudibly. You just boarded the plane while Satoru was talking to the pilot, and found your spot on one of the beds in his private jet. It took a few minutes for him to get to where you were now. âWhy?âÂ
He shrugged, eyeing a sleepy Sachiro next to you. âJust wanna make sure you and Sachi are comfortable.âÂ
You didnât know what else to say, so you just looked back at your peaceful son who was hugging his elmo plush like the cute angel he was. Even though he was growing so fast, you could still remember how he was just as small as a puppy in your arms when he was first born. The memory of it caused you to press your lips on his forehead, caressing his soft, white hair. At some point while observing the scene, your sonâs father thought it would be a good idea to slide the blanket further up your shoulders, acting as though he was only doing it to keep Sachiro warm. And later, he sat on the reclined airplane seat, drinking the coffee that was served to him by the stewardess.Â
It was crazy.Â
Crazy that Toji could be lying next to you and you would feel nothing. But Gojou was meters away from you and your mind was on a never-ending race.Â
Just before noon, the airplane landed safely at JFK airport and Satoruâs driver took you straight to Central Park Towers, treated like a V.I.P. by security just because your ex-husband was Japanâs third richest person and second most influential businessman. At times like these, you would almost forget the power Satoru held even before he was the chairman. You two were almost royalty. Now that he was leading the Gojou Group, his reputation only grew more despite the scandal of your broken marriage. He knew not to share his relationship publicly anymore nor did he expose Sachiro to any of his social media. It was a mutual decision for you to keep your son away from the spotlight knowing the scrutiny and the lack of privacy that would enter your lives once againâall the unnecessary noise, the unwanted comments, the unruly attention. Besides, for safety reasons, Sachiro had to be hidden from the public since he would become the sole heir to his fatherâs conglomerate, inheriting his parents combined assets that could one day make him the richest and most sought after bachelor in Japan.Â
âMamaaa!â A lively Sachi came running to you as soon as he entered the lobby of the apartment suites, his father following him behind.Â
âCareful, baby!â you said, standing at the lobby while talking to your housekeeper, âYou might trip.âÂ
Satoru decided to carry his son after noticing your worried expression and immediately walked towards you. He was all smiles as he looked at Sachiroâs cheerful blue eyes. âHe seems a little excited, isnât he?âÂ
âHe lived here for almost three years,â you answered, signaling a quick âthank youâ to your housekeeper before guiding your boys to the elevator. âHe mustâve missed the place. Did you, Sachi?â
âYes, mama~â
It was a little bittersweet for your ex-husband, though. Especially the moment he stepped inside the apartment, looking at every corner and realizing that it was the same place you had lived in back when he was suffering from emotional distress on the other side of the world. This apartment was where his own child grew up in and he had no idea he had even existen then. Not only did that make you a terrible ex-wife, but it also made you a heartless mother. You had separated them and now you were taking him to the place where you had his son hidden from him.Â
That wasnât your intention. That was never your intention.Â
âIâm glad you chose a nice place,â he complimented, acting as casual as possible. âDoes your father own this place or?â
âGen loaned it to me,â you said, holding Sachiroâs hand while letting Satoru follow you closely. You stopped at one of the guest rooms and urged the tall man to feel at home. âYou can stay here for the meantime.âÂ
âI donât wanna make things uncomfortable for Akemi.â He looked away, avoiding your eyes. âI can just stay at a hotelââÂ
âDada!â His mini-me tugged at his hand along with yours. You already knew that those puppy eyes would look back at the both of you. âSachi wants Dada to stay.â
Frankly, you werenât upset a while ago, but since he had to bring up Akemi and make it seem like her feelings were his priority, you lost all the will to be kind. Was their relationship that deep for him to act like such a loyal, righteous partner? Where was that same loyalty when he married you? âDo whatever.âÂ
Noticing the tension between his parents, Sachiroâs eyes started to well up with tears and that was all it took for you two to completely focus your attention back to your 3-year old.Â
âSachiâŚâ Satoru tried to reach for his son, but you (spitefully) beat him to it.Â
âItâs okay, my baby. Donât cry,â you comforted your son, picking him up and carrying him in your arms, âDaddy will still visit you every day even if he's staying at a hotel.âÂ
Satoru, as guilty as ever, shook his head and wiped his sonâs eyes. âNo. Iâll stay here for Sachi, okay? Donât cry anymore.âÂ
It felt like hours sitting on that enormous sofa, staring at the television screen even though your mind was miles away. You had already texted Toji good night and reassured him that everything was fine, but you still couldnât stop thinking about what he was doing back home. Sachiro had fallen asleep almost half an hour ago, and how you wished you could also enjoy your slumber while snuggling under those heated blankets, but how could you? How could you be comfortable in the presence of an ex-husband who was coming out of his room, freshly showered in his low-waisted sweatpants and tight-fitting black shirt? Not to mention how he was obviously flexing his arms while drying his mop of messy, white hair with a towel. Ridiculous. A little seductive, but definitely ridiculous.Â
âStill up?â His sky blue eyes met yours as soon as he looked up.Â
You adjusted your position on the sofa and leaned on the corner, pulling a small cushion to place above your thighs. âCanât sleep.âÂ
And the night went on just like that. You, sitting on the couch. Him, sitting on the other end as if going near you might suffocate him. It didnât help that the silence was beginning to be too uncomfortable. You couldnât tell what he was thinking of. Perhaps Akemi? Perhaps you? You doubted the latter.Â
âI thinkâŚâ You cleared your throat to escape from the awkward tension. âI think Iâm gonna go for a night swim. You can go to sleep next to Sachi tonight, just make sure not to wake him up.âÂ
Satoruâs curious gaze trailed on you as you got up and tightened your robe. âItâs a little too late at night to go for a swim, no?âÂ
You couldnât even face him as you responded. âI need to clear my mind off some things.â And by things, you meant him and this whole mess of a situation that you had put yourselves together. Two divorcees staying in the same living space wasnât exactly a brilliant idea to begin with.
âWant me to join you?â asked Satoru, and he himself could not believe he asked that question. He may have asked it out of his innate care for you, probably worried for no damn reason. What he didnât realize was how wrong his suggestion was, especially that you two were dating other people now.Â
If only you were such a cruel person, how ironic would it be if you allowed Satoru Gojou to join you for a quick night swim?Â
How ironic would it be for you to feel each otherâs warmth under the crystal pool, getting carried away by the romantic lights that lit the city?Â
How ironic would it be if the intense sexual tension ended with you doing things under the sheets, completely disregarding the fact that the both of you had respective partners who were overthinking this exact NYC trip?
How ironic would it be if, for once in your life, you became the cheater?Â
Thankfully, you didnât have the mindset of a cheating person.Â
However, it was Satoru who took back his initial offer. âNever mind. Forget I even asked that,â he muttered, sounding annoyed more so to himself rather than at you.Â
You offered a nonchalant shrug. âOkay.âÂ
And as you were heading to the poolside, you could sense Gojouâs presence behind even though he just very clearly rejected the idea of going on a swim with you. He was still the same confusing man that you married before. Only now, he was ten times worse. âWait, Y/N.â
âWhat?â You turned around, annoyed at his push-and-pull behavior. At this point, you didnât really care what he was thinking of anymore. All you did was to take off your robe, leaving yourself with only your underwear on before you slowly got down on the pool.Â
Gojou, on the other hand, was ridding himself of his shirt and sweatpants to join you in the pool with just his boxers on. What even was this situation? You two had that same question in your head despite swimming at the edge of the pool to stare at the cityscape. âI only asked to join you because I wanted to talk. Thatâs all.âÂ
You wanted to laugh at how he was clearing his intentions to you.Â
âWhy do you sound defensive around me?â He couldnât see it, but you were rolling your eyes as you leaned against the pool coping. âI never knew Akemi would be the jealous type.âÂ
Satoru looked surprised by your claim, seeming as though he didnât recognize the kind of person you were anymore. You were never this unreasonably sarcastic nor acidic with your words during your marriage even at the height of his affair with Sera, yet you had just become the worst version of yourself. âShe isnât,â he muttered, finding his spot next to you, âBut I donât wanna give her a reason to be.âÂ
You huffed. âDonât get ahead of yourself. You make it sound like Iâm gonna make a move on you or something.âÂ
âI never said that.âÂ
âYou were thinking about it.âÂ
âSays who?âÂ
What is it about Satoru Gojou that makes him so irritating? Was it the way he talks? The way he thinks heâs always right? The way he acts like heâs such a clean person?Â
âPlease,â you retorted, bitterly. âToji isnât comfortable having you around me, either. Just so you know.âÂ
âCan we justââ There. His last string of patience finally snapped and his true colors came to show when he grabbed your wrist and made you face him. The spiteful Satoru. He was back, even just for a second. âY/N, Iâm not trying to argue with you here. Iâm trying to talk to you like a civilized person. Youâre the mother of my child and I respect you. Iâd still care for you and will always protect you, but I want you to at least act like a fucking person around me. Youâre a grown woman.âÂ
Wasnât it bad that he, of all people, was basically telling you to grow up? Memories of your marriage and all the back-and-forth arguments that you had with him flashed before your eyes. He should be the last one to say such a thing. âYouâre the one whoâs been crossing the fucking line with me since day one, Gojou. Donât tell me toââ
âAnd do you wish I had just killed myself for you to forgive me?!â The ridges of his neck became prominent, making his anger much visible now. He was staring down at you intensely, backing you against the edge of the pool, trapping you in between his arms. âIâd have probably done that. But youâŚYou did unforgivable things to me and look how easy it was for me to forgive you.âÂ
You looked away, not trying to have this conversation again. Not trying to have your guilt eat your heart out. Maybe your behavior really had become too much and it was about time you take a step back and realize how ridiculous you had been acting because no way was this man trying to make a better point than you.Â
âI slept with Akemi, I know. Sheâs your best friend, I fucking know. But I never did that to get back at you,â his voice bore so much authority in them. âI begged on my knees just to be with you again. Swallowed my pride just for you to be my wife again!â His breathing became ragged. âBut you chose to move on. You said you love Toji. You said youâd be happier without me, so why donât I deserve to be happy without you?âÂ
The inability to speak wasnât because you were at a loss of words. The problem was choosing the right ones. Words that wouldnât put you in a disadvantageous position. Words that wouldnât make you look like an unreasonable person.Â
âYou wished me well when you first found out about Akemi and I. You said you donât care who I choose to date even if that choice is her,â he said, much calmer this time. He was placing his forehead against yours, body pressed against each other. âIf that was true, then why are you still so angry with me?âÂ
Your heart raced as you locked eyes with him. His eyes were the same kind of blue that reflected off of the surface of the pool. Anyone could easily get lost in it, but you knew where to place yourself in order not to. âIâm⌠not angryâŚâÂ
âBaby, you and I both know thatâs not true,â he said with a serious gaze, lifting your chin with his hand.Â
But you swatted it away, averting your eyes. âDonât call me baby. Youâre being ridiculous.âÂ
With a loud sigh, Gojou gave up and simply placed his forehead on your shoulder, letting you feel the weight of his head and the warmth of his breath. âIf you were still my wife, Iâd have kissed you right now,â he declared, breathing heavily as if stopping with all of his will to do what he just said. âIâd touch every inch of you, tell you how much I love you, carry you back into that room, and make more beautiful babies with youâŚâÂ
âSatoru,â you warned just as he pulled away, smiling despite the sorrow in his eyes.Â
ââŚBut I wonât do that. Iâm not gonna do that,â he claimed and sounded like he was convincing himself rather than clearing it up. âAkemi doesnât deserve a partner who canât move on from his ex-wife, so Iâm doing my best to forget about you.âÂ
Your breathing took a halt. You werenât sure where those tiny pricks in your heart came from. Toji needed the same. He deserved a wife who wasnât pining for her ex-husband. Satoru was just being true.Â
âThen, forget about me,â you gave a barely audible reply.Â
Gojou pulled away and kept his distance now, showing that he was indeed trying to stick to his words. âI will.âÂ
Why did it hurt when it shouldnât have?Â
âGood.âÂ
He looked at you with eyes that carried a million emotions. But what was most visible was him seeing the light, probably realizing that he truly was doing the right thing and that he was proud of himself for being able to resist you. Because then, that only meant he was only a few steps away from the path of moving on. That if he could let you go, then he could live a better life.Â
It only made sense why he pulled that little stunt back thereâbeing close enough to you was probably his way of differentiating how his body reacted to you versus how it reacted to Akemi. And now that he was able to determine whatever difference that might be, it would be easier for him to know what exactly to avoid.Â
After all, you two would be spending the rest of your lives as a present mom and dad to Sachiro. Co-parenting was your only connection and the only way to make that work without falling for each other was to rid yourselves of any kind of attraction towards one another.Â
Good for him.Â
âLetâs be good parents, Y/N.â Satoru looked at you from across the pool. âLetâs set a good example for Sachi and show that divorced parents can still be good parents. Letâs not be toxic to each other, especially not in front of him.â His words were coming from his personal experience and as you knew the whole history behind the mess within his family, you were truthfully considerate of his words. His traumatic experiences were what shaped him to become the problematic man you once married, and he was doing his best not to let his own son be the same. âIâll provide Sachiro with everything he needs and Iâll always be present in his life, so please let me have as much time with him as possible. Iâm making up for the three years I lost with him.âÂ
You nodded. âI donât have a problem with that.Â
As the established relationship you had with Gojou became more professional and strictly transactional, the distance between you two also grew more and more. There was no longer any space for love and intimacy. There was only familiarity and acquaintanceship.Â
âGo to sleep soon,â he said without sending another glance your way, climbing out of the pool and reaching for his clothes, âWe have a long day tomorrow.âÂ

Dear Followers,
This is a PSA. Hikaru no Go (2020) is now available to stream on Prime Video. You should watch it.
But Caity, you may ask. Why should I watch this Chinese live action drama based on the popular turn-of-the-millenium Japanese manga and anime of the same name? The answer, my friends, is because it is fucking phenomenal.
Hikaru no Go is my favorite sports anime. It was one of the first manga I ever read. When I own a home someday and have bookshelves, it is one of the only manga series I wish to own in its entirety in print. The story is deeply compelling, moving, funny, relatable. It truly has something I haven't found in another animanga in twenty years.
And the Chinese live action adaptation takes that perfect, beautiful source material and creates something equally perfect and beautiful (if not more so? feels blasphemous to say, but boy howdy I'm not NOT saying it).
The way in which the original Japanese storyâthe characters, the culture, the game of goâis translated into Chinese is really masterfully executed. The story is incredibly faithful to the original, and when it does differ, it does so in really creative, thoughtful ways that really work.
The actors fucking nail it. Honestly all of them, but I'm looking at the kids in the first two episodes in particular. Blown away by the performances of a couple of ten-year-olds. Kids have a bright future ahead of them, damn.
This show has the budget. If y'all know me at all, you know I'll enjoy a low-budget wuxia flick because it's a good time, but damn, if I had standards, they would be met and exceeded by this show. The hair, the makeup, the costumes, the effects (there is an effect every time the "ghost" is on screen where he is partially translucent. It is perfectly executed and incredibly impressive, at least to my layman eyes). The very first opening credits scene is super beautiful, the end credits are beautiful, it's all just so pretty and polished and feels good on my eye holes.
Honestly, I cannot gush enough about this show. It ranks up with Nirvana in Fire in my heart (which I do not say lightly, considering I went through my entire list and lowered the ratings I'd given each show accordingly after I first watched nif so that the 10 weighed more heavily).
tl;dr: If you liked the hikago animanga, you should watch this show. If you never read/watched hikago, you should watch this show. If you did not like hikago, you should watch this show. Please watch this show, I am begging you.
Sincerely, A Rabid Hikago Fangirl

Trans made TTRPGs
Due to⌠recent events that I would rather not talk about, today's post is a highlight of different tabletop games made by trans peeps! These games are fantastic in their own right, of course, but you can also know that they were made by incredibly cool and attractive people
(Also, these are flyover descs of the game, they'll get more in-depth singular posts later, this is because I am lazy)
Perfect Draw is a phenomenal card game TTRPG that was funded in less than a day on backerkit, it's incredibly fun and has simple to learn hard to master rules for creating custom cards, go check it out!
Songs for the dusk is fucking good, pardon my language, but it's a damn good post apocalyptic game about building community in a post-capitalist-post-apocalypse-post-whatever world. do yourself a favor and if you only check out one game in this list, check this one out, its a beautiful game.
Flying Circus is set in a WW1 inspired fantasy setting full of witches, weird eldritch fish people (who are chill as hell), cults, dead nobility, and other such things. It's inspired by Porco Rosso primarily but it has other touchstones.
Wanderhome is a game about being cute little guys going on a silly adventure and growing as the seasons change, its GMless and very fun
https://weregazelle.itch.io/armour-astir Armour Astir has been featured in here before but its so damn good I had to post it twice. AA demonstrates a fundamental knowledge of the themes of mech shows in a way that very few other games show, its awesome
Kitchen Knightmares is⌠more of a LARP but its still really dang cool, its about being a knight serving people in a restaurant, its played using discord so its incredibly accessible
https://grimogre.itch.io/michtim Michtim is a game about being small critters protecting their forest from nasty people who wish to harm it, not via brutal violence (sadly) but via friendship and understanding (which is a good substitute to violence)
ok this technically doesn't count but I'm putting it here anyways cuz its like one of my favorite ttrpgs of all time TSL is a game about baring your heart and dueling away with people who you'll probably kiss 10 minutes later, its very very fanfic-ey and inspired by queer narratives. I put it here because its made by a team, and the expansion has a setting specifically meant to be a trans "allegory", so I'll say it counts, honestly just go check it out its good shit
https://willuhl.itch.io/mystic-lilies
Mystic Lillies is a game inspired by ZUN's Touhou Project about witches dueling powerful foes, each other, and themselves. Mystic Lillies features rapid character creation and a unique diceless form of rolling which instead uses a standard playing card deck.
https://preview.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/141424/nobilis-the-game-of-sovereign-powers-2002-edition I⌠want to do a more general overview on Jenna K as an important figure in indie RPG design, but for now just know that Nobilis is good
https://temporalhiccup.itch.io/apocalypse-keys Apocalypse Keys is a game inspired by Doom Patrol, Hellboy, X-men, and other comics about monstrousness being an allegory for disenfranchisement. Apocalypse Keys is also here because its published by Evilhat so its very cleaned up and fancy but I love how the second you check out the dev's other stuff you can tell they are a lot more experimental with their stuff, this is not a critique, it is in fact a compliment
Fellowship! I've posted about this game before, but it is again here. Fellowship has a fun concept that it uses very well mostly, its a game about defining your character's culture, and I think that's really really cool
Voidheart Symphony is a really cool game about psychic rebellion in a city that really does not like you, the more you discover for yourself the better
Panic at the Dojo is a phenomenal ttrpg based on what the Brazilian would call "Pancadaria", which basically means, fucking other's people shit up. Character Creation is incredibly open and free, meaning that many character concepts are available
Legacy 2e is a game about controlling an entire faction's choices across time, its very fun
remember to be kind to a trans person today! oh also don't even try to be transphobic in the reblogs or replies, you will be blocked so fast your head will spin

We've had recent disappointments with the endings to series. For me, Last Twilight, Only Friends, and 23.5 stand out. While I loved the Sign to the end, there was that unexplained Tharn getting his freedom from Chalothorn, which made the very ending not quite perfect. And while I loved Century of Love all the way through, I know some folks were disappointed at the ending.
What are some QLs that you consider to have really strong endings?
OOOO what a great question!
10 BLs With the Strongest Endings
Some BLs had better endings than the rest of the show deserved, and some were saved by the ending, while still others built up to a good ending throughout. So I suspect it kinda depends on ones definition of strong. But here are mine (you'll never guess what's at the top? but...) it's in no particular order
Seven Days - no but ACTUALLY think about it. That ending is truly phenomenal. It ties everything together, gives hope for their relationship without being cheesy AND is crazy romantic, plus it brings the narrative full circle. That ending shot, the direction, the plot, the characters, and the story ALL tied in a neat little bow. It ends by indicating that something is starting for them, something familiar it's just now they are together. Fabulous.
Light On Me - on the beach, the whole friendship group, the kiss that mirrors their couple habit of cheek squiging? Peak YA BL. It reminded me of Make it Right, and that's no bad thing... for me.
Our Dating Sim - domestic boyfriends and then the pan over to all their couple photos. So exactly them.
To My Star - yeah, the sex scene, but remember this was when we finally realized that JiWoo not only liked him all along but actually desired him all along. The tsundere character breaking open for us to see the soft underbelly. Suddenly, all of his behavior made sense in retrospect. They used the final ultra romantic sex scene as a CHARACTER REVEAL. Fucking genius.
Semantic Error - the BOYFRIENDS of it all, the harken back to both the anime and the manga (with that spank bank file), the teasing and then the breaking of the forth wall. It was multiple cheeky punches out to the audience in a tiny stinger of a scene. Not to mention it had a kind of BL "ending fairy" thing that connected to them both being idols. Perfectly executed.
Love For Love's Sake - back in beach territory but wow. I mean this show starts with an ending. And it takes a lot for me to believe in the happiness of a parable about death and self worth. They managed it with this show. But that ending was killer.
My Beautiful Man - the ending made me reassess everything about the show, the story, and the characters. The ending made me love the show. It changed my mind. It BLEW my mind. I might have kinda lost my mind. In real time.
Unknown - there were struggles with this show and not everyone enjoyed the ending but I totally flipping loved it. FINALLY. You can't tell me that "you don't even know what I dream of" line doens't live in your head rent free.
Unintentional Love Story - not the ending scene so much as the whole final episode, it's so good. It brings the story together, we get multiple big realizations, sad baby, learning that baby was abused too, defending baby, baby defending himself. RINGS!
The Eighth Sense - so much peak boyfriend after so much angst. The casual language play and teasing, the stealing of the drink, just everything, and also how very very college it all is.
10 Others I just LOVE
Be Loved In House: I Do - ultra pasteurized cheese fest
Laws of Attraction - THE CAPED WEDDING OUTFITS
About Youth - rainbow kiss cheese fest
Long Time No See - BLOOD COVERED KISSES
Restart After Come Back Home - the pan around lens flare kiss and everything it MEANS
Bad Buddy - It was so CLEVER
DNA Says Love You - the claiming and then the tussle at the cafe? Gorgeous. Adorable. No notes.
Oh! Boarding House - a family gathering while the dads are holding hands behind the couch, adorable
Where Your Eyes Linger - that damn glow up
Tinted With You - perhaps... poly?
Wow... so few Thai BL. I guess this is Korea's strength in the BL sphere? Also more Japan than I expected and outsized rep for Taiwan. (I actually could have stuck a few more from Taiwan on here but they just get SO CHEESY.)
(source)
dated mid August 2024, not responsible for great endings after that date

Sterek fic recs: ABO/Mpreg AU Edition
As per @oldefashioned's request, since this is for her, here you go. I tried to filter my bookmarks, so these are more about the plot than the smut. There's probably a lot of ABO without mpreg, but I hope some of these change your mind about it!!
1. Fire, Fury and Flame by IAmAVeronica
Stiles Stilinski was never going to be the omega who got knocked up right after high school, and then he's accidentally artificially inseminated with a stranger's sperm. Awesome. And the father of Stiles's baby just so happens to be Derek Hale. Half-feral, quite possibly a murderer, and pursued by a gleefully sadistic band of hunters who are only too eager to use Stiles and his baby to hit Derek right where it hurts. Joy.
Notes: this is Jane the Virgin if there were werewolves and abo. Itâs absolutely phenomenal. That's it, I have nothing else to say, 10/10. It's completed!
2. I don't know why, but I guess it has something to do with you by LunaCanisLupus_22
âYou smell like me,â the guy says, scowling as he crowds in and Stiles staggers back between the coats and finally hits the wall. âWhy do you smell like me?â He barely lets out a garbled sound as the blood rushes to his cheeks. âNo reason,â Stiles yelps, struggling to get his footing and grasping at a whirlwind of puffy fur. Or the one where Stiles goes thrift shopping and steals an alpha's shirt. And gets a lot more than he bargains for.
Notes: Stiles does something he's not supposed to. Derek is... confused. It ends up pretty okay. Also kind of an office au?? Anyways they're both dorks and I love them. It's completed, but you need to have an account to see this work.
3. Take Me Away From Here by Hedwig221b (also @hedwig221b here on tumblr!)
Derek Hale looked terrifying. With his broad frame and muscles, with his wild black hair and thick beard, with his eyes the color of blood and fangs of a killer. Despite his kindness and his apparent attraction to Stiles, he was still a stranger, a predator, a wolf. The thing is, Stiles would deal, but others might not. People found Lord Hale horrid, monstrous and unapproachable. If Stiles stood behind him, no one would touch him. Heâd be safe with the wolf. If not from him, then definitely from everyone else. And that was enough.
Notes: of course I had to rec at least one Hedwig abo fic, they're the best! Don't you worry, there's a lot more in this list. This is a historical au... sort of. If history had werewolves and omegas. Don't worry, it works out fine. The whole world building in itself is interesting, because it treates omegas like a different species. Derek, my beloved, always and forever obsessed with Stiles! It gets dark for a little while, but don't fret, all is okay in the world. It's completed!
4. Scent Left Unsaid by bleep0bleep
In a society where werewolves are second class, Deucslist is an alternative werewolf network (similar to Craigslist) where humans and werewolves offer (mostly sexual) services. Derek is a long-term client of an anonymous human omega whose scent is just perfect. He never expects to meet him, until it happens. Derek has slept with that faded red hooded sweatshirt every night since he got it in the mail. Itâs calming, that scent; itâs everything to him. So itâs strange now that Derek is smelling it wafting from the end of the subway car as it careens towards the L line, lights flickering on the passing platforms.
Notes: imagine meet cute, only Derek is too socially awkward to actually enact the necessary steps to make it a meet cute, and Stiles has to do it instead. Also using the good old trope of Stiles' scent being like cocaine to Derek. It's very wholesome, and it's completed.
5. Never a Hardship by Julibean19Â
âDerek, meet Stiles, your new bodyguard,â Talia says. Derek doesnât get up. Heâs frozen to his seat on the couch, staring at the man who will now be hounding his every step. âWhatâs a Stiles?â he asks dumbly, finally budging when his mother smacks him on the shoulder. âThatâs Chief Stiles to you,â his mother says, scolding him. Derek huffs in annoyance, wondering how this could possibly get worse. âSenior Chief Stilinski is a Navy SEAL, Special Operations Forces, and has been handpicked by me, out of several hundred options. You will treat him with respect and do what he says.â âIâm a grown man, Madam President,â Derek says through clenched teeth. âYou canât expect me to listen to this guy. I donât know anything about him."
Notes: I love First Family aus! And Omega First Son!Derek with Alpha Bodyguard!Stiles is just delightful. There's a lot of omega politics, and Stiles gets to be a total badass when he and Derek are not pining after each other. Also, Chris Argent, surprisingly, is the best. I don't know what else to say without spoiling everything, so just know this is amazing! It's completed.
6. A Sheep In Wolf's Clothing by dumpac
"What the fuck, Stiles, what the fuck?!" "No, no, you don't understand, Scotty, this is the best idea ever!" "Because you think registering as a fucking alpha to college when you're actually an omega is the best idea ever? It's not even a good idea!" Or : Being an omega, Stiles has few chances to be accepted in the college of his dreams. Registering as an alpha seems like a good idea... until his new roommate, hot-as-the-sun alpha Derek Hale, comes in the equation.
Notes: I know I say this a lot but this fic is SO GOOD!! Stiles pretends to be an alpha and IT WORKS because he's a badass, only things go a little bit sideways because he's not an alpha and Derek... well Derek has no idea. My poor man is confused. Also has a dash of good old discrimination against omegas and nepotism. One of my favorite abo AND college au fics. It's completed.
7. Untouchable by Hedwig221b
The day Stiles Stilinski entered the Berkeley campus was the day all the alphas went absolutely fucking nuts. See, omegas were rare, even more than redheads. Got to be extremely fucking lucky to even see one in a lifetime. They were supposed to be these ethereal creatures of beauty and elegance, irresistible and blinding. And Stiles Stilinski was exactly that.
Notes: another Hedwig fic hehe. This one makes me go feral EVERY TIME. Literally one of my favorite fics to ever exist, I think I've read it three times in the last month and a half alone. If you're looking for unhinged sterek with absolutely besotted Derek, and pretty omega Stiles who has only eyes for him, this is the fic for you. They are literally so great!! 10/10, please please please go read this. It's completed.
8. You Smell Like Mine by bleep0bleep, marguerite_26Â
People talk about the alpha instinct, an alpha's head being swayed by a nice-smelling omega, or the desire to drop everything and show off. Derek's never felt any of that. He's just not that kind of alpha. Then he meets Stiles.
Notes: I love Derek in this, he's trying SO HARD to remain nonchalant over Stiles, but he never stood a chance. One whiff of Stiles' scent and he was a goner, pathetically entranced. Good thing Stiles wants him back hehe. A sprinkle of Enemies to Lovers (and really, can we say it's sterek if it doesn't have enemies to lovers who are inexplicably drawn to each other despite their best efforts to appear indifferent?). It's completed.
9. His Only Defence by LunaCanisLupus_22
Stiles had just accidentally challenged an alpha. Oh God, and Scott had just stood by and let him do it. He was the worst best friend ever. Stiles was going to kill him. Except, oh right, the alpha was going to kill him first. Like beyond dead, ripped into tiny little pieces dead. So far dead that his dad would not be able to identify him, dead.
Notes: I honestly don't know how to explain this one. It's a modern au, only archaic abo rules exist and Stiles and Derek... well, Stiles is Stiles and Derek is Derek. They work it out. It's completed, but you need to have an account to read this work.
10. cheer up, babe by graveltotempo, SpringlockedSpectre
He was the basketball captain. And he was a cheerleader. Can I make it any more clear? OR: Derek Hale thought he had his crush on Stiles Stilinski under control. And then Stiles decided to show up to school in a skirt.
Notes: Derek is pining and makes a fool of himself all the time in front of Stiles. Stiles, thankfully for Derek, finds it charming. That's it, that's the fic. It's completed. I also recommend checking up graveltotempo's other works, they're great!
11. Love's Violent Delights by Dexterous_Sinistrous
Derek caught the way the manâs eyes looked over Stiles before lingering on his ass. He waited for the clerk to place the key on the counter before he reacted. Stiles startled at the loud noise, turning away from the pamphlets in the display box to see Derek pinning the clerkâs head against the counter. He drew in an even breath, looking between the struggling man and Derek. Derek briefly looked at Stiles, hesitating before he saw the gleam of excitement in Stilesâ eyes and the hint of lust in his scent. âEver look at him, or any other Omega, like that again, and Iâll slice your eyes out with my claws.â He shoved the man back, not caring of the commotion that was made as he snatched up the key from the counter.
Notes: this makes me go feralllll it's so good. The Sheriff is imprisoned for what basically amounts to bullshit charges, and he and Derek share a cell. When Derek is freed, he looks for Stiles to make good on his promise to the Sheriff to take care of him. Somehow, they end up running from the law lol, my little criminal babies. Their relationship here is so uuuuuuughhhhh so wonderful! There's also critics to the system and talk about abo politics. It's completed.
12. Side Character by Hedwig221b
He shouldâve kept his mouth shut. He shouldâve smiled like always. Now everything was ruined, crushed, destroyed. Dust, shards, and the remnants of his pride. Love that no one needed. Derekâs gaze scalded the side of his face but Stiles refused to meet it. He had already revealed too much.
Notes: Hedwig, as always, writes such good stories! Seriously one of my favorite sterek writers! Stiles is oblivious and pining, Derek is also oblivious and pining, only in a completely different manner. They still end up together because they are meant to be in EVERY UNIVERSE. This doesn't have the traditional Alpha/Omega pairing, since Stiles is a Beta (really, the root of all this issue in the first place) He is very insecure in this one, but Derek is here for him. It's completed.
13. Made Your Mark on Me (A Golden Tattoo) by writteninthewolfstar
Beacon Hills High and Lycan Heights High are well-known enemies. Derek Hale, Lycan Heights' star quarter-back, is well-known for being aggressive and arrogant. Imagine Stiles surprise when he discovers that Derek Hale is actually his soul-mate.
Notes: this is a very sweet one. Pretty light hearted, especially compared to canon. The bullying does get a little intense at some points, though, so if that's triggering proceed with caution. Jock Derek, my beloved. Stiles is a loner, and also very insecure on this one! But Derek is an absolute sweetheart and a real champ, so love conquers all. Has some Bad Friend Scott, too, so if that's something you're interested in, this is your fic. It's completed.
14. We Gotta Hide What We're Doin' by CharWright5
As a Bodyguard within the Stilinski Rodzina, Derek's one and only job is to watch over the Omega sonâand only childâof the Family's Head, Stiles, a task that is easier said than done some nights. It's just good that the Alpha knows the best way to punish the little troublemaker when his bratty behavior threatens to expose a secret that could get the Bodyguard killed.
Notes: this one has a lot of smut, and the premise is absolutely killer. I'm actually very sad it's not 200k words long, but what can you do? Stiles is the heir to a Mafia Empire, and Derek an enforcer and Stiles' personal bodyguard since he was young. Stiles is a spoiled brat here, but Derek likes that hehe. It's also a secret relationship. It's kiiiiind of dark, since this is a mafia au, but nothing too terrible. To be honest the most explicit part is the smut. It's completed.
15. Survival of the Species by Lissadiane
âI think Iâm dying.â Nothing makes sense â and now Derek has left him. âNo, Mr. Stilinski,â Deaton says grimly, rooting around in his special cupboard of herbs and remedies. âIâm afraid not. Youâre merely suffering from a biological imperative to bear your alphaâs children and strengthen the pack.â Stiles considers that for a moment, as best he can with his mind a hazy mess, and then he says quietly, âI think that might be worse.â âSo, so much worse,â Scott agrees. * In which Derek's pack is apparently stable enough to begin planning for the future, and somehow, the universe has decided Stiles is the perfect candidate to bear his alpha's children.
Notes: honestly?? One of the best fics I've read about mpreg, not just in the Teen Wolf, but in general. It keeps things real, everyone is the appropriate amount of freaked out, for a while no one is having a good time, and there's enough to hint at body horror that my angst thirst is satisfied. Don't worry though, everything's fine! And there's no actual body horror, Stiles just has a very wild imagination. There's also not actual mpreg either, it's just discussed. It's complete.
16. before the world catches up by negativelyme
Stiles is a beta, so heâs never been a part of the annual Winter Mating Rituals that take over his high school. Or so he thinks.
Notes: this one is so wholesome! Derek truly is trying his very best, you can do it, Derek! Stiles' I'm-a-Beta-no-one-wants-me issues are getting in the way of true love. All ends well. It's completed.
17. All You Ever Needed to Know About Knotting by orphan_account
Derek had started reading the column by accident. Really, reading strangersâ questions about knotting and heat had never really appealed to him. However, at that point in time, he was a little desperate. And he was right: most of the questions submitted by anonymous readers didnât appeal to him. The answers, though, did. (Or: In which Stiles writes an advice column about knotting and Derek is smitten. Also they're neighbors.)
Notes: it's pretty much what it says in the summary. Overall very wholesome, made me laugh. Derek is absolutely precious here. It's completed.
18. You Want Me Back by graveltotempo
Stiles and the Hale pack come back to Beacon Hills for a High School reunion.
Notes: classic 10 year reunion fic (or maybe it's not classic in this fandom?? Tbh, most of the reunion fics I've read are from KHR), Stiles comes back to BH married and with a child. He, Jackson and Isaac are the best of bests, and Derek is, of course, wonderful. Peter is also pretty great, even if he appears for like 5 seconds. Canon Divergent from season 3b, bad friend Lydia, bad friend Scott. There's an epic smackdown and the Hales are basically top dogs. It's completed.
19. Over the Moon by likeshipsonthesea
Stiles and Derek spend a night together, and Derek, thinking he's protecting Stiles, tells him it was a mistake. Stiles leaves Beacon Hills. He also leaves behind 6 letters to say goodbye to the pack. From his letters, the pack thinks he's killed himself. Meanwhile, Stiles is in NYC, living with Jackson, going to Columbia, oh, and he's pregnant.
Notes: Derek is an idiot, but his heart is in the right place. Misscomunication ensues, basically, and it escalates way too much. Jackson and Stiles' broship is literally the best thing ever, I love them!!!! We should have more fics with them being the best duo ever.
20. the Jurisdiction series by elisera
John is a pretty level-headed guy. He wasnât always, back during his own Sturm und Drang period, but he married a firecracker of a woman and got a kid with an affinity for trouble like he got payed for ending up in it, so someone had to level out or they wouldâve ended up living in a treehouse or Lapland doing god knows what. Anyway, getting a hold of his temper is one of Johnâs better life achievements. It makes him a good sheriff and it kept him from blowing his lid too badly those last two years when Stiles started acting out in a way that John had never seen before. But the temper is still there. Heâs reminded of it when he comes home on a random Saturday in March after spilling his milkshake all over his uniform shirt only to notice he didnât have a spare in the station and finds Stiles bend over the kitchen sink with hunched shoulders.
Notes: the first part of the series gets, admittedly, pretty violent. Everything after that is very wholesome though. The Sheriff is an absolute gem in this one! Also, the mpreg is a very important factor after the first part of the series, but the first part is mostly just sterek pining and the aforementioned violent events. I'd mind the tags. It's completed.
21. What To Expect When You're Expecting (A Litter of Sourwolf Puppies) by Brego_Mellon_Nin
The Sheriff sighs and plops down in a chair opposite his son. âStiles, Iâm going crazy here. We need to get you to a doctor. You sleep like youâre trying to get into the Guinness Book of World Records, and your eating habits are bizarre! You vomit around the clock and for some reason only the tea your mother used when she was pregnant will get your stomach to settle down for any length of time. Is there something you arenât telling me? Can werewolves get guys pregnant? Iâve noticed how you look at that Hale kid-â Stiles meeps and flails, sloshing tea down his front. Luckily itâs not scalding anymore, but still hot, so he jumps up and wrenches his shirt off. âGod, dad, no! Guys canât get pregnant, thatâs ridiculous, itâs like...â âLike werewolves being real?â his dad questions, deadpan.
Notes: a wonderful accidental pregnancy fic. I love the Sheriff on this one, he's so supportive and actually has a hold of every single braincell because he is just THAT great. Stiles is also lovely, and while Derek is missing for like the first third of the fic he's great, too. This are pretty fluffy all around! It's completed.
22. I Don't Blame You for Being You (but you can't blame me for hating it) by LadySlytherinÂ
Derek hits Stiles with his Camaro - 'Dammit, Stiles, it was an accident!'...'Why don't I believe you?' - and hilarity ensues.
Notes: do you know how there are fics that make you go 'I LOVE STEREK SO MUCH AAAAAAAAAAH'? Well, this is one of them. Derek hits Stiles with his car, Stiles ends with a broken leg, Derek gets to take care of him while he recovers as payment. Oh, and there's a fight about which pack Stiles actually belongs to, but that works itself out. It's pretty great. It's also completed.
23. Predators by Hedwig221b
He was born for this. Nature itself whispered into his ear where he should put his hands, how to twirl his tongue just right and when to bite. Stiles knew well enough that his saliva was currently working its magic on this unfortunate man, making him hungry, lustful, and insatiable. Soon, all his thoughts would be consumed by Stiles. And, just this once, Stiles would allow Derek to consume him.
Notes: to be honest, I thought I'd be putting this on another section, since this is a creature!Stiles fic (and it'll definitely go there when I make that fic rec list), but if it has mpreg then it has mpreg. This is actually one of my favorite fics ever!! I feel like I'm always saying this but it bears repeating, so: Hedwig always makes such great stories (as proven by the sheer amount of Hedwig fics I have in my rec lists lol). Stiles is so uuuuuugh in this one, I love him! And Derek! Oh lord, Derek makes me go feral here. Honestly, so good! It's completed, but do mind the tags because it gets... intense.
24. Disposition by Tulikettu
Stiles has an itch. A kinky, kinda dirty itch he needs to scratch. So why not go on the Internet and look for a complete stranger to scratch it? Derek needs a partner for his rut. What a coincidence.
Notes: alright so this last one really veers off track from the rest of this list. It's basically pure smut so if you're not into that, don't read it. It also doesn't actually have mpreg, it's just discussed (and barely as a subject, since in their current present it isn't possible). Also, the kinks are... well, they are. There are some pretty triggering stuff in here so please mind the tags before you read, because if it's in the tags, you will read it, in detail. Other than that, it's pretty great! Stiles and Derek are very obsessed with each other, as they should. It's completed!
And this is everything. I honestly surprised myself with the amount of fics that ended up here, I hadn't realized I'd read that many sterek fics with ABO and mpreg. I hope you like these, Shar! And of course, anyone else who bounds finding this, I hope you enjoy these too.

My Top 10 đťđ 'Multi-Chaptered' Fic Recs
(A continuation of my previous post. You can find info about my fic preferences and my top 10 'Series' fic recs here.)
1.) Somewhere down the line by kj_crwn
Complete (6/6). Rated E. POV: Lucifer. Genre: Canon Divergence. Notable Warnings: None.
Notes:
So, just like my #1 on my series recs, this fic has Lucifer and Alastor meeting in the living world first before canon takes place while Alastor is still a human, and then reuniting in Hell as the events of canon unfold. Absolutely my fav trope. It helps that the writing is absolutely gorgeous!!! This is such a comfort fic for me, could read it a million times over. It looks like the author considered making it a series but, at the time of making this rec list, it is a standalone fic.
2.) Even As A Shadow, Even As A Dream by @winterveritas
Complete (2/2). Rated E. POV: Lucifer. Genre: AU - Hell. Notable Warnings: None.
Notes:
Really, anything Winter touches is absolute gold, but this fic rocked me to my core. The way this author portrays Lucifer's grief during Alastor's absence, like. I've been reading fic a long, long time. It takes quite a bit to pull tears out of me, but I sobbed while reading this. Don't let that scare you away, this author is allergic to unhappy endings, but the gut punch of emotions, oh my god. Also, for those who love when extensions of the boys come into play, Alastor's shadow and Lucifer's snake have roles as well, and that is a huge headcanon of mine so it was delightful to see it in this. Writing is flawless, prose is gorgeous, dialogue is top-notch. Just agonizingly wonderful, beginning to end.
3.) Bedtime Rituals to Try out Before The Next Angelic War by @miribalis
Complete (8/8). Rated T+. POV: Lucifer. Genre: Canon Divergence/Post-Canon. Notable Warnings: None.
Notes: I, like many others, stumbled across this fic due to this beautiful fanart and god. This fic is SO INCREDIBLE. The dynamics between the boys are everything????? This is a QPR take on them, and it's beautiful? Just gorgeous in every way, from the writing to the characterizations and the non-sexual intimacy exploration. ALLLLL the love for this fic.
4.) Lucid Dreams of New Orleans by @radiaurapple
In-Progress (14/15). Rated T+. POV: Switches. Genre: Post-Canon. Notable Warnings: None.
Notes:
Wow. Just... It's hard to put into words the admiration I have for this author/fic. In such a popular fandom/ship, it can definitely be hard to find a unique take on said popular ship. However, this. THIS. This is one of the most original radioapple fics I've ever had the joy of reading. Beautiful imagery, STUNNING PREMISE, the emotions, the prose, THE RADIOAPPLE BOYS, everything about it is perfect.
5.) The Ruination of Lucifer by @syaunei
In-Progress (31/?). Rated E. POV: Alastor. Genre: Canon Divergence/Post-Canon. Notable Warnings: None.
Notes:
Not sure there are words in the English language to describe how fantastic this fic is. Everything I wanna say feels lacking. This fic has some of the most beautiful writing I've ever read. And it is such a delicious character study on Alastor, the inner workings of that man's mind is just insane. The way syaunei takes such a complex character apart, strand by strand, is truly phenomenal. I mentioned in my fic preferences disclaimer that I lean more towards top!Lucifer, but lemme tell you, this is top!Alastor DONE RIGHT.
6.) Something in Me Understood by @winterveritas
Complete (8/8). Rated E. POV: Alastor. Genre: AU - Human!Alastor/Devil!Lucifer. Notable Warnings: None.
Notes:
This was written for radioapple week 2024, and Winter spoiled us rotten with the frequency of updates for this one. Bookstore AU but make it sexy? XD I am trying to keep my gushing to a minimal, but really, all of Winter's fics are fantastic. This one also includes some beautiful art. AND AND AND intersex!Lucifer, which again... a weakness for me.
7.) Awake, Arise by iffervescent
Complete (14/14). Rated E. POV: Switches. Genre: Canon Divergence/Post-Canon. Notable Warnings: None.
Notes:
HOLY PLOT! As I mentioned in my previous post, I definitely prefer more romance vs heavy plot in my fanfics, but when a fic can balance them both as experty as this one HO BOY! It makes for truly a good time! đ Fantastic fic!
8.) Passing Ships by @selphhelp, @androidwiththeparanoid
In-Progress. (7/?). Rated E. POV: Alastor. Genre: AU - Human/Great Gatsby inspo. Notable Warnings: None.
Notes:
Please envision this gif of the man screaming "Let me tell you something! Let me tell you something!" as I ramble about this fic because its a fucking gem, and it is so so so criminally underrated. I know its niche, but I think people assume you need to know about The Great Gatsby to read/enjoy it. YOU DON'T. I'm telling you, I remember ZERO about that book, and this fic has been an absolute delight??? Yandere!Alastor??? Vox's One-Sided Psychosexual Obsession with Alastor??? Possessive Lucifer??? IT HAS IT ALL. And the writing and characterizations are superb!
9.) Strange Appetites by Gotllphi
In-Progress. (20/23). Rated E. POV: Alastor. Genre: AU - Human!Alastor/Devil!Lucifer. Notable Warnings: Extremely graphic depictions of violence.
Notes:
Ho boy. I... I DON'T KNOW WHAT SAY. *gestures vaguely*. ITS JUST GOOD? VERY GOOD?? but also, cannibalism, violence, Alastor being a golly ol' serial killer, consensual but not safe or sane bdsm, etc etc. Also plot galore!
10.) Born for Adversity by fourshadesofgreen
In-Progress. (2/3). Rated E. POV: Alastor. Genre: AU - Human!Alastor/Devil!Lucifer. Notable Warnings: None.
Notes:
This is a short one, but I love everything this author writes, and the ending scene of chap 2 has been living in my head rent-free since they posted it. Human!Alastor has fallen in love with the Devil and tries to summon him through his killings. Fantastic premise and writing.
â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸
I'll be doing one more rec list for oneshots! I'll post it in a few days. I hope you guys are enjoying the recs!
