Why studying abroad is better than studying in India
Studying abroad and studying in India each have their own advantages and disadvantages, and what is “better” depends on individual circumstances, preferences, and goals. Here are some key differences and advantages of studying abroad compared to studying in India:
1. International Exposure: – Studying abroad provides an opportunity to experience a different culture, language, and way of life, which can broaden your horizons and enhance your global perspective. – Exposure to a diverse international community can help you build a global network and develop intercultural skills that are increasingly valuable in a globalized world.
2. Quality of Education: – Some universities abroad, particularly in countries like the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia, are renowned for their high-quality education and research facilities. You may have access to cutting-edge resources and faculty. – While India has many prestigious educational institutions, the quality of education can vary significantly, and some students may find that studying abroad offers a more consistent standard of education.
3. Specialized Programs: – Many countries offer specialized programs and courses that may not be available in India. This is particularly important for fields like certain branches of engineering, technology, and specific sciences. – Students who have very specific career goals or academic interests may find that studying abroad allows them to pursue their studies more comprehensively.
4. Language Skills: – Studying in a non-English speaking country can provide an excellent opportunity to improve language skills. Learning a new language can be a valuable skill for both personal and professional development. – If you choose to study in an English-speaking country, you can enhance your proficiency in the global lingua franca.
5. Cultural Immersion: – Living in a foreign country allows you to immerse yourself in a different culture, which can be a transformative experience. You can gain a deeper understanding of the culture, history, and traditions of the host country. – This cultural immersion can lead to personal growth, increased tolerance, and a broader worldview.
6. Independence and Self-Reliance: – Studying abroad often requires students to become more self-reliant, responsible, and independent. You’ll have to navigate daily life in a foreign country, which can build valuable life skills. – This independence can be a great asset in your future career and personal life.
7. Career Opportunities: – Graduates with international exposure often have an advantage in the job market. Employers may value the diverse perspectives, adaptability, and global network that studying abroad can provide. – Some countries offer post-study work visas, which allow international students to gain work experience after completing their education.
However, it’s important to consider the potential drawbacks of studying abroad, such as higher costs, homesickness, and the challenges of adapting to a new environment. Additionally, the choice between studying abroad and studying in India depends on your financial situation, academic goals, personal preferences, and the specific programs and institutions you’re interested in.
Ultimately, the decision should be based on your individual circumstances and what aligns best with your long-term educational and career aspirations. It’s a decision that should be carefully considered and based on your own goals and priorities.

Are you sure? Jeju - Episode 4
The Pool
Honey's I'm back. Been to the edge of Australia, literally, and back.
Finally watched the episode, and oh boy, there is so much to break down, isn't there.
I won't lie, I've seen so much talk about EVERYTHING here on Tumblr and on X, and I really am joining this party super late. But I will be posting here for the fun of it, cause it's never enough, right? And also maybe I can bring some of the moments together, for points to be made, Idk. I just hope I can manage to get some posts done before the next episode drops, cause there is really so much to unravel here.
Out of everything that went down I thought I'd start with JM and JK's pool party fest.
They return from dinner, where they let Tae know he's a guest on THEIR show once again (and I mention this just because those two just don't stop reminding us and him of said fact, lol) and decide to go into the pool to cool down.
JK looked like he needed a bit of cooling down when JM was undressing next to him.
It was just the two of them, Tae not joining.
JK is in first and JM following, entering and moving towards JK with a LOOK on his face. A LOOK that had JK finding the need to remind JM that the pool wall was glass and see through.
There is no way under the sun that JM's intentions were pure at this moment.
NO WAY!!!
JK knew it.
You gotta be daft not to see it, especially with that man's reaction to JK's comment.
And it's funny, cause it's not like JM didn't see that glass pool wall before. It was just JK's need to remind him off it that makes it so much clearer he was up to no good, lol.
Did you notice how the footage cuts at that moment? I guess we are already used to these cuts, right? There are PLENTY of them in this episode as well. Don't get me started on the before shower, during shower and after shower that night, lol.
Right after that cut we go into Jikook playful mode.
We don't know just how much time they spent in that pool, but we got close to 4 minutes of it. Clearly they were there for some time, we got to see some highlights. The PG version of them playing around in the pool.
It amazes me every time when I see just how in sync those two are with each other. And we got to see it here as well. I mean, we saw it right through the episode. Remember in part 2 of my Jikook in bed (AYS CT) when I mentioned JK was just being with JM when he was just resting his head on JM's thigh? Well, I believe that word is so appropriate for this episode as well.
BEING
Just the two of them.
Even with Tae there with them, it was just them being with each other. With the mundane and everyday stuff.
It's the checking in on each other (for example when JK was getting excited over the food in the Japanese restaurant and JM checks in on him, or when he hits his fist on the table in the chicken restaurant and again, JM checking in on him, or JK just rubbing JM's thigh in the restaurant in episode 3 knowing he's not feeling the best).
It's the making joint decisions - what to eat, when to eat, what to do, when to go to sleep.
It's the calmness. Just calmness in their interactions.
It's them knowing what the other is feeling or meaning, at times without even speaking.
It's them playing around with each other when others don't even understand what's going on (Tae on the boat not getting their playfulness or sense of humor).
It's their constant hyping each other up or complimenting each other.
It's them finding solace in each other.
It's them cuddling watching the sunset.
It's them finding figures in the clouds and drawing them.
It's them hugging while snorkeling.
It's them seeking each other out while snorkeling, wanting to share the experience with the other, share the fun.
It's them sharing their solo music and choreo with each other before it comes out. Spending their time talking about each other's singing and dancing.
It's them being super flirty and talking with underlying innuendos through out their conversations.
It's them just BEING with each other.
I will most likely be writing much more about this, probably small posts with these special moments, but I just had to mention this here as well. Because this here, their time in the pool, was one of those moments as well.
They just click.
And it's so damn loud just how special they are with each other, how different they are with each other.
Saying that is not about diminishing what they have with the other members, because we all know just how close they are with each other, all 7 of them. They are bandmates, they are good friends, they love each other. But let's be realistic here, with all of that, the level of their friendships, the depth of their relationships with each and every one of the other members varies. it's just how it is. Real life, you know. And saying that JM and JK's connection is different and showing how it's different does not diminish from their connections with the others, it just highlights THEM.
And as such, I don't cower away from making these comparisons, because they are part of what screams that the two are a couple. There are things you do with your significant other you don't with your good friend. There are ways you behave with said significant other that you won't with your good friend. There are things you will allow your significant other do to you, do with you, that you won't allow with a good friend. It's the way you communicate with your significant other, things you say, things you don't say, things you don't need to say, tones you use, all of which you don't do with a friend, no matter how good of a friend they are. That's life. No reason to shy away from that just because there are some people that will take it the wrong way.
JM and JK in the pool was just that.
When you know you know.
They were playing games with each other.
Btw, I'm gonna say it even though you have all probably noticed this already, but JK, he doesn't push JM in that game. Not one time. And it reminds me of previous times they've done this.
youtube
More games.
then for Tae's benefit.
They were being playful with each other.
They were having fun with each other, just BEING.
Doing THEIR thing.
Jjust clicking.
Being absolutely the cutest EVER possible.
And they can't be Jikook without their signature "You are me I am you", right?
This whole sequence reminded me of the last time we got to catch their late night playfulness. You know, the whole mosquito net debacle, lol.
Only this time there was no alcohol involved and they fully aware of the cameras filming them, lol.
And before all those that happen to be lurking here waiting for me to say something to latch onto start celebrating "she said it", I say calm your farm, because NO SHE DID NOT. Them knowing the cameras are there and having fun TOGETHER, at times posing for the cameras, hence doing it for us to see, takes absolutely NOTHING from it being an authentic and spontaneous interaction.
I can't believe that I actually have to explain this.
Did I mention how many times those two reminded Tae and us that he's a guest on THEIR show?
"The guest is coming"...
"He must be bored and wanting attention"...
"He must be lonely..."
And this is for our benefit? Or their own, perhaps, lol.
"He's the guest... guests can comb their hair...guests should be pretty..."
And then the editors chime in as well.
I guess it was super important to drive this point right home just in case there were those that still didn't get it.
This show, it's JM and JK's. Period.
Tae = guest.
And he is sure going to be reminded of that by both of them throughout the trip. He is, and so are we.
And what about JK leaving the pool only to jump in again ("it's cold") to climb out again with JM?
Again, one of those "we do things together" of theirs.
All in all, the episode was friggin amazing. If there was anyone who for some reason (delusions, for one) thought that Tae being there with them will take away from us seeing just how JIKOOK those two were, or that JK would show his undying love for his husband and father of his children (🤮🤮) that sure was a hell of a rude awakening for them.
The interactions were as clear as day. And very telling. As per usual and as I had said in the past, if anything then JM is the axis with JK and Tae circling him, biding for his attention, JK knowing everything there is to know about JM while Tae needing to say just how much he knows JM. And if we're on the subject of Tae wanting to tell us just how much he knows JM, what we also got to see is just how much Tae and JK don't know about each other (Tae not knowing JK doesn't drink sweet drinks before eating or JK not knowing that Tae has been struggling with sleep lately), again, as a stark difference to JM and JK's abundance of it (JM knowing JK hadn't slept on the flight back prior to their trip, JM singing 3D).
I have so much more to say, but I'm going to stop right here, leave some more to talk about later.

On a Night Like Tonight (Alex Scott x reader)
Retirement. A word that had been playing on your mind for a the past 12 months. After Australia, Team GB went on to win gold in the Olympics and it left only one trophy missing from your cabinet. The World Cup.
2027, Brazil. It was the day that you gave the fans the thing you promised 4 years ago. You lead your team to their first World Cup star and did so by beating the United States on penalties.
Unlike last year Alex was pitch side with Fara eagerly waiting for you to come over and when you did she welcomed you like the champion you now were or at least she gave you the PG version given you were live on TV.
You were overcome with emotion as Alex held you in her arms. To the outside world the tears you were clearly shedding were that of happiness but between you and Alex you knew they were sad tears too.
The celebration awaiting you back in England was unlike anything you could have imagined. It put the euros one to shame. The whole country showed up to celebrate you and you made sure to savour every moment.
Each player had their turn on the microphone and the fans loved it but when it was your turn to speak the fans took one look at your face and went silent. You could hear a pin drop in Trafalgar Square.
“You all know I hate being a bench warmer and I don’t want to be one of those players the play long after their time is up. It has been my greatest honour being your captain for over ten years but it is time that I pass on the torch and hang the boots up”
It was announced the following day that England’s match against Germany at Wembley in one month’s time would be you final game in an England shirt. The match sold out in minutes and it set the perfect scene for your send off.
The days leading up to it was hectic, you barely had a second to yourself and most of all it was extremely overwhelming. You questioned if you had made the right decision. You were still playing world class football, why stop now? Your question was answered one night at St George’s Park. It was the night before your final game and the entire team could tell you were having an hard time. It’s the reason Sarina allowed Alex to stay in your room even though it was against the rules.
“I don’t think I can do it”
Alex looked up from where she was laying on your chest.
“Can’t or don’t want to?”
“Football is all I’ve ever known Al, I’m not sure I can give it up”
“You’re not retiring completely. In a week’s time you will be back at Cobham with Chelsea”
“I’m going to be home a lot more”
“You make it sound like a bad thing. Remember the reason that made you consider retiring in the first place?”
It was a night you remember well. You and Alex spent over an hour talking about the future and what it could look like. You got so caught up in the hypotheticals that reality became disappointing. It made you want to skip the next few years so that you could start the next chapter of your life, the one where being captain was no longer the highest responsibility you had.
You feel asleep that night dreaming of the future and when you woke up you were ready to say goodbye to the team that you loved so much.
It was a bitter sweet feeling as the final whistle was blown. The entire England team, both the players on the bench and on the pitch, came running to you. It that moment you felt loved and appreciated. It was a moment that you would remember for the rest of your life. As you take a lap around the field you try to take in as much as you can.
“You know you don’t have to retire” Leah appears by your side.
“It’s my time. I have loved playing for this team and every time I wear this badge it is a great honour but this is my final curtain call Leah, my swan song” You pull the blonde into your side and kiss the side of her head.
“Don’t be getting soft. Save that for Alex because we need to go do media” Truth is Leah didn’t want you to leave, she had told you this much but your mind was yet.
“I know but before that there’s something I need to do”
You pull Leah towards the middle of the pitch, away from the shouting fans, the centre circle becoming your own little bubble.
“I have been captain of this team for almost ten years. I have lead them to the highest highs and the lowest lows. It takes a lot from you when you wear this band but it can also reward in the best possible way. I have spoken with Sarina about who I want to be my successor and that person is you Leah”
With a heavy heart you take the armband off and pull it up Leah’s arm. You were passing the torch, this was a changing of the guard and you were doing it for the whole to see.
By the time you reach Alex and the BBC team you are on the very line fine between keeping it together and breaking completely.
The world now knew about the two of you but with a camera pointed straight at you, you felt the need to stay professional but Alex soon changed that.
“We’re not rolling. It’s playing her career highlights” one of the camera men tells Alex.
“Come here” The BBC presenter pulls you into her arms and for a brief moment you allow yourself to feel, feel everything that you have been bottling up since you woke up.
“It’s over. I’ve played my last game as a lioness” you could feel tears falling down your face and you were aware that there were multiple people watching the interaction but no longer had to strength to bottle up your emotions.
The same man who told you that the cameras were rolling informed you that they would be live in 5, then proceeded to count down using his fingers.
As a way of regaining control of your emotions and in attempt of staying together you move away from Alex and closer to Jill and Fara. As if knowing that you still weren’t ready to answer the unavoidable questions Leah takes charge of the interview and the presenters follow her lead. It is when she is asked a question only you can answer do you need to get involved.
“Jill asked what’s next for you?” Leah nudges you.
“I go back to Chelsea. As for the next international break, well I have no idea. Maybe go on holiday, what do you say Al, fancy the Maldives?”
“Sure, why not. Fara can cover for me”
“Seriously though Y/N. What’s next? When asked about retiring you said that you have given over 15 years to your country and that it’s time to prioritise your personal life. I think I remember you saying it’s what our dear Alex over here deserves”
Leah switches places with you when Alex is mentioned. Sensing that being next to your person may bring you more peace and encourage you to answer the question without making jokes.
“If the song is right then I believe I hear wedding bells” Jills says.
You wonder what song she is referring to and upon turning to Alex you see that she is also at loss.
“You know the song. The one about kissing in a tree. I won’t sing it seen as though we are live on air and I am a professional”
With Jill’s clue you know exactly the song she is talking about although you think you may have been in high school when you last heard it.
“Since when are you a professional?” You scoff. You refused to bite.
“I get what you’re saying. I believe it says first comes love”
“Check” Alex plays along.
Before Leah continues you turn to Alex. Your hand sat on the small of her back and unknowingly to the women around, you tap you ring finger which was missing a very important piece of jewellery. Alex leans into you with her head on your shoulder and tells you to go for it.
“Then comes marriage-“
“Check” you were proud to finally announce that you had in fact married Alex but up until this moment it was only your immediate families that knew.
The faces of your friends were priceless. In that moment you wish you had a camera to take a photo but then you remember you are on live TV. Oh god, you were live on the BBC. Not only had you told your friends about your nuptials, you had told the entire world.
“Shit”
“Y/N” Alex playfully slaps your arm “We are live”
“I am now aware of this Al”
“I would like to apologise for the language made by Y/N Y/L/N”
“Don’t you mean Y/N Scott?” Jill asks.
“No she does not” you say rather defensively “Alex took my name, she is Alex Y/L/N”
“How about we discuss the details of our marriage when we are not live on TV.” Alex tries to get the interview back on track which you are happy to do.
You then proceed to talk all things football. Jill recalls your first training session as a lioness, Fara tells her favourite Y/N Y/L/N stories, Leah brings you to tears once again when she tells you about how you showed her what is possible and Alex grins ear to ear when she explains all the ways that you have changed the game and how a lot of people have you to thank for how far the game has come.
Almost an hour later you are in one of the hospitality suites at Wembley. The news of you and Alex had spread to rest of the team and the party that was originally planned for your retirement has now turned into a retirement / wedding party.
It doesn’t take much for you to get overwhelmed, how could you not. You escape to one of the boxes near the suite, the cold air grounds you and the silence is welcoming. Looking out at the pitch you are filled with nostalgia as memories flood your mind, it’s as if a highlight reel is playing.
“People are asking where you are?”
You feel your body relax upon hearing your wife’s voice. It is one of the things you love most about her.
“You found me. Any chance I can persuade you to stay here with me for a moment?”
“I can think of a few things”
“Can one of them be a hug? I could really use one”
Alex’s eyebrows furrow. You were a cuddler, Alex learned this very early on in your relationship but there is something about you asking now and the way you did it. You sound so vulnerable.
Your wife doesn’t say anything, instead she opens her arms and you melt into her hold.
“You know a lot of people are in there waiting to celebrate you, with you. Yet you are out here alone or at least you were until I found you”
“I want to celebrate with you though and everyone keeps stopping me from doing that. They want Y/N the England captain or I guess now it’s former captain but I just want to be —“
“Y/N, my wife”
Her wife. It sounds cliche like something that would be said in a movie or a line in a book but you loved hearing her say that and even now as you both wear your rings, you couldn’t believe that she had agreed to marry you.
“Can we go home?”
Alex knew that you liked to party and it didn’t take much to persuade to celebrate something no matter how small. It wasn’t like you to leave early and Alex knew that you might be feeling more than you are letting on if you want to leave a party that was honouring your international career.
“I didn’t tell you this but Ella and Alessia have wrote a speech. They read it to me and you’ll want to hear it. If after that you still want to go home then we will, I promise”
You stayed for the speech and boy are you glad you did. It was one of the most heartfelt yet hilarious speeches you have heard. You did end up going home but not till hours later. After hearing your plea, Alex stayed by your side the entire night and her presence allowed you to relax and have fun. A chapter of the book you called life was over and the chapters that followed would go on to be some of your favourite because each and every one of them included you wife Alex Scott.

He wanted to walk up to her, ask her about her day, see how she's been, but whenever he did that she just answered him awkwardly and made up an excuse to walk away. Max would always look at him with pity, running after his twin to check on her. Charles couldn't believe it, but he actually preferred her insulting him to this attitude. They had an incredible night together two months ago and now she couldn't even look him in the eye. He was head over heels for her, he knew that he loved her and he felt how much she loved him when they were together. Still, she walked away. He was conflicted, a part of him wanted to give up, to give her space and try to move on, but another part of himself knew that giving up and letting her go would be the biggest regret of his life.
It was late at night, the paddock was empty and there were very few lights on. The cold breeze of Australia at night made him shiver. It was summer, but still the temperature went down a few degrees at night. Between the silence, he heard a faint melody, something barely noticeable that slipped under the back door of the Red Bull garage. He assumed it was probably her, going over her mistake over and over again. It was a human error, she never made those, but she was human after all, and it landed her P4. It wasn't a bad qualifying, but it was not front row, like the last 4 races. He was well aware that the reason she put so much pressure on herself was because of her father. It was no secret that Jos Verstappen would step over every limit, even legal, to punish his children when they didn't perform perfectly. He saw the bruises more than once, red cheeks, fingerprints on arms or wrists, tear-stained faces after Jos pulled them aside in the middle of a karting tournament and away from the public eye. No one ever did anything but everyone knew, that was probably why the twins were always so angry and violent to everyone, if everyone let them down, why should they offer anything but hate?
"Misschien leer je daardoor autorijden, waardeloze tijdverspilling" (Maybe that'll teach you how to drive a car, fucking worthless waste of time). Charles heard the scream, he didn't speak Dutch, but he recognized Jos voice, so whatever he said couldn't have been good. He tried the back door but it was locked, he started running to the other side to enter through the front door, but then he heard Jos open the back door and walk out, fuming. Charles walked back and went through it without thinking twice. He found her sitting on the floor, curled up against a wall, her hair covering her face. She was sobbing so hard her body started to shake. He ran to her, pulling her into his arms. She could feel it was him when his scent hit her nose, the same scent that she remembered every night, when she closed her eyes and went back to that moment when life was worth living.
"It's okay, mon amour, I've got you". He said as he pressed her against his chest. She had missed that feeling so much, the feeling of his heartbeat against her face. She relaxed into him. They heard the back door open again and they both looked up, ready for another punishment, but it wasn't Jos who walked in.
"zusje, alles goed met je?" (Sis, are you okay?). Max ran to his sister, pushing Charles away and instantly checking on his sister's face, the bruise on her lip already gaining color. "Thank you, Charles. I'll take it from here". He dismissed the monegasque quickly, but Charles wasn't having it, he stood there, frowning. "I said, go".
"The hell I'm going". That caught the twins' attention, so the Golden Boy knows how to curse. "I'm not going anywhere until I'm sure she's alright".
"That's my job". Max started, but Charles interrupted him.
"Because you're doing great at it, no? Look at her! Where were you?". He was angry, he knew that Max let it happen, it was too suspicious that he entered the garage just minutes after the beating happened. "You let this happen!"
"You don't know what you're talking about, so shut your fucking mouth". Max pushed him, a warning along the tone of his voice that things could escalate to something worse.
"Please, stop fighting". They didn't even know how they heard her, she whispered it so softly it was almost imperceptible. But as small as the request sounded, it still made them stop cold. She was so broken, so fragile, so vulnerable.
"We're going to the ER, and I don't want to hear anything else about this". They have never heard Charles speak so confidently in front of them. He helped Y/N off the floor and started guiding her towards the door, Max following close behind.
The drive to the hospital was awkward, the twins were curled up together on the passenger seat of Charles' Ferrari, whispering in dutch. Charles assumed that they were getting their stories straight, because that was what abused children did, plan and lie to protect their abuser. They were probably planning on how to explain that she fell or hit herself with a door. It was driving him insane, picturing Jos hurting her, the image made him tighten his grip on the steering wheel, his knuckles white. She was still tearing up between the whispering, and Max kept shushing her, running his fingers through her hair. Charles just couldn't understand how Max could let it happen, they were all almost 27, Max was old enough to stand up to his father. But he also couldn't understand how Y/N could forgive Max, he would feel so betrayed in her place. But there they were, hugging each other next to him, like their lives and sanities depended on it. It was years since he had ever seen them so human, so vulnerable. The night he spent with Y/N was the first time he actually saw her let her guard down, she let him in and it felt like a fever dream to him. Once they made it to the hospital, Y/N was sent to a box while Charles and Max stayed in the waiting room. The Dutch was notoriously nervous. He was uncomfortable, he felt exposed.
"I didn't let it happen". He said out of the blue, and Charles furrowed his brows and looked at him.
"Don't give me that bullshit, that you just casually walked in". The other man just sighed.
"I-". Max cut himself off, unsure if he should share the following information with Charles, but something inside he told him that he could trust the Golden Boy. "You're right, I let it happen". He could feel Charles tense up next to him. "It was better to let it happen than dealing with the alternative".
"What do you mean, Max?". Charles wanted to be angry but the look on Max's face softened him more than he expected it to.
"If we don't interfere with the punishment, he doesn't take off his belt". Max avoided his gaze, but he could see how blue of his eyes got shiner with tears. Max blinked them away, along with the memories of his childhood that still haunted him. "I never told you this".
"Okay". He agreed to keep the secret. But Charles needed to know why. "But Max, why haven't you confronted him? You're a fit guy, I'm sure that you are more than able to defend yourself". He sighed. "Y/N is incredibly strong too. I- I just don't get it. You guys don't have to keep him in your lives. You don't need him".
"He's my father, Charles".
"He's not a father. A father loves you, protects you and treats you with respect". His voice broke at the thought of his own father. "I know because that's the kind of father I had". He placed a hand on Max's shoulder, making the other look at him. "He's nothing more than a sperm donor. You both deserve better".
"You truly are good, Charles... and I mean that in the best way possible".
Two more weeks went by after that night. The twins were obviously avoiding him but he understood. He also noticed that Jos was not around anymore, he hoped that his chat with Max was enough to make the twins draw the limit. After that weekend they went to another race and then were free for summer break. He decided to spend it in Monaco, he wasn't feeling like partying because all he could think about was her and wonder how she was doing. His phone distracted him, a text from his best friend, Joris, popping up on the screen. "Regarde ça", read the text, along with a link address. What did his friend want him to check out? He opened the link, it was an article by Sky Sports.
"Jos Verstappen arrested: The Red Bull twins filed charges.
This afternoon, Jos Verstappen (former Formula 1 driver and father to the twins Y/N and Max Verstappen, current Red Bull Racing drivers and once and twice world champions respectively) was picked up from his penthouse by the Dutch police and arranged by night. The charges against him are "aggravated assault of an own child" and "causing several bodily harm to an own child". The report specifies that the charges were filed by the twins a week ago and their statements included specifics about domestic violence that could be dated from the twins' childhood to the present. The former driver could face up to 12 years of prison, a fine not exceeding 78,000 euros and a protective order was set in place."
Charles couldn't read more, the doorbell ringing through the air, startled him. He walked to the door to find Y/N on the other side. She had a pair of big sunglasses on, but the edge of black eye could be seen below them. Without exchanging a word, he let her into his apartment. She sat on the couch, her hands on her lap and her gaze down. Charles walked up to her and sat down by her side. They stayed in silence for a few minutes, he was afraid of asking, but he needed to know what happened. She broke the silence.
"I don't know if you know... but Max and I filed charges against our fath- against Jos". She was still not looking at him but he could tell by her shaky breath that she saw him nod his head at her. Since she didn't add anything else, he took her chin in his fingers softly and made her look at him. As carefully as he could, he removed the sunglasses, exposing the purple mark under her left eye and over her cheekbone. He suck in a short breath at the sight.
"Salopard". (Scumbag). He let out under his breath. "Mon cœur, what happened?" (My heart). She let a few tears drop and he whipped them away gently.
"He found out that we went to the hospital the other day. He was looking into our credit cards' movements, and he found the charge from the hospital. Got really mad. He-". But she cut herself off with a sob and he didn't need her to keep talking to know what happened. Instead, he pulled her to him and over his lap, hugging her close. She flinched, the still fresh marks of the belt on her lower back, and Charles softened his grip. He wanted to keep her there with him forever. She pulled away, their faces close and she could smell the mint on his breath.
"I love you". His eyes closed, the words murmured against her lips and that was all she needed to hear.
"Ik ook, Schat". (Me too, babe). He kissed her, like he did that night, with the same love, the same passion. Things heated up quickly, but unlike their first time, there was no urgency this time. He took his time with her, to love her like she deserved, to kiss every part of her body, to show her what love feels like. She chanted his name like a prayer and he knew that he could hear that for the rest of his life and never get tired. He never loved anyone like this and for once, she let herself admit that it was always him, always Charles, even when she denied it, even when she pushed him away, it was always him. No matter what, they would always fall there, in this moment, where nothing mattered but them. He was her good boy, the one that showed her that there was kindness out there, that the world could be a wonderful place, that life was worth living and that the hand against your cheek could be gentle and warm. There, in that couch, underneath him and safe in his arms, she saw herself happy, for the first time.
"Tu es l'amour de ma vie". (You are the love of my life). He whispered on her neck, then he landed a soft kiss under her ear. She closed her eyes, her hands going to his back to press him against her tighter.
"De mijne ook, Golden Boy". (Mine too).

Just found this. Apparently, the agents of the other Sonic voice actors are trying to get Ryan, Jason, and Roger to make a cameo appearance in the movie. It would be cool, but very unlikely to happen.
Video from MovieFan62 from Reddit.
Also, according to this schedule, Sonic 3 have been rated PG in Australia.

Summary: N7 graduation brings surprises & Diana Allers gets nosy
@anderfels
--
Diana Allers needed another big news story.
Since the war had ended, and with it her access to the Normandy and its crew, BattleSpace ratings had steadily declined and she needed something else to bring people back. “That and no one really wants to hear about rebuilding efforts again. Everyone wants to move on.” she thought while idly going over the footage from the medal ceremony. “But I should get a decent bump with Vega making N7. Him and Alenko always drew numbers, which is why I featured them so much.”
Bored, but wanting to finish scrubbing through the footage, she fast forwarded to when she was talking to Vega, Allers stopped at the part where she was asking about his personal life.
“Since you’ve been back on Earth, is there anyone special in your life?”
Allers made a face at her fake tone, she hadn’t even wanted to ask the question but her producers made her- saying that speculation on his personal life always tracked well. There had been rumors on the Normandy during the war that he’d been involved with someone, but she could never get anything solid to ask Vega about. Then he was spotted in Australia a few times while he was in N school but again, she couldn’t come up with anything solid to really run with. She was about to fast forward again when she paused, looking at how uneasy Vega looked.
“-haven’t had much time for personal relationships while focusing on N-school.” James vaguely answered, shifting slightly as he continued, “But there are a few people outside of the Normandy crew that I’ve kept in touch with and hopefully, I’ll be able to see them more now that I’ve completed N training.”
“Interesting.” Allers thought while jotting down the time code.

Articles that have helped me further understand the Palestinian genocide:
Somehow, I missed that Israel killed hundreds of people in the West Bank just 11 days before the October 7 attacks.
I also failed to look into Nakbar. 750 000 people were cleansed in 1948-49 to make way for Israel.
and a quote from Abu Ali I liked:
https://www.jstor.org/stable/48664822
Above, there is an essay analysing James Baldwin's changing stance on the Israeli occupation. It was mind-blowing and is a must read (as well as the other article by The Maple).
the following are quotes and ideas that stuck with me:
- pg 4 - "...there is a tremendous gap between a Jew from Russia or France or England or Australia and a Jew but lately arrived from the desert."
- pg13-14 "he saw Israel as a Western invention and a symbol of the West, a symbol of the colonial and imperial status quo. Palestine thus became its antithesis, representing the colonised peoples of the Third World."
- "And, of course, any real commitment to Black freedom in this country would have the effect of reordering all our priorities, and altering all our commitments, so that, for horrendous example, we would be support Black freedom fighters in South Africa and Angola, and would not be allied with Portugal, would be closer to Cuba than we are to Spain, would be supporting the Arab nations instead of Israel would never have felt compelled to follow the French into South-east Asia
- pg 15 "but the state of Israel was not created for the salvation of the Jews; it was created for the salvation of Western interests. this is what is becoming clear ... The Palestinians have been paying for the British colonial policy of "Divide and Rule" and for Europe's guilty Christian conscience for more than thirty years"
it's late. I'll fix the messiness of this post tmr lmao
edit: I said 750 000 Palestinians were killed. this is false. they were ethnically cleansed

Is the Xbox game worth $30 if it has the book inside?
So depending where you are yes and no, if you are in Europe or Australia? No, absolutely not. If you are in the U.S? Yes, but mostly from shipping costs.
The U.S. release of the Xbox game did not include a manual for some reason, while the U.K./ European version did.
So here you see the manual and the disc, it will have a pg rating and the number 12
On the back you'll see the distributor is Namco Bandai Games Europe
The American release will not have a manual and will be rated E on the disc.
The distributor will be D3Publisher of America
If you are ordering from overseas and shipping to America you can expect at least $15 for decent shipping for the game, so paying $15 for a game is really up to you, but if you live in Europe I suggest just looking around your local Vinted website or used game store.
On the average you shouldn't pay more than $10 for the game if the seller and disc is local unless it's unopened or unique. (Promo disc's are only worth slightly more, and no game is worth $100 in case you come across that specific listing)
I hope this helps!

Below the cut is a detailed FAQ for the zine. Please read before sending questions!
General Information
What is this zine about?
Along the Way is a charity zine celebrating the Linked Universe as a comic, a fandom, and a community. The overall theme will focus on the found family aspects of the chain and the friendships forged on their journey. Each of the 9 Linked Universe Links will have a section dedicated to them, which will include 1 short story and 3 pages of art.
Is the zine digital or physical?
Both! The zine will be produced as a digital PDF and as a physical book.
Will there be extra merch?
Yes! There will be a keychain, a bookmark, and 3 sticker designs available in addition to the zine.
What's the content rating for the zine?
The zine will be limited to a maximum content rating of Teen, or PG-13. The tone of the zine will be optimistic, so we won't be including any intense content.
Will the zine feature AUs or ships?
No, this zine will not feature any specific AUs or ships. Along the Way is focused on the friendships between the Links.
Regarding headcanons, we will be sticking as close to canon as we can. Widely-accepted fanon (i.e. Time and Warriors knowing each other from the War of Eras) can be acceptable, but is discouraged.
If you have a specific question about what is and isn't alright to include, ask the mods.
What's the production schedule?
You can find the full timeline, including contributor deadlines, here.
~~~
Finances and Charity Information
How much will the zine cost?
Right now, we are planning on making four bundles available--digital only ($0), physical zine only, merch only (3 stickers, 1 bookmark, 1 keychain), and full (physical zine + merch). Prices are still being figured out, but the current estimate is around $30-35 USD + S&H (calculated separately and varies based on location). The price will change depending on how many people order, and we aim to keep prices as low as possible!
After contributor sign-ups close, we plan on holding another interest check to more accurately gauge how many people are planning to order before pre-orders open. With that we should be able to make a more accurate price estimate.
What are the shipping costs?
Shipping within the US is estimated to be around $15 (though this is subject to change depending on weight and size).
The zine is based out of the United States, so the unfortunate reality is that shipping costs will increase with distance. We have plans to coordinate shipping to Europe and Australia, and potentially South America and Asia if there is enough demand. Details will be determined later on in the process.
How is the money being used?
Along the Way is a nonprofit charity zine. Money will first be used to cover the cost of creating and shipping the zine and associated merch, after which all additional proceeds will be donated to the AbleGamers Foundation.
What's the AbleGamers Foundation?
A charity focusing on "creating opportunities that enable play in order to combat social isolation, foster inclusive communities, and improve the quality of life for people with disabilities". They have won several awards for working with disabilities and give their own awards to games with accessible features. You can learn more about them on their website here!
~~~
Contributor Information
Who can contribute?
Writers and artists will comprise the majority of the zine, but cosplay and crafts are also welcome.
Contributors must be aged 18+.
How many contributors are there?
Each Link has been assigned one writer and two artists, for a total of 9 writers and 18 artists. We also have 5 merch artists (with a few of them doing page art as well!)
Will contributors be paid?
Since this is a nonprofit charity zine, contributors will not be paid. Depending on our budget, we may be able to offer free copies of the zine, or free merchandise. Details will be determined later.
Where do I apply?
As of 8/29, applications are now closed!
~~~
Communication
Communication with contributors will be handled using both a private Discord server and direct email.
Discord will be used for announcements and deadline reminders for contributors.
Official communications will be through our email, [email protected].
How can I contact the mods?
