How to Play the Ultimate Dark Mage in DnD 5e
With Halloween right around the corner, I thought I'd delve into an idea I don't see talked about very much: building the ultimate black mage in DnD. For this build, we're not trying to be the best necromancer, or the best damage dealer. What we want is to find the build that grants us the widest arsenal of as many dark magical powers as possible. In order to give the Sorcerer a fair chance, we're going to homebrew to grant the Sorcerer 25 spells known instead of 15, otherwise there's no chance the Sorcerer is going to win.
DARK MAGIC SPELL LIST

WIZARD Necromancy: 11 Necrotic Damage: 12 Shadow Magic: 4 Pestilence: 11 Fiendish Magic: 6 Eldritch Magic: 0 Curses & Evil: 6 Mind Games & Nightmares: 17 Total: 67
Not only does Wizard come out on top with an impressive 67 dark magic spells, it is the only class that can learn all 67 spells. The Warlock learns 15 spells and 4 Mystic Arcanum, plus a few more through Eldritch Invocations, Clerics prepare level + WIS so they'll never prepare more than 25, and we had to cheat to give the Divine Soul Sorcerer 25 spells, or else it only gets a measly 15 spells plus one spell based on the alignment of your divine bloodline. We're also cheating a little with the mind games and nightmares category as while mental manipulation is scary and evil, it isn't necessarily the stereotypical evil one invokes with a dark mage. Although Wizard is the clear winner, it's worth pointing out certain interesting data. The Undead Warlock is the master of Necromancy, with the Wizard close behind at 11, separated only by access to Death Ward. Warlock is also the master of Shadow Magic and Eldritch Magic, but that's kind of the Warlock's whole shtick. The Divine Soul Sorcerer is the master of Pestilence magic, making it a great fit for a Plague Doctor type character, as well as Curses & Evil magic, narrowly beating out the Fiend Warlock. The Wizard is the clear master of Mind Games & Nightmares, and the Wizard and Divine Soul Sorcerer are tied at using Necrotic Damage spells. Wizard and Warlock are evenly matched at wielding Fiendish Magic. While the Bard is pretty much restricted to curses and mind games, it is possible to build a bard that uses exclusively dark magic. They just won't be the greatest dark mage of all time. In terms of who wins the most categories, the Divine Soul Sorcerer wins Pestilence, Curses & Evil, and ties for Necrotic Damage. Without considering subclasses, however, Wizard wins Necromancy, Mind Games & Nightmares, and ties for both Fiendish Magic and Necrotic Damage.
THE BUILD
There are a few good choices for race when building the ultimate dark mage. The Fallen Aasimar's Necrotic Shroud feature adds proficiency bonus Necrotic damage to every attack while the necrotic shroud is active. They also get darkvision and resistance to both necrotic and radiant damage. The Dhampir not only gets dark vision, it lets you stop breathing and make vampiric bite attacks to regain hit points. Reborn are even harder to kill, with advantage against poison, and disease, resistance to poison damage, and advantage on death saves, on top of not needing to eat, drink, sleep, or breathe. But they don't get dark vision. And of course, the Custom Lineage can give your dark mage 60 ft of darkvision, and any feat, letting them take feats like Magic Initiate, Resilient (CON), Shadow-Touched, Eldritch Adept, and more. Ultimately, I feel that the Fallen Aasimar and Reborn are the strongest candidates as they are innately dark and creepy, whereas the Custom Lineage can be made dark and creepy. We'll treat this build as a Fallen Aasimar mostly because Reborns don't get darkvision and that is a pretty huge hindrance. Otherwise, we'd go with Reborn.
Haunted One is the darkest background possible and is also the default background of The Dark Urge in Baldur's Gate 3. We're going to ignore the background's options in order to take Intimidation to bully our way through the campaign and religion to study burials and undead. Since we know we're going Wizard, we'll also pick up arcana to study magic and medicine to study the body, blood, bones, organs, and everything else. However, if you want a sneakier dark mage, you could also go with Deception and Persuasion from our background to maintain a personable façade.
WIZARD SCHOOL OF NECROMANCY
Of course, necromancy is our subclass of choice. The power to raise a stronger horde of undead and it not being tied to specifically Animate Dead does make the Necromancy Wizard pretty useful. And the Command Undead feature really makes the mastery of dark magic vibe feel earned. There is a case to be made for Evocation. The Overchannel feature that sacrifices HP for damage is very dark mage. However, one feature stacked against an entire subclass of dark magic is no real contest. So, we'll go with the School of Necromancy.
The School of Necromancy also has a feature called Grim Harvest, which heals the Necromancer any time they kill an enemy with a spell, and more-so if it was a Necromancy spell. The spells Wither and Bloom, Vampiric Touch, and Enervation each damage the target with Necrotic damage, then heal the caster by half the damage dealt. These two healing factors can stack, making these very useful spells, and Wither and Bloom and Vampiric Touch can be chosen as Signature Spell and Spell Mastery, giving your necromancer an unlimited use of a way to regain hit points, even if it's rather low. It's more effective as a means to patch oneself up between fights, killing a few squirrels or birds to regain hit points for no cost. A 1 level dip into Life Domain can not only give the Wizard Heavy Armor proficiency and access to the Inflict Wounds spell, it can also further boost the self-healing gained from these three vampiric necromancy spells. Although False Life is on the Wizard spell list, the Eldritch Invocation Fiendish Vigor can give your Wizard a way to spam False Life between every encounter, making them just a little less squishy.

Like a Felon Knows the Law
tw: lice and "Mudblood"
During their fifth year, Hogwarts had a head lice problem. Nobody was sure if it started in Gryffindor or Hufflepuff first, but the Hufflepuff common room was a likely suspect, owing to the amount of upholstery.
"None of our concern," Draco had told Pansy, tucking a bite of toast with orange marmalade in his cheek. "It's never been an issue before. Muggle problem."
Pansy's hum was unconvinced.
The next day, Longbottom showed up to lunch with his hair buzzed short. That night, all the brushes, combs, and hats in the Slytherin boys' dormitory had disappeared, and the pillowcases smelled like sanitising spells.
Theo absently scratched the back of his head in befuddlement, and Draco's pristine life flashed before his eyes. It was dull, as far as flashbacks go.
He didn't sleep a wink that night, and spent it over-invested in every tickle of a hair near his ear, or his neck, or down the centre of his back. And so it was with utmost exhaustion, irritation, and suspicion that he greeted Granger in the morning.
"This is all your fault," he said, sneering down at her on their way out of the Great Hall. "Filthy Mudblood, bringing vermin into the castle."
She scoffed and rolled her eyes.
A haughty chuckle came from behind Draco. He turned to find Justin Finch-Fletchley, local Muggleborn aristocrat, smirking. He was insufferable, given that his upbringing mirrored Draco's, but the optics were better.
Justin brushed past him, throwing him off-step. "At least," Justin said snidely, "Mudbloods know how to get rid of lice." He cast Draco a backward glance. "Good luck hexing your way out of this, Malfoy."
Draco didn't sleep that night, either.
Five AM found him sitting on the edge of a very peeved, very bleary-eyed Theo's bed.
"The fuck you want me to do?" Theo mumbled. "Avada Kedavra your scalp like some William Tell shit?"
"Who?"
"Nevermind."
Draco watched Theo fall back asleep. Then nudged him. "Hey."
Theo snarled with his eyes still shut. "What?"
Draco sighed. "Nothing."
But it wasn't nothing, it was a big, fat something, because Justin wasn't wrong. Draco went home for the weekend, and his parents had never heard of head lice. He went so far ask to ask the portraits, and then the House Elves, who after much pestering and shaking of their bald heads, finally looked him square in the eye and said, "Why would Elves know of Muggle hair parasites?"
Draco shuddered at the word 'parasites' and hid in his bedroom until Sunday night.
When he arrived back at school, two of the Ravenclaw First Year boys had fresh haircuts, and he chose to interpret it as further evidence of pestilence.
He hid in the library. Only, it wasn't hiding if he had a stack of books next to him on the floor, below the window seat. He turned the spines against the wall so no one walking past would know that they were exclusively texts on invasive species, magical extermination, and livestock management.
Potter was the first one to stop and harass him.
"You look like you're waiting for your mum to come pick you up after school."
Draco obliquely understood him and chose to take offense. He thumbed through a promising few pages on woodlouse habitat preferences and wondered if his hair was at all similar to decomposing wood fibres.
"Potter, I'm surprised they even allow you inside the library after you-"
With the toe of his shoe, Potter nudged the pile of books away from the wall, then adjusted his glasses to read the titles. His eyebrows rose, then dimples formed on either side of his lips as he suppressed a grin.
"Doing some research, are we?" he asked. Draco sat, mortified, and said nothing. Potter's ire thawed around the edges, and he looked down with something near pity. "You're not likely to get lice, you know. Or, not likely to get them and not notice, I guess. It's-" he gestured to his own hair "It'd be really obvious if you got them, I mean. Because your hair's so light. And it's easier to find them in straight hair."
"Oh," was all Draco came up with, because it didn't solve the problem. He rallied the bit of piss and vinegar he had left. "I suppose you'd know, wouldn't you, Potter?"
It was supposed to be a thrown lance, but it landed like a desperately tossed lifeline.
"Yeah," Potter said gently. "I mean, I never got them, but we had lice checks at St Grogory's." He rested his bum against the window seat, his knee next to Draco's shoulder. "I could check your hair. You know. If you wanted me to. I guess me and Hermione are probably the only ones who really know how."
Draco's burgeoning phobia won out over his inborn prejudice, and he replied with nothing but a terse nod.
Harry sat on the window bench and, in what he perhaps thought was a brazen display of oblivious male heterosexuality, swung a leg on either side of Draco's body. Giddyup-no-homo.
Draco's shoulders did fit rather nicely between Harry's knees. They both silently regretted wearing their tightest trousers.
Unable to reach his wand in his back pocket, and not having a comb with him, Harry pulled a clean quill from his robe and parted Draco's hair just a centimetre off from where it already lay neatly.
Draco's arms ran with gooseflesh at the keen touch of the nib against his scalp. He sighed the second time Potter drew it through his hair. By the sixth time, Harry had him lay his temple against the inside of his thigh while he stroked through the hair behind Draco's ear.
Eventually, Draco dozed off, and Harry didn't admit that he'd seen every square millimetre of Draco's scalp thrice over. He let Draco sleep against his inner thigh while he read more than anyone needed to know about the mighty woodlouse. Crabs of the undergrowth. Majestic shrimp of the land.
Harry fell asleep with his hand cupping Draco's cheek and dreamt of Fraggle Rock, but it was a coral reef, and Draco was there.
Nothing was found that day in the library. Nothing tangible, anyway. But just to be sure, they kept checking.
Thirty years later, Harry hikes a leg over Draco and sits himself on the shabby floral sofa, in the front room where the telly blocks the bottom of the bay window. Harry watches MASH reruns while Draco watches the street lights come on. His hands sort through Draco's hair by feel.
It's not a surprise to find Draco sitting on the front room floor. His Wizengamot robes were hung in the hall too neatly for him to have had a good day.
Draco lays his head against Harry's inner thigh, and they both sigh. It's not every day they sit like this, but often enough.
Harry doesn't bother asking about Draco's day, because if there were anything Draco could do about it, he wouldn't be sitting on the floor with a book in his lap. Most likely, a trial witness got cold feet, or a policy change was delayed by a committee.
Hermione takes her judicial frustrations out at the driving range, and Draco lets Harry skim them from his scalp with his wand, or a quill nib, or the blunt edge of his fingernails.
On the telly, Hawkeye says something clever, but Harry doesn't catch it, because the edge of his nail catches on the edge of something on Draco's scalp. Startled, he looks down to find a rough pink patch near the whorl at Draco's crown.
He rubs it, and Draco doesn't wince. "Did you hit your head on something?"
"No," Draco replies, closing his book. "Why?"
"Nothing," Harry says cooly, but a thread of concern worms its way in. "There's just a mark."
Draco hums and reaches up to rub it. "Odd."
Ultimately, it ends up being a big deal for blessedly nothing. A biopsy, a few months of a particularly obnoxious cream, and £800 in not-quite-right hats later, the spot is gone.
One evening, the street lights outside make the clouds orange, and on the telly, Klinger is having his sanity questioned while Harry rubs his thumb over the small scar on Draco's scalp and says, for the dozenth time, "So glad we caught that early," shortly followed by, "Could've been a lot worse."
Draco just nods, like he does every time Harry is obviously thinking of all the horrible outcomes that didn't happen. And then it occurs to him that if it hadn't been for the Hogwarts lice epidemic, they wouldn't have caught it early. It would have been a lot worse.
There's no one person in particular he can thank for the long-ago happenstance. He never did find out who introduced head lice to the Hogwarts class of '98. He does know, however, that there are feelings regarding the incident which still need addressing.
Apologising to Granger would be embarrassing, in the best case, and put him in an early grave in several other cases. They're both Mugwumps now, but Granger was long-established and climbing the ranks before they gave Draco his father's empty seat.
Granger had been the only vote against him. After his induction, she'd shook his hand grudgingly, looking as if she wanted to challenge him to a rematch of his own election.
"I suppose," she'd said, "it's time to see if we can entrust a ferret with guarding the chicken coop."
It was a lacking analogy for someone so clever, and it made him pause to examine her. She looked as though she'd been up all night studying. But the only thing on the Wizengamot's docket that entire day was the vote over his seat, and the following giving and taking of the oaths.
He licked his lips and hazarded a guess. "I think you put more deliberation into your vote than anyone else here."
She shot him a watery smile. "You don't sound upset that I voted against you."
He took a moment to think. "I never trusted professors who only gave high marks. It didn't feel as if they were doing their job."
Appeased enough for a bit of swottiness, she changed tack. "I still don't think you should be allowed in the Wizengamot until we're done with the Statute overhaul. Everything you know about Muggles, you learned precisely the wrong way."
He'd bitten his tongue then, metaphorically, and bit the inside of his lower lip in reality. "You're right, Granger. I know Muggle relations like a felon knows the law. But that isn't nothing, is it?"
She'd given him a trite hum, and, over the last decade, Draco had decided the expression meant she'd been hoping for a fight and didn't get it. Nowadays, she saves that huffy hum for the golf course, on days when the weather is too perfect, and par comes too easily, and everyone stands back and lets her play through.
Draco sighs, his cheek on Harry's thigh. He presses his lips to Harry's jeans. Sometimes, evenings like this end with Draco asleep between Harry's knees, just like that first time. Other nights, they're punctuated with an idle, lazy blowjob that's mostly lips and leads to Harry coming about half the times, and yawning and suggesting Chinese for dinner the other half. Draco is happy either way.
But tonight, he's going to fall asleep against Harry's leg before anything else can happen.
A week later, he's on the golf course with Granger and two senior Mugwumps who've been delaying the vote on Squib inheritance rights reform for three sessions now. Draco is there because the 'Malfoy' in his last name appeals to one Mugwump, and the '-Potter" appeals to the other. It doesn't hurt that he can carry two golf bags.
Draco leans against a shade tree and watches Granger tee up, both in their conversation and with her ball. The two elder statesmen respectfully go quiet while she lines up to swing, then whips her driver like a mace.
Both men are silent as they watch the ball arc through the sky. She takes the opportunity to restart, restate, and redirect the conversation while the next man tees up.
Silently, while the three of them watch another shot, Draco pulls a shiny new ladies' putter from his bag and slides it into Granger's. He rustles the clubs to settle them evenly in her bag. She probably won't notice for quite a while. When she's looking for her usual putter, she won't even register the existence of other clubs.
Dutifully, he scoops up both their bags and follows them.
He didn't put a note on the putter, just a red ribbon bow on the grip, which is hidden inside the bag. She may or may not know Draco gave it to her. And if she does, she won't ask why, because they've both learned that wounds that are already healing don't do well if reopened.
A gust of wind catches the brim of his hat, and he fumbles a set of clubs while catching it. His own clubs slide out onto the ground, but it's better than chasing his hat.
As he's picking them up, someone in a golf cart honks their obnoxious little robot horn at him. He's shoving his clubs into his bag, and he glances up to find a black and chrome golf cart with some Danish logo on the hood, and it's headed straight down the centre of the path toward him.
There's only one arrogant prat who drives a cart like that. Or, more accurately, who gets driven in a cart like that. Finch-Fletchley. The Muggle-prince-turned-wizard-pauper-turned-smarmy-solicitor, who was famous for introducing the magical world to the concept of fraudulent class action lawsuits.
The driver honked again, a sound more suited to a child's toy than a motor vehicle, but Draco stepped to the side and let them pass. He set down Hermione's bag and raised an arm at the elbow for a perfect parade wave.
In passing, Justin flashed him a mouth full of veneers without making eye contact.
Quick as lightning, as the cart goes by, and Justin isn't looking, Draco reaches out and snatches a club. His instincts see a silver Snitch, and in a split-second, he holds one of Justin Finch-Fletchley's golf clubs in his hand.
His fingers unfurl to reveal a shiny new driver, engraved and lacquered in reds and oranges. A Honma driver. He flips it over and wraps his hand around the grip. Very nice. At minimum, a £15,000 club. Appalling.
After a short wait, Justin's cart goes round the curve. Draco sets the other bag down, then squares his shoulders, centring them up with the nearest water hazard. It's a small pond, about ten metres away.
Without a second thought, he hefts the driver onto his shoulder like a javelin, gets a three-step running start, and flings it into the water. It hits the surface with a wet slap, briefly sends the grip up as a flag, then sinks like a periscope.
Much better.
Draco scratches his head, readjusts his hat, and picks up his bags.

Character Intro: Nosos (Kingdom of Ichor)
Nicknames- The Dark Plague by the people of Olympius
Crow by Aegle
Scrooge by Apate
Age- 38 (immortal)
Location- The Underworld
Personality- He's a quiet, intuitive, brilliant deity that has an infinity in all things morbid. He has keen interests in things many would consider strange- like death. He's currently seeing someone.
He has the standard abilities of a god except shapeshifting. As the god of illness, plague, & disease his other powers/abilities include pestilence manipulation, infertility manipulation, having supersonic eyesight, necrosis inducement, microbial communication, poison generation/manipulation (toxigenesis), and limited vitakinesis (healing).
Nosos is the eldest child of his parents Nyx (goddess of the night) & Erebus (god of darkness) as well as the eldest of his siblings Apate (goddess of fraud & deception), Keres (goddess of violent death), Arae (goddess of curses & hexes), Charon (Ferryman of the Underworld), Achlys (goddess of the death mist, poison, misery, & sadness), Thanatos (god of death), Hypnos (god of sleep), Nemesis (goddess of retribution), Hemera (goddess of the day), and Aether (god of the upper atmosphere, celestial bodies, & heavenly light).
He lives by himself in a reasonably sized Victorian style house built out of blackwood. Inside the color scheme is pale green, gray, brown, dark green, & black. The flooring is black marble while weeds and thorn branches decorate the windowsills. There are framed vintage medical art & diagrams as well as the heads of several taxidermied animals, including a dragon's skull. There's also wood and leather furniture & there's a constant smell of cleaning solution and rubbing alcohol.
Notable physical features include his long dreadlocs- which is always tied neatly away from his face and his flawless dark ochre skin.
Nosos has a few pets- three crows named Scar, Cloak, & Shadow as well as a hellhound named Ghost- due to his albino fur.
He's fluent in Latin.
Nosos is extremely knowledgeable about all diseases and illnesses that can affect any & all beings of the three realms.
He'll typically start out his day with a session of meditation before going out on a run with Ghost through Shadowstone Park. Nosos will feed his crows their meal of sliced grapes, pomegranate seeds, nightshade berries, and rat meat before leaving.
He and his parents used to be very close. They shared a lot of trauma during the rule of Kronos (Titan god of the harvest, time, & fate). His parents were part of the king's esteemed guardsmen while Nosos served on the council as the High Healer- a learned deity in histories, science, and medicine who provided counsel to as well as handling the health & wellbeing of the king.
Things were more than well during The Golden Age. Shortly after the birth of the king's son Aidoneus- who will later be known as Hades (god of the dead), Nosos started noticing unsettling behavior regarding Kronos. It began with halluccinations of his father Ouranos (primordial god of the sky), then his constant requests of essence of nightshade to help him sleep, followed by his growing maltreatment of his heir and wife Queen Rhea (Titaness of fertility, motherhood, & comfort). Nosos was even ordered to try the meals of the king because Kronos thought his food was at risk of being poisoned. Nosos searched through all available texts to find a cure for the king's mental afflictions- even traveling to the Underworld to seek counsel from it's ruler- Kronos' brother Krios (Titan god of stars & constellations), but he was met with a nonsensical rambling that included the statement, "There's a battle brewing in the stars."
Things only got worse when Kronos ordered all of his servants to be executed. Anytos (Titan god of anonymity & secrets) handled the hangings and beheadings at first while Nosos handled the cleaning of the bodies before they were sent off to the crematoriums. A cataclysmic wave of illness & disease soon plagued Titanius. Weeping sickness amongst the dryads, Blue Fever afflicting the beings of the Underwater realm, and no being (no matter where they lived) was able to escape the grasp of the Black Death- a bubonic plague pandemic that occured all throughout the realms (though the Underworld had the lowest rate of mortality).
Kronos became convinced that all these ailments were the fault of Nosos- that he was conspiring against him. The king ordered Nyx and Erebus to bring their son to him so that he could revoke his immortality before taking his head. Nosos & his parents escaped, where they hid out in the Underworld in the Tartarus region.
He wanted to prove his worth as a deity, so Nosos volunteered in the most well known battle of the Titanomachy- The Fall of Mt. Othrys. His parents participated in the battle too. Before he could actively participate, Nosos suffered a near catastrophic fall when a giant hurled a boulder at him. Any other being falling from such a height would've been killed instantly. Being an immortal deity, Nosos was seriously injured- breaking almost every single bone in his body. The new king of the liberated country/realm now known as Olympius presented him with an Imperial Gold body brace, crafted by the blacksmithing cyclopes. That moment was also when Nosos was introduced to the deity that would eventually become his mentor- Asclepius (god of medicine). When he was nearly healed, Zeus (god of the sky, thunder, & lightning) treated him to a night in a brothel- complete with a few whores dressed as wet nurses. He became enamoured with one that night- a mortal named Anatolia, but she was a married mother of two.
He was so ashamed and embarrased about his lack of conviction in the war that it was many years later that he gathered the courage to face his parents again (who made their permanent residence in the Underworld). By that point Nyx had given birth to three daughters- with her currently pregnant with Charon.
A typical breakfast for him are buttermilk biscuits spread with pomegranate and blackberry jam, burnt strips of bacon, slices of wheat toast topped with black butter, & an egg omelette (added with black olives, red pepper flakes, and spinach). He also likes a big bowl of Earthly Harvest raisin crunch cereal.
A go-to drink for him is an obituary cocktail- a drink made with gin, dry vermouth, & absinthe. He also likes ginger ale, earl grey tea, beer, mojitos, his homemade ash plum-spinach smoothies, nightshade berry juice, water, classic martinis, pomegranate wine, chocolate almondmilk, and dark & stormy cocktails. He doesn't like coffee.
As time went on, Nosos started pulling more and more away from his family till he moved out of the Mansion of Night. His youngest siblings are total strangers to him, but he is aware of them. Nosos feels forgotten, not by his siblings as so much his parents. He doesn't want to seem like a needy petulant child begging for his parents attention, so Nosos just keeps away. Every once in a while he'll stop by briefly for a few minutes while Erebus packs some leftovers for him. It does make him feel a bit better knowing that his parents still want to initiate contact with him- with their e-mails, phone messages, & invitations to family gatherings.
Nosos' sister Apate is one of the reasons he tolerates traveling out-of-realm. She doesn't put any pressure on him to be anything other than what he is and she doesn't believe in the heirarchy that exists among the deities. She even invited him on a night out to a club she was DJing in Crete. He managed the loud music and the sweaty beings through gritted teeth.
He sent Keres a bouquet of black dahlias & a handwritten note to congratulate her on the success of her film Blooddancer.
Nosos' main source of income comes from overseeing the Necrodegmon Institute of Morturary Science, the oldest & most well known mortuary school since Olympius was founded. It's located in the Underworld. He also examines the shades before their official placement. Nosos also models for The Black Label, the menswear brand of his friend Moros (god of doom).
Even though he holds no ill will towards Hades, Nosos does find it disrespectful that he wasn't offered a seat on The Dark Council.
His favorite dessert is his mom's nighshade berry baklava.
Nosos feels an unspoken kinship with not only Apate but with other deities that have been chewed up and spat out by pantheon like Rhea & his mentor. He was disgusted when he learned that Asclepius had his godly abilities stripped away as well as never being allowed to practice medicine again.
The mentor/mentee relationship has now shifted into a geniune friendship since Asclepius' punishment. Nosos will travel to New Olympus to see him at his cottage while they reminisce about the bad ol' times while sharing a blunt and drinking a few beers. They both commiserate on how alone they feel & are, especially since Asclepius' wife Epione (goddess of soothing pain) filed for legal separation and their two youngest kids still live in Kos with her. Nosos does feel guilty about keeping a certain secret from him.
Some of his favorite sweet treats include ash plum sorbet, dark chocolate almondmilk ice cream, and pomegranate sorbet.
After much self reflection, Nosos made the decision on his own to seek out therapy. While in New Olympus, he'll also go to his scheduled appointment with his therapist Pathos (god of emotion). He has walked out several times whenever his percieved failure at battle was brought up until he collasped emotionally- finally pouring out his heart to Pathos. Another topic of discussion has been Nosos' unsuccessful attempts at romantic relationships. He's now coming to terms regarding his actions of love bombing & getting attached quickly despite the other partner's feelings.
He used to date Paean (goddess of physicians) and Iaso (goddess of cures & remedies). Both relationships lasted a few weeks, with a pattern of Nosos pushing for commitment right from the start as well as constantly sending them unwanted gifts.
Now, Nosos' been seeing his mentor's younger sister Aegle (goddess of good health) for a while. He was instantly physically attracted to her when she stopped by for a visit. Wanting to break the cycle of his previous bad behavior, he acted cold and aloof towards her, but at the end of the day when Aegle was getting ready to leave, Nosos asked for her number. He invited her to his parents' ranch where they made out heavily in an empty stable. They slept together for the first time at his place. He likes the fact that Aegle doesn't see his failures when she looks at him. Nosos also enjoys hearing her laugh and catching the citrus scent of her hair. During a late night phone call she told him "I love you." He could only reply by saying "Oh" before hanging up.
In the pantheon Nosos is also friends with Lelantos (Lantos) (Titan god of air, the unseen, & hunting).
He's thinking about having Aegle as his plus one when he goes to the wedding of Moros and Oizys (goddess of anxiety, misery, & depression).
He enjoys listening to folk, rock, grunge, and classical music. Nosos has enjoyed every bit of music Moros has recorded thus far.
In his free time he enjoys watching TV (his go-to being science & medical documentaries as well as true crime shows), reading, taxidermy, sailing (along the River Lethe), hellhorse riding, and cooking.
Nosos' all time favorite meal is a spinach salad topped with black sesame seeds and pomegranate vinaigrette along with a beef and broccoli stew served with steamed brown rice. He also likes his mother's scorched chicken with beef patties & his dad's bourbon barbeque ribs. His favorite take out order is jjajangmyeon. There's a hole-in-the-wall place in the Underworld that makes the best!
"Death is the cure for all diseases."

Thoughts on the new patch / dlc archetypes etc so far:
Owlcat said death to unarmoured meta with a lot of the new feats (regular and mythic) and honestly? fucking finally. Mythic armour and shield feats now exist, with the buckler one pretty much giving everyone in radius of the buckler wielder an ac bonus on a certain trigger. Camellia just got a lot better at tanking between this, the armour mythics and the feat to cast a hex again on a target you already failed against, as well as being able to take an extra hex as a standard feat if you wanted to.
spirit hunter shaman is no longer locked into the battle spirit!! (I learned this by using barley's respec mod on Camellia, she had the option to choose) I still think it is the best choice for spirit hunter, but it does open up a lot more variety for that archetype now. Prophet of Pestilence is extremely thematic and seems really strong - I'm going to be playing it in LoN so I can give more of an opinion once I'm started on the dlc.
Assassin is now available to true neutral characters, meaning Greybor can finally be his appropriate prestige class. There's a bunch of new intimidation feats (regular and mythic) that work well in tandem with assassin if you take it all the way up to 10, and with a new mythic feat that basically ignores poison and disease resistances, its actually viable now. I was running Greybor as 10 assassin / 10 slayer last night in the Midnight Isles and he's pretty damned good now - heavy focus on intimidation, so bump his charisma up through the headwear slot
there is now a hag bloodline! I saw it for the bloodrager, but I'd be surprised if there wasn't a sorcerer option too. I really like this choice, seems like it will be a fun bloodline to play.
Honestly just for the archetypes, feats etc alone I'm very happy with the DLC - there's about to be a lot more viable options now especially for martial pcs and companions, which I'm super stoked about 🥹
#harper.txt#as a martial enjoyer i am LIVING#thank you owlcaaaat#me and siren were like kids in a sweet shop last night in dms :')

[Equip soap ] for Plague Priest Mange the Blighter
A hateful, froth-spitting hiss leaves the pestilent priest's maw. Not being coated in unholy filth simply felt wrong to him. He wrapped his arms tightly around himself, shuddering as if he were freezing to death.
"Hate... Hate! HATE! HATE! HAAAAATE!"
"SKRITCHITT, YOU CAT-FONDLING ELF-THING-LIKER! I CURSE-HEX YOU-YOU! CURSE-HEX! CUUURSSSE-HEXXX!"
Meanwhile, Skritchitt was writhing on the floor---cackling like a mad Skryre engineer. He was by no means responsible for this unwanted spa treatment, yet he was delighted to see Mange suffer all the same.

. ˚◞♡ demon boyfriend x gn reader ⊹ ۪ ࣪
⊹ ۪ ࣪ ( valerius ) demon x reader, rhytaari x reader, cw: reader gets hurt ⊹ ۪ ࣪
𖹭. your demon boyfriend comes to save you after someone hurts you.
you stare death in the eye with a smile. seas of nervousness swell in your eyes. yet a smile nevertheless.
“you smile.”
the being raises your chin. its scaly, clawed fingers make your skin crawl. you wish to spit in its damned eye. yet you move not a muscle.
“I wonder how much might you smile after I rid you of this pestilent tongue.”
it seems that your mouthing off is not taken lightly. thee beings of what you can only describe as miasma toss your battered body to the ground. those scales flush into your throat as an amalgamation of a hand grips around your throat.
sweat formulates at your brow. you wheeze through your mouth and shoot your hands up. yet weakness has long since settled in your muscles. the blood on your skin brings only winces through your body.
as the being peers over you with a sneer. you feel it. the familiar prickle along your hairs. the elated feeling twists in your tummy.
“where is your precious rhytaari now?”
“turn around.”
the being would not even be able to. it took but a glare and its hand that is wrapped around your throat burns with runes seared through its skin. it causes a gurgled screech from the creature before it scampers off. torn away by a force that feels like only a breeze to your skin. a cool balm.
you need not behold the towering figure in front of you. for in the blink of an eye you were in strong, gold-riddled arms. your lips flush against bronze skin as you pant heavily.
you feel the rise of fire bridling through his entire being. and yet the hand that finds your head to pet in assurance is as gentle as ever.
you just barely see his face. the beautiful stature of your beloved demon who holds you as though you are a wounded dove. the most delicate of creatures.
the beings around you quake. some howl in fear and back off as much they can. the click of your lover’s tongue, they catch alight in a flame unknown. screaming as their flesh glues to the ground.
all you hear is the slow thrum of his heart. pure serenity.
“you dare touch what is not yours?”
the deep rumble of his voice tears through the air as he turns to the only being not set alight. the one that had the sheer audacity to lay it’s grimy hand around your throat.
a snap of valerius’ fingers. the being is on its knees with wails of pain. its large eyes beholds your form cradled within your husband’s arms. bridal style with your head limped to his chest. wounds healing from the mere presence of his magic.
“apologise to my spouse.” it is spoken so calmly. and yet the narrow of his eyes tears another scream from the perpetrator’s throat.
spluttered apologies leave it. but they matter not to you. for your arms hook around valerius’ neck and you shudder into his throat.
“beloved, take me home.”
it is all he needs to hear. leaving the beings to the agony of his hexes that will surely suffocate their soul soon enough. he carries you back to the temple and holds you in his arms. soft lips peppering kisses of apology all over your skin. cleansing you of the miasma and filth.

Intro Post! [OOC & Content Warnings under the cut]
Tammy is keeping me indoors today and I am so bored I decided to join a new social media. (For the record this is posted on diya no yaru but what if I WANTED to be a ghost, Tammy?)
I'm Guppy and I'm a bug catcher :D My party is:
War - Haracross
Pestilence - Parasect
Famine - Beautifly
Death - Scyther
Gemini - Ninjask
Missile Launcher - Cutiefly
This is a non-faller crossover blog with TBoI in which two posthumous characters from TBoI are living trainers in the pokemon world instead of dead cats. Obviously this blog will not be NEARLY as dark as the game that inspired it but there ARE plans for dark stuff to happen to these two that will be tagged correctly! Please block #cw blood, #unreality, and #cw gore if you need to. Unreality will be used when a secret character shows up at any time.
Speaking of, by interacting with this blog you are both agreeing not to fix their long-term arc instantly and that you are to tap out if a plotline feels too dark for you.
While I am using Arcism to replace Christianity on these two characters, I will NOT be matching it 1:1, Arcism is canonically a different religion.
Characters:
Bug Catcher Guppy
Worships Giratina casually, is NOT evil because of it
Team mentioned above
High energy
Here for a fun life not a long one (do not let him go to Paldea he will the crater)
Has Severe nightmares, and keeps a lunar feather due to this
Hex Maniac Tammy
Worships Arceus
Rather low energy
Team: Gemini (Shedninja), Doublade (Gabriel), Ivor (Banette), Pikachu (Mimikyu), Consequences (Duskull)
Keeps a smaller team than Guppy
Shared facts by both
Both Gemini came from the same Nincada raised by Guppy, they ended up sharing the pokemon
Avoids Debating Each Other About Beliefs. They have a few times and it never started a full on fight but it stresses them both out
Missile Launcher and Pikachu are new on their respective teams, and Consequences was caught by Tammy after Guppy went outside on diya no yaru
Follows from @newworldenderdragon
